Dana Jacobson (9:43 AM)
good morning folks. happy tuesday!
Dylan Jacobsen (Dutch Harbor, alaska)
the derrick rose story could have been prevented if the NBA had still allowed high schoolers to apply for the draft. In a country where our government sends 18 year olds over to iraq on a mission for WMD's that arent there, we still cant have the right to make money for their families in the NBA.
Jay Crawford (9:43 AM)
good morning room!!!! happy tuesday.
Chris (Deltona, FL)
I watch ESPN First Take every morning and I must say that listening to Skip Bayless talk about King James is like nails on a chalk board, it's EAR PIERCING!!!! Skip continues to say how LeBron didn't show up in the Orlando Series and is not a winner when the reality is that the Cavaliers TEAM NOT LeBron didn't show up. LeBron avg, 38pts, 8 boards and 8 assists in this series while the rest of his so called supporting cast couldn't put the ball in the basket if they were all 7'8" and standing right next to it. I dream of the day that King James makes Skip look like the horrible analyst that he is and wins multiple championships because when it's all said and done, LeBron will have led his team whichever team it may be to more championships than the so called "Best Finisher in Basketball", because we all know who gave him his first 3 rings.
Garcia, Portsmouth, VA
Why all the talk about Lebron playing with a bunch of nobody's, isnt Cleveland the same team that led the NBA in wins and finished with the best record? If they were good enough to do that during the season then they should have been good enough to do it in the playoffs. Mike Brown is the reason they lost, it is time for a change in Cleveland.
Jared Gleaton Bartlesville Oklahoma
Mo Williams is not enough of a caliber player to make bold statements about winning. He should know that the Cavilers were NOT the best team in the NBA this year. Lebron James was the best team in the NBA. It should be noted that just because a team has the best record that does not make them the best team in a league (e.g., Titans, Cavilers, Devil Rays, Lakers, Magic ect.)
Jay Crawford (9:45 AM)
great point jared. great teams win in big spots. period.
Michael (KY)
Good Morning Dana and Jay!!
Jay Crawford (9:45 AM)
morning michael. hope all is well in the bluegrass state!
Dana Jacobson (9:45 AM)
Dylan, on the NBA's age requirement...kind of like the NFL's deal with no underclassmen, technically these organizations have the right to have "job requirements" like some empoloyers require a certain amount of college. It may not seem fair to you but it is their organization and they feel to compete this is the necessary thing. Remember for all the kobe/lebons there are the guys who came in from hs, never matured and floundered. some left with no money, no career. If the league feels that one extra year away may change that, they have the right.
Jared Gleaton Bartlesville Oklahoma
I don't understand why everyone is saying Orlando is going to get pummeled by the Laker's. Isn't this the same Orlando team that swept them in the regular season? The same team that matches up well with them? The same team that shows unmatched fortitude throughout the playoffs? What doe the Magic need to do to get some respect.
Matt from Tampa
Lebron is a sore loser... Wade or Kobe would have never walked off about afer losing in the playoffs. He's the face of the franchise and that was very childish, he looked like Queen James when he did that!
Jay Crawford (9:48 AM)
agreed matt!
Chris Pomona,CA
Why is everyone saying that lebron needs help they won 66 games in the reg season. Dont you think this looks like Kobe Bryant #8 without all the hype everyone is making excuses for lebron. when he avgs 40 a playoff series and loses its greatness and he needs help but when KB#8 did it it was selfsihness i dont get it.
Jared Gleaton Bartlesville Oklahoma
Isn't it selfish on Lebron James' part to not only leave his team mates high and dry after the game to answer for their over rated, over hyped, season, and playoff performance by leaving after the loss in Orlando? Isn't it also selfish on James' part to take away from the Magic's victory by storming out like a spoil sport and in a sense putting the main story and spotlight on him rather then giving the Magic their proper respect and glory. Skip is right about one thing and that is he is not a King but rather a prince and I'm going to take it one step further Princess Lebrat James. For shame on his majesty.
Gary D. Dayton, Ohio
LeBron(and the Cavs too I guess)got put out the playoffs so I can't wait to see how badly "Trip" Bayless disservices The King today. Ask Skip did he get his invitation to the Annual Player Haters' Ball! hahaha!
Dana Jacobson (9:48 AM)
jameer nelson a factor - even if he's back at what strength and he was a part of the reg season meetings. plus, they're the underdog, plain and simple. relish it instead of hating it...especially if they win.. lakers have been here b/f, just last year...magic obviously this magic crew hasn't
mike - lake tahoe
Can Nike make a puppet of Skip? I would love to see what they come up with!!
Dana Jacobson (9:46 AM)
mike i just want to know who gets to be the puppet master then.
Jared Gleaton Bartlesville Oklahoma
Hey skip can you give some love to the Orlando Magic because no one else seems to have any!
Dana Jacobson (9:47 AM)
jared, relish the underdog role, really. when you shock the world it's so much more fun
Charles Dayton, Ohio
Good Morning Dana and Jay Do you guys think that the NBA rule change has anything to do with the Derrick Rose thing. The fact of the matter is he cheated, he knows he cheated and unfortuantely thru no fault and I am taking Memphis word for it which Memphis is not like the most upstanding University in history i.e. Keith Lee anyway they did not. Do you guys know if it is even possible for a University to not know someone's SAT issues before the start classes?
Dana Jacobson (9:54 AM)
charles the nba rule change was in place long before rose. by know sat issues what do you mean?

GOOD MORNING FIRST TAKE
Billy Ocean (The 80's)
Dana, get out of my dreams get into my car!
Dana Jacobson (10:03 AM)
ahhh the 80s memories
Brandon (Goldsboro N.C.)
Hey Dana how do you see the tough A.L. east shaping up?
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
I think VY's mom wrote that speech for him.
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Vince Young should go try out for the Redskins.
Dana Jacobson (10:04 AM)
brandon i hate predicting things but if i do think it'll be yankees or red sox and i'll lean red sox right now. i hope toronto stays in it though great story
lawrence stowe vt
If vince was good enough to start he would...
Dana Jacobson (10:04 AM)
lawrence great point
ALAN(TAMPA BAY)
Vince Young is a sorry excuse for a leader and now he has got demands. Are you kidding me? A year ago he was crying and ready to commit suicide.
Anthony (San Antonio, TX)
Good Morning Jay and Dana, Will ESPN make a commercial of Lebron storming out of your studio cuz his name did not get mentioned on Sportscenter....
Moderator (10:05 AM)
good move or bad if the Magic bring back Jameer Nelson for the Finals?
Dylan Jacobsen (Dutch Harbor, alaska)
The titans organization doesnt seem to like the idea of vince young being their future as much anymore. with all the teams out there that need decent qbs, if the titans dont want him they need to let him have a chance with someone else
Matt (Satellite Beach, FL)
I say let Young go to where he can play. It is clear that the Titans don't want him as the starting QB.
candace kc,mo
vince young is overrated and reggie bush is to. all that free money those men are getting. again skip is right.
DONALD-BAYONNE NJ
VINCE YOUNG IS JUST SHOWING THAT HE WANTS TO PLAY AND HE DESERVES A SHOT. I FEEL VINCE YOUNG IS FEELING BETRAYED
Selena (Louisiana)
Good Morning Folks. Vince Young, more minutes? Yeah maybe in college where he ruled. What has he done since?
damion.ny
vincey youngin it up.
candace kc,mo
young lost his job to an old man. that's his problem.
Anthony (San Antonio, TX)
I'm a big fan of Vince Young since his days at Texas and I can understand his frustration with the team but he needs to understand that he was the starter but he blew it when he couldn't take the pressure and handle himself right....He needs to be patient, his time will come again..
Adam G. Tampa, FL
I love Jameer's game, but there is too much chemistry (Madea goes to jail voice) going on in Orlando to mess with right now.
john- pc bch,fl
Vince Young,Plax Burress, thay guy from the Jets, & Michael Vick-start their own team....any thoughts?
Brian (Michigan)
Bad move. All they might end up accomplishing is ruining the team's chemistry. Plus chance of further injury, the Magic don't need their own Gilbert Arenas situation.
DONALD-BAYONNE NJ
BAD MOVE TO BRING NELSON BACK. TEAM CHEMESTRY WILL BE SHAKEN. IF HE IS BROUGHT BACK PLAY A LIMITED ROLE OFF THE BENCH. START ALSTON
Aaron (Denver)
Mod good move...if he is just giving 15 or so minutes off the bench to spark the 2nd team without Howard. The starting lineup's Chemistry is not something to mess with at this point.
candace kc,mo
i believe in magic. if they play them like they played cleveland they will the ship.
Adam G. Tampa, FL
WE WANT JAMEER WE WANT JAMEER WE WANT JAMEER
ALAN(TAMPA BAY)
Im a big time JETS fan and I wouldnt want Vince Young backing up my quarterback Mark Sanchez.
Aaron (Denver)
How bad does Mario Williams look now in Houston?...
Charles (Briarcliff, NY)
Jeff Fisher is a good coach, and he is undoubtedly testing Vince Young with adversity. It comes down to who can win big game: Kerry Collins doesn't show up (see Giants vs. Ravens Super Bowl) Vince Young is a proven winner from college, and when motivated can lead and carry his team! The Titans can't play the same game they played last year, they're losing Haynesworth! They need excitement and spark in their offense, and that's Vince Young.
DONALD BAYONNE, NJ
HAVE NELSON COME OFF BENCH. KEEP TEAM CHEMESTRY
Adam (Grand Rapids, MI)
Of course you bring Nelson back, you always put your best players on the court
Travis (Columbus, OH)
I can't wait to see what happens with the team after Young's comments. They embraced Collins as their leader, and if something happens to him, will they embrace Young?
DONALD BAYONNE NJ
WHY NOT PUT VINCE YOUNG IN THE WILDCAT. HE HAS THE SKILL SET. PLAY 2 QB'S THIS SEASON. I KNOW THAT DOES NOT WORK IN THE NFL. BUT THEY SAID THE SINGLE WING SPREAD (THE WILDCAT) WOULDN'T WORK
Dylan Jacobsen (Dutch Harbor, alaska)
if Jameer can play, they should bring him off the bench and let raefer start. give him anthony johnsons minutes which are about 10-12 a night.
Matt (Satellite Beach, FL)
He is just going to dress and sit on the bench. If he is starting or plays significant time that will be a terrible move by Van Gundy. But Nelson is not going to play enough to effect anything.
Donnie (Buffalo,ny)
Stan knows he should leave rotations alone and another thing other than this year do you guys really think jameer is really that good?
damion.ny
I remember jameer and west st joseph days, man they were good together
john- pc bch,fl
SVG has the reins, on Jameer Nelson-his call wheather he pulls th trigger...& if it doesn't work, when to bail.
Aaron (Denver)
Medically what are the possibilities of making the shoulder injury worse, for Jameer?
Adam G. Tampa, FL
I wanted to see Jameer against Delonte maybe next year.
Michael Cookstown, New Jersey
On Thursday of this week the NBA Finals & NHL Finals are on at the same time. What do you watch?
Donnie (Buffalo,ny)
vince young can come to buffalo with to now that is a hit
Lance (New York, N.Y.)
Jameer Nelson is a nice addition but ultimately won't determine the NBA Finals. Between D-Ho, Rashard, and Hedo and Kobe, Gasol, and Odom, the better-playing group will win the title, regardless of what Jameer Nelson (a regular-season wonder) does.
Charles (Briarcliff, NY)
I think just the idea of Jameer Nelson being in the game will be a burden on the Lakers, and an added pressure. It will also be an emotional lift to the magic, so if he can produce it's a bonus...
DONALD-NJ
ALAN I LOVE THE DOLPHINS WE WILL WIN THE AFC EAST THIS YEAR. I LOVE THE JETS HAVE NO VETERAN QB. ON LESS TEAM WE HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT. RYAN SHOULD HAVE SIGN JOURNEY-MAN. LIKE GARCIA, OR ROSSENFALS
Don Longview Texas
If Vince is traded, that will be the worst mistake the Titans have made. Vince is a definate winner and will be taken quickly by any team with wisdom.
john- pc bch,fl
Having been a coach (amateur) I NEVER turned down talent- if it gives your bench depth you'd be an idiot not to exploit it.
ALAN(TAMPA BAY)
No way should the Magic bring back Nelson. This isnt the same Magic team that played the Lakers in the regular season. They're better. I personally think they will do just fine against the Lakers without him.
Brett
Alston is an average shooter at best...Jameer on the other hand...lights out.
Umor (Detroit)
Vince Young, Grow up. Your best chance to win a title is with the titans. Hard running. Always one of the top D's. Learn from Kerry.
Travis (Columbus, OH)
Houston would look like geniuses, Aaron... if they could get Houston moving in the right direction.
lawrence stowe vt
I think Vangundy knows they got thru a weaker eastern conference and will need something extra to beat a battle proven lakers.
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
Welcome back to the old Skip Bayless. After a nice string of making sense last week, its great to see the tried and true confused Skip back. He is dead wrong on Nelson and blowing his return completely out of proportion. At best, if he plays, he'll only be playing 10 minutes a game. Probably enough to give Alston a break and cause a little confusion for the Lakers. He won't mess up the squad like Skip thinks.
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
Donald: Please turn off your caps lock.
Mike G (El Paso)
I like Vince...he should play for the Boston Red Sox...
Michael Kim (10:20 AM)
Good morning everyone...

why is it that the chat is not on the front page? is there a way to get it on that thing? you should post this, some other people may be having this problem
Dana Jacobson (10:23 AM)
phillip thats beyone us, don't know sorry
Aaron (Denver)
Travis...with Williams, Demeco Ryans Slaton and a healthy Andre Johnson, the Texans have moved in the right direction

Hey Dana I am going to the Lions camp tomorrow, is there anything I should ask about?
Dana Jacobson (10:23 AM)

Umor (Detroit)
Morning DJ and crew. Porcello, Verlander,Grandy,Inge. How about them Tigers.

PENGUINS JUST DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TO WIN THE SERIES. WINGS JUST TOO DEEP
Dana Jacobson (10:26 AM)
donald they aren't deep but if malkin and crosby start scoring - this could make a difference.
T.J. (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
I know skip is not a hockey fan but can someone see if he'll "book it" for the wings in 6?
Dana Jacobson (10:27 AM)
tj i prefer skip not to pick my teams...they tend to lose when he does.
Reggie Orlando, Fl
is Skip really on Twitter?
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Scoop Orlando has a chip on their shoulder, trust me they are not just happy to be here.
Dana Jacobson (10:27 AM)
yes something about the real skip bayless

How about them Yankees without making an error?
Moderator (10:28 AM)
we're talking about the offense at Yankee STadium in 2nd down, Mike...thats overshadowing the errorless streak
T.J. (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
What about a Melrose "Mullet Puppet"
Moderator (10:28 AM)
not a bad idea, TJ
Travis (Columbus, OH)
"Chip on his shoulder" has to be one of the most overused, cliche sayings in sports.
Nick (Akron Ohio)
Yes, his Tweets are some of the best ive subscribed too. Kudos to Skip for getting a Twitter
Michael Kim (10:28 AM)
If he's able to contribute, activate Nelson. How he reacts to game-like conditions and situations will determine if he plays more minutes as the series progresses. Just because he's active doesn't mean he has to play.
Moderator (10:29 AM)
nick, glad you're enjoying him. i for one can't get into twitter, sorry.
Scott (Colorado Springs)
When the fourth line for the Wings are scoring that is a bad sign for the Penguins.
Dana Jacobson (10:30 AM)
scott, barry was just talking about this but the wings have always had that kind of depth or at least over the last decade. it's been the key to their success.
john- pc bch,fl

Cedric (Memphis)
Everybody keeps calling Jameer Nelson a lights out shooter. When did this happen? Of course his game got a little better this season before the injury, but come on with the craziness. Rafer Alston is just as good if not a better shooter and is pretty quick and a savvy point guard. I remember two years ago nobody felt Jameer would even be playing in the league by now.
Nick (Akron, Ohio)
I was at the Tribe game last night. Saw Joba's dive right in front of me. I was very impressed. Those rally midges need TO GO though.
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
How about Dana & Jay puppets right before the Michigan/Ohio State game this Fall?
Dana Jacobson (10:31 AM)
jonathan, book it
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
The Titans have a major dilemma on their hands that they need to solve asap. I think Vince Young could be their future but he won't beat out Collins for the starting job. He'll end out being a distraction and problem for the team. Here's a proposed solution: how about trading Vince Young to the Lions for Stafford? That solves everybody's problems.
Adam G. Tampa, FL
How bout them Yankees pitching staff really coming around. Took care of Jay C's Indians last night Joba with the outstanding performance.
Scott (Colorado Springs)
Dana I am on vacation for a few weeks and I was able to get a tour of practice for the Lions tomorrow. So I am pretty excited about it. I might even buy a new jeresy with the new logo.
Reggie Orlando, Fl
By Jameers reaction it does seem like mind games. If he is ready to go then yes it would be a great idea given limited minutes. It keeps the ball moving and disrupts L.A half court defense with him and skip keeping the ball moving.
Dana Jacobson (10:31 AM)
scott - enjoy!
DONALD NJ
YANKS STREAK IS AMAZING THEY WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE HR THING IN THE OFF-SEASON. FIX THE WIND DYNAMICS IN THE STADIUM. FOR ALL THAT MONEY THEY SHOULD HAVE GOT A WARRANTY
Moderator (10:33 AM)
if Phil Jackson passes Red Auerbach for the most NBA titles, is he the greatest coach of all time?
Joey Crawford (Chat Ref)
Technical foul on Cedric for calling Rafer Alston as good a shooter as Jameer Nelson. Alston has been a poor shooter his entire career. If he don't agree with me we're stepping outside.
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
Dana: Just be thankful that the Mr. Hyde version of Fleury has appeared. His biggest issue since coming to the NHL has been his inconsistency. He's picked a bad time to play poor net.
Dana Jacobson (10:34 AM)
johnny he got stronger at home last year too. i love my wings but i know pittsburgh is better than they're playing
Brian (Michigan)
Ummm no way I would trade Stafford for Vince Young.
Dana Jacobson (10:35 AM)
brian, with you on that.
Darryll (Brooklyn, NY)
if jordan would have won a ring with a big man would kobe still have to win a ring with out shaq since kobe wants to be mike and we keep comparing him to mike
Dana Jacobson (10:35 AM)
darryl i dont think its the issue of which player/position is the "sidekick". thing is while shaq was in LA he was in his prime and was THE man, kobe was considered secondary. Mike was THE man...
Corie (Jacksonville, FL)
Yankees will win their division, just wait until A-Rod gets back into form.
Donnie (Buffalo,ny)
I thought that was a Skip puppet.
hardik ( tulsa oklahoma)
phil jackson is already the greatest coach of all time.
Travis (Columbus, OH)
*shivers* College football?! Where?! I need my fix man!!
ALAN(TAMPA BAY)
WHEN IS THE LAST TIME NELSON EVEN PRACTICED???
Dana Jacobson (10:37 AM)
alan, not sure. dont think he's done any real practice yet...which would date it back to february
Chris Ward(Orando, Fl)
Yea Rafer has always been a poor shooter. Most people dont realize how good of a player Jameer is because they dont watch the Magic during the season. They see Rafer have a good few games in the playoffs. I personally would love to Jameer back in the rotation. I think that just his presence on the court presents a threat to the Lakers.
Dana Jacobson (10:38 AM)
chris problem is that he hasn't been playing though. shooting touch is a timing thing, needs to get his feet back under him too. not saying he can't have an impact but i'd be shocked if he was the guy he was against LA in the reg season.
Brett (Charleston, WV)
What is that old saying? The numbers don't lie when referring to Jackson.
kj (omaha,ne [via mobile]
Why is everyone discounting the importance of trevor ariza on the finals series? When the magic played l.a. Radmonivic was there starter.
Dana Jacobson (10:38 AM)
kj not sure who's discounting it...if they are they weren't listening to chris mannix about 30 mins ago who talked about his importance
Donnie (Buffalo,ny)
Dana, whqt did you think of Lebron's yankee hat the other day?
Dana Jacobson (10:40 AM)
donnie i have no problem with it. he's worn it b/f, he's said he's a yankees fan b/f. he grew up when the yanks were THE team to love. Just b/c he's in cleveland doesn't mean he has to love the indians or wear an indians hat. I dont think it was a subtle sign. I dont think he's necessarily staying but the hat was not a symbol or a dig
john mr 911 (miami, fl)
i think shaq should go play for the cavs and get lebron his ring.= kobe, wade, lebron
Dana Jacobson (10:40 AM)
john, sadly i dont think shaq would necessarily guarantee that anymore.
DONALD NJ
DANA HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT BIG TEN GETTING ANOTHER TEAM? CONFERENCE CHAMP. GAME. GOOD MOVE. MICH-OSU IS USUALLY AROUND TURKEY DAY. AND THEN THE BIG TEN IS DONE. HASN'T THAT HELPED THE BUCKEYS MAKE THE NAT CHAMP GAME A FEW TIMES.
John, Austin
How about ARod's impact on the lineup. Big Tex had the best statistical month for a Yankee since The Mick. Not a coincidence.
Michael Kim (10:41 AM)
One other thing on why the Magic should activate Nelson: Give the Lakers one more potential weapon that requires time and effort in preparation.
J(SPRINGFIELD MA)
phil jackson is definetly a hall a fame coach but not best ever . he only won rings when he had the best teams in the league . the BULLS AND SHAQ AND KOBE.
Aaron (Denver)
Who needs Roids when you have a Jet Stream...
Dana Jacobson (10:42 AM)
donald, don't want one...and it's getting pretty clear the conference doesn't support one. the whole conf championship game is interesting b/c the layoff sucks. BUT i like the tradition of um-osu as the final game. its what i grew up on
john- pc bch,fl
Mod- if PJ passes Red, the answer is a resounding NO! Better numbers don't make you a better coach/player. Some stats are based solely on longevity.
J(SPRINGFIELD MA)
SHAQ DID NOT EVEN GET WADE A RING . WADE GOT SHAQ HIS LAST RING
Umor (Detroit)
Ah Chip Bayless still sticking with the sox and minn.
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
Brian...we'll check back with you in a few years to see how Stafford stats and performance looks like. I bet you they won't be as good as Vince Young (though its not like Young is lighting it up either). I bet you then you'll be looking to get rid of him faster than Joey Harrington.
marty ia [via mobile]
a rod won't break homerun record, they'll figure a way to slow down homers next year. find a way to get rid of wind tunnels
Eric (Las Vegas, NV)
I think a little league teenager could slam 90 HR's at Yankee's Stadium.
Joel (North Carolina)
Yankee stadium is built to entertain fans period, more homeruns, more fans! Little physics and a good engineer and money in the pocket for tickets!
marty ia [via mobile]
will phil jackson go down as greatest coach of all time if he wins finals?
Dana Jacobson (10:43 AM)
jonathan, hey may not pan out. but you invested in him. see it through at this point. vince young today is not worth the overall top pick and that's what you're saying he is. too much uncertainty with him at this point
Aaron (Denver)
J(Springfield) doesn't the "Best team in the League" typically win the championship?...Look at Red's teams, your argument holds true for him too.
Charles (Briarcliff, NY)
There is absolutely NO way that Boston is better than the Yankees. Position by position, there's is not one. NOT ONE player I like better from the Red Sox than the Yankees... Go position by position, who is better on the Red Sox than the Yankees? Maybe Pedroia over Cano, but even that's close. I'd also grant JD Drew over Swisher and maybe Ellsbury over Gardner/Melky... The Yankees pitching staff is better than Red Sox! CC Sabathia>Beckett, Mo>Papelbon, Burnett>Lester, Pettite>Wakefield... Your thoughts?
Moderator (10:44 AM)
let me guess, Yankee fan Charles?
Corie (Jacksonville, FL)
Phil took those teams to championships in his 2nd year with the Bulls and 1st year with the Lakers. Red had Bill Russell and Bob Cousy.
Selena (Louisiana)
Phil may have more rings, but I wouldn't call him the greatest. Just a good coach who coached talented players.
Largo ,FL
Who cares about the yankees ... lets talk about the Oakland A's !!!!!
T.J. (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Phil coaches in the era of free agency. Red kept his team in tact for 100 years. If Phil is'nt the best its probably Poppovich
Aaron (Denver)
They better figure the jetstream out, young free agent pitchers will start to avoid the Bronx.
Jay Crawford (10:46 AM)

hardik ( tulsa oklahoma)
its a sad day wen a slugger has more home runs than a team has wins.
Jay Crawford (10:46 AM)
HARD TO BELIEVE EH HARDIK?
Eric (Las Vegas, NV)
I think the Yankee's will win their division but they win a world series as long as they have A-fraud on their roster.
Adam (Grand Rapids, MI)
The League is saying the same thing the officials do...if you're a superstar it doesn't matter what you do
Michael Kim (10:46 AM)
Marty... I tend to side with Red Auerbach with no disrespect for Phil. Red built the Celtics dynasty from the ground. He was also a pioneer in that he was the one who put an all-black starting five on the floor and made Bill Russell the first black player-coach.
John, Austin
The Watch is on: Adrian Gonzalez 21 hrs. The Nats 13 wins. Who gets to 50 first?
Michael Kim (10:49 AM)
That's funny, John in Austin. I think the Nats will get there first. Adrian Gonzalez plays in a brutal offensive park AND he has no protection. More teams will likely choose to pitch around him if he gets anywhere close to 50.
Aaron (Denver)
Michael Kim...I would argue coaching is much tougher today than was in Red's hayday. Free Agency and ego were far less prominent in those days, as the league had yet to be defined as a "Player's League" back then.
Michael Kim (10:52 AM)
Aaron -- I hear you... There is no simple comparison or answer. They are both great. I just was weighing in on my personal preference. Red made some unpopular moves in his day that Phil simply didn't have to deal with.
mr911 (miami, fl)
the only way lebron signs a longterm contract with the cavs is if they sign skip to keep him happy

How far would a golf ball travel out of yankee stadium?
Dana Jacobson (10:52 AM)

Jay Crawford (10:52 AM)
will! ha!! 500 yards
Anthony San Antonio,TX)
Phil is a good coach. I dont think he is a great coach. He just had great talent around him. Take away MJ, Scottie, Shaq, & Kobe and tell me how many rings Phil has? I will say NONE!
Dana Jacobson (10:53 AM)
anthony i hear that argument a lot but those players had other coaches around them that couldnt get them a title - why not?
hardik (tulsa oklahoma)
no the nats are pathetic michael gonzalez will get to fifty first
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
I hear you Dana about Young but the problems with him has nothing to do with his physical abilities. He's still a great talent. All he needs is to get his head on straight. To me that's the lesser of two evils (mental v. physical) to fix. Stafford is still a question mark regardless of what pick he was in the draft. At best, its a 50/50 crap shoot on him (Stafford).
Donnie (Buffalo,ny)
yeah red was great he revolutionized the game
Brett (Charleston, WV)
Just because someone is given the best talent or team doesn't mean that it equals a championship. Thats been proven. Could Red Auerbach handle players or a situation like a Shaq-Kobe fiasco?
Dana Jacobson (10:54 AM)
jonathan - totally disagree. getting someone's head on straight way too tough for a team totally rebuilding. he's your QB, your leader. no shot
Michael Kim (10:55 AM)
Brett - you ask a good question. Players simply didn't have much power back in his day, so it's not known how he would react to that situation. But good coaches always adjust to times, situations, etc. Or they get out.
Nick (Akron Ohio)
Michael Kim! Big Fan. Just saying hey. Great job on the show today!
Brian (Michigan)
We already know Vince Young is not a quality NFL starting quarterback I'd rather give anybody else a try.
Charles (Briarcliff, NY)
The difference this year for the Yankees is CC and CC. They have a bonafide ace in Sabathia, and they have better Chemistry and Coaching. They are flat-out having fun playing, and rolling on all cylinders.
john- pc bch,fl
Can baseball still BE embarrassed,Kevin?
Brian (Michigan)
Not to mention Vince Young is nowhere near an NFL quality passer. He totally depends on his legs and as you've already seen it is hard to survive a season that way.
Chris Ward(Orando, Fl)
Dana, Oh no way is he the from the regular season. What i mean by his presence presents a threat is that with Jameer on the court it forces L.A. to pay attention to another shooter. With A. Johnson in the game L.A will double Dwight for often than they will with Jameer in the game. L.A. wont sag off of Jameer the way teams do Johnson. You make a great point with shooting being about timing but i know for a fact that Jameer has been getting plenty of shots up lately. If the Lakers decide to leave Jameer open im pretty sure he is a good enough shooter to knock down open jumpers.
Anthony (San Antonio, TX)
True Dana but those coaches didn't have that talent around them with those players. Phil is good. Look how fast he left the Bulls when MJ retired he knew he had to move fast!
Dana Jacobson (10:58 AM)
anthony doug collins was there b/f phil del harris b/f phil in la
Dana Jacobson (10:58 AM)
they ahd the players just not the ability
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
I'm a little confused on what Kevin from the NY Post said about Manny. How is it an embarressment to MLB for Manny to start in the All-Star game if fans vote him in? To me that says fans don't care about steroids.
marty ia [via mobile]
i think best thing going for yankees has been their defense. teixeira has made as much of impact defensively as offensively
Michael Kim (11:01 AM)
Charles -- don't discount Swisher's impact. He's really loosened the clubhouse, it appears.
R Mom (Spring Valley, NY)
How great a name is Colt McCoy? It is almost as great Wolf Blitzer!!
Travis (Columbus, OH)
Michael, you do bring up a point as to how to compare these two coaches: how well did they fare in the face of adversity?
DONALD NJ
COMMON DANA, YOUR KILLING ME WITH THE CHICK FLICKS
Aaron (Denver)
Manny has already dropped to 5th since the story broke, I think the fans are attempting to show they care
Michael Kim (11:02 AM)
Travis -- it's still hard to compare adversity because every back story is different.
Brian (Michigan)
I don't mind chick flicks. If it has Meg Ryan I have seen it.
tony (seattle,wash)
i wouldnt give phil jackson that much credit he had jordan 4 six rings then jump on shaq wagon for another 3 rings yeah that was shaq wagon....
mr911 (305)
wouldnt the titans use vince this year as thier wildcat qb?
Charles Dayton, Ohio
I think Vince Young will probably have to move on to get a shot but the real Kerry Collins may show up, the full of mistakes sack magnet may rear his head and if that happens Vince will take his job back and run with it....
lawrence stowe vt
Princess bride a classic...
Michael Kim (11:04 AM)
Inconceivable
DONALD NJ
WHY DO THE BUGS ALWAYS GRAVITATE TO JOBA. DOES HE WEAR TOO MUCH AXE
Anthony (San Antonio, TX)
Doug is a good coach too but not as good as Phil! Del Harris was not so as a head coach but good as a asst.
R Mom (Spring Valley, NY)
Yankee fan here: I am reaching hysterics over the fact that balls are "pop" flying out of the New Yankee Stadium like popcorn.
Will (WV)
Lets go Gremlins!
Brian (Michigan)
Donald why don't you gravitate your finger towards the CAPS LOCK key.
Will (WV)
Wiffle Ball at Yankee Stadium.....lets get on that!
Adam (Grand Rapids, MI)
The NCAA won't do anything about Reggie Bush what a joke its been 4 years
R Mom (Spring Valley, NY)
Who doesn't like the Princess Bride!! That movie is funny!!
Mike, Bad Axe Michigan
Why dose it take the NBA two weeks to play a playoff series while the NHL Plays 3 games in four days including a back to back in the finals.
R Mom (Spring Valley, NY)
Who doesn't like the Princess Bride? That movie is funny!!!
Hook (Southern Maryland)
The Nationals remind me of the Bad News Bears.
Will (WV)
MK...where is the drug testing today?
Michael Kim (11:14 AM)
Will -- Must have been a hard weekend... Nothing seems to be coming up that warrants this action today... But there's still 45 min left in the show...
Umor (Detroit)
Gremlins 2 in the city. Was better than original one
marty ia [via mobile]
wiffle ball is an excellent idea
Hook (Southern Maryland)
The Nationals remind me of the Bad News Bears.
Michael (KY)
I dont know what's not to love about the HR flying out of Yankee Stadium. They have the offense to take advantage of it, and (supposedly) the pitching to avoid it from opponents.
Dana Jacobson (11:15 AM)
can you all believe jay was dissing the princess bride???? please tell me all you manly men know that movie and realize how funny/quirky it is!! when he realized what i was talking about he got on board...but it took a push from skip!
Michael Kim (11:15 AM)
Who knew Yankee Stadium was Coors Field East?
Mike G El Paso)
Why are you guys talking about Princess bride? Are you that bored or not real men?
Dana Jacobson (11:15 AM)
Mike G, real men like the princess bride.
Hook (Southern Maryland)
What is up with you and wiffle ball Will? But if we played in Yankee Stadium, I have my wooden bat which means out of the stadium for me.
Will (WV)
The stadium announcer in Washington should play the soundtrack to the Bad News Bears when the Nats take the field...
Dana Jacobson (11:15 AM)
seriously if you havent seen that movie, you should. some great lines in it
j(SPRINGFIELD MA)
hey sports nation KOBE deserves some credit 4 the 3 peat in LA Shaq gets too much credit. kobe had that killer mentality for all 3 rings.
Hook (Southern Maryland)
Now if you are going to see the Bad News Bears, see the old one because that is better than the newer one.
Aaron (Denver)
If Roy Halladay was in a major media market, we would be talking about him just like Maddox in the mid-90's and Pedro around 2000.
Dez (Baton Rouge, LA)
wildcat won't last long in the nfl
Dana Jacobson (11:17 AM)
j - i covered those - shaq had the killer mentality too. and let me tell you, teams we're lost as to how to handle both together but shaq was the front runner. he was a brick wall, no answer...but the 2 of em...unreal.
T.J. (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
I just lost respect for skip. The princess bride? Couldnt watch a chick flick if you stapled my eyelids to my eyebrows!
Dana Jacobson (11:18 AM)
tj, its not a chick flick
chaz sa tx
seen it dana, its no notebook or anything. but kinda good.
Jay Crawford (11:18 AM)
i dont know aaron. atlantas not a major media market either. i would say if he wasnt pitching in canada he'd finally get his due. he pitches half his games in another country.
Dana Jacobson (11:18 AM)
chaz, now the notebook that's a chick flick and a good one.
marty ia [via mobile]
i'm a real guy and a winner, and i like princess bride
Dana Jacobson (11:18 AM)
marty, but do you shake hands when you lose?
Travis (Columbus, OH)
I take it I wasn't the only one watching The Princess Bride last night?
WILL (WV)
I WOULD TAKE PRINCESS BRIDE TALK OVER BRETT FAVRE TALK ANY DAY!
Dana Jacobson (11:18 AM)
travis, you're the man!! i flipped past it and stayed for the whole thing.
Jonathan (Atlanta)
Hold it Dana....you're going to Skip for movie support?! Wasn't he the one last week that picked Anchorman over Animal House?! That automatically disqualifes him from any advice on movies.
Jay Crawford (11:19 AM)
yeah, i thought you were talking about princess diaries dana! my bad.
Brad (Gadsden,Alabama)
Should baseball players shake the other teams hands after a game?
Dana Jacobson (11:19 AM)
jonathan, i use him when i have to. and am always amazed at the likes and dislikes he has. that's why animal house shocked me
Clay (Charlotte)
Nothing with Andre the Giant in it is a chick flick.
Matt (Texas)
Love and Basketball is a chick flick
Jay Crawford (11:19 AM)
maybe after a playoff series like in hockey. not after every game.
Dana Jacobson (11:19 AM)
matt, yes and also a good one
Drew (Arkansas)
The wildcat will last longer than people think. Michael Vick's prior seasons is a good reason why.
Dana Jacobson (11:20 AM)
drew, just look at what the vikings are doing institute it...
Ben (Boone, NC)
What are the chances that a championship subdivision quarter back makes it in the pros like Chad Flacco?
Dana Jacobson (11:20 AM)
ben, joe flacco, ben roethlisberger....has to be the right guy but obviously it happens
John, Austin
Vince Young wil get a shot somewhere. Seriously, look at the Niners situation and Delhomme's arm is about to fall off in Carolina and the Vikes are so confident in their qb's they are looking to sign a dinosaur. Vince will rise again!!!
Dana Jacobson (11:21 AM)
John, for this year i think it depends what's offered for him.
Mike G (El Paso)
I will pass Dana. I rather watch Mean Girls!
Dana Jacobson (11:21 AM)
mike g, seen it....pertty funny but very chicky
Dez (Baton Rouge, LA)
You see what happened to the Dolphins when everybody in the afc caught wind
Dana Jacobson (11:22 AM)
dez, jsut gotta add wrinkles
Patrick Swayze (Dirty Dancing)
Nobody puts baby in a corner. Guh-gung.
Dana Jacobson (11:22 AM)
another 80s favorite....
Dana Jacobson (11:22 AM)
see don't you all love having a girl on here!
T.J. (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
You cant count love and basketball as a chick flick. That would make me a chick or something like it. And im no Manny Ramirez!
Dana Jacobson (11:22 AM)
TJ, men can like chick flicks. they just never admit it...
John, Austin
Dana, I agree, but there are some really dumb owners/gm's out there. The Texans got a 2nd rounder for Sage "I want to be a propellar" Rosenfels. Madden 09 wouldn't even approve that trade!!!
Dana Jacobson (11:23 AM)
John, some dumb...some just wanting to get money or a guy off the books.
lawrence stowe vt
Princess bride is no chick flic. It has the fireswamp, pit of dispair, kickin sword fights and andre the giant.
marty ia [via mobile]
vince young was ok with everything he said in interview about competing for job. should've stopped before talking about playing elsewhere
Dana Jacobson (11:23 AM)
marty good point
Mike G (El Paso)
Dana do u like Nocho Libre?
Dana Jacobson (11:24 AM)
mike g, wanted to ...love jack black, but missed it.
John, Austin
And the greatest 80's movie of all time is "Better off Dead".
Dana Jacobson (11:25 AM)
John... I want my 3 dollars!!!! (or was it 2?) French fries, french dressing....
Mike (Michigan)
New Pitching coach Rick Knapp deserves all the Credit for the Tigers turn around. He straightened out verlander,he has Jackson throwing strikes now like a top pitcher has brought porcello around slowly, Worked magic with Dontrelle willis. I'm anxious to see what he can do with Bonderman who should be back soon.
Donald Nj
Dez Wildcat is hear to stay watch the explosion this year. watch the dolphins with the wildcat 2.0 or the wild pat formation
Dana Jacobson (11:26 AM)
Mike, i think some of it was also some healnig no the part of zumaya...willis who knows. BUT yes, kevin kernan and i were talking about it off camera....knapp has been huge for them. amazing what a difference the right coach can make
mikelowery (california)
i love the movie the princess bride!! it's conceivable that no one has seen that movie!!
Dez (Baton Rouge, LA)
speed kills it and EVERY position on the defensive side in the nfl has speed.
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Colt is a monster do your thing this year kid! You da man!
Dana Jacobson (11:26 AM)
mike, inconceivable! but i got ya!
Will (WV)
Dana....you want a chick flick....sleepless in seattle baby!
R Mom (Spring Valley, NY)
Whoa!! Varmint Hunting?! Sorry to say (not sorry to type, thou): Colt McCoy kind of fell down the intelligence bracket list for me.
Dana Jacobson (11:27 AM)
Will, beauty!!! any meg ryan-tom hanks in the late 80s early 90s... how about serendipity, one of my favorites!
Pete (NC)
It was $2 Dana.
Dana Jacobson (11:27 AM)
Thanks pete, i kept saying it in my head!
Brad (Gadsden,Alabama)
Dana, What did you think of Nadal loseing?
Dana Jacobson (11:27 AM)
brad, siad this to someone yesterday...not that it wasn't a big deal...but you knew it had to happen. Streaks always end. I was more surprised by the where it ended and to whom
Kevin (NYC)
that's john cusack!
Dana Jacobson (11:28 AM)
kevin if you mean serendipity and better off dead, you are correct
Michael (KY)
Is this a sports chat? I dont think we will be seeing the topic "Chick Flicks" on 1st and 10 anytime soon
Dana Jacobson (11:28 AM)
michael don't be so sure! i sidetracked everyone. we talk every day it's ok to get off sports sometimes. we'll all live. i love movies and will talk them anytime!
Kevin (NYC)
oh yeah, but then you need Say Anything on the list
Brian (Michigan)
I was always partial to You've Got Mail aka Sleepless in Seattle 2. I thought it was so sweet.
George (NC)
The only chick flick men are allowed to like, and admit to, is 'When Harry met Sally'.
Dana Jacobson (11:29 AM)
george - wow! classic. really.
Dez (Baton Rouge, LA)
LOL... it may be here to stay, but it will definitely become just like any other "special" formations. It will not be anyone's primary offense cuz it requires good execution on every level one misstep and you can have a big loss.
Dana Jacobson (11:29 AM)
dez, wildcat could never be a primary offense and i dont' think anyone wanted it to be. it works b/c it isn't the primary offense
Brad (Gadsden,Alabama)
Dana, So any predictiions for the stanley cup and nba finals?
Dana Jacobson (11:31 AM)
brad, red wings in 5. I thought 7 at first...but detroit's on a freakin mission. nba finals im torn. i want orlando to win b/c i think it would be a great story...the underdog. BUT I think lakers..i'll go 7 there though. why not!
Aaron (Denver)
Michael (KY) Thank You!
Dana Jacobson (11:31 AM)
aaron and michael, relax...... if you can't mix your movie/sports talk what kind of man are you even with chick flicks!!!
John, Austin
Dana, funny story for you, non sports related but I think you'll laugh. My 3 year old loves the Penguins of Madagascar. I took him for a haircut and the lady asks him, "Grayson, what kind of haircut would you like?" He replies, "Cute and cuddly ma'am, cute and cuddly." He's a smooth talker like his dad already.
Dana Jacobson (11:32 AM)
john, very funny. you guys all gonna yell at me for that post too, go ahead! : )
Donald NJ
Good point on wildcat Dana.
Shane (Idaho)
R Moms comment about Colt falling of in intelligence because he goes varment hunting makes no sense. Hunting where he's from is part of the culture as it is in Idaho. Doesn't make us less intelligent. The unintelligent one is R Mom
Dana Jacobson (11:33 AM)
Thanks Donald, i think some others made it too. It'll be interesting to see what the wrinkle is that works this year and if the dolphins are the one who have it!
grant (valencia ca)
I wonder if Lebron has different NBA jerseys at home and tries them on to see what fits best in 2010!?
Dana Jacobson (11:33 AM)
funny grant!
Brian (Michigan)
Check mate, Dana wins.
Dana Jacobson (11:33 AM)
hah!! thanks brian
Michael (KY)
Hey I am not hating! I love movies too....the chick flick that I would not give a chance, but turned out to be really good was The Notebook!!
Dana Jacobson (11:34 AM)
sorry michael, i thought you were.
Dana Jacobson (11:34 AM)
OMG michael kim says he's never seen better off dead!!!!!!!!!!!!
T.J. (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Skip is Pop culture. His demographics have to be awesome. Love him or hate him, you have to see what he's gonna say.
Aaron (Denver)
Look at Phil's role players. Darn near each one of them had their seasons years with Phil. (Jon Paxson Steve Kerr Horace Grant Luc Longley)
Brian (Michigan)
Sorry, Shane I've heard Colt McCoy speak and he is no scholar.
Drew (Arkansas)
Allen Iverson wont be missing any of Phil Jackson's pratices.
Aaron (Denver)
Dana I am a man who came on this site to chat sports...not Sleepless in Seattle...I would rather have gone Something About Mary just to spark the Fav-re conversation
Kevin (NYC)
Black folks do love Skip Bayless!
Brian (Michigan)
Welcome to Netflix Michael Kim.
Barry nashville [via mobile]
dana thats a great pick LAKERS IN 7 and is kobe the REAL MVP
Dana Jacobson (11:36 AM)
Aaron you are on here every day, you know we go off sports sometimes. we chat every day and honestly sometimes i like talking about stuff away from sports. if you don't like it im sorry...but i promise the majority is sports and we'll get back to it. we're even mixing it in.
Kevin (NYC)
Larry Brown doesn't develop his rookies though and eventually burns out everywhere he's at as well.
Sean (Philly)
According to Shane (Idaho), Vick didn't do anything wrong then, dog fighting was part of his culture...
Hook (Southern Maryland)
What is wrong with hunting R Mom? Hunting is needed to balance animal populations. You should try it sometime because you will have fun.
Donald NJ
Wow Dana takes on all challengers
Dana Jacobson (11:37 AM)
I think on the hunting thing, it's regional. northern michigan, the south, everyone i've known hunted it seemed like. I get it. I haven't but it's not a sign of intelligence. Truth is up north without deer hunting season the population would grow too rapidly
Pete (NC)
Ok, let's bring this full circle. In Forget Paris, Billy Crystal plays an NBA ref who lets his personal life affect his officiating. I'm guessing that we have some refs with marriage issues...
Dana Jacobson (11:37 AM)
pete, fantastic!
Cedric (Memphis)
Dana, after thinking about it and knowing that you worked in Sacramento, I have to agree that Shaq was just a beast, as well as Kobe I have to agree. I thought Kobe's playoff numbers were astronomical during the three peat, especially in the 00-01 playoffs. But, then you look at Shaq's numbers were even better because of the rebounding and makes his stat lines look crazy. It was unjust for the Lakers to have both those guys on one team, period
Dana Jacobson (11:39 AM)
cedric, it was amazing back then. One of the most dominant dual threats plus role guys like horry and fish, fox. loaded!!
Sean (Philly)
We could always talk about movies, sports, and men crying in one post. I am fairly certain that every man has shed at least one tear while watching Rudy.
chaz sa tx
<--- would take resevoir dogs and snatch over ANY chic flick any day,......except V-day.
Dana Jacobson (11:41 AM)
chaz - seen resevoir dogs - great but gruesome. but in that vain...goodfellas a favorite here
chaz sa tx
first take crew, Ya like dags?

yeah its like getting dwight and lebron on a team together....would be unfair

Knew someone once who never saw StarWars. Very sad.
Dana Jacobson (11:42 AM)
mark, here's my question...not sure how old you are, but is star wars now what it was when i was a kid...a must see like that?
mr911(miami)
does cris bosh end up in miami, cleavland or niether?
Dana Jacobson (11:42 AM)
mr911, i can't really give you an educated guess but i'll say this. would love to see him team up with another all star, that woudl be a threat.
Donald NJ
Dana i love goodfellas favorite movie of all time.
Dana Jacobson (11:43 AM)
donald, its another that when i flip past i have to stay
Ray (Arlington, VA)
Love looking at the clips of the Laker's championship runs and seeing Kobe's 'fro and Shaq's agility.
Dana Jacobson (11:44 AM)
ray and of course there's mark madsens dance!!!!!
John, Austin
MK's never seen Better Off Dead? Not surprising, they're just now showing Godfather in Missouri.
marty ia [via mobile]
i don't think star wars is that huge nowadays to people. i know quite few people who don't seem interested. i on otherhand loved them
Yogurt (Space Balls)
Use the schwartz, Dana!
Michael Kim (11:44 AM)
What's Godfather?
Dana Jacobson (11:44 AM)
hey yogurt, forget spaceballs how about history of the world??? I was a baby when it came out but sneaked a vhs of it once when my parents weren't home!

I KNEW Michael Kim was younger than he looked........lol
Dana Jacobson (11:45 AM)
rob he's 25.
Michael (KY)
I am on here every day too, and I have grown to love this chat room! No problems with going off on a tangent every once in a while
Will (WV)
Dana...if you get a chance....watch "About Last Night"....great flick!
Dana Jacobson (11:46 AM)
will, who do you think you're dealing with - seen it!
Mark,nj
I think so. Im in my 20's btw. But do you know anyone who hasnt seen it? Any non old men like Skip that is.
Dana Jacobson (11:47 AM)
mark, i don't...and guarantee skip has. i mean it came out in the mid 70s originally and it was ahead of its time...
ME Carr (Houston)
WOW! Thanks for the distraction, Dana! It was more fun reading CHAT today and since nothing has been said about THIRD DOWN, I guess SKIP BASHING LEBRON is over and I can turn back.
chaz sa tx
madsen dance= stuck in the middle with you song, everytime i hear that song i think of that scene.
Hook (Southern Maryland)
I have not teared often watching a movie, but I teared up in the last minutes of the Capitals and Penguins series.
Dana Jacobson (11:48 AM)
hook, i teared up when michigan won the national title and the wings with the cup last year.
Jimmy (Orlando)
Let me offer you some advice: watch "Some Kind of Wonderful." It is the greatest movie of all time
Anthony (San Antonio, TX)
Hey Dana how about Old School or Fast Times at Ridgemont High?
Dana Jacobson (11:48 AM)
anthony only saw old school once, need to see it more i think. fast times a great one. sean penn from spicoli to harvy milk this year - that's range!!!
Donald NJ
Dana what about ghost seams like you were a huge pat swazy fan. a little dirty dancing? lol i know you love them
Dana Jacobson (11:49 AM)
donald you got me...tho if i saw it now, not so much.
Umor (Detroit)
I see no monty pythons fans here.
Michael Kim (11:49 AM)
I thought we would get through the day without one... In fact, we nearly let the testing crew go home early... but then, Jimmy from Orlando comes along and writes: "Watch "Some Kind of Wonderful." It is the greatest movie of all time."... Jimmy, second door on your left. No need to knock.
Dana Jacobson (11:49 AM)
umor, let's call it a draw shall we
Mr.Indiana (Indianapolis,IN)
Are pro athletes paid to perform or talk to the press? Why should LeBron be fined for not talking after the game? Not showing good sportsmanship is one thing but not wanting to comment on a disappointing loss shouldn't cost a grown man a cent!
Dana Jacobson (11:50 AM)
Mr. Indiana - both kind of. It's part of the contract. Teams and the league require certain media avails...gets tougher when it comes playoff time and its more league than team.
Rob (Tallahassee, Fla.)
Dana = no crying over "Ghose"???...say it ain't so!!!
Dana Jacobson (11:50 AM)
rob, i cried...but it doesn't rank as high as many others for me.

I predict Amare to the bulls in 2010 Bosh will most likely follow lebron Cleveland, New York, Brooklyn would be the most likely canadites as far as im concerned
Dana Jacobson (11:51 AM)
pete, interesting scenarios all of em. are we booking it?
Brian (Michigan)
Sorry Dana but you CANNOT mention Fast Times without mention Phoebe Cates. She is literraly twice my age but that wouldn't hold me back.
Dana Jacobson (11:52 AM)
brian, i think most men are with you on the swimming pool exit??
chaz sa tx
monty python is awesome," Please! This is supposed to be a happy occasion. Let's not bicker and argue over who killed who."
Mark,nj
I agree with Mr.INdiana, but if its in the rules, then he definatly should have been fined. If ur a player, next time u get fined say why? Lebrick doesn't.
Sean (Philly)
Ghose? Must have missed that one...
Aaron (Denver)
I wept tears of joy when Rocky finally dropped Drago...and the cold war ended.

I like all the stats we usually get in this room. Here's one for ya, aaron- Magic were 4-0 against th Cavs, when they outscored em.
Dana Jacobson (11:53 AM)
john, how do you beat them? score more points!
Michael Kim (11:53 AM)
Will, I didn't want to do it. Felt I owed it to him.
barry Nashville [via mobile]
dana miller was awesome YES but wasnt all of big shots 3s when they mattered MOST in th playoffs
Jason (Orlando)
Jimmy has disgraced the city of Orlando and may have just cancelled out everything the Magic have dont this postseason, in a matter of seconds
Dana Jacobson (11:54 AM)
barry, that's fair. its just when i think clutch consistently i guess, overall regular season and playoffs i'd probably go reggie/kobe. but horry had more impact in smaller amount.
Michael Kim (11:54 AM)
Jason -- a sad, not-so-wonderful day in the Magic Kingdom.
kevin (philly)
Dana, did you watch Conan last night? Hilarious! CIRCLE! CIRCLE! CIRCLE!
Dana Jacobson (11:55 AM)
kevin i did! I'm torn now, completely. I love letterman and conan. I dont' know what i'm going to do now...

Mr.Indiana (Indianapolis,IN)
So r only the "stars" of the team contracted for post-game media attention? I don't hear anything about the "complimentary" players potentially being fined for not addressing the media!!
Dana Jacobson (12:01 PM)
Mr. indiana, no its part of the regular contract language from what i understand. If players are asked for they're supposed to be avail. Not every role player is asked for and i'll bet the role guys were there...
Rob (Tallahassee, Fla.)
gotta say though, Tom Hanks has to be the most versital actor of "our" time
Dana Jacobson (12:02 PM)
rob, he is but that's where i think penn is underrated sometimes.
Michael Kim (12:02 PM)
Good chat today, everyone... Like Andy Roddick, I am outta here.
Rob (Tallahassee, Fla.)
Dana = don't forget his first two roles "Fast Times" and whatever that army-academy serious flick he was in.... to wide-ranging character portrayals
Dana Jacobson (12:02 PM)
rob do you mean Taps with tom cruise and some other soon to be names?
Sean (Philly)
Actors that are better than Sean Penn...Kevin Spacey, Ed Norton, Morgan Freeman, Keanu Reeves. *Last one is a joke, just seeing if you are paying attention*
Dana Jacobson (12:03 PM)
sean, id argue some of those... but good pics. lol on keanu
Johnny Depp
Sean Penn has nothing on me, did you see me as the feminine drunken pirate?
Dana Jacobson (12:03 PM)
johnny you were underrated inthe movie wtih kate winslet about the guy who wrote peter pan...FINDING NEVERLAND.
john- pc bch
Back to Paul's reference to "Forget Paris"-perhaps I should cut he refs some slack in the finals......nah
Kevin (NYC)
Haha good one Sean. I did a double take for sure.
jason (nebraska)
in the nfl playoff system if the best team only loses one game they are done which easily makes it so the best teams dont play for the title
Dana Jacobson (12:04 PM)
jason, makes it compelling and a 7 game football series isn't happening.
Rob (Tallahassee, Fla.)
Mr.Indiana (Indianapolis,IN): = sorry, but as a "member of the media" I've got to tell you that for the most part the "complimentary players" have little to no draw in the press room
Dana Jacobson (12:04 PM)
rob you are correct, but almost all are around in the lockerroom when you go in.
Dana Jacobson (12:05 PM)
folks, outta here. thanks for humoring me with the movie talk! i'm all fired up now!!!
