ameer (irvington, nj)
hey bill, will the chiefs get romeo crennel as their next defensive cordinator?
Bill Williamson (2:03 PM)
Hey folks, lets get rolling .. I know there has been some discussions. But he is rehabbing from a hip replacement surgery. if he doesn't come in as the coordinator, perhaps Crennel will come in as a consultant.
Nick (Denver CO)
Hey Bill, How many games do you think B-Marsh will be suspended for? I have heard between 3 and 8 games.
Bill Williamson (2:06 PM)
At this point, it's a guessing game but I'd say 4 or 8 games.
Hey Bill, good work debating Tim Graham on Cutler v Cassel. My question is: As of now, the only way I see Cutler leave is if he refuses to play and demands a trade. Do you see this happening?
Bill Williamson (2:06 PM)
Thanks, Ryan, Tim smoked me. I think you are right about the Cutler deal. I think ultimately he will calm down and be in Denver but the relationship with McDaniels may never be perfect.
Tom, Den. Co.
Bill, what do you think of an interest from the Broncos towards T.O.? With the possibility of B. Marshall being out for a few games, & them not getting David Anderson from Houston, you see it as a possibility?
I anticipate this chat to be heavily Bronco oriented but whats probability TO goes to Oakland and just runs Al Davis out of town???
Bill Williamson (2:08 PM)
AIt's about any time you want, Chris. Yes I could see Davis going after Owens. It makes perfect sense,
Do you think Denver will ultimately trade Tony Shefler? Is this a wise move on their part? He seems like he's just getting started in this league!
Bill Williamson (2:10 PM)
Apparently, Scheffler doesn't fit McDaniels' offense because he likes using a one tight end set and he has Daniel Graham,. I think trading Scheffler would be a mistake. He is a valuable player and it would only upset Jay Cutler more, McDaniels has to find a way to fit Scheffler in.
Scott (Los Angeles)
If the Raiders do sign TO, do you think they should still target Crabtree in the draft? Or focus on the o-line? A Russell, McFadden, Owens, Crabtree offense would be dynamite...
Bill Williamson (2:12 PM)
Yes, because Owens is 35. Owens and Crabtree would a very nice receiving pair and it would make Oakalnd's offense very solid.
Victor, Miami, Florida
Terrell Owens in 47 games 235 receptions 3587 yards and 38 td?s in 3 seasons with the Cowboys. How is that the problem?
Bill Williamson (2:14 PM)
His production was never the problem.
Drew (Shelby, NC) [via mobile]
I know it's not in your division (yet) but what do you see happening with the Julius Peppers saga?
Bill Williamson (2:15 PM)
I think ultimately he stays in Carolina.
Victor (city of angels)
hello Bill, any update on Khalif Barnes trip to oakland?
Bill Williamson (2:16 PM)
Could be something on that later in the day. I could see him signing there.
Why would TO go to a losing team? Won't he go to a contender to prove everyone wrong? Where is he going Bill!!
Bill Williamson (2:17 PM)
I don't know if he is going to have that many choices, Mike. He may have to take what he can get.
Dwayne Kansas City, MO [via mobile]
With our new look in KC, what will happen with our vets that have asked to be released or traded? Waters, Johnson, and Tony G
Bill Williamson (2:19 PM)
I think it may take some time. It will be very inteeresting to see what Kansas CIty does, but I can see the Chiefs holding onto these players if it gets past the draft.
Jimmy (San Diego, CA)
Do you think its true that players dont want to play in Oakland or is that just an urban myth that is resolved by money? Any impact free agents you see the Raiders signing?
Bill Williamson (2:21 PM)
Everything is solved by money in the NFL. But I don't think Oakland is a top choice for money players these days.
Jake: (Austin, TX)
Hey Bill, do you see Roy Williams (previously with the cowboys) being picked up by any of the AFC West teams and if not what team would you think he might wind up at?
Bill Williamson (2:22 PM)
Every team, other than Denver maybe, could use a safety. It will be interesting. But his play has slipped pretty badly.
Is there any chance Owens is going to the 49ers?
Now that Grady Jackson, Colin Cole, and Albert Haynesworth are off the market, who do you see the Broncos get as an NT?
Bill Williamson (2:24 PM)
Maybe New England's Mike Wright.
Robert (Latrobe, PA)
If the Chiefs end up taking one of the top tackles, will Albert be moved inside to guard or put at RT?
Bill Williamson (2:26 PM)
I could see hm being moved to right tackle.
Ryan (San Diego)
What is the latest on the Chargers with Jermaine Phillips?
Bill Williamson (2:27 PM)
It's been quiet. I think they are still trying to work it out.
Ryser (Miami, FL)
Ey Bill... do you see T.O signing with the titans ? all they need is a proven wideout and I think coach Fisher can keep him in check
Bill Williamson (2:29 PM)
I saw where Herm Edwardss said it on ESPN that it would be a good fit. It sure would on the field, but teams have to be scared of his kanck for ruining locker rooms, don't they?
seanie mac (philadelphia, pa) [via mobile]
should the chargers go after TO and become a legit super bowl threat?
Bill Williamson (2:30 PM)
That would be out of character for A.J. Smith.
Hi Bill, any thoughts on whether or not the Packers are going to rely on the draft for strengthening their team or if they will make a move in free agency?
Bill Williamson (2:31 PM)
Ted Thompson always relies on the draft and I expect that to be the case this season as well.
scott ( huntington beach )
Hey Bill!! Is it me or does it seem like McDaniels is trying a little too hard to make this team like New England. I mean come on with the long snapper signign when our long snapper was just fine, and not to mention Lamont Jordan??
Bill Williamson (2:32 PM)
No, it's not just you.
Tim (San Diego)
Hey Bill, not biting on the Cutler, Rivers comparison, huh? Too much controversy for you?
Bill Williamson (2:33 PM)
What are we talking about here, Tim?
david [via mobile]
Do you think to might go back to philly?
Bill Williamson (2:34 PM)
Not a chance.
Patrick (Baltimore, MD)
What is Scheffler worth on the trade market?
Bill Williamson (2:37 PM)
Probably a second or third rounder. i just don't think it is worth dealing him.
David ( Dallas Tx)
Bill I'd like to see KC draft Crabtree. Your thoughts?
Bill Williamson (2:38 PM)
Crabtree and Bowe would be a nice combo but he Cheifs have so many other needs.
do you see T.O with the chiefs if so whats the chance of him going there? I mean they were trying to get bobby emgram?!
Bill Williamson (2:40 PM)
Owens and new Chiefs coach Todd Haley didn't have a great relationship in Dallas in 2006 so that one may be a hard sell.
hey bill what do you make of the hold up on the tomlinson resigning? whats more likely to you? they resign him or dont come to terms & let him walk?
Bill Williamson (2:41 PM)
I still think he stays but the longer it drags out, I think the chances of him leaving increases.
Tim (San Diego)
Bill, Rivers and Cutler are both starting their third year as starters. At this point who is the better QB?
Bill Williamson (2:45 PM)
Rivers is entering his fourth season as the starter. I like both of these guys but give the nod to Rivers because he has won more but the rivalry is still in the early stages.
devin bachman howell michigan
is there any more news about the lions getting cutler
Bill Williamson (2:47 PM)
All of that talk has quieted down since the Broncos said they will not trade him. But Cutler and the Broncos still have some hashing out to do so we wil see if the talks resume.
I can't wait to see T.O. dance on Dallas' star at mid field when he scores against them. You know it's coming....Class act!
Bill Williamson (2:48 PM)
The first chance he gets.
What will Denver do with all of its RB's!? They have 6! Who do u think will get cut, who will play, and who will ride the pine?
Bill Williamson (2:50 PM)
The three new guys will stay,. I can't see Hillis and Torain getting cut. I think Selvin Young may be in trouble.
Dee (Greenville, NC)
Any word on Burnett yet from SD? I keep hearing about his coverage skills and that would be an immediate help for the Bolts because they are surely lacking in that area. Hopefully Phillips signs as well
Bill Williamson (2:52 PM)
I think like the Phillips situation, I think Burnett could end up in San Dieog. His situation could be resolved soon.
Andrew Lakewood Co
With the likely suspension of brandon Marshall. Do you see the Denver Broncos go after T.O.
Bill Williamson (2:54 PM)
I just don't see it.
Micah (Kansas City)
With the number three pick do you think the Chiefs will go with an OL or a DL or LB now that the QB situation has been resolved?
Bill Williamson (2:57 PM)
Right now, I see the Chiefs taking Wake Forest lineback Aaron Curry.
Out of all the AFC West teams, who were winners and who were losers in FA as of now?
Bill Williamson (2:59 PM)
Denver has grabbed 12 guys and the other three teams have not done much so it's hard to say right now.
hey bill if you were gonna draft a player for the raiders who would you pick other than michael crabtree?
Bill Williamson (2:59 PM)
One of those top left tackles.
josh (fort worth texas_ [via mobile]
What do the broncos need to do to regain the trust of cutler
Bill Williamson (3:00 PM)
Give him a long-term deal.
Bill Williamson (3:01 PM)
Great hour, everyone. Talk to you next week.
