Mark Garrow (5:13 PM)
Guys sorry I'm very late...travel issues to Miami...I'll answer some questions in hope there are people still out there...Again, my apologies..
Harold (Midnight Blue Van)
Decision Time Guru! Which combo do you like best here on Wednesday: 17-5 or 99-10? The chosen combo goes with 16-6-26
Mark Garrow (5:14 PM)
I think on balance 17-5 should score a little better..99 and 17 should be close and I think 5 is safer pick than 10..Going heavy on Roush not a bad thing this weekend..
Chet (Stewed, BW)
Almighty Guru-inator!Which team looks like the higher scoring duo? 18-10 or 9-2? This is gonna be a fun week right up to race time for us fantasy guys!
Mark Garrow (5:15 PM)
Kasey Kahne hasn't done much of anything lately..so I think 18-10 is the way to go...18 should outscore 2..and if Kahne outscores 10 it won't be by much..but have you seen the 9's finishes lately?
mike (LA, CA)
mark - thanks for your help this year ... i am relatively new to nascar as a fan and it was my first season playing fantasy nascar on yahoo ... and i am in better shape than JJ as i dont even have to field a lineup this week with a 450 pt lead going into the final! - but of course i will, that would be rude not to ... so how would you rank the 24, 17, 11, 20 this early in the week - also, i think im going with the 26, 6, 1, and 5 in my B group ... do they look pretty good for this week or should i use the 42 or 9 in there somewhere thanks again for the help this year!
Mark Garrow (5:17 PM)
17,11,24,20 is how I'd rank that group..26 and 6 I can be sold on but 1 is pretty scary to me..and I'd stay away from 42 and 9...Montoya has been running pretty strong but finishes are pretty ugly..Kahne..throw out Charlotte and what exactly has he done for most of the year?
Tony D. ( Dallas, TX )
Hello Guru ! Last race of the season baby and I need to win my league. I have already used up my allocations of carl and jimmie. I need your help with picking 2 out of this bunch 17,2,11,29,24. I've researched a lot and my favorites are the 24,11 ... the 24 because he wants to win a race so bad ( and has a bunch of top 5s and 10s on this track ) and Denny because if you throw out one bad outing on this track is he has an excellent average here. I know this is a roush track and common sense says the 17 but give it to me straight BIG GUY !
Mark Garrow (5:18 PM)
I like the 17 and 11 the bedst in this group..no big bow-wow among the other three ...all top-10 potential going in..So I can live with the 11 but I'd be willing to bet 17 will outrun the 24...
Drew P. ( Big D, Texas )
Hey Mark ! Out of this bunch pick FOUR ... 6,9,26,1,12,42,5. Out of this bunch pick TWO ... 10,44,28,15. Man on man is JMac hot and the 6 did good @ Phoenix. I have to admit a lot of peeps got burned by the 1 . It seems to me that the 12 and 5 ran very decent until some mishaps. Very hard to choose from that group. And the 44 burned us in the bottom group. The Dinger did it again, do you expect good things out of him, he clearly favors the 1.5 track and I'm about tried of trusting the 44. The 28 has done decent on these types of tracks. Anywho ... lay it down like we wuz in funkytown !
Mark Garrow (5:21 PM)
6,5,26, and then the 1...I know he burned a lot of people last week, but he was top-10 at Texas..the last 1.5-mile track..and 15th at Atlanta....In the second groupp 10 and 44...Reutimann was 10th at Texas...Allmendinger driving his guts out trying to find another ride..
Ed (Petersburg, WV)
Guru, here's my thinking on Johnson at Homestead...he only needs a 36th place finish (without leading a lap) and has the championship virtually locked up. I don't think he runs that hard and plays it safe to finish comfortably but not a top ten. Please give me your thoughts on Johnson racing at Homestead because I'm thinking of dropping him for this race. Thanks.
Mark Garrow (5:22 PM)
I'd drop him too because you're right he's not looking to score max points..He's going to find a nice place to ride and hide..then cruise home 7th to 13th..
Hot Mama-CALI
Well Mr Guru, last race...kindof sucks but to the point-haha.... Pick one 99,24 Pick 2- 26,6,1,16 and pick one 83,10,or the 44??Thanks and have a great holiday season!!:)
Mark Garrow (5:25 PM)
99...26,26....as for the 83 remember that car is going to be driven by Scott Speed and Vickers will be in the 84...that whole mess is hard to figure..but Vickers has been top-15 basically in last 4 races on 1.5-mile tracks so I'm going with him over 44 and 10..
Derek (Alexandria, Va)
Thanks for a great season. How real are the rumors of a major car manufacturer dropping out of NASCAR and how would it impact next season?
Mark Garrow (5:26 PM)
If anyone drops out it will probably be Dodge..but here they have the money to support Cup teams and nothing else...Just so you know as far as impact..Jack Roush said that 20 percent of their budget is supplied by Ford.
mike ct
I need help mark? in my fantasy nascar all i have left are 48,26,or the 5 car do you think jimmy will go for the win just for hahas?Plese tell me your thoughts you have been good luck all year, also tell me if you think jaime mcmurry can win this week or can casey mears? rank them also can you rank yours? big thanks
Mark Garrow (5:27 PM)
26 and 5 are sure going to be a lot more aggressive than 48..JJ's going to just ride and try to finish top-10 without pushing it..I can see all three of your guys running top-10..maybe the 26 can go top-five again..
David in Nebraska
Mark, thanks for the great help all season... One more to go to keep my spot in the money. So far I have the 48,24,17,26,&44. I could also change out 44 for 10 if needed. Do you think the 48 will be giving it his all this last race? Would it be smart to change the 48 for the 16?
Mark Garrow (5:28 PM)
I'd swap the 48 for 16..Biffle will be going for all he can get but not Johnson..Reutiman was 10th at Texas so I'd be tempted to keep him, but Allmendinger is driving the lungs out of the 10..
Mike Oneonta NY
who should i sit this week? brandon jacobs, chris johnson, or deangelo williams?
Mark Garrow (5:29 PM)
Haven't got a clue ..sorry..
Ryan in Lincoln
Mark the Guru! Will the 26 keep up his streak? what about the 17? Is it true what the rumors are saying about Mark in the 84 this week?
Mark Garrow (5:30 PM)
26 is on a roll...let it ride..17 will be very good ...Mark will not drive the 84....Vickers and Speed will swap numbers if not teams..that was plan B...GM nixed original one-race deal with Mark.
Rich (Saint peters, mo.)
Hey Guru, Well this is it...i'm thinking all rousch this week...one question i thought Mark Martin was going to run the #5 car this week? Who would you go with 16 or 99, then 6 or 26. Thank you for the great year and we'll talk to you in Feb. Already for the Hendrick Domination!!!!
Mark Garrow (5:31 PM)
No..Mark was scheduled to take the weekend off..there was talk about him running this car a month or so ago but they decided against it..99 and 26 would be my pick out of that group..but none will burn you..And thanks for the props..
The Flaming Mexicano....Miami,Fl
Hey there Mark my homie what do you say how you do today I say my main man Montoya you know the 42 has a great finish to his rookie season top 3 possible winner, winner chicken dinner...Do you feel the same...thanks Bro
Mark Garrow (5:33 PM)
Sorry Bro...Montoya races great..finishes terrible...a magnet for trouble...but I'll bet you a chicken dinner and hope I'm wrong because JPM has certainly deserved better lately.
Big Poppa..Hotlanta
Well big Mark what do you say this week i say you better Mark it down the its going to be a city of brotherly love this week the Busch brothers finish off the season 1 and 2 now tell me how you feel do you think the weasels finish 1 and 2 this week
Mark Garrow (5:34 PM)
Big Poppa...where's the Busch brother love man?...18 will be up near the front..and 2 will be okay..maybe top-10...Shrub will make a run at top-five..but I don't see either top-2..sorry amigo..
Big BULL....Fl
Tell me how you feel about the 77 this week top 3 possible top 5 ...im on this upset big time this week....Have a great evening
Mark Garrow (5:35 PM)
Do we have to do this every week Big Bull?..lol...Chance of that happening...zip..zero..nada...
Cactus Jack (New Mex)
does the vickers/speed swap move speed up to a usable level?
Mark Garrow (5:36 PM)
Stay away from Speed like he has a communicable disease...He has really struggled and he's making Allmendinger look really good.
Big Mama (Yazoo)
i have planned all season for this race- 99 and 16 are locked. 26 or 6 and 10 or 44. Im guessing the Mac will win or wreck trying.
Mark Garrow (5:37 PM)
I'd go 26 and 44...and I believe Big Mama is right about JMac..
Mike (Texas)
No question for you this week Guru. I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for your chats each week and especially on Sundays. You insight and info is tremendous. In the end I always make my own decisions about who to go with but your info, and the way you present it, helps me sort out my picks each week. More importantly, your chats bring us fans "into the garage" with you every weekend which enhances my enjoyment of the race each week. Your chats are "can't miss" each week. Heck, when i go to a race I have to call my wife and have her read me the chat or I feel like I am missing out. LOL. Thanks again for every thing. I hope you intend to do this again next year.
Mark Garrow (5:38 PM)
Mike..thanks very much for the nice note...It's make anyone feel good to be appreciated and I can tell you with my right hand to the sky I really try to bring my best to the table every week.
Kevin, St Clair Shores, MI
Mark thanks for the help last week. I took over 1st by 50 points, need your help to win my 1st championship, who do you like out of the following groups to give me the championship. Group A: 17,29,31,or 99. Group B: 1,6,16,18,26. Group C. 10,28,44,or 83. If you think there is anybody better then who I picked throw them in, I can't use the 48 or 88. Thanks again for your help this season, will chat with you one more time on sunday, have a great week.
Mark Garrow (5:40 PM)
In group A I rank them 99,17,31,29...Group B..16,26,18,6,1...Group C...83,44,10,28..and you're welcome..
Ken (Hendersonville, NC)
Mark:: Since you put so much on recent race performance, who do you like for Homestead?Kennseth or Biffle. Gregg?s last five races are 11th, 5th, 10th, 12th & 7th while Matt?s last five races are 15th, 9th, 4th, 8th & 41st. Except for Kennseth?s wreck a Lowes, which I tend to throw out, it looks pretty close. Biffle has the best average there at 138.33 and has won there 3 times. Matt?s average is just 109.8 but he has 3 straight Top 6s and a win last year. When I toss the coin in the air, at least for now, which head do you think will come up.
Mark Garrow (5:42 PM)
I like Biffle a little bit better than Kenseth..but here's the good news..they should finish within two to three spots of each other either way..so it's not much of a risk..certainly nothing to get too worried about..I think Biffle will be more aggressive in this race and that's really why I give him nod over Kenseth.
Daniel(Indiana)
hey there Mark, need you do some rankings for me if you can sir. The best of of this group: 17, 11, 07, 20, 29 & 24 out of this group: 1, 5, 9, 12, 43, 42 and out of this group: 44, 28, 15, and 8. thanks so much Mark, you rock!
Mark Garrow (5:44 PM)
17, are top-2 in first group...Second group..5,1,9,42,12,43...not much there beyond 5 and 1..Last group ranked..44,28,8,15..
Gary: Dearborn,MI
Hey mark what's up! Can you rank six non-chase drivers for this weekend race at Homestead?
Mark Garrow (5:45 PM)
26, 6, 5,1,2 and 84 (Vickers)...
James (Seattle WA)
Need to pick one driver out of these 3 for this week's race: 31, 29 or 20??? Thanks
Mark Garrow (5:47 PM)
I'd probably go with the 20 because he'll be going all out in last race for Gibbs...safest pick in this bunch is always 31..
Dave (Memphis)
Guru, please pick 2 -- 99, 48, 24, 17, you da man!
Mark Garrow (5:47 PM)
99 and 17...then show me the money!
Ken (Hendersonville, NC)
Ditto from me as far as Mike in Texas. I have been following your chat sessions since your first days at Fantasy Cup...glad your over here now.
Mark Garrow (5:48 PM)
Thanks Ken..
Larry:(Raleigh,Nc)
I am in Yahoo Fantasy in C Group which Two would yuou go with 10,44 or Vickers in 83 or 84
Mark Garrow (5:48 PM)
Vickers and Reutiman..
Ed (Petersburg, WV)
Guru, would you suggest going heavy on the Roush cars at Homestead? Please give me a few other names that should be good at Homestead? Thanks, dude!!!
Mark Garrow (5:49 PM)
Yes, going heavy on Roush at Homestead will probably be a good thing..All five of his guys could run top-10..and 99,17, and 16 could make a push to win it..
Frank (PA)
I gotta pick either the 07 or the 20 this week and it could cost me 1st place. Which one and why? Thanks!
Mark Garrow (5:52 PM)
Wow Frank...I'm feeling the pressure...I've just looked at some stats three times..Neither sets my heart on fire going in..but I think Stewart and the Toyota horsepower should be in good shape..and really think he's going to be pushing to leave Gibbs on a high note..So, I'm leaning towards the 20..
Henry :(Chase City,Va.)
What's up Guru I am in Yahoo Fantasy only can use driver 9 times a year& I am only 12 points out of first and we both have the same driver left.we both have used the 48 for my 9th and final time in the A Group so I need Two for this week driver I know I will have the 99 which other to go with 99 2,07,11,17,20,24,29,31 in the B Group I need 4 driver and I am out of the 88. 1,5,6,16,18,26,42.In the C Group I need 2 Drivers.10,15,28,44,Vickers 83or84 have heard he will drive the 84
Mark Garrow (5:54 PM)
I'd team the 99 with either the 17 or the 11..17 feels safer to me..Second group..6,16,18 and 26...In C...VIckers and Reutiman..and yes Vickers will drive the 84...
Adam (Crown Point, IN)
Who are your top five drivers for homestead?
Mark Garrow (5:55 PM)
Adam, I'll do you 15 better..here's my pre-race top-20..Carl Edwards 2. Greg Biffle 3. Kyle Busch 4. Denny Hamlin 5. Matt Kenseth 6. Jimmie Johnson 7. Jamie McMurray 8. Jeff Gordon 9. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. 10.Jeff Burton 11.Kevin Harvick 12.David Ragan 13.Clint Bowyer 14.Tony Stewart 15.Kurt Busch 16.Casey Mears 17.Brian Vickers 18.David Reutimann 19.Martin Truex, Jr. 20.A.J. Allmendinger
Lee (Dallas)
Will Jimmie run hard this week or points race, and who is the first to the checkers on sunday?
Mark Garrow (5:55 PM)
Yes, Jimmie will stroke and Edwards won't.
Larry:(Raleigh,Nc)
I have seen that Vickers will Qualify the 84 this week.Let say he didn't qualify on time and miss the race could Red Bull still put him back in the 83 for the race
Mark Garrow (5:57 PM)
They could..I think...not sure on that one...he should easily qualify though..
Ed (La)
17 and 55 or 2 and 5? Gonna ride 48, 99, and 26 for the other three. What do you think of the Ganasi-Earnhardt merger? Any line on the 4th driver to go with Truex, Almirilo, and JPM?
Mark Garrow (5:58 PM)
55? are you nuts..2 and 5 should score more points..I'd also think about swapping out 48 because he's not going to be pushing it at all..As far as fourth driver they were seriously talking with Riggs for awhile...Allmendinger wanted to talk more about it but my sources tell me Ganassi doesn't like him for some reason..
Matt (Albuquerque, NM)
Mark, thanks for the help all year! I haven't yet clinched the title my league, but with a 318 pt lead, I'm feeling good heading into Homestead. How does this look for an initial cut on my yahoo roster: A: 48,99 B: 16, 26, 6, 5 C: 44, 10 ? Is 17 worth a look in the A group? What about 28 and 15 in the C group? Thanks a bunch guru!
Mark Garrow (5:59 PM)
I'd swap out 48 for 17...and the rest let it ride..and then show me the money!...not al of it...just my agents 10 percent cut...lol..
Todd:(Myrtle Beach,Sc)
How would you rank these driver this week 2,11,17,24,48,99,B Group 1,5,6,9,12,16,18,26,42,C Group 10,44,Vickers in 83 or 84
Mark Garrow (6:01 PM)
99,17,11,24,48,2...Group B...16,26,18,6,5,1,12,42,9....Group C..Vickers..44 and 10...shouldn't see a big difference in these three..
chris,paradise ca.
I have my lineup mostly set. 99,18,16,26,vickers. i play in a pickum leage and i need one more from the c group. please pick 55,01,77,25, s speed,47,96. Also i would like to say thanks. im going to finish in the money this season thanks to you. you are the GURU!!!!!!!
Mark Garrow (6:03 PM)
I'll tell you what I was impressed with Brad Keselowski at Texas..finished 19th and actually ran a little better than that..I give him a little edge for upside against Ambrose.
Dave, Clarion, PA
My fantasy Rbs are hurt'in...I have M. Lynch -ok Mcfadden - droppable dissappointment J. Stewart-dissappointing & Felix Jones I was able to use Ryan Torain last week, but I need BIG help! Who do you recommend picking up to fill an empty hole in my Back-feild? Who would be likely to produce week in and week out, barring injury? Free agents in my league are: Benjarvus Green-Ellis - NE Payton Hillis - Den Tatum Bell - Den Carnel Williams - TBB Shaun Alexander - Was.
Mark Garrow (6:04 PM)
I recommend going with Big Mama and Big Poppa...big hitters...just kidding everyone ...lol...
dale wistrum (BAMA)
HAY DUDES SO...DO YOU THINK 48 IS THE BEST
Mark Garrow (6:04 PM)
He's going to win the title for the third straight time..so yeah he's the best right now..need to give him another two to three seasons and then can start really judging where he stands among all the other greats..
OH HI O(bama)
same dude ok i dont even like nascar
Mark Garrow (6:05 PM)
Common man...I won't hold it against you that you don't like NASCAR...as long as you still love me because I voted for the other guy...lol.
chris,paradise ca.
do you think ambrose can finish in the 20s and what about brad keslowsky? he didnt look half bad at texas, finished 19th
Mark Garrow (6:07 PM)
I like Brad a little better than Ambrose in this race..I think Brad's equipment a little better and Ambrose has the added pressure of trying to hold on to the 35th and final spot in the owners standings..He's got only 17 points to play with so they will be aggressive and I don't see that as being a god thing..
Me in Fla
Hey Mark can you rank these drivers and give me your thoughts on who is better to put in the line up Ambrose, Almirola, Kvapil, AJ
Mark Garrow (6:08 PM)
AJ is potential top15 and I don't see anyone else in this group that good..I'd probably rank them 10,47, 28, and 8
Ken (Hendersonville, NC)
Mark: Are you beginning to warm up to Ambrose? Ambrose and 4 other "A" drivers have scored 700+ each time he has raced.
Mark Garrow (6:09 PM)
Yes, I am...He may be one of those guys who's more at home with the Cup horsepower and Car than he is in Nationwide..others like that Johnson, Gordon, Stewart to name a few..Marcos has done a nice job and it will be interesting to see what he does racing week in, week out.
Adam (Crown Point, IN)
I need Cousin Carl to pull out a win this week to bring home a fantasy title, how do you like his chances?
Mark Garrow (6:10 PM)
I think they are good...Carl's going to victory lane or back to the garage on the end of a hook..He's going to throw everything and the kitchen sink at it.
doug(wis)
hey mark...if #48 is almost assured a top 8-15th finish, shouldn't you keep him on your team?
Mark Garrow (6:12 PM)
If you're trying to max points I don't think so...17 will be pushing it harder and in SCC value he's lower and could provide some more manueverability..Again, Jimmie's engine is going to be de-tuned and he's going to ride..unless there's heavy attrition and only 35 cars are running...If that happens he'll go to the whip, but I still don't see him beating Edwards or 17 or 16 for tha matter.
butternutts lenoir nc
Who's online track for the TARGET sponsorship with the DEI Merger? Could Johnny Benson be on board?
Mark Garrow (6:13 PM)
Don't see that...here Target deal would be switched to Montoya.
Mark (ft worth)
I still have 48, 18, 88, and 83 or 84 (bv) would you recommend throwing that out there for the finale?
Mark Garrow (6:14 PM)
I'd rank these cats...18,88,48, and Vickers..
Todd:(South Boston,Va.)
How would you rank these driver by list 2,11,17,24,48,99/ 1,6,9,12,16,18,26,42/10,15,28,44,Vickers83or84
Mark Garrow (6:15 PM)
99,17,11,24,48,2...16,26,18,1,6,42,12,9...Vickers..44..10,15,28
sugar (ark)
how do you see ambrose's career play out in the cup series?
Mark Garrow (6:16 PM)
I hope he does well..seems like a genuinely nice guy and I think he race too.
Steven from Houston, TX
howdy Mark, need you do some driver rankings for me if ya can. Pick one from this list: 17, 24, 20, 29, 11 & 07 one from this list: 1, 5, 9, 43, 42, & 19 and finally, one from this list: 44, 28, 15, 8, 66 and 55. thanks a bunch and I appreciate the help dude, you're bad-2-da-bone!
Mark Garrow (6:16 PM)

Mark Garrow (6:17 PM)
17,11...6,26,5, and 1..44 and 10...
doug(wis)
mark..me again..in fantasycup, with a large cap, I can keep 48 with 17 16 99 with my low end guy being 26.
Mark Garrow (6:18 PM)
Doug, you should score pretty good and ironically 48 might be your lowest driver among that group this week..
Mark Garrow (6:19 PM)
Got to run everybody...sorry about today's delay...you think you have plenty of time and oops...talk to everyone again Sunday morning from Homestead...The Guru has left the building.
