Chris Low (1:03 PM)
Hello. Anybody ready for some postseason football?
David(Olathe, KS)
What do you think about Texas tech vs Ole Miss?
Chris Low (1:06 PM)
Really intriguing matchup, certainly the toughest assignment for the SEC teams outside of Florida. Ole Miss has the defensive line to hold up, but Harrell gets rid of it so quickly and Ole Miss isn't very strong at cornerback. I think it has a chance to be one of the better bowls out there.
Bryan (Tampa)
Any word on when Percy will be at 100%?
Chris Low (1:07 PM)
He said after the Alabama game that two weeks should get him back as close to 100 percent as he's going to get before the BCS National Championship Game.
Jason (Lake Jackson TX)
What are the odds of a split National Title between Texas and either Oklahoma or Florida?
Chris Low (1:09 PM)
Don't see it happening. The only chance would be in the AP poll and Florida is No. 1 and Oklahoma is No. 2. The winner of that game will be No. 1 in the final poll.
Cass (Memphis TN)
Who should get SEC Coach of the year? Nick Saben, Urban Meyer, or Houston Nutt?
Chris Low (1:11 PM)
NIck Saban all the way. Urban Meyer did a great job and so did Houston Nutt and Bobby Johnson. But for Saban to do in his second year what he did with that program is what coach of the year awards are all about.
Ross (Oklahoma)
Do you want to throw out a score prediction for the BCS championship?
Chris Low (1:12 PM)
56-52 ... How's that?
Chris Low (1:13 PM)
I reserve the right to hold off on giving you the winning team.
cathy(NYC)
Are you a Notre Dame hater or something? I have never seen you answer a ND question.
Chris Low (1:14 PM)
Not a Notre Dame hater at all. What would you like for me to answer about the Irish?
McLovin (Long Beach, MS)
Do you think Tim Tebow will stay at UF or leave early for the NFL. Despite the MS this is a Gators fan
Chris Low (1:15 PM)
Tim said he was probably leaning toward staying. Honestly, I don't think his stock will go up or down regardless of when he enters the draft. You wonder, though, if the Gators win another national title this season if he decides at that point to walk away. It probably couldn't get any better
David (Atlanta)
Chris do you think we will ever have an 8 team playoff?
Chris Low (1:16 PM)
I'm keeping the faith and hoping. I do at some point, but I don't see it in the next 5-7 years.
Chris (Atlanta, GA)
Who do you think will win the Heisman? Do you get a vote and if so who will you vote for?
Chris Low (1:17 PM)
I've already voted, and my ballot was: 1. Tebow, 2. Bradford, 3. McCoy
Ross (Oklahoma)
Here's a Notre Dame question....What are their chances of having a 10 win season next year under Weis?
Chris Low (1:18 PM)
The schedule is pretty forgiving, but this year's schedule wasn't terrible, either. I don't see 10 wins, but eight or nine might be possible.
Ty (DC)
Corso seems to believe that the O-line of Oklahoma will overpower the Florida D-line...the SEC Championship game, to me, proved that Florida's D-line is capable of handling a bruising running game consisting of an O-line with several future NFL players... So what is your take on whether 'Bama's O-line if "fat and slow" versus Oklahoma's O-line being "quicker" than 'Bama's O-line? And would it cause the problems for Florida getting pressure on Bradford like Corso suggests?
Chris Low (1:21 PM)
First of all, I wouldn't call Alabama's offensive line fat and slow. Andre Smith and Antoine Caldwell will both play in the NFL for a long time. The Gators use Brandon Spikes a bunch in passing situations, and I'd say that role will only grow against Oklahoma. Florida's defense is pretty good, much better than Oklahoma's defense.
Nate (Atlanta)
TEBOW # 1. You must be out of your mind. 19 QBs COMPLETED more passes then he ATTEMPTED. Get off the SEC juice!
Chris Low (1:23 PM)
28 passing TDs and only two interceptions to go along with 12 rushing TDs, and most importantly, a guy that elevated the play of everyone else around him. The Gators followed his lead to the SEC title. Doesn't mean Bradford or McCoy are somehow inferior. Both guys had great years. I just happen to think Tebow is as good a college football player as I've seen in my lifetime.
Mike (Clearwater, FL)
The Auburn coaching search seems to be going all over the place. Any idea of whom is leading?
Chris Low (1:26 PM)
I wonder if the Auburn brass thought it would be this hard. They got Houston Nutt a big raise, and Georgia Tech is in the process of sweetening Paul Johnson's deal. Some of the latest names include Buffalo's Turner Gill and Florida State coach in waiting Jimbo Fisher, but I don't think the FSU president is going to let Fisher out of hs pricey buyout. I'd also keep an eye on Louisiana Tech's Derek Dooley.
Jason (San Antonio)
Chris, do u think anyone can slow down that explosive Oklahoma Offense?
Chris Low (1:28 PM)
Florida might be able to slow the Sooners down some, but I don't see the Gators holding them all the way down. To win this game, I think Florida might have to score 40-plus ... and the Gators are certainly capable.
chris (texas)
I have been watching college ball for a while now. Have not argued with most hiesman winners.... What do most people look for in a the hiesman voting????
Chris Low (1:31 PM)
How that guy played in the big games, his overall numbers, what impact he had on the rest of his team and how successful his team was.
Blake (Abilene, Texas)
Chris, McCoy and Tebow seem to have similar games if you switched jerseys besides Tebows weight could you tell them apart?
Chris Low (1:33 PM)
All three have had incredible years. Whoever you pick, you're going to have two groups of fans thinking their guy was shafted.
Brian (Orlando, FL)
Is it just me, or have the Gators seemed rather pedestrian on special teams the past few weeks? Some long returns vs. FSU, and no blocked kicks or big returns since the SC game. Is it the better competition, or have they been figured out?
Chris Low (1:34 PM)
Excellent point. Their kickoff coverge, in particular, has been spotty. It's also been a while since Brandon James got loose on a punt return. With how explosive Oklahoma is on offense, special teams will be critical for Florida.
Jake (SLC)
What chance do you give Utah in the Sugar Bowl? Is their D strong enough to keep the game close throughout?
Chris Low (1:37 PM)
Yes, I give Utah a chance. The Utes have played some pretty strong defense down the stretch and can score points. I think the game comes down to Utah being able to slow down Alabama's running game.
Austin (Atlanta, GA)
Chris, I am a very proud Ole Miss fan. Do you foresee Ole Miss making a legitimate run at the SEC West title next season?
Chris Low (1:40 PM)
With Auburn in transition and LSU down, there would seem to be an opening. Alabama will still be the favorite, but the Tide will lose a bunch of key seniors and likely star offensive tackle Andre Smith, who's expected to come out early. Plus, Ole Miss gets Alabama in Oxford next year, so it could be interesting.
Clay Utah
If the Utes win, should they recieve a share of the title since they are undefeated and beat the same team Florida did??? I mean come on when you go 3-1 in bowl games, at what point do you give respect???
Chris Low (1:42 PM)
The Utes just aren't in the same class as Florida or Oklahoma, but they are a very deserving team. If they beat Alabama, then I would have them as a very solid Top 4 team.
Brendan (Sevilla, ES)
Is there any chance of changing the BCS format to include the best teams in the nation rather than teams that get in through contractual obligation? The ACC and Big East??? Seriously? I'd much rather see a Texas Tech vs. Boise State game, at least those two teams have some right to say that they're in the top 8
Chris Low (1:43 PM)
I think we're pretty much stuck with what we have. Texas Tech is hurt by the rule that limits conferences to two teams in the BCS.
Bones (Johns Island, SC)
Hey Chris, how bad do the Gamecocks beat Iowa in Tampa? Do you think the new kinder, gentler Steve Spurrier will make a difference?
Chris Low (1:46 PM)
Kinder, gentler Spurrier? He's as frustrated with his QB play as he's ever been. The Gamecocks should be ashamed of themselves for the way they played in the loss to Clemson. This is a chance to make amends, and I think Ellis Johnson's defense comes through against Shonn Greene and Co.
Jason (Athens, GA)
Chris, please tell me that Mark Richt and company will be on the hot seat next year if they don't deliver at least an SEC championship??
Chris Low (1:49 PM)
What has the SEC created? Richt on the hot seat? Are you serious? The guy wins 10 games every year. He's won the SEC title twice in the last seven years and he's as classy a representative for the University of Georgia as you're ever going to find. Surely, you jest.
Derrell (Peachtree city Ga)
Do you think Julio Jones Alabama's freshman reciever would be a top 20 pick in the draft this year if he were elligible
Chris Low (1:51 PM)
If I were an NFL scout, I'd have to take a long look at him. He sure looks NFL-ready with his size, hands and strength. His adjustments on the ball while it's in the air are just something you don't see every day as a freshman. One on one, he's so difficult to cover and simply doesn't go down on the first hit.
Ralph (ATL, GA)
Who do you think will have a bigger day in the Capitol One Bowl: Knowshon or Javon Ringer?
Chris Low (1:53 PM)
Ringer will get more carries, and Moreno will get more yards.
Jason (Norman, OK)
Your title says it all, you covered the SEC for a decade. Dont you think your a little biased even though you might not see it? I mean Tebow over Bradford! Its obvious you have not watch a single game of him playing.
Chris Low (1:56 PM)
Where were you in 2003 when I voted for Jason White?
Jordan (Melbourne, FL)
Do you think there s there any chance Stafford and/or Moreno will be back next year to make a more legitimate shot at a SEC/BCS title given that they didn't get the national attention that everyone expected this year?
Chris Low (1:57 PM)
I'd place Stafford at about 90 percent gone and Moreno around 80 percent.
Forde, Charlotte
Who will come in after Spurrier? Will USC appoint a "coach in waiting" in Ellis Johnson or Spurrier Jr?
Chris Low (1:58 PM)
I'd like to see Ellis Johnson get a chance if the Gamecocks go that route. He knows that state, has head coaching experience and is a strong leader.
Chris Low (1:58 PM)
Wade (Houston, TX)
Why are you backtracking now? Your other article said Florida would beat OU!! No bias on your part huh???
Chris Low (1:59 PM)
And I still believe that.
Eric (Venice, CA)
Chris, You do not think USC's #1 defense would slow down OU??? OU has not played a defense in the top 50 all year.
Chris Low (2:01 PM)
I think Oklahoma is good enough offensively that the Sooners would score a bunch of points against anybody they play this season.
Chris Low (2:03 PM)
Thanks for the questions. I'm sure we'll debate the Tebow/Bradford/McCoy thing some more next week and I'm looking forward to it.
