Hi folks, gutty performance by Yao last night vs. the Lakers...did that change your opinion of him at all?
Bruce Temple,Tx
Morning guys,i wonder what your topics will be today Hmmm.. first down:Celtics/Magic/Kobe/Lebron Second down: Lakers/Rockets/Lebron/MVP Third Down:Kobe Kobe/Lebron Kobe Fourth Down:Celtics done/Lebron Kobe, and oh by the way did anyone see that boring game between the capitals and penguins? 1hr & 42min devoted to one sport or person will make anyone turn to the "price is right" Just a thought...
Moderator (9:40 AM)
OK Bruce...just for you...we're talking hockey in 2nd down...Sid vs. Alex...sharpen your skates
Cheri
Can U Please Tell My Hubby Brian,Where his Miami Hurricanes are gonna Fair this upcoming season(I figured Espn has a Crystal Ball,2 tell Me Are My Bulldogs or his Canes The More Hopeful Team? Thanks,Best Wishes From Florida:)Cheri
Moderator (9:41 AM)
Cheri...tell Hubby its MAY, talk about something else till, say....AUGUST
Kyle-Northridge, California
With a young pitching staff, are the Dodgers a legit contender to win the World Series this year?
Zach (Indianapolis, IN)
What game was better last night? Magic/Celtics or Capitals/Penguins?
Benjamin New Llano, La
Do you think Kobe should be suspended for his elbow and knee to the head on Shane in Game 1 last night???
Umor (detroit mi)
Yao played the game that LA let him play. Too many jump shots by the lakers in this one,
Nate (San Antonio,TX)
Did you see the dirty play of the Lakers last night?? Sasha grabs and pushes all game long and Battier's face is covered by a mask of blood and no foul?? Seems like the refs are trying to let the Lakers play dirty. If Kobe would have been bleeding they would have called a flagrant 2 and kicked out Artest. No one make excuses about Kobe and his "flu."
James Denver
MJ won when he was sick. Why cant Kobe?
Umor (detroit mi)
Nate you know there are different rules for certain players. We all know that.
Rob (Columbia, SC)
The refs are letting them play playoff basketball. Any bad reputation Artest has, he gave himself. Battier is a good guy who plays hard, no ref is out to get him.
Moderator (9:53 AM)
:25 seconds left in the Celts/Magic game last night, you guys agree with the no-call when Paul Pierce drove the lane and made contact with Dwight Howard?
Nate (San Antonio,TX)
True. Battier recieved the elbow from Sasha I bleieve. In my book Battier is a bigger name than Sasha. Or is it that all Lakers are automatically bigger names??
Will (WV)
Why are hockey fans all fed up in this post season....do they honestly believe hockey deserves more coverage!? Get the VS network and shut up!
Moderator (9:55 AM)
Will, you wake up in the morning angry at hockey fans every day?
Will (WV)
Mod...Pierce was not going to get that call if they did not hit Rondo for all his antics in the previous series!
Rob (Columbia, SC)
Whether you are a hockey fan or not, they have their Kobe vs. Lebron going on right now and they both get a hat trick in the same game. As of a fan of every other sport as I'm sure most of you are, I'm jealous.
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Lakers showed weakness, it's now the Cav's championship to lose!
Wil ( South Philly)
I agree with Will on the hockey stuff but anytime its Sid the Kid vs Alex the Great it should be on national tv
Rene (Mesa, AZ)
I'm not surprised the refs allow Lakers to play that way I have been joking about refs in the Staples Center for years this just confirms it more
Wil ( South Philly)
Will (wv) do you live on here. moderator i need some face time my magic won im feeling good
Moderator (10:03 AM)
no face time, just a post
Wil ( South Philly)
I love Ron Ron but the mohawk has got to go! i have lost all respect
Anthony Indianapolis
I don't think it changes my perception of Yao he is a great player and everybody knows that. However the thing that is most confusing is that I continue to hear people speak about how the team is better without T-Mac. .
Moderator (10:05 AM)
Anthony, I had to cut your post in half...your wrote War and Peace...we only have a couple hours to chat..fair point though
Walker (Cincinnati, OH)
The Yao/Pau matchup is the one that will ultimately decide this series.
Justin (Michigan)
The best center in the game in Yao Ming showed exactly why he's the best center in the NBA last night.
Steve (Medford)
Nice, I'm gonna put my Justin Tuck jersey on right now
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Wish T-Mac was playing but they play better without him. The offense actually moves the ball when McGrady was in he would do the one on one thing too much.
waylon (stephenville, tx)
Will the Rockets depth be enough to keep the Lakers on their heels, or is it gunna be the Artest and Yao show?
Nate (San Antonio,TX)
If the Yao/Pau matchup is going to decide the series going and warm up the engine cause the Lakers are going fishing. Yao can dominate Pau all series long. Yao will shoot a 18 foot jumper and no one comes out on him.
Kerry (Cleveland, O)
Come on Rob, drop the gloves and go across the table..
russ (continental, ohio)
if they had t-mac they might win it all
Chizzie Thornton, Co
The Rockets are 100% better without McGrady. No doubt about it.
Craig(Buffalo,NY)
Will from WV, If you had VS you'd be impressed with the caps-pens game last night. It's not that we want more coverage for hockey, we don't want the first 9 topics to be about Lebron
Moderator (10:09 AM)
hockey in 2nd down Craig...
Kerry (Cleveland, O)
Nate, Agreed, that's why I think the Cavs will prevail against the Lakers, Ilgauskas can shoot the 3 now
Aaron (Denver)
Its more than Yao and Artest, be aware of Aaron Brooks. Fisher just cannot handle his first step and the Laker Bigs are afraid to come off of Yao to help.
L Stewart San Antonio, Texas
As I have been saying all year.....kobe "I, me, kobe" did what he always does and the lakers lost. I will be so happy when the rockets dismiss them and the playoffs can be just fun with Lebron and the rest of the nba playing bball.
Chizzie Thornton, Co
I'm sick of people saying this is the playoffs let them play. Well if it's a foul, in the 1st game of the season, then it's a foul in the playoffs.
Rene (Mesa, AZ)
If the championship depends on Ilgauskas hitting 3's something is dreadfully wrong.
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Skip the 3's weren't important for Orlando? I think the 3's decided the game.
Andy (Akron, OH)
Sid and Alex both have hat tricks. Think about how much talk we would hear if LeBron and Wade were to meet and they both had triple doubles in the same playoff game.
Moderator (10:13 AM)
so are you watching Caps/Pens Game 3 Wednesday?
Patrick (Harmony TN)
skip is right, that was a horrible no call.
Craig(Buffalo,NY)
I saw that moderator and we as a hockey community appreciate it. I just want Will to stop hatin on hockey.
Rene (Mesa, AZ)
I never knew blood wasn't enough evidence to constitute a whistle.
Mike Hill (10:17 AM)
No foul!! This is THE PLAYOFFS!!!!! Defensive player of the year!!!
Kerry (Cleveland, O)
ROB, ROB, ROB... His feet are in the restricted area, It's a FOUL.
Justin (Michigan)
Come on Rob that free throw for Rondo was the highlight of my night. I dont understand how you can be a NBA player and shoot a free throw like that.
Gary Flushing NY
I agree with skip, refs are calling games unconsistently.
Rene (Mesa, AZ)
Don't all NBA fans get a sense of de ja vu when we catch ourselves saying during the playoffs "that was a horrible no-call"?
Patrick (Harmony TN)
does the truth need to take a bow in the head to get a call, come on Rob
Chizzie Thornton, Co
Oh come on Skip its NOT a foul on Howard
Phalo (Bloomington, IN) [via mobile]
The Celtics are going to win this series. The Magic can only win in spite of Stan Van Gundy for so long.
Steven (Philadelphia, PA)
I feel you on that, Mike, but we've seen that call made the other way. It's really hard to say whether that was a good or bad call......guess it depends on if you're a Boston or Orlando fan.
Aaron (Denver)
How long to good 'ol Hank Steinbrenner starts swingin an axe?
Michael (Jackson, MS)
I'm all for toning down the fouls, but that was a BLATANT no call. I don't care who the defender is. Come on Mike Hill! He can't move into him inside the restricted area.
Philip (Tampa, FL USF)
OMG!?!!? Are you crazy, that was totally a foul. He is slapping all over his arm and hands and all that
Chizzie Thornton, Co
Mike, no disrepect, but, what does the playoffs have to do with, wether its a foul or not? If it's a foul, in the regular season, then it's a foul in the playoffs, like I said earlier
Russell ( cazenovia WI)
i just think the refs are missing some calls i was watching the magic celtics game and raffer picked up 2 fouls in the mattter 20 sec i think its sad the refs let rondo and other player just throw people around but howard elbows someone and gets suspended its sad
Stu San Antonio, Texas
i guess crosby will not critize OV again for having fun and celebrating his good play.....go OV do it up boyeeee!!!!!
JULIUS (SPRINGFIELD MA)
YAO MING IS FINALLY READY TO BECOME A TRUE BEAST
Michael Kim (10:24 AM)
Good morning, everyone! Getting ready to do an update -- latest on the Cowboys roof collapse.
Dana Jacobson (10:25 AM)
morning folks, i am dragging today!!! added a new running program to my life had a dog incident with my pooch that had me at the energency vet and then had to watch games. so bear with me!! coffee isn't cutting it sadly...but i'm sure the chat will
Danny (Tonasket, Wa.)
What I hear you all saying is that we want consistency in NBA refing and we are not getting it. Home calls, star calls, calls different at beginning of games than ends, calls different in playoffs than regular season. Refs are going to miss calls the game is too fast, but we want better consistency.
Mike Hill (10:26 AM)
Are you guys kidding? You know players get away with more in the PLAYOFFS!! I'm not saying it's right but that's just the way it is.....still, that would've and should've been a NON CALL in the regular season TOO.
Dana Jacobson (10:26 AM)
danny here's a thought, is it consistent if stars get calls and home teams do too? sorry kind of sarcastic... i hear you on consistency
Denny - Rankin, IL
Not only is Howard still moving because he's not yet outside the semi-circle but his arms are NOT straight up in the air. They are reaching forward enough that Pierce should have gotten the call horizontally OR vertically.
Chizzie Thornton, Co
Good morning Micheal Kim. How come the Cowboys don't get a regular, indoor, practice facility? It's not like they don't have the money
Aaron (Denver)
Celtics are getting a good a heavy dose of KARMA. They bloodied a mouth, Stiched up an eye and lauchned someone into a scorer's table. All this without a single ejection.
Patrick (Harmony TN)
Yao was great last night, I think the Lakers are a little shaken up right now, I love the Rockets chances.
Dana Jacobson (10:27 AM)
Chizzie, i know you asked michael..this was something a bunch of us were talking about. Not sure. Id think a permanent building could be better regulated etc. I haven't read anything on it either. Lots of teams have bubbles though, just built differently. like miami is a real bubble like a tennis bubble, no steel beams
Denny - Rankin, IL
Oh, what happened to your dog Dana?
Mike Hill (10:28 AM)
Craig...not that I have to defend my man, Michael Kim but BELIEVE ME...if the roof of ANY nfl team collapses and there are injuries, like in Dallas, it would get reported.
Chizzie Thornton, Co
Caps look like they're on a mission. I've been a Caps fan since Rod Langway was the on the team. It wouldn't surprise me to see them win the Cup.
Dana Jacobson (10:29 AM)
Denny i'm glad you asked. Its the 2nd time in 3 weeks that she's had a fight with what I thought at first was a cat, last night vet said could be raccoon. first time nose and face all scratched and bloodied, this time face, nose, ear. she's lucky no punctures...and they didn't want to sedate her to sticth her up...but she's on antibiotics again, had to get shaved up a little to clean the wounds. now i need to call critter control!!!!
Aaron (Denver)
Thank God Ankiel is ok (and I'm a cub fan). He is too good a story to have it end like that.
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
Sorry to hear about the pup, Dana. We own two and I can imagine how tough your night was. Hope he/she is OK.
Michael Kim (10:29 AM)
Chizzie... That is the very same question I asked when I heard initial reports of the roof collapse. With its proximity to Tornado Alley, I would have guessed they had a permanent structure.
Dana Jacobson (10:29 AM)
Johnny she's fine. It was just a long night but thanks!! Back to the sports talk, thanks for letting me vent
Patrick (Harmony TN)
sorry to hear about your dog Dana, that was a horrible no call, but what was worse was that airball freethrow that missed rim by about 5 feet, that made me hang my head
Mike Hill (10:30 AM)
David in Charlotte...."thanks"!! LOL My ex wife feels the same way.
Tom (River North)
Dana, are you going to be able to stay up to watch the Red Wings tonight? It's going to be a late night!
Rinde (Cleveland)
The Magic stunk in that game. They had a 28 point lead and instead of putting their foot down on the Celtics, They went back to their dumb ways and chucked up 8 straight 3's and missed all of them allowing a tired Celts team to get back in the game. Where the heck was SVG to tell them clowns to take the ball to the hole???
Dana Jacobson (10:30 AM)
Tom, are you kidding? of course
Terry - Indianapolis, IN
I watched 4th down yesterday and it was the first time I agreed with Skip, When he said that Floyd Mayweather had no shot against the Pac-Man
Michael Kim (10:30 AM)
Andy in Akron... Excellent comment on the hat tricks vs triple-doubles. Yes, we would be going crazy.
Danny (Tonasket, Wa.)
Dana, that was my whole point, we don't want star calls, home calls, etc., we want the game called as consistent as we can knowing that the game is so fast that the refs are going to miss some.
Will (WV)
Caps in 6
Dana Jacobson (10:31 AM)
Danny I just wonder if with people making the calls, if you'll ever get that. strike calls, fouls, it's always an issue. i think it gets more attention b/c of the playoff level of ball
Mike Hill (10:31 AM)
Look...one play...non call or not...didn't determine that game anyway....Boston was tired....down 28 and having to try and come back after an epic series is tough.
Michael Kim (10:32 AM)
Will in WV... Caps in 6? If Malkin doesn't get his act going, they may call it off after Game 3 if the Caps win again.
Stu San Antonio, Texas
come on mike you must be trying to get ur cinco de mayo party on too early and just want the lakers to get through the tough games. NON CALL are u serious, come on now, that is a call in little league, europe, playground, everywhere "YA HEARD ME"
Will (WV)
There is no way Skip is going to flip the channel from NBA playoffs to NHL playoffs....no chance!
Mike Hill (10:32 AM)
Craig...I'll watch it just get that 20...I need the money....No, I've actually been checking it out, BELIEVE IT OR NOT!
Mike Hill (10:34 AM)
Ron in Miami....thanks..that's nice but my man Jay DESERVES his time off....I love filling in though when the great host of this show aren't here.
Moderator (10:43 AM)
Stu...I always party, baby....cinco de mayo or not.....come have one with me, my dude. LOL
Dana Jacobson (10:43 AM)
sorry guys computer issues here in studio and can't post or read, hope you can see this
Dana Jacobson (10:43 AM)
folks major computer issues here we apologize back with you when we can
Aaron (Denver)
Dana, what you need is Freddie Roach to show your dog the left hand/paw Manny put on Hatton...I bet it takes care of the Racoon.
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Dana, I think it's time to show that raccoon your shotgun formation.
Dana Jacobson (10:45 AM)
thanks for the laughs on chewy...they wouldn't let me read em on air but very creative and funny
Phalo (Bloomington, IN) [via mobile]
Skip, eventually an athlete's talent is so great it surpasses your personal biases against them. Let's give LeBron credit where its due.
Aaron (Denver)
Merriman looks like he stopped hitting the weightroom this offseason...my God!
Dana Jacobson (10:45 AM)
we appear to be back up and running sorry guys no one could post or read here
DaShogun: Coastal, Tx.
Now that the Rockets have you Guys Speechless can the Team get a little more credit than you Guys have given them. What about Rockets in 5? Magic in 5 over the Cavs?
justin(ohio)
The Rockets beat the Lakers in LA..Im a lil shocked but they're not goin to win the series..Kobes goin to be on fire next game..you can bet that
Dana Jacobson (10:46 AM)
DaShogun, Rockets win was impressive but its one game. skip said it remember sixers and bulls both won game one in the first round and aren't playing. i am a huge adelman fan and yao is finally playing tough but i dont think they'll knock off the lakers
Rajesh (Atlanta)
When I think of Ron Artest and Shane Battier, they kind of represent the exact guys who a competitive team would want to add to their roster to get them over the hump and win a championship. I think at some point one of those guys will be on a championship team. Its scary that they are playing together right now. I haven't written LA off by any means, but last night Houston was great.
Dana Jacobson (10:47 AM)
Rajesh, remember when no one wanted artest?????
Chizzie Thornton, Co
Dana if you could only attend, one, league championship game. Which one would it be..ie Super Bowl, World Series, NBA Final, Stanley Cup, or Daytona 500
Zach(The Lou)
So how's abouts it taking eight years for Albert Pujols to be recognized as the best baseball player in the majors, and maybe of all time?
Steve (Lanham MD)
I'll take playoff hockey over anything else that's on in May or June. It's the best postseason -- where they play "best-of-x" series -- in sports.
Dana Jacobson (10:49 AM)
chizzie, done stanley cup which is awesome, done world series...i think super bowl. there's something about one game, that's it. i love the nfl and have never gotten to the actual game. see the job isn't always all its cracked up to be!!!!
Nate (San Antonio,TX)
OK DJ I read your post and respect you but I do believe the Rockets can take out the Lakers. The two best defenders in the series(league) are guarding Kobe; Artest and Battier.
Dana Jacobson (10:50 AM)
Nate, i think guys on the lakers have the ability to step it up and the rockets will have to pay more attention tothem. its not the days of shaq and kobe but i still say LA. I like it to go 6 or 7 but still LA
Kerry (Cleveland, O)
For the record, I wanted Artest in Cleveland forever. Give me a guy that can ball like that and doesn't need the spotlight...
Dana Jacobson (10:51 AM)
Kerry, I think you were one of the few. I remember the sac trade and everyone was in disbelief. I hope he keeps it up, he's turned things around and its good to see
Danny (Tonasket, Wa.)
Dana, They didn't want Artest because of his actions, not because of his playing ability. Took a long time to live down his foray into the stands.
Dana Jacobson (10:51 AM)
Danny, exactly. He'd warn out his welcome..he was always one of hte leagues best defenders. you know its bad when people still dont want you.
James Denver
Whats with all this talk Yao is playing tough lik a beast. Hes 7 foot 6 and only got 10 rebounds and he didnt block a single shot. You guys diss Howards Offensive game but nobody mentions Yaos lack of rebounding and shot blocking. Hes 7 foot 6 he should be able to rebound and block shots in his sleep.
Nate (San Antonio,TX)
No one may have wanted Artest DJ but that was a character issue not a player issue. He has turned around his character by dumping 6 people from his posse.
Dana Jacobson (10:52 AM)
nate exactly...but how many guys don't do it when they should. see pacman
Paul (West Palm Beach Fl.)
Hey Dana when is Woody going to be on. I have been looking for him everyday.
Dana Jacobson (10:53 AM)
paul midmonth
Christopher (H TOWN, BIG T)
What does Skippy have to say bout Yao being better than Howard, NOW have you seen Howard dominate in the late part of the game in the playoffs YET??? heck no, but i've been watching Yao just DOMINATE his opponet(sp??), he looks unstoppable! I've always doubted his "greatness" ability, but this year i think he just got it to click, i woke up and found the ROCKETS beat the LAKERS??? Houston is readdy for CLUTCH CITY BABBBABBBYYYYYY!!!!
Phil (Dekalb, IL)
Does defense really matter in the NBA? You never hear anything about an entire team that is great defensively. You hear that a team has one player who is a good defender, but no one has an entire team of great defenders. It seems like it depends more on rebounding, and getting those rebounds to your scorer or scorers.
Tom (River North)
I would take playoff hockey over everything else. There were multiple times during the Wings game on Sunday where my friends asked if I had stopped breathing.
Ryan (Maine)
That was Houstons Best Game!! They cant play any better then that, and the Lakers looked real bad!!! Lakers in 6!
Jay ( Philly )
I struckout 23 batters back in my t-ball days, you don't see any tv cameras around me.
Christopher (H TOWN,BIG T)
John Denver, are you actually John Denver, or are you John from Denver???
Dana Jacobson (10:55 AM)
christopher good question
Aaron (Denver)
James, Yao may not block a lot of shots but he alters a ton. Kobe missed at least 3-4 shots in or just out of the paint with Yao's hand obviously causing a double clutch.
Umor (detroit mi)
All the playoffs are to long. hockey and basketball need to be best of 5 1st round series again.
Lance (New York, N.Y.)
Zack Greinke has done fantastic. A 6-0 record with a .40 ERA through one month has been sublime. Maybe there is something to this whole "year of Kansas City" after all.
Paul(West Palm Beach Fl.)
Zach I think it was hard to call albert Pujols the best player in baseball a few years ago when there was a player named Barry Bonds doing what he was doing.
Moderator (10:58 AM)
hey, who offered Mike 20 bills to watch hockey? You just got a shout out on the show
DaShogun: Coastal, Tx.
No love for the Rockets on the East or West Coast Shows, thats cool. No Lakers No Cavs in the Finals. The Two teams will not reach the big dance do the play of their benches. Rockets in 6 over Magic.
Michael Kim (10:59 AM)
Jay in Philly... How do you strikeout 23 in a T-Ball game?
Mike Hill (10:59 AM)
GGGGGGGG-men!!!
Tom (River North)
Hockey hasn't been best of 5 (at least since I started watching 20 years ago), but there are more upsets in the first round of hockey than there are in the NBA. The NBA is so predictable. Over the last 20 years, only 7 different teams have won the title.
Christopher (H TOWN, BIG T)
Phil, the Celtics were a great defensive team last year,it wasn't JUST KG, he made his whole team better, also the Rockets are a solid defensive team, maybe not GREAT but a very solid d.
Kerry (Cleveland, O)
Aaron, have to agree with that statement. In High School, I was a 6'6" center. We played a guy who was 7'2". He blocked my first shot of the game (22 seconds in). I didn't shoot again...
Chizzie Thornton, Co
Micheal Kim. Whats your take on the "non call" in the Magic/Celtics game?
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
I don't think the seven game series in the NHL is a bad thing since they aren't taking ridiculously long amounts of time off between games. The NBA, on the other hand, is so TV driven that we get seven games played over 2 1/2 weeks.
Michael Kim (11:00 AM)
Chizzie... There's a reason it's called a "non-call". Enough said.
Craig(Buffalo,NY)
I beleive justin tuck, but who is Eli going to throw it to?
Chizzie Thornton, Co
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA @ The Giants being the team to beat. Oh PLEASE
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Of course the Giants are the team to beat... they should have repeated last year but we all know what happened
Moderator (11:01 AM)
Chizzie..don't sleep on the Giants....still finished with the best record in the nfc last season.....osi will be back...expect big things out of Nix....Eli will shine...it'll be tough in the east but they'll get it done.
Kerry (Cleveland, O)
DaShogun... What are you talking about? No Love? Everyone has been talking about Houston for 2 weeks on this chat. Don't want to play the Cavs huh?
Pat (Denver)
Rockets def wont beat the lakers they played them well last night but the lakers arent just going to roll over and if they do get past the lake show the Nuggs will take them out
David52 (Nevada)
The lack of interest in hockey is it's own fault. When the NHL had it's ill fated lockout, hockey died in America. The games are not regularly aired on TV, attendance has struggled, and I don't see the Ovechkin/Crosby rivaly saving it.
Mike Hill (11:03 AM)
oh..sorry...that msg to Chizzie was from me. Also, when will Pau Gasol wake up and play some ball?
Mike Hill (11:03 AM)
Larry.....Kobe can lead the league in scoring every year if he wanted to but it's not best for his team.
RJ (Boston)
NHL should not begin until November 1. ANd the Stanley Cup should be deceided by Mid May. MUCH-MUCH-MUCH too long a season. Cut the first two rounds of the playoffs to 5-game series, or cut down on the number of teams who get in. I like hockey more than any other sport, but keeping up for 9 months of it? Too much. I have a life of my own.
Admin (11:04 AM)
Chris...good looking...can I come live with you...I'm still sleeping in the guest room with one eye open....LOL...just kidding...she's cool...as long as those checks keep coming in.
John (Staten Island NY)
Do the royals have a chance to be this years Rays?
Mike (11:05 AM)
Craig ESPN Plaza Bristol, CT 06010 LOL!
Joe E. (Calumet City, Illinois)
What is T-Mac's future with the Rockets IF they somehow beat the odds and take down the Lakers? Im my opinion, he did everything possible to keep the team afloat last year when Yao went down, and is being railroaded now that his season is over and Ron-Ron is in town.
Paul(West Palm Beach Fl.)
Justin Tuck has it hard with his wifes family being Eagle fans. Eagle fans are diehard.
Tom (River North)
I disagree with going to a five game round for the NHL, but there should definitely be fewer games. And they should contract Tampa Bay, Florida, Atlanta, and Phoenix.
Dave (Utah)
Moderator, put down the spiked Kool-aid, the Eagles are gonna be the team to beat in the NFC East. New offensive weapons, a massive new tackle, and a great draft.
Henry(Connecticut)
The Giants have the best o-line. They are the toughest in the business. The defense is going to be monster when Osi gets back. The also just got 2 big receivers...and Brandon Jacobs...who will stop them?
dominic (jacksonville, il)
Skip, like you've said many times, the NBA is a man's league compared to NCAA basketball. Players are allowed to make contact. Howard was straight up and had just as much right to that area as Pierce. Pierce made the contact, because he was too tired to make a play so he tried to get bailed out by the officials. I don't care at what point in the game this play took place, that was not a foul.
Steven (Philadelphia, PA)
NHL Commish Gary Bettman definitely dropped the ball (or the puck...*LOL*) when he let the NHL leave ESPN for Versus, a network that no one can find. Can you imagine how much play a series with Ovechkin & Crosby involved would get with a REAL network covering it?
Michael Kim (11:07 AM)
John, the Royals do have a chance but it loses some of its luster if it happens two straight years and, let's face it, part of the non-East Cost appeal was that the Rays had a better season than the Yankees and Red Sox.
Aaron (Denver)
RJ, the owners need to sell tickets. The money generated from the NHL TV deals make the longer season a necessity to make payroll!
Paul(West Palm Beach Fl.)
On paper the EAGLES are the team to beat in the NFC.
Michael Kim (11:07 AM)
Paul... I agree.
Edwin (Turks and Caicos)
I will go out now and say shawn merriman will be defensive player of the year he is a beast go chargers
Mike Hill (11:08 AM)
Osi will be HUGE for the Giants next season....
Joe Ero (Calumet City, Illinois)
What is T-Mac's future with the Rockets IF they somehow beat the odds and take down the Lakers? Im my opinion, he did everything possible to keep the team afloat last year when Yao went down, and is being railroaded now that his season is over and Ron-Ron is in town.
Michael Kim (11:09 AM)
Edwin... Are sitting poolside in Turks and Caicos while chatting?
Paul(West Palm Beach Fl.)
Bellichick is licking his chops at the idea of Meriman and LT being let go next year.
RJ (Boston)
Contract Atlanta? Yes. It's the second time a franchise has failed there. Contract Phoenix? Why? It's not the fans fault... they still show up there. Tampa has done fine as well.
Dana Jacobson (11:09 AM)
Joe, how's he being railroaded? They are winning without him and he didn't leave in the best way, remember media knowing he was done for the year b/f team. I like tmac but not sure that he handled that the best way he could have
Steven (Philadelphia, PA)
As a football, I do have respect for Merriman as a player. As a RAIDERS fan, we wanna make sure that he does NO dancing in Oakland week 1
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
I find it interesting that RJ from Boston calls the NHL season too long yet the NBA season starts and ends around the same time.
Paul(West Palm Beach Fl.)
I am amazed that the Chargers are thinking about giving up on Meriman and Tomlinson. It shows you the NFL is a what have you done for me lately league.
Brian Iowa City, IA
Hey Rob and Skip, do you only watch sports if the "stars" perform well? I would still enjoy the game without Alex and Sidney scoring a hat-trick.
Dave (Utah)
Brian from Iowa, that is crazy talk! No one would be watching hockey right now if Alex and Sidney weren't pulling the fans in. ESPN wouldn't give hockey more then the scores streaming across the "ticker"
Dana Jacobson (11:15 AM)
real hockey fans would
Steve (Medford)
The Eagles are a great team, but they're getting old. They still have yet to prove they can win without Westbrook. The Giants are just getting younger, this is their chance to prove they can win without Plaxico
waylon (stephenville, tx)
Skip, get off your horse. jordan and kobe had excellent teams. lebron is the man how can you deny hi greatness
James Denver
Calm down T Mac haters you all loved him last season when Yao got hurt and he took the Rockets to the Playoffs all by him self. I heard the same things about Yao last season when Rockets went on longest winning streak in NBA history were they better with out Yao then?
Aaron Salinas, Ca [via mobile]
This is exactly what the Lakers need a punch in the mouth, to let them know this is the PLAYOFFS! WIN OR GO HOME
Michael Kim (11:17 AM)
Steve, that's why LeSean McCoy is there.
Mike Hill (11:17 AM)
This is fun....love your comments...even when you rip me....hit me up on facebook or twitter.
Chris (Cleveland, OH)
LeBron James is the man...I don't think he'll ever be better than Jordan, but Skip is crazy to think LeBron isn't the face of the league.
Dave (Utah)
Dana, you know it's true. Outside of major hockey markets, no one would be watching. Being from the "D" you look at it different then a fan from Texas for example. Everyone is being sucked back in thanks to the "Rock Star v. Movie Star" Clash.
Chris (Lakeland Florida)
Completely agree with Skip. Six is still more than zero, right? Stop with the constant argument that Mike had a supporting cast and LeBron doesn't. Pippen didn't do anything w/o Jordan, the role of the superstar is to make your teammates better and WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS! People didn't start to really, seriously talk about Tiger being the best ever until he was on pace to overtake Jack. Zero, is not a pace....
Rome (Washington D.C )
And if Yao keep playing like he is and if the support of the rest of the Rockets keep up. The lakers will lose....
James (Nashville,Tn.)
No Skip, I don't think anyone who has good sense is even comparing Lebron to Michael, at least at this point. But I agree with Lebron himself, there will never be another MJ.
Jason (Ocean City, MD)
It's too soon!
Dana Jacobson (11:19 AM)
dave, that's what i meant, real hockey fans would. i dont think the casual fan would no...and i dont think many will now sadly either
Michael (Jackson, MS)
I hope Skip is wrong about SportsNation having Lebron over Jordan. Lebron is awesome, but I don't know a single basketball fan who thinks he is currently or ever will be better than Jordan.
Michael Kim (11:19 AM)
Chris, I was lucky enough to see MJ play in person several times. But it won't be long before we'll be trying to convince kids that Jordan was great -- like our parents' generation was telling us about Oscar Robertson, etc.
mr.snapps (los angeles)
if lebron isn't the face of the nba then who is???????????
John (Staten Island NY)
I watch the Cavs just to see LeBron...actually i only watch LeBron and Kobe...being a Knicks fan there isnt much else to watch
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
If LeBron saved Skip's life using mouth-to-mouth, Skip would complain that it took LeBron too long to get it right.
Dana Jacobson (11:21 AM)
Johnny, possibly
Ryan (Ohio)
Chris, Jordan had Pippen who was good, Kerr who could drain 3's like it was his job, and Oh yea How about the best rebounder of all time Rodman. Your crazy to say he didn't have a supporting cast. Not taking anything away from Jordan
Rinde (Cleveland)
Dana, hockey is about as fun to watch as a dart tournament.
Dana Jacobson (11:22 AM)
Rinde, sorry you feel that way. you're missing out! go to a game in person ever? its awesome
Chris (Lakeland Florida)
Michael, I was unlucky enough to see MJ play in person as well....as a Knicks fan. John Starks is still trying to figure out where the hell he went.
Non-basketball fan (everywhere)
Lebron is better than Jordan
Christopher (H TOWN, BIG T)
chris in lakeland, pippen did win a mvp w/out jordan.....
Matt (NM)
I too got to see Jordan in person a couple of times, Lebron is awesome and the current face of the NBA, but Jordan is in a league all of his own..his shear will and determination, legendary!
Jessie ( West Chester )
No matter how you spin it LaBron is a monster of a different breed. I'm a LaBron hater in every sence of the word. But this dude will not be denied the 09 NBA championship... Even a hater knows when to say when!
Patrick (Utleyville, Pa)
Lebron can become better than jordan with multiple rings. He does not need 6 in my eyes, but if he plays at this level and wins 3 or 4 he will have to be considered one of the greatest ever due to how he consistently fills the stat column night in and night out.
RJ (Boston)
3 things: Most of the NHL is losing money on TV and ticket sales in October. I'm not a basketball fan at all, which is why I did not equate that season to the NHL season. Rick Ankiel should be every fan's hero by now. All the things he keeps fighting through to get on the field, and the way he plays the game... he's amazing.
Edwin (Turks & Caicos Islands)
No I am actually skipping work to watch you guys so it would be nice if you guys give me a shout out lol and please tell skip i like him but he needs to stop haten on Lebron and tell that other guys please don't wear that suit again
Dana Jacobson (11:24 AM)
RJ, that was unreal last night
Denny - Rankin, IL
What an insult to darts. :)
Patrick (Harmony TN)
mike you're the man, you have my dream job, we gotta tease you guys a little bit.
Dana Jacobson (11:24 AM)
Denny , don't be hating!
Chris (Milwaukee)
mvp dosen't mean nothing w/out the championship
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Ok my comments are getting posted anymore it was real first take I'm out
Moderator (11:24 AM)
when Adam shows up tomorrow, someone tell him his 'out' got posted
Aaron (Denver)
Honestly stop comparing to MJ...it will only hurt Lebron. MJ is this centuries Babe Ruth...he is a mythical figure our great grandchildren will tell folk tales about years down the road.
Dana Jacobson (11:25 AM)
chris, i know what you're saying but kg won an mvp b/f the title didn't he? and AI won an mvp didn't he or am I wrong? I could be...thought he did. I agree the rings the thing but an mvp can be a step to a title
James Denver
Dana I tried to get into hockey being from Denver we lost the original NHL Rockies when I was to young to remember then we got the Avalanche and it was great. I loved the Colorado Red Wing series and really started following NHL but then the lock out happened. Colorado hasnt been able to figure out salery cap and they suck. Lockout was just bad timeing for me personally now I dont even watch at all.
Joe E. (Calumet City, Illinois)
For those born after the Jordan era, and have yet to watch old films of Jordan at his best (myself included), it's somewhat hard not to see LeBron as the best player in the NBA, even over Jordan.
Dana Jacobson (11:25 AM)
James, good point that skip made too...you need a winning team to cheer for quite often.
Tyler (Beloit, WI)
I haven't heard anyone point out the fact that Aaron Brooks took Derek Fisher to school last night. I'm not calling out Phil Jackson but it is obvious that he must play Brown or Farmar more. They're younger quicker guards who have a better chance to keep Brooks in front of them.
Matt B (Peekskill, NY)
I think the Jordan generation is scared of having their dude removed from the Number one spot, but as time moves on, a player gets judged by his numbers and historical context. Is Russell better than MJ because he had 11 championships? Is Wilt because of hes 30 and 20 career averages? Lebron is playing now, and Jordan cant prove hes better by playing him now. So lets stop bashing peoples opinions, cause you cant know.
Paul(West Palm Beach Fl.)
I don't know how Steve can call the Eagles old. They just took about 15 years off the Offesive line, have a rookie rb, wr, and te, and a 2nd year wr. The D is also very young in fact if anything the Eagles big question mark is how young they are.
Rashad (Salem,NJ)
Can you please tell Skip to get a grip. He hated LeBron so much that he says stupid stuff. It was LeBron's year to win the MVP. But of course Skip Bayless would find some reason to disagree. There have been many MVPs who didn't win a champioonship so to me that is not a good enough excuse. Charles Barkely and Karl Malone both won MVPs in years where Jordan's Bulls won it all. Allen Iverson also put up his MVP year but fell short. It takes nothing away from the season those guys had, so the same rules should apply for LeBron( And he still has a chance to actually win the championship)
Dana Jacobson (11:27 AM)
Rashad, I think you missed his point. I did at first too. He's giving him credit for mvps. He's just saying an mvp isn't a coronation...a title does that. Skips saying win the title then i'll crown you
Kevin (Tacoma, WA) [via mobile]
Not able to watch the show right now, but has there been anything yet about the best pitcher in baseball- Kansas City's Zack Greinke? Unstoppable!
Dana Jacobson (11:27 AM)
Kevin we've got Trey Hillman, royals manager coming up in a little bit, maybe like 1145
Matt (NM)
Go watch Jordan from the pistons series in 90. Then go watch the Pistons series in 91. Thats all I have to say.....
Aaron Ca [via mobile]
Kobe and the boys are going 2 destroy Rocket game 2. Phil will start ODOM and and he will go for 20 and 20!
Koop (Atlanta)
MVP award means nothing. It's a lifetime acheviement award and it was Lebron's turn.
Phil (Dekalb, IL)
Well Dana, the MVP is also a step for him to feel like he needs to put on a variety show. Win a few MVPs, then a few championships, then pose for pictures.
Dana Jacobson (11:28 AM)
Phil, why can't these guys have fun while they're playing the game? I have no problem with his pre game stuff. shows comradery - which is key to winning a title
Dee (Tampa, FL)
See you guys are not putting Lebron on MJ level because he's not won championship which does matter. But you see this guy game after game, he always gives 150% & point blank every team in the NBA wants a Lebron on there team. If he keeps improving his shots especially from 3pt range, he'll go down as one of the best might even pass MJ.
Chris (Cleveland, OH)
I'm glad you feel that way Jessie...Cavs are the 09 Champs!!! Moderator, can non-basketball fan be banned for spewing blasphemy?
Moderator (11:29 AM)
no Chris, free speech and all that
Dave (Utah)
Aaron Ca, gotta be kidding me....ODOM? Hahaha!
rashad (compton, ca)
Lovely Dana, you mentioned hakeem nicks when talking to j tuck not to long ago, im a die hard giants fan since 86, i can tell you now that our 3rd round pick this year (Ramses Barden from cal poly) will be the next great receiver in giants history, he's 6'6, 220, fast and has great hands, i guarantee he has double digit TD's this year. and tuck was right, we are the team to beat
Steve (Lanham, Md)
Pippen never won an MVP -- season or finals
Scooby The Gambler (NJ)
how did you not see old films of jordan
Tylis: (Jonesboro, Ar)
People is crazy for crowning LeBron now. I agree with Skip, he havent won anything yet. He has to prove his self before he can be called the king. I'm shocked that I'm agreeing with Skip.
Moderator (11:32 AM)
Yao has had some good one liners in the Rockets post game pressers lately, who's the funniest center in the NBA? lot of competition...
Cobie0814(Dallas,TX)
Dana, does Skip not like the LeBrons, T.O.'s and other premier athletes bc those were the types that picked him last to play while he was growing up?
Steve (Lanham, Md)
Pippen did win the 1994 All Star Game MVP though, I stand corrected, my bad
Denny - Rankin, IL
The point of any sport is to win. Bill Russell won 11 championships in 13 seasons and any criticism for being on a great team has to also take into account how much of his offensive game he sacrificed.
Edwin (Turks & Caicos)
We in the Turks and Caicos are big basketball fans as you know trevor Ariza's family is from here and we have lots of people with basketball names and i have been trying to convince my girlfriend to name our Daughter Kobene lol in honor of my favorite player Kobe and i know that will be hard her being a big celtics fan
Pat (Denver)
Shaq is probably the funniest (maybe goofy is better) center in the NBA, but D Howard is wicked charismatic and can you tell he likes to joke around and goof off
Dave (Utah)
Moderator, hands down Shaq aka Shaqtus aka Big Aristotle aka Diesel aka Whatever Else He Calls Himself, haha.
Christopher (H TOWN, BIG T)
Steve, pippen did too, go look it up, i know he did.
Rinde (Cleveland)
That's a no brainer Mod... Shaq is the funniest center for comparing SVG's career to his flop
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
Funniest center is anyone whose played for the Knicks since Ewing. Oh wait, did you mean off of the court?
Kevin (Houston)
Why isn't this getting more run the blatent mugging Kobe put on battier last night in the first qtr. Kobe needs to be suspended for his actions.
Ryan (Ohio)
haha nice cobie
Mychal (Vancouver WA)
Brandon Roy will be Next years MVP!!
John (Staten Island NY)
Ya Shaq is the funniest no matter how disrespectful the rap on kobe was...it was pretty funny
Pete, NJ
When judging a player you cant just look at number of titles, but we all know MJ's 6 titles were all because of his dominance. They are clearly different then Horry's 6 for example.
Mychal (Vancouver WA)
Just want to say that i love the show and you guys help make my day better every time I watch... Even Skip,. So thank you to everyone at First Take
Matt (NM)
Since LeBron acccepted the MVP award @ his HS, hes a fool if he leaves Cleveland now!
Paul(West Palm Beach Fl.)
Lebron is no MJ but I do put him with Dr. J. or Kobe as one of the greats.
Rajesh (Atlanta)
That looked like a Rodman move when Kobe was tied up with Battier trying to get up.
Ryan (Ohio)
pippen only has the 94 all star mvp but 2 gold medals
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Lebron is very discipline at this young age and all the money, he is the ultimate role model, that emphasizes team over me. There's no I in team.
Christopher (H TOWN, BIG T)
Edwin, Kobe was named after the steak, so maybe you don't need the Kobene, maybe just name her Kobe, my last name is carr and my dad wanted to name me Race.... lets just say my mom didn't have that
Danny (Tonasket, Wa.)
Dee, great point. I'm not a real LeBron fan but how many titles did Oscar Robertson win before he was considered the best guard in the league. None. He didn't win his title until he was paired with Kareem at the twighlight of his career, but he was still considered the best guard at the time he was in his prime as I recall.
Danny (Tonasket, Wa.)
Denny, I am old enough to remember Russell playing. I am sorry, he didn't sacrifice anything. He didn't pass up shots, when he had them he took them, when he saw an open teammate, he passed. He played the game that suited his abilities. I don't call that sacrificing, I call that smart basketball.
Steve (Lanham, Md)
Here's the list -- no Pippen: http://www.nba.com/history/awards_mvp.html
Phil (Dekalb, IL)
Where were all these antics 3, 4, 5, 6 years ago? He just decided to show camaraderie this year? Why this year when his is the savior of the NBA, the MVP, the favorite for the title? Are we and sports journalists crowning LeBron as king? Or has LeBron chosen to do that himself.
Paul(West Palm Beach Fl.)
I wish Wilt had the chance to play in this day and age with the internet and espn.If he did we may be talking about him not MJ as the best ever
Dana Jacobson (11:40 AM)
Phil, started with the bulls introdcuctions in the jordan era and has grown. Personal experience the kings used to do a soccer dance/huddle chant b/f playoff games. It depends what gets publicized..if lebron weren't doing this it wouldnt get as much pub. And some im sure have crowned him king..not everyone. Just b/c you dont find fault in his pregame routine doesn't mean you've crowned him
Aaron (Denver)
How is Lebron going back to high school cool? If I accepted a work award back at my high school, I would be an absolute tool...
Dana Jacobson (11:41 AM)
Aaron, b/c he's an nba star. No offense.
Elijah (Denver)
How come Skip never makes a post. Is he too old school to use a computer.
rashad (compton, ca)
why is everyone comparing lebron to MJ? if anything he should be compared to (magic) judging by the numbers he's putting up, i cant remember seeing jordan get a triple double EVER! If there is a comparison to MJ then its #24, same swag, same game, same numbers. at 24 years of age kobe was the best player in the game and still is
John (Staten Island NY)
WOAH WHAT A STACHE
Dana Jacobson (11:42 AM)
Elijah - skip preps for downs in between them so he's not able to chat during hte show
Denny - Rankin, IL
Pete, that is a terrible comparison. Bill Russell won 5 MVP awards as well as being a 12 time all-star, winning 2 consecutive NCAA titles, an Olympic gold medal, sensing a pattern yet?
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Phil... King James... you don't get it?
Dana Jacobson (11:42 AM)
I believe it was a nike/nba given name..and espn may have even been a part i don't remember. Its about selling a product which the nba does very well as does nike. we all love knicknames.
Danny (Tonasket, Wa.)
Pete, great point. Horry, good roleplayer, helped teams win championships no doubt, but one of best of all time no way. Karl Malone, no championships in his prime, but still one of best power forwards ever.
Chris (Lakeland Florida)
I couldn't care less what these guys do in pre-game intros. It comes down to titles for me. Much like the Marino/Roethlisberger discussion a few weeks back.
Zach Pittsburgh PA
enough about lebron, great player lets see if he can lead his team to that gold trophy this year, then ill be a witness. but i just dont like the fact that they completely threw d-wade out the picture just because the heat lost in the 1st round!
Dave (Utah)
The media has fed Lebron's ego. The media has placed him on upon his throne (ESPN Commercial), and so he has to act this way. But to give him his props, the kid is amazing, and we all have to remember, he is still only a kid. He is going to accumulate staggering numbers by the time he is done in the league.
Rajesh (Atlanta)
With all the clouds in baseball, I am so happy that their is no longer a dominance of any single team. Its finally cool knowing that new teams are emerging and the level of play is so much more balanced than in years past.
Matt (NM)
Ok this Greinke kid, his plate command and pitching ability was awesome in the highlights I watched....it was his plate and the batter was not going to do anything about it....
Craig(Buffalo,NY)
Zach Greinke is last years Cliff Lee.
Michael Kim (11:44 AM)
Chris in Lakeland... LOL - Sorry. Yeah, a lot of good players never got a ring because of Mike. Ewing, Barkley, Malone, Stockton....
Dana Jacobson (11:45 AM)
Dave, fed his ego or just taken the hype up a notch? I'm not saying media's innocent, i never say that. But its never just the media...
Phil (Dekalb, IL)
That was a good point. I guess that I could just be fed up with everything LeBron since that seems to be the dominant force this entire season. Makes it seem like something is destined.
RJ (Boston)
D-Wade does get much too-little respect. I was seeing that last summer in the Olympics too. I thought he was the best all around player on the court, every night.
Jessie ( West Chester Pa.)
Chris in Cleveland ya might wanna read my old comment again before you derail your train in public! I was giving Lebron props even though I don't like him!!!
Dana Jacobson (11:45 AM)
Phil, its ok...i go through phases, trust me!!!
Aaron (Denver)
Dana, apparently my sarcasm did not read properly.
Dana Jacobson (11:46 AM)
aaron, sorry! i usually catch sarcasm...b/c i'm usually dishing it out
Scott (Colorado Springs)
I guess it just isn't my day for post, but I am sure I will get one now. Have a great day.
Moderator (11:46 AM)
don't let this post hit you on the way out the door, Scott
Patrick (Harmony TN)
I love Donald Faison, he is a funny funny man, "chocolate bear" i love when he helped punk zach braff, apparenly they are best friends in real life.
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Michael Kim Kobe the best player? Lebron most dominant?
Aaron (Denver)
Michael Kim good point for Jordan...D Wade already has his ring. Jordan refused to let his contemporaries get one.
Kerry (Cleveland, O)
There is NO WAY LeBron is leaving Cleveland. That palace he's built he isn't moving anytime soon. Why would he leave that Mansion 9 months a year?
Sean Smith (Michigan)
Dose adding larry foote make the lions draft loook better
Dana Jacobson (11:49 AM)
Sean, if they add him it will help the team, not the draft
James (Nashville, Tn)
I not only do not have a problem with their pregame, I think its fun. People seem to forget thats its a game, ENJOY YOURSELF!
Paul(West Palm Beach Fl.)
But the truth is Donald made the Movie Remember the Titans a great movie
Charles (Medford, Or)
I have seen fasons game in the celebrity games.. Its terrible
Koop (GA)
All I gotta say is that if Lebron leaves Cleveland, it means he does NOT want a title.
Michael Kim (11:50 AM)
Adam... I might have to go Kobe on both fronts -- but I'm not having any problems with LeBron as MVP this season. He deserves it. But when Kobe wants to take over a game, he can and he does.
Christopher (H TOWN, BIG T)
Kerry, he'd buy a NEW mansion, in NEW YORK WHERE HE WILL BE PLAYING AFTER 2010!!!!
RJ (Boston)
So, is Carmelo the best bet for "the new Karl Malone" ie, best of his generation to never get a ring?
Rajesh (Atlanta)
I hope nobody thinks Shaq is the funniest center in the NBA.
Moderator (11:51 AM)
most chatters think Shaq is the funniest, hands down, Rajesh
Brett(Columbus)
yeah kerry...it's called the Hamptons...ever heard of it?
Ron Genius (Fremont,Ca)
why do teams in late game shoot jumpers, instead of taking in to the rack? Every year we see this.
Pete, NJ
Shaq's free throw shooting has always made me laugh.
Tristan Pierce (Palm Bay, FL)
SHaq is the funniest. . . hes been doing it for way longer than yao or Dwight
James Denver
Ok new stupidest comment ever award winner Brandon Roy next years MVP the Blazers flew under the radar this season and being in same division as Denver and Utah theyll be lucky to make the Playoffs next sseason and Roy has zero perspnality.
Paul(West Palm Beach Fl.)
Denver is trying and has done good at building a team to contend so Melo may get a ring sooner then you think RJ.
Aaron (Denver)
MK, I agree. Kobe can dominate in 3 phases Lebron has 2. Defense, taking it to the rack, and the perimeter jump shot (lebron fails here).
Steve (Ohio)
LeBron might be able to buy the Hamptons
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Thanks Michael Kim I agree. Kobe=Jordan, Lebron=Magic, Who's the new Bird though Carmelo?
Dave (Philly)
Shaq thinks he's funny. He's not funny. Dwight cracks me up with his antics, but Yao lately . . . he's had the clever funny quips. That accent too . . .
Kerry (Cleveland, O)
Brett, It's in Bath and nothing in the Hamptons has it's own Bowling Alley, Barber Shop, Club (Complete with Lighting) and Sport's Bar. I have seen it being built, it is INCREDIBLE.
cornell (los angeles)
yao is becoming a Shaq, with humor..
Will (WV)
Yao is innocently funny! Shaq is a performer with a funny side! Howard is just a clown and we love a good guy!
rashad (compton, ca)
shaq is the only player in the league i would pay money for to see a comedy show
Samm (texas)
What does zero personality have to do with winning the MVP James? This ain't the WWF. If Roy does his talking on the court he'll be in contention for it whether he talks or not.
Jay ( Philly )
Hey Mod! Sammy D in Philly has to be the funniest center in the NBA, he requested a trade and they couldn't pay another team to take him! ( Fact )
Tristan Pierce (Palm Bay, FL)
allen iverson top 5 in jerseys and baby names lol
Danny (Tonasket, Wa.)
Rob, Puhleezze, Straw????? Parents, please think about how the name is going to perceived on the playground and school. Straw is almost as bad as Blanket. Shout out to South Park fans
RJ (Boston)
Kerry from Cleveland has obviously never been to the Hamptons... never been to Framingham CT for that matter (Tyson/50cent mansion).
Moderator (12:01 PM)
that would be Farmington, Ct RJ
Tristan Pierce (Palm Bay, FL)
Was Rob serious? if so its good he didn't have a boy
Steven (Philadelphia, PA)
Jay, word on the street is the Sixers are planning on paying Sammy to leave.......*LOL*
Scott (Colorado Springs)
Thanks Mod.
Aaron (Denver)
Toughest thing for Brandon Roy to overcome getting the MVP will be the ascension of Aldridge to all-star status.
James ( Avalon )
My dog is named Tyson. He punctured my earlobe the day I got him(7 weeks). It was a no brainer!
Jonathan (ATL)
Dana, you really worked over Rob and his attire for the day! Bet he won't ever wear that outfit again!
Brett(Columbus)
Aaron - I don't know about that...think about LeBron this year...he got Mo Williams who became all star status and that's when he won his MVP. Maybe that's just what Roy needs to get his team recognized...and therefore himself recognized
Moderator (12:04 PM)
jonathan, he knows im just giving him the business
Dana Jacobson (12:06 PM)
