Mark Garrow (10:30 AM)
Good morning everyone...it's bright and sunny here in Texas...so let's get the partaaayyyy started!
Bill (Hooksett, NH)
Good Morning Mr. Guru...Coming down to the wire, and currently leading my Scc team (98.7 % for the season).Currently have 48,99,17,26,10. What do you think of this line-up?? My only question is trading out the 10 for the 2. Your thoughts??
Mark Garrow (10:33 AM)
Born in Claremont..so tip of the cap to the Granite State...That's a tough call today..10 is in pretty good shape..but so is 2 and both are pretty deep in the pack..Here's perhaps the tipping point..We know Busch is capable of running top-10..but Allmendinger is top-15..
Billy the Kid ( NM )
The 17 or the 48 .... Pick 2 out of JMac,Ragan,Truex Jr and Mears ... the 10 or the 44 ? Thanks !
Mark Garrow (10:35 AM)
48 is one of the best cars today and so is 17..but how do you bet against Jimmie?..I like JMac and Ragan for group 2...and the 44 over the 10...44 is one of the top picks again this week inside the garage.
Bob, Pensacola
Who's more likely to finish top 10....11 or 07?
Mark Garrow (10:35 AM)
Looks like to me both should finish top-10 and believe it or not..both are top-five potential as well...Lap tracker showed them both near the top of the list in yesterday's final practice.
Bill from Buffalo
Great and magnificent Guru. What do you think to complete 48,17,10 - (99,2) (99,1) or (18,6)?
Mark Garrow (10:38 AM)
Here's the deal Bill..99 is the car to beat today..18 is very good too..But I'd have to say 99 and 1 should do the best of those groups followed by 99,2 and then the 18,6..Truex, Jr. is potential top-10..might fall back early though.
Tony, Wisconsin
Hey Mark, I actually have 2 questions, 1. Which one of these 2 teams would be better, 48,99,17,2,10 Or, 48,18,17,8/1,102. And which order do you put these drivers in after practice and Q,2,8,9,1,83,44,26Thanks for all your help.
Mark Garrow (10:41 AM)
48,18,17,8, and 10..I think will do a little bit better although any team without 99 might be throwing away winner's points..44, 26,8,1,2,83,9..I think all but the nine have some sort of shot of finishing top-10 to top-15.
Big Dog MI
Mark, Help again which one of these two is the best 48 or 99. Now the hard part pick two from these four 18,26,6,1 Last but not least pick one 10 or 15 what is with the dinger in qualifying did he have a blind fold on or is this where he will be driving from all day sunday? Last thing as for lets get this partaaaaaaaaa started be your own person and tell the idot who complained about it find some else to get their fantasy information thanks again.
Mark Garrow (10:43 AM)
99...18,26...10...and thanks..
Hot Mama-CALI
So pick one Guru..99 or 48 and pick two- 88,26,6,or the 16 and pick one 10 or 44.Thanks for your help!If ya have time who is your favorite top 10 racers in Texas???Thanks again!
Mark Garrow (10:44 AM)
Mama Mia I'd go with 99...88 and 16....and 44...
Daryl (Madison, WI)
Hey Mark, which team do you like better 1) 48, 88, 29, 17, and 77(or 01) or 2)48, 20, 29, 17, and 66? THANX!
Mark Garrow (10:46 AM)
Daryl ..you're killing me man...wow that's a hard one...but any team with Sam Hornish, Jr. is a non-starter for me..but put Regan Smith in that mix and you'll probably do a little bit better with that first team.
Billy Bob (Concord, NH)
I appreciate the time you put into your columns and chats. Trying to hold on to a slim lead in my league and a little help would be appreciated -- select one from the 99 and 17; two from 26,1,8,6; and one from 10 and 44. Much appreciated.
Mark Garrow (10:47 AM)
99...26 and 8...44..and go get'em BB..
Joey Logano
This "sliced bread" won't be soggy today! I know what you're thinking...I won't be "toast" either. See you in the top 20.
Mark Garrow (10:49 AM)
Yo Joey...not a chance...just try to finish one or two laps down and head to the house..
TIN CUP (SV, CA)
Morning, MG!Leaning toward: 48, 99, 17, 2, 15. First three are a lock. However, 2's starting spot (40) concerns me. Did he just slip up in quals? Does it matter since the entire field is seperated by only .78 secs? His car appears dialed in through Happy Hour. Considering 26, who is running well, starting (4) and lower value which frees up Reutimann over Menard. Please help me get over the 8, 44 junk-run from last week. Thanks and good luck!
Mark Garrow (10:50 AM)
Tin Cup..44 burned me last week too, but garage insiders again say he is in very good shape and we talked to his crew chief this morning and he confirmed that..Using the 26 to get to 44 to help you grab some big points today.
John, Little Rock, Arkansas
Hi Mark, where do you rank these drivers in order???44,10,01,2,42,26,8,9,.And who will be better, Jamie Mccmurray or Kurt Busch
Mark Garrow (10:52 AM)
44,26,42,8,2,10,9,01
bill Tampa FL
48 99 17 26 10 or 48 99 44 18 10 or 88 1 24 41 07 thanks
Mark Garrow (10:54 AM)
I think the first two teams have strong potential...First team feels a little safer pick..need Allmendinger to come throughwith another top-15 and should be in really shape actually with either team.
Mike Provo UT
Mark can you rate these teams after practice?48-24-17-6-5, or 48-99-24-44-5, or 48-99-18-84-5
Mark Garrow (10:56 AM)
I go with the second team and hope for the best.
Ed (Petersburg, WV)
Ok,Guru, two part question here: What do make of Allmendinger and Reutimann after the practices and qualifying? What is your take on both the 2 and 26 today? Who do you like better?
Mark Garrow (10:58 AM)
Reutimann is in really good shape and I saw lap tracker to prove it...AJ's driving for a job so he'll be up on the wheel and could potentially be top-15..26 is pretty good, maybe a little bit better than 2..But Kurt's crew chief and he said they could run top-10 but have a long way to get there after messing up qualifying..
BIG D (fort wayne)
Marvelous Mark, your about ready to finish my championship ride all mighty one! rank mears, mcmuarry, ruetimann, allmendinger. thanks a million marvelous one!
Mark Garrow (10:59 AM)
44,26,5,10...all top-15 potential...first two top-10...
Marshall (San Diego)
Hey Carknack, since it is around the corner, what do you do in the offseason? Is there a Fantasy Boxing? If you can assist with some non-salary picks, I would greatly appreciate it. Two of your Guru-favorites from each group would do it: 07,16,20,29,1,6 and 2. Also: 55,22,41,77,01 and 66. Thanks Mark.
Mark Garrow (11:01 AM)
No fantasy boxing..but go with Calzaghe over Roy Jones next Saturday night..lol...07 and 16...41 and 66
Jeff NY
Guru who is better this week.. 2-8-1-83-84-6. Please pick 2
Mark Garrow (11:02 AM)
8,1
Bill, DE
Hey Mark, Who do you expect to run better between Reutimann and Vickers? McMurray or Ragan? AJ's practice speeds fell off between the first and third practice- do you know what's up with him? Thank you.
Mark Garrow (11:04 AM)
I think Reutimann is the pick over Vickers..44 is running a little better and 83 is going to the back because of an engine change..McMurray is in a little bit better shape than 6..I'd rank the Roush guys 99,17,26,16, and 6 according to Biffle's crew chief.
Caeser (Pittsburgh, PA)
Good Morning Guru! Still clinging to first place in my league and need your insight. Edwards or Kenseth? Reutimann or Allmendinger? Pick two out of Ragan, McMurray, Truex and Mears. Thanks again for all the info and have a great day!
Mark Garrow (11:05 AM)
99...44...McMurray and Truex...
justn
hey mark, need 1-ed or johnson. need 2-ragan,truex,mcmurray,newman. need 1-reutimann or kvapil
Mark Garrow (11:06 AM)
99, 26 and 1..44
Bill, De
Hi Mark, One other question. Who will be better, Hamlin or Kurt Busch? Thanks again.
Mark Garrow (11:06 AM)
Take Hamlin there.
Dave (Philly):
Pls rank, Mr. Guru: 26,6,88,18,44,83 -- thank you! Yeah, Phils!
Mark Garrow (11:07 AM)
18,44,88,26,6,83
Jeff - Morgantown, WV
Hey Mark, who do you like better...Harvick or Hamlin? Vickers or Truex? Also, do you think Martin and Ragan will outrun a combo of one of those two? Thanks.
Mark Garrow (11:08 AM)
Hamlin...Truex...Hamlin-Truex better combo than Martin-Ragan.
Dirk Diggler (Denver)
You've been $ for me all season...and I'm trying to extend my 100 point lead (yahoo). Hope you can shed some more skillz by ranking my picks this week: (pick one) 99,48 (two) 18,88,6,26 (one) 44,10. couple notes to consider - i can only play the 88,99,18 two more times each, so if you think any of them might be better at the other two remaining tracks...i should save them. thanks again for a great season - hope to bury the other beeotches in my league for good today!
Mark Garrow (11:11 AM)
99..18,88...44....I wouldn't recommend saving any of the three you listed..I can see you using 88 again next week at Phoenix..but he's never done all that much at Homestead..
J.R. - Salisbury, NC
Mark, what happened to Kurt during qualifying? Do you think he can make it to the front starting all the way back there? What about McMurray, will he shake his bad luck this weekend?
Mark Garrow (11:13 AM)
Kurt got to tight in practice but his crew chief told me this morning they are still potential 10 if they can get through the traffic, which is easier said than done especially with all the dirty air...I think 26 shakes the bad luck today just a gut feeling.
Jeff (springdale, AR)
Mark, thanks for the help as always. I am ranked 76th in the nation!!! What do you think of this team for Texas? 48(can't drop)-18-17-1-5.
Mark Garrow (11:13 AM)
Jeff that's not a bad line-up..I can see three top-five..a top-10..and a top-15 on that team potentially.
Stacy MS
Hi Mark, thanks for your weekly help. Yahoo Team.. a) Gordon or Edwards b) Need 2- Ragan, Mark Martin, Kyle B c) Vickers or Reuitimann
Mark Garrow (11:14 AM)
Edwards...Martin-Busch...Reutimann
Guru in training (NH)
I need a top 10 from one of these cars.... 07, 1, 2, 6. Which is my best bet?
Mark Garrow (11:14 AM)
07
Ryan (Houston, TX)
What's up with the 83? Risky pick? Did they change engine after practice? Did they find the problem? Compare 83,44,10
Mark Garrow (11:15 AM)
As I said 83 lost an engine..they'll be pretty good, but straight up everyone is saying 44 is running better.
pj in duluth,mn
Where do you see Bill Elliott finishing today? does he outrun Dinger?
Mark Garrow (11:15 AM)
No I don't see that..unless something bad happens to Dinger..
Jimmy ( Seattle)
Good morning guru.... could you rank these please.... 07,1,2,26. Also are they top 10 cars?
Mark Garrow (11:16 AM)
07,26,1,2..all are top-10 potential..07 is top-five potential..
Mark Garrow (11:16 AM)
Going to take a few minutes to bring the crew chief notes...Be right back..
Mark Garrow (11:17 AM)
Michael Waltrip Racing, Ryan Pemberton, Crew Chief David Reutimann...He felt theircar was really good yesterday for most of the two practice sessions...Pemberton saidhe was a little worried, though, about how loose car got during one of the runs, but said theother three to four runs they made were really good...Feels like they have a top-10 or better car...Since people had told us they were also good at Atlanta anddidn't run very well I asked Pemberton what happened there and he told me car got hitearly and knocked one of the rear fenders loose and they also had a couple of otherminor issues...He said this car is so finicky little things can mean a lot andcan turn good day into a bad one.
Mark Garrow (11:17 AM)
Bill Davis Racing, Gene Nead, Dave Blaney...He said they were okay and when asked about recent test session at Nashville and whether that helped them for this weekendas they had hoped, Nead said it really didn't...Not really sure how good a car they havetoday and worried about starting so far back in the dirty air..They're in danger of getting lapped early by cars that have the clean air out front.
Mark Garrow (11:17 AM)
Team Red Bull, Jimmy Elledge, crew chief Scott Speed...They just want their rookiedriver to make laps and finish with four fenders and four tires..Teammate Brian Vickersis running pretty strong, but they had to change motors and he'll have to go to the backof the pack at the start...Potentially strong enough to run top-15 or a little better, butnot sure they can get there trouble free starting so far back.
Mark Garrow (11:18 AM)
RCR, Gil Martin, Crew Chief Clint Bowyer...He said they were really good and potentiallytop-five material..Felt they were the best of the RCR cars..He said the 29 was runningpretty decent too, but 31 was not very happy with the way they qualified or practicedyesterday..Martin said the 99 was really good and to watch out for the 44..
Mark Garrow (11:18 AM)
RCR, Todd Berrier, Crew chief Kevin Harvick...They quailified 23rd and Berrier said for them that's really good..He says the driver really likes the car, but he feels it doesnot have enough speed...Berrier also picked out the 99 as car to beat and liked the 44,but also said teammate Clint Bowyer belonged among the top picks today.
Mark Garrow (11:18 AM)
Joe Gibbs Racing, Steve Addington, Crew Chief Kyle Busch...He said they really struggledFriday with car loose in and tight in the center and in qualifying Kyle had to lift notto hit the wall, which is why they qualified 29th..The practices yesterday though wenta lot better...Addington said they had wanted to try something for quite awhile so theythrew that set-up in the car and it worked...Feels like they could run top-five if they can get up through the traffic safely..He said that Stewart in a back-up wasn't that badand they were making a few more changes this morning to bring it closer to the set-upthey had in the primary...Now Addington gave a look at one of the charts they pulled offthe lap tracker computer program and it showed the top-eight cars in long runs duringthe last practice...Those cars werew 18,11,07,17,20,44,48, and 99..
Mark Garrow (11:18 AM)
Penske Racing, Pat Tryson, Crew Chief Kurt Busch...They got really tight in qualifyingso after qualifying 40th there is no place to go but up...Tryson said the practice wentpretty well, though, yesterday and they potentially have a top-10 car if they can getthrough the traffic...He said the 12 was okay, but not as good as they were...SamHornish, Jr. was pretty decent..He said his pick for the top three would be 99,18, and 48.
Mark Garrow (11:18 AM)
Ganassi Racing, Brian Patti, Crew Chief Juan Pablo Montoya...Patti believes they have a solid top 10 car as the team is getting bettereach week. They would have finished in the top 10 or perhaps the top 5last weekend in Atlanta but they got messed up on pit road late. Montoya made long runs in practice and was solid. Not so good on the short runs. The 41 of Reed Sorenson qualified 9th but Patti does not believe they canmaintain. He says Sorenson has a 15th to 20th place car.
Mark Garrow (11:19 AM)
Yates Racing, Cully Barraclough, Crew Chief David Gilliland...Cully says they found something towards the end of happy hourthat the car liked so he is cautiously optimistic. They made several 15 lap runs and the car seemed pretty decent. David thinks he canmove up from his 34th starting spot. He feels they have a 15th to 20thplace car. The 38 car scrapped the wall during practice so he missedtrack time as the crew made repairs. Travis Kvapil has a 20th to 25th place car.
Mark Garrow (11:19 AM)
Gillette Evernham Motorsports, Mike Shiplett, Crew Chief AJ Allmendinger...Gillette Evernham Motorsports, Rodney Childers, Crew Chief Elliott Sadler...Mike says the 10 car was a tight in practice but feels like they can movethrough traffic. He thinks they have a top 20 car right now but in the end theycan be somewhere between 10th and 15th. He called the car decent. Childers says they are terrible. He says if they were just bad we would be happy. They just can not figure the set up with these tires. It appears the 9 is a bit betterthan the 19 but not much. Do not look for Kasey Kahne to do much unless theyjust happen to hit on something.
Mark Garrow (11:19 AM)
DEI, Tony Gibson, Crew Chief Mark Martin...Gibson says Martin has a top 10 carwith top 5 potential. He says they learned a lot from their run last Sunday at Atlanta asthe car was unexpectedly loose. So what they did was put the Atlanta set up in here atTexas and what they found was the car was still real loose. Gibson then put in a set upthat Dale Earnhardt Jr. used here last year and that seemed to help the car quite a bit andMartin feels like he has a car he can work with. As for the 1 car, Gibson says Martin Truex Jr. was not good in practice and the team is making chages to the car this morning, but believes he can work his way up and eventually wind up in the top 10. Gibson likes the way Paul Menardis running and feels like he has a top 15 car. He says Menard is charing the corners well and usually runs good on these type tracks. The 01 of Regan Smith is okay and Gibson says hehas a top-20 car as Smith is out there to learn and stay out of trouble. His favorites todayinclude the 99, 18, 18 and his dark horse to win today is the 44 of David Ruetimann.
Mark Garrow (11:19 AM)
Hendrick Motorsports, Tony Eury Jr., Crew Chief for Dale Earnhardt Jr...We found Tony up in the 88 hauler this morning deep in thought working on his laptoptrying to settle on a set up to start the race. He says he is not sure how the car willperform as it was loose in at times and tight in at times. But the good news is he thinksthey will be okay and Dale Junior was not complaining too much on the radio duringpractice. He thinks they have a top 10 car. Eury Jr. says Jimmie Johnson is happy and hasa top 5 and perhaps a winning car. Jeff Gordon says his car is a little free and is in the sameboat at the 88 and has a top 10 going into the race. Casey Mears seems happy with his carand should run at least top 15.
Mark Garrow (11:20 AM)
Roush-Fenway Racing, Greg Erwin, Crew Chief Greg Biffle...Roush-Fenway Racing, Larry Carter, Crew Chief Jamie McMurray...Erwin is not happy going into the race and is trying to figure out a set up that will work forBiffle. The 16 got scrapped up during practice along the right side as the crew was makingrepairs this morning. Greg is not sure if they can run top 10. He is not surprised that CarlEdwards probably has everyone covered. He says Matt Kenseth appears to be happywhile David Ragan has struggled a bit. Carter says McMurray has a top 10 car. We talked withJamie after qualifying and he thought he had a top 5 but Carter today said they were not thatgood in practice but they would be okay.
Mark Garrow (11:30 AM)
My top six picks...99,48,17,18,07...Next tier...11,20,29,24,16,26,8,1,2,88...Budget picks in order....44(15.8)...5(17.6) 10(14.7), 42(16.1), 15(15.3)....low, low pick..maybe Ambrose (11.1)

Joe Sioux City, IA
shich you like better today 26 or 2...2 starting so far back-can he get through some traffice?
Mark Garrow (11:31 AM)
I like the 26 a little better...running just a tick better and better starting position too.
Ken (Hendersonville, NC)
Mark: Nobody has mentioned the late start. with the time switch, isn?t there a good chance this race will end up under the lights? It seems to me that with the changing track conditions this should play into the hands of the 48, 17 and 9 teams which are very good at keeping up with the changes in the track conditions.
Mark Garrow (11:32 AM)
Ken..the final hour or so of the race will be under the lights..48 and 17 will be right there..but 9 just don't see it..although he did make me eat my words at Charlotte.
Daniel: Owensboro, KY
Guru, I am torn this week. I have the 88 and 20 carried over from last week. Should I keep them? Or should I dump them for the 11 and 07? Thanks!
Mark Garrow (11:33 AM)
88 and 20.not terrible..but 11 and 07 should score better..
joe
you only have 5 in your top 6
Mark Garrow (11:34 AM)
Sorry Joe..I was doing all that as I was getting kicked off line...number six would be the 11.
Jack ( Va)
The 24 and 1 are starting up front but did not seem to good in practice. Where do you see these two cars running by the end of the race today??
Mark Garrow (11:35 AM)
They could end up somewhere in the top-10, but not top-five.
SBMltd Bakersfield Ca

26-44
Phil (TN)
88 is in the "next tier" but you don't seem too high on him, you like the 26, 16 or 1 better?
Mark Garrow (11:42 AM)
88 is just okay today...not terrible..not great..that's about all I can say..should stil run top-10 but may be bitching about it the whole time.
Ryan (Michigan)
What is the word on Vickers for today, at the end of practice yesterday there were hints that his engine was going bad?
Mark Garrow (11:42 AM)
Again, they had to change engines and are going to the back of the pack.
Dom (Pittsburgh, PA)
mark please help me!! i am in yahoo and have 99 8/9 and 17 2/9. should i use my last 99 start here??
Mark Garrow (11:43 AM)
Use the 99 if you want to go out with a blaze of glory..or take 17 and go out with blaze of glory potentially at Homestead..Carl is just about everybody's top pick today.
brian phila.
2,17 or 18
Mark Garrow (11:44 AM)
17 is the safest play..18 will be right there close to him.just in front or back..but 17 is safer pick today in my opinion..both will outscore with Kurt Busch.
josh mn
Hey Mark you are killing me!!! Tell me where to improve on this line up please...43,5,83,26,24,6,20,88 Thinking the 43 has to go for sure
Mark Garrow (11:47 AM)
Josh...I'm killing you....you're killing me man..lol..I don't even know where to start with your line-up..sure dump the 43...all the other cars decent to good, but 20 may be the only potential top-five and I don't see any potential winners....blow it up and start all over again is my suggestion.
Larry David (HBO)
Your not sending us bad info so your fantasy team can move up the charts??
Mark Garrow (11:48 AM)
Are you kidding me? I pour my heart out every week Larry...giving the best of what I've got...where's the love man? and have you seen where I'm ranked?..lol..
Ken (Hendersonville, NC)

Mark Garrow (11:50 AM)

Crispy Candyland
Mark litle confused Billy the Kid asked you to pick 2 between 26, 6, 1, 5 you picked 26,6 then Caeser ask for the same picks and you picked 26,1. I have the same question and now not sure if I should go 6 or 1 with the 26. Thanks for your help
Mark Garrow (11:51 AM)
Sorry Crispy if I did that..26 and 1 is my pick at this point.but I don't see any of those four really hurting you.
Jimmy Fan (Rochester, NY)
Wonderful insites on crew cheif notes. Anyone else besides Vickers going to the back?
Mark Garrow (11:52 AM)
He'll be joined back there by 20 and 7 because they wrecked and are in back-ups.
Marcie (Bristol,Tn)

Mark Garrow (11:53 AM)
88,8....no big "bow wows" in group though.
baggio (nyc)
Guru: what do you think of the 42 today? Am I nuits to start him over the 26?
Mark Garrow (11:54 AM)
Look Montoya is in pretty good shape, but he has to get to the finish of a race before I get too excited about him..then again the same can be said of McMurray...Go ahead and take Montoya and then repeat after me "Hail may full of grace the Lord is with the...."
yzergod (Durango, CO)
Guru, I appreciate your work! Now, why Truex Jr over Ragan when Ragan has done better on Speedways of late?
Mark Garrow (11:57 AM)
Biffle's crew chief Greg Erwin isn't really high on the way 6 is running here..I'm like you past stats should make 6 choice over 1..but DEI crew chief says 1 is top 10 potential and Erwin says the 6 isn't.
Mike( SO cal)
Mark no 44 in top picks or second tier?
Mark Garrow (11:58 AM)
I put him in there as my top budget pick..he is definitely second tier material and if you listen to he crew chiefs this morning he's a darkhorse to go up and lead some laps and finish 4th to 8th today.
Mike (LA)
Mark - 18 and 26 or 07 and 1. Thanks
Mark Garrow (11:59 AM)
07 and 1 feel a little safer to me..
Ricky Tailgate, Moonshine Creek WV
Mark, looking to wrap up back to back segments and the title in my league. You always give me the best advice, so I'm going to throw some lineups at you tell me what you think. 48 18 17 2 44 or 48 99 17 2 10 or 48 18 17 26 44 or 48 6 17 2 26, what do you think. Thanks for all the help.
Mark Garrow (12:00 PM)
I'd go with 48,18,17,26, and 44
Janet (Ascutney Vt)
HI Mark, I have 42,26,8 and 6, I can only use the 8 once more, should I save him for the next race and use the 26 or use him up here?
Mark Garrow (12:01 PM)
I'd save the 8 for Phoenix...use 26 today.
doug(wis)
mark...did you get my earlier question on who has the better chance at a win or top 5, between #24 and #88?
Mark Garrow (12:02 PM)
24 is better than the 88..but don't see him winning or top-five...I can see him and 88 potetially in the top-10.
amanda, rhode island
how does my lineup look: 99,17,48,44 and 84? need big points this week...
Mark Garrow (12:03 PM)
You had me until you got all the way to 84..Need to rethink that one..
jb charlotte nc
pick 2 out of 4: jr., ragan, truex, ky busch
Mark Garrow (12:04 PM)
Kyle..and Junior
Aaron (WI)
Guru, love the advice every week. I just haven't been lucky enough to move into the top 5 in my group. Hopefully next year! Is this group too "Roush heavy," or is Roush the way to go this week? 99, 17, 26, 18, 44
Mark Garrow (12:05 PM)
That line-up should do okay...need 26 and 44 to come through with top-10 runs and you should be in good shape.
Carl Edwards
Hey Mark, need some advice, do you think I will be doing backflips today? Or will Someone else be in victory lane.I think the 18 is good, and the 17 looked good, look for that 44 too.
Mark Garrow (12:06 PM)
I think you're the man Carl...but how about changing things up..how about a double flip...how about a flip and a full twist....or how about a one and a half?...oops that would put you head first..probably wouldn't work but only once....
Mark Garrow (12:07 PM)
Some folks have asked me to pick my team today...going to take a minute to do that and I'll be right back..
Mark Garrow (12:12 PM)
Okay here's the team..I went top heavy with 99,17, and 48...then 44 and AJ...If he give me at least a top-15...I feel pretty good...And I hope 44 doesn't let me down or the second straight week.
Mike (LA)
Guru - I'm having a hard time taking Truex especially once you said that "he might fall back early". Truex oir McMurray? Final decision. Thanx
Mark Garrow (12:13 PM)
I still feel Truex is a little safer pick..McMuray may run better inside race but when its said and done I think Truex will finish better.
John ( NY)
44 is fast but fill he finish well?? Thats the problem. Like 42 last week. Your thoughts?
Mark Garrow (12:14 PM)
I'm banking 44 will finish as well as he'll run.
baggio (nyc)
Guru: who do you think is a safer bet for a top 15: 26 or 5?
Mark Garrow (12:14 PM)
My first reaction is the 5 because he's been pretty consistent top-15 for the past month or so.
Carl Edwards
Ok I think I'll go practice some flips, hop to see you in victory lane
Mark Garrow (12:15 PM)
Any thoughts on the one and half?
Shannon (N. Adams, Mass)
Guru, what do you think about 20 or 29?
Mark Garrow (12:16 PM)
I think they have a shot at a top-10...8th to 13th place finish kind of thing..
Jess ( Salen, ma)
48,99,8,44,26 Not Bad?
Mark Garrow (12:16 PM)
Not bad Jess...and good luck.
James (TX)
All Knowing Master of the Nascar Picks - 48,99,17,26,10 or 48,88,17,26,44?
Mark Garrow (12:18 PM)
James that's a close call..would rather have 99 than 88..but 10 is a top-15 car.all the cars in the second team are potential top-10..second team not as sexy but I think it scores better..not by much though.
big jim la mesa,ca.
mark your take on #'s 07,16,20,29,1,6,12,2.and another group..55,7,77,01,78,66. thanks
Mark Garrow (12:20 PM)
07 the best of the first group..then 20,29,16,2,6,12....second group...66,01,5,7,77,78
close to finalizing picks ....
48/17/18/44 and which of these ...1/2/26/42 ?
Mark Garrow (12:21 PM)
slight edge to 1..but not a bow-wow really in the group...all potential 8th to 15th place finishers..
Assassin
24, 16, 6 or 1 - who gives me the best finish?? Top5 or 10
Mark Garrow (12:22 PM)
He won't necessarily be a world beater but I'd go with 24.
Moss (New England)
Hey 20 or 17?Also two out of the folowing three: 6,5, or 8??And lastly 10 or 28?Thx Guru
Mark Garrow (12:23 PM)
17..5 and 8...10
Frank (Boston)
Guru, any word on Keselowski?? Are you sure you'd take Ambrose over him today??
Mark Garrow (12:24 PM)
They were pretty close to the vest this morning about Brad's chances...they just want him to finish...stay out of the way and cause no trouble for the "veterans".
Jordan (Kalamazoo, MI)
Whats up with Ragan???Not even in ur 2nd tier?
Mark Garrow (12:27 PM)
Again...Roush guys not sure about David today-tonight...probably should have listed on the second tier given past performance...but he's a little "iffy" today...could come through or might not be as good here as inititially expected.
Bill (Hooksett, NH)
OK fellow Granite Stater. My final team. Your thoughts ??48,99,17,26,44Thanks
Mark Garrow (12:27 PM)
It could rock...(pun intended) lol...
trey (raleigh,nc)
Should I go with 07 or 18?
Mark Garrow (12:29 PM)
I think the 18 has a shot to win...but 07 is top-five to top-10..
Rob (Elkhart, IN)
With you help I have my league pretty much wrapped up. Thanks for your help this season. Which do you like best 48,99,17,26,44 or 48,99,17,07,Ambrose?
Mark Garrow (12:30 PM)
Team one is a good prevent defense..no sense in going or the long bomb with Ambrose..
Mark Garrow (12:32 PM)
Folks ..hit the two hour mark.I"ve got to run and get ready for the PRN broadcast later today...we're on air 2:30 eastern..good luck with your teams and we'll chat again this week on Wednesday...The Guru has left the building...
