We've got Roy!
Rhydel, Lancaster, PA
First off, great job at Dallas, but since your name isn't Roy, where did you get that name from?
Roy (4:01 PM)
I got it from a Starbucks commercial. It was back in the Halo 1 days. I saw the commericial and it had a song to it and I thought it was catchy. So I took the name Roy. I thought about changing it, but didn't.

Do you see it's possible for MLG to expand so much that we will see more European players on the field?
Roy (4:03 PM)
I think that eventually that it will go big enough that you will see that. A few years down the road, I don't think it will be unrealistic to see a tournament in Europe. MLG has been growing at such a drastic rate, it's easy for it to do that in the next five years or so.
Blain Hershberger (Bedford, PA)
Does it make you feel superior to other pro gamers, seeing that you were picked as the MLG Halo 3 MVP or do you feel that you're just like all the rest but might have a slight edge or a target on your back.
Roy (4:04 PM)
It definitely doesn't make me feel any better. There are numerous players that I feel are better than I am. It just gives me more drive. I don't think it gives me a target on my back. It's not going to change the way I play and it's not going to change my team.
Matt (Old Bridge, New Jersey)
Hey Roy, just wondering what the off season will be bringing for you and how will you adjust to all of the team changing that will be going on.
Roy (4:05 PM)
Early on, right now, I'm just playing for fun. I'm not going to take that much of a break. Placing second was exciting but disappointing knowing we were close to first. We have to adjust as a team. Hopefully we will be ready for the opening.
Mikey (Philly)
Are you a fan of the old-school gaming systems? If so, which older game is your favorite?
Roy (4:06 PM)
I would have to say for the PS2, me and a whole bunch of friends used to play NHL Hits. We would just play it for hours and fight. For the PS2, that's the one that I played the most.
Andrew (Flushing, NY)
What's the last non-competitive game that you've played lately?
Roy (4:06 PM)
Left for Dead. Hopefully it will be used for tournaments somewhere in the future. It's one of the funner games I've played recently. We will accept any challenges.
Keaton G (Marshall, NC)
I seen that 1v1 of you and Neighbor. Very good game. What are your thoughts on that match?
Roy (4:07 PM)
That match was just Neighbor just getting lucky. The game wasn't going my way. I will put it out there that I am up $10 on Neighbor and I am winning the overall series.
AJ aka Amp from NC
How are your first impressions of Neighbor on Instincts compared to the first impressions or Soviet, will we an unstoppable Instinct?
Roy (4:09 PM)
We haven't really played too much with Neighbor yet. I think Neighbor is the best player in the game. I'm more excited then ever to have him on the team. Soviet, he's a good player. The only thing we had with him was a few consistency problems. I will never regret picking him up. It was hard to drop him. He's one of the nicest persons I've met through MLG. But Neighbor was a step in the right direction, so we felt we had to make the change.
Cole Guthrie (W.V.)
Who scares you more when they have a sniper-Snipedown or Neighbor???
Roy (4:10 PM)
Probably Neighbor. Snipedown is a good sniper and is very accurate. Most of his hits come from when he sits down and gets people when they're not looking. Neighbor gets his when he's being aggressive and looking at him.
Fergus Downpatrick Down
What are you doing during the off season to prepare for meadowlands. Or are you taking a well deserved break?
Roy (4:11 PM)
To be honest, I haven't taken a break. I've taken days off and I took a week off after Vegas, but since then I've been playing so much. I've played a ton of games. I'm playing 6-7 hours a day already. I'm going to be as good as I've ever been by the opening, I hope.
Fonzi Central Falls Rhode Island
Whats it like from going to playing in your room to playing on main stage??
Roy (4:12 PM)
It's the best feeling in the world to be on the main stage. All the fans and the crowd cheering for everybody. It's one of the best feelings I've felt. I can't even compare to playing on the main stage to playing in your house. It's amazing to be up there playing for $20,000 in the regular season and $100,000 in the playoffs. It's overwhelming.
Aaron Fairfield California
do you usually team up with players that did good in matchmaking.
Roy (4:13 PM)
Sometimes I'll just be on a fake account. Being on my regular tag, they'll try to talk trash. So I'll play on a fake tag and communicate with them and it will be fine.
James (Alabama)
What are you're thoughts on final boss disbanding?
Roy (4:14 PM)
It's very very sad to see the Ogres not together and Final Boss. The first players I heard about was the Ogres, because I'm a twin. I thought about how it would be to be on the MLG circuit. There always has been a team with them in the MLG. It's a sad day if it's confirmed that Ogre1 is retiring.
Cole Guthrie (W.V.)
Do you like having only a few events per year now or would you rather go back to the old MLG where there were plenty of events and tournaments throughout the year?
Roy (4:15 PM)
I like the current format. There are six events in the year and they have an offseason. It's nice to recover. During the season when all of the tournaments are going on, it's hard to take a break. When you're a top player, you want to keep improving and improving. I like how there's a break after the championships.
Roy (4:16 PM)
I just want to say thanks for all the support we had in Vegas. Hopefully with Neighbor we will get more fans. I want to give a shout out to Triple X, Mason, Dave, Jason, my parents and Courtney.
