Drew will be here in about 10 minutes, everyone! He's just finishing up some TV commitments.
Drew Carey (2:17 PM)
Hi everyone. I'm typing this all myself, so pardon the typos. :)
Jimmy (Appleton, WI)
Drew, any preseason predictions for your team? Care to go out on a limb?
Drew Carey (2:17 PM)
Playoffs. No doubt. And, we'll score our first goal on Thursday. We're not waiting forever like TFC.
Michael Gray, CA
Drew, when is Qwest Field going to ditch the turf? It's a hinder on the on field performance, and the stuff is injury prone, especially for older players.
Drew Carey (2:19 PM)
I was worried about it too, to be honest, until I found out that the NFL Players' Association voted it the best field to play on in the NFL. It's really not that bad in Seattle. It's not your normal, everyday field turf.

Drew, what was your "wow" moment when you became so committed to soccer - particuarly the men's national team?
Drew Carey (2:20 PM)
Hard to pick one moment. The game we played against Mexico at Azteca Stadium, I guess. Crazy. I never thought I'd see barbed wire fences at a stadium.
Lance (New York, N.Y.)
Thanks for chatting, Mr. Carey. How much has international soccer been involved with your love for the sport? Also, is there any chance you could do something as ambitious as David Beckham in the Galaxy? Perhaps luring a marquee player such as Kaka or Messi?
Drew Carey (2:22 PM)
No problem. International soccer has been a big part of my love for the sport. I love the Men's National Team. I can say that their my favorite sports team. As far as a Beckham... we already have Freddy, so who needs him. :) And, Freddy looks better.

Is soccer your favorite sport?
Drew Carey (2:23 PM)
Yes, absolutely. I would've never thought that, growing up. But I'm sick for it now.
Justin (Minneapolis)
Hi Drew, saw you at the MGM in Vegas with the Improv All-Stars last January-loved the show! Do you think the Browns should have traded Kellen Winslow? Giving a young QB like Quinn a reliable TE seems like a no-brainer.
Drew Carey (2:25 PM)
A lot of things that teams in Cleveland do seem like they should have been no-brainers. That's one of the frustrations and joys of being a fan of any team from Cleveland. If they would only listen to the guys complaining at the coffee counters...

What will it take for more of mainstream US to embrace soccer? I don't feel soccer will surpass football, basketball or baseball in popularity but I don't see why soccer couldn't fall just shy of them.
Drew Carey (2:27 PM)
I think it already is just shy of the big three. As far as the "mainstream" US embracing it... it'll happen when it happens. I'm not worried at all. MLS does very well with the fans we have, and in Seattle we're cleaning up. I think when we're able to keep more of our home-grown stars here (like Clint Dempsey), you'll see us get closer to the tipping point.

More drops: The stock market or Braylon Edwards?
Drew Carey (2:28 PM)
Ha ha. The stock market, of course. :) I don't want ot run into Braylon Edwards one day and have him be mad at me.
Juan S (Los Angeles, CA)
I read your comments saying that you think LA is more of an expansion team that Seattle, can you elaborate on that? Though it was an interesting take.
Drew Carey (2:29 PM)
Well... let's see... It's easier to buy a new car than to fix up one that's been in a major wreck. How's that? :)
Drew Carey (2:31 PM)
Okay guys. I have to go. Sorry. In answer to many of your questions, the Indians will make the playoffs, and LeBron is going nowhere. He's staying in Cleveland. And Freddy should be playing by the 3rd game. God Bless you all. See you on the Price Is Right!
