Paul Kuharsky (2:58 PM)
Greetings folks. Lots lined up here waiting for me already. I'll do my best to catch up....
Stephen (Hendersonville, TN)
I am curious as to your reaction of the NFL "flexing" the Giants-Panthers game on 12/21 instead of the Titans-Steelers game. Both games feature one team who has locked up the division and a second team who is battling for a division and home field advantage. However, as a reward for losing to the Eagles, the Giants get the prime time game. Small market teams will never get the exposure or respect as long as the NFL continues to push the "poster boys".
Paul Kuharsky (3:00 PM)
This has nothing to do with market size. CBS and FOX are able to protect certain games. The league couldn't just give NBC any game it wanted, or the other two networks would be cheated. Steelers-Titans is protected by CBS, therefore not an option to move to the night slot...
Will J (Portland, OR)
Do you see Jacksonville increasing the workload for MJD if Taylor is indeed out the rest of the year? I would hope not (for his sake).
Paul Kuharsky (3:01 PM)
Good point. He'll get some more, but they'll have to go deeper on the depth chart too. How about some Chauncey Washington?
Josh (Indy)
What are you thoughts on Marvin Harrison? Will he call it quits after the season? No way the Colts bring him back at 13 mil next year
Paul Kuharsky (3:02 PM)
You would think this is his last hurrah. But most guys don't let go easily, He may make them be the bad guys...
Phil (Raleigh, NC)
I know the Texans are this week for the Titans but what do you feel the keys are going to be in the Pittsburgh game?
Paul Kuharsky (3:03 PM)
Titans finding a way to move the ball and get a couple TDs not just FGs...
Ross (Pasadena, TX)
Do you see Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson being together for more than this season and next?
Paul Kuharsky (3:03 PM)
Yes. I would think the team would look to lock them both up long term unless Schaub has further injury issues...
Bart (Milligan College, TN)
Hey PK, where aer you going to be this weekend?
Paul Kuharsky (3:04 PM)
Houston. Hard to miss a game featuring two of my teams when the others aren't too attractive...
David Austin, Tx
Do you think the Texans have any chance at beating the Titans this sunday at Reliant?
Paul Kuharsky (3:04 PM)
Yes. They have to play close to mistake-free though. If they turn the ball over like usual, no...
Robert (Nashville, TN)
Paul, I saw this today: Tennessee Titans: Did not participate in Wednesday practice - CB Cortland Finnegan (hamstring), CB Nicholas Harper (ankle), DT Albert Haynesworth (knee), LB David Thornton (hip), DE Kyle Vanden Bosch (groin), RB LenDale White (knee). Are these precautionary measures being taken by Fisher, or are these injuries going to keep the majority of these guys out vs. Houston?
Paul Kuharsky (3:06 PM)
It's not usual to rest hurt guys during the week. The majority will play, I'd expect. I think KVB could sit...
Dave (Canada)
If the NFL got rid of the salary cap which team would most likely become the Yankees of football and try to buy a Superbowl?
Paul Kuharsky (3:06 PM)
That's easy: the Cowboys...
The Bandit (Nashville)
Hey Paul, it's your boy The Bandit. Do you see the Texans going after a big time DC for next year, considering their offense is starting to play better and Kubiak believes they can win with the talent he has on offense?
Paul Kuharsky (3:07 PM)
There is some talk he could promote from within. But there will be lots of great choices from outside...
Nate (Dickson, TN)
Hey Paul... Am I right to be conserned about the Titans injuries at corner? I felt a lot better before King went down.
Paul Kuharsky (3:08 PM)
I don't know, are you the type of guy who needs to worry and panic about something at all times? If so, worry away. If not, they are banged up corners like every team has. When Harper plays he's fine, he takes way too much flak from fans. Teams complete passes in the NFL all the time. King was better than Carr as the third for sure...
Josh (Charlotte, NC)
You mean you don't want to go to Indy and watch the powerhouse Lions play Indy?
Paul Kuharsky (3:09 PM)
I saw that game already, on Thanksgiving. Titans played the role of the Colts...
Josh (Charlotte, NC)
Do you think the Colts can win games in January without a run game? I know they have P Manning, but when it's 15 outside in Pit, can they pull it out through the air?
Paul Kuharsky (3:09 PM)
That's the million dollar question. Tough to win up there twice if you're not running it effectively at all...
Joey (Rochester, New York)
Paul or any Colts fan out there. Can someone please justify for me how according to the Pro Bowl fan voting that Jeff Saturday and Bob Sanders received the 2nd most votes at there positions? With 13 games played so far Jeff Saturday has only played in 9 games. Bob Sanders has missed 8 games, played 5 games and only has 22 tackles, 14 assists, 1 INT & only 2 pass defended. Forget the names, these players are not Pro Bowlers this year. If they get elected, it's an outrage to the fans & other players who are more deserving.
Paul Kuharsky (3:11 PM)
I won't be popular for saying this, but fans in general and in big numbers are not real smart when given Pro Bowl ballots. They vote for names they recognize, and have no idea who's been out hurt. Players and coaches should correct such errors with their votes and make them meaningless...
Younger (Los Angeles, CA)
I know this isn't your area but it is Thursday and there is only one game. Who do you think wins Bears or Saints?
Paul Kuharsky (3:11 PM)
I like the Bears. Been let down too often by the Saints...
Daniel Davenport, Boston, MA
What's going on in Jax? Everyone seems disinterested except maybe MJD. Is Del Rio on the hot seat at all?
Paul Kuharsky (3:12 PM)
Nope, thanks to that nice contract he got. Guys are ready to golf or get to a beach. I don't know how you hold on to a team, but he hasn't....
mini-chief (Nashville, TN)
Did you ever find your "backside" from this morning's discussion?
Paul Kuharsky (3:13 PM)
Wasn't mine I was looking for, too hard to miss...
JL (Hoboken, NJ)
PK...Is head to head the first tie-breaker? I was wondering what would happen if the Titans lose to the Stillers and end up with identical records
Paul Kuharsky (3:13 PM)
Yes, head to head...
$Robby$ Indianapolis,IN
W/ the Colts playing the Lions this sunday do you think this is a trap game so to speak? Granted the Colts are playing for Playoff postioning so they should take care of business. The Lions are im sure gonna try there hardest not to be the 0-16 firsts..so what are you thoughts for this sunday?
Paul Kuharsky (3:14 PM)
I don't believe in trap games, certainly not for good teams. And if this was one, the Colts would win 24-10 instead of 40-6...
andrew (brooklyn. ny)
paul, taking the plaxico situation into perspective during last week's game vs the eagles, do you see the lack of #1 wide reciever hurting eli's ability to take advantage or dump off on blitz situations. The gaints have excellent depth at wide receiver but it seems like manningham has no chemistry with eli and sinorice moss has yet to become a consistent reciever. If the giants fail to play at their previous high level during the playoffs, do you see the front office make a free agent WR move? also in response to dave, i would say the cowgirls and jerry jones would no doubt try to buy a super bowl
Paul Kuharsky (3:15 PM)
Give them more than one game to see how it sorts itself out. They are pretty good at working with what they have. Not like there are proven game-changing WRs coming free outside of Housh...
Mike (Iowa)
I know you're not a fantasy guy, but Peyton Manning vs. the Lions or Kurt Warner against the Vikings?
Paul Kuharsky (3:16 PM)
Manning....
Burwell (Addison, PA)
Is Gonzalez a long-term replacement for Harrison? I like him as a starter, but I love him as a slot Stokley type. I think he could really dominate in that role.
Paul Kuharsky (3:17 PM)
Replacement? Probably. Carbon copy? No. If Marvin is finished I'd expect them to add a WR in the draft...
Nate (Dickson, TN)
Fans should have no say in the Pro Bowl. Champion the cause PK!
Paul Kuharsky (3:17 PM)
Decreasing my popularity even further? I'll stick with my Fire Fulmer Again campaign...
Matt (NY, NY)
What are the chances PIT leaves Baltimore with way too many bruises to be able to last against the physical Titans the next week? Win or lose, Steelers are going to be worn down it seems.
Paul Kuharsky (3:18 PM)
I think you're overrating how much help BALT can be to TENN...
Russ (Maryland)
It's sad to say it, but will the Texans be using yet another high draft pick on a DL? Williams is a monster without help, and I could see him getting 20 sacks with another pass-rush threat.
Paul Kuharsky (3:18 PM)
They need more linemen. But I'd go safety first if there is a big time guy to be had....
$Robby$ Indianapolis,IN
Paul...thoughts on the Superbowl..yes i know its early, but i gotta ask...what do you see as a foreseeable Superbowl matchup this year?
Paul Kuharsky (3:20 PM)
I am reluctant. I'd say Giants from NFC with Atlanta as my possible surprise. I'm torn on Titans-Steelers and I'd say Indy as the potential surprise...
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
Where do you think the Titans go to replace schwartz if he does indeed leave to take a head coaching job?
Paul Kuharsky (3:20 PM)
To the office of the linebackers coach. Dave McGinnis...
Massey (Columbia, TN)
Hey Paul, I know its all fun and games with the duo of L.White and C.Johnson and D.Williams and J.Stewart over the 'Smash and Dash' nickname. But I think itd be great to have a Tennessee-Carolina matchup in the Super Bowl? Two great teams, two great teams in small markets, two great defenses, two qbs who have lead their teams to the promised land, and most importantly 4 running backs to settle the score the right way...on the field!!! What do you think? I know the league probably would not like it since both teams are small market teams but I think itd be a great matchup!
Paul Kuharsky (3:22 PM)
The NFL doesn't care if small market teams are in the SB. this isn't baseball. the ratings don't dive... People are going Carolina crazy off one great game. What happened when everyone when Jets crazy after their great win?
Justin (Manassas, VA)
I have a gut feeling that at some point this year the Titans are going to have to call on Vince Young to get things done in crunch time. Do you think he'll be able to answer the bell if that situation arises?
Paul Kuharsky (3:23 PM)
Why? Because of all these brutal shots KC is taking? Of course it can happen, but I feel like everyone who says that is trying to will it to happen. I have minimal confidence in VY. More importantly, I suspect Dinger has a similar feeling....
JL (Hoboken, NJ)
Given how well Michael Griffin is playing this year, what possessed the Titans to try to make him a corner initially?
Paul Kuharsky (3:23 PM)
CYA following Pacman. It was dumb...
Hosie Holomon III (Nashville, Tn)
Do I have to be logged in to participate?
Paul Kuharsky (3:24 PM)
I hear you Hosie...
$Robby$ Indianapolis,IN
One person that i havent heard alot of hype on w/ the Colts this year is Starting Strong-side Linebacker Clint Session..He's a total beast and great at finishing tackles..Honestly i gotta say he's Bob Sanders twin but alot bigger..Thoughts?
Paul Kuharsky (3:24 PM)
I am not as excited about him as you are. He's better than he was early...
Sam (TX)
Speaking of the Pro-Bowl, I would like to thank the NFL for once again neglecting its fans. Three months of voting and only one update to the leaders. When will the release the final fan votes?
Paul Kuharsky (3:25 PM)
Only one update? I've written three updates and have the final results up at the blog today...
Robert (Latrobe, PA)
He's not with the Titans anymore, but do you know what is up with David Givens? I know his knee injury was bad, but was it serious enough to end his career?
Paul Kuharsky (3:25 PM)
Have not heard anything about him since before the season. Many expected he'd never be able to play again...
Chris (Wilmington)
Will you post a link to fan voting results.
Paul Kuharsky (3:26 PM)
http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afcsouth/0-7-85/Final-fan-voting-for-Pro-Bowl.html
Josh (Charlotte, NC)
The titans have 2-3 players from Indy on D - they should hire Ron Meeks and take him from the Colts too!
Paul Kuharsky (3:26 PM)
Because their defense isn't very good with their current coaches? Dave McGinnis will be just fine for them...
Steve (Memphis,TN)
Toss Up: Better AFC South Rookie Running Back, Chris Johnson or Steve Slaton?
Paul Kuharsky (3:27 PM)
Johnson by a bit, largely because he's on a better team. Slaton is a pretty good value considering he was two rounds later..
Nate (Dickson, TN)
Paul... Nebraska... or Darkness on the Edge of Town?
Paul Kuharsky (3:27 PM)
Depends on my mood. Maybe Tunnel of Love...
Tony(Tampa)
Best successful long term career outlook: Matt Leinart or Vince Young.
Paul Kuharsky (3:28 PM)
I think Leinart. Gut feeling. Of course I haven't watched how he's carried himself this year from close range at all...
Sam (TX)
Paul I wasn't referring to you, but the NFL. How hard would it be to put a link on their site.
Paul Kuharsky (3:29 PM)
You have the whole world of the NFL to critique and you've chosen this as your issue? Really?
Ryan (Pittsburgh)
If the Steelers beat the Ravens, they lock up the 2 seed. Assuming that happens (and the Titans win this week), do you see Pittsburgh going all out the following week against the Titans? Even with a win, they'd still need the Titans to lose in the last week of the season. Thoughts?
Paul Kuharsky (3:30 PM)
Yes they'll go all out. Who stops playing when there are still things at stake?
Joey (Rochester, New York)
Some people in the media say the Titans aren't big players in Free Agency, so I did some digging and realized that they have 18 starters that came to the Titans via Free Agency/Offense - Kerry Collins, Ahmard Hall(Undrafted), Justin Gage, Justin McCariens, Alge Crumpler, Jake Scott, Kevin Mawae/Defense - Chris Hope, Nick Harper, David Thorton, Ryan Fowler(former starter), Kyle VandenBosch, Tony Brown, Jevon Kearse/Special Teams - Rob Bironas, Craig Hentrich, Josh Stamer & Chris Carr. Not bad!
Paul Kuharsky (3:31 PM)
Some people say they don't dish out big dollars to individuals, generally. And those people are correct. They are bargain shoppers, largely....
Kevin (Kinder,La)
Tim Layden had a Collins article today... You linked it... anyway, he said in it that Fisher hinted that Young could be mixed in... I don't recall that.. what is Layden talking about... please say it isn't so.
Paul Kuharsky (3:31 PM)
They say it to everyone who will listen. So that teams they play read it and say, 'We better prepare for that...'
Zac (Franklin, TN)
What do you think of Justin McCareins' second tour with the Titans. Has he lived up to the teams expecations. Also is Brandon Jones better suited for a role as a slot/third receiver or is he setting himself up to compete, if he resigns with the team, for the starting spot opposite Gage?
Paul Kuharsky (3:33 PM)
Good blocker with a nice contribution in the run game. I would hope Dinger would fess up and say he overestimated when he said he had enough once they got JM back. Jones is more effective now, but inconsistent. Give him more work and he doesn't definitely maintain the level of play. If they sign him back, it'll be cheap...
Scott (Indy)
Thanks for posting the link. Wow, fans really are stupid. D'Brickashaw and Light ahead of Roos, Stewart, and Winston?
Paul Kuharsky (3:34 PM)
That would be a nightmare. I want fans out, not in. If fans voted on MVP Favre or Peyton would win every year. It would be a disaster and it won't happen....
Kevin (Kinder,La)
The Titans seems to favor Johnson in tight games... White has gotten his carries of late but it has been against awful teams when the game is in hand. Are they too excited about Johnson.. I think White is a very good inside runner... he has great feet and vision and seems quicker this year. I would like to see him get more carries earlier.
Paul Kuharsky (3:35 PM)
I like Johnson early, get a lead and look to White late. Yes, they have to worry about distribution. But I'd want CJ on the field and with the ball in his hands as often as possible when the game is in question...
Jesse in Nashville
ahh.. chat time again.. hey PK - whats up with Cary Williams getting activated for the Titans. Is this just a spot filler for Vickerson or do you see him coming up in the ranks for good?
Paul Kuharsky (3:36 PM)
He's the 53rd man and won't be active. Doesn't really matter in the big picture unless there are injuries...
Scott (Chicago, IL)
What's your opinion on Okoye? Is he a bust or is he just still experiencing growing pains?
Paul Kuharsky (3:36 PM)
Good question. Think we answer it late summer 09..
Ryan (Denver)
Should Fisher have taken his own advice and taken Cutler instead of VY in the 06' draft?
Paul Kuharsky (3:37 PM)
Easy to say it now. Also Jerry Rice should have been the first overall pick in his draft...
Jesse in Nashville
Ward Cleaver at home?! Man your Zone buddies love to bust you when you are off air! You need to come gunz a'blazing next time.. tighten that bolt in Wycheck's neck.
Paul Kuharsky (3:38 PM)
Fill me in with an email, I missed it. Was listening to The Herd...
Nate (Dickson, TN)
The jags have really laid down... how are their fans dealing with it? Has a U-Haul shown up at the Del Rio's yet?
Paul Kuharsky (3:38 PM)
He's not getting fired so I hope not... Fans think they stink...
Kevin (Kinder,La)
Do you think that the Titans(Fisher/Adams) believe that it doesn't take a WR too win? They have been burned in both the draft (Dyson) and free agency (Givens,Pickens,Thigpen) over the years. Have they just given up on WRs?
Paul Kuharsky (3:40 PM)
Um, yeah... Not given up, but satisfied with Gages and Joneses. Bud isn't determining who they chase in free agency or making decisions on draft day. He influenced one pick out of the last how many?
Nigel, NY
FYI. Slaton and Chris Johnson have literally identical stats. Look them up
Paul Kuharsky (3:40 PM)
I know. I said virtually the same, advantage CJ for being on a better team. Titans have a much better record. Look them up...
anonymous (not tennesee)
Is this the PK chat hour with kevin in kinder and jesse in nashville? i thought it was an AFC South chat.
Paul Kuharsky (3:42 PM)
We've talked more Colts, Texans and Jags than usual, which pleases me. I answer what seem to be the most interesting questions, hardly look at the names, anonymous, honest. Ask something non-Titans...
Mac (Indy, IN)
On your Blogger's Blitz appearance, you stated your opinion that the Colts are back on the winning track because of the play of Peyton. I disagree. I think the Colts D has tightened up. They've been more opportunistic, and they've been able to pressure the QB better. On the offensive side, the O-line play has most definitely improved. The you guys have stepped up, gelled as a unit, and have been creating holes for the runners and kept Manning upright. And Manning has played better because of that new comfort level. Agree or disagree?
Paul Kuharsky (3:43 PM)
Largely agree -- not so much about holes for runners, but about defense. Look for post that went up a while ago about defense. Can't go more than one direction in a short TV answer...
Jerry (FL)
Reggie Nelson got all the accolades last year because of his five interception, but I'd take Michael Griffin over him any day of the week. Opinion?
Paul Kuharsky (3:44 PM)
Toss up. Hard to get the right read on him because they are so bad around him. Five or six games in I thought he was the Jags best defender. Not sure now. They are both very good with upside left....
JL (Hoboken, NJ)
PK - off topic but I'll be in Nashville on New Years for the Music City Bowl - where's the place to be the night of the 31st?
Paul Kuharsky (3:45 PM)
Broadway honky tonks will be a blast I would imagine. Heart of downtown, across the street from the arena...
John (Dallas)
Paul, the media has really backed off the Vince Young story since it first broke. Is that out of respect for his medical/personal issues? Are you able to tell us how messed up his head is at this point? Thanks.
Paul Kuharsky (3:46 PM)
We've backed off because there is a first place team with a successful QB to cover. You think the team or VY is offering anything up about the status of his head? I read what I see: Largely uninterested and uninvolved...
Justin (Dayton, Oh)
PK, what are the chances The Texans resign Dunta Robinson? I think it would be a mistake to let him go.
Paul Kuharsky (3:47 PM)
With what they have, I don't see how they can afford to let him go. Don't know that there will be huge interest from outside based on the injury...
Steve (Miami)
What do you think of the Jags other safety, Sensabaugh.
Paul Kuharsky (3:48 PM)
He flashes and he seems tough. They could be better there, I think....
Joey (Rochester, New York)
Remember in a chat earlier this year I said that Marty Shottenheimer would be a good fit to go back to the Browns as coach. What do you think of the chances now?
Paul Kuharsky (3:50 PM)
I think it would be a silly move that shows while they can relate to the past they are clueless about the future. Go find the next Sparano, Harbaugh or Smith...
Matt (Houston)
How is the Texans line protecting Schaub and run blocking so well with out any great players.
Paul Kuharsky (3:50 PM)
Scheme. Winston is pretty good...
Jason (Evansville, IN)
What kind of an impact will Davenport make for the Colts?
Paul Kuharsky (3:50 PM)
I'd say minimal if Rhodes is healthy...
Rob (Columbia, Mo)
As a journalism major, I have two questions on your Vince Young response: 1) can't the media cover VY and the team at the same time(a walk and chew gum sort of thing) and 2) isn't it your job to uncover information that the team might not want you to have?
Paul Kuharsky (3:53 PM)
Sorry, I was a little flip there. Of course it's part of our job. The circle is small, and the people around him (not the team, his family and friends) live off him, help him think nothing is wrong and do good work to protect him. Not easy to get close and not a priority as there are more interesting storylines, from my perspective, that relate to what's unfolding on the field...
Guy (Round Rock, TX)
I saw that the roof on Reliant was going to be worked on after the MNF game. Will it be fixed for this weekend? When the roof is closed that place is LOUD.
Paul Kuharsky (3:53 PM)
Won't be finished or closed until after the season...
Ryan (Denver)
What teams do you think are under-the-radar heading into the playoffs in both conferences?
Paul Kuharsky (3:54 PM)
Said earlier Falcons and Colts are my potential SB surprises. Don't know that the Colts qualify...
Sarah (Denver)
...or the next Linehan, Childress, Marinelli, Petrino, Saban, etc... BTW, 3 out of the last 4 Super Bowl winning coaches were castoffs from other teams (Dungy, Belichick, Coughlin).
Paul Kuharsky (3:56 PM)
Yeah, avoid the bad ones, and find one of the good ones. Atlanta, Miami and Baltimore did it. Follow them, not Detroit. Or hire a very old guy who, if he gets you to the playoffs, has as poor a history as anyone once there...
Jimmy (Nashville, TN)
Was it a mistake for the Titans to let the Colts take Mookie off the practice squad? Why didn't he ever get a shot with the Titans?
Paul Kuharsky (3:57 PM)
A mistake in that he will be a great player they will definitely regret losing? We'll see. A mistake in that they kept Paul Williams and Chris Davis ahead of him? Absolutely...
Aaron (Nashville)
Rob, you're obviously not from around here...the job of the Tennessean is to play rah-rah around the Titans (excluding Climer, whose job is to send every fan to a deep, dark place)
Paul Kuharsky (3:58 PM)
Yeah, when they stunk, I wore a cheerleader outfit and wrote about rainbows and ponies...
JL (Hoboken, NJ)
The Cowboys had a suspension clause in their trade agreement for Pacman - did they have anything in there for a career-ending injury which some reports suggest it may be (not sure I buy that tho)?
Paul Kuharsky (3:59 PM)
Seems pretty harsh to try to get such a thing regarding a football injury...
Todd (LaVergne,TN)
Is this the year Fisher wins a big game? When was the last time the Titans beat a team with a strong winning record? Not just a game or 2 above .500 but a strong winning record?
Paul Kuharsky (4:00 PM)
Would you like him to go rogue and show up at Giants Stadium, toss the team scheduled to play aside, and jump in? What's he supposed to do if the teams on the scheduled don't have records that satisfy you?
Mike (Phily)
Want to know something else harsh, I was rooting for a career ending injury for Pacman.
Paul Kuharsky (4:00 PM)
No, I don't want to know it...
David Austin, Tx
What should the Texans focus on in their next draft? Specific players?
Ryan (Denver)
Chances the Titans lose to the Steelers and the Colts? Or do you see them winning at least one of these games?
Paul Kuharsky (4:01 PM)
Win at least one...
Mad Mike (Houston)
Paul: I hope the Texans take the best player available in the first round and not base it on need. They do have a good history with Kubiak and Smith in the draft. Do they offer extensions to OD and Kevin Walter this offseason? Do you see the starting linebackers next year as Ryans, Adibi & Diles? That is a pretty good three based on this year. Thanks.......MM
Paul Kuharsky (4:02 PM)
I'd look to lock up OD and Walter for sure... If Diles is healthy, that could be a good LB trio if it had better people in front of it and behind it...
Doc (Denver)
Clady or Long for pro bowl. Who ya got
Paul Kuharsky (4:03 PM)
Have heard more good things about Clady, but I can't pretend to know a whole lot about either...
Justin (Manassas, VA)
If the Titans go 15-1 they'd be the most underappreciated team in NFL history right?
Paul Kuharsky (4:05 PM)
Everything that happens right now has to be either the best or worst or most overrated or most underrated of all time. Isn't that funny how it's like that? If they go 15-1 and win the Super Bowl, they'll be rated as deserved. If they go 15-1 and lose their first game they will be rated as deserved...
Jason Garrett, Valley Ranch
Paul, I think I may be overhyped and my play calling has cost the Cowboys a few games this year. What do I need to change to be a litte more successful with all the weapons the Cowboys have?
Paul Kuharsky (4:06 PM)
Your owner? Who just might hire someone else as head coach if things fall apart and he pushes Wade out the door...
Ryan (Denver)
Most underappreciated 8-5 team currently?? Feel free to say Denver...
Paul Kuharsky (4:06 PM)
I am not a fan of Denver. I think the Broncos are one and done...
Todd (LaVergne,TN)
Of course he is at the mercy of the set schedule but when one does come up (see Steelers,Colts,Playoff games) does he win it or choke it (see 2000 Ravens plaoff lose)?
Paul Kuharsky (4:07 PM)
Won a playoff game against Manning at Indy. Beat a tremendous Jacksonville team in Jacksonville. Won a playoff game at Baltimore. Beat Pittsburgh at home. We're going to pretend those were nothing?
Guy (Round Rock, TX)
If the Texans win on Sunday, which team does it have the most impact on good or bad? Titans or Texans?
Paul Kuharsky (4:09 PM)
Well the objective is the playoffs and it would have a potential bearing on homefield and the No. 1 seed., so I would say Tenn. All it can do for Houston is make them feel good...
Justin (Manassas, VA)
I guess this guy Todd doesn't remember Fisher's team's super bowl run.... The Titans don't have the most talented roster in the league, but all I hear about is Smith and Sparano for coach of the year. Shouldn't Fisher's name be in there as well?
Paul Kuharsky (4:10 PM)
It should be. But it's usually won by a new guy. I'd vote Smith...
Michael, Bronx
As a Giant fan I'm not too worried about the vacancy Plaxico has left at WR for the remainder of the season but do you think maybe they could overwhelm the Lions with picks and maybe snatch up Calvin Johnson as the WR of the future?
Paul Kuharsky (4:11 PM)
They aren't a team that's going to deal away a bunch of picks..
Brian (Indy)
Ok third try.... I am kind of getting sick with all this "nobody respects us card" coming from Titans fans... #1 in Power Rankings...everyone is prediciting Giants/Titans Superbowl. Where is this no respect card coming from?? Also.... Is TJ Houshman(whatever) a free agent after this year and can he be franchised?...because it seems like everyone in the Colts organization loves this guy.....
Paul Kuharsky (4:12 PM)
I hate it too. Disrespect is the most bogus thing going and players and fans feed into it / off of it way too much...
Brian (Williamsburg, VA)
Hey Paul, I'm in a big minority view that Haynesworth is overrated. I'm not saying he isn't a great DT, I just think he's given too much credit for what the defense as a whole is doing and I think he benefits a lot from the quality depth on our dline. Can you give me something to back this up or am I just flat out wrong?
Paul Kuharsky (4:13 PM)
I'd like to offer you a few games with a rotation of Brown, Jones and Vickerson so that you could then decide, but I can't. Albert is a tremendous player...
Jesse in Nashville
PK - how does Pacman's departure from football (now football-injury related) affect the trade deal with the Titans? Do we have to give back picks to Dallas?
Paul Kuharsky (4:15 PM)
C'mon, you think an injury suffered on the field had ramifications on a eight-month old trade? The suspension sorted things out and it's long done now...

My favorite NFL team is........
Paul Kuharsky (4:15 PM)
New York Yankees and US Men's National Soccer team, that's who I root for... Otherwise, I root for good stories and good guys...
Anthony, Nashville
That Ravens-Titans 2000 game was a fluke for the Ravens. We outgained them on offense 2-1 and all they got was 2 lucky plays. INT returned for TD & Blocked FG returned for TD. Other than that, it's a 10-10 tie for OT. And the next week they get a lucky long pass play to Sharpe. People forget, it was the Titans who had the #1 Defense in 2000, NOT THE RAVENS!
Paul Kuharsky (4:16 PM)
The team who won the game won the game. It's a hard and fast rule...
Ryan (Denver)
Better coaching job this year? Shanahan or Fisher. I know you dont like Denver but Shanny has done a great job with a young team and having to deal with so many injuries.
Paul Kuharsky (4:17 PM)
Shanny put that team together! I know they've been hurt, but it's his fault they have a terrible defense, he hand-selected all the pieces...
Paul Kuharsky: ESPN
Everyone has a favorite team... you know your a COWBOYS fan deep down. YOU LOVE YOU SOME T.O.!!!
Paul Kuharsky (4:20 PM)
You nailed it. I grew up in Jersey and I love me some Cowboys. It's funny that people have such a hard time believing how disconnected those of us who cover the league are from a rooting interest. I would have liked to have seen the Saints be good this year -- because I picked them to go to the Super Bowl...
Paul Kuharsky (4:20 PM)
OK, who's writing the OT check?
Kevin (Highlands Ranch, CO)
C'mon PK. Aren't you letting your emotion get involved with a comment like that re: Shanahan? We all know his draft short-comings on defense...but he still has to coach these guys. Isn't "Coach of the Year" based on coaching, not GM moves?
Paul Kuharsky (4:21 PM)
He's not top 10 Coach of the Year for me. If he was in any of six other divisions we'd be talking about the draft pick that he would probably miss on. What's my emotional involvement here?
Nate (dickson, TN)
Am I to believe you don't have a rooting interest in the English Premier League? I am agog! I am aghast!
Paul Kuharsky (4:21 PM)
I'd like one...
Matt (Brazil Indiana)
How do you pronounce Colts safety Antoine Bethea's name? I have heard Beth-a and Beth-a-uh.
Paul Kuharsky (4:22 PM)
A
