MICHAEL(NC)
I WANT TO SEE A DWIGHT HOWARD PUPPET! SKIP, PEOPLE SHOULD BEG FOR YOUR FORGIVENESS, YOU CALLED WEEKS AGO.LOL
Bill - Orlando, FL
Thank you Skip! You and Sir Charles are the only 2 analysts that picked the magic to win. They obviously are the better team and will beat the Lakers in the finals, who are a slightly better version of the Cavs.
Kevin Gibbsboro
The only thing Mo should guarantee is an apology to a more well-rounded team
Erik, tustin, Ca
Skip, Can you please pick my lakers to win the nba title? Your magic vs cavs pick is becoming reality!
rome charlotte,nc
I BELIEVE IN MAGIC
Scott (Colorado Springs)
The only thing Mo Williams better guarantee, is he won't say anything stupid again.
Garry Washington(Clinton,MD)
PLease Skip,Dana,Jay...Please talk about the technical that Dwight Howard got in game 4,,,which happens to be his 6th...All he was doing was showing some emotion, just like Lebron James does when he shows how tuff he is an pumps his guns after he is fouled on a tuff bucket,, also how the Cavs cheerleaders excessively cheer when anything happens,,oh my applogies I mean the Cavs bench...can yall please adress that topic...
Cindy Brunson (9:57 AM)
Hey First Take Guys, Cindy Brunson filling in for Dana today, what's good?
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Mo Williams Game 4 guarantee blew up like his swollen left eye.
Cindy Brunson (9:57 AM)
Good one, Adam and oh so true!
Michael Kim (10:00 AM)
Good morning all... Stayed up to watch the game to the very end -- thought LeBron's final shot was going in...
Matt (Satellite Beach, FL)
I have been praying for a Nuggets vs Magic finals, but now I want LA vs Orlando so Howard can just dominate the Lakers "big men"
Jay Crawford (10:04 AM)
goooooood morning room!
Antonio from Fort Lewis, Washington
Cindy can you tell Jay that, I feel bad for him. Since him and the rest cleveland are on verge of jumping off a bridge since cleveland teams just have bad luck. time for a new teams jay
Jay Crawford (10:05 AM)
dont feel bad. im healthy, have a job i love, wonderful family...sports is icing, not cake! dont forget that!!! spoken like a true cleveland sports fan but true...
Michael Kim (10:05 AM)
Matt -- I think the Magic would give the Lakers just as many matchup issues as they are giving the Cavs.
Matt (Satellite Beach, FL)
Morning Jay, tough luck thus far.
Michael Kim (10:05 AM)
all good. really!
Stephen Galloway. Gainesville fl
Think about it even Micheal Jordan had a few tuff years against the Detroit Pistons! The Orlando Magic are Leborn's detroit!. They will not see the tunnel @ the end of this wall! flop on that Ben Wallace! Go Magic! P s Skip ?! keep up the good work?!
Cindy Brunson (10:06 AM)
I love its Stephen, Cindy here. Great point, keep em coming!
Woody from Augusta Ga
It was so easy to see that the refs were trying to give the Cavs the game.
Cindy Brunson (10:07 AM)
Woody, CB here. I don't think the Refs would have tee'd up Superman for a 6th time if that were the case!
Lee (Houston, Tx)
Come on Jay u like every other Cavs fan was drinking Lebron's Cool-Aid, and the overrated Cavs loss like i knew would happen so now they can take those Kobe & Lebron adds off TV.
Oliver: (Orlando, FL)
Jay, that look on your face when the show started said it all. never said it effected your life, but its gotta hurt!
Trevor (warner robins, ga)
How about Lebron running over everyone and that charge call on Pietrus was baloney.
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
The Magic will close it out in Cleveland tomorrow. End of story!
Steve (Chicago)
Stephen- Please stop the MJ/ lebron comparison!! Not ever close. I'm sick of hearing that.
Brian, Detroit
7 forth corner turnovers from LeBron lost the game...he is awesome but he is no Jordan.
Jim (Syracuse, NY)
Skip is telling the truth.
Brian (baton rouge, LA)
Does Lebron need a new nickname?? Mr. Bad Shot
Corey (Syracuse, NY)
Am i the only one who thinks the Lakers are soft and going down in 6?
Robert Pisciotti
Jay.next stop 4 lebron MSG
Randy MA
Come on Jay, just give it up for Orlando. They are playing great b-ball right now and they are going to the Finals.
Loopy
Ha ha ha. Cavs are DONE. The hype machine is dead. Dan vs Dave II. Nike looks stupid. Nuggets vs Magic. Get him Skip.
Moderator (10:09 AM)
not over yet, Loopy....
derek: (glendale hts, il):
skip is right
bee new york
KING JAMES IS THE TRUTH THE REST OF THAT BUNCH R COURT JESTERS MO WILLIAMS IF U MAKE GRANTEE SHOW UP IN THE 4TH QUATERS
Cindy Brunson (10:09 AM)
No Cory you are not alone, LA is in a lot of trouble if the big role guys don't start filling it up big time. Kobe can't do it all by himself.
Johnny ( Sand Point, Alaska)
Are you kidding skip? The Magic sank 17 3's and you're saying Lebron and his 44 points lost the game. The Magic beat them fair and square.
Walter (Seattle, WA)
The Cavs are in the best position to comeback from a 3-1 deficit. You figure they win game 5 and then the refs will help them win game 6 and you already know what will happen if it reaches 7. The NBA is WWE. Don't fall for it!!
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Rafer Alston said their extra motivation came courtesy of Mo Williams.
Andy B. (Cleveland, OH)
Does this series show how good LeBron really is and how bad the rest of his team really is?
Sean (Appleton,WI)
If it weren't for Lebron's three pointer(which was as skill full as a half court shot) this series would be over. Looks like we are all 'Witnesses' to an average team playing in a water downed Eastern Conference.
Cindy Brunson (10:10 AM)
Walter, can you give me the name of your pharmisist? Never say never, not after watching the Red Sox come back against the Yankees in 2004, but COME ON!
Trevor (warner robins, ga)
Where has Daniel Gibson and Wally S. been? The Cavs are saving them for the next 3 games and they will be the saviors for "prince" James! lol yeah right.
Sports4All
Bye, Bye Cadavers in game 5 Go Magic!
Rell from Lansing, MI
Cleveland=Michigan St. Spartans vs. Orlando=North Carolina..NCAA Championship Game......Cleve is just overmatched....
Lance (New York, N.Y.)
When I heard Doug Collins say "LeBron James will guard Hedo Turkoglu", I knew in my mind that "Mike Brown is going to blow it. Turkoglu is a horrendous crunch-time scorer. Rashard Lewis is the most dangerous threat and will burn Cleveland." Of course, Lewis drains the three with less than five seconds to go in regulation. I cannot believe so many people who run teams lack the common sense to do these things. AAUGH!
Benny Mitchell Goldsboro,NC
As much as I hate to agree with Skip, the Cavaliers are not ready. They are a good team but Lebron can't do it by himself. They are a young, bigman away from being a championship caliber team.
Andy B. (Cleveland, OH)
Can the NBA go back and take Mike Brown's Coach of The Year award? He is getting completely out coached.
Daniel (San Diego,CA)
imagine what the magic could be with a coach...
Steven (Wyoming)
Jay, stop your lying, you care and you cried a bit last night, like David Hasselhoff does!!!!!!!!!
MIKE(NC)
CLEVELAND IS SHOOK RIGHT NOW. THEY ARE ALL LOOKIN AT LEBRON TO DO IT! BUT HE CAN'T DO IT BY HIMSELF.
Paul (West Palm Beach Fl.)
STICK A FORK IN THE CAVS.
John, Austin
I think Mike Brown should worry about his job, ala Doug Collins in the early MJ years. Lebron clearly needs a sidekick that is bigger than Williams or West and can play defense. That is what Pippen gave Jordan.
Sean (Rapid City, SD)
It doesn't matter how good Lebron is, last time I checked basketball is still a team sport. Even MJ would admit without Pippen Rodman and others he wouldn't have been able to win the finals. Important stat: Lebron scored 27% of his team's points during the regular season, during the playoffs he's scored 48%.
Johnny (Sand Point, Alaska)
Cindy, Orlando is flat out better than Cleveland thats why they are gonna win. The only reason there is a game five is because of one amazing shot by Lebron.
Cindy Brunson (10:14 AM)
Steven are you enjoying Jay's misery? He says he's "divested" but he crawled in this morning crushed, poor guy. At least Jay has a team in Cleveland, my old Sonics are dribbling in OKC for pete's sake!
Fredericksburg, VA
I watch ESPN First Take every morning and Skip Bayless was predicting for weeks that Orlando would beat Cleveland if they played them. Skip Bayless prediction is becoming a reality.
jeff philadelphia,Pa
if the cavs lose game five and lose the series we will talk about lebron going to new york next year than in 2010.
mike indy
If Cleveland blows this Lebron is gone.
Ralph in Ohio
Skip is the CHOSEN ONE!
Aaron (Denver)
Kobe is going to be a Beast tonight...
Chris Parlin NJ
Have no fear when Shaqfu comes to the Cavs next year, it will be alll gooood! HA
Nathan (Daytona Beach Fl)
This series should be over! everybody still riding on lebron to go to the finals. Show the magic some respect!!!
Josh (DeKalb, IL)
Does Skip even watch the games or dos he just watch the highlights and make judgements of of that. Orlando hit 50% of their 3's. 17 of them to be exact. How about some credit to them. LeBron is not to blame every single time the Cavs lose.
Cindy Brunson (10:15 AM)
Mike, I couldn't agree more. Forget the Chinese influx of dollars/ownership. "AND now at the Garden for your New York Knicks, here's LEBRON JAMES!"
Pinero Miami
Gasol will have a big game and Lakers win game 5 tonight
shane(raleigh,nc)
Please tell Skip to stop being biased against Lebron. The only reason the cavs lose is because he has no help. Its not James' fault or Mike Brown's fault players cant hit open shots
mark(manhattan ks)
How on earth is Mike Brown the coach of the year? He hasn't made one single adjustment all series long....
Cindy Brunson (10:16 AM)
If he doesn't they Lakers won't get it done!
Rell from Lansing MI
I'm rooting for the Lakers but they need to trade Bynum for two tough guys.
MIKE(NC)
CLEVELAND TEAM IS PLAYING FOR 3 QUARTERS, WHEN 4TH QUARTER COMES THEY GIVE THE BALL TO LEBRON AND BECOME WITNESSES.
Uzo (Louisville, KY)
Hey Jay, you know something? If Lebron had missed the second free throw (the one that sent it into overtime) it seems that Verajao was right there to tip it in. That would have won the game for the Cavs.
Robert (Auburn Univ.)
Skip the Magic are a nightmare matchup for the Cavaliers, and I applaud you calling it before anyone else. Being up 3-1 in the series who do you think the Magic are hoping will win series between L.A. and Denver. If I was Orlando I would be hoping to play the most inconsistent team in the playoffs the L.A. Lakers with their constant hot and cold streaks. Thanks for keeping away from the Kool-Aid Skip!
Jay Crawford (10:17 AM)
good point uzo. but it is what it is...
NUF CED (RAIDER NATION)
THE CAVS MAGIC SERIES LOOKS LIKE THE LAKERS-PISTONS FINAL OF A COUPLE YEARS AGO. KOBE HIT A BUZZER BEATER IN GAME TWO OF THAT SERIES.
Aaron (Denver)
Josh your missing the point. Lebron played a heck of a game, but the Great Ones seize the opportunity when it presents itself, they do NOT turn it over 7 times in the 4th and OT.
Paul (West Palm Beach Fl.)
Skip, Kobe never won anything without Shaq.
Rob (Tallahassee, Fla.)
What I don't understand about the Cavaliers was why they didn't shut down the 3-pt. shooters....... this is two seperate games now in which Orlando's long range shooters KILLED them. Cleveland knew it was coming, and did relatively nothing to stop it.
CULI MACC (DAYTONA BEACH)
JAMELE HONEY, WE'VE SEEN THE BEST OF KOBE.. I DON'T THINK HE HAS ANYTHING LEFT IN THE TANK..
Jon. (east Liverpool)
I'll take Kobe over Lebron everyday of the week and twice on Sunday....and Jay is right, he really isnt disappointed becuase he's used to this in Cleveland
Jay Crawford (10:20 AM)
you got it jon!
Corey (Syracuse, NY)
PLEASE SKIP! Kobe is the only mis match the lakers have against the nuggets. At every other position on the court the nuggets own em
Michael Kim (10:20 AM)
Love that the Penguins "touched" the Prince of Wales trophy.
Scott Rockford, Il.
Just remember, soothsayer Skip says that Kobe is outta fuel.
Michael (Gordon,WV)
Skip is right the Cav's supporting cast are not as great as everyone thought, they need another superstar with James to win a ring. Someone needs to step up or the Cav's will be siting on their couch watching the finals.
Atlanta,Ga.
The Lakers need to get the rest of the team,(Minus Kobe) in the boxing ring. They are too soft.
John, Austin
Hey Jay, did you see it last night, did you? It was brief and didnt' happen often but it was there.
Jay Crawford (10:21 AM)
see what john?
james, chicago
cindy, i disagree. i don't see lebron -or- wade changing addresses.
James Elizabethtown Ky
I am a Cavs fan, but even I know we are not the best team in the NBA. The regular season records mean nothing. The best team is the one who wins this time of year. The Cavs are not as good as the Magic, or that is the way it appears. Hate to admit it, but Skip was right again. Unfortunately he is right more time than not.
Pinero Miami
Lebron deserves the the blame when they lose because he gets ALL the credit when they win
Moderator (10:23 AM)
top plays today, theme is dramatic game enders...: Lebron's buzzer beater to win game 2 Syracuse wins LAX national championship Indians 10-0 comback win over the Rays rate them on a scale from 1-10...
Randy (Boston, MA)
I understand that the shot from LeBrick to win the game was an awesome shot, but when Cleveland doesn't make it to the finals, how great is LeBrick's shot really?
Ralph in Ohio
I love Skip's honesty and analysis! He's a forward thinking, intelligent debater who deserves to be called "THE KING"
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
Play of the Week: You got the wrong Syracuse play! The winning goal wasn't that spectualar...it was that tying goal with :04 seconds that was incredible!!! Get it together, guys!
Marc (LA, CA)
Skip is the man and knows what he is talking about!
Jay Crawford (10:24 AM)
he is the man!
Michael (Kentucky)
I am staring to see what Skip has been saying about LeBrick James for 5 years
Clay Dolatowski (Buffalo NY)
Hopefully the Orlando will get a few calls, or no calls for that matter in Game 5 and beyond
Nick Brooklyn NY
Jay if I was a Cleveland fan, and if they lose this series you can pretty much say goodbye to Lebron James because he will not be coming back. Welcome to the knicks.
Jay Crawford (10:25 AM)
he'd look good in knicks blue!
Jon. (East Liverpool, Oh)
I'm willing to bet that neither Lebron or Dwight will win a championship
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Indians comeback gets a 7.0, there are 162 baseball games and doesn't impact. Lebrons game winner gets a 9.5 for his MJ impression in a big game. Syracuse game winning goal gets a 10 because it won the national championsihp.
Michael Kim (10:25 AM)
Wow - Jon. Strong words.
Moderator (10:25 AM)
understood Jonathan...but we're going with gamewinners only this week...but you can factor that into your score that Syracuse had drama just to tie the game...same goes for the Indians though...the game winning run simply was the climax to the entire comback from 10 down
Nathan (Daytona Beach Fl)
Indians 10-0 comeback..the rays are a better team they need to fix there bullpen of its over for them
Brent, from va
If Lebron want's to become one of greats he has to make "THE SHOT".Exp: When Kobe is closing out a game he makes "THE SHOT", When Lebrons Closing a game he makes the shot that put you down by 1 with 6 seconds, or gives you 2-4 fts down the stretch, kb gives you ice water.
Jt
WOW KINGS JAMES.?? I THINK MORE LIKE QUEEN JAMES..LOL..I AGRRE WITH SKIP Lebron is a great driver but he got to stop shooting 3s and the reasond he dont drive the ball more is becouse his afraid of shooting freethrows..
Roc from Alabama
hey Skip why are the technical fouls being called for act of innocent emotion? Are thr refs stinking up the game?
Aaron (Denver)
Anyone ever noticed Shaq has never won without a HOF caliber 2 guard?
Trevor (warner robins, ga)
The Nuggets are done. The Lakers bench is definetly better and the Nuggets are slowly becoming the Knuckleheads that Skip always refers to.
Trevor (warner robins, ga)
Instead of going fishing the Cavs can go "Cheese Rolling." omg lol
Jay Crawford (10:26 AM)
my moneys on anderson!
Richard Laguerre
I think Skip is the man. Lebron blowing 4th quarters is very much true.Skip do you now think Kobe is better than Lebron judging only from this season and playoffs
Moderator (10:26 AM)
Trevor, what makes you so sure the Nuggets will implode? While suspect in demeanor they have punched the Lakers right in the mouth!
Anthony (Orlando FL)
You guys think the series would be over if Jameer Nelson was healthy?
Josh Petoskey MI
unless the brewers plan on giving the padres a quarter of there minor leaguers for jake peavy i dont see that trade happening
BILL IN NASHILLE
Hey JAY I know how Cleveland can still win the title,,,,pack up in the middle of the night and move to Baltimore!!!!
stew seattle
The lakers are playin another team named the nuggets can they get some time
Umor (detroit)
Lebron shot a 8, Indians comeback a 10, Lacross, who cares, a 0.
Cindy Brunson (10:27 AM)
Good Point Anthony. The Magic are up 3-1 without thier floor general!
Jay Crawford (10:28 AM)
that might work!
KC (Denver, CO)
Cavs need to tell mo Williams to stop guaranteeing things. When he said that I knew Orlando was winning game 4. LOL Poor Mo all talk but doesn't show up when it really matters!
david (charlotte-via wade county)
pinero in miami is on point... the "king" gets all the credit for the wins, the buzzer beater(no "s" because not plural)... he wants to flex and pre-game celebrate during the regular season and now he can't back it up...
Patrick(orlando,FL)
We have had the Cav's Celtic's and the Lakers' number this season. Magic are going to win it all...Even with the ridiculous calls from the ref which seem to steer towards a Lakers Cavs final we are still prevailing... It just makes me wonder if there is still a donaghy ref squad out there
mike indy
if the Knicks draft stephen curry which most mock drafts say they will that coupled with clevelands choke will have lebron in ny they are boys right? Lebron and Steph Curry WOW
Dwight Howard (Orlando, FL)
That Technical Foul on me was ridiculous. All I was doing was showing my love for the game and bringing my energy after a possible 3 point play. Every player does that. The league better rescind it or 1 more technical and its a suspension.
Rob (Tallahassee, Fla.)
Lebron's buzzer beater to win game 2 - MEANS NOTHING IF THEY DON'T WIN THE TITLE (which it doesn't appear they will) Syracuse wins LAX national championship = WHO WATCHES (honestly), OR CARES ABOUT, LACROSSE??? Indians 10-0 comback win over the Rays = JUST ANOTHER BALLGAME NEXT!!!!!
Jay Crawford (10:28 AM)
awful call! they're taking the emotion out of the game, and tryiung to turn the players into robots.
Heath(Bham,AL)
IS THIS SKIP'S CROWNING MOMENT?
Moderator (10:29 AM)
C'mon Rob...everyone needs a theme sometime...
Chris (Orlando, FL)
Jameer Nelson said he will play in the NBA finals if the Magic make it.
Jay Crawford (10:29 AM)
not til lebron is out. then he'll be happy.
marty ia [via mobile]
lebron 8 great shot not great defense. syracuse 9 great comeback. indians7 just proves pitching has been optional early this year, other than greinke
Bob/Adrian, MI
Cleveland's big trouble in this series goes back to the difference between having a team thats built for the regular season and ones thats built for the playoffs. Remember San Jose Sharks or the Pistons from a few years back? Cleveland just doesnt have enough talent to win it all yet. Lebron has to get his sidekick and soon or he will be playing in NY!
james, chicago
cindy's a stunner. does it get any better than a nice looking, articulate woman who knows her sports?!
Derrick : Ohio
Cavs will win in 7
Cindy Brunson (10:29 AM)
Plus, New Yorks cleared all kinds of cap room to get Lebron plus a guy like Chris Bosh and then potentially Curry. We may have to start paying attention to the Knicks again!
Jay Crawford (10:29 AM)
derrick....from ohio!
Calvin W (Clearwater, FL)
Wait a second, which Syracuse goal was nominated?
Moderator (10:30 AM)
game-winner, Calvin...but all 3 candidates this week have a storyline you can consider when you're voting
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
My prediction: the Cavs will sign Allen Iverson in the off-season.
Aaron (Denver)
Cleveland over Rays an 8...biggest comeback in 5 years! Lebron's shot 9...10 if it closed the series Syracuse 10...one of the great comebacks on a given sport's biggest stage.
Rob (Tallahassee, Fla.)
Moderator = I hear ya, but you guys gotta be able to do better than that!!!! What about Indy and Castroneves, shackles to fence climbingh????
Moderator (10:32 AM)
seriously...you want to vote a guy avoiding a conviction as one of our game-ending plays of the week?
Mike (Worcester,MA)
cleveland over rays - 7; Lebron's Shot - 9; Syracuse 10
MIKE(NC)
CAN I GET DWIGHT HOWARD PUPPET ON T.V NOW?
Jarrett ( Orlando,FL)
Jay Lebron is forced to shoot, any player in the NBA will tell u, what would u allow Lebron to do (shoot the jumpshot) And the media continue to place this guy on the best ever list...
Tate(The REAL Motown)
Skip big ups
Brandon (Cincinnati, OH)
I think Lebron is leaving Cleveland in 2010 without a doubt. He knows the curse on the city and while i'm sure he'd like to be the one to break it, I think he wants to live in a bigger city than Cleveland, and so does Nike. The blame for losing will always fall on a superstar.
mike indy
Helio beating the feds should be play of the year
Cindy Brunson (10:33 AM)
I don't know about sorry, but there obviously is still one piece missing in Cleveland, which is why the countdown to 2010 is on!
Mike Morgantown WV
Cuse a 10, Cleveland a 9.5 and Lebron a 2 that shot was lucky and it was made after a horrible display of greatness in the 4th
Jarvis Chicago Il
Jt you and skip act like it is that easy to drive the ball to the rack everytime this is not satuardy morning at the rec this is the NBA where nothing is easy
Anthony (Orlando FL)
Chris (Orlando, FL) "Jameer Nelson said he will play in the NBA finals if the Magic make it" I'd like to know were you got that from??
jay crawford (10:33 AM)
jarvis. is he a driver, or shooter?
linfred (brooklyn,ny)
do you think lebron is better than kobe
Brad (Mechanicsburg, PA)
i think that Syracuse comeback was amazing, to tie it with 4 seconds left, and win it in overtime. That has to be a 10. Expecially because they were three goals back with like three min left in reg.
Michael Kim (10:34 AM)
So, just curious... IF the Cavs come back and even the series 3-3, will the bandwagon be loading up before Game 7?
Mike/Chicago
Denver vs Orlando would be a great final.
Mike (Worcester,MA)
Skip, What did you think about that foul called at the end of the game that gave Lebron a chance to tie it?
Cindy Brunson (10:34 AM)
NO. Kobe has 3 rings and Lebron does not. James is really solid and now that he's added defense to his game, but when it comes to making clutch shots day in and day out, Kobe is the man!
Jay Crawford (10:34 AM)
standby...his comments are up coming...
Puncho Charlesto SC
Skip is wrong so often its about time he got one pick right.
Jay Crawford (10:36 AM)
Puncho! Love the blind squirrell finds a nut vibe when it comes to Skip! FABULOUS!
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
Hey Mod, Helio comeback is actually pretty dramatic so why not consider it. You can't win races if your locked up in jail.
Benny, Key West, Fl
Skip- Dwight Howard called for technical for showing emotion after hitting a big shot while getting fouled, yet Mo Williams does not get called for a foul after intentionally hitting Howard with the ball right in front of an offical in game 2. why is nobody talking about about that horrible no call?
Jay Crawford (10:37 AM)
oh we will! and it was horrible!
Kyle NY
Id rather see a Stan Van Gundy/Dwight Howard puppet show!! Throw Shaq in as the grouchy neighbor....
fee-low (chicago IL)
skip would have a cow if kobe and lebron are on the same team
Pinero Miami
cleaveland over rays - 9 Lebron - 8 Syracuse - 4
Joe, Colonia, NJ
Just a few more days and those stupid puppet ads will be off TV, and the ESPN home page!! Yahoooooo
marty ia [via mobile]
i want stan van gundy puppet
james, chicago
skip rubs me wrong...he's much too pompous. no modesty, whatsoever.
Travis (Orlando, FL)
Are we judging top plays of the week or top buzzer beaters or game winners? All 3 are good plays but only lebrons shot can be considered a top play. None of those plays makes you jump outta your seat.
Moderator (10:39 AM)
Travis...you can judge the weight of the victory those plays clinched
Cory, Conneaut OH
Skip I want to come on First and Ten and show everyone just how ridiculous some of your opinions are!!
CULI MACC (DAYTONA BEACH)
MO WILLIAMS, TISK TISK.. SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN ROLL PLAYERS OPEN THEIR FAT MOUTHS.. WHO TOLD HIM HE WAS SCOTTIE PIPPEN??
Brent, from va
The Wheels are coming off The Lebron media wagon, he's just not there yet folks. Believe in KB24 he's proven.(i'm a sixers fan....sadly)
Sidney Crosby (Pittsburgh)
Hey if Lebron ever needs lessons on Getting the Job Done im free until the finals, eh.
Kyle NY
Jay what I gotta do to get some chat room love???
Jay Crawford (10:40 AM)
all you kyle???
TJ (Chico, Ca)
I want to see a Skip and Lebron puppet commercial..
Sidney Crosby (Pittsburgh)
Hey if Lebron ever needs lessons on Getting the Job Done im free until the finals, eh.
veda 13(atlanta,ga)
not take nothing from kobe...but is shaq was not in l.a...he would have no rings..like he will have none this season..he is a great player...but he needs a dominant force..and neither gasol,or bynum is that force
Lance (Fort Collins, CO
Cindy, Kobe has 3 rings because he had shaq and has played 10 years longer almost. Give Lebron a shaq in his prime and he is getting rings too. Big Z does not get it done.
Nathan (Daytona Beach Fl)
That Guy have a ugly suit!!!
Mike Morgantown WV
The bow tie was too much Aaron Brooks and I'm not feeling the trench coat D Wade
Tony (Cincy OHIO)
Man, he looks like a member from Outkast
MIKE(NC)
THE REFS ARE SCREWING UP CALLS, THIS IS THE PLAYOFFS. LET THEM PLAY. WE WANT A TRUE CHAMPION
Frosty (Nashua, NH)
Top Plays: LeBron's buzzer beater: 6.5 - the moment was fairly big, but it was just a top of the arc straightaway three that Orlando shouldn't have allowed in the first place. Syracuse wins LAX: 8.5 - I'm not the biggest fan and don't follow the sport, but that goal with :04 left completely deflated Cornell and you could tell on the players' faces that an Orange win in OT was inevitable Indians comeback win: 9.5 - I'm a homer and Sox fan through and through, but thought this was the best of the bunch.
Aaron (Denver)
Was Joan Rivers not available?! Some needs to tell this guy St. Patrick's day is in March.
Rob (Tallahassee, Fla.)
If Cleveland doesn't win it ALL, let alone the series against the Magic, LeBron's shot means nothing.
Travis
Lebron shot was not that impressive, it just ensured the series would not be a sweep.
Angel (Orlando, FL)
(Anthony, Orlando) I also heard Jameer say that, I think in the Sentinel, but Otis Smith he'll sit til next season.
Kevin (Tuscaloosa, AL)
Already have a Stan Van puppet -- cookie monster.
Tom (River North)
NBA fashion? Really? This is what takes the place of hockey talk?
Trevor (warner robins, ga)
I thought the NBA had a dress code! I was looking for the red carpet.
Heath(Bham,AL)
Cindy will you marry me?
Cindy Brunson (10:46 AM)
Heath, thanks for the offer but I'm already hitched!
Chris (Orlando, FL)
Anthony (Orlando, FL) Jameer said it on an TV interview. They asked him true or false.. if the Magic make the finals will he play... He said definitely true. He was also practicing in his warm ups last night
tom nj [via mobile]
Are you guys bucking for some kind of GLADD Award?
Alex (Mechanicsburg , Pa)
Instead of talking about the UEFA championship we're talking about post game fashion?
Brian (Orlando, FL)
Whats up with the court side reporter for TNT who is wearing sherbert colored suits
Cindy Brunson (10:47 AM)
Too funny. Just covering all the bases. Plus I think the folks at Vogue were busy this morning:)
Andy B. Cleveland, OH
Instead of the LeBron v. Kobe debate, how about LeBron's supporting cast v. Kobe's supporting cast? No brainer, Lakers.
R Mom (Spring Valley, NY)
Lebron: 8.5. Deceptively made Lebron look like a clutch shooter. 6 points for that deception alone. Syracuse: 10. The highlights made me wish I watch Lacrosse. Indians: 8. It get's a point for every run scored and an extra put for the comeback win
mike indy
Sid what have you got done?
Nathan (Daytona Beach Fl)
Sidney Crosby win a stanley cup first before you talk trash..Go Red Wings
Cindy Brunson (10:48 AM)
Sure Andy IF and WHEN those role players come to play wearing purple and gold. LA should be up 3-1 too!
james, chicago
craig sager (sp?) of TNT is color blind!!!
Cindy Brunson (10:49 AM)
James, I had a chance to chat with one of Craigs tailors in the ATL and he really goes out of his way to be as over the top as possible. He said back in the day he started doing it, so his photographer could always find him in a crowd.
Tony
Oh Cindy youre dead wrong! This series should be over, the nuggest gift wrapped every game!!!!
bobby madison wisconsin
its very simple, the greatest player who ever played Jordan couldn't win without help either and lebron is going to be the same, he needs a pippen!
Steve (Fairfax, VA)
I have to give everyone in the media credit for not calling "fixed" with all the bad refereeing going on in the NBA playoffs so far.... Because that's just what it is, BAD refereeing.
Scott (Colorado Springs)
He said that bowtie is huge? That is what she said!
Oliver: (Orlando, FL)
Jameer was out during the shoot-around in warm-ups before game 5.
Sidney Crosby (Pittsburgh)
Hey if Lebron ever needs lessons on Getting the Job Done im free until the finals, eh.
Garry Washington(Waldorf,MD)
Jay Crawford,,what pieces to the puzzle do you think that the Cavs organization need to add around Lebron James
Jay Crawford (10:52 AM)
they need other experienced players. keep what you habve, wally and ben are gone, you have alot of cap space. they need a better perimter defender and a more aggressive big.
Paul(Warwick,RI)
KOBE HAS'NT WON WITHOUT SHAQ.HOW IS HE THE BEST "CLOSER" IN THE GAME?
John: Reedley, Ca
I used to think I liked watching 1st and 10 because of woody page but as much as i hate to say it it is actually skip bayless i like to watch because even though he is too negative, the guy makes really good points. keep doing what your doing skip
Scott (Colorado Springs)
Tony they gift wrapped every game?? Have you been watching? That is as bad as the knucklehead comment. They just murder the lakers in game 4 and have almost won every game before that. I thought the Lakers were going to walk right thourgh the Nuggets. Nuggets win in 6!
Avion Dorchester
SHAQ Never won ANYTHING till he got kobe
Dale Swanson (Denver)
I think its pretty funny that the refs are trying to hand the wins to Labron but despite the refs attempts, Orlando is still coming through and defeating. I guess it would be an awful sight if the refs were fair and the Cavs got stomped on. Id like to see the Magic with my Hornets in the finals..
Tony
Cavs need a athletic big man. Someone who can move his feet on defense. They have that i think in Ben Wallace, but when you put Wallace in the game to guard howard, adding in the fact that Moe and west are not making a shot, the only offensive weapon on the floor is Lebron.
Brian (Michigan)
This isn't MLB. Stop using the term "closer".
Rusty (Jackson, MIchigan)
The Cavs should have traded for Billups, would have given them that experienced player.
anthony (jax,fl)
Paul seriously? Kobe won alot of the games for the lakers while shaq was there
Robert (Auburn Univ.)
If Lebron does leave Cleavland who is he going to have with him if he went to New York? Seems like another rebuilding job to me.
Joe, Colonia, NJ
Boldin is firing Rosenhaus because he doesn't want to do push ups in his driveway! Next question!
jeremy (kansas city, missouri)
shaq would have won in orlando if penny had not gotten hurt!
Matt (South Bend, IN)
Someone fired Drew Rosenhaus?!? A GREAT MOVE! A GREAT MOVE CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!!
James (Kentucky)
Why dont Arizona just give Boldin close to what he wants. They need him.
*Lew* ChiCago
SHAQ has 4 rings to Kobe's 3, that he got for him .....
Lance (Fort Collins, CO)
whoever keeps posting the sidney crosby comment....we get it
joshua highlands tx
kobe hasnt won without shaq
tom nj [via mobile]
Thanks for that piece Cindi. It gave me the courage to come out! I love you Skip Blaylock! Warts, crowsfeet and all.
anthony (jax,fl)
Jay I think Mo Williams really started thinking he was Scottie Pippen
marty ia [via mobile]
the colorado avalanche have gotten so bad that not even patrick roy wants anything to do with them anymore
Clay Dolatowski (Buffalo NY)
I think what the Cav's need is a true point guard... someone like Jason Kidd who doesn't want to score or would rather pass... The rest of the team could be comprised of role players much the 1990's Bulls teams were. Never saw Luc Longly or Jud Buechler making an All-Star team but yet they played their role and played it well...
Anthony (Orlando FL)
Robert New York will have the money for 2 max players so u put him with some 1 like Bosh there be in good shap
Aaron (Denver)
Robert (Auburn) he'll have Steph Curry to knock down the 3's. Plus if he signs Amare Stoudamire will follow suit.
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
Robert from Auburn: I think the Knicks plan on bringing in Chris Bosh or D-Wade along with LeBron.
mike indy
Shaq would not have won if penny got hurt the Bulls were still around then
veda13 atlanta,ga
i think if cavs need someone like a zach randolf type player..a solid scorer and rebounder in that position
MIKE(NC)
IF KOBE WERE A CAV. THE SERIES WOULD BE TIED
Paul (Philadelphia)
Kobe reminds me of DR. J. Great player who never won the Big Game without a great Center. It took the Sixers getting Moses Malone for the Dr. to win it all.
Pavan (Atlanta)
No player can win without a second superstar so Shaq needed Kobe and Kobe needed Shaq!
mark(manhattan ks)
you guys are forgetting that not even shaq won his 4 title by himself
Nathan (Daytona Beach Fl)
Shaq have three rings...D-Wade have One
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
Great point, Rusty! If the Cavs had Billups they probably would be winning the series right now.
Todd (Louisville, KY)
Skip is like Dr. Gregory House on the hit medical drama, "House." He is easily unlikable upon first impression but he is brilliant and his antics begin to grow on you like a deadly parasite. Long live Skip!
Avion Dorchester
Jeremy-thats like saying the celtics would have won this year if K.G didnt get hurt....it doesnt matter and nobody will care
MIKE(NC)
IS KFC'S GRILLED CHICKEN ANY GOOD, IT LOOKS GOOD ON TV.
Brian (Michigan)
I like it when people say next question. NEXT QUESTION!
kaleb(SD)
heard suns were looking to possibly trade Amare how about that kinda help for Lebron
Aaron (Denver)
How many titles would the "Bad Boys" have won witht the current Referees? 80% of the team gets suspended by the 2nd round!
shawn, dover
Will Skip concede that Lebron's the King if they come back to win the series?
Atlanta,Ga.
KOBE and lebron would never work.Remember what happened when we added karl malone and gary patton to the Lakers. I wonder if C.Billups is sending gary p. part of his checks...
Joe, Colonia, NJ
Micheal? Looked good until it clanked off the rim? That brick almost shattered the backboard!
Jay (Georgia)
Mo Willams is HOT GARBAGE
Brian (Michigan)
Did someone suggest trading FOR Zach Randolph?
Mike (Worcester,MA)
Todd, great analogy of house and skip, I couldn't agree more.
Robert (Auburn Univ.)
Stephon Curry is a little small for my taste. I think he could be a great player or a giant bust.
Col. Sanders (Ark)
They didn't use my "secret recipe of spices"..........so it sucks
mike indy
its chicken how exactly can you mess that up mike?
John, Austin
Jay, don't you see, the Indians comeback vs the Rays is all part of the curse. They tease us year after year after year. Now, because they made this one-time comeback, all Indians fans will hang on to this season as if they will comeback and win the division. Bob Feller isn't walking through that door Jay. Don't fall for it!!!!
Paul(Warwick,RI)
Stan Van Gundy is uninspiring, kind of deflating.I don't know how the Magic players stand him.
Brian (Michigan)
Cindy do you have any sisters? Just playing. But seriously, do you?
Scott (Colorado Springs)
Lebron's buzzer beater gets a 3, because that is all it was. To bad he couldn't get that to happen last night. Syracuse wins gets a 10, because I am already tired of Lebron talk and Baseball. Indians 10-0 comback get a 1, because there is way too many games. Sorry Jay.
Cindy Brunson (11:08 AM)
Brian I do, my younger sister Kim. She is a lawyer in Seattle!
Moderator (11:08 AM)
Scott are you taking your bitterness on not getting enough posts out on Jay now?
Michael Kim (11:08 AM)
Joe... Come on, it was looking good in flight -- and let's keep in mind, the shot was from 45 feet away and with time running out, "shooting touch" isn't necessary. It's either good or not good -- and it wasn't good.
Nuggets and Magic
Don't count us out. Lebron and Kobe can have the puppet commercials but you will be watching us in the finals. HAHAHA
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Lebron and Lamar Odom together would be beasts on the glass/court.
tom nj [via mobile]
Skip is getting hysterical.Reminds me of Golic ranting about a wasted ice cream sandwich yesterday. The same passion and crazed demeanor.
Aaron (Denver)
Jamele, I understand Lebron is physically freakish, but he has never been exposed to real physical play. Every time Howard bumps him he cries bloody murder. Mentally he would break against the Nuggets.
Michael Kim (11:09 AM)
I love it! Antbody ready to roll out the Hedo/Nene NON-MVP Muppets? :)
Rob (Tallahassee, Fla.)
mike indy = have you tried it yet?.....It'll gag a dead man.
Anthony (Orlando FL)
Paul say what you want about Van Gundy but he has the magic 1 game from the finals
aminty,CA
The Sacramento Kings should have a 2002 reunion and try to make another run! Turkoglu is a free agent, Mike Bibby, get Chris Webber out of the studio, call up Doug Christie!! what do you think?
Rod (Wynne, Arkansas
SKIP!!! Man when it comes to LeBURN James...we are in the same book, on the same page, same line, AND same word...Lebron is getting too big for his britches...The shot got to his head and he thought too much of it...bottom line...if Kobe was on Cleveland...Kobe would be heading back to Cleveland to close out the game...
Cindy Brunson (11:10 AM)
No good, cause anything involving Christie means one has to deal with his handbag slinging wife!
Paul (West Palm Beach Fl.)
Cindy, Do you think your sister would move to Florida becasue I don't like the rain in Seattle.
Mark(manhattan ks)
The call LeBron got at the end of the game was the one he gets alllllll the time. LeBron ran over the defender as he always does...what a joke!
Scott (Colorado Springs)
Yes Mod, but now lets talk about that. I sent you a check in the mail for getting more post, I am guessing it wasn't enough.
Cindy Brunson (11:11 AM)
Rain in Seattle is a myth. Its overcast and somewhat wet in the AM and then the clouds burn off by the afternoon!
Moderator (11:11 AM)
lot of staffers to pay off here Scott...instead why don't you just write something evocotive, interesting, fair-minded, funny...and the post is free of charge
Paul (West Palm Beach Fl.)
Stan the Man Van Gundy has proved he is a big time coach this year.
Dan (Philly)
Skip is so bias to Kobe, how can you say that wasn't a foul on Lebron and then Jones actually tripped Kobe. COME ON
Adam G. Tampa, FL
How do you make a call there for Dwight what game were you watching?
Moderator (11:12 AM)
He's definitely made coach of the year Mike Brown look a little silly that is for sure!
marty ia [via mobile]
fans dont care too much about steroids, unless your name is barry bonds or roger clemens
Danny (Tonasket, Wa.)
Paul, since when has First Take chats become a dating service? Go to a dating online site.
Cindy Brunson (11:13 AM)
I agree Marty. Enough. Just go play and lets put the whole steroid era in our respective rear view mirrors!
mike indy
Stan Van Gundy looks alot lik Ron Jeremy doesnt he?
Mike Morgantown WV
Vote for Manny! I want to see him play!
Cindy Brunson (11:13 AM)
Eerily so! Not that I'm all that familiar with that partiuclar actors works, ha ha ha :)
Zach (Hattiesburg, MS)
quit crying scott, at least your posts are getting through. I seem to be dealing with overcoming the stereotype of ignorant hick from Mississippi. Am I too controversial for posting?
joshua highlands tx
Hakeem won his first ring without another superstar
Paul (Indianapolis, IN)
If Kobe was a Cav he would have hit more clutch shots through out his Cav's career and willed the Cavs to at least 2 titles.
Andrew (San Antonio Tx)
I am so tired of the Lebron Kobe comeircials. It's a good feeling knowing that the NBA won't get there finals match up.
anthony (jax,fl)
A game is 48mins right? It kills me when people say who should have won based on the first 3 quarters
james, chicago
i'm posting while on the "throne". is that wrong??
Moderator (11:15 AM)
its wrong to announce it
Tom (River North)
Does this need to be said every single day? There are thousands of posts. Not all of them get through. Quit your whining.
Moderator (11:16 AM)
every day Tom, every day
Aaron (Denver)
Mike indy, Classy and un-original.
Geoff (Syracuse NY)
Lets stop putting the blame on Lebron and place it on the shoulders of the Cavs coaching staff. Mike Brown obviously hasn't came up with a game plan for the Magic. He should probably start by having Lebron match up with Hedo since he was the runner up for defensive player of the year.
Brian (Michigan)
Joshua, that was just a dream. That never happened.
MIKE(NC)
IF KOBE WERE A CAV. THE SERIES WOULD BE TIED.
Brian (Michigan)
By "throne" do you mean that stupid chair Stuart Scott stole from LeBron?
dquarels5 (Memphis, Tn)
If kobe was on the cavs he would not lead them to a championship since he has never done it for his own team before!
Neil (Ft.Lauderdale)
Hey Skip, do you think Dwyane Wade would have closed out those 4th quarters if him and Lebron traded places? He has done it before in the NBA Finals!
Rob (Tallahassee, Fla.)
Zach (Hattiesburg, MS)= instead of trying to say something controversial, and coming off sounding like a hick, how about saying something interesting or unique or even funny???
Sean (Appleton,WI)
If Kobe were a Cav, Jay would have less grey hair, and the Cavs would have won at least 1 title, going on 2 this season because Kobe is the best closer in basketball, whereas LeBron will never learn how to close until he learns to stop shooting from outside.
Jay Crawford (11:17 AM)
love it sean!
Calvin W (Clearwater, FL)
Is Ramirez still suspeneded when the All-Star game is played?
Moderator (11:17 AM)
Remember Steve Martin's line in Trains, Planes and Automobiles: "...here's a good idea...have a point!"
Jay Crawford (11:18 AM)
nope. back july 3rd
Wesley (Memphis)
Manny should not be in the all-star game. Raul Ibanez needs more vote. I can't stand the Phil's but he deserves it.
Pavan (Atlanta)
All-Star voting starts very early I don't believe Manny will make it people hae common sense. If you miss 50 games in a season you are not an All-Star.
david (charlotte, nc)
james... more power to you man! magazines are so last millennium!
Trevor (warner robins, ga)
now Mike Brown can join Dirk Nowitzki in the "Give us our award back club"!
mike indy
Hey we stay classy San Diego
Mike Morgantown WV
If Kobe were a Cav, this series would be over...vote for Manny!
James Denver
I saw a story on local sports news how the Nuggets video guy found somehing like 17 times a Nuggets player was tripped what appeared to be on purpose last season. Is the NBA going to go back and give those plays flagorant fouls?
Robert ( Sacramento,CA )
don't count out the lakers and cavs the refs still have a lot to say about that
Adam G. Tampa, FL
I think the All Star game will be the best platform for Manny to come back and see what the bulk of fans really think of what he did.
Every post on First Take
Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron.
Joe, Colonia, NJ
NO Zach, you live in the same town as Farve!!! hahaha
Patrick (south haven, michigan)
Lets give some love to futbol today. The UEFA Cup. Messi is going to bring back to nou camp!!!!
Wil (Orlando, Fl)
If Kobe were on the Cavs they would have been low seed and first round fodder for the Celts or Magic.
Paul (West Palm Beach Fl.)
TMI James
Terry Atlanta
Here's something funny. Man-Ram is an All Star. Thats funny stuff
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Skip Lebron can't be better then MJ, MJ never lost in the Finals.
jeremy (kansas city, missouri)
hakeem won with clyde "the glide", cassel, horry, elie...that team was equipped to win. if the bulls had been around it would have been 8 straight for chitown but the rockets capitilized for a couple of years
Mike Morgantown WV
Fans should have the final call in ALL All Star Games, if it wasnt for the fans the athletes and the sports writers would not have their jobs! All Star games are for the fans and thus the fans should decide who plays!
PAT (DENTON TX)
IS ANYONE ELSE NOT QUESTIONING MIKE BROWN'S CHOICE TO GUARD RASHARD LEWIS WITH BEN WALLACE ON THAT BIG 3PT SHOT?
Calvin W (Clearwater, FL)
Soriano is only having an average season, why is nobody complaining about his ranking?
Matt (Summit, NJ)
There is something wrong with Manny Ramirez being 4th in All Star Voting when Raul Ibanez has 17 home-runs and 44 RBIs and hitting .347
Calvin W (Clearwater, FL)
People should be more outraged that Raul Ibanez is only sixth in the NL OF voting. Raul and Pujols are the 2 best players in the NL right now.
Chris (Ft. Walton Beach, FL)
I don't know that I would consider the lob to Dwight with 0.5 sec left a foul on Varejao, but the real question is what if it was LeBron going for the lob? I think a foul is called in that situation.
marty ia [via mobile]
so when things are going well lebron is nextcoming of jordan, yet when he runs up against better team kobe would be better?
Joe, Colonia, NJ
Here's a better line from that movie. "where are your hands? Between the pillows. Those aren't PILLOWS!!!
JASON
PIETRUS TRIPPED LEBRON AND PEOPLE DID NOT THINK IT WAS A FOUL? COME ON THAT WAS OBVIOUSLY A FOUL. AS FAR AS HOWARD AND VAREJAO, ANDY WAS THE ONE WITH POSITION. IF THERE WAS A FOUL IT WAS ON HOWARD FOR GOING OVER THE BACK.
Cindy Brunson (11:22 AM)
Good point Mike. But if MLB is up to the fans only then they have to let go of the winners league gets home field in the World Series!
Mark(manhattan ks)
The shock factor of "roids" is gone. If Bonds or Clemens were being exposed today rather than a few years ago, they would be able to bounce back just as easily as A-Fraud or not so Manny Ramirez
MIKE(NC)
JAY, REMIND SKIP THAT THE MAGIC SWEPT THE LAKERS THIS YEAR. CAVS WOULD NOT BE UP 3-1, SERIES BE TIED
Jay Crawford (11:23 AM)
oh i did!
Chris (Orlando, FL)
nobody cares about soccer in america
jeremy (kansas city, missouri)
speaking of baseball...have you all been following what mr. zack greinke has been doing this year?
MIKE(NC)
JAY, REMIND SKIP THAT THE MAGIC SWEPT THE LAKERS THIS YEAR, IF KOBE WERE A CAV THEY WOULD NOT BE UP 3-1
Scott (Colorado Springs)
ok mod. Seriously!? Wow you are going to kill this chat and it will probably go back to email interaction. I have been an avided watcher, but I think I would rather watch Fox News then to deal with this. "instead why don't you just write something evocotive, interesting, fair-minded, funny...and the post is free of charge"
Manny Ramirez (Mannywood, LA)
I would love to thank the fans for continuing to vote and support me. Adam G. Tampa you da man, Jay Crawford keep doing big things, Cleveland will pull it out and face LA. I will bring the Dodgers back to face Arod's Yankees in the fall classic! Love you guys!
Moderator (11:24 AM)
you guys think I'm being too hard on Scott?
Mike Morgantown WV
I agree Cindy! The All Star game should be an exhibition only! The home field is ridiculous and is only to avoid a tie (which could have happened again last year)! They need to revert back to the old days where the starters actually played the whole (or at least majority) of the game!
Wil (Orlando)
Hey Jay and Skip...how good would Ben Gordon look in a Cavs uniform next year in place of West? Also, Pachulia or Gortat in place of Z, which would be sad but he's past his prime.
Boycott First Take!!!
The Mod should be removed from First Take Chat! He is killing the interaction, he would rather let stupid commments in like this "Every post on First Take: Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, Lebron." and then bash someone for making a point about it. Good Game Mod!

Grenkie the only reason KC got a chance to win the central
mike indy
No turn it up a notch Scott was a bad little piggie lol
Hook (Southern Maryland)
It is surprising what Zack Greinke is doing. But people are acting like he is just getting good. He has always been good.
Josh (Pittsburgh, PA)
For the plays of the week: LeBron - INCOMPLETE. I can't give this a score until the series plays out. If the Cavs win then it's a 10. If the Cavs lose it's a 2. What good is a game winning shot if you lose the series? Syracuse Lacrosse - 10. Great goal in the clutch and it led to a Championship victory. The pass to the shooter was very underrated! Indians Comeback - 0. I just want to rub it in to Jay and fellow Cleveland fans. They won't be winning anything anytime soon. Not even play of the week.
Jay Crawford (11:26 AM)
ouch josh
Tyler (Chicago)
If Dwight Howard is not a Superstar, then what about 'Melo and Chris Paul? Superman has already accomplished more than both of them, so where do they stand?
jason (nebraska)
its my birthday
james, chicago
wil- i agree that gordon would be a good fit on the cavs.
Cindy Brunson (11:26 AM)
I'll agree with everything BUT the Yankees winning. When A-rod left the Mariners I put a voodoo curse on him to never win it all. My girlfriends and I were out to de-stress and over a pitcher of margarita's we put a hex on A-rod that has worked all this time!
Yiorgos (Morton Grove,IL)
I think Manny will be starting in the all star game the MLB actually promotes these big personalities
JD (Boston)
hammered in the chat or after work....????
Rusty ( Jackson, MIchigan)
I watched what Grienke did to my Tigers and have never seen anyone pitch like that before. I Know only Marichal had a better ERA in the first nine games of a season, puts Grienke in good company.
Aaron (Denver)
Wil (Orlando) Nice Call on Ben Gordon...Ice cold closer...Kinda like Bibby with C-Web in Sac-town.
James Denver
Did the NBA take back the rediculous technichal foul they called on Melo on Monday for patting his good friend Kobes chest and saying good play?
Robert (Auburn Univ.)
Leave the Mod alone. You don't like it go home and play with your dolls.
Pinero Miami
The lakers should trade bynum, gasol, and odom to the spurs for duncan...he would produce more than all 3 of them combined
anthony (jax,fl)
Jay don't you think the lakers would be able to pose different problems for the magic if bynum and gasol got it going at the same time?
Brian (Michigan)
I think Scott takes this way too seriously.
Jay Crawford (11:28 AM)
we may find out.
Paul (West Palm Beach Fl.)
Mod you do a good job I don't know why everyone is giving you the business today.
mike indy
How do you know the mod is a he. we should boycott people who change their name to get a post thru
Joe, Colonia, NJ
No, scott just got a free post....that wasn't funny by the way. say hi to Fox news for us!
Manny Ramirez (Mannywood, LA)
I would also like to thank Jose for bringing juice to baseball, Barry for making them cool, Mark for making them deniable, Big Papi for doing them with me, and all the drug addicts for voting for me..... and my wife if I get pregnant.
Kevin (Tuscaloosa, AL)
Props to Jemele for calling out the "enraged" baseball writers. Is their a bigger group of hypocrites out there? How many knew what was going on in the 90?s and looked the other way until it became a story a day the last few years? Voting for Manny just to rip the holier than thou of the baseball world.
Wil (Orlando)
Sorry...boycott but we love First take, do your thing moderator..99% of my mesages don't get though but damn I'm still tryin, not complaining...go watch Blue's Clues, you can participate there.

Michael Kim (11:33 AM)
Mike - Thanks. Those two were crazy. We actually had to edit that down from a 19 minute conversation to 8 minutes. They should do a reality show.
Rusty (Jackson, Michigan)
Come on Lebron's buzzer beater being a play of the month. If those are my choices then I have to go with the Grandy catch, much more exciting.
Mike Morgantown WV
Why isn't the Champion's League final not getting more love today?
San Antonio, TX
Pinero in Miami trust me when I say the Spurs dont want any worthless players like gasol and especially odom on their roster Duncan will NEVER wear those Laker onezee!
Dennis (Boston)
Does anyone else think the NBA is shaking in their boots, with the though of An Orlando and Denver Final? Neither of Their "chosen Ones " in the finals, and the ratings being terrible?
Michael Kim (11:34 AM)
Mike - Tommy Smyth is standing by from Rome.
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
Mike, that buzzer beater is the only thing standing between LeBron's puppet making it to air and being retired right now.
Chris (Bmore)
All the hype about Longaria and people are missing the best young CF in baseball in Adam Jones, what a stud
Trevor (warner robins, ga)
BRING BACK LIL' PENNY and he can bag on Lebron and Kobe. Who doesn't wanna hear Chris Rock rip on people?
Kenny, Bethlehem, PA
No intelligent posts are making it through... Seems pointless to try and post, even though I love this show. I think Skip is on the right track putting LeBron and his fans in their place day after day.
Aaron (Denver)
Now that Phil Hughes is pitching up to the hype. It's time for Joba to go back to the pen.
Wesley (Memphis)
Will.....If you say something worthwhile it will get posted. Nobody wants to hear some of the stupid things you say.
Dustin (Akron, OH)
sorry but the cavs are done

I'm going to vote for Malkin as the play of the month. I loved Granderson stealing the game from the Indians, but that third goal of Malkin's was a beauty.

I'm sure that was tough to say, Dustin from Akron...very big of you though

Greinke has always been good-what do you call that 5-17 record and a 5.80 ERA in 2005. Roy Halladay is better than Greinke.
mike indy
I hope Barca wins that game against Chelsea they stole with the extra time goal was awesome

John -- If LeBron and the Cavs come back to win this series, we may have to make him do jsut that.
Drew (Buffalo)
Barca is taking it home tonight.
Matt (South Bend, IN)
Barcelona's too clutch for Man. United today. Barca's destined to win this match.
John (MO)
Be serious now......is it really about intelligent posts or more like grab bag?
Moderator (11:39 AM)
little bit of both
Drew (Buffalo)
ManU stands no chance! Vive Barca!!!!
Brian (Michigan)
It also helps if you are really really good looking. I know you guys can't see me, but I think Cindy can sense my attractiveness.
Corey ((Atlanta))
I don't want to see Kobe vs. LeBron in the finals. I'm going to get my wish
Richard (New York)
You people are baiting the mods worse than Anderson Varejo is baiting Howard.
james, chicago
this soccer guy is magically delicious!
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Cristiano Ronaldo is going to be hard to contain up front! Man U wins 2-1
Tom (AZ)
Great pick with the "sorry but the cavs are done" comment Mr. Moderator. Really insightful and necessary comment, we all enjoyed it...NOT.
Mike Morgantown WV
Man U is about to win back to back!
Moderator (11:40 AM)
love the Wayne's World/Madonna reference Tom...
Wil (Orlando)
Honestly I think Denver is the biggest matchup problem for Orlando. They have lanky, athletic bigs and outstanding guards who won't miss 2/3 of their shot. With Anthony giving the Nuggets their own version of Lebron...Nuggets take Magic in 6
Joe, Colonia, NJ
hey, we're back to 2009! Tommy's mike is modern, not that shaver he was speaking into yesterday!
Wesley (Memphis)
Aaron. I think Joba should replace Rivera next year as closer. So I agree. Also Hughes needs to have some ups and downs. A Sabathia-Hughes 1-2 punch could result in Yankee titles in the years to come.
Michael Kim (11:42 AM)
Wil - I agree. Denver is a matchup nightmare for Orlando, but LA would have problems against the Magic.
Hook (Southern Maryland)
I mean Greinke has always had good stuff. When Greinke was having trouble with his anxiety (2005), he would pitch good when he wanted to. He was about to give up pitching.
John (MO)
Mike Indy clearly has the inside track to getting posted. Please....Mike tell me your secret! Does ESPN except credit cards?
Tyler (Chicago)
Between Eto'o, Henry, Iniesta, and of course Messi, who on Man U is going to stop the Barca attack?
Hook (Southern Maryland)
Chris, don't forget Nick Markakis. He is so under rated.
MIKE(NC)
WIL, ARE YOU REALLY FROM ORLANDO?
Cindy Brunson (11:43 AM)
How big of a credit limit do you have John? What's good?
Moderator (11:43 AM)
Easy hook, can't have too many Orioles being underrated...they're still in the cellar
Brian (Orlando, FL)
Play of the week, People agreeing with skip for once
Moderator (11:43 AM)
Scary huh?
marty ia [via mobile]
jordan made shots like lebrons all of the time. it wouldn't even register in his top 20
Jacob (Birmingham, AL)
Does anyone else think that the Yankees have a great chance at winning the AL east?
John (Temple, Pa)
I am confused by this chatter.
Mike Morgantown WV
Talent wise, nobody left matches up with LA. Denver is the final test. It will be a cake walk after this.
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
Posting is clearly random. Some days I get a lot posted. Others not so much. The choices are clearly random and that seems pretty fair to me.
Hook (Southern Maryland)
First Take, y'all should get Nick Markakis and Adam Jones on your show.
Moderator (11:44 AM)
we had Jones on earlier in the season
Paul(Warwick,RI)
More cheese-rolling,less soccer please!
Robert (Auburn Univ.)
Skip gets the play of the week right again!
Barbara (sacramento)
At least we have gotten a break from Bret Favre. Thank God
John, Austin
Boys, boys, boys, the key to getting posted is timing and patience. Watching the show and responding is important, being intelligent and sometimes funny is important but most importantly is don't anger the Moderator. It'll get you banned.
Moderator (11:45 AM)
not necessarily true John....but I'll let you guys figure it out
Cindy Brunson (11:45 AM)
Not until they get thier pitching straightened out. Need to see if Wang is back and Bruney is a key too. Posada should be back within the week. Dangerous yes, but I don't want the Yankees to win, not with admitted PED user A-rod in the line-up!
John, Austin
GEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZ Barb, we almost made it, way to blow it!!!!!
james, chicago
skip is the mean old man who's always yelling at kids to get off his yard!
Smokey (Detroit)
Yankees at Comerica Park wuld hit less than half the homers they have... Miguel Cabrera is a real player
Hook (Southern Maryland)
You have a good point there moderator. But let's say Markakis and Jones were on the Yankees, we would all know who they are and they would be on top for the ALL-STAR vote.
paul (west palm bch fl)
wow mathew is tougher then skip when it comes to grading a great play i give labrons an 8 cuse a 9 and the indians a 10
Drew (Buffalo)
Fact: commenting about getting a break from Brett Favre ends the said break you are praising....
Zach (Hattiesburg, MS)
What's the point in telling people to vote for play of the week on here if its not going to be incorporated? Syr wins it easy.
Cindy Brunson (11:47 AM)
Duh Smokey -- that's because there is no jet stream for hits to take flight on. The house that George Built is a joke. I love Jeter but he's got 5 opposite field hr's this season -- COME ON!
Moderator (11:47 AM)
sorry Zach, you got a point, we usually get one chatter in on each play, this week it was just the Indians play
Yiorgos (Morton Grove,IL)
SKIP CHASING THE CHEESE WHEEL LOL
Wil (Orlando)
Mike...I'm from NE Ohio, in Orlando for school...what I have noticed is that the Magic fans only care when they do something exciting. At one one point the Magic went up by 5 and the fans just sat there silently. Orlando fans do not really care that much..everyone here is from somewhere else.
Cindy Brunson (11:48 AM)
Yeah that got me too. LOL!
John (Temple, Pa)
This is like a Seinfeld episode.
marty ia [via mobile]
i think moderator has been completely fair. thousands of posts come up, only few get through. just keep trying
brian (rochester, ny)
The "great finishes" poll is unfortunately going to come down to a poplularity contest. Where Lebron's buzzer beater was exciting to watch, it barely rattled in and decided only 1 game in the sieries. The Indains comeback is unreal however, a lot of that come back was walks due to bad pitching. The S.U. lax game was FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP THE WHOLE BALL OF WAX! Cornell had that game locked up and lost in the blink of an eye. Both teams played champs, what a game! That is your "great finish" just for what they were playing for. But as i said Unfortuneatly "the fastest game on two feet" will not win due to popularity.
Moderator (11:49 AM)
whoa, brian from Rochester, why don't you just start your post with ..."first the earth cooled, then the dinosours came...then..."
Aaron (Denver)
How does Wisconsin not have an american version of this Cheese race with a Beer festival...
Brian (Michigan)
If this was like a Seinfeld episode I wouldn't be watching.
james, chicago
mod- do any of our posts amuse you??
Jay Crawford (11:50 AM)
some do
John (Temple, Pa)
Did it seem that there were more Phillie fans then Yankee fans in that stadium this past weekend?
Michael Kim (11:51 AM)
John- People were saying that coming off the weekend.
Chris (Orlando, FL)
Poker isnt a sport. Its boring to watch on TV.
Mike Morgantown WV
Phil Hellmuth??? First Take must be hurting for guests!
Hook (Southern Maryland)
The Indians come back was 9.5 since a come back like that hasn't happened in over 100 years. LeBron gets a 8 only because it looks like that shot won't mean a thing. And the Syracuse come back gets a 10 really because of Cornell not throwing the ball down field so they would win and turning it over for a Cuse score with 4 seconds left.
Aaron (Denver)
Brian (Rochester) not to mention if the Cuse wins...we can use "They Buzzed the Onion Bag!" for a National Championship.
marty ia [via mobile]
hellmuth is great poker player. his antics are over the top but it is great entertainment
paul (west palm bch fl)
Phil is a clown. I will see ya next week in Vegas Phil
Tom (River North)
Poker? What's next? Chess?
james, chicago
phi's the macenroe of poker. what a creep!
jordan
moderator your the one who let brians novel through
John (Austin)
Is Phill Hellmuth Skip's brother, they are very similar with their rants.
Drew (Buffalo)
Poker is absolutely not a sport.
Kevin (Tuscaloosa, AL)
Cindy - Where exactly do you think most of Jeters homeruns have been hit? He has always been an oppo guy.
Wil (Orlando)
I love watching poker on TV, actually a very good way to learn some strategy...Phil needs to learn to adjust and quit complaining about the influx of amateurs
paul (west palm bch fl)
I bluffed Phil out of a monster pot a few years ago and loved every minute of it.
Cindy Brunson (11:55 AM)
Thanks for letting me play in your First Take Sandbox. Have a great Wednesday everybody!
Kenny, Bethlehem, PA
LeBron's shot = 5. It was a 3 pointer. He drills half court shots underhanded all the time. Indians come back a 9 they did better against Seattle, Lacrosse = 10. Championship comeback.
mark(manhattan ks)
If poker is a sport so is channel surfing!!!!
Wesley (Memphis)
Brian don't hate on Seinfeld. Highest rated sitcom in TV history for a reason. Best show ever.
Aaron (Denver)
Howard is a Marketing Superstar but I agree with Jamele not quite a Superstar on court.
Anthony (Orlando FL)
How can Dwight not be a superstar, he was the leading vote getter in the allstar game right?? 21 an 14 avg in the reg season hows that not mvp
Smokey (Detroit)
Sport/game
fred
If dwight adds a face up jump shot he will me a monster
Yiorgos (Morton Grove,IL)
Dwight Howard is not a superstar yet, he needs to be more of an offensive force
Danny (Tonasket, Wa.)
Here's a thought---- for a weird change of pace, let Skip moderate First and Ten with Jay and Dana debating.
Darryl (Hinesville, GA)
Dwight Howard is a star but not a superstar. A superstar demands double teams all the time. I don't know if you can say that you have to double team Dwight every night.
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
I don't think moderation is one of Skip's strong points, Danny. lol
Calvin W (Clearwater, FL)
Sorry Wesley, M*A*S*H was better than Seinfeld.
Moderator (11:59 AM)
Nice, Calvin...all together now..Frank Burns eats worms...
Wil (Orlando)
if Skip moderated the debate the questions would range from "Why does Lebron stink?" to "why does T.O. stink?" to "Why is cycling not a sport?"
Aaron (Denver)
Cheers was better than both.
Kenny, Bethlehem, PA
As a young buck, I'd take Seinfeld. Only show to ever make me laugh throughout the entire show, every episode.
Joe (Philly)
Cheers was not better then M*A*S*H*, remember when Hawkeye got into the jeep and tried to pull the porta potty all the way to the other side of Korea because he thought it would stop the war? That's a classic
