Just a heads up folks, Lisa might be running early. So get your questions in now, she might be here sooner rather then later!
Buzzmaster (2:47 PM)
Lisa will be early!
Buzzmaster (2:48 PM)
She's going to be quick, as it's a busy day for her!
August, Seattle WA
Lisa -- congrats on a great career. Why make the announcement now instead of at the end of the season?
Lisa Leslie (2:49 PM)
I made the announcement now because I thought it would be great for the fans to get the season tickets and the autographs that they might want. If I were to end it right now, they wouldn't have the opportunity to give the fans what they need.
Do you plan to stick around and be a part of basketball and the WNBA after you retire, or will you take some time and get completley away from the sport?
Lisa Leslie (2:50 PM)
I don't know. The sky is the limit. When I finish, I would like to go into public speaking either for corporations or with the youth. I enjoy being a role model for the young kids.
Do you consider yourself the greatest player in WNBA history?
Lisa Leslie (2:50 PM)
I don't even think about stuff like that. I hope that I've had a very positive mark on the fans and league in general.
Jillian, Seattle WA
What's your all-time greatest achievement as a basketball player? Who are the top three players you've been able to play with?
Lisa Leslie (2:51 PM)
Representing my country. It's one thing to represent my city and state, but representing my country is the highlight of my career.
Lisa, what was it like winning 4 gold medals?
Lisa Leslie (2:52 PM)
It was great. To have won over a span of 16 years and being so dominant with the USA team has been my goal. Every time I put on the uniform, I've been so grateful to have done that for 16 years.
EJ Henderon Lynchburg, TN
What are your plans after u retire? any thought abought coaching at all?
Lisa Leslie (2:52 PM)
I never really thought about coaching. I'm so passionate about the sport and so into it, I might take the fun out of it for kids and young adults who might just want to play for fun.
LISA -- I LOVE YOUR GAME! Can you tell us how you and Candace Parker get along? Has she asked you for any mothering advice now that she's expecting her first child? Will she play this summer?
Lisa Leslie (2:53 PM)
I love playing with Candace. We get along great. She's like my little sister. We have no issues at all.
Keri, Bristol, Connecticut
Lisa: Have you followed the college season very closely? Is UCONN your pick to win it all? Who else do you think has a chance?
Lisa Leslie (2:54 PM)
Yes, I think UConn is untouchable. Unless they have, knock on wood, some injuries, they're a shoe-in for the title. The next best team they probably beat by 20.
How is being a mother the same/different than being a pro athlete? What's your favorite story about your daughter?
Lisa Leslie (2:55 PM)
It's crazy different. The only part that is the same is that I'm so focused and competitive that I put that time into my child's education and upbringing.
Lisa Leslie (2:56 PM)
I just want to say to all the fans, please get your season tickets. It will be a great time for my last season. I'm looking forward to coming out to your city and playing and signing autographs. You can get your books at LisaLeslie9.com.
Buzzmaster (2:56 PM)
Thanks Lisa! I told you it was going to be quick. She's got to run to yet another interview. Busy day for her!
