Andy's just finishing up a column and will be here to chat at 11:15.

Is Reggie Theus a good fit for Memphis?
Andy Katz (11:17 AM)
I think he is but obviously Bruce Pearl isthe first choice. I do think Theus did remarkable things in a brief tenure at NMSU. But I don't know if he's going to get a shot. He can recruit. He is a solid coach and has the personality to work in Memphis.
john Louisville Kentucky [via mobile]
Do you think calapari will bring any of the top recruits with him? If so which ones?
Andy Katz (11:17 AM)
My prediction is that DeMarcus Cousins is the one that follows him. I'm not sure on the others.
memphistiger: Memphis, tn [via mobile]
I hear we just offered Bruce pearl 7 years 21 million. What do you think the chances of him coming to Memphis are? He is third man on campus behind kiffin and summit
Andy Katz (11:18 AM)
it will be a tough call. it's a lot of cash. Tennessee is higher profile and in a better league. But he can win more games at Memphis and be the No. 1 face of the program. It will be a tough call.
Todd (Sioux Falls, SD)
Andy, The coaching carousel is in full effect....the PAC-10 has become interesting. Who is the front runner for the USC Job?
Andy Katz (11:19 AM)
If he leaves then the first call has to be to Jamie Dixon of Pitt to see if he's interested.
Mike (Albany)
Andy, do you think Siena can keep Fran McCaffery longterm like Gonzaga has with Mark Few?
Andy Katz (11:19 AM)
Yes, unless Notre Dame opens, a job that would be a no-brainer for him.
Colin (Arizona) [via mobile]
What do you think of Arizona hiring Tim Floyd
Andy Katz (11:20 AM)
I wrote about it in my blog today that will be posted up later today. I have questions.
Gina ( Ft. Mitchell, Ky )
Will Billy Gillispie be coaching somewhere next season?
Andy Katz (11:24 AM)
as a head coach, only if there is an opening in Oklahoma and Texas.
Bob (Gainesville, FL) [via mobile]
Hey Andy, Does Nick Calathes end up going pro and if not, does a Calathes/Boynton back court along with Macklin bring the Gators back into the National Title picture?
Andy Katz (11:26 AM)
I'm not sure how high he goes in the draft yet. If he doesn't go in the top 15 then he needs to return and if he does then Florida has a real shot to be an NCAA team next season.
Freddy (Los Angeles) [via mobile]
Will Washington State hire Terry Porter?
Andy Katz (11:26 AM)
I'd be surprised if it's not Ken Bone of Portland State.
Andy (Rochester, NY)
What are the chances that Paul Harris and Devo don't come back for the Orange? I can understand Devo because he is going to graduate this May, but Paul? He wants to be a good father- going oversees to play ball isn't doing that, stay in school and get your degree.
Andy Katz (11:27 AM)
That's what I was told. We'll see. I've seen this before where a Syracuse player may not return and then does. But according to those at SU it is pointing in that direction that they won't be back.
Marc (Malden, MA)
Any Memphis signees that go to Kentucky still have to sit out a year, right?
Andy Katz (11:27 AM)
No. If they are current Memphis players then they would have to sit out, but not signees if they are released from a national letter of intent.
Will J (Portland, OR)
ANdy, I don't think it's right and fair for Tim Floyd to be allowed to take a job within the same conference. At the least they should make him sit out a year.
Andy Katz (11:28 AM)
That's a good point, but the NCAA has no jurisdiction of hiring and firing.
Alec (Burlington, NC) [via mobile]
With all the starters returning is duke one of the favorites to win it all in 2010?
Andy Katz (11:28 AM)
That's a big if. I'll be surprised if Gerald Henderson doesn't declare for the NBA draft. I do think that Kyle Singler will return.
Colt Memphis Tn [via mobile]
If Pearl didn't accept the Memphis job and now with Anderson and Floyd "unavailable" who is a realistic hire Memphis could go after and still excite it's fans with a "wow" hire?
Andy Katz (11:29 AM)
That's what RC Johnson is searching for at this moment. But if Tennessee can't match the offer than Pearl could be gone.
Adam (Charleston, SC)
Any chance Ellington stays for his senior season?
Andy Katz (11:30 AM)
There's always a chance. But if the Tar Heels win the title I'd be shocked if he returned. Ellington isn't as high on the draft board as Lawson but if Lawson and obviously seniors Hansbrough and Green are gone then Ellington may jettison as well.
Robbie (Memphis, TN)
Andy, are you hearing that the offer from Memphis to Pearl is legit? I'm skeptical about trusting the local news station with this kind of news.
Andy Katz (11:31 AM)
I do hear that Pearl is the guy they want. I can't confirm the numbers but I wouldn't be stunned by that figure.
Neil (MA)
Hey Andy, how about some final four action here?!?! What is the probability of the Spartans upsetting UCONN
Andy Katz (11:32 AM)
Probable. The Spartans do have the toughness to beat UConn and can keep the game low scoring. But they've got to make perimeter shots.
memphistiger: Memphis,tn [via mobile]
I think we have a leg up on Tennessee, how could they jystify paying pearl more than kiffin at a football school, I this k pearl comes to memphis
Andy Katz (11:32 AM)
You're right. That may be a reason why he leaves. We'll see.....
Tim (Athens)
Reggie Theus- better actor or coach?
Andy Katz (11:33 AM)
Not even close. Coach.
Derek, AZ [via mobile]
Did Dixon have any interest in the Arizona job? Shouldn't he have been the #1 choice?
Andy Katz (11:33 AM)
He did not. USC could provide some intrigue. Check out the blog today. Thanks for the questions. Have to run to Ford Field.
