Antonio Margarito (2:02 PM)
I'm ready for the fight and your questions so let's get started!
Will (Springdale, Ar)
Good Luck on your fight. How will you slow Shame down? did you study his fight with V. Forrest?
Antonio Margarito (2:03 PM)
With out a doubt. I think V. Forrest very well and I watched tape of that fight to see what he did well so that I can do the same.
Guero (palatine, IL)
Antonio who are the 3 fighters u want to fight this year?
Antonio Margarito (2:05 PM)
I don't really pick and choose who I fight. My promoters usually handle that. I just want to fight the champions like Andre Berto.
Who's the biggest puncher you ever been in the ring with?
Antonio Margarito (2:07 PM)
I think the hardest punchers that I have fought are Alfredo Akama and Danny Perez.
How do you motivate yourself to fight at the level you did against Cotto against a guy that Cotto beat?
Antonio Margarito (2:09 PM)
I motivate myself for every fight. Every fight is important. I know if I'm ready for a fight then I will do well.
Hey Antonio, im only 15 years old and your fight with Cotto really got me into boxing. Would you be willing to do a rematch with him?
Antonio Margarito (2:10 PM)
Without a doubt Cotto proved himself to be a great champion. If the fans want to see a rematch and the promoters can get it together, then I would love to fight him again.
Why turn down the rematch with Williams for 4 million?
Antonio Margarito (2:12 PM)
I don't know if the money was ever really there. My promoter takes care of all that. At the time, I did want to fight Cotto but it's not in my hands.
Antonio are you looking for the KO in your fight with Shane?
Antonio Margarito (2:13 PM)
I never go looking for a knockout. I get in the ring to fight 12 rounds, if I get a knockout then great. If not, I will just have to win it in 12.
Hey Antonio, good luck this weekend. Are you looking to avenge your loss to Paul Williams?
Antonio Margarito (2:15 PM)
I hope to fight him again at welterweight. I had a bad night the last time we met, but I know if we fight again that I can beat him.
Raul Villalobos, San Juan, P.R.
I became a huge fan during your tremendous turnaround against Cotto, but my question is, will you bring that same fire and intensity that you brought against Cotto, now that you finally reached the top?
Antonio Margarito (2:16 PM)
I always go in the ring to fight with the same passion that I always do. That will never change.
Are you looking forward to fighting in Los Angeles again? Lots of Mexican fans rooting for you, hoping for a knockout!!
Antonio Margarito (2:18 PM)
Yes, I'm very happy that the fight is in LA. This is wear I train and it's close to my home in Tijuana, Mexico.
Alberto kissimmee, FL
do you think you have truly become the number 1 welterweight in the division?
Antonio Margarito (2:19 PM)
I believe so. Before I faught Cotto, he was the number one guy and now that I have beat him I think the title should go to me.
Antonio Margarito (2:21 PM)
This fight is for all my fans. Thank you for all the support and be sure to tune in Saturday night at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on HBO.
