I dont see why everyone is so upset with A-Rod. If it wasn't for the steroid era, would we even really care about the sport as most fans do now? If not for steroids, in my opinion, I think MLB would be in the same situation as the WNBA....period!
One Fed Up Fan: NAshville
I'M SO TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT A-ROD!!! THE MAN HAS ADMITTED TO USING WHAT ELSE DOES HE HAVE TO DO? HE CAN ONLY SAY HE USED SO MANY TIMES SO MANY WAYS PLEASE CAN WE JUST MOVE ON. I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M ABOUT TO SAY THIS BUT I'M READY TO TALK YANKEES AND SOX.
Jazmin (Toms River, NJ)
What topics are being done today on 1st And 10?
sarah (north carolina)
are you kidding me? a-riod made himself worse off then pettitte and giambi! he isnt telling us the truth...please.. its really hard to believe anything that he says from now on..
Mixi (Hollywood Studio)
A-Rod's opening statement was shaky. If he wanted to be honest, he should have said his own words, not from something that was written for him. Poor A-Rod, his career is spiraling
joe lowcash [via mobile]
hello jay and dana a-rod is actually a-fraud he believe his own lies skip you nailed this one out of the park
Thomas (Sumner, Washington)
Plain and simple, A-rod gave more info than people thought he would give. I believe people should let him off the hook to a cetain point, and go after Bonds, Clemens, and all the others who are just going against the accusations.
Moderator (10:27 AM)
Here is the 2nd down topic for 1st and Ten: -discuss Jerry Jones' indecision on the fate of TO as a Cowboy
Chase (Memphis,TN)
To step away from A-Fraud for a moment... If Griffey does end up going to Atlanta, do you think he could have another 30HR year? I know he only put up 18 last year, but he's always wanted to play in Atlanta do you think that sense of being in a Brave uniform and being happy could elevate his game?
Brian (Parkersburg, WV)
I can't wait to hear what Skip has to say about "Team Obliterator".
Jay Crawford (10:33 AM)
brian, if history holds, it will be harsh and entertaining.
Jay Crawford (10:34 AM)
chase, sadly the only thing that will help griff regain is form is the same thing he's avoided using for his entire career. ken griffey jr. our last baseball hero??
Moderator (10:35 AM)
hey folks, don't forget to weigh in on our Dunks of the week, give us your rating..or disagree with the choices? 1- Lebron's All Star game dunk 2-DePaul's Dar Tucker - windmill over Louisville 3-Damian Henderson of Texas Southern down the lane vs. Grambling
Angelica Rose (Los Angeles, CA)
Jay, I hope Skip is gentle when it comes to talking Owens today. He can be a bit too harsh on him.
Jay Crawford (10:37 AM)
angelica, skip? gentle? and i want a pony for Christmas ... i hope so too though.
John (Brooklyn,NY)
Lebron had no defense on him plus he missed some dunks before making that meaningless dunk so I gotta give it to Dar Tucker.
Jay Crawford (10:37 AM)
john, i'm with you. i know defense is optional in the nba all-star game, but come on!
Kevin (Atlanta, ga)
I don't understand why everyones so upset with arod this test was not suppose to had been of record. Basically I smell a rat.. someone has it out for him or there's a leak in our federal Gov.. Arod was must have been the biggest name on that list that tested psitive. Although this doesn't mean it's right for what he did but if I was him and MLB I would start an investigation on how this info got leaked.. And if I was Arod I would look at it like this I still has nine years left on my contract to break the home run record I would just tell Bud Sielg to remove my homeruns for those years and continue on to break the record and stay clean.. What you think about that Skip.....
Ryan (VA)
Dunk voting- Lebron Negative 15 for doing a bad Harold Miner impersonation. Dar Tucker....6. Damian Henderson 10! I want that poster!
Jay Crawford (10:38 AM)
alright, skip and scoop say arod was completely phoney with his 37 second pause. believes it was genuine. what do you think??
david (wade county)
jay i challange you to a pitch-off!
joe [via mobile]
jerry has let t.o. GO but he cant because he has a ego and loves the circus and the media hype t.o. is older slower and cant catch
Jay Crawford (10:39 AM)
david, bring it!! i have a pro era 2.25, where you at?
Steve (Richmond,Va)
I hate to say it JAy but no one is the last hero for baseball till the whole list comes out on who tested positive cuz you never know what other superstars is on it!!!
Jay Crawford (10:39 AM)
steve, good point. in my mind, he's the last one though.
jacob (n.o.)
It was an act!!! all staged for simpathy
Brian (Parkersburg, WV)
I've said it before, the name of Penn and Teller's Showtime show is the same as what this press conference was....B S
Paul (Michigan)
I think he was genuine he didnt want to cry in from of billions of people
Angelica Rose (Los Angeles, CA)
37 second pause and you want me to believe it was genuine? If it were a 5-10 second pause I understand, but 37? Too long, not too believable.
Sacramento, CA
I'm a Dallas fan. SO, in a perfect world I would like to see us CUT T.O. and sign T.J. Houshmandzadeh... Is this even a remote possibility???
Matt (Toledo, OH)
lebron 8, tucker 7, damian 9
les baldwinsville ny
skip says t.o needs to leave dallas and so does alot of other people but dallas would be worse they have no good WR besides T.O and as for T.Os age doesnt matter he still the fastest guy on the team.
Jazmin (Toms River, NJ)
I just know it, Jerry is gonna release T.O.
Terence (Chantilly Va)
If the cowboys sign TJ and cut TO. Who do you blame when they blow it again
Cain (Linton, IN)
Lebron's dunk was just sick. He almost hit his head on the rim
Moderator (10:48 AM)
Cain...rate the sickness of Lebron's dunk...1-10...'just sick' is tough to quantify
Moderator (10:51 AM)
Looking ahead folks...here are the 3rd down topics to weigh in on with Skip, Jay, and Scoop -Will ARod get more sympathy out of his press conference performance?? Do you feel sorry for him? -Mike Leach and Texas Tech contract negotiations are getting contentious, whose side are you on?
Todd (New Jersey)
I feel sympathy for A-Rod because at least he was man enough to admit to what he did, unlike many of his colleagues. If he denied it, wouldnt that have been much worse in everyone's eyes? I give credit to someone who steps up the way he did.
JEFF (WISCONSIN)
HI JAY WHY ARE THE BASEBALL OWNERS NOT RECOOPING MONEY FROM THESE CHEATERS ? THEY MAKE SO MUCH MONEY AND GET BIG CONTRACTS ON WHAT THEY DID IN THE PAST BUT IF YOU CHEAT TO GET THERE DONT THEY OWE THE TEAM A REBATE? AROD, CLEMENS BONDS.........
Thomas (Seattle, WA)
A-rod gets sympathy from me. He came out and fessed up to it more than anyone else has. He was told "you may or may not" have tested positive in 2003 and since he didn't hear anything further, he thought he was good to go. I think the media should keep going after the people who won't own up to what they did. I'm not an A-rod fan at all (Seattle, WA here) but I do think he owned up to it more than anyone else has.
George (Parkston, South Dakota)
How can you feel sorry for someone who makes more money for playing one game than alot of people make in a year for doing things that matter like teach, cop, firefighter, etc. Give me a break, another spoiled, rich, cheating athlete that got caught. Its good for him.
Dana Jacobson (10:56 AM)
Hey Jeff I know this was for Jay but here's an interesting note someone shared with me the other day. lyman bostock signed with the angels in the late 70s only hit like .150 in april, it was so bad he asked to return his salary. they wouldn't take it back. I'm thinking if Arod offered the Yanks would accept. Sure would be nice to see!
nick ( clyde, ohio)
i think mike leach is insane for turning down 12.7 million! does he actually think he deserves more?
Jazmin (Toms River, NJ)
Damian gets an 8 for me because of how he did his dunk
Wes (Philly)
He got caught, thats the only reason he came out, A-Rod is a fraud and so is every one else in that era.
Supasize (Atlanta)
I have no sympathy for A-Rod. He already made $250 million and about to make another $250 million! But I would say this, for $25 million a year, pass mr the needle too.
Dana Jacobson (10:59 AM)
Sad thing is Wes, no one has just come out and said look I did this. I cheated. I was wrong, I made a mistake. No one will. John Smoltz brought this up last week on our air and I agree. The only player I'll ever believe on steroids is the one that does that. Otherwise, the era is forever tainted for me. Talented players no doubt, but still tainted.
Dana Jacobson (11:00 AM)
our facial analyst is coming up to see if arods telling the truth!! check it out
wayne (Hialeah,FL)
HERE IT IS YOU GUYS DRILL AROD FOR COMING FORWARD AND TELLING A LIE. GIVE ME YOUR INPUT IF THE SHOES WERE ON YOUR FEET AND YOU HAD TO CONFESS TO THE MILLIONS. GIVE THE MAN A BREAK, YOUTHS MAKE MISTAKES. HE OWNED UP SO LETS ALL MOVE ON.
SKIP-LOVER (ATLANTA,GA)
A-FRAUD DID DENY IT UNTIL HE WAS CAUGHT, THAT WHAT MAKES ME BELIVE HE WAS USING IN HIS EARLY YANKEE YEARS
Trevor (Ossining, NY)
Although Lebron's dunk was crazy, it was basically in a non game situation, the skill level of Tucker's dunk to catch the ball then windmill and then Ally Oop it in was so difficult and had all the components of a great dunk, skill, power and elevation. Sorry Lebron I love you, but you did it in an all star game with 10 seconds left, not a real game.
Moderator (11:02 AM)
trevor...we need 1-10 grades on these dunks with your comments...give it another shot
Richie (Roanoke, VA)
A true confession would make all the difference in the world. I want to hear, "I took steroids to increase my performance". "I researched them and this is what I took". "I made a mistake and for that I am sorry".
Laverne (Boston)
Speaking about A-Rod, Jay...you look pretty orange on my tv. I think it just may be the lighting.
Jay Crawford (11:10 AM)
laverne...hmmm. i am also from the planet orange. my shade is slightly different though.
Rob (Huntsville)
Why are we worrying about arod so much? He was right, baseball IS bigger than him. Let's get on with the present and focus on the GOOD in the game.
Jay Crawford (11:12 AM)
rob, im with you. he's one of 104 who were caught!!! how many weren't caught. i would guess more players were smart enough to stop! it was what it was. the game has policies in place now. future users will and should be sealt with more harshly.
joe [via mobile]
hey jay where do lean on a-rods purple lip stick?
Jay Crawford (11:14 AM)
hey joe, not a fan...
RJ (Boston)
The owners and Selig and all the fans and media (yes all of us) helped in many ways to foster the atmosphere that was going on... no way should any "one" player have to forfit their former salary. We were asking for it. The owners were loving it. Selig was laughing it off... we;re all a joke in this. We've all learned a lesson. Time to move on soon.
Liz (Maryland)
why is no one vindicating Jose Conseco. He was the first one to say that A-Rod was doing steroids. Arod saying that his cousin shot him up with drugs is the same thing as my dog ate my homework.
Jay Crawford (11:15 AM)
liz, agreed. if only he wasn't so shaddy!
Dana Jacobson (11:15 AM)
totally agree we are all responsible. but if there's genuine remorse, that gesture, a years salary, a days, something would say a lot. I'd like to see everyone take some responsibility so we can move on.
Dana Jacobson (11:16 AM)
that response was to RJ, sorry. Just getting the hang of this!
joe [via mobile]
dana are you a-rods cousin that gives him that purple lip stick?
Dana Jacobson (11:17 AM)
Morgan (LA, CA)
DePaul's Dar Tucker - windmill over Louisville = 9
kenny (Louisville)
that darr tucker dunk was a 10, i was at that game and it was great to see live, plus , someone has to give depaul some love, they are horrible
David Orlando,Fl
Dana. Maybe Two Years he Takes 1/2 his Salary. And gives the other half to Drug Awarness for Youths not Just Sports but all Drug Awarness
Brandon (Catnon, OH)
Caseco only wrote that book to make money....not help to game of Baseball get "clean"
Dana Jacobson (11:19 AM)
It's a thought David. Look I get it's unfair that his was the only name released. But if he wants me to believe that he's remourseful, as a multi millionaire, something financial would say something. Doesn't mean its genuine but it would be an effort
Mixi (Hollywood Studio)
Mike Leach, fired before the 2009 season begins. I forsee it now.
Johnny (Dunmore, PA)
Ms. Jacobson: Would you have released a name from a list that was supposed to be confidential if it was going to help your career? How come people aren't more critical of Selena Roberts?
Trevor (Ossining, NY)
Although Lebron's dunk was crazy, it was basically in a non game situation so I would give it a 7.5, I would have to say Henderson's dunks was pretty nice to and very difficult , but I've seen that type before so that would have to be an 8.2 but the best dunk with a score of a 9.9 would be Tucker's dunk because of the skill level to catch the ball then windmill and then Ally Oop it in was so difficult and had all the components of a great dunk; skill, power and elevation. Sorry Lebron, sorry Henderson I love your dunks also, but Tucker's dunk cannot compete.
Dana Jacobson (11:20 AM)
Johnny as I see it Selena Roberts is not a part of MLB or the players union. She was under no obligation to keep anything confidential.
Jay (PA)
Dana and Jay, I think people are a little too hard on A-rod, he admitted what he did was wrong and it was wrong, but when people continue to speculate because he didnt release the mysterious cousins name and think he is lying, well i wouldnt leave my family hanging like that, its morally correct to not involve more parties than needed. they need to just let A-rod play baseball.
Dana Jacobson (11:22 AM)
i think we all question everything surrounding all players in the "steroid" era now. Its like the first time someone lies to you, it forever changes your level of trust. Sad, perhaps. But true I think
Andrew (East Lansing)
Didn't Selena Roberts cheat somehow as well?
Dana Jacobson (11:24 AM)
I think Selena did the job an investigative journalist does. She tried to get details on baseball's biggest story since the home run chase. If she had exposed a run of the mill player it wouldn't have the impact. Adam Piatt was implicated, I believe by Tejada in the steroid hearings and no one cares. Arod's name, people care
Dana Jacobson (11:24 AM)
ok, I have to go do a segment now. How about a little more dunk contest talk. Rate em, so we can get a winner!! Jay will be back with you
Richie (Roanoke, VA)
I agree Jay but that is exactly what A-Rod should have said. He made a mistake and so did many others. Now he is clean and there are tests and policy's in place to keep it that way.
Jay Crawford (11:25 AM)
richie, i actually thought that was honorable. arod never used as an excuse alot of guys were doing it.
John (Brooklyn,NY)
Hey Jay do you think that after yesterdays press conference people are really gonna "move on" and not talk about this A rod situation?
Rick (Chicago)
Score one for Dana there.
Jay Crawford (11:26 AM)
john, not a chance! the media will continue to dig. who's the cousin, where is he? the race is on to find him.
Richie (Roanoke, VA)
He didn't say a lot of guys were doing it but he still had to bring in a cousin to share the blame with. He never said I did it. It was my decision.
Jay Crawford (11:27 AM)
richie, true, but rolling on a family member and a teammate, in the eyes of baseball, two different things. the locker room code is thick and deep.
Jay Crawford (11:28 AM)
johnny, not saying it is. but he could easily have used both, and didnt. lets face it, he had many peers in steroid use.
John (Cleveland)
i have a suggestion, get rid of selig, i think it would fix alot of problems
Thomas (Seattle, WA)
Asking anyone in ESPN to talk poorly about Ms. Roberts is futile. She writes for SI which is an ESPN magazine if I'm correct. They won't throw one of their own under the bus.
Jay Crawford (11:29 AM)
john, selig is quick to say it's not his fault, but in my mind, everyone shares the blame. players, owners, union, commissioner. everyone. remember though, he was dealing with the strongest union on the planet.
Moderator (11:29 AM)
Thomas, SI and ESPN are two seperate entities, owned by two seperate parent companies - no relation
Mixi (Hollywood Studio)
OK guys come on, let's liven the mood! Let's not be negative and focus on the positive today :) How about Dwight Howard's impressive night? What about the Hornets trading Chandler? How about them Lakers?
Moderator (11:29 AM)
mixi, superman was fly last night!
Tim Wyoming Michigan
Seriously guys... Do we really need to read A-roids facial expressions. You the media are beating all these stories like a dead horse. Enough already. Whats next the type of underwear A-rod was wearing during the press conference? No one cares, break the story move on, How about the kid who misses the free throw story!!
Moderator (11:30 AM)
Jay, Scoop and Skip will talk about Dwight's night in 4th down
Jay Crawford (11:31 AM)
tim, fair point. the free throw story is amazing, we are working on getting players on to tell it. we need more of that in sports!!!
RJ (Boston)
Jay... you forgot to say Media and Fans... you um...Liar, excuse maker... nope. You are definitely not good enough for me... I AM NOT moving on in this chat anymore. No Way, not until you say it "Right". Say it My Way, darn you
John (Brooklyn,NY)
Ok lets talk dunk rating Lebron gets a 5 because nobody was defending him.
Jay Crawford (11:33 AM)
rj, media to blame? not sure we can share in the that, but if you're talking about us being gullable in the summer of 98 and caught up in the hr chase, guilty as charged. we're you screaming these guys are on roids? most were not. as for the fans, hard to blame them. they know what they like, and it's the hr.
Jay M (Detroit)
Jay Kobe is your real fav player
Jay Crawford (11:33 AM)
jay, i am a kobe fan for sure!
Tim Wyoming Michigan
Thank you jay! This A-rod story is just so boring now, i mean 1 and 30mins a day is enough. I want more news, trade Deadline news, more nfl combine, march madness, anything but steroids, i swear it is like Clemens all over again.
Jay Crawford (11:34 AM)
tim, noted! thanks.
Rick Zachary (Thomasville, NC)
Dana how many of you in the Media would set there and tell ever detail of their private life.TO ME THE MEDIA IS WAY OVERRATED.IN SPITE OF WHAT THE MEDIA THINKS THEY DON"T NEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING>
Dana Jacobson (11:36 AM)
Rick, not asking for every detail from him. I think people want the details surrounding steroids. If a writer wrote a false story, lied in one, I believe that would be asked of him/her
glen(kentucky)
Dwight Howard is the NBA's most valuable player, enough said!
John (Brooklyn,NY)
Nate Robinson!! come one what about Nate? just because he plays for a mediocre team doesnt mean we should ignore his great performance.
Chris (Lexington, KY)
Trading Chandler will be end of New Orleans title or even playoff chances for the next few years. Chandler and CP3 were always on the same page. It's like Scoop said, it's sad to see New Orleans pick money over playoff and title chances.
jose (chicago , ill)
yes, i agree with tim no more a-rod
Dana Jacobson (11:37 AM)
Someone suggested that we are "protecting" Selena Roberts here because of an ESPN/SI relationship. I can't find the email, but I'm sorry you feel that way. It's not the case here. It's just how I feel.
RJ (Boston)
Dana, Hope you had a change to see my response to you earlier. Thanks for responding directly to my point earlier.. yada yada
Eric (Baltimore, MD)
I think that the Thunder "won" that trade with the Hornets. I've been telling my friends, the Thunder are 2 years away from a playoff contender
Dana Jacobson (11:38 AM)
Totally missed it. Just getting a hang of this. But I'll go back and look. Thanks!! And for those who've asked, Amy's not here today so Jay and I are sitting in.
Ramblin Man (Colorado)
Rick is not saying that Dana. I know you know that. He said all he needed to say and for your sport experts...so called to ask for more is out of line
Dana Jacobson (11:40 AM)
I think for anyone to expect more than what they got, anyone - fan, peer, media person, etc - was crazy. But a reporters job is to ask the questions.
Jay M (Detroit)
Dana Detroit could use Vick
Dana Jacobson (11:42 AM)
Michael Kim asked me about that yesterday. I'd take him. Two things. I love dogs. He served his time, he deserves his second chance. Wait three things. If he has his skill/talent still I'd love it in a lions uniform.
DAVID (WADE COUNTY)
Harold Minor!!! I was just talking about Baby Jordan the other day...and now they give him the shout out! that was great!
Jared (Myrtle Beach, SC)
JAY & DANA.... All ARod craziness aside.... My wife isn't allowing me to go and see you guys next month in Orlando! :-( What advice do you have that can help me convince her??? Maybe it's he money card she's playing... Actually, maybe I should ask ARod if he has any ideas for a stpry to convince her????
Jazmin (Toms River, NJ)
I think Dar gets a 9
nick ( clyde, ohio)
skip is too biased to rate the lebron all star game dunk
glen(kentucky)
andy must love lebron to give him a 9!!
Dana Jacobson (11:44 AM)
Tell her she can go on the next trip. Buy her flowers!! I don't know Jared but for anyone who can get here ESPN the Weekend is awesome! Sorry.
david (wade county)
why not vick to miami? besides parcells presense.... he's a wildcat QB....
Dana Jacobson (11:44 AM)
you said it, parcells in miami
DAVID (WADE COUNTY)
jay i want your job....where do i start?
aly (miami)
vick could use detriot
Jay Crawford (11:45 AM)
david, go to college, volunteer at radio stations, do an internship at a local station, and set sail! come join the party. it's a blast.
john (AKRON,OHIO)
i would love to see dana posterize skip.
Jay Crawford (11:45 AM)
john, i'd give a week's pay for that!
Eric (Baltimore, MD)
Detroit is another team that can be turned around in a couple of years. Look at the Falcons. It just takes a plan
Max (Iowa City, Iowa)
you guys suck, youve let like 20 people post multiple times but u havent even put one of mine up yet-and worst the rest of these people are making generic and obvious comments or asking bogus questions directly to get face time. this is bs, i bring the knowledge and thought provoking ideas and get no credit. weak dana and jay. weak.
Sean (Houston )
i agree with nick skip is too bias
John (Cleveland)
did anyone else enjoy damon responce when asked what was worse then juicing?
Jay Crawford (11:46 AM)
max, no one likes a whiner. What's your question. there are 3 of us trying to go through and a lot coming in. So what's the deal?
Jay Crawford (11:46 AM)
seasn and others, take skip for what he is. a passionate sports fan who loves to spark heated sports talk. he is very good at that, and in person, a very soft spoken and gentle man.
Dana Jacobson (11:46 AM)
ok, that was me not jay. see there's a lot to this. BUT jay doesn't like whiner's i'm sure
Jazmin (Toms River, NJ)
Keep Vick away from the Jets or Giants, give Vick to Jay's Browns.
Jay Crawford (11:47 AM)
jazmin, why not. wouldn't be their first mistake. how did we pass on ben roethlisberger?
justin (cleveland)
Who will start for the browns at QB this year and if it is Quinn what will the browns do with Derek Anderson?
Jay Crawford (11:47 AM)
justin, survey says: brady quinn
Thomas (Seattle, WA)
Dana dunk on Skip? I'd buy that poster!
DAVID (WADE COUNTY)
locker room code is thick indeed.....but jay...if the guy in the locker next to you is taking a spot in the rotation, leaving you out of the mix, and you know he's juicing...doesn't that change the code just a little bit, based on pure human emotion?
Dana Jacobson (11:48 AM)
you know i'll talk trash on anything. hops i don't have. maybe with a tramp!
Jay Crawford (11:48 AM)
david, the code has changed, and is changing as we speak. more of a "every man for himself" feel than even before.
Rick (Chicago)
I think even Jay would agree that Vick and the "Dog Pound" wouldnt be a good mix
glen(kentucky)
Michael Vick should try an play WR, cause he wasn't a great QB to start with.
Jay Crawford (11:48 AM)
rick, i do... not a good mix at all.
Erlinda (Michigan)
Dana, I would not want Vick as a Lion. The media circus and scrutiny from that is not what the Lions need.
Ryan (Iowa City)
Quinn is a talentless wannabe
Jay Crawford (11:49 AM)
ryan, let's wait before we cast final judgement. remember, notre dame was still relevant when quinn was throwing pigskins in south bend. not saying he'll be great, but it's still early.
Trevor Ossining, NY
Jay, you pronounced Ossining right! It is a town in Westchester, home of Sing Sing Prison. Thanks for putting me on!!
Dana Jacobson (11:50 AM)
I think you've got to evaluate where he is nfl shape/ability wise after this long absense. BUT circus wise, please. After 0-16, I really would try it. He's mobile obviously and with threatening receivers, could be interesting
Jay Crawford (11:50 AM)
trevor, excellent! i try...
nick ( clyde, ohio)
jay, i think the browns should go after beanie wells....they need a younger rb cause lewis is old
Jay Crawford (11:51 AM)
hi nick, perkins wrestler here! ha! i would love if they drafted beanie. big, power runner is what they need.
Jason (SC)
But the Lions do need wins. I think Vick could help them with that.
Travis (Compton, CA)
Dana & Jay, you guys are awesome! Why is Skip such a punK?!
Dana Jacobson (11:51 AM)
one win, is a step up
Jay Crawford (11:51 AM)
travis, thanks! but seriously, skip in real life, alright!
Max (Iowa City, Iowa)
Jay, all i was curious about was your thoughts and possibly SKip and Scoop on the possibility that A-Rod is opening himself and his cousin up to prosecution by admitting the smuggling of illegal drugs across international borders and not giving a name. Law enforcement went after Phelps like crazy because of a photo of him smoking marijuana. What will they do with a name of A=Rod's felon accomplice and a public confession, or more interesting what will they do to A-Rod if they ask him for a name and he refuses?
Jay Crawford (11:52 AM)
max, interesting, and absolutely. authourities will be looking for alex's cousin, and will probably talk to alex himself at somepoint.
Dana Jacobson (11:54 AM)
max for what its worth..my take, you may be right. Not sure if Arod would be in trouble, didn't he say the cousin brought them over. Law enforcement in phelps's case is known in that county for a harsh stance on drugs. A lot of people said the sheriff was embarrassed by the photo. Also, could the drugs have been brought in legally? I'm not sure. I mean if they were legal there and for the cousin. Not sure if intent of use here would matter. More questions than answers. Sorry
John (louisiana)
jAY.Goodell needa to keep Vick as far away from football as possible, HE IS A CANCER!!
Dana Jacobson (11:56 AM)
John, why doesn't he deserve a second chance? And I ask that again as a huge dog lover. Anyone who knows me will tell you that. BUT he served his time. Leonard Little was involved in a DUI death. He's playing. Should he not be?
Max (Iowa City, Iowa)
Dana and Jay- please excuse the whining. I haven't slept much. You guys are great, I love the show. Dana you're gorgeous! Tell Skip if you see him I'd dominate him in a debate.
christian (carmel,indiana)
Hey guys i never get my comment on so can you this time please. Um i was wondering who you guys think will win the final four. I am a huge duke fan so im rooting for my blue devils. but i think pitt will win. who do you think will win??
Dana Jacobson (11:57 AM)
You're forgiven it was a good question!!
Lance (New York, N.Y.)
All this talk and nothing about how far south the Clippers have gone with recently acquired Zach Randolph throwing a punch in a FORTY-POINT LOSS to Phoenix? For all the embarrassment the Knicks have been the past few years, I think the Clippers are trying to take it to another level.

christian...your on!!! and sorry, i think it's unc's year.
Dana Jacobson (12:06 PM)
they've been at that level before I fear. As a former sacramentan - they've made the hop back too, sadly
nick ( clyde, ohio)
dana, do you think michigan will get in the big dance this year?
Dana Jacobson (12:08 PM)
Right now the real me, not the fan me, has them just on the outside...realistically. Lunardi had them last 4 out a few days ago, i agree right now but they can change that in the next 2 weeks.

Dana, I believe part of the problem as to why some think Vick doesnt dererve another chance is because of the amount of time "the media" spends on painting such a dark picture of the circumstances surrounding the situation involving his felony charges

thanks everyone for chatting today

I read the indictment. It was heinous. That isn't even a strong enough word. I was sickened and honestly, girly as it sounds, probably grabbed my dog right after and held her for a bit. So I can in a sense understand that. But he still deserves the chance. You Fred are right though, not sure if its just the media picture, just the actual picture.
