Good morning, everyone... Nuggets had their chances -- gotta hit their FTs!
renardo bass Norfolk, Virginia [via mobile]
What team do you think should take a chance with Michael Vick.
chris yorrick New york [via mobile]
What happened the Nuggets were up the whole game but still the lakers go on to take what happened?
Michael Kim (9:49 AM)
Kobe is what happened... The best closer in the NBA.
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
A rarity last night, Michael. We had an NBA playoff game that was actually watchable. Unfortunately due to the start time, most of the East Coast was in bed before it ended.
Michael Kim (9:49 AM)
Thrilla to the end! Tough to stay up -- I had to DVR it and watched the 4th qtr early this morning
Michael Kim (9:56 AM)
About Michael Vick's future NFL home... Herm Edwards has a really good team that I agree would be a good fit
wright boi ga [via mobile]
they need a better system for nba lottery in stead of the lotto balls just go by there rank in o/d
James Denver
I knew the NBA wanted a Cavs Lakers Finals but I didnt think the Nuggets would start getting robbed in game 1.
James Denver
Carmelo was putting on a show outplaying Bryant then with 3 minutes to play the refes remembered it was Denver playing in L.A. and gave Kobe 10 free throws. Kobe fouls out Nene on terrible call. Trevor Arizza fouls Chauncey on a bad Anthony Carter pass. Kobe outscores Melo by a point 40 to 39 and L.A. steals a game at home. What a suprise!
Michael Kim (9:56 AM)
James, Denver can't miss 12 FTs and complain about not having chances
Charles DTown Ohio
Good Monring Michael I think Kobe really took it to heart what Mr.West said yesterday. Michael was never ready to pass the mantle down, Magic was never really ready to pass to MJ and now Kobe will be 40 and still feeling he is top dog in the league. Lol
Tim Anderson/ Washington, DC [via mobile]
Kobe vs Lebron? Why is that even a question? We all know who the better "player" is! Kobe indeed is a great shooter, and has poise in the 4th quarter; Lebron on the other hand makes everyone around him better, he plays defense, can post up, drive, assist, run the point gaurd position, and lastly something kobe can't do...gaurd "Melo" and other big men down in the post. I want a complete player on my team, and that is not Kobe!
Moderator (9:57 AM)
The Kobe vs. Lebron debate continues in 1st Down today
et chicago,il [via mobile]
Why would george karl have anthony johnson inbounding the ball when he has all those bigs?
Michael Kim (9:57 AM)
Charles, I think Jerry West knew exactly what he was saying and what the reax would be
Jeremy (New Orleans, LA)
SuperBowl in New Orleans again makes me smile :)
James Denver
Micheal Kim how is Kobe the best closer in the game? He didnt make a field goal to win it the refs bailed Kobe L.A. out and called rediculous fouls down the stretch.
Moderator (9:58 AM)
et chicago....we'll debate whether the Nuggets lost or the Lakers won in 1st down as well...I got your vote
Jeremy (New Orleans, LA)
gee I wonder who skip is going to say is better Kobe or LeBron? (hint of sarcasm)
James Denver
If Denver makes free throws stops L.A. from getting offensive rebounds tgey win easily. Last nights game just proved to me Denver can win at Staples at some point in this series. Lakets wont be able to win a game in Denver.
Moderator (10:02 AM)
James is getting a lot of play today...lets let him vent...
Michael Kim (10:03 AM)
Gotta hit those FTs
Joe DelBene New york [via mobile]
Tonights game one of the cavs and magic series. What do u think is the most important factor for the magic to have a chance to win this series?
Jeremy (New Orleans, LA)
Hands down Nuggets blew that game but they will win the series. Lakers have no answer for Mello
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
The Nuggets definitely lost that game. There were plenty of chances for them to win but they made bone-headed plays down the stretch. The Lakers are VERY lucky! I don't think the Nuggets will make those mistakes again and take game 2.
Selena (Louisiana)
Good Morning. The Nuggets was leading most of the game and played good defense until the end, so they had a chance but couldn't close. Lakers won.
tex carthage ms [via mobile]
is james in denver blind?
Lance (New York, N.Y.)
I will answer the question I know will be on First and Ten. The Lakers did win this AND Denver did lose this. Denver had 11 more free throws but only shot 66% and that's unacceptable. On the other hand, the Lakers DOMINATED the offensive rebounds 17-7. Seeing as how it was a two-point game, both credit and blame must be given.
Moderator (10:04 AM)
c'mon Lance...take a stand one way or the other...no waffling
Cornell from Florida [via mobile]
The game last night was about determination and will and Kobe has shown time again he is the best player in the game. I feel the refs did terrible jobs on both ends and what bout billups stepping out of bounds. Get ready for a physical series
James Denver
Thanks I appreciate it sorry for all the anger but come on that was a screw job.
Rick (NY) [via mobile]
Yea no joke, toss him a brew, maybe he'll calm down
nick steertaborp [via mobile]
King James is like a new box of callaway warbirds, kobe is like an old dirty pinnical you find in the woods looking for one of your warbirds.
Moderator (10:05 AM)
where'd that analogy come from, nick?
Lance (New York, N.Y.)
How about Carmelo Anthony being the best player on the court in game one? I can't believe he scored 39 points with 20 shots. It's disgraceful that Denver wasted that by getting pounded on offensive rebounds and missing free throws.
torrey huoma, la
lakers should have lost this game i believe the nuggets will win the series they just have more heart then the lskers the only person with heart on the lakers is kobe if not for a rare fisher siteing the lakers would have lost i see this going the nuggets way.
azusa,california [via mobile]
Why does everybody keep douting the lakers? when clearly were the TEAM of 2009. labrons cavs, and howards magic can't match up with the lakers and 4 the nuggets there done if that's the best they got cause even with a week off they still look like they ran there self out of the game and the lakers with very little rest and prep. Came back to pull it off.
Robbie hawkins columbus ohio [via mobile]
Why is it every one says kobe doesnt play defense if i remember right kobe has seven al NBA first team defense selections . . . Lebron has one! Three mins to go games on the line i'm taking kobe hands down. L.A. Didnt get favored or the calls someone got away with stepping out of bounds and look at the foul ratio for the game.
dave det, MI [via mobile]
I don't understand whythere are so many kobe haters. of course he can't guard bigs, just like bron can't guard small guard. ehy the hate mike?
Jeff (Ohio)
Who else is on the 2 Live Stu's? It's going to be a Kobe lovefest. Hopefully Jay is hosting 1st and 10 to give it some semblance of a debate.
Moderator (10:07 AM)
Michael Kim hosting 1st and Ten with Jackie McMullen and Skip...nice change o' pace
kevin: Warren,Pa
Wade is the best closer not Kobe
James Denver
If Carmelo Anthony gets the same exact calls down the stretch Kobe got Denver wins. If George Karl has JR Smith inbounds instead of A.C. Denver wins.
Adam G. Tampa, FL
JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE!!!
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
Lance, no way the Lakers "won" this game. With 12 missed FT, a bone-headed foul by Martin and Carter coughing it up at the end, this game was the Nuggets to lose not the Lakers to win.
Dana Jacobson (10:08 AM)
morning folks! sorry little craziness this am, so i'm a little late getting on
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
Whoaaaa, Jackie Mac on 1st & 10! Watch out Skip!
Augie (Cheshire, CT)
I think that Jackie MacMullan is giving Skip a serious run for his money today. She was completely right about the Nuggets folding. George Karl teams never get it done.
byron ohio [via mobile]
Don't you feel Michael Vick would make a good brown? The Ravens have Ray Lewis, the Steelers have Santonio Holmes, and nothing needs said about the Bengals. Why not complete the division of convicts!
Dana Jacobson (10:09 AM)
byron - we've got herm edwards on later talking about possible teams. he did not say browns - and he brought up the importance of the coach relationship with players in where vick goes- mangini not the guy who's going to be able to help vick in this process. but stay tuned for the teams
FRANK LA [via mobile]
I feel sorry for people that think kobe gets bailed out. You need to watch the whole game on kobe and see all the calls he doesn't get and just keeps playing like a true champion.
Rome(Detroit) [via mobile]
Hey, James... Denver lost from there own mistakes. Ariza didn't foul Billups either. But I guess you didn't see Billups pull on his shoulders after it got stolen. Good no call either way. Bcuz it shoulda been called an open court foul. Which would mean 2 free throws and the ball back to LA. Calm down, bruh.
jim Bloomington [via mobile]
Kobe is a beast
Craig (Temple, Texas)
If I was Mr. Vick I would become a card carrying member of PETA throwing paint on furs rescuing all the deer hunters kill for sport just kidding. Give Vick a chance.

When players get to the NBA do they forget how to box out
Todd: Bangor, Maine [via mobile]
Is it just me, or did the Nuggets have complete control of that game? And to top it all off, they cant even inbound the ball to give themselves a very good chance to win at the end. Is this a show of the characters on that team, or just how good LA is?
Dana Jacobson (10:11 AM)
Craig - disagree with you sorry. PETA is an extreme organization something like the humane society/spca which he has already hooked up with is much more reasonable. He will be working with the humane society in trying to raise awarness about dog fighting and help end it - not just a spokesman but more hands on - according to info i've read.
Wilmington, DE [via mobile]
All the game proved is that the nuggets have a shot of knocking off the lakers in L.A. They played hard and their confidence is growing!

Mike (Mobile, Al)
I don't know why there are so many kobe haters
Dana Jacobson (10:11 AM)

kobe fan, Pa [via mobile]
kobe the best player in the league lebron has not won a championship yet you can never compare those two yet until he won championship?
anthony Miami fl [via mobile]
Lebron is a freak of nature that's his biggest asset his jumper is mediocre at best and his d is a product of his physique kobe is the man better shooter,on ball defender and the most overstated of all better closer
Jeff (Ohio)
A true champion? Don't make me chuckle. Cue the Phoenix game 7 where he laid down and the entire Boston series last year. Kobe - Shaq = the most overrated player ever.
Cowboy Ron (Piston, PA)
Skip is DEAD wrong about the Nuggets. The refs had a lot to do with this loss. I can't believe he is so jaded.
Andy (Canton,Ohio)
I think the Nuggets lost that game. They haven't been in this position before and crumbled under pressure.
Adam G. Tampa, FL
KMARTS BEEN IN THE FINALS TWICE he's gotta know better than to foul there!
Jason (Ellicott City, MD)
Breaking News: Blake Griffin flees country.
ryan michigan [via mobile]
The only thing this series will depend on and the hopes of the lakers to win the title is bynum. Thelakers will go as bynum goes. They squeeked by last night with bynum a nonfactor but when bynum plays well there's no team left that can compete with the lakers
Moderator (10:14 AM)
what should Goodell do about Vick now?
Frank, CALIFORNIA [via mobile]
What a good hard fought game. You have to stop all the crying about refs and they should called this and not that. Refs are part of the game. Just like basketball.
Jason (Ellicott City, MD)
I hear hockey is having a playoff right now, too.
andre columbus, oh [via mobile]
Its obvious that kobe was being kobe last night. Guarding melo, jr smith, and billups all at some point in the game. He is still the best on ball defender and as far as offensive goes. He is still the best, he was getting hacked all game. And the called the fouls down the stretch and kobe hit all his FTs. He himself earned that victory for LA. 16 in the 4th. Denver better hope the supporting cast doesn't come to life in game 2. LA wins the series in 5. SORRY CAVS FANS, kobe is coming to town!
Dana Jacobson (10:16 AM)
Jason, sarcasm? I hope not...great game last night - wings up 2-0
jarvis Chicago Il
Skip the question is who is better right now so stop bringing up things from previous years
Selena (Louisiana)
Goodell should reinstate him. Vick needs to get back into football shape. Just let the guy redeem himself as a professional.
Dana Jacobson (10:17 AM)
selena, every indication has been that he will be reinstanted
Jason (Ellicott City, MD)
Frank: The NBA refs affect the outcome with their poor officiating more so than any other sport.

I see vick getting another chance. A losing Team will take a chance. They will be rewarded. Michael Vick will win a super bowl before he retires!

Jason...a baseball home plate umpire affects any game moreso than any other official...his strike zone dictates the entire game
Dana Jacobson (10:18 AM)

Nathan (Marshall, MN)
I haven't heard any Brett Favre news for over 24 hours. What's up with that?
Moderator (10:18 AM)
lets take a Favre holiday today, OK Nathan?
Jeremy (New Orleans, LA)
Let Vick play football the man went to jail let him get back to something he knows and loves, FOOTBALL! I'm sure if you let out of jail you would love to get back to something you love and are used to. a 5 game suspension at most
Max (Chicago)
Does Skip have any clue about what he's talking about? He thinks LeBron isn't clutch, he thinks LeBron can't close a game, that's laughable. Tell him to go to 82games.com, and check out LeBron and Kobe's respective clutch stats. It isn't even close, LeBron is a better closer then Kobe.
Kevin, Pa
As far as hockey goes it will be a repeat of the finals last year. I hope the Pens win it all this year.
Drew (PG, FL)
As for the Michael Vick situation, I honestly can't see him playing QB in the NFL again. Sure he is an electrifying athlete but he only had a completion percentage of 58%. He is much better suited at this point to be a slasher, or a specialty QB in an offense like the "Wildcat". Also I don't see many suitors lining up to sign him since he hasn't been able to practice much.
Dana Jacobson (10:19 AM)
drew stay tuned
Matt (Milwaukee) [via mobile]
How about them BREWERS, sweepin the cards and winning 21 of the last 26 games, how come no one ever talks about them? Its always the Yankees and Mets
darrell pontiac, mi [via mobile]
People dont understand kobe is the best in the game because of his attitude, he is a true competitor and he knows how good he is
R Mom (Spring Valley, NY)
Jackie Mac on 1st and 10...How Bout That!!!
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
Let Vick back in the NFL. How can the NFL's punishment be greater than that of our penal system? The NFL isn't omnipotent!
tyven, fresno, ca [via mobile]
lebron is like four inches taller than kobe, 80 lbs heavier than kobe how can you compare those two player? its like comparing shaq with spud webb or favre to emmitt smith! total different position and style.
Lance (New York, N.Y.)
Only Mike Dumbleavy's Clippers getting the #1 pick could convince Bill Simmons to do a second chat within a week. I can't wait to throw the most ridiculous trades. Man, Dumbleavy really is in a league of his own.
Trenton, nj [via mobile]
Vick will be reinstated and play QB in the NFL again. No suspension at all. Come on Skip he did his time
Selena (Louisiana)
Everyone talking about LeBron. Well let's see how LeBron stands up to its first real competition in the East tonight against the Orlando Magic. See if he rise to the challenge.
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
The NHL needs another Pens/Wings finals. It's their only hope to get any viewers.
Ray: Duluth, Ga
I am going to admit to being a LA fan but the major problem that I have is that Fisher doesn't always play within him self. He tries to do far more than he is capable of doing
Daniel (Huntington, WV)
Vick did his time let him play...LET HIM PLAY
Nathan (Marshall, MN)
Goodell should suspend Michael Vick at most 4 games. He has suffered long enough in prison for his crime and he should get the opportunity to go back to the NFL and try and catch on with a team
John (Rocky Mount, North Carolina)
Wow at this rate, the Lakers/Nuggets won't have to play game 4 if the Nuggets' players keep costing themselves the game with mistakes
John, Austin
I feel sorry for two people this morning. Jackie for having to deal with Skip and Blake Griffin for losing the draft lottery last night.
Jack Minnesota
Wow, it's a sad day when dogs are valued more than the life of a human being. I don't see how you suspend Vick more than Little was suspended
James Denver
I think I will start complaining about the Rockies now.
Andy (Canton,Ohio)
Wow. Skip being the voice of reason on the Vick matter. I am impressed I figured Skip would want a lifetime ban.
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
Also, the NFL needs to be careful. When Jamel Lewis got busted for drug-trafficing (which to me, is just as serious if not more dangerous than dog fighting), his suspension coincided with his prison term.
Jeff (Ohio)
I'm sorry Mod but that's just wrong. Jason said POOR officiating. MLB umps generally do an excellent job of calling balls and strikes. NBA refs make more terrible decisions per game than any other official, and it's not even close.
Moderator (10:26 AM)
what about the NFL part time officials? they've been taking a lot of heat for bonehead calls over the past few years...only thing that saves them half the time is instant replay
Pat (Denver)
wow one game in and John is already throwing in the Nuggets towel for them
robbie ohio [via mobile]
Lakers can win in denver and i feel the refs favored denver last night missed the step out of bounds and look at the fouls and free throw attempts. Lakers were just the more hungary team.
Paul (West Palm Beach Fl.)
Vick has paid his debt to society. It's time for people to let this guy make a living again as long as he shows remorse. I would guess that is cost him 50 million dollars in Earnings, between his contact and endorsements.
Revis (Florence, KY)
Everyone keeps saying Vick did his time. Does that excuse what he did? No. He had everything he could possibly want: the biggest contract, a job half of the country would kill to have the skills to have. And what did he do with it? He chose to do something stupid that got him thrown in jail. He CHOSE to mess it up. Why should they let him back in?
Tyree (Kennewick wa) [via mobile]
orlando doesn't have enough guys 2 throw at Lebron on the outside. Lebron will have a field day
chris (brentwood, NY)
goodell shouldnt suspend vick at all...he did jail time...jamaal lewis went to jail for drug trafficing and he didnt miss a beat...im a dog lover and i think vick has done more than his share of punishment for what he did...
Jeff (Ohio)
Probably because Leonard Little, while still doing something illegal, didn't mean to kill anyone. Vick did it on purpose. Huge difference.
Nathan (Marshall, MN)
Johnny, Chicago has caught Blackhawks fever. I think that if they were to reach the finals against the Pens that the NHL wouldn't be too sorry to see that happen.
Rogers,Arkansar [via mobile]
I dont think Micheal Vick should be suspended at all, spending 2 yrs in prison is a very long time! But the NFL will do what they have to do.

Nathan (Marshall, MN)
Hey Dana, sorry about the Kings getting the #4 pick in the lottery last night. But if it makes you feel any better, the Timberwolves fell one spot too. They have never moved up when they are in the lottery. Never.
Chad, Des Moines, IA
Sorry Robbie but Kobe was the more hungry team the rest of the Lakers looked like the clippers down the stretch.
mike, roanoke va [via mobile]
If there was no shaq 4 kobe early in his career, i believe kobe would have been putting up LeBron numbers. . .with a better jumpshot
Dana Jacobson (10:30 AM)
Nathan, they're not really my team anymore. Wish the maloofs the best but ive been there b/f they have bad lottery luck
Xavier( California) [via mobile]
Hey I don't think that the nuggets are mentaly focused. Their playing the lakers not the mavs, from ehat happened with the rockets. The lakers will win this series, the nuggets are going to keep making, bonehead plays. Melo can't beat the lakers by himself
Nathan ( Oklahoma)
Do the Thunder try very hard to move up to get Blake?
Tone(Seattle)
Where are all these people when non famous felons try to get a job? They make it sound like other felons can step into their old life with no after affects. It just doesn't work that way. Companies don't want felons representing them.

Papi: When you are striking out on 80s fastballs, it is time to pack up shop. The Red Sox are going to get Nick Johnson anyway.
Todd ME [via mobile]
Big Papi is washed up, he has barely hit anything long enough to be considered close to a homerun, a few doubles off the green monster is as close as he has come, nothing more
Moderator (10:32 AM)
I thought the Mets were going to get Nick Johnson to fill in for Delgado's missing bat/glove at first?

To say lebron is better than kobe is crazy lebron wont hit those free throws down the stretch
Andy (Canton,Ohio)
Wow Good for Dontrell. It would be nice to see him make a comeback.
Dana Jacobson (10:32 AM)
Tone, sadly life is never fair. Those same people also weren't paid millions in their jobs before. Except maybe martha stewart and she did just step back in. Look, he has to earn his spot but to deny him a chance is opposite of what we claim to be as a society, full of forgiveness and second chances. A society that sends you to prison supposedly to reform you and make you a productive member of society. It may not always work, but wouldnt it be nice if it did sometimes
ray duluth, ga
I wont go as far as saying washed up but he is close to it.I think a major factor is just his conditioning. He looks like he is heavier now than he has been in the last few years.
John (Boston) [via mobile]
Big Papi is sooo bummy...He has no right to be called Big Papi, more like Lil Mama
Demitry (NJ) [via mobile]
Vick didn't kill a person or drive drunk possibly killing a person. Players who have actually killed a person are still in the league so how can people day Vick shouldn't play in the NFL anymore?
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
There must be something else going on with Big Papi besides the wrist. A guy doesn't just go in the tank like that this fast.
Joey San Antonio TX [via mobile]
Michael Vick suffered enough already. He should be reinstated and move on. Everyone deserves a second chance to fix there life. Plus hes a very exciting QB and now hes a lot stronger. The Cowboys should pick him up since Jerry Jones wants to run the wild cat offense Vick would be perfect.
Chad, Des Moines, IA
If there was no Shaq for Kobe he'd be Karl Malone. Come on, he hasn't won any more rings (without Shaq) than Lebron.
Danny (Tonasket, Wa.)
Mod, Big Papi washed up? In my lifetime I have seen power hitters go through slumps and finally got going again. So I don't think so yet. What I worry about is not his ability but his own attitude, his reported comments sound like he has given up and if true then he is gone.
Revis (Florence, KY)
How about Dontrelle Willis getting his first win in Detroit? It only took him a year and a half.
Craig (Temple, Texas)
giving the #1 pick to the Clippers is like giving your debit card and pin to a crackhead you nothing good is going to happen.
Michael Kim (10:34 AM)
I think Cowboys would be perfect for Vick... I've been saying this, but the Cowboys aren't saying it publicly.
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Big Papi's new name is Big Pop Up

Demitry (NJ) [via mobile]
Did anyone say Magic never won a ring without Kareem? No because Magic was not a role player and neither was Kobe. Kobe has 3 rings and Lebron has zero. Shaq would not have any rings without Kobe or Dwade
Moderator (10:39 AM)
Actually, Demitry...Magic played center for an injured Kareem and won a title for the Lakers one year
Mark(manhattan ks)
How is it that Vick needs to "prove" himself to the public. Matt Light of the Patriots was caught with cocaine. He took a plea deal and wore a wire in a drug sting. Fans pay for tickets, that money goes to the players, and Matt Light was using fan money to buy drugs...Does he need top prove himself as well?
Jason (Daytona Beach, Fl.)
It's funny how people say the Cavs haven't been tested. The #1 seed always plays the #8 seed, then a #4 or #5 seed. The Cavs were the first team in NBA history to sweep the first two rounds with double-digit wins. No team has ever passed that test in the first two rounds.
Dana Jacobson (10:40 AM)
mark - anyone who plays sports has to prove themselves to the public if they fall out of favor.
Paul (West Palm Beach Fl.)
Mod, I hope Dontrelle does turn it around. He is a really nice guy. Met him after the Marlins won the Series and he was nothing but a good guy.
Moderator (10:40 AM)
I'd be nice too after I won a World Series, Paul...can the dude still pitch?

The cowboys don't have the strong enough coaching staff in place for Vick. plus they cleared house to get rid of the circus, not 2 bring it back.
Joe (Louisville,KY)
Michael Vick was wrong but when is enough enough? He's done close to two years in prison and lost over a hundred million dollars. All he has left is football if a team is willing to take a chance Goodell should let him play.
Rod (Milwaukee)
Is it just me or did Dontrell Willis put on a little weight? Other than that i think he'll be fine

Skip claims he hasn't seen the Nora Tobin ads on the internet. Yeah, right.
Dana Jacobson (10:42 AM)
max, no. He's got a nice body and seeing as we show the SI swimsuit models, nothing wrong wtih showing sanchez and commenting
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Hamilton get's a 7.5 he kind of came at the wall at an angle. Pena gets a 8.0 great catch but wasnt running full speed. Zobrist gets a 8.5 for flipping into the stands at a full sprint.
Josh (Chicago IL) [via mobile]
Dana I wish you was on the debate with skip instead of Jackie. She make it seem like Vick is some hardened criminal, he was fighting dogs. She trying to cast him out all together come on that's unrealastic

Yes moderator I know that but that was 1 game not a whole season or entire playoff series.
jeremy topeka ks [via mobile]
How bout them royals? What a game. What's the chances the royals bring the pennant back to kc
Dana Jacobson (10:43 AM)
Josh, as you've no doubt seen a lot of varying opinions on vick. AND it's only going to get worse once he is up for reinstatement. Everyone has a right to an opinion.

Mike, without Shaq, the Lakers would have had no rings with just Kobe and Phil. Just like they have no rings now!

Does everyone here forget about Ray Lewis. Look at what he was involved in and got no suspension once he was out of jail.
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
Dana makes a great point, Tone. Remember, it was only a few years ago we were watching the Kobe trial for sexual assault. Look at where Kobe is now. Should we have tossed his aside and not allowed him a second chance?
airbrusher (cali)
lol lol wow those abs were airbrushed big time!!! look at it again.

More reasons not to get GQ.
mark(manhattan ks)
Yea that's true Dana, but still the fact remains that this guy was in essence using my money and yours to buy drugs. Who knows what the drug gealer used that money for...guns, murder, more highly addictive drugs to push on the street? To me that is waaaaaay worse than fighting animals in a backyard
Ryan (Louisville, KY)
I agree that it's the wrist that is affecting Ortiz.
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Papi misses Manny not only in the lineup behind him, but to help him with his mental stage.
Mr. Breedlove (Hollywood) [via mobile]
Mark sanchez should contact ari gold
Calvin W (Clearwater, FL)
Pena-2 Zobrist-8 Hamilton-9.5. Pena loses points for the other team catching him.
Dana Jacobson (10:46 AM)
mark, i've never bought a ticket to see him play so not my money. But i know what you're saying. I go back to the accountability. Doesn't matter what it is that someone does that you think is wrong, if you don't like it - don't go to games, buy jerseys, etc. I don't know if that's realistic - holding the whole team accountable for one person but otherwise what do you do? Goodell is at least trying to get more individual accountability - for good or bad
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
How soon before people say that Ortiz's decline is because he's off the juice? After the Manny deal, nothing would surprise me anymore.
Jerry Rouse Brooklyn, NY
I want to say I disagree with Jackie and Skip about Michael Vick being suspended by Roger Goodell their opinion has some merit, But Michael understands what has has done and lost and I think he will show in due time the major damage he has cause. Be positive everyone and not negative
albert saint simons [via mobile]
Zobrist hands down
Steve (phoenix AZ)
Josh - last time I checked, Michael Vick was a criminal. You don't have to agree with her about sitting out another year but there are plenty of people out there that think he should sit out another year.
Nyah,Toronto [via mobile]
There is no way that anyone right now,who thinks that David Ortiz wants to be still playing in Boston. It is quite obvious he does not want to end his career there.
mark(manhattan ks)
what in the world is going on at USC. First Lienart wants to be a movie star, now Sanchez thinks he's a super model...Someone needs to see what Pete Carroll is feeding these guys.

mark it's LA!!!!
Hudson aiken, south carolina [via mobile]
will vick play this year? and if so for who?
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
Hey Mark, so was Josh Hamilton. And he recovered very well, thank you very much. Do you want to throw him out the league? Everyone deserves a second chance.
Nathan, Woodbury
How is Joe Mauer's play at the plate not on the plays of the week list? Its a way better play than all 3!!!
Moderator (10:48 AM)
I hear ya, Nathan...
Dana Jacobson (10:49 AM)
hudson yes i think he will. in hour 2 herm edwards gives you 3 teams - i'll tell you this much two are nfc south, one is afc south
Craig (Temple, Texas)
Big Papi go seek some help man. It's sad to see you now.
Paul (West Palm Beach Fl.)
Pena 8 for having the heart to go into the oppisite teams dugout, Zobrist 7 for the flip and Hamilton gets a 6 as it was an above average play.
Sean (TR NJ)
Once again the best playoff game on does not get mentioned. that was Detroit and Chicago friends. I know its a very heavy BB chat, but no doubt Hockey had the better game with OT and great goaltending.
James Denver
I read into Karls comments long pauses entirely differently. I got out of it he didnt want to comment risk being fined for critical comments towards refs etc..
Dana Jacobson (10:51 AM)
sean outstanding game. ozzie was fired up wasn't he. That early glove save on the top shelf slap shot, awesome
Craig (Temple, Texas)
Dana, Herm is missing one. the cowboys!!! Vick was never a problem player on the field just in personal life.
Dana Jacobson (10:52 AM)
craig we asked him for teams that he thinks he would fit in on right now - he doesn't think the boys
Paul (West Palm Beach Fl.)
Dana, My questions is how many starting Qbs are not as good as Vick was and will he be better/worse or the same player that we saw a few years ago?
Dana Jacobson (10:53 AM)
Paul, it's really hard to say right now. Remember we don't know what level vick will come back at. I don't think he will be as good as he was in that he's been away from the game. He'll be healthier but its a timing thing, that'll be off. BUT if he's still eulusive that's a plus. Just a lot of questions about him till we see him
Calvin W (Clearwater, FL)
Why isn't the CFL interested in Michael Vick. His NFL ban doesn't affect the CFL, right?
Jared Martin (Atlanta, GA)
Jerry West was absolutely right about Lebron being the best player in the league. Skip is in denial because Lebron has hit 5 game winners in the past 3 postseasons. It hard to close out games when you're on the bench with a 20 point lead like Lebron has been this postseason. Kobe still was outplayed last night by Carmelo. Carmelo had 39 on 14-20 shooting. Kobe shot 8 more shots and made 1 less than Carmelo. Carmelo simply lacked touches at the end of the game.
Calvin W (Clearwater, FL)
Mental cannot be fixed. Ask Steve Sax, Joe Cowley, Steve Blass, Chuck Knoblauch, Mackey Sasser.
Dana Jacobson (10:54 AM)
Calvin he can't play for the CFL unless he's released from his nfl contract
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Papi is playing his way out of Boston. HE wants to go. Manny's gone, Alex Cora's gone, Coco Crisp is gone.... these were all his boys. Now he has no one there he can relate to. He sees Papelbon throwing Manny under the bus, he knows some of his teammates now are fake.
Craig (Temple, Texas)
Dana just a suggestion that's all. Cause we play to win the game and lord knows we need a playof win in D town.
Dana Jacobson (10:54 AM)
Craig, in my D town too!!!! forget a playoff win, we jsut need a win
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Wow George Karl just shot his team in the foot.
Eric (Minneapolis)
I agree Nathan! Great play at the plate! He is definitely player of the week. 6 hrs in 12 games with over .400 batting average...
Mr. Breedlove (Hollywood) [via mobile]
Aside from the jokes I've been making, onto a serious topic. As for Michael Vick, he's in a different light than the Josh Hamilton's/Matt Light's and even Matt Jones' of the world even though Jones is probably done. There is a difference to the majority of the public, with drugs and murdering something, being different. Drugs, you are doing it to yourself and although it certainly isn't going to put you on a box of Wheaties, it isn't murdering something. It's a very complicated situation, one that has been talked about for forever now but the simple fact is that no matter what, if he gets on to another team, not everyone is going to be happy. I personally see him going to Buffalo.
Sean (TR NJ)
Dana good call that was a heck of a save and the flury put on in the second with the three consecutive scoring chances down low that Khabibulin turned away amazing both were on fire last night.
Dana Jacobson (10:55 AM)
sean, couldn't agree more. how clutch has cleary been too
Demitry (NJ) [via mobile]
There are a lot of QB's in the league that are not better than Vick
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Paul to answer your question stat wise. Vick's 75.7 passer rating in his last season would have put him as the 28th best QB in the NFL last year.
Dana Jacobson (10:56 AM)
Jason, passer rating is the most overrated stat EVER. I'm not saying that vick was #1 but as a non pocket passing QB, come on. Even for pocket passers it s an overrated stat
jeremy topeka ks [via mobile]
Dana, zack grienkie has a big game today cy young?
Dana Jacobson (10:57 AM)
jeremy he's been in cy young talk since week 2!
CULI MACC (DAYTONA FL.)
IF THE CLIPPERS SELECT GRIFFIN HE IS A GARUNTEED BUST!!
Sean (TR NJ)
Paul quick answer is he is better than quite a few QB's because of his legs but no way is he tha same player he was I heard something obsured last night on ESPN that he is rested or fresh legs or something to that effect? To me thats just ridiculous
Dana Jacobson (10:59 AM)
Sean there is something to health, not getting banged up for a full year. BUt you have to see where his timing is, how quickly he can read defenses, etc. plus new team, new system. and he won't be a starter so he's got some time
Sean (TR NJ)
Unfortunately for a young Blackhawks team I think that one could have been a back breaker did you see those kids faces after the game sitting on the bench one second thinking possible split now thinking how do we survive a long series against the machine. Still a great season for them though.
bre ft. worth, texas [via mobile]
griffin will be a bust in l.a.
Dana Jacobson (10:59 AM)
dont count em out sean - they'll get a boost at home
Calvin W (Clearwater, FL)
Why does the guy with the second pick look so sad? Ricky Rubio will probably be a great player too.
Ryan (Louisville, KY)
I don't see how Vick can be a successful QB in the league with his size and type of QB he is with his run first, pass second mentality. There was a time when that was popular but now defenses have learn how to control/limit what that type of qb can do, especially with the wildcat being a popular type of play.
Dana Jacobson (11:00 AM)
ryan - wildcat
James Denver
The Clippers should take Ricky Rubio 1st overall. If they dont Memhis is going to love reuniteing him with his Spanish team teamate Mark Gasol and the Grizzlies wit OJ Rubio and company would be scary.
Fabe (Bradenton, Fl) [via mobile]
Dana, ok we all know that there are teams untreated in Vick. But as a fan of the game who would you want to see Vick play with that would be mossy intresting to you?
Dana Jacobson (11:00 AM)
Fabe, let me think and get back to you in a minute got to go do our rejoin
Paul (West Palm Beach Fl.)
Wow I feel like a butt kisser but I think it's more that Dana and I agree when it comes to the QB position.
R Mom (Spring Valley, NY)
This weeks plays of the week are truly some top plays of the week. Hamilton: 8.5. Great control of his body. Zobrist/Pena: 10. It's a tie for the maximum effort. The dark horse: Oriole's Bench: 11. Inimitable level of sportmanship!!! I don't think I have ever seen an opposing team do that before!
Craig ( Temple, Texas)
Man I hate stats. only one thing that matters in the end is w's vs l's.
jarvis Chicago Il
Griffin will not be a bust he will be just like keynon Martin and he was taking #1
Nathan, Woodbury
James the Grizzlies already have too many guards with Conely, Mayo, and Gay, they will take Thabeet, they need size.
Michael Kim (11:05 AM)
BTW, forgot to congratulate Dana and the Wings fans for the Game 2 win -- looks like your team is headed to the Final -- barring a dramatic turnaround by Chicago
Sabastrian Jackson (Valdosta, Ga) [via mobile]
What team will Michael Vick play for?
Paul (West Palm Beach Fl.)
Ya got to take Pena as his catch was by far the toughest.
Revis (Florence, KY)
I'd give Pena an 8, Zobrist a 7, and Hamilton a 5
Michael Kim (11:06 AM)
Herm Edwards has a really good pick, i think. You'll have to watch
Efrain (Bayonne NJ)
Poor Griffin will rot in a Clippers uniform
Nathan, Woodbury
Those plays dont count without Mauer! The Rays outfielders catch was the best, we have seen the others many times. T. Hunter makes a catch like Hamletons weekly.
Moderator (11:07 AM)
Nathan, this week's theme was running into a wall...thus...no Mauer in Plays of the Week
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
I'm voting for the play I thought was best of the week. I give Brett Gardner a 10 for his inside-the-park HR and the story that went with it. If you weren't moved by that, you aren't human.
Moderator (11:08 AM)
be moved all ya like, Johnny...but the theme this week is running into a wall...
Alex (Charlotte, NC)
For the play of the week, I like Josh Hamiltons catch because it is the most graceful. Not only does he jump at the perfect time, but he positions his body perfectly to take the impact of the wall with no risk of injury.
Moderator (11:08 AM)
got a rating Alex? 1-10?
Hook (Southern Maryland)
I am disappointed in my O's for saving Pena but the Zobrist catch is the best.
Moderator (11:09 AM)
Hook, hang a rating on that post..1-10
Adam (Grand Rapids, MI)
Alex, Hamilton left the game after the inning ended
Adam G. Tampa
Zobrist 9.5 Great body control Way to hold on to the ball. Pena gets a 10 for the perfect gymnast type landing and still catching it. Hamilton 9.5 Covered the most ground and still makes amazing catch supreme athleticism.
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
Zobrist: 8.5 Hamilton: 8 Pena:7
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
The Mod has no heart. I am nicknaming you Tin Man, Mod.
Hook (Southern Maryland)
Hamilton 8, Pena 8.5, Zobrist 9.2.
Alex (Charlotte, NC)
9
derek (mo)
zorbist 8, pena a 8.5, and hamilton a 9 was kinda impressed think i saw griffey try that catch once think it broke his ankle nice effort
Bryan Charlotte [via mobile]
Hamilton a solid 9.
Selena (Louisiana)
Come on Jackie, the Celtics had shooters too in Allen, House, and even Rondo occasionally. Shutting down LeBron hurts the Cavs chances.
mark(manhattan ks)
LeBron James is the most OVERRATED athlete of ALL TIME! The guy has done absolutely nothing, except for winning a media pushed MVP this year. GO MAGIC!!!
Callie amory ms [via mobile]
Zorbist 10 hands down winner
Eric-Plymouth, minnasota [via mobile]
I have never red so many conspiracy thought. Denver lost because they couldn't make more shots. The refs have nothing to do with how many free throws someone gets, or who fouled out. Accept it lakers are the better team
Mike H. (Tampa)
Zobrist gets a 10 for total commitment to making that play.
Dana Jacobson (11:15 AM)
eric - it's the playoffs, it's all about conspiracy theories!!!!
Fabe (Bradenton, Fl) [via mobile]
Dana, did you put thought to my question?
Cowboy Ron (Piston, PA)
I think that Dwight Howard needs to toughen up to win a big series. He is softer than the skin on Skip's hands.
Craig(Temple, Texas)
Lebron has been to a finals already this is nothing new to him but is to Orlando.
Dana Jacobson (11:16 AM)
Fabe, i'm thinking right now.
CULI MACC (DAYTONA, FL.)
SKIP YOU CROWNED KOBE & HE AINT DONE JACC SQUAT SENSE SHAQ DEPARTED!!
Selena (Louisiana)
I'm with Skip Bayless on this one. Amazing. Orlando is big and athletic.
Dana Jacobson (11:18 AM)
Fabe, let me see - not that they need another on the roster but how about the jets? the saints - could use him in wildcats...not to replace breeze in anyway but you have the ultimate pocket passer in some ways and then the elusive vick - another explosive type player (if he comes back still that way) like bush
Takashi (Miami, FL)
I think that Dana may need to back off on her support of Michael Vick. This guy hurt defenseless animals. That is the same as abortion.
Adam (Grand Rapids, MI)
How is Lebron overrated? How many categories did he lead that team in? This is coming from a die-hard Pistons fan...
Mark nj
Getting drafted by the Clips is same as getting drafted by the Lions. Same grim outlook.
Craig (Temple, Texas)
mark from Ks are you nuts? He has lived up to the hype that wouldve crushed other players. He took a team to the finals already true he has not won one yet but he will.
James (St. Louis) [via mobile]
The Lakers played poorly..except Kobe..while the Nuggets had a great game. The Nuggets BLEW their chance
Dana Jacobson (11:19 AM)
Takashi, just as you are entitled to your opinion, I am as well. I believe the man deserves a second chance. I don't condone what he did. I've gone on record as a dog lover, as someone who's saved a dog that was believed to have been abused, what vick did was awful and deserved punishment. BUT he served his time Takashi.
Jared (Smyrna, GA)
Do you watch sports Mark? He took the most average team in 2006 to the finals and he has made a gloom ridden franchise into the best team in the league. Please research before making ignorant statements. :-)
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
Vick to the Titans. He's a better version of Vince Young.
Dana Jacobson (11:20 AM)
Johnny you already have a project in young...don't see it
Dana Jacobson (11:21 AM)
folks, who think i'm supporting what vick did - try again. I support his right to a second chance.
Chris ctsfinest [via mobile]
Is Blake Griffin a clean cut Kenyon Martin?
Michael Kim (11:22 AM)
Chris -- I haven't seen it -- maybe he has it, but he needs to be more aggressive to match Kenyon's intensity. Maybe the NBA will bring it out in him
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Herm Vick would revive the city the Saints are a perfect match.
Nathan, Woodbury
Im sick of all the Vick talk! Just because he was a good QB on Madden doesnt mean he is one in real life!
Aaron (Denver)
Herm! The Saints wildcat would be insanely fast with Reggie and Vick...interesting
Michael Kim (11:23 AM)
I love Herm's pick -- the Saints! That Wildcat would be explosive!
Revis (Florence, KY)
OK, I have a huge problem with Herm saying that Vick would be a good fit on my Panthers. We were 12-4 without him last year. We don't need the baggage that he brings.
Michael Kim (11:24 AM)
I don't think I agree either with Carolina or Jax for that matter
Paul (West Palm Beach Fl.)
We live in America. The land of 2nd chances.
steve from new jersey [via mobile]
The bottom line is this. The lakera are very lucky to steal that game,at home against yes people, the Denver nuggets. These guys are for real and they were a few free throws away from taking apart the lakers. Carmello will go toe to toe with kobe all day long. I got Denver in 6.
Trenton (Seattle, Wa.)
Oakland is pretty good about giving players multiple chances. They need a QB badly.
Moderator (11:24 AM)
what do you guys make of Shaq in broadcasting school?
Selena (Louisiana)
Shaq+Journalism= -100 points. I love Shaq but I don't know. We'll see.
Greg (Crystal Lake, IL)
It'll be shaqtastic
Michael Kim (11:26 AM)
I'm not sure any team wants to give Vick a fulltime Qb job... there were plenty of q's about him earlier... but he's the perfect wildcat qb
jay (Chicago IL) [via mobile]
Good luck clippers fans!! You're about to draft micheal beasley without a jump shot... In the west this guy is going to get eaten alive
Paul (West Palm Beach Fl.)
I love his pick of the Saints too Mk but still think that somehow he ends up in New England.
Michael Kim (11:26 AM)
Don't see that happening but Belichick is all about winning.
mark(manhattan ks)
Shaq's new nick name: The Big Cossell
Aaron (Denver)
Shaq in broadcasting school = Money to burn...Does anyone really think he needs this degree to get a job?! I think Sir Charles does quite well behind the mic without the degree...
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
Shaq is an intriguing figure. I think he can become a good broadcaster and admire him actually working at it, unlike some other pro athletes who just get into the booth and muck things up.
Jonathan (Atlanta)
I can see Shaq being better than Barkley.
ganuenen87 (pa)
shaq would be a great broadcaster!!!
Jeff (Ohio)
Blake Griffin is light years more athletic than Michael Beasley.
derek (mo)
i think shaq is a no doubt lock as a broadcaster you better send the espn scouts to check him out.
Michael Kim (11:29 AM)
Aaron, Shaq doesn't need to do this but he wants to learn the basics and I admire him for not taking the easy way out. It happens in every industry -- a "name" gets a big time job or promotion because of who he is but others who toiled in their craft get passed over. (Not to say Shaq won't get some breaks.)
Greg (Crystal Lake, IL)
All I know is OKC is going to get the STEAL of the draft in Hasheem Thabeet, and have a great one two punch down there with Durant.
Selena (Louisiana)
I don't think Shaq would be better than Barkley. They equal out. But Shaq would be a lot of fun.
Michael Kim (11:30 AM)
Watch out for the THUNDER! Could be a force in a few years.
Bryan Charlotte [via mobile]
No way jerry richardson brings in vick. The panthers cut jeremy bridges for being arrested for throwing a drink at a person. They cut a fa corner they just signed for a dui. No way vick goes to carolina.
Brent (PA)
As long as Shaq doesn;t try to over Shaq the broadcasting mic he will be fine. He is becoming more of a character now. Barkley is great because he is actaully that person on air.
tom nj [via mobile]
Shaq in broadcasting school ? Will it interfere with FT practice and police work! Can he take Skip along? Just a coupla classes.
Paul (West Palm Beach Fl.)
I have one big question. Why didn't anyone trade for Vick? From what I hear all Atlanta asked for was a 7th round pick. If a team really wants him wouldn't they like to know that they don't have to worry about other teams trying to sign him if Atlanta lets him go.
jeremy topeka ks [via mobile]
Jeff beasley tore griffin up in college
Dana Jacobson (11:33 AM)
paul, without knowing when he can play it would be silly for a tam to trade for him at this point.
Nathan (Woodbury)
Maybe Shaq should have gone to acting or music school before he tried those two things!!!
Hook (Southern Maryland)
I just realized I repeated what Micheal Kim said. Sorry about that.
Dana Jacobson (11:33 AM)

Dana Jacobson (11:36 AM)
Johnny, to be honest - my choice either way for a final wings-penguins. As a fan, wings win...as a journalist if the pens win its teh passing of the torch perhaps
Aaron (Denver)
No one is better than Barkley...When asked "How do the Hawks win game on vs the Cavs" Barkley responded with "Shoot Lebron James..." Priceless.
Cowboy Ron (Piston, PA)
I think Dana is awesome to banter with us and debate some very important social topics. Kudos to you DJ because most people don't take the time to actually "chat" in here. They casually answer a question with two words. You are a woman of the people and we adore you.
Cedric (Memphis)
I can see Shaq taking over for Barkley. They are the only two guys in history that have gotten away with saying some of the things they say and they both are pretty funny at times. The only thing is I don't think Shaq can take being the butt of jokes as much.

Shaq VS Skip would be a great debate

Can we find Chad Ford's source that said "Memphis was the one team that might take Thabeet instead of Griffin if it were to get the No. 1 pick" and shoot him? Memphis will not pass on Rubio, we are not the Hawks!

I think that the Orlando Magic have what it takes to possibly upset King James & the Cavs. They have showed better defense lately like in the close out gm 7 vs the ex champs Celtics. Howard it good for @ least (3) 20/20 gms in this series. Plus the Magic also can hit the 3 ball and their starting 5 and bench matchup really well. I can see this series going 7 gms. Should be a classic. Hope King James and the Cavs are ready for a long tuff series.

Jonathan (Atlanta)
Man, the hockey hit was a 10! Screw the other baseball plays
Hook (Southern Maryland)
That hit is a 10. Not everyday the glass is shattered.
Adam G. Tampa
Someone call SKip, Chip
Aaron (Denver)
Dana Top Five... 1) Steelers 2) Patriots 3) Red Wings 4) Spurs 5) Red Sox
Robb (Burlington, CT)
I am sick of all of these "athletes" thinking they can be recutiable journalists just because they played the game. Dana and Michael prove that you don't have to be athletic to be amazing on the air.
Moderator (11:51 AM)
pucker up, robb
Revis (Florence, KY)
Shaq is the sports equivalent of Will Ferrell: people think he's funny when he's really not.
MIX (pittsburgh,pa)
skip gave out a ten i must be dreamin
Dana Jacobson (11:51 AM)
Aaron, i think you have to include the yankees in there. not sure who i'd boot, maybe spurs - and actually i'd do lakers over spurs nba wise
Nate (Chicago)
Dana the Chicago Detroit rivalry will pick up next season from Rose and Bynum from street games!
Dana Jacobson (11:51 AM)
nate it'll pick ll pick up in chicago
Dana Jacobson (11:52 AM)
nate, what i mean is games 3 and 4...really i think home ice is jsut what the hawks ordered!
Hook (Southern Maryland)
Shaq is the opposite of Ferrell. He is funny.
tom nj [via mobile]
Dana you are quite the Mike Vick supporter. Do you think his friends in prison are still behind him?
Dana Jacobson (11:53 AM)
Tom, i'm a supporter of his right to a second chance. I can't imagine the guys who were also punished for this are still behind him or he behind them.
Aaron (Denver)
Dana, how do you make that call? Look at the rings over the last 10 years. Yanks have great history but modern history says otherwise.
Adam G. Tampa, FL
HAHAHA SKIP
Robb (Burlington, CT)
Pucker up? I just said in front of millions on ESPN.com that Dana and Michael are "unathletic" and you posted it.
Moderator (11:54 AM)
got me on that one
Dana Jacobson (11:54 AM)
Aaron, great franchise is more than just the rings - there's a level of consistency. Take the superbowl runner up bills or the eagles, there's some nod you get for getting to that level on a consistent basis
Greg (Crystal Lake, IL)
Dana... let's be real here, Spurs have, over this last decade been a much more successful team than the Lakers, especially Lakers sans Shaq. Spurs ALWAYS are getting overlooked and downplayed and I have no idea why.
jason saginaw, mi [via mobile]
Dana; devos family of gr. Rapids owns the orlando magic, dan gilbert of detroits rock financial owns the cleveland cavs, peter karmonos of detroits compuware inc owns the carolina hurracaines, and mike illitch of detroits little ceasers co. Owns the red wings! That's 4 of the 8 teams left in nhl&nba playoffs owned by michiganders! No better sports state!
Dana Jacobson (11:55 AM)
nice jason!
Jay (San Diego)
How does it feel to root for teams from a city a slight notch below Gary, Indiana in terms of beauty and visitability?
Dana Jacobson (11:55 AM)
Jay don't be a city snob. There are beautiful areas of detroit and awful ones. We can't all have perfect weather 24-7. congrats to you though
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
So then despite winning only one WS ring during its playoff run, you would consider the Braves a solid franchise, Dana? Just asking. Not trying to cause trouble.
Nathan Costello (Cleveland Ohio)
Ben Zobrist should get extra points for sacrificing his body when already winning 11-2
Dana Jacobson (11:56 AM)
johnny i think there's some credit to the braves yes...its like taking all the factors under consideration - fan attendance, community love/involvmt all that stuff
Aaron (Denver)
Dana, you believe the Yankees have been more consistent than the Spurs over the last 10?
R Mom (Spring Valley, NY)
Mark Sanchez...what are you thinking? Two words...Jesse Palmer!!!
Dana Jacobson (11:56 AM)
Aaron did you say consistent or top franchises out there?
Mark nj
Mark Sanchez kinda reminds me of er...gulp...Matt Leinhart? Yikes!
robert[long beach ca] [via mobile]
Dana,do u think that vick would fit in with the forty niners
Dana Jacobson (11:57 AM)
robert not sure of the singletary vick dynamic there....not a favorite to be honest. needs to be more of a veteran guy
Aaron (Denver)
As someone who grew up in the Region...Detroit can't hang with Gary,IN. Gary is as hard a city there we have in the States.
Dana Jacobson (12:09 PM)
hey folks, needless to say shaq was late - his interview will air tomorrow
Dana Jacobson (12:10 PM)
