Tim Graham (3:01 PM)
Good afternoon. I have a can of Coke, a bag of Funyons and a couple hours to kill. So let's get to it ...
west palm beach, FL.
The way I look at it, the Fins can only make the playoffs as a division winner...unless the Ravens lose 2 out of the next 3. That is because the Colts and Ravens hold the tie-breakers. True or False?
Tim Graham (3:02 PM)
The same goes or the Patriots or Jets. Looks like the Colts and Ravens will be the wild card teams with they way they're playing.
Mike
Rank these Grahams in order of importance: Tim, Rev. Billy, Otto.
Tim Graham (3:02 PM)
Otto Graham, Billy Graham, Heather Graham, Ernest Graham, Lou Gramm, Teddy Grahams, Tim Graham.
BUFFALO THE CITY
Tim we miss you here, but we also are allergic to talent...so in a way i suppose you should feel good about things
Tim Graham (3:04 PM)
I'm allergic to talent to, which is why I never picked up any. Gives me the hives.
Trevor, NY
Do you agree that the buffalo bills the worst franchise in sports history?
Tim Graham (3:04 PM)
I grew up in Cleveland. I'll have to disagree with you.
Sully (Plymouth, MA)
Tim, who deserves the most blame for the Jets recent offensive struggles: Favre, the WRs (Cotchery and Coles, failing to gain separation), the O-Line's pass protection, or Schottenheimer's overly conservative play-calling?
Tim Graham (3:05 PM)
Defenses are taking away the short stuff and daring the receivers to beat them. They haven't been getting open.
Frank (State College, PA)
What are funyons?
Tim Graham (3:05 PM)
You must be kidding.
Sparano
I'm the COY... If it's not me it better be Atlanta only if they finish with a better record then us.
Tim Graham (3:06 PM)
I think Mike Smith will get it. When people look at the Dolphins turnaround, the first person they think of is Bill Parcells. Smith is winning with a rookie quarterback and a rookie GM in a city that was torn apart by the Michael Vick scandal.
The Rest of the World
To Frank: Really? I mean....really?
Bill Parcells (Davie, FL)
After we beat New York to finish 11-6; who do you believe we will match up better against Indy or Baltimore??? I'd rather go up against Indy; what is your opinion???
Tim Graham (3:08 PM)
Bill, you've won Super Bowls. I played wingback in high school. Go with your gut on this one.
Rick-Lowell, MA
The Jets seem to be on a bit of a downward slide...not as bad as the Bills, but any chance the Bills play less bad this week and squeeze out a win?
Tim Graham (3:08 PM)
If the Jets don't beat the Bills, then the Jets will become the second AFC East team to implode in the same season.
Lori (Port Allegany, PA)
Bill, you didn't major in math, did you?
rick (seattle)
when will ESPN learn it is their business to REPORT the sports news, not to MAKE it? This TO story is a lame effort to bring attention to itself. Why don't these self righteous "talking heads" discuss the fact the Romo has been bad this year? Obviously because it is easier to make TO the bad guy.
Tim Graham (3:10 PM)
The story came from the Dallas Morning News, and you must not know who Skip Bayless is if you think ESPN hasn't been critical of Tony Romo.
Nick (Bills, NY) :
tim, im planning on killing myself do to this bills collapse. give me on good reason i shouldnt
Tim Graham (3:11 PM)
All that lake-effect snow that's around the corner... No, wait ...
Rod Blagojevich (Chicago, Ill)
Tim, what's up with the Pro Bowl voting? How does this Carpenter character get in? I thought you could only rig political elections!
Tim Graham (3:11 PM)
But with the Pro Bowl, you can get away with it.
Mark (Bangor, PA)
Lots of rumors about the future Browns coach: Cohwer, Marty or Brian Schot. Who's your guess?
Tim Graham (3:11 PM)
Dick Jauron
Jeremy (FINS BABY)
Am i considered a regular on your chat yet? Do you even remember the same people every friday?
Tim Graham (3:12 PM)
Of course I remember you, Jimmy.
JP, Buffalo
Where do I end up next year now that the AFL is done? Toronto?
Tim Graham (3:13 PM)
The AFL is going to soldier forth. They decided to buck up and field teams next year. Losman will be in the NFL somewhere, just not as a starter unless he catches fire over the last three games.
Dick Juaron
am i on my way out???
Tim Graham (3:14 PM)
My hunch is no.
Nick Tarantino, Buff NYC
I am thinking about moving to Cleveland....but i am scared walking the streets with my bills gear on...what do you think?
Tim Graham (3:15 PM)
You can't wear that stuff in Buffalo these days, either.
Rich Rodriquez (Ann Arbor, MI)
I've said it before and I'll say it again: The people in this chat need to get lives.
Jeremy (Miami)
My mom bought a Lexus from Snoop Minnis a couple weeks ago down in South Florida. Your thoughts?
Tim Graham (3:16 PM)
He's no Peter Warrick.
Terrel Owens (Dallas, TX)
Tim, I just got done reading your blog. How come your not showing me any love? Not one story about me?
Tim Graham (3:16 PM)
Because I cover the AFC East.
Stevie WOnder
Why did it take so long for the Bills to put Aaron Schobel on IR?
Tim Graham (3:17 PM)
Great question. Obviously, they felt like they could wait just in case they could get him back. Angelo Crowell must've fallen under a different policy.
Dan (North Wales, PA)
Would promoting Bobby April in Buffalo make the most sense? Special teams is all we got left!
Tim Graham (3:18 PM)
No sense at all.
Tammy (Orlando)
As a long suffering Dolphin fan, should I realistically get my hopes up for a play off spot? I'd hate to be suicidal like Nick in NY.
Tim Graham (3:18 PM)
Don't get your hopes up, but enjoy the next three weeks. They'll feel like the playoffs and maybe -- just maybe -- you'll get a 17th game.
Chadwick Pennington (Knoxville, TN)
Any chance of me going to the pro bowl this year?
Tim Graham (3:19 PM)
Possibly a sentimental pick, and the opportunity always increases when players get hurt. There's a chance.
Mike Ditka
Who would win in a battle royale between all the NFL bloggers? My money is on you Tim, that Mosley guy may be trouble but you can take him.
Tim Graham (3:21 PM)
Kuharsky is my arch nemesis.
Jerry Jones (Irving, TX)
I disagree, Mike. I don't think Tim is tough enough.
Tim Graham (3:21 PM)
You're astute, Jerry.
Eric Mangini (NJ)
Tim, what's this thing the call a blitz? I thought that was outlawed. We are playing with Pro Bowl rules, right?
Tim Graham (3:22 PM)
You are allowed to blitz. But you have to say 1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 Mississippi before you're allowed to cross the line
jim(NYC)
chances that the jets get in? I feel that if they do they can win a game a or 2.
Tim Graham (3:23 PM)
The Dolphins have the mojo going into this week, but they have the toughest game and the Jets have the easiest. We'll have a much better idea Sunday night.
Paul Kuharsky (AFC South Blog)
Tim, why do you get to cover the Dolphins. Last time I checked, Miami was in the south. Someone get my agent on the phone, pronto.
Tim Graham (3:24 PM)
I keep thinking of all those snowbirds heading from New Jersey to Indianapolis ...
Petey (Buffalo)
Tim, Do the Sabres just say enough is enough with Tim Connoly? I mean, he's only played 8 games this year! I feel like a youngster from their AHL club could fill that roster spot better. Thoughts?
Tim Graham (3:25 PM)
Imagine if they didn't have Tim Connolly. Tom Golisano could have blown $12 million more on Joe Mesi's campaign.
Terry (at work eating lunch-Steak and Lobster)
So Tim, Troy Palamalu or whatever how it's spelled, do you think if he doesn't get the MVP maybe defensive MVP and first team?
Tim Graham (3:26 PM)
What about James Harrison? His year might be better than Polamalu's.
AFC East (East of the mighty Miss)
Why is there a question about the NHL?
Tim Graham (3:26 PM)
Because I run this show.
Pete (NC)
No Pats questions getting answered. You're such a hater!
Tim Graham (3:27 PM)
Your questions stunk.
giaco colorado
tim i need a drink stat, suggestions?
Tim Graham (3:27 PM)
A double Patron, neat.
sir miles caswell roster, rhode island
how come you wont comment on my question about tom brady but you talk about hockey?
Tim Graham (3:27 PM)
Because your question was stupid (if it was serious) and not funny (if it wasn't serious).
Tim Graham (3:28 PM)
Hang on ... I'll let everybody judge ...
sir miles caswell roster, rhode island
tim, im a huge pats fan. dont you think tom brady is having a great year?
Tim Graham (3:29 PM)
Anyone care to comment? Feel free to tell me if you think I was wrong not to post that right away.
The Sports Guy
Tim, which would make for a better Christmas gift? 1. Herm Edwards' book "You Play to Win the Game" or 2. Scott Norwood autographed poster
Tim Graham (3:29 PM)
Herm all the way. He's good for some laughs.
The French Judge (annoyed)
Oui, Tim, terrible question. I give it a -9.8
Everybody (Anytown, U.S.)
Yup, that was pretty stupid.
Tom Brady (Mass)
Tim, even I agree it was stupid, serious or not....
Bill (York, PA)
Sir Roster needs to be banned. ASAP.
WOW...
Obvious Pats fan...Retarted
Mike Ditka
That's not funny, and its dumb!
Zac (MN)
You were right Tim not to post that. I would rather hear about TO.
Tim Graham (3:30 PM)
Onward ...
Brad(NM)
Tim, do you think Edwards is the answer at QB or will he have durability issues every season?
Tim Graham (3:32 PM)
That's just another element of why the season has been so frustrating for the Bills. There's no indication if Edwards is good enough even though the front office and fans invested everything in him.
Dan (North Wales, PA)
DO you think Rian Lindell is done? I see Lawrence Tynes or Jay Feely in Buffalo blue next year.
Tim Graham (3:32 PM)
It's difficult for a kicker to stick around once he has "gone bad."
Better Rushing Game???
Ronnie Brown or Frank Gore this week?
Tim Graham (3:33 PM)
Gore if he's healthy, but I hear he probably won't play because of the ankle. But watch the injury reports.
Bill (York, PA)
One bad game and all of a sudden Lindell has "gone bad"? Really?
Tim Graham (3:33 PM)
One bad game? He blew it on Monday night against the Browns and missed two gimmies against the 49ers.
Is there...
any update on Cassel?
Tim Graham (3:35 PM)
He's going to play. As for his mental state, I'm not sure he will speak to reporters this week to give anybody an indication of that.
Jeremy (CA)
Do you see both Cassel and Brady on the Pats next year? What is their contract situation?
Tim Graham (3:36 PM)
Cassel is a free agent after this season. Brady signed a six-year extension in 2005. The Patriots could franchise Cassel, but then he would make more than Brady. Tricky.
Daniel (NYC)
Bills sold 56K season tickets this year. Given the economy and an extra preseason game, how many do you see them selling in 2009?
Tim Graham (3:37 PM)
I sense a revolt if Jauron comes back. The Toronto decision hasn't played well either.
Pete (NC)
Uh Tim, no Pats questions allowed...and secondly, Pennington must be laughing at all of those frigid Jets fans while sipping Mai Tais on the beach in Miami.
Tim Graham (3:38 PM)
Uh, Pete. No Pats questions being asked aside from bad jokes.
Brett Favre (New Jersey)
Should I be worried about the Dolphins on the 28th? Or are they really a fluke
Tim Graham (3:40 PM)
The Dolphins are no fluke. What makes them so good is they know who they are. They're not super-talented, but they don't beat themselves. As Floyd Reese told me today when we spoke "Not every team knows how to win. More teams lose games than win them. If the Dolphins lose, I know it's because the other team was more talented because they won't lose it."
Daniel (NYC)
Sorry to press, but what would the season-ticket number be?
Tim Graham (3:41 PM)
No idea. With the economy the way it is, even the Bills' in-house projections would be pure speculation.
Ed (Medford, MA)
Can somebody please give bill belichick a shout out for COY? He managed to pull out a win with a reserve cornerback (Lewis Sanders) playing ILB in a base defense last week!!
Tim Graham (3:41 PM)
I've said it for weeks: This is the best coaching Belichick has done in his career.
Donnie (Hartford,CT)
How good do you think Ronnie and Ricky will be against the 49ers defense? Good running day for the duo?
Tim Graham (3:43 PM)
49ers are playing very well on defense. They beat the Bills two weeks ago because they gave up only three points on four red-zone trips. They beat the Jets last week because they were virtually impossible to gain yardage against on third down.
Bill Belichick
Ed... we're focusing on Oakland right now. We'll get to CoTY when we get to it, but right now we're thinking about Oakland.
Tim Graham (3:43 PM)
Close ... You never worry about personal accolades at any time.
Frank (miami, FL)
Tim, why would Chad be a sentimental pick for the pro bowl if he's the second highest rated qb in the AFC? Plus he has a league low 6 INTs.
Tim Graham (3:44 PM)
Because he has been in the league a long time, is well-liked and hasn't received many individual honors. As for his stats, he has only 12 TDs.
Mason Elbert: Whittemore IA
TIM, Dan Marino.....great quarterback? or the GREATEST quarterback?????
Tim Graham (3:45 PM)
I've always been a Fran Tarkenton guy, but it's hard to argue with Marino's stats.
Wes Welker
How many catches do I end up with at the end of this year?
Tim Graham (3:46 PM)
114
Colin North Carolina
Who will make the playoffs in the afc?
Tim Graham (3:46 PM)
Broncos, Steelers, Titans, Ravens, Colts and whoever wins the AFC East
Phil Simms
Psssh, never even won a super bowl, wanna see my rings?
Tim Graham (3:47 PM)
Trent Dilfer has a ring
Frank (Miami, FL)
Who do you see coming out with a win on Dec. 28. Miami or New York?
Tim Graham (3:48 PM)
I'm not trying to waffle, but I think Sunday will be telling. The Dolphins have a tough game. If they win, I like them to win the division. If the Jets lose, I like the Dolphins to win the division. If the opposite happens, I like the Jets. This is a big psychological week for the Jets.
Bobby (Pitt)
What's a good movie to see this weekend Tim?
Tim Graham (3:49 PM)
Last movie I saw was Changeling. It was good, but I had hopes it would be great.
Tim Graham (3:49 PM)
So aside from that I don't have an tips. I haven't been to the movies much lately.
G (Philly)
Any updates on Addai; playing/not playing?
Tim Graham (3:50 PM)
I'm hearing he won't, but nothing definitive.
Russ Brandon
Changeling is a woman's movie. What are you, a woman?! Sorry i need to get back to giving Ralph Wilson a sponge bath
Tim Graham (3:51 PM)
It's a Clint Eastwood movie about a serial child murderer. Other than that, it's a great date movie.
The Tuna
Is there a Sunday Night game in week 17? If so, you think our game will get moved to it?
Tim Graham (3:52 PM)
Possibly, but the Cowboys-Eagles play that weekend too.
Christian (nyc)
What are the dolphins chances of making the playoffs
Tim Graham (3:52 PM)
41 percent.
Russ Brandon
Who should I get to replace Jauron when I fire him after the season.
Tim Graham (3:53 PM)
I'm not sure either move would be your call, Russ.
Kelly (New Jersey)
Tim, I've emailed you my thoughts a few times over the football season this year and I've got one more thought for you to consider. I am a huge Dolphins fan, don't get me wrong, but I am also not naive; thus, what are your thoughts on Ronnie Brown being the No. 2 voted running back in the AFC? Brown is definitely not tearing up his opponents, so why the voting success? Could it because of weak competition? Brown's role in the over-hyped Wildcat Offense that made it on SportsCenter so much?
Tim Graham (3:54 PM)
I'm sure most of his votes came early in the season while everybody was enraptured by the Wildcat. He didn't gain a lot of yards, but he scored several highlight-reel TDs.
Bobby (Pitt)
Can I have percentages of every AFC team's chances on making the playoffs please?
Tim Graham (3:54 PM)
I only have the AFC East broken down.
Nate ("working" ir Crapchester)
Why can't the Bills back up a truckload of $$$ for Cowher or Schottenheimer? They paid more than that to Derrick Dockery or Chris Kelsay or any of these other losers. I'd take Cowher coaching some cheap mediocre talent over Jauron coaching over-paid mediocre talent.
Tim Graham (3:56 PM)
You could stop your question after the first 10 words.
Zack, NYC
All these movie questions, and you don't answer the one that actually pertains to football. I just really want to know if JP Losman reminds anyone else of the backup QB from Necessary Roughness, who runs behind the ref and screams "blow the whistle, blow the whistle" when he comes in. JP Losman, worst... quarterback... ever (comic guy from the simpsons)
Tim Graham (3:57 PM)
You guys are too much.
joe, nyc
whats your take on la nova pizza
Tim Graham (3:58 PM)
I could take it or leave it.
Rick-Lowell, MA
You really think Balti gets in? I don't see how they beat Pitt and Dallas, and that would put them out of a spot if 2 of the AFC east teams win out. Do you not see Balti losing 2, or do you not see 2 AFC east teams winning out?
Tim Graham (3:59 PM)
Nobody thought the Ravens would control the Redskins like they did. The Ravens are playing very well, and their defense is lights out. Dallas will struggle against the Ravens.
Julio (Orlando,FL)
Is Bess the best undrafted rookie this year?
Tim Graham (4:00 PM)
Off the top of my head, yes. I can't think of any better candidates.
Isaac
Tim, getting alot of hate today about the questions you are picking that sucks. By the way, "A Christmas Story" is the best holiday movie ever.
Tim Graham (4:00 PM)
Well, the best holiday movie ever is Halloween.
joe, nyc
ted's hot dogs?
Tim Graham (4:00 PM)
Five stars.
James (Buffalo, NY)
Turner Gill for the next bills head coach? Your thoughts?
Tim Graham (4:01 PM)
Not a chance.
Matt, Columbus ohio
Is there seemingly a consensus on the most "hated" or most "loved" NFL team among the ESPN community?
Tim Graham (4:02 PM)
I wouldn't be the guy to ask. I've been to Bristol, Conn., once and that was to interview. I'm about as autonomous as you can get when it comes to assignments. I think like any media outlet, it's not about the best teams but the best stories.
Santa Clause (North Pole)
Tim, What would like for christmas this year?
Tim Graham (4:03 PM)
An AFC East team that goes deep into the playoffs to keep things interesting.
Kiran (Washington, DC)
Hey Tim, this is keeping me entertained while I do last minutes studying for my Physics final today at 7:40 (yikes). So here's my question: 6 word synopsis for the Bills this year? How about: Complete Collapse? Depressed Fans? What's new.
Tim Graham (4:04 PM)
I would like to see the fans get a little more irate, but after years of misery you get weathered.
Russ Brandon (on personnel decisions)
who will be the better reciever Steve Johnson or James Hardy?
Tim Graham (4:05 PM)
I'm hearing good things about Steve Johnson, but Hardy is the only one on the team who offers height.
Jake Long (Its Hot Down Here)
Hi Tim, hows it going. Do you think I was worth the # 1 Pick and all that money?
Tim Graham (4:07 PM)
Yes, you were. Fine pick. Although fans will debate for years whether the Dolphins should have taken Matt Ryan
Flapjack Dandy, Iraq
Do you think the curse of the Buffalo Bills caused 9-11?
Tim Graham (4:08 PM)
9-11 happened the day the Sabres signed Alexei Zhitnik to an extension. Look it up.
Batman
(Deep Voice) Hey Tim, you want to go for a ride in the batmobile after this?
Tim Graham (4:08 PM)
Golly!
MM, in Brooklyn - kid
SF has been great on defense lately? Didn't Marshawn drop like 135 on them 2 weeks ago? Ronnie and Ricky will combine for 120+. Miami wins 23-16. More importantly, most important draft need for Miami next year in Round 1: LB, CB, OL, WR? Doubt Crowder gets resigned, and who knows if Vernon will get resigned.
Tim Graham (4:09 PM)
17 points allowed the past two weeks.
Satan (Hell)
Screw you, Buffalo. Mua ha ha.
Tim Graham (4:10 PM)
I thought you were playing for the Penguins this year.
Matt - Rochester, NY
Tim, Godfather part 1 or 2. You say 3 and we gotta step outside.
Tim Graham (4:11 PM)
1, but it's close
Bill (York, PA)
What do you mean by fans getting a little more irate? I've been a Bills fan 20+ years and this is the most irate I've seen the fanbase.....
Tim Graham (4:12 PM)
Over 50,000 season tickets doesn't make for an irate mob.
MIke New York
Any chance Cassel has a Favre-like performance after his father died?
Tim Graham (4:13 PM)
We'll find out an awful lot about Matt Cassel's mental makeup on Sunday. If he has a big game, it'll be a major story.
Nick Spills, BLO
Do you think its sad that OJ Simpson is the pride of Buffalo?
Tim Graham (4:14 PM)
I thought it was Rick James.
josh (los Angeles)
Tim. Enough jets and bills. I just want to know why the Raiders keep getting worse. Just like when it seems like they have hit rock bottom they go lower. I'm a realistic fan, and it isnt too much to even ask for a 6-10 year just once.
Tim Graham (4:15 PM)
I think Ralph Wilson and Al Davis have a lot in common when it comes to their teams' performances in recent years.
Dominic Rhodes
Do you think I am showing more potential than Adaii this year? Will I have a monster week?
Tim Graham (4:15 PM)
If you start, you will have a monster game.
Jonathan (florida)
If the Jet's don't get into the playoffs does that help or hurt his chances in coming back???
Tim Graham (4:16 PM)
I assume you mean Favre. I heard Chris Mortensen on a Miami radio show last night. Mort knows Favre well and predicted Favre will not play next year regardless. Mort made sure to stress that was only an opinion and not based on anything Favre has said to him.
Santa Clause (North Pole)
Tim, I noticed you have been pretty naughty this year..I think you will get a lump of coal
Tim Graham (4:18 PM)
That's about what I deserve.
Ignored Fan (Soho, NYC)
I have sent a questions regarding Peppers contract, as John Fox asking about B. Jacobs and the NYG run game, as Tom Hanks and the lack of good movies he has done, and as myself, now, asking why you ignore me so? Do I not humor you enough Tim?
Tim Graham (4:19 PM)
I have 615 questions or comments in my queue right now. I've been on here for 79 minutes. That's eight questions a minute. I don't see them all. Don't feel hurt, sweetheart.
Joe Flacco
Two Questions: 1. Does our team honestly have a chance to go deep into the playoffs? 2. How come I'm so underrated in the ROY talks?
Tim Graham (4:20 PM)
Chris Johnson is pretty dominant in those talks, but I do think the Ravens' defense can take them a long way
Greg Camarillo (Little Havana, Miami)
Do you think I'll make a full recovery Tim?
Tim Graham (4:21 PM)
You'll be fine. My liberal arts degree from Baldwin-Wallace College gives me the authority to render than opinion.
Nick (Bills, NY) :
no one is impressed mwith the amount of questions in your cue
Tim Graham (4:22 PM)
No worries. I'm about to wrap it up anyway.
Tom Modrak and Jon Guy (Florida and Buffalo)
Are we losing our jobs?
Tim Graham (4:23 PM)
Somebody needs to pay for this season. The coach just signed a three-year extension (unofficially) and there is no GM.
Bill (York, PA)
Chris Johnson is dominant in the ROY talks? Maybe for the AFCROY.......Matt Ryan seems a LOCK for the NFL ROY though.
Tim Graham (4:25 PM)
I was thinking AFC.
sir miles caswell roster, rhode island
tim i just called my boy at espn and you are getting fired for making fun of me earlier
Tim Graham (4:27 PM)
I'm under contract until 2011.
Jauron
Is this a real contract, Tim?
Tim Graham (4:28 PM)
Show me yours, I'll show you mine.
Andy (NYC)
Tim, when is it politically correct for a long time Bills fan to give up on a constant underachieving franchise and look for another team to cheer for???
Tim Graham (4:31 PM)
I'd say once you reach turn 21 or serve in the armed forces, whichever comes first.
Bill Belicheck
We'll get to football questions when we do. Right now we're breaking down Oakland.
Tim Graham (4:31 PM)
That's authentic
Vince Lombardi (Heaven)
About to wrap it up? First you quit in a chat, then you'll quit on a blog, then next thing ya know you'll be quitting on your family. There is no room for quitters in this league!
Tim Graham (4:32 PM)
I quit on my family a long time ago.
Bills_Chick
is Bill from York PA a real person, and how come you answer so many of his questions?
Tim Graham (4:34 PM)
I don't look at the names of the people when I answer a question. I look for people who are concise with how they ask them and quickly determine how fast I can answer them.
Tom
"Tim Graham: (4:32 PM ET ) I quit on my family a long time ago." Thats a ballsy move hope the misses isnt reading.
Tim Graham (4:35 PM)
She's the one who broke the news to me.
John Stamos
Is this concise?
Tim Graham (4:35 PM)
Quite
Bill (York, PA)
*slips Tim a $50* Thanks for having my back.
Edward (St. Louis)
Bill Simmons you are not. Anymore football questions going to get answered today?
Tim Graham (4:37 PM)
Sorry, Edward. This is my chat. The numbers show it's the most popular on the site. But thanks for the tips on how to run it.
Ed Hochuli (chat ref)
That's a personal foul against Edward (St. Louis), whining about the chat, 15 yards and repeat 3rd down.
Bobby (Pitt)
Go back to posting the better ones Tim
Jeremy (FINS)
Who is your favorite Dolphin to interview? And have you talked with The Tuna yet?
Tim Graham (4:39 PM)
I have spoken to Parcells several times, but the conversations almost always are brief unless the topic is boxing. He hasn't liked to talk football with reporters here because he wants to keep a low profile.
Tim Graham (4:39 PM)
Vonnie Holliday is the easiest guy to interview because he answers every question thoughtfully and always is accessible. But my favorite is Joey Porter because he's so entertaining.
Tim Graham (4:41 PM)
An update, we're up to 760 questions and comments. I'll go until 5 p.m. to keep my streak of two-hour chats alive. Let's keep going.
tom
which jets players will/should make the pro-bowl this year?
Tim Graham (4:42 PM)
Kris Jenkins and Darrelle Revis deserve it. Favre and Faneca will go.
Mike
Parcells likes boxing?
Tim Graham (4:43 PM)
Huge boxing guy. So are Sparano and Mangini.
Bill (York, PA)
Do any Bills have a prayer at the Pro Bowl? Maybe Peters since he's been back to form the 2nd half of the year?
Tim Graham (4:44 PM)
I don't think the Bills will have a Pro Bowler. Maybe McKelvin as a return man, but that's unlikely.
chat room, calling you out
you wont go 1000 questions, you are soft
Tim Graham (4:44 PM)
We'll see how close we get
Jonathan (florida)
Mangini loves boxing too. I think there was a time in which he brought boxing trainer Teddy Atlas to training camp..
Tim Graham (4:45 PM)
Teddy Atlas still is a member of the Jets coaching staff.
T. Jones (NY but plays in NJ)
What more do I have to do to get more involved in the Jets offense? More bicep curls maybe?
Tim Graham (4:46 PM)
More involved? You ARE the Jets offense.
Bill (Pomona California)
Hey Tim, shouldn't T Jones be going as well? He leading the AFC in rushing and has 14 TDs as well?
Tim Graham (4:47 PM)
Yes, Jones will go for sure. I skipped over him in my head.
Tony (Kansas City, MO)
Pick two: TO, Bess, Driver, or Branch? Pick one: Witten or Carlson?
Tim Graham (4:47 PM)
For fantasy football or to build a real team?
Rocco Baldelli (NJ)
Bigger disappointment, Jets not making the playoffs or the Patriots losing to the Raiders?
Tim Graham (4:48 PM)
Your career would be up there ... But as for your question, the Jets not making the playoffs would be the bigger disappointment because everybody can understand the Patriots shouldn't be where they are given their injuries.
Jim
Pick one: Leinhardt or Losman and yes this is for fantasy...
Tim Graham (4:49 PM)
Losman against the No. 31 pass defense
Tony
Tony (Kansas City, MO): Pick two: TO, Bess, Driver, or Branch? Pick one: Witten or Carlson? Tim Graham: (4:47 PM ET ) For fantasy football or to build a real team? Don't be a smart ass Graham.
Tim Graham (4:50 PM)
Why is that a silly question? My answers would be different if we're looking at careers, putting teams together or this weekend's matchups. You have to do better with formulating a question than just telling me to "pick from these guys." For what?
Ogre (Adams College)
Fantasy football is for NERDS!
Tim Graham (4:51 PM)
I admit that I play. But I refuse to talk about it in front of others. Nobody cares to hear about it.
Shawn (oh)
What's your approval rating Tim!
Tim Graham (4:51 PM)
Based on this chat, about a 6. Childress territory.
billsslam23
tim i just moved to downtown b-lo, what bar should i go to tonight, dont say anywhere on chippewa
Tim Graham (4:52 PM)
Colter Bay
Brian (NY)
Should the Bills look for another QB via free agency or the draft this offseason?
Tim Graham (4:53 PM)
Good question. It depends on how comfortable they are with Hamdan. If they think he could handle being the backup, then you can draft one. If not, then you probably need to bring in a free agent because Edwards gets hurt often.
Eric (Florida)
Have you hit a single bullet point from your AFC Chat reminder blog?
Tim Graham (4:54 PM)
Let's see ... We talked about Christmas Vacation ... Sparano for coach of the year ...Pro Bowl voting ...
Tim Graham (4:54 PM)
Jauron's contract ...
Tim Graham (4:55 PM)
only one AFC East team making the playoffs ...
Tim Graham (4:55 PM)
So what do you want? Some Maury Povich talk?
Ralphie, Indiana
Sorry Tim- "A Christmas Story" is a better movie than "Christmas Vacation".
Tim Graham (4:56 PM)
I strongly disagree. But I do love "A Christmas Story." I've already seen it three times this season.
Bill (York, PA)
Jerry Springer >>>>>>> Maury Povich.
Tim Graham (4:56 PM)
No way. Springer is staged. That's like saying WWE is better than MMA.
Jeremy (Davie)
Do you ever feel Maury and all those shows have to be fake or is there really that large of an amount of whacked out people in our country?
Tim Graham (4:57 PM)
I think Maury is real. And there is no shortage of half-wits out there.
Andy (Albany, NY)
Tim, you are... NOT the father!!!
Tim Graham (4:58 PM)
I just jumped up and started shouting down my monitor. Now I'm waving my index finger at it.
Ricky W., South Beach
Who's your Heisman pick?
Tim Graham (4:59 PM)
Colt McCoy.
Tim Graham (4:59 PM)
But I'm a bigger fan of Buck McCoy.
Jeremy
Can't wait for this Jan 25th episode of Maury. "My Fiancee Needs to Know... Her Mom Pays Me for Sex!"
Tim Graham (5:00 PM)
You can't beat that ...
Bill (York, PA)
We haven't talked about those infernal Chia Pets yet.........
Tim Graham (5:00 PM)
How many of you have actually bought one of these? My grandmother asked for one every year.
hondo (oakland)
Tim, Jamarcus Russell a work in progress or a bust?
Tim Graham (5:01 PM)
Bust.
Brandon Marshall
Get her a Chia Joey Porter... it grows popcorn muscles!
Tim Graham (5:01 PM)
I like it!
Mike (FL)
Are we really STILL talking about Maury?
Tim Graham (5:02 PM)
I was done with it, but since you asked ...
Earl (Cbus)
Tim who do I start at QB this week, Warner or PManning?
Tim Graham (5:03 PM)
Manning.
Bills_Chick
alright thats like 10 questions from Bill from York, PA. you guys are dating, admitt it.
Tim Graham (5:04 PM)
I'm fond of him.
Eric (Florida)
Tim, can you go another 25 minutes so I don't have to watch Around the Horn?
Tim Graham (5:04 PM)
I'll give it a shot.
charlie
arent the dolphins the best in their divison?
Tim Graham (5:05 PM)
They go into this week with the most momentum, but I'm skeptical they'll maintain it through Sunday. The 49ers are a tough opponent, and the Jets should rediscover themselves against the flat-lining Bills.
nick: buffalo:
tim, going on 2hrs 5 mins of no work, you are a godsent. in fact if you count how many emails ive snet all day, i probably shouldnt be getting paid
Tim Graham (5:06 PM)
Your secret is safe with me. Edward in St. Louis, however, already has been called into human resources.
Jeremy (Davie)
Who means more to their team? Pennington to the Dolphins or Wade to the Heat?
Tim Graham (5:06 PM)
Pennington to the Dolphins. The Heat had Wade last season, too.
Jeremy (Davie)
Tim, last July I was vacationing in Dominican Republican, yadda yadda yadda I ended up selling my soul for the Fins to make the playoffs this year. Should I be scared?
Tim Graham (5:08 PM)
You should be. The Dominican stuff doesn't work. You need to go to Haiti.
Someone Who Still Reads Newspapers
Dan Le Batard or Dave Hyde?
Tim Graham (5:09 PM)
Funny you should ask because Le Batard isn't writing for the Herald these days. He's concentrating on radio. But Hyde would be my pick anyway.
Jon Goodrum
Enjoying your funyuns?
Tim Graham (5:09 PM)
They're gone. Even the best part: the remnant dust.
Zack, NYC
Buck Mccoy... Love the simpsons reference. How about the redneck texan for Jerry Jones? or grandpa for al davis?
Tim Graham (5:10 PM)
Mr. Burns would be Al Davis. Grandpa would be Ralph Wilson
Stan (SUNY Morrisville)
Man this beats studying for my accounting final
Tim Graham (5:10 PM)
I would hope so ...
Jon Goodrum
Where are all the Pats fans?
Tim Graham (5:11 PM)
They haven't been on my chats all year. It has been a high percentage of Bills fans all along, the Dolphins fans are increasing and the Jets have been about the same.
Tim Graham (5:12 PM)
That's why I had to laugh at the two Pats fans heckling me for not posting Patriots questions -- even though those guys weren't asking any. Nobody does.
Tim Graham (5:12 PM)
We're at 1,007 questions and 2:12.
Jeremy (FINS)
Simpsons Movie: Yay or Nay?
Tim Graham (5:12 PM)
Leaning toward yay, but not wholeheartedly.
Bill (York, PA)
On behalf of the Pats fans: Who do you think they send to the Pro Bowl? Anyone?
Tim Graham (5:14 PM)
Welker should go. Linemen are tough to project. Mankins probably deserves it. Light and Koppen could go on reputation. Wilfork's a solid possibility.
Jon Goodrum
Odds of Buff landing Andy Reed? I'm saying 1 out of 20
Tim Graham (5:14 PM)
1 out of 100
Samson (east LA)
The Simpsons Movie was a big fat NAY. That was bad
Tim Graham (5:14 PM)
I laughed out loud a couple times.
Zach Thomas, Dallas
Are the Dolphins better in spite of my leaving the team, or because of it?
Tim Graham (5:15 PM)
partly because of it.
Jon (Kenmore, NY)
The ad at the bottom of the screen says Shaq's IQ is 116. Did they add an extra 1?
Tim Graham (5:15 PM)
I think his ESPN Scrabble commercial is hilarious.
Earl (Cbus)
Video game question: Madden or Tecmo Bowl?
Tim Graham (5:16 PM)
Wow. ... That's tough.
Tim Graham (5:16 PM)
If both of them were in front of me right now, I would play Tecmo Bowl.
Tim Graham (5:17 PM)
OK, I need to shut it down. One guy keeps posting the same question over and over and it's clogging everything up
Tim Graham (5:18 PM)
Thanks to everybody for dropping by. Have a great weekend.
