DJ Gallo (4:02 PM)
Hello, SportsNation. Beautiful weather in your land today. What do you say we take advantage of it by staying inside and chatting on the Internet?
Zumar (San Diego)
What team will be lucky enough to win the Draft Lottery tonight?
DJ Gallo (4:03 PM)
Well, Blake Griffin is a talented big man. And Tim Duncan is starting to get up there in age. So I guess it's time for the Spurs to win the lottery again.
Chuck OKC
What are the odds the draft lottery is rigged this year, like when NY was able to get Patrick Ewing? ie: Blake Griffin to the Thunder.
DJ Gallo (4:06 PM)
I think something related to the NBA always has a high probability of being rigged. I just don't know if a team in Oklahoma getting the best player really fits with that. It's more likely OKC somehow gets stuck with Patrick Ewing, Jr. in a trade.
Zach: Scranton, PA
Hypothetically speaking of course, if Sidney Crosby was a fruit, what type of fruit would he be?
DJ Gallo (4:06 PM)
Star fruit./penguinsfan'd
Scott, St John, New Brunswick Canada
Is it possible that Scott Walker is more upopular than Roger Clemens in Boston now?
DJ Gallo (4:08 PM)
Maybe among real Bruins fans. And maybe also for a 24-hour period among the Boston bandwagoners. But most of them have gone back to forgetting that the Bruins exist.
Josh, Atlanta
Do you think JJ Redick reads his poems to Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu before big games to get them fired up?
DJ Gallo (4:10 PM)
Game 7.It's like heaven.Listen to my claims. We gon' bring it to LeBron James.
Mike (Ames, IA)
DJ, with Rajon Rondo out of the playoffs now, what other alliterative sports stars can we root for?
DJ Gallo (4:11 PM)
Alliterative? Why would you want to root for a player who doesn't read well?
Cameron Cox (Greenwich)
Are any of the Penn St. Seniors like Stanley Pringle and Jamelle Cornley even in consideration for the pro draft?
DJ Gallo (4:12 PM)
I did some research on Stanley Pringle at the library today and let's just say I was not impressed.
Mark Cuban (Dallas, TX)
I would like to take this opportunity to personally apologize to Kenyon Martin's mom in person.
Mark Cuban (Twitter)
DJ Gallo is a PUNK!
DJ Gallo (4:14 PM)
This reminds me, in Mark Cuban's defense, he did also mention his blog posting "apology" on his Twitter page. So he didn't apologize in two ways. Take THAT, Kenyon Martin.
Billy, NYC
Deej, do you think that Capps is the most ironic a name can be for a Pirates closer or can they do better?
DJ Gallo (4:15 PM)
Matt Capps will have to do until the Pirates bring up Greg Blownsave in September.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Mark Cuban just proved that you can't have Twitter without a Twit.
Paul Madden (Chicago)
Are you on Twitter yet? I want to be your follower.
DJ Gallo (4:16 PM)
Yes. http://www.twitter.com/thatdjgallo. The Kool-Aid vats are being prepared.
Chris (Phoenix)
Deej,Moral question here: Would you take the wonderlic test if you knew that you were as stupid as Vince Young, but you were still going to be stupidly rich after you were drafted....again, despite your stupidity?
DJ Gallo (4:17 PM)
I'm confused by your question.
JB (Fredericton, Canada)
Couldn't you say you still write for the Onion since most of your articles and headlines from your site end up there a day later anyway?
DJ Gallo (4:19 PM)
Look, JB -- I'm happy that you're my attorney. But time posting questions in my chats does not count as billable hours.
Ben (Charlotte)
I soon will be unemployed and I don't want to go to law school. Can I work for you?
DJ Gallo (4:19 PM)
Yes. If JB keeps overcharging me.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
How many hobos have already become your twitter pals?
DJ Gallo (4:21 PM)
ESPN researcher extraordinaire Adam Reisinger alerted me to this site: www.hobo.com. Just ... amazing. Apparently box cars now have wifi.
Matt (Indianapolis, IN)
DJ what NFL team will be the bravest to put a flyer out on Mike Vick and his talent?
DJ Gallo (4:22 PM)
I don't know if "brave" is really the word for a player who never was all that good in the NFL. I'll go with "stupid." And then I'll go Raiders.
Urban Meyer
DJ, you're either for us or against us
DJ Gallo (4:23 PM)
Okay, okay. I will make sure to always carry my Gator Nation ID card in my jorts pockets.
Jeff M (Albany, NY)
Which Pittsburgh sports mascot wins in a fight: Iceburgh or Steely McBeam?
DJ Gallo (4:25 PM)
You're forgetting the Pirate Parrot. That poor bird is filled with rage over what it has been forced to witness that past 17 years. I wouldn't mess with him.
Manny (L.A)
I am carrying your child, DJ.
Andrew Brown: (Hoboken, NJ)
How successful will Kyle Orton be in Denver considering his tolerance will be lowered due to the altitude?
DJ Gallo (4:27 PM)
Ouch. You know, from what I've read, Orton won't be a problem in Denver. Because he is a mature veteran. And also because Jay Cutler drank all of the alcohol in Denver.
Trevor (Los Angeles, CA)
With the Ravens eliminated from the playoffs for about 4 months now, is there any reason Joe Flacco is still growing out his playoff eyebrow?
DJ Gallo (4:30 PM)
Oooh! A Joe Flacco unibrow joke in late May. A welcome addition. But, yes, Flacco's unibrow is quite dense now. It's spring. Things are in bloom. New shoots of brow hair are everywhere. What we saw during football season was the dead season.
Preston (North carolina)
Micheal Vick was at one point the highest paid player in the NFL how can anyone say that a Atheletic 29 yr old QB cant be an asset on an NFL team
DJ Gallo (4:30 PM)
So you're salary = production? Why are you posting under an alias, Dan Snyder?
Chris (Phoenix)
Deej,Can you break down James Harrison's stance of the White House visit? He's got me stumped.
DJ Gallo (4:32 PM)
No. I will not. If somebody else was doing a SportsNation chat, you'd be asking them that question. That's the way I see it.
Jay (PA)
Did you know that an article in Today's NY Post about Mark Sanchez being a sex symbol is actually titled "Flirty Sanchez"?
DJ Gallo (4:33 PM)
Wow. A new low for the NY Post. Just pathetic. And I think I will spread the word about the Post's poor taste by sending that headline to everyone I know.
Jemaine (Blacksburg, VA)
Michael Vick has comparable stats to Eli Manning. I'm not sure if I'm supporting or insulting Mr. Vick.
DJ Gallo (4:34 PM)
Another fact: For years Eli Manning ran a stuffed animal fighting ring.
Grammar Police
Okay Gallo, pull it over. It should be "your" and not "you're." Here's your ticket.
Sean (Philly)
Someone named Tim Tebow one of the 25 fittest people on the planet...still say he doesn't make it in the NFL. Running QB's let alone white running QB's don't make it.
DJ Gallo (4:36 PM)
Top 25 is pretty good. But he was also named one of the Top 10 fittest moyels by "Circumcisions Illustrated."
Eli, N.Y.
Those Care Bears were tougher than they looked.
Matt (Virginia)
Gotta a Farve Question. How much Wranglers could a Wrangler Man wrangle, if a Wrangler Man could wrangle Wranglers?
Bill (Baton Rouge, LA)
Bengals on this season's HBO Hard Knocks. Are we looking at a rating of M for Mature? Or just skipping to NC-17?
DJ Gallo (4:38 PM)
Marvin Lewis always talks about how he doesn't want distractions on the Bengals. Then he okays HBO brining cameras to film a team with Chad Johnson on it. How does he still have a job? Oh, right. Because Bengals ownership doesn't care.
Kent (MS)
Are you upset you didn't dish out more Gruden jokes before he became a part of the company you work for? Will he like every quarterback that enters every game he announces?
DJ Gallo (4:40 PM)
Jon Gruden is a great man, a great coach and a fantastic announcer. And I wish my favorite team carried seven quarterbacks.
Joe (LA)
But the Bengals brought in high character guy in Tank Johnson and drafted Andre Smith. Oh wait.....
DJ Gallo (4:41 PM)
Andre Smith has high character, low bosoms.
Matt (Texas)
The Bengals are easily the best choice for HBO Hard Knocks. What would be the worst choice? Patriots? Bucs?
DJ Gallo (4:43 PM)
Definitely Patriots. Bill Belichick would bar the cameras from every practice and not let his players talk to anyone.
Cosmo (Anytown, USA)
There you go, Mets fans. You just got your summer back. Although it was much more fun to watch your season implode in September.
DJ Gallo (4:44 PM)
The Mets should come with a black box recorder.
Jordan (Peoria)
Wouldnt Bill send the cameras to other teams practices and walk throughs?
DJ Gallo (4:46 PM)
Now that I think about it ... BILL BELICHICK IS RUNNING HBO!!!! "Hard Knocks" is just a front for his surveillance program.
Jack Bauer (dying..?)
You look like Tony Almeida's twin brother:http://tvdramas.about.com/od/24/ig/-24--Season-Seven-Photos/-24--Season-7---Carlos.htm
DJ Gallo (4:48 PM)
I have never seen 24. Does he die at the end due to an injury sustained while headbutting a fashion designer? Kind of a sad end for a supposed superhero.
Brad(NM)
Cause obviously the Patriots need to know what the Bengals plays are and cheat to beat them
DJ Gallo (4:50 PM)
This is just to throw us off the scent. As was the year with the Chiefs. And the year with the Cowboys. And ... well, maybe right now Belichick is just testing out the program.
Ray (NJ)
The NY JETS are trying to increase my season ticket prices from 5,200 to 24,000 per year (not including the seat fees). Let me repeat that, the NY JETS are trying to increase my season ticket prices from 5,200 to 24,000 per year (not including the seat fees). Way to reward the fans huh?
DJ Gallo (4:51 PM)
BUT HAVE YOU SEEN HOW DREAMY MARK SANCHEZ IS?!?!
bmax (baltimore)
what the chance that nfl goes without a salary cap after 2010
DJ Gallo (4:52 PM)
Slim. That would kill the league. Although it would be funny to see Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder put together $300 million teams that go 6-10.
Eric (PA)
So apparently A-Rod is now dating Kate Hudson. Pretty good upgrade, wouldn't you say?
DJ Gallo (4:53 PM)
I don't know. Have you considered that Kate Hudson will one day look like Goldie Hawn?
Tom (DC)
$24,000?????????? That better come with your own cheerleader or something!!!!
DJ Gallo (4:55 PM)
No. But Jets fans are allowed to continue to harass all female fans who walk through the Gate D area, no questions asked.
Gary, Burlington, VT
I'm no fan of Manny being Manny but why is all the attention focused just on Manny? Everyone benefited but only the player is to blame? It seems like a calculated plan to shift the focus from ownership, management, writers and the fans. All of these share the responsibility. It is easy to root against Manny but shouldn't there be a little more attention to others responsible for the whole PED culture?
DJ Gallo (4:57 PM)
Gary, that is a very well though out question. I'm not sure the fans are really to blame, though. The chick fans maybe, what with their digging of the long ball.
Barbaro (horse heaven)
Do you miss me?
DJ Gallo (4:58 PM)
I never thought I could love a horse again. But then a certain lady horse came along. And, well ... I've started seeing other horses again, Barbaro. No disrespect to you and what we had. But I have to live my life. I'm still young.
Jon (Boulder, CO)
WWE vs. Kroenke and Pepsi Center. Who wins?
DJ Gallo (4:59 PM)
This is not nearly as entertaining -- or manly -- as Yanni vs. Pittsburgh's Mellon Arena.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Has blaming the *economic situation* lessened the heat that has been put on you for being 42 and living in your mom's basement?
DJ Gallo (5:01 PM)
42? Ouch. That's a zip-up jacket, not a leisure suit.
Zac (IN)
What's for dinner tonight Gallo?
DJ Gallo (5:01 PM)
I don't know. Let me ask my mom.
Jack (Chicago)
DJ, any idea where the defensive indifference rule came from? Were so many bases being stolen late in meaningless situations that this rule was deemed necessary to maintain the integrity of all stolen base records?
DJ Gallo (5:03 PM)
I suppose so. But I think this needs to be applied to other parts of life. "Bob, did you finish those spreadsheets?" "No. I called accountant indifference." "Oh. Okay. No problem."
DJ Gallo (5:05 PM)
Okay. My time is up. Enjoy tonight's playoff action. If my math is correct, tonight is one of the night's the Lakers are scheduled to try. So that should be cool.
