You can check out the show on webcam today: http://kodigital.com/superweek09/mtvp/
Steiny (NYC)
Hey SVP, how are you doing today?
ESPNRadio.com (1:02 PM)
Scott is great, enjoying the Tampa weather. You can see some new photos of him on ESPNRadio.com
Nate (Madison)
Did Scott hire a spokesperson for this chat?
ESPNRadio.com (1:04 PM)
Scott was busy tracking down guests in Tampa, so we're back here in Bristol enjoying the show and chatting with the peeps.
Mark (Indy)
Is there anyway that I can find out where to catch Tirico and Van Pelt on the internet?
ESPNRadio.com (1:06 PM)
Right here on ESNRadio.com! Click "Listen live" or "watch on webcam"
Al (Kahalik, MN)
Soooo phantom chatter, what makes you worthy of supplanting the great SVP?
ESPNRadio.com (1:06 PM)
I was the only one who made it into work today.
Lisa (White Hall, MD)
Glad the guys are enjoying the warm weather in Tampa. Maryland has been a mess with the snow and ice. The snow is great, but the ice is so dangerous.
ESPNRadio.com (1:07 PM)
The ice has been awful! Fell coming home from work yesterday.
ESPNRadio.com (1:07 PM)
Amanda is enjoying the Tampa sun.
Aaron (Brandon, SD)
Is this Amanda?
Brandon (Akron)
Hope everyone has a nice day!
Steiny (NYC)
Will Tom Brady be ready for training camp?
ESPNRadio.com (1:08 PM)
That's what the reports are. But what does everyone think?
Mario(Cincinnati, OH)
What do you think Mcnabb's future is in philly? and what other teams do you feel would be a good fit for him?
Steiny (NYC)
Toomer said yesterday that he doubts he will be back next with the Giants next year. Do you think he deserves to be back?
Gray (Chicago)
Hey Scott, tough travelling call on Henderson last night...shouldn't the ref swallow his whistle in that situation and let the game be decided in OT?
PaulieP (Scottsdale)
What is this snow and ice you speak of?
ESPNRadio.com (1:10 PM)
boooo :(
Lisa (White Hall, MD)
Prior to this year, I would have loved to have McNabb as the Raven's QB
Lisa (White Hall, MD)
My husband slipped on the ice outside our garage this morning. Pulled his back out. Just awful!
ESPNRadio.com (1:10 PM)
Yeah, it's awful
Pete (NC)
Is there any order down there in Tampa? All these shows seem to be off schedule trying to track down guests.
ESPNRadio.com (1:11 PM)
It's getting pretty packed in Tampa today. But we've got some great guests coming up on Tirico & Van Pelt today...
ESPNRadio.com (1:12 PM)
Derrick Brooks, Drew Brees, Bob Knight, Faith Hill, Matthew Stafford and Ray Lewis
john (oxford)
espn radio chat person, sorry to hear about the fall, are you experiencing any neck or back pain? you could be eligible for a large $cash settlement...
ESPNRadio.com (1:12 PM)
haha, so the commercials tell me!
Trader Joe (the store not my name)
Roddick fell to Federer again, is he just like Phil in that he can only have success if he isn't playing against Tiger?
ESPNRadio.com (1:13 PM)
To be fair to Roddick and Phil... Federer and Tiger are pretty good!
ESPNRadio.com (1:14 PM)
Ron Jaworsi's coming up soon too!
Mike (Tampa, FL)
It seems to me that Mr. ESPNRadio.com can do everything Scott can do. He better be careful or else his job might not be there when he gets back from the bowl that is super
ESPNRadio.com (1:16 PM)
No one can replace Scott!
Lisa (White Hall, MD)
Jaws is the best...
Rafi Nadal (Down Under)
What is this thing you call losing to Federer? Never heard of it.
Kylie (Austin)
Yes, no one can replace Scott :)
ESPNRadio.com (1:17 PM)
There's a brand new photo of Scott on ESPNRadio.com today!
Kylie (Austin)
Sorry, I just felt that was my cue...
ESPNRadio.com (1:17 PM)
nicely done
Kylie (Austin)
Really? That's fabulous news. Can you see the shoes in the pic?
ESPNRadio.com (1:19 PM)
Still trying to track down those
ESPNRadio.com (1:19 PM)
I don't know golf, but maybe someone has an answer for this question...
Chris: (LA,CA)
SVP! Superbowl is almost here! I wanted to ask you about the FBR though. Is the tee shot on 16 with a full crowd the toughest shot in golf? Sawgrass 17? What are your thoughts? Thanks and enjoy the football.
ESPNRadio.com (1:19 PM)
or maybe to this question...
John (Houston)
Of these two players that are not as good anymore Amare Stoudemire or Tracy Mcgrady who will be traded first?
Kylie (Austin)
Hahaha sounds good... hard at work as always...
Lisa (White Hall, MD)
Kylie - we have been waiting for you to enter the building...
Steiny (NYC)
The 49ers interviewed Raye for their offensive coordinator job. Do you think he will get the job?
David Decatur, Alabama
The steelers defense was ranked number 1 last year but still took a beating against the patriots high powered offense. Does this strengthen the argument for a Cardinals victory?
Kylie (Austin)
Haha Why is that Lis?
Lisa (White Hall, MD)
What kind of chat would this be without you involved
R J , PA
Scott, What is your predicition for the Big Ten teams getting into the tournament? Penn State is having their best season in years, and have a couple big wins to their credit do you think they have a shot?
Dude (Dayton)
UD has the same record as XU! 18-2
Pete (NC)
The toughest shot in golf? The putt on the 72nd hole to win a major.
ESPNRadio.com (1:26 PM)
Glad to see most of the regulars are here. We pulled a "tag your man" on this end and have switched moderators halfway through. Pulled the goalie.
AMR (Cleveland)
Is it just me, or is Scott looking hotter (as in looks, not weather) than ever!
ESPNRadio.com (1:29 PM)
I am going to take your word for it. I'm sure some of the ladies here would be willing to offer an opinion.
Kylie (Austin)
I'm famous for offering my opinion on how attractive SVP is.. and he always looks hot...
ESPNRadio.com (1:32 PM)
And there you have it. I wish the comedian from last week would make a return appearance. He was rather amusing.
Dude (Dayton)
Yeah, he got a hair cut
Chris (Providence, RI)
Will whoever is behind the ESPNRadio.com keyboard offer a Superbowl Pick?
ESPNRadio.com (1:35 PM)
Hello, my name is Frank. I love Arizona and I'm hopeful it will be a good game, but I worry about the Cardinals being able to protect Warner against the blitz. LeBeau will have had two weeks to prepare, so I'm sure there will be some new schemes. Therefore, I am going with Pittsburgh 27-20. I will be cheering for the Cardinals, though. And I think Fitzgerald will get his numbers. What about everyone else here?
AMR (Cleveland)
It's been rough watching Sportscenter this week without SVP. I'm used to 3 hours web cam and 1 hour on tv. Withdrawl is worse than the addiction!
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Crap! I totally forgot about the chat today.
Al (Kahalik, MN)
Honestly, what is the deal with the coin toss? Why have people become such big fans of tails? You have to call heads right? If for no other reason than its heads. Calling tails is worse than taking evens in 'odds or evens' or throwing paper first in 'rock, paper, scissors' IT IS SO FRUSTRATING!
Kylie (Austin)
Wow Frank, that was great commentary. Kudos...
ESPNRadio.com (1:38 PM)
Thank you, thank you. I will be here all week. Arizona has done a tremendous job of picking up the blitz thus far in the playoffs. It's going to take their best effort on Sunday.
Lisa (White Hall, MD)
Well hello Frank
ESPNRadio.com (1:38 PM)
Hello!
Kylie (Austin)
Oh, and I agree with you
ESPNRadio.com (1:39 PM)
Great minds think alike.
Hutch (Htfd.)
Hi Frank. You and Beans make a great team.
ESPNRadio.com (1:39 PM)
Thanks. I've never heard that before. Nor did "Frank the Tank" become my nickname around the time 'Old School' came out. Joe and I make a good team, too.
AMR (Cleveland)
I'm from Cleveland so it's a safe bet I won't be rooting for the Steelers. Cards 31-27
Chris (Providence, RI)
(the rest of the AA meeting chiming in) Hi Frank!
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Hey Frank. Glad to see someone stepping up to run the chat today. Tough call for me on the Super Bowl. On one hand, I don't really care for the Steelers but on the other, I'm not big on bandwagon AZ fans celebrating a Super Bowl win. Until the Vikings win one, I guess I'll go with the Steelers.
ESPNRadio.com (1:40 PM)
Here's a good question: does a Steelers Super Bowl victory make them the model NFL franchise?
ESPNRadio.com (1:41 PM)
(And by good I meant interesting)
Kylie (Austin)
Awww... and you're sweet too! hahaha
ESPNRadio.com (1:41 PM)
ESPN is the epicenter of sweetness.
Pete (NC)
Why didn't they let you go to Tampa?
ESPNRadio.com (1:42 PM)
There are enough people there already! The parking lot has been much more empty over the past two weeks, especially this one.
AMR (Cleveland)
They would be a perfect model for the Mangini/Kokinis regime in Cleveland, no?
Kylie (Austin)
I would think so... Great ownership, great coaches, they trust their staff... They know what they're doing... b/c if you don't, you are Dallas.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I don't think the Steelers need a win to be the model franchise. Three coaches in three decades, five rings, relatively little internal controversy. Like them or not, they run a class outfit in Pittsburgh.
ESPNRadio.com (1:44 PM)
And they've been successful in multiple eras. One of the craziest things I've ever heard is that one of the Steelers title teams in the '70s (I would assume one of the earlier ones) did not have a single player on the roster who had played for another team. Such a different time. Adds to their level of success.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I think you and Kylie should exchange numbers, Frank.
ESPNRadio.com (1:45 PM)
So then everyone who ever goes to ESPNRadio.com can find my phone number? That sounds enjoyable.
Rj Memphis
Can you tell me who is going to win the sec tournament this year and get the automatic bid after last years shenanigans.
ESPNRadio.com (1:46 PM)
I think one of the teams from the East, probably Florida or Kentucky. Unless another team gets hot and comes out of nowhere. Anyone who thinks the SEC is down this season needs to look at some of the non-conference teams they've beaten.
Bob(Lowell)
No. I believe the model franchise would be in 1:8 scale and made of plastic.
Hutch ( Htfd.)
I all ready think Pitt is a model franchise, they are always in the mix. This Super Bowl would further cement my opinion. p.s People always ask me Where is Starsky?
Al (Kahalik, MN)
If you combined the heads of soon to be former Governor Blagojevich with Scott van Pelt's, you would have 2 guys with a solid head of hair, no?
ESPNRadio.com (1:47 PM)
More than enough. You can say what you want about Blago, but he is a fascinating character.
Kylie (Austin)
Mos def J.B.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
How did Florida manage to get back-to-back Super Bowls? I would have thought next year would have been either in Texas or out on the West Coast.
Pete (NC)
It doesn't hurt having Cleveland and Cincy in their division.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Although I never did care much for Terry Bradshaw. Still trying to figure out how he even got into college.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Not here. Do it off-line. I'm sure Kylie would accommodate you.
ESPNRadio.com (1:48 PM)
Is this Chuck Woolery?
Kylie (Austin)
We need a SB in Texas... then SVP will be here!! :)
ESPNRadio.com (1:49 PM)
Soon enough. Miami in 2010, Dallas/Arlington in 2011 and Indianapolis in 2012.
Kylie (Austin)
You're sure I'd accommodate?!? I'm not sure how I should take that...
Donald Williamsville,Mo
I think the Steelers are gonna crush Arizona? What do you think?
ESPNRadio.com (1:52 PM)
If Pittsburgh gets to Warner early then I could see it become a downhill battle for the Steelers. But I really do think it'll be a game in the fourth quarter. Though, one never knows with Super Bowls.
ESPNRadio.com (1:55 PM)
Five-minute warning!
Chris: (LA,CA)
Can I submit "Get in the hole!" as the most annoying comment from fans in all of sports?
Brenton (Mobile, AL)
If this new stadium gets approved in Los Angeles, how long before you think there will be a super bowl there?
ESPNRadio.com (1:56 PM)
Not long. It is pretty amazing that the NFL has continued to grow without Los Angeles (which I believe is the second-biggest market in America).
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Kylie, Frank. Frank, Kylie. You kids are on your own from here. BTW Frank, I'm more of a Roger Lodge kind of guy.
ESPNRadio.com (1:58 PM)
I think 'Blind Date' is always on. You can always find it on some channel.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I've already gotten the OK to go the the Super Bowl the next time the Vikings make it. So I've got that going for me, which is nice.
Brenton (Mobile, AL)
that is what was thinking, I figure a super bowl out there would be HUGE!!!!!!
John (Spokane,WA)
I just wanted to get your take on the steelers facing a former coach. Personally I think all the talk is over-rating a former coach playing there old team. What do yo think?
ESPNRadio.com (1:59 PM)
Well, I think it certainly plays into things, but keep in mind the Steelers know Whisenhunt and Grimm, too. Therefore, I don't think it's a huge issue.
ESPNRadio.com (2:00 PM)
Alright, folks. One minute to go. The NBA Today podcast will be posted in a few minutes. Everyone should listen to it. Also, continuing a trend ESPN Radio folks started here a few weeks ago, I will accept an F-book friendship from anyone who listens. Then we can all hang out digitally.
Bob(Lowell)
Chriss, LA. No. Get in the hole.
Brenton (Mobile, AL)
the only time former coaching match-ups matter is when there is bad blood (i.e. Bellicheck and Mangini)
Kylie (Austin)
Wow... Facebook huh?? We've come to that... How am I supposed to find you on fbook??
ESPNRadio.com (2:02 PM)
Kuselias did this on 'The Herd' a few weeks ago, so we followed suit. NBA Today, folks. There's only one Frank Dale at ESPN (to the best of my knowledge).
ESPNRadio.com (2:02 PM)
Time is up. Hopefully we get a good game on Sunday. Please stay safe and take care of each other this weekend. We'll be back with Scott next Thursday. Goodnight and good luck.
