Ken Moll (4:01 PM)
Fella's, Filling in for Jeremy this Friday afternoon. GREAT weekend for football-----
Alex (Pittsburgh)
Will not having a bye week since week two hurt the ravens this week?
Ken Moll (4:03 PM)
Alex, I really do think it hurts Baltimore and with the "D" being banged up it may show up in the later stages of the game - Should be a GREAT match up !
Jason (Pitt)
Jg-I believe the most dangerous team left is the Eagles. While their D may not be as dominant as the Steelers or Ravens, their offense is far superior, and their defense while ranked 3rd, consists of a great secondary and mammonth defensive lineman, always tough combinations.
Ken Moll (4:06 PM)
Jason, I tend to agree with you. Just like last season (G-MEN were playing at a high level down the stretch)- Philly is really playing well and seem to have a imilar "chemistry" as their Arch rivals (G-men) did last year. The Eagles are really dangerous but anything can happen in this last weekend before the SB -
Marc ( City of Brotherly Love)
Who do you like this weekend Ken? Could it possibly be a Keystone State showdown in Tampa? Or could a rookie ( Flacco) actually make it to the big dance?
Ken Moll (4:07 PM)
Marc, I do like an ALL PA Super Bowl- I belive that's going to happen but bith games will be close-
DJ, Chicago
Are the Titans and Panthers really stupid enough to let Haynseworth and Peppers leave?
Ken Moll (4:09 PM)
DJ, You would hope not but neither club will overpay to hold on to a player! Both are outstanding but teams have to have a philosophy about how much they will be willing to pay a particular player--
Jim: Ocean Springs
I've been reading some puzzling and contradictory things about new Saints DC Gregg Williams. Everything from he is great to some of his former players didn't care for his hard nosed style. What's the truth--was he a good hire?
Ken Moll (4:13 PM)
Jim, I do think there is some ?'s about Williams as being a GOOD hire. He hasn't always been successful as a "D" coordinator. SOme of the Former players comments need to be taken with a grain of salt as there are likely many that would get up on the table for him. I know there were several of my players (when I coached) that didn't care for me and my style of coaching but you need to continue to coach the way you know how and feel is the best for that particular player and situation.
Nicole, NYC
How do you see the Giants approaching their need at wide receiver this off season? Do they try to land a big name via trade or take their chances in the draft? Is there a FA out there that could get the job done? Thanks!
Ken Moll (4:15 PM)
Nicole, Yes they need to address the WR position and it will be tough to replace Plaxico- T.J. who'syourmoma (Cincy) will be one they may look at in free agency--
Bryan (Provo,UT)
What do the Niners need in this draft to help them return to their winning tradition?
Ken Moll (4:19 PM)
Bryan, I still think they need to address a few positions but believe an explosive WR would be nice along with another defensive lineman-
Steven (Glasgow, Scotland)
With LT heavily rumored to be put on the trading block this off season (and San Diego so far not denying this) what do you think Norv Turner does here? Say he is traded. I don't think you're going to get great draft picks for him. Despite being a great RB and future HOF'er he's hitting 30 (and possibly the wall) this year. Do you think there's a perfect fit team out there for LT? 2008 was not a great LT season plus he had a lot of injury to contend with, but he still had good yards/tds. I look at Tomlinson and see a pro who's given everything to the Chargers organization from the moment they drafted him and would love to see him retire there (possibly after the 09 season?) Ps. say hi to Podvader on the show for me, the guy is awesome.
Ken Moll (4:22 PM)
Steven, There will be plenty of takers for LT. How about the Colts adding him to Addai in the Indy offense or even out in Arizona - There are plenty of teams that would LOVE to have LT Especially if he doesn't have to carry the load by himself--
Steve (Rochester, NY)
Forget for a moment that he is a former #2 overall pick and give me an evaluation of Robert Gallery as a left guard. I've read a couple of Oakland beat writers say that he is playing at or near a pro bowl level. Thanks JG.
Ken Moll (4:24 PM)
Steve, Gallery was originally drafted as a left tackle and couldn't get it done out there. It's good to see that he has found a spot at the guard position but not sure he is PRO Bowl caliber !
Jared (Denver CO)
HI Ken, thanks for the chat! What is your opinion of the McDaniels Hire in Denver? Mark my words Ken, when it is all said and done Mcdaniles wil be a hall of fame coach! Thanks!!
Ken Moll (4:26 PM)
Jared, It's always hard to know what your gettng when you hire first time head coach. There will be a learning curve but he has lots to work with in Denver- HALL of FAME ???? Let's see how he does in his first season--
Josh, Hudsonville, MI
Now that all the underclassman have declared for the NFL Draft, which quarterback (Stafford or Sanchez)is on the top of your list and why?
Ken Moll (4:28 PM)
Josh, There are some ?'s about Sanchez as he hasn't been a starter very long. I tend to agree with Pete Carroll about him not making a wise decision. I would say that Stafford is the top QB right now-
Brett (Houston, TX)
As a former Coe College football player and recent graduate, it warms the cockles of my heart to see Fred Jackson doing so well in Buffalo. Do you see the Bills keeping him? Does he get more involved in the offense this year? Or will he always be relegated to a third down back?
Ken Moll (4:30 PM)
Brett, I have seen lot's of tape on him and he is a very good football player. I'm sure the Bills will try and keep him . Having two effective ball carriers is what most teams need -
Steiny (NYC)
Which one of these two players that came on strong late in the season for their respected teams has a better chance to start at running back come opening day next season. Michael Bush or Cedric Benson?
Ken Moll (4:32 PM)
Steiny, No question it's Cedric Benson. I think the Cincy coaching staff as well as the front office feels like they have found a featured back in Benson. Bush should be used more in 2009 but don't see him as the guy to carry the bulk of the carries.
Steiny (NYC)
What are your thoughts on the job that Bill Belichick did in New England Patriots this season giving all of the injuries that the Patriots faced?
Ken Moll (4:34 PM)
Steiny, BB (and his staff) did an excellent job given the number of injures (esp. Brady) to win eleven games. That's why he will be a Hall of Fame coach !!
Derek (Houston)
As a Cowboys fan, who do you think I should root for if it's a Steelers-Eagles matchup in the Super Bowl? If the Steelers win, they have the most Super Bowl wins. If the Eagles win, then... I vomit everywhere.
Ken Moll (4:36 PM)
Derek, That is a tough call, But I still would root for your NFC rivals as it gives that division Bragging rights for the past two seasons! Makes the thought that it's the toughest Division in football even more true !!
Steiny (NYC)
Is Tim Ruskell's job in jeopardy?
Ken Moll (4:37 PM)
Steiny, I would think so, he really hasn't done much with the draft or in Free agency !!
AL(INDY)
If KC loses Tony Gonzalez does KC need to sign a big WR to give Thigpen and Bowe a chance?
Ken Moll (4:38 PM)
Al, IF , BIG IF they loose Tony they need to have another BIG target to help their young signal caller --
Anthony (NYC)
Ken do Trent Cole & Darren Howard step their games up to apply constant pressure on Warner or will the Cards O-line hold up for Warner to pick the Eagles apart?
Ken Moll (4:40 PM)
Anthony, I see Jim Johnson dialing up lot's of pressure packages in this match up (from all areas of the field and defense)- If Warner gets time to scan the field it will be a long day for Philly, But I don't see it happening that way !!
Rick(Toledo)
Am I nuts thinking that the Patriots screwed up franchising Cassel? If they can't trade him, they'restuck with franchise money for 2 QBs.
Ken Moll (4:45 PM)
Rick, It is a strange situation but not sure if Brady is going to be healthy or the same and Cassel is a good insurance policy - I don't see both of them being there in 2009 if they are both healthy !!
Mike (philly)
The Cards have faced two run heavy teams who had to abandon the run and go through the air. Will Arizona have trouble with a past first offense where McNabb spreads the ball around as opposed to just one receiver like Roddy White or Steve Smith?
Ken Moll (4:47 PM)
Mike, I do think they have a bit of a problem with the Philly offense wanting to put the ball up 1st and throw it second. If the O-l holds up I see McNabb having a big day-
mike. b'more
i love that no one has confidence in the Ravens. This is just like in 2000 when everyone picked the Raiders to roll over the Ravens in the AFC Championship. I think the Rex and company are going to play their hearts out and make up for the 2 games stolen earlier in the year.
Ken Moll (4:48 PM)
Mike, You have to admitt that the FRavens were VERY fortunate to win last weekend- They got pushed around some and could have easily lost by two touch downs --
AL(INDY)
Larry Johnson is pretty much worn out his welcome in KC.Who would show the most intrest in him and what is his trade value at this point?
Ken Moll (4:50 PM)
Al, You never know - With a new GM and head coach (likely) he may be best to stay right where he is at.
Anthony (NYC)
Ken what is going on with this new trend in the NFL where Owners are hiring Coaches before the GM? One of the most important hires is that of a coach yet the GM has no say so, actually now the coach is hiring the GMs, why not make this a package deal?
Ken Moll (4:51 PM)
Anthony, Yes, It's a bit strange to make the head coaching hire first but that just means the GM doesn't have much power once in place------
Otto (CA)
Do you think the 49ers need to address the RB position? I thought Foster was a bust and Singletary may want to run more than Martz did this year.
Ken Moll (4:53 PM)
OTTO, No question that Mike will want to pound the ball and need another back - Like to see them get a BIG Power back (I mean big 250 plus lbs.) - that would be right up Singletary's alley--
Steiny (NYC)
How impressed were you with the way Steven Jackson ended the season?
Ken Moll (4:55 PM)
Steiny (lots of ?'s) - Steven Jackson is one of the top backs in the league when healthy- He was on a poor football team but is extremely talented --
Ed (Saginaw, MI)
Let's pretend you running the Lions for a minute. Off the top of your head, who would you take with the # 1 pick and why?
Ken Moll (4:58 PM)
ED, I would trade the first pick but often times that easier said than done. I belive in building a team from inside out - Build the O and D- lines first - No sense in getting a high profiel QB and have him running for his life - Have to look at the BIG picture - Most of the better clubs in the league have very solid running games and can stop the run- Work on that first than get your expensive play makers on board!
Anthony (NYC)
If a team were interested in Micheal Bush, is he worth a 2nd rd pick or a 3rd rd pick?
Ken Moll (4:59 PM)
Anthony, Not sure about a second round pick but no question the Raiders could get a third round pick for him -----
Ken Moll (5:00 PM)
