Tim Graham (2:49 PM)
OK, I'm caught up for the afternoon and ready to go. Nothing wrong with starting early, is there?
Jesse (Pittsburgh, PA)
You always talk so highly of Buffalo. I grew up closer to Buffalo than Pittsburgh and have been there a couple times in my lifetime. It was always a boring city to me. Most people I talk to, who have been there, think the same thing. And by that I mean I would never go there to spend time on purpose. But I digress. Do you think Miami is secretly planning on getting a #1 receiver? They say they are fine, but its obviously an area that needs improved. Maybe they are just saying that to keep attention off the subject for some reason.
Tim Graham (2:50 PM)
You know the old saying "It's a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there." When it comes to Buffalo, it's a great place to live but I wouldn't want to visit there. Buffalo is a great place when you can settle in and embrace it. When you only pass through on occasion and you never get to get a true feel for it, you'll never understand it.
Tim Graham (2:52 PM)
As for Miami's problems at receiver, the only place left for them to address it is in the draft or by pulling off a big trade. The latter depends more on the partner looking to sell. No matter how much you want to buy in a trade situation, so much is out of your control.
Ken Cape Cod
Tim, big fan, If Tony Gonzalez does indeed want to be traded, would the Patriots trade Ben Watson and a mid-round pick for him?
Tim Graham (2:54 PM)
Thanks, Ken. But you have low standards. The Patriots have long wanted a dependable play-making tight end, but they have obtained Chris Baker ... While any team would love to have a Tony Gonzalez, it's not as much of a need for New England anymore. They might want to direct their attention and resources toward other positions such as outside linebacker and offensive line.
Joseph (Ft Worth)
Tim, I am amazingly bored here at work. Lets get started early. Do you think we will see Henne as the starter if the Dolphins stumble out of the gates?
Tim Graham (2:56 PM)
If Pennington doesn't get hurt but the Dolphins fall apart, I would predict Henne taking over around midseason.
HP in PA
What was the scouting report on Cameron Wake coming out of Penn State and how has it changed? His combine numbers look very similiar to Vernon Gholston's.
Tim Graham (2:58 PM)
Cameron Wake was projected as an NFL special teamer coming out of Penn State. Joe Paterno wasn't afraid to call out Wake for a lack of consistency and determination. Wake wasn't even drafted. The Giants signed him but cut him before camp started. Nobody else touched him. That should tell you how little NFL scouts thought of him then.
Steiny (NYC)
What are your thoughts on the Dolphins trading Samson Satele to Oakland?
Tim Graham (3:00 PM)
I was a little surprised. He's young and has started all 32 games of his NFL career. I thought he had value as a depth player or maybe as a guard, a position where the Dolphins struggled to locate depth last year. But the Dolphins obviously were hellbent to unload him.
Andrew (Miami)
What would you think of Jason Taylor as a man if he chose to go to New England? Because I personally would lose all respect for him even after all he's done for the Dolphin's franchise.
Tim Graham (3:03 PM)
If, after all Taylor has done for South Florida and all the millions of dollars he has raised for local charities, you would lose respect for him "as a man" because he would wear another uniform, then you take this way too seriously. He's unemployed right now and has gas left in the tank in a profession with a short shelf life. Are Taylor's only options in your mind to return to the Dolphins or to retire?
Xander (Philly)
Tim, these people just dont know about Chippewa St. During the warm months, its one of the best bar scenes I've ever been to.
Tim Graham (3:04 PM)
It's above average.
Anthony (Haskell, NJ)
What do you think of the chances of the Pats actually getting Peppers? Doesn't seem so likely anymore. And Andrew in Miami needs to relax. JT is at the end of his career and knows how the Pats appeal to vets like him. He knows his days are numbered and that's his best chance of finally getting a ring.
Tim Graham (3:06 PM)
It's tough to read the Peppers situation. Reporters I really trust have presented compelling stories on both sides. On paper, it looks like a tough deal to swing, but players have a tendency to make contract concessions to become a Patriot.
Xander (Philly)
C'mon Tim, what other city/bar scene can you go mingle with pro-athletes? Pretty sure you wont see Tom Brady hanging out with his fans.
Tim Graham (3:06 PM)
Las Olas, the Las Vegas Strip, Sunset Strip.
Tim Graham (3:07 PM)
Bourbon Street
Tim Graham (3:07 PM)
The Warehouse District in Cleveland (not as much fun as The Flats, but still pretty good)
Tim Graham (3:07 PM)
Ybor City
Xander (Philly)
I meant local, home town hero athletes...out to prove something today are we Tim?
Tim Graham (3:09 PM)
You can't walk through the MGM Grand and not run into five sports stars or entertainers. ... As for local athletes, The Warehouse District in Cleveland is rife with them ... and they're higher profile than Andrew Peters.
Erik (Pompton Lakes, NJ)
Tim, how many more wins will the Bills get because they have the power of Geoff Hangartner's beard? Other than him, who has the best beard in the NFL?
Tim Graham (3:10 PM)
I'll open this one up for suggestions from the floor. He's not in the league anymore, but I always was a fan of Sheldon Jackson's beard.
Shawn (oh)
Wow, Tim! Never took you for such a party animal!
Tim Graham (3:10 PM)
Not a party animal as much as I am a barfly.
Dana (Boston)
How laughable is that T.O. is already off to his selfish ways?
Tim Graham (3:11 PM)
I don't think it's a big deal that he's not attending the offseason conditioning program, but he has declared he's not going to any voluntary workouts, and that would include OTAs. That's not good news for a player who needs to learn the offense and his teammates.
Mike (Crystal River Fl)
Have you heard if the Dolphins like either Nicks or Heyward-Bey? And would Parcells actually take a WR in round one?
Tim Graham (3:13 PM)
Parcells would take a receiver, but he better be a damn good one. I'm not sure how they're evaluating those guys. The scouts are pretty tight lipped these days.
D (connecticut)
Jeff saturday had a pretty good beard going for awhile
Jimbo, Brooklyn
First TJ, and now Leon whining about their contracts. How do you see this shaking out for NYJ?
Tim Graham (3:16 PM)
Washington wants a new deal, but he's going about it the right way. He's still showing up at workouts and staying involved. Teams respect that. As for Jones, the Jets aren't concerned yet because it's March. But I see them being less forgiving with him than with Washington.
Isaac (Go Pats)
Kopen, he's got a pretty good beard going. Actually the Pats O-Line usually has big mountain man beards going by the end of the season.
Steiny (NYC)
What kind of impact is Ray Ventrone going to have on the NE team?
Tim Graham (3:17 PM)
He's strictly a special teamer. He's relentless and incredibly tough, but he's a coverage guy.
Andreas, NY
How about Eli's beard... (giggle, giggle)
Tim Graham (3:17 PM)
Mine is almost that good.
Jeremy (San Luis Obispo)
Ramses Barden thinks he will be drafted in the top 45, around what pick do you see the Cal Poly star getting taken at?
Tim Graham (3:19 PM)
I don't see it. He has great size, but his 40 time isn't the best, somewhere in the 4.55-4.6 range.
Jimbo, Brooklyn
I nominate Brett Favre's scruff. I've never been happier to see a beard retire.
john fox charlotte nc
tell bill to give me two first round picks and he can have peppers and i will throw in jake also.
Tim Graham (3:20 PM)
They don't have two first-round picks. They have about 42 second-round picks, but only one first-rounder.
Jeremy (San Luis Obispo)
Around what number do you think he will go?
Tim Graham (3:22 PM)
Too hard to say. I have seen some draft gurus target him as late as the fourth round. Receivers are like artwork, it's all a matter of personal taste. It takes only one team to like him, though, for him to get taken on the first day.
Vinnie (NYC)
The Tom Brady rule.... I just can't accept it. Football is a violent game. Aren't QB's protected enough?
Tim Graham (3:23 PM)
I can see both sides. But when it comes to knees, I'll agree with pretty much any rule to protect them.
Aaron Nebraska
How will Larry Izzo help the Jets Special Teams?
Tim Graham (3:25 PM)
Izzo is on the downside of his career. More than what he can do on the field, Izzo will make his presence felt in terms of character and personality.
Jeremy (San Luis Obispo)
Bill Williamson earlier today said "I think he is a riser. Early second round, perhaps." Just want your report on him is? Thanks
Tim Graham (3:26 PM)
I trust what Bill Williamson says. He has a lot of contacts. But I haven't heard anything about Barden surpassing the other top half-dozen or so receivers.
Jon NH
What are the chances of Laurinaitis fall to the pats in the 2nd round?
Tim Graham (3:27 PM)
Second round might be wishful thinking, but it's possible. Keep in mind if Laurinaitis would have followed through with his plans to turn pro after his junior year, he would have been a top-10 pick. I find it hard to believe he has slipped that far, but many are projecting him going late in the first. It's not a stretch to imagine him slipping a few more spots on top of that.
Shawn (oh)
Is Jeremy obsessed with Barden?
Tim Graham (3:28 PM)
There are literally dozens of Barden questions from Jeremy in my queue right now.
Cate (Buffalo)
Matt Mosley described Dick Jauron as "a man who always seems to be on the verge of passing a kidney stone." What's that about?
Tim Graham (3:31 PM)
I saw that line and it made me laugh. Jauron's expression is always so stern. He always looks miserable. He isn't, of course. I find him to be a nice guy.
Andy (Ann Arbor)
You're Bill B in NE. Who do you want as your rush DE/LB: Peppers or Taylor? I think Peppers is way overrated and randomly wants to play a new position. However, Taylor is only good for another year or 2.
Tim Graham (3:32 PM)
Taylor has more proven coverage skills and will be a lot cheaper. He's also a free agent, so the Patriots won't have to part with draft choices to get him.
Bill (Fairfax, VA)
Your thoughts on extra games in Toronto.
Tim Graham (3:34 PM)
I'm nervous for Bills fans, but as someone who's familiar with Western New York economics, it might be inevitable. With all the talk of the NFL going to a 17- or 18-game schedule, maybe losing another game to Toronto won't hurt as much.
carlos l.
tim, what do you think of kentucky's firing of Bill Gillipsie?
Tim Graham (3:34 PM)
What happened to Joe B. Hall? I don't follow college hoops much.
Steiny (NYC) [via mobile]
High score on brick breaker. 31090.
Tim Graham (3:35 PM)
183,510 ... I had almost as many points as that and 23 lives. But I crashed and burned. Otherwise, I'd still be playing.
JP Losman's Beard
Hello... How could you forget about me?
Tim Graham (3:36 PM)
Easily.
Jason Taylor (somehwere with Bill Parcells
What's that, Bill Belicheck wants me, he can;t possibly handle my 1,2 step? Can he?
Tim Graham (3:37 PM)
Bill Belichick recently was on stage with Jon Bon Jovi. You'll have much to discuss.
Vinnie (NYC)
Who is your "unheard of rookie RB who gets to play because of big injuries and becomes a fantasy stud" next season?
Tim Graham (3:38 PM)
Ah ... You're looking ofr me to name my Samkon Gado Fantasy Football Award ... I give out that award in training camp.
Joe (DC)
Going to the season opener in Foxboro? Who wins and why?
Tim Graham (3:39 PM)
I will be there. I think the Patriots win big because it's in Gillette Stadium, it will be Tom Brady's first game back and the Bills won't have Marshawn Lynch.
Vinnie (NYC)
Axl Rose vs. Vince Neil... who wins?
Tim Graham (3:40 PM)
Great question ... I'll go with Vince Neil. Axl will be too defensive while trying to protect his cheek implants.
Brian (Orlando, FL)
If the Bills know to be successful that they need to keep Trent Edwards healthy, why are they neglecting the offensive line?
Tim Graham (3:42 PM)
I'm wondering why they're so focused on a third running back. Their reasoning (or at least what they're saying publicly) is to keep Lynch and Jackson fresh. I say the best way to keep them fresh is to improve the O-line. But now they're left with the draft.
Zach (Boise, ID)
Tim, what is your all-time favorite video game? Its got to be either Super Mario World 2 for SNES or Tetris
Tim Graham (3:43 PM)
Toss up between Tecmo Bowl, Baseball Stars and NBA Street.
Tim Graham (3:43 PM)
And Mike Tyson's Punch-Out.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Is the Wildcat offensive formation here to stay and if so, does it improve the draft value of Pat White and Derrick Williams?
Tim Graham (3:44 PM)
Yes and yes. The Wildcat has given teams reasons to look at players like Pat White and consider all the possibilities.
Dave (providence)
Tim you strike me as an old school guy, no Pacman or Asteroid?
Tim Graham (3:45 PM)
Neither of those, but if I see Galaga, I have to stop and play it.
Tom
No love for the NBA Jam? What about Blades of Steel the best hockey game ever.
Tim Graham (3:46 PM)
The EA Sports NHL games for PS2 before about 2004 were the best. Great soundtracks, too.
Jason Peters
Tim, enough about video games. Where am I gonna play next year?
Tim Graham (3:47 PM)
Maybe only on a video game if you hold out. Now stop ordering me around.
Matt (North Tonawanda)
You said the Bills "Won't have Lynch" in the opener while answering a prior question. I didn't know that Goodell made a ruling yet....?
Tim Graham (3:47 PM)
He hasn't, but it would go against all logic if Lynch isn't suspended.
Justin(Worcester, MA)
I got here late did u already address the Ramses Barden situation?
Tim Graham (3:48 PM)
(enter rimshot here)
Andy (Ann Arbor)
Vince Neil's wife looks like the leftover parts from Frankenstein.
Tim Graham (3:49 PM)
Then she must look like Vince's sister.
Richard Jauron (Buffalo, NY)
Do I have a pulse? And how do I still have a job in this league? Also how on earth is a playmaker like TO going to fit into my bland, vanilla offense? I prefer keeping in close and kicking field goals obviously!
Tim Graham (3:49 PM)
I think you're going to need to fit your offense into T.O.
Cory: Washington DC
I love ESPN, but I was happy to see their pointless, antagonistic, controvery-starting headlines about T.O missing the Bills voluntary wokrouts ended up being bogus in the end after news came out that he was at an Alzheimer's Gala in Washington DC, where, among other things, he was given an award for promoting awareness. I have said for years that I dont mind criticism of T.O., but what I dont like is poor journalism from people I respect who are better than this. Somehow I doubt ESPN will run a story on T.O.'s work with such an unfortunate and terrible disease.
Tim Graham (3:52 PM)
Sorry, pal. You obviously didn't see the story in USA Today. T.O. didn't skip the start of workouts for the Alzheimer's function. Whoever wrote that for the Associated Press speculated incorrectly. T.O. has since stated he didn't go because he didn't want to ... and he won't go to any workouts unless they're mandatory.
Tim Graham (3:52 PM)
And ESPN.com presented the Alzheimer's story in a prominent place all day Wednesday.
Sean (NYC)
Based on your picture, are you a junior or senior in high school? Was the wildcat a one year fad, or will it continue to be shown more in the NFL especially with Vick coming back?
Tim Graham (3:53 PM)
I am 37, sadly. And that picture is maybe four years old. I wish I could say I looked better than that. But that's a pretty accurate photo.
Tim Graham (3:54 PM)
As for the Wildcat, I think it'll be around for a while.
Geoff Hangartner
If you grew a beard as luxurious as mine, people wouldn't make fun of you in chats.
Tim Graham (3:55 PM)
I know it. I recently went two weeks without shaving and I looked like most men do at 5 p.m.
Thomas (Des Moines, IA)
Tim I feel your Brick Breaker pain. I was up to 439,990 and then I plug it into the charger and it reset on me. It took 4 weeks to get that high and I had 177 lives. I was shooting for a million. Luckily I had a few friends verify the score progress and I still get mad love whenever the BB is brought up around the poker table.
Tim Graham (3:57 PM)
I was thinking world record. I was in a zone and thinking I was on my way to trumping my all-time greatest video game moment of beating Mike Tyson. ... I need to read more books.
Bill (Pomona California)
Where's Ed for the delay of game penalty on Justin?
Tim Graham (3:58 PM)
That's right. Where is Ed? Maybe he's in hiding after the NFL passed those new rules this week.
Jeff (Boston)
I'm really not feeling that great about the new "Brady" rule. I'm a Pats fan and was upset when Brady was inured, but it wasn't a malicious play on the part of the defender. Risk of injury is a part of football, anyone who considers playing professional ly should accept that fact. When I joined the Army I knew there was a risk, and these players should know that too, what are your thoughts?
Tim Graham (3:59 PM)
I agree with you to a certain extent. In fact, if Sammy Morris doesn't keep nailing Bernard Pollard in the back, then Pollard doesn't make the desperate lunge.
Jay Cutler(somewhere near Haiti)
Hey Hey, screw Ed. he can't keep messing up the calls for me!
Tim Graham (4:00 PM)
You're doing a good enough job of messing things up yourself.
Bill (Fairfax, VA)
What does the word recidivist mean? Saw it as your description of Marshawn. I missed that word during my SAT prep 20 years ago.
Tim Graham (4:00 PM)
A repeat offender.
Tim Graham (4:00 PM)
Although it's usually used to describe serious criminals, it's generally just somebody who keeps getting into trouble.
Cate (Buffalo)
Who's your favorite agent: Bus Cook, Eugene Parker or Drew Rosenhaus?
Tim Graham (4:01 PM)
All three are experts at not returning calls.
Jeremy (Easton, Pa)
While we're on Jauron.. an article stated that TO is the most talented player Jauron has ever coached. Do you think this year's roster is the most talented ever under his tutelage?
Tim Graham (4:02 PM)
I'd have to mull that one over for a bit. How many Super Bowl rings are on the roster? One? I can think only of Kawika Mitchell off the top of my head. How many Pro Bowlers? Jason Peters, Marshawn Lynch, Terrell Owens. Am I missing anybody? That's not exactly a star-studded roster.
Garrison ( Louisville, Ky)
Do you think Robert Ayers has the potential to be a big steal?
Tim Graham (4:03 PM)
I'm not going to pretend to know. I can fake it and make it sound like I was holding a stopwatch at his pro day, but I can only go by what I've read, and many scouts think he's rising up the draft board.
John Geneva
Great job always Tim. I was wondering although it may be a reach wouldnt Pettigrew at #11 really round out the receiving threat in Buffalo and bring toughness to the offense with T.O. and him and also give Trent a security blanket?
Tim Graham (4:05 PM)
What scouts like most about Pettigrew is his blocking ability. With so many holes on the O-line, maybe he's the pick, but No. 11 seems too high to me.
Josh (West Salem, OH)
If Miami can shore up their WRs and Secondary do you think they can make a run like they did last year and make it to the playoffs a second time?
Tim Graham (4:08 PM)
The biggest factor will be how well their offensive line holds up. Both guards are coming off of serious injuries. Their new center has a history of injuries.
Travis Henry (on the run)
Mark me down as a recidivist too then.
Tim Graham (4:09 PM)
Check.
Kyle (Boston, MA)
I know this is a tough question to answer, but your sarcasm aside you definitely are an intelligent guy when it comes to the NFL. My question is this, given the current circumstances, fiancial/players/coaching/etc., which team do you see as the perennial top team in this division (AFC East)? Thanks!
Tim Graham (4:11 PM)
You're practically grabbing me by the hand and leading me down the path to get your answer. But do you really need me to type the words "New" and "England" and "Patriots" to feel good about your team? It's obvious enough without needing to ask a ramrod like me to confirm it.
Judge Smails (Bushwood CC)
What harder to handle, the SoFla heat during the summer, or the Buffalo winter?
Tim Graham (4:12 PM)
That's my dilemma. Buffalo winters are gray and bleak. At least with South Florida summers, you can look out the window of your air-conditioned home and see sunshine and palm trees.
Wanda (chasing)
There you are Travis! I want my child support!
Tim Graham (4:13 PM)
Easy, Wanda. He's already gone.
Dan (Miami)
You didnt mention the other things you can see on Miammi beach in the summer (or fall, winter, and spring). I have never been to Buffalo but I can't imagine it can compare.
Tim Graham (4:16 PM)
I don't go outside in the summer here. I don't give a flip what's on the beach. I'm inside somewhere.
John (Columbus, OH)
Where would Revis rank on your list of top 10 corners in the league?
Tim Graham (4:16 PM)
He's in my top six or seven.
Josh (erie, pa)
What about Mckelvin?
Tim Graham (4:18 PM)
Too soon to put him anywhere. I'd like to see him get settled in first. But I do think he can be great.
Dan (Miami)
You dont give a flip about the talent at the local bars?
Tim Graham (4:18 PM)
I'm 37 years old. There's nothing out there I haven't already seen.
J.J. (Boarder of OH and PA)
Rank all the corners in the league please.
Tim Graham (4:19 PM)
I'll get right on that.
brian (de)
A cheerful question for a Friday afternoon... who is the worst team in the division as of right now?
Tim Graham (4:20 PM)
The Bills went 0-6 against the AFC East last year, and the other teams look like they've separated themselves even more through free agency.
Jesse (Boston, MA)
Who would come out on top in an all out brawl between the AFC East head coaches,Dick Juaron, Tony Sparano, Bill Belichick, or Rex Ryan?
Tim Graham (4:21 PM)
Rex Ryan is a big dude. I don't know what kind of shape he's in, but he has a size advantage. Jauron is the oldest, but I think he still fits into his high school graduation suit.
PLEASE ANSWER THIS (char in hoboken)
PLEASE ANSWER THIS ...anquan wants out of AZ..TO knows he wont stay more than one year..Warner is only on board for one more good year..why not trade TO for Boldin straight up and lock up Boldin to a long term contract? is that too much of a dream>?
Tim Graham (4:22 PM)
Yes, it is too much to dream. The Cardinals wouldn't give up a player with that kind of talent for an older receiver on a one-year contract.
mike (miami)
Timmy, forget about beards for a moment, but peep this: we had an era of the Whann-Stash down here. Awful coach, but wow...whatta mustashce.
John (Tampa Bay)
Sparano looks pretty tough. He might be able to take Ryan on.
Tim Graham (4:24 PM)
Ryan's about a foot taller.
Drew (Buffalo)
If we talk about moustaches, we talk about Fred Smerlas.
Vinnie (NYC)
I am hitting a bar before the sweet 16 games tonight for happy hour... what should I sip on?
Tim Graham (4:25 PM)
Double Patron, neat.
Dave (Rochester NY)
Obviously the Dolphins need another pass rusher alongside Joey Porter. Do you see Cameron Wake filling this role or will Parcells look in the draft for one?
Tim Graham (4:27 PM)
The Dolphins hope Wake can translate to 3-4 outside linebacker, but based on the tone of Tony Sparano's words this week at the owners' meetings, it sounded like they want to acquire more pass-rush help in the draft.
Tim Graham's Liver
Double Patron?! You need to simmer down buddy, I'm drowning down here!!!!
Tim Graham (4:28 PM)
You know better than to talk back to me.
Drew (Buffalo)
Double Patron in NYC? That would come to what? $35?
Tim Graham (4:30 PM)
Probably. But most places will charge a more reasonable $10-$12.
Jeff (Las Vegas)
Tim how's your bracket looking?
Tim Graham (4:31 PM)
I haven't looked in a few days, but I went with the chalk, so I think I'm in good shape.
Drew (Buffalo)
Swannie doesn't even have Patron, but if it did, a double would go for about 2.50
Tim Graham (4:33 PM)
That's accurate.
Jason(cali)
Do you really think buffalo is going to do any better with T.O. they still have a lot of holes to fill and alot of the free agents we have signed are just warm bodies and not solutions. I do not think they will improve enough to contend.
Tim Graham (4:34 PM)
The Bills' offense will be more entertaining, but I'm not convinced it will translate into more wins.
Stephen Ross (PB)
I knew you were a Bills fan. That;s 2 comments from Drew in Buffalo. You're finished in the world of sports Timothy.
Tim Graham (4:35 PM)
I'll start updating my resume.
mike (miami)
Timbo, any chance you grow a 'Stash for next weeks chat, an update your pic accordingly?
Tim Graham (4:35 PM)
Nobody wants to see that mess.
brian (de)
Let's keep it negative, who was the worst acquisition this offseason?
Tim Graham (4:38 PM)
I don't think we'll know until the games are played. T.O. could be the best or the worst. Same with somebody like Lito Sheppard.
Atlanta,GA
Yo Tim,any update on Rodney Harrison returning this upcoming season?
Tim Graham (4:39 PM)
It's still up in the air. The word is that Harrison will make his decision based on what the Patriots want. If they'll have him, he'll play. If they choose to pass, then he'll retire.
Jason (Boston)
Tim are mini camp schedules out yet?
Tim Graham (4:39 PM)
They are: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4017080
Vinnie (NYC)
Tim, you must be really bored today... you have been on here for almost 2 hours.... LOSER!
Tim Graham (4:40 PM)
My chats always go for at least two hours. Where have you been?
Steve(GA)
Who do you see having a break-out year this year in the AFC EAST??
Tim Graham (4:41 PM)
A youngster like Leodis McKelvin immediately comes to mind.
tony (Buffalo)
If we were to trade Peters what would we get for him?
Tim Graham (4:44 PM)
Hard to say. Teams know the Bills would love to get rid of him, but the Bills won't trade him for less than full value. That's where gamesmanship and timing comes in. At what pint to the Bills need to part ways to avoid another holdout and what are they willing to settle for? I don't think they know the answers to that yet.
BOLD PREDICTION
Dolphins follow the jets lead and have follow up a great season with a first year coach by dive bombing to last place in the division
Tim Graham (4:45 PM)
Teams that make dramatic improvements in their record from one year to the next historically slide back the following year.
Brian (Orlando, FL)
I hear Paul Kuharsky is out looking for you - he's pissed that you stole his draft chart.
Tim Graham (4:46 PM)
Kuharsky's a punk.
Lee (MN)
I'll admit I don't see much of the Bills, but is J.P. Losman that bad that nobody would have signed him by now? What's the problem?
Tim Graham (4:47 PM)
There are a few serviceable quarterbacks out there. Byron Leftwich and Jeff Garcia are unattached, too.
Jeff (Las Vegas)
NFL blogger throwdown - who wins?
Tim Graham (4:48 PM)
In an eight-man battle royale? I'd have to go with Mike Sando. He's about 7-foot-3.
Drew (Buffalo)
I said earlier, Kuharsky said you were over rated and he can beat you in a race.
Tim Graham (4:49 PM)
If my hamstrings don't snap off, I crush him in the 40.
Drew (Buffalo)
Sando is tall?!?! He looks younger than you in his pic.
Tim Graham (4:50 PM)
What the hell does one have to do with the other?
Jeremy (DAVIE)
alright last chances to get a question in, TIMMY BOY, whos your favorite celebrity with the same name as you?
Tim Graham (4:50 PM)
Graham Nash.
Tim Graham (4:50 PM)
No, wait. Heather Graham.
Jeff (Las Vegas)
You've got to be kidding? He looks 5'9" in his shoulders up picture. When do you get knocked out Timmy?
Tim Graham (4:51 PM)
I'd be a beast for about 15 seconds. And then it's time for a beer.
Rex Ryan (New York)
Who do you think I should go with Clemens or Ratliff?
Tim Graham (4:52 PM)
We don't know enough about Ratliff yet. He looked great in preseason games last year. It'll be fun to cover that competition.
Geoff (Salem)
Admit it, you still get carded ... regularly.
Tim Graham (4:53 PM)
The places where I drink, the bartenders know more about me than my wife does.
mike (miami)
I dunno Timbo, I heard at the ESPN BLOGGING COMBINE, your numbers were top of the class. Maybe your strong Verticle and 40 times will help you win the 8 man death match...
Tim Graham (4:55 PM)
I have zero stamina. My workouts over the past 10 years have consisted of slow-pitch softball.
Jeremy (DAVIE)
Fun to cover a qb competition between Clemens and Ratliff? Id rather be the guy who went back and changed all of Pistol Pete's shots to the modern 3 point line and calculated he averaged over 60 points a game
Tim Graham (4:57 PM)
I foresee a back-and-forth battle where every day we're going to be charting interceptions and great throws in training camp. The quarterbacks themselves aren't high-profile, but the competition should be good.
you love DREW can u atleast answer one of my questions??????????
Should Buffalo trade for Tony Gonzalez or pick up a TE in the draft?
Tim Graham (4:59 PM)
I don't see this as an either-or proposition because I'm not sure they'll have the option to do the former. We know there's nothing left in free agency, so I predict the Bills will draft their next tight end.
Bill (Fairfax, VA)
Who is taller, you or Jim Leonhard?
Tim Graham (5:00 PM)
I'm 6-2.
Paul (DC)
Tim, the Pats have WAY too many picks this year with their three 2nd rounders, and two 3rd. BB has already indicated that trading up, or for future years picks is a likelihood, as there is simply not enough roster space for 10 or 11 draftees to make the team. So, do you think the Pats load up this year, or make moves to add picks in 2010 draft, and how does the potential uncapped year and lockout affect this decision?
Tim Graham (5:02 PM)
To borrow a Belichick-ism: "Whatever's best for the team." I can see the Patriots moving up or spreading their picks into 2010, but adding picks for 2010 seems likely if they don't package a bunch of them for somebody like Julius Peppers. I don't think the uncapped year will impact draft decisions because everything is so hypothetical right now.
Laremy (Seattle, WA)
When is the regular season schedule announced?
Tim Graham (5:03 PM)
Some time in early to mid April.
Matt, Boston
Last year, Joey Porter dominated some games with his pass rush and disappeared in others. Is it fair to attribute this streakiness to his age, or is it more of an indication of the lack of pass rush around him?
Tim Graham (5:04 PM)
Some teams were able to neutralize him because the Dolphins didn't have a pass-rush threat on the other side. That's why finding more pass rushers is such a priority for them heading into 2009.
Jimmy Mac
How in the world do the Oakland Raiders who haven't won more than 5 games in years or the Buffalo Bills perennial 7-9 also rans garner high profile nationally televised games?
Tim Graham (5:05 PM)
They play in one of the largest TV markets in the country.
Tim Graham (5:06 PM)
OK, folks. We're at about the 2:30 mark. I'll stay on for a little bit longer, but then I have to split.
Jake (Miami, FL)
Any chance the Dolphins pick up a veteran WR in Torry Holt or Marvin Harrison? I don't see Parcells drafting a #1 receiver in the draft.
Tim Graham (5:06 PM)
I haven't heard the Dolphins are interested in either of those veterans. They also passed on Laveranues Coles and Terrell Owens. That tells me they're looking at the draft.
Rob C. (Grand Haven, MI)
Come on Tim, there is no way the Pats trade for Peppers. For one, they don't have the cap space. And two, NOBODY, I mean NOBODY will make more than Mr. Brady.
Tim Graham (5:07 PM)
Unless Peppers is willing to restructure his contract for the chance to play in a 3-4 defense for a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
Hubie, Okla City, OK
Thoughts on the Ryan Moats situation?
Tim Graham (5:09 PM)
Distressing. I'm the son of a city police officer, so I know what they go through and generally side with them. But this was a case of someone on a power trip, and people on power trips (whether on a police department or a boardroom) need to be knocked down a couple pegs. I hope the guy gets fired.
gianni buffalo
Do you realize that the bills will go atleast 10-6 with TO, they finally have a threat opposite TO, and have a great third option with josh reed. Defense is always okay too. They need one more backer and they will be a playoff team. What do you think?
Tim Graham (5:10 PM)
First off, 10-6 in the AFC East will be tough for anybody this year because of the schedule. I do agree with your general points, but Terrell Owens isn't going to bring a three-victory improvement from a season in which the Bills played one of the NFL's weakest schedules.
Tim Graham (5:12 PM)
I need to wrap it up. Thanks for stopping by. See you again next Friday!
