Chat with Knowshon Moreno

Moreno is the No. 1 rated running back in the NFL draft, according to Scouts Inc., in addition to being the 14th best overall player. He ran 250 times for 1,400 yards and 16 TDs in the 2008 season. In 2007, he had over 1,300 yards and 14 TDs.
According to Moreno's Scouts Inc.'s draft profile, he is a big character guy, saying that he "immediately took over as a team leader when he cracked the starting lineup as a freshman in 2007. Not a vocal leader but leads by example. Great practice player. Ultra competitive. His relentless style of play is infectious ... Feet are seemingly always moving. Displays good ball security. Plays the game with a non-stop motor."
Send in your questions now, then join Moreno on Tuesday at 1:20 p.m. ET!

Knowshon will be here in minutes!
Knowshon Moreno (1:24 PM)
Hey, how's it going? I appreciate you having me.
Kyle (Boston, MA)
Knowshon, first of all - congratulations on making it big. You're an amazing athlete and it was fun watching you, I can't wait to see you in the NFL. That being said, which team would you most like to play for in the NFL - and don't give me the "I'm just happy to make it" stuff! Good luck!
Knowshon Moreno (1:25 PM)
I wouldn't mind playing for anyone! It would be nice to go back home, just to be around family and friends, but I'm sure they'll be around visiting regardless. So that is the answer--I wouldn't mind going anywhere.
Larry (Pasco, WA)
What NFL RB is your playing style most like?
Knowshon Moreno (1:26 PM)
I like watching LT. I like the way that Adrian Peterson runs...probably a combination of both. Maybe a Walter Payton type--he was a great back. I just love the way those guys run the ball.
Michael (Athens, Ga)
Knowshon, how have you been preparing for the NFL? You missed a big snow day this week
Knowshon Moreno (1:27 PM)
Just training right now in Dallas. I'm at Michael Johnson's performance center. I'm working on running back drills, speed work, and getting stronger.
Jimmy (chicago)
Do you feel your 40 time has affected your draft position?
Knowshon Moreno (1:27 PM)
I'm not really sure. I would have loved to run faster, but I believe I ran really well. Coaches have tape, so they'll look at that. I'm running at my pro day, so I'm pretty happy with my performance.
Steiny (NYC)
Who has been the biggest influence on your career thus far?
Knowshon Moreno (1:29 PM)
My family. My grandmother and mom have been there for me from day one. Friends as well. My head coach, Steve Antonucci, from high school.
JB, Philadelphia, PA
Knowshon...are those stories about you in elementary school, dodging every kid on the play ground, true? You're going to give my team a very big lift in 2009. Go Webelos!
Knowshon Moreno (1:29 PM)
That was a while back. I do remember something like that, but I was always doing something funny in elementary school. I could see myself doing something like that.
Chad (Las Vegas)
Do you believe that playing vs the best defenses in CFB in the SEC has better prepared you for the NFL?
Knowshon Moreno (1:30 PM)
I think the SEC is definitely just a couple notches below the NFL. It's definitely helped me prepare for the next level. Defenses are fast, everyone is strong, and every team can beat you on any given day. But I still have a lot to learn.
James Howell (Indianapolis)
What made you want to come out early?
Knowshon Moreno (1:31 PM)
Financial reasons was one. It was basically just cherishing this opportunity to go somewhere early and further my career. It was definitely a tough decisions, but I felt I needed to do what was best for my family and for my career.
Kathy, Winder, GA
Knowshon, we loved having you at UGA and will miss seeing you between the Hedges. What will you miss most about your time at UGA? Good Luck and come back to see us when you can!
Knowshon Moreno (1:32 PM)
Definitely the fans. That was one of the main things--coming out of that tunnel and having 90,000 fans screaming for Georgia. My teammates as well--the great relationships I had with those guys, I'll miss a lot.
Kevin (Athens, GA)
Knowshon, what is the fondest memory of your college career? Thanks, and Go Dawgs!
Knowshon Moreno (1:33 PM)
There's a lot of memories I have of Georgia, but wearing those black jerseys for the first time playing against Auburn--that was awesome.
Matt (PHX)
Knowshon, would you have a prefer being THE guy or being part of a rotation, for example the new Wind for the Giants now that Ward has left?
Knowshon Moreno (1:34 PM)
Either/or is good. I believe I can be a four down back, but a lot of teams are in a two-back system, and I could adjust to that as well. I was in a three-back system with Thomas Brown and Craig Lumpkin, so I'm used to it. It keeps everyone healthy.
Michael (Athens, Ga)
Do you think you would be prepared enough to start in the NFL today?
Knowshon Moreno (1:35 PM)
I wouldn't say TODAY--I have to get in, learn the system, and adjust. Coming from high school to college was an adjustment, and it'll be an even bigger one going to the next level.
Ryan (New York)
Knowshon - What did it feel like getting hit by Brandon Spikes?
Knowshon Moreno (1:36 PM)
It wasn't any different from any other hits in this game. Nothing that hasn't happened before.
Steiny (NYC)
What was the best advice that Mark Richt has ever given you?
Knowshon Moreno (1:36 PM)
Just how to be a person off the field--how to be a Christian man and respect everyone. He's been in my corner with this whole process.
Knowshon Moreno (1:39 PM)
Thank you for having me again, and I hope to talk to you again soon!
