Michael (KY)
Good Morning First Take!! I am so proud of my Braves this morning!!
Cedric (Memphis TN)
On the eve of the Finals, here's the question everyone needs to ask. With Shaq's displeasure with parties on both side, who do you think will feel the wrath of Shaq's rap fury when it's over? Will Kobe or SVG/Howard be asked next how his anatomy tastes? Which do you want Kobe pt 2, or Master of Panic/Imposter pt 1? Let's hear it.
Moderator (9:43 AM)
On the eve of the Finals, Cedric, thats whats supposed to keep us up tonight?
Donald NJ
How bout them Yankees. I'm calling it right now. World Series. The only competition in the AL are the twins. They got a heck of a 1-2 Punch. in the 3 and 4 spot. But we have a 1-2-3-4-5-6 punch
Donald NJ
Penguins win a must win game 3 but still are are good as done. Win 3 out of 4 against the wings. As my friend joey from the pizza shop would sa Fagetaboutit
ALAN(TAMPA BAY)
GOOD MORNING FIRST TAKE
Umor (Detroit)
Morning DJ, Jay and Mod.
Dylan Jacobsen (Dutch Harbor, Alaska)
good morning, do you guys think that Kobe absolutely HAS to win the championship in the next 2 years to be in hall of fame?
Garry Washington(Waldorf,MD)
If the Orlando Magic beat the Los Angles Lakers in the NBA Finals, does this mean that they are the best team in NBA basketball??? With Orlando ranking fourth in this years regular season standings and with wins over the defending champions Boston Celtics,Lebrons Cleveland Cavilers, and only needing to beat the Lakers, would that rank them in supremacy by beating the three teams rankd ahead of them. Not taking nothing away from the three teams but they say the better team always wins the series...
Moderator (9:55 AM)
you can say it means whatever you want, Gary...whoever gets the trophy at the end is all that matters
john- pc bch,fl
Good Morning, all. I'm ready to stir the pot early!
Umor (Detroit)
6 pens on the ice, for 21 sec,in the 1st period and the refs miss it. And Why were wings defensemen standing in front of Ozzie for two of those goals. Did they forget what team they were on.
Darick Hyattsville
I got the Lakers winning the series in 5 games....not 6 or 7! Lakers have the experience, and the hunger. Orlando has no idea what it's like to play in the finals and will be fighting off nerves. It reminds me of the Orlando team that got swept by Houston....a big man with good shooters! That didn't work then, won't work now. Lakers in 5!
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Fight for your Dwight to PARTY!!
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
The playoffs don't start until the home team loses. So far the NHL Finals are where I expected them to be. Don't give up yet, Pens fans. The Caps had them down 2-0 as well.
Dana Jacobson (10:05 AM)
morning folks! good game last night. still saying wings in 5
john- pc bch,fl
Trophys used to mean something- now they are just something to dust-stats last forever.
Moderator (10:07 AM)
anyone take issue with John on that?
Michael (KY)
Dana, I really love your optimism, but the Pens will win another game, at least
Travis (Hollister, NC)
Magic will win the Finals in Orlando, game 6. LA is too soft in the middle, and when Dwight gets going the 3's will start raining. SKIP IS THE MAN
john- pc bch
Kobe's comments were P.C-kudos to his writer.
Taylor (Merrimac, MA)
The Red Wings will win the series, but I do hope the Pens keep it close and exciting!
Jeff (West Springfield, MA)
Wings in 5 definitely! If it wasn't for that chippy penalty last night it would of went into OT and who knows what would of happened!
Newberg , Oregon
Kobe is lying he wants this one without Shaq
Michael (KY)
Fans really crack me up sometimes! If their team wins, it's because they are better than the other team, but God forbid, they lose, the blame falls on a 21 second stretch on the refs....
Taylor (Merrimac, MA)
Magic in 6...Kobe can't win without Shaq!
John, Austin
Agree with Mod, who the heck ever remembers the records of teams? The trophy is all that counts.
Jeff (West Springfield, MA)
I think purple is Jay's color!!
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Orlando in 6 in the middle of the Dwight, I be walking in my sleep. (Billy Joel for you youngins)
Milan Thomas, Norfolk, Virginia
I think it's about time Skip Bayless recants his disparaging comments about the Jason Bay - Manny trade. Being the most irritating announcer on TV can keep you on screen, but only if you are right once in a while, or at least adimt it when you are not.
Viva
I think Kobe wants to win regardless getting it without Shaq is an added bonus
Adam G. Tampa, FL
ME Skip and Jay would have won with Shaq and Kobe come on.
Moderator (10:11 AM)
2nd down topics coming up later: Does Stan Van Gundy deserve more credit now Skip? Teixeira/Vicente Padilla last night, discussion...Tex says Padilla has it in for him
Jason (Detroit)
Those damn Penguins.
Moderator (10:12 AM)
espn.com/firsttake....check it out gang
Dana Jacobson (10:12 AM)
jason, far from a beat down....i had little doubt theyd get the game one win at home
meech phila. pa
kobe gave the perfect answer but when it's all said and done no-one is better than jordan
Taylor (Merrimac, MA)
I don't know if I could vault Kobe that high, Skip, but I guess I would have to move him up my list at least a little.
New York,N.Y.
I think shaq could not have done it alone. It takes a good team with a buch of good players to win a championship
Travis (Hollister, NC)
Shaq and Kobe won the finals together. Neither would have won without the other. Kobe will win a 4th title, but not this year (Magic in 6). But when Kobe wins his 4th without Shaq he will jump to 3 all time for me.
Bloomfield CT
its puts him in the top qo.but he wont be the greatest player of all time.nobody is better than MJ.skip me you one on one Chris
Caballo Diablo (Austin)
How about Dana vs Dwight Howard in a friendly pickup game?
Dana Jacobson (10:14 AM)
caballo only shot i have is dwight laughing so hard the whole time i'd get a shot past him, one. that's it!
Jason(Cleveland)
It's official Skip is an idiot. He did not just compare Kobe to Rashard Lewis. C'mon Skip. Kobe is better than Lewis in his sleep. You are comparing a role player(3 point shooter), to one of the greatest ever. That's just ignorant.
keivn cincy
what time is stewart cink coming on?
Dana Jacobson (10:15 AM)
hour #2
Donald NJ
Dana couldn't even get a shot off
Dana Jacobson (10:15 AM)
donald, he'd let me get one in...besides, seriously, he'd be laughing so much i'd get one.
Pato/houston, TX
Kobe is not willing to accept that he need it Shaq, Shaquille was able to win a championship the season after he left the Lakers. But it has taken Kobe many seasons to become the MVP, while Shap had that award twice, remember he is at the end of his road, maybe he needs to learn how to be more humble.
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
Today is a good day to be a Pens fan. The team gave us hope last night and after some early issues, Fleury clamped down on the Detroit offense. Meanwhile, Osie got torched on some long shots. What was that all about, Dana?
Brad (Tallahassee, Fl)
The both needed each other. Kobe is about to win another championship with a big man like Gasol. Shaq won a championship in Miami with D-Wade. We see what happens to superstars without someone else to play with, why do you think the Cavs lost despite Lebron's superstar effort?
Michael (KY)
Can someone PLEASE help me understand why SVG does not get the love he deserves!?!?
Dana Jacobson (10:16 AM)
Johnny, barry just said what i was going to...those long shots, impossible. they're a great adjusting team...i have faith they'll come through
Rob (Tallahassee, Fla.)
Dana = don't forget, if you get desperate, the fake-cross-over/groin kick.......lol
Dana Jacobson (10:16 AM)
thanks rob...or a depants-ing
Moderator (10:16 AM)
a nice suit and tie would get him a little more credit....
Michael Kim (10:17 AM)
Good morning everyone...
Dan Findlay, OH
As hard as this is to say. I completely agree with Skip's list of all time players. And while Magic is one of the best. He's crazy if he honestly believe Kobe could go down as the greatest ever.
Andy(nebraska)
saying nobody is better then MJ is just ignorant. MJ is great but he's not clear-cut best player ever, there's just too many greats.
john- pc bch
Hey Md, that comment was more a statement on society than sports-we are inundated with useless numbers such as free throw attempts, as opposed to the TIMING of those fouls & their relevance.
Moderator (10:20 AM)
Plays of the week....vote 1-10... Niger Morgan diving catch for the Pirates Joba Chamberlain's belly flop catch/double play French Open, flying winner by Monfils...getting dirty on the clay courts
Mike (Cincinnati)
Michael Kim vs Barry Melrose in a hockey debate
Travis (Hollister, NC)
MJ is def the best player EVER IN LIFE. Oh, and JABA wins my vote for play of the week.
Ryan (Newberg, Oregon)
diving return 10 unreal
Jason(Cleveland)
Kobe and Shaq were both amongst the greatest ever. They just happened to both play on the same team at the same time. As for Skip to say you could replace Kobe with Lewis or Turkoglu is just crazy. The Lakers needed every bit of Kobe and Shaqs greatness just to get out of the west them years.
Keith, MI
Is Jameer Nelson what the magic need to win
Michael Kim (10:21 AM)
I would be like the Wings last night when the Pens had 6 attackers on the ice. No contest. Barry would win skating away.
Dana Jacobson (10:21 AM)
keith, if jameer is back could definitely be a difference maker
Moderator (10:21 AM)
James C in Oakland...widdle that marathon post down about 90% and maybe you'll get some love
Justin (Princeton, NJ)
Dand, can you tell Skip to lighten up on the "tweet-ing." Everytime I open my twitter page he has thirteen tweets on fourteen different topics! j/k, I love you skip!
John, Austin
Is it really a story that the Colts are losing coaches? Peyton is really teh Off Coordinator anyway. I could send in the plays, he'd change them anyway.
Dana Jacobson (10:22 AM)
justin, tweet it to him.
Hightower Charleston. IL
I love the symmetry for Kobe in these playoffs. He beats Utah in the 1st round the place where he airballed those 3's. Then he beat Houston, the two toughest defenders, his own personal Detroit. Then he wins in Colorado. Now he must beat the best young center in the league who just happens to be from Orlando. This entire playoff run has been the Kobe exercising the demons tour professional and personal. Kobe in 6
Umor (Detroit)
Dana you had braylon could block your shot. Dwight will knock it off the court.
Moderator (10:22 AM)
thats very deep Hightower
Taylor (Merrimac, MA)
Thanks for mentioning me on tv Dana...my life is complete...i have been name-dropped on ESPN!!!
Nathan (St. Paul,MN)
Monfils is the best play! Sadly Joba will win because he plays for the Yankees.
Moderator (10:23 AM)
he'll win, Nathan, because you didn't rate Monfils on a scale from 1-10 like we need ya to
Jeff (West Springfield, MA)
Gael Monfils' dive is just FILTHY! 10
Moderator (10:23 AM)
literally and figuratively filthy, Jeff
Dana Jacobson (10:23 AM)
umor braylon's damn good...im fine with braylon blocking my shot. im not saying dwight won't...i just think he'll be laughing a lot and i'll surprise him. sometimes its better to be lucky than good
Michael (KY)
If the Magic can beat the Cavs without Jameer, they can beat the Lakers without Jameer. LA is not THAT much of a better team, if at all.
Craig Kirkendall (Toledo, OH)
all the plays are tremendous, but the best one by far is Joba's catch... he's pitching the ball one second, diving for a catch the next and then has the field presense to double-up the guy on second! I can't stand the Yanks or Joba but that was outstanding. 10!
Dana Jacobson (10:24 AM)
michael it's match-ups, jameer had 2 of his bigger games against la in the wins this year...tougher to guard than skip to my lou
Albert (Columbia, MD)
Shaq is irrelevant. He didn't even make the playoffs. So what if he has an opionion. It's like u know what, everybody has one!!
Dana Jacobson (10:24 AM)
albert, how is shaqs opinion on whether he would have won titles without kobe irrelevant?? that's exactly who id like to hear from
Dan (Findlay, OH)
Dana, you really seem to know what you're talking about when it comes to sports. Who is in your top 5 all time in the N.B.A.?
Brian Fox (Valley Glen, CA)
Michael Kim vs Skip in a pickup game!!!
Michael Kim (10:27 AM)
No contest on this either... I would DOMINATE Skip. Post him down low or take him outside and bomb 3s. The old man would have no answer.
Andy(nebraska)
Why does Johan Santana never get run support? Even when he was on my twins he wouldn't get any run support.
Stephen (KY)
Why are there no comments about the scrappiest team in baseball, the REDS? They are doing something that no other team in baseball has the depth across the roster can do...that's win with the B and C team.
Donald NJ
Jameer Nelson should play a role off the bench. maybe 20 min a game
Chris (WV)
Bringing in Nelson would be a mistake. He's been out too long and would seriously mess up the chemistry of this "PLAYOFF" team.
Dana Jacobson (10:42 AM)
sorry got completely bumped off the system folks
Michael Kim (10:42 AM)
Hang in there, everyone... Computer issues today... REALLLLLYYYYY SLLLOOOOWWWWW.
Perry(taunton,mass)
i been sittin back and watchin. I realize that kobe bryant and the lakers are on a mission for a fourth ring. i understand kobe losing to the celtics last year but if he loses to orlando that would be crazy. might even hurt kobe's legacy.
Jarod Bentonville Arkansas
I think Jaba diving and doubling up is an 8. The return against Roddick is a 5. Outfielder running in making a catch that happens 500 times a season a 2.
Phillip (Pawleys Island, SC)
whats going on with the chat???
Moderator (10:43 AM)
likes like we're all having some chat issues...not refreshing...bear down folks...battle through it...
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
I still wonder if trying to work Jameer Nelson into the game might disrupt the chemistry that the Magic have developed during this playoff season.
ALAN(TAMPA BAY)
if nelson from the magic is the heart of the team, why cant he be the heart of the team on the bench like he has been in the play offs? you guys mentioned last week that he has lit the lakers up in the regular season, if Van Gundy puts him in vs. the lakers that will be him pushing the panic button.
Andy(nebraska)
Rafer Alston is trash. He's not even a streaky shooter anymore, he's a chucker who most of the time can't hit a shot.
Umor (Detroit)
If the lakers double superman. Hedo gonna rain 3s on them
Jonathan (Atlanta)
Skip right...Stan doesn't deserve more credit. He a good coach (not premier) who has great talent. I will say that I disagree with Skip on one point. I don't think his players completely tune him out....when he told his players that they were "Witnesses" to LeBron, that got them fired up and they ended up winning the game.
Adam G. Tampa, FL
Who is Padilla? He's trying to make a name for himself.
Travis (Hollister, NC)
Jameer will fit into the rotation perfectly. He already has chemistry with all of the players, so no he will not mess up chemistry. He's no Gilbert Arenas.. Dwight is the star of this team.
Dana Jacobson (10:45 AM)
dan you asked for nba greats - not much different than others. mj, wilt, shaq, big o, magic, larry, hakeem. outside of jordan no particular order id say..thats off the top of my head. goin for 10 add jerry west maybe havilicek, duncan. is that 10?
Phillip (Pawleys Island, SC)
Getting hit by a pitch is one thing but getting nailed by a pitch is another thing. By allowing this your just allowing for a pitcher o purposely hit anyone he chooses.
Andy(nebraska)
Hurt Kobe's legacy? It's not going to be his fault Pau Gasol is soft and Andrew Bynum is too(and always hurt). Odom isn't aggresive all the time, and Fisher is terrible.
Aaron (Denver)
Bean balls No...Purpose Pitches Yes. Pitchers need to make the hitter uncomfortable in the box.
Nathan (St Paul, MN)
Teixeira is a cry baby, when the Twins played the Yankees he was yelling at Gomez for something that was the Yankees catchers fault not Gomez's!
Brian (Michigan)
NEWSFLASH: Padilla has been around a long time and is annually at or near the top in batters hit.
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
Bean balls are disgusting. To me its a criminal act because a pitcher is intentionally throwing an object with intent to hurt someone. Scoop's on point with this one.
Donald Nj
Teixeira for AL MVP
Jonathan (Atlanta)
I agree with Jay. Making a message pitch is completely different than aim at a guys body with intent to hit and potentially hurt him.
Rob (Tallahassee, Fla.)
"precision control" ....pu-lease
Jason (Chicago)
I dont agree with Jay, Skip and Scoop are right. There is a big difference between establishing the inside of the plate and beaning people.
Brad(MN)
Baseball needs the bean ball. The strike zone gets smaller and smaller with players standing over the plate. pitcher need to have some chance to let hitters know they are going tothrow where they want.
Benjamin (Plattsburgh)
what the ____ is scoop wearing? he looks like hes wearing a psychedelic boarding school uniform..... not cool scoop.... not cool
Mick (Rome, GA)
Pitchers drilling someone because a guy hit a home run is bush league. The batter did his job. No player is too good to get beaten every now and then. You wanna get even? Get the batter out next time.
Liam (boston)
Why do people act like Shaq carried Kobe to rings? Shaq was top-dog, especially in 2000 when he was mvp of the league and kobe was just becoming an allstar at age 20, but in 2001 and 2002 it was alot more like Moses-Dr J or Kareem-Oscar or Magic-Kareem(2headed monster, dynamic duo, 2 alltime greats playing at unreal level)than it was Jordan-Pippen or Wade-Shaq or Kobe-Gasol(Clear #1, way way way better than the 2nd banana, and Pippen was GREAT by the way, thats just how good MJ was, and Shaq of 2006 was not better than Gasol of now, he averaged 12ppg in those finals).
Rob (Tallahassee, Fla.)
I mean, COME ON.... if I guy gets racked with back-to-back homers everyone screams that the pitcher didn't take back over the plate. In baseball the pitcher owns the plate, and it's on the hitter to take it from him.
Adam G. Tampa, FL
That's not head hunting Jay's right that's a set up pitch for hey Mike you're not going to take me deep I made the wrong pitch to Jason Bay.
Aaron (Denver)
Chin Music is a part of the game...ask Willie Mays about Drysdale...He absolutley knew he would be knocked down every time he face him!
Jeff (West Springfield, MA)
I'm with Jay. That was def not head hunting! He could of hit Lowell if he wanted to.
Dana Jacobson (10:50 AM)
jeff, i agree. but if i say it i'm just a tigers fan...if jay or you say it its just an opinion
Jay Crawford (10:50 AM)
sorry room! major computer issues. good morning all! today would have been my pops 71st bday. happy bday dad! if yours is still with us, call him and tell him you love him! do it for me...lol
Rob (Tallahassee, Fla.)
anybody that's NEVER pitched just don't get IT that pitches DO get away from pitchers. look at how many players Randy Johnson has plunked over the years. heck, John Kruk admitted being scared of him
Benjamin (Plattsburgh)
Shaq is vastly overrated in the GOAT debates.... he played in an era where during his prime there were no other centers in the nba grossly overinflating his stats..... he never had any direct competition during his prime, only during his first and last years. HOFer, but not worthy of top 10 GOAT debate
Tone (Seattle)
Jay what is your opinion on all the shin , and elbow guards worn now? I think it really took the power away from most pitchers to own the inside of the plate because people don't mind being hit in the plastic
Dana Jacobson (10:51 AM)
benjamin couldn't disagree more. he changed the way people drafted, the way defenses were drawn up and rules in the nba.
Neil (Tampa, FL)
Beanballs are ridiculously cheap but part of the game. I agree it's dangerous but it's one of the only ways to throw a guy off in the game. It's like icing a kicker. Beanballs may not always be at a critical point in the game but it sets the tone.
Jeff ( Houston)
Regarding the bean ball issue, I actually think that sliding into the player covering 2nd base with the intent ot take out their legs is even less acceptable. The same type of play has been banned in football (going at the QB's legs), so I think they need to penalize players for this.
Moderator (10:52 AM)
3rd down...if you were Commish Stern...would you say anything to Lebron about not shaking hands? Tiger and Nicklaus are playing Skins match today...if they were playing in the same era, who would win more majors?
Marcus Rochester,NY
Every sport has its questionable traditions. Crashes in NASCAR, elbows in basketball, etc. to try and take that away from baseball would take the teeth out of the game
Trevor(Johnstown, Co)
I think it is a way for the players to police each other, go in to a base spikes up and you have to be on your toes next trip up.
Andy(nebraska)
Mauer and Morneau for Al MVP. Either one. Mauer is playing amazing since coming back. 431 avg, 12 hr 35 rbi in 29 games?beast.
Aaron (Denver)
Mike, purpose pitches are not bush league (my favorite saying in baseball). Look at the catcher's gear Bonds and Biggio used to wear to the plate....that's bush league.
Umor (Detroit)
Guys know they are gonna get pitch at after a homer. Lowe was suprise that porcello did it on the second pitch.
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
Dana: Surprised you left Kareem off of your top ten list. Any reason?
Dana Jacobson (10:53 AM)
johnny i'd throw him in yes. left off b/c i took 5 minutes trying to get on the computer and was just trying to get a list out but yes kareem goes on there. not sure if i had 10 or not. i almost didn't list the big 0, hows that
Liam(Boston)
I disagree with Benjamin, Shaq dominated Duncan-Robinson and Webber-Divac, he woudl dominate in any era. He wouldve dominated Bill Laimbeer or Wes Unseld the same way he did Sabonis or Mutumbo.
Perry(taunton,mass)
shaq overrated kick benjamin out.
Dana Jacobson (10:55 AM)
perry benjamin can stay - we take all opinions
logan (East Lansing, MI)
looking at the lions schedule how many games do they realistically have a chance of winning this year
Donald NJ
Rodney Harrison is a Hall of famer
Jay Crawford (10:55 AM)
im not a fan of it. gear is for catchers. helmets should be all they need.
Dana Jacobson (10:55 AM)
logan, i said 5 the other week but followd with no clue. everyone and everything is so new i'd like some training camp time in to see....not copping out just need some more info
John, Austin
I loved what Texiera did last night after getting hit twice. He was mad and taking out the SS on a DP ball was awesome. The Yanks need that passion. It was a hardnosed baseball play and I loved it!!!
Phillip (Pawleys Island, SC)
Lebron didnt shake hands because of the one reason anyone feels what they feel when they lose a big game like that. Lebron did nothing wrong, he was upset that they lost a big game. If this wasn't lebron wold the commish even care, really?
Donald NJ
I got my football fix. the shakes are gone.
Juaqin (Mike and Mike)
I would like to see Dwight vs. Shaq in their primes. Who would dominate the other?
Will (Detroit)
Why is there this double standard in sports? In baseball they throw pitches at each intentionally and have gang fights. In hockey they stop the game, drop gloves and fight. In the NBA if u throw 1 punch you are labled a thug
Sam (Itta Bena, MS)
I find it a little fishy that all this is being made of Lebron not shaking hands of the magic players, when just last year Kobe didn't shake any of the celtic's players hands either.
jason nebraska
nfl needs to either use the nba series playoff format or the bcs system
Dana Jacobson (10:56 AM)
Juaqin - agreed
Dana Jacobson (10:56 AM)
hey all if you were stern, what would you say to lebron about the non hand shaq media skip?
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
Hey Jay. Dad is still with us and he's got a birthday coming up next month. We have season tickets together for our AAA baseball team and talk sports just about every day. Best friend I've ever had. Happy B-Day to the memory of your dad.
Herm (Ohio)
So Because a pitcher gives up a HR. he must send a message by nearly hitting the next Batter. Should a football player on the Defensive side of the ball cheap shot a WR of RB if they get score.....No that football player would be fined and possibly suspended
Michael Kim (10:57 AM)
If Lebron would have sat through a postgame interview session, none of this would have been a big deal. Because he did BOTH, he got roasted. A lot of guys don't shake hands after games/series.
Jeff (West Springfield, MA)
*Dana* I'm a Red Sox fan and I don't think he was trying to hit him. He was just trying to get control of the plate.
Marcus Rochester,NY
David Stern has really shown over the years that i've been watchin that he always has the leagues and fans in mind. i sincerely hope he does punish LeBron and it seems that he will.
Dana Jacobson (10:57 AM)
thank you jeff!
Aaron (Denver)
Liam did you just compare Bill Lambeer's defense with Mutumbo?...I wave my index finger in your general direction.
Chris (WV)
Shaq could run the floor much better than DH. Shaq ftw.
Cody (shaftsbury, vt)
Shaq was not the only good center in the 90's, thats crazy. He just will dominate anyone. Like it or not he was more versatile than howard.
Perry(taunton,mass)
Im taking shaq anyday. id take shaq ova any center in there prime.
Andy(nebraska)
I also disagree with Benjamin. That's like saying that Dwight Howard doesn't have any competition now either. Centers are hard to find and even harder to find one who isn't a stiff and can play. There's what 2 really good centers in the league today?
CK:(Oklahoma)
Shaq would dominate Dwight in there primes!
Jay Crawford (10:57 AM)
that's awesome johnny! raise a pop for my dad! mine was also my best friend. miss him terribly all days, but especially today.
Jarod Bentonville Arkansas
Shaq in his prime made teams come up with all new ways to guard him. How many illegal defenses were called when Shaq dropped to the paint in the middle to late 90's? I'm not the biggest fan of Shaq but give him his dues, he was a force.
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
Fair enough on Kareem. I'd consider Dr. J. for the list as well. I can't stand the 76ers but the guy was awesome to watch.
Chris (WV)
Shaq overrated? WOW! That's a huge mistake. You need to go to confessional.
Billy (Beaumont, TX)
If Tiger and Jack played at the same time Tiger would dominate because of his will, determination and above all his ability to intimidate other players
James ( Columbus, OH )
I don't care what anybody says! If pitchers can throw a ball at your head on purpose, then I can understand why MLB players use steroids! You gotta be strong enough to take the hit! Do you agree Skip?
Dana Jacobson (10:58 AM)
definitely in the discussion - i htink there are about 13/14 guys who are in the top 10 discussion and you're not wrong 6-10 or so switching em around. you know?
Liam (boston)
Kobe DID shake the celtics players hands, he went and hugged Doc Rivers and embraced him, shook his hand and had a conversation with him for a second, then went and shook Ray and KG's hands and then got Paul and Leon Powe on his way back to his side and off the court. How do I know? Because I WAS THERE! GO CELTICS, wow that was the greatest moment of my life!
Todd (Ohio)
I would say something about the media skip...its his duty as a player who makes millions on top of millions to play a game.
Neil (Tampa, FL)
The Magic this year are a dream team, and I'm not just saying that as a Floridian. Dwight Howard is only 23 and he's DOMINATING. The Lakers will be swept, you heard it here first!
CK: SOONER Country
Jameer Needs to just wait it out!
Todd (Ohio)
Mod...it would depend which era Tiger and Jack are playing in. If they played in Jack's era, Nickalus would win more with the different equipment. In this era, Tiger would dominate with superior distance and putting.
Chris (WV)
Patrick Ewing, Hakeem O., David Robinson, Dikembe Mutumbo weren't GREAT BIGS!?! Give me a break.
john- pc bch
Are you SURE that was water...?
Aaron (Denver)
Stern needs let Lebron know the League is bigger than him, despite all the hype.
Brian (Michigan)
Kinda hard to put Shaq and Dwight against each other in their primes when Dwight hasn't come close to his prime yet.
Donald NJ
How can you say shaq is overrated. What drug are you on? He's shaq!!!! Whenever you have 1 name only you've made it.
Brad(MN)
Who cares about Lebron not shaking hands. This is professional basketball, Not little league. Lebron has been nothing but great for the NBA. Ask Howard how he feels about it. MY guess is that he could care less. Lets get over this ASAP.
CHRIS (Cleveland Ohio)
I would tell him that he should have know better, and I can understand why LBJ did what he did. People need to get off Lebron's back. He is human!
Umor (Detroit)
Hey DJ, How come our seagulls are hanging out at cleveland stadium. And now we got squirells chillin' in centerfield.
Jay Crawford (11:02 AM)
its like a jungle in cleveland these days! bugs and birds....
darryll (brooklyn, ny)
Dana ask skip and scoop if jordan would have won a title with a center or powerforward like ewing, barkley or malone would people still say kobe have to win one with out shaq. I thought the blue print was low post then good wing players
lewis atlanta,ga
i guarantee if more blacks or hispanics played hockey...fighting would become punishable by fines
Jason(Cleveland)
There is nothing wrong with telling your family you love them everyday Jay. In the end they will always be there for you. Also I would like everyone to say a prayer for my brother and the rest of the troops serving around the world.
Jay Crawford (11:03 AM)
i will throw one up for your bro, and all our men and women! God speed
chris(Oklahoma):
I wish they would let the lebron thing GO!
Marcus Rochester,NY
I think LeBron's actions after the game points to the fact that deep down he never respected the Magic. He felt that his team should have won the series, and when they didn't he couldn't handle the moment.
Jason (Chicago)
What if Lebron tells Stern to "get over it"? What are they going to do, Kick Lebron out of the league?
Jarod Bentonville Arkansas
Dana love that necklace. My fiance has won similar. You look great
Moderator (11:08 AM)
shouldn't you be telling your fiance that instead of Dana??
Hook (Southern Maryland)
I may go to that game tonight and see Randy Johnson go for 300 wins.
Jarod Bentonville Arkansas
I really hope Randy Johnson gets 300 tonight. They broke the mold when he came into the league.
Moderator (11:08 AM)
why, the mold was only 6'7"?
Dana Jacobson (11:08 AM)
well this is a funny time to join the chat. thanks
Drew (Buffalo)
Are we seriously still talking about Lebron not shaking hands?
Juaqin (Mike and Mike)
Jay Crawf who hit the most home runs off of Randy Johnson?
Jay Crawford (11:08 AM)
chipper jones has taken rj deep 6 times.
Brian (Michigan)
No, they would put LeBron and Joey Crawford in a no holds barred cage match. Two men enter, one man leaves.
Gary, Minnesota
Keep up the good work Skip! Nobody knows sports like you....NOBODY!
Dana Jacobson (11:09 AM)
no drew we're talking about stern meeting with lebron and what stern should say to him. stern wants to talk with him. its the face of his league we're talkinga bout no wonder
john- pc bch,fl
Michael, please give jason (nebraska) a cup-ANYBODY that the BCS is better than the NFL format...
James Denver
Jordan had only 6 wins to 7 losses as a career lifetime record in close out games.
Donald NJ
CC will be the next 300 game winner
Aaron (Denver)
Randy may be the MOST FEARED pitcher since Bob Gibson...if not all time.
Liam (boston)
Kobe in 2001 and 2002 was arguably the best player in the NBA. Problem was that Shaq was also arguably the best playe rin the NBA, and more people sided with Shaq in that argument (other players in it were Duncan and that about it. McGrady and Garnett in 2003 was in that argument...... and that about it.)
Dana Jacobson (11:09 AM)
donald you and kevin in cync
John, Austin
Sports at work is better than work at work.
Jay Crawford (11:09 AM)
john, truer words were never chatted!
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
Question for the First Take crew: Jamie Moyer has 250 wins. Impressive or just a by-product of him sticking around for a long time?
Jay Crawford (11:10 AM)
both, but mostly longevity.
Brian (Michigan)
I know Mark McGwire hit some huge shots off Randy Johnson, 500+ feet.
Perry(taunton,mass)
DANA. and Everyone at firsttake. every one wants to talk duos. if you could take any two players in nba history and put them together for a duo. Who would it be?
Jay Crawford (11:10 AM)
he hit alot of hitters very deep.
Dana Jacobson (11:10 AM)
perry great question...there are so many. everyone with jordan. how's that?
Pato/houston, TX
Can Skip join us? I would like to have a word or two with him.
Moderator (11:10 AM)
that one Mac hit in the Kingdome went 538 feet...McGwire and Randy also went to USC together
Steve (malden mass)
The media only brought up the Lebron thing because of the public outcry from the fans when they saw him "pull an Isiah" and walk off the court after game 6 without showing any class/sportsmanship. Everyone knows ESPN has a crush on Lebron, they wouldve never brought it up if the fans didnt freak out so bad. PS: Kobe and Wade>>>Lebron
Jay Crawford (11:10 AM)
he's too busy formulating his brilliant debate points....lol
Benjamin (Plattsburgh)
David Stern has quickly become tied with Bud for worst commissioner in sports..... what selig has let steroids to destroy stern is letting refs destroy..... PUBLIC CREDIBILITY..... in both instances fans are FUBAR..... Fed Up Beyond All Recognition
CK: SOONER Country
Very interested in what Charlie V. has to say
Shon'( North Las Vegas)
I think Shaq would not have won with out Kobe or Dwayn Wade, so Kobe was right about what he said, everybody fails to forget that when Shaq was out of the game other teams had to worry about kobe, and for what Skip said I don't think Rashard could have taken over a game the way Kobe did against the Indiana Pacers in the Finals the way Kobe did,so no you can't put Shaq with anybody and he win a Championship what happen'd with Orlando and Little Penny and the rest of the cast........ I think Kobe should get more respect.
John, Austin
I'm starting to feel annoyed about the Lebron talk, like I was about BF and steriods. Its time to move on, for the Love of Bob Cousy already!!!!
Dana Jacobson (11:11 AM)
steve to be honest, and jemele hill reminded me of this. isiah took a lot of heat back in his day. and yes espn brought it up b/f the fans did....sorry you can hate on something else but not this one
Jay Crawford (11:11 AM)
no kidding. he's gone...move on! we have a great finals series to talk about.
Jeremiah (Bolivar,NY)
Dont forget these Lakers beat a slumping Jazz team (ahem Boozer),struggled to beat Houston (who plays for them?), and closed out Denver (George Karl coaches them LOL)Magic in 6
veda13 atlanta,ga
i don't think it's a big idea...however it does show good sportsmenship if he did..but stern already has too much control..
Juaqin (Mike and Mike)
Okay Jay Manny Ramirez took him deep how many times?
Jay Crawford (11:12 AM)
5 times juaqin
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
300 wins is amazing. 15 wins for 15 seasons is only 225!
Ruedi (St. Louis)
How much do we celebrate Randy Johnson's 300th win with all of the steroid issues? I clearly remember his Clemens-esq anger on the mound..he never threw a bat at Piazza but seriously..where are we at with this?
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
When an ogre on steroids (McGwire) connects square with a 99mph fastball, it tends to travel a long, long way. It's physics. :-P
veda13 atlanta,ga
if you can throw at someone's head..then hgh should be legal..but they won't change unless someone is killed or paralyzed
Jason (Cleveland)
Yeah I want a minute with Skip to. Someone needs to defend Lebron when he starts with his stupid fist pounding and ranting. He is ignorant on the topic of Lebron James.
Jay Crawford (11:12 AM)
lol
Travis (Hollister, NC)
I think Lebron has a right not to talk to media or shake hands after the game 6 loss. I think he made a great point when he said you dont shake sumbody's hand after they beat you up. Im sure he will congratulate dwight sooner or later.
Tone (Seattle)
He should have just fined him like any other player and that be it. No wonder the officials treat the stars different they are just taking the lead from the league
matthew (greeneville,tn)
lol ya'll have these stats in front of u and if don't google is always the next option lol
Brian (Michigan)
Let's go back to talking about the Lions.
Michael Kim (11:13 AM)
Veda... I had some fear about this. Would have been a shame if someone's career would have ended by someone else using PED's.
Jay Crawford (11:13 AM)
nooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Chris (WV)
Busch league Skip? Come on.
Jarod Bentonville Arkansas
Hey hey hey my fiance pointed it out to me. Why so rude this morning?
Dana Jacobson (11:14 AM)
jarod i thought it was nice, thanks
Viva
I miss the puppet commercials I want to see what puppet LeBron will do with the crib to himself
Aaron (Denver)
Dana agreed...Jordan and (insert name here) would be unstoppable. I think Hakeem would have been most dominant. The Shake, the post game, and a mid range jumper...
Marcus Rochester,NY
Best duo has got to be Malone and Stockton, they didn't win, but nobody played the inside out game like them
logan (MI)
if i was stern i would tell lebron to win with grase and lose with class
Rob (Tallahassee, Fla.)
SIMPLE FACT = Shaq HAS won a ring without Kobe, Kobe has NOT won squat without Shaq.........NEXT!!!
Steve (malden mass)
Dana you know ESPN has a crush on Lebron. Give me a break. And ya'll wouldnt have brought it up if the fans didnt freak out so bad, thats the truth, i was in that game 6 conversation, eveyrone ws freaking out. And ESPN would never want to bring heat onto their boytoy unless they absolutely had to. Kobe and Wade both>>> Lebron
Jay Crawford (11:15 AM)
ok rob, shaq had dwade... come on guys. it takes a team!
Steve (Orlando, FL)
Jack would win ... he faced harder opponents
matthew (greeneville,tn)
how about some tennis talk lol
Gary, Mn.
I think its about time Cleveland starts playing basketball and STOP all that pregame skit stuff. That's High School stuff. Wheres the professionalism?
ALAN(TAMPA BAY)
HEY SKIP, DID YOU PRACTICE THAT IN FRONT OF THE MIRROR THIS MORNING?
Donald NJ
Hey that steve guy is bashing espn. the worldwide leader in sports? how dare he. Meanwhile he watches sportscenter everyday.
Dana Jacobson (11:16 AM)
steve - completely disagree. i've never once been told how to treat lebron, what to say and what not to say. i watched the game. emails were flying immediately how could he not shake hands we're talking about it. i will never change your mind, but i'm putting it out there...whether higher ups love lebron or not, doesn't matter. news coverage is news coverage.
John, Austin
is Busch league for professional beer drinkers?
Todd (ohio)
How about the browns instead???
Jason (Cleveland)
OMG here we go again. I'll tell you what Stern is going to tell him. I love you Lebron, you are the greatest ever. You are way better than michael ever was. How is that Skip? That will probably get skips blood boiling.
Jason (Chicago)
Is skip seriously saying this??? More class in the NBA??? Watch any game and you will see every act Skip just described with every dunk, every half court shot, every block, its not just Lebron.
Dan (Buffalo, NY)
Why isn't anyone talking about Dwight Howard taking the ball from his teammate to shoot a three at the buzzer of Game 6? Sounds pretty classy to me.
Billy (Beaumont, TX)
I never thought i would agree with Skip on anything, but in regards to what Lebron did along with his theatrics this year, he needs to show some class
Chester, Los Angeles
Skip Kobe & Shaq are right they could not have won without each other. Ifso what happen in 2004? Kobe atleast kept the Lakers from getting swept.
SteveFitz (Cicero, IL)
Greatest Randy Johnson monet = demolishing that bird. Hopefully PETA's not reading.
Pete (NC)
I can understand if they lost game 7 of the NBA Finals. But they didn't! He needs to get some class.
Jonathan (Atlanta)
So Scoop...if you were the Commish what would you say???? Answer the question.
Trevor (, Colorado)
Not a Skip fan....at all but to call him ignorant on anything in sports, unless its crickit, is off
seth marietta,ga
skip stop hating lebron...you must wish you were him subconciously..
ME Carr (Houston)
7.5 - Niger Morgan diving catch for the Pirates 8.5 - Joba Chamberlain's belly flop catch/double play 9 - French Open, flying winner by Monfils...getting dirty on the clay court
Phillip (Pawleys Island, SC)
how bout tell skip to put a whole city and team on his back and then lose his chance at a title and tell me how he feels after that?
Juaqin (Mike and Mike)
I take Nicklaus over Woods what about you Jay?
Jay Crawford (11:19 AM)
tiger by a smidge.
Chris (WV)
Scoop you are crazy! Agreeing with Skip on the Tiger/Jack issue is a huge mistake.
Jason (Cleveland)
What did Skip think of Jordans tongue out, or shooting free throws with his eyes closed in an actuall game. You talk abot bush league. Skip will just take any chance to put down Lebron. Jordan was a showboat and so have many other great athletes since the beginning of sports.
Hook (Southern Maryland)
I'm trying to go to the Nats game tonight. Might not make it though.
Ervin (Alameda, CA)
Wow...Serena has to have the best body in sports?
Pete (NC)
Let me know when Tiger has more majors. Until then Jack by a mile.
James ( Columbus, Ohio )
Whats up w/ your boy T.O. Skip?
john- pc bch,fl
Can't WAIT to hear what Skip has to say about T.O. as a neighbor- not gonna drink any milk during this segment.
Umor (Detroit)
I'll give Jack the edge over tiger. He had way better compitition
Dustin (New York)
Dana - news coverage is news coverage? I understand why you'd stand up for yourself. But defending journalism and the media as a whole is a losing battle. An example of financial interest dictating programming: since the NHL lost its agreement with ESPN, hockey coverage on the network has waned considerably.
Mick (Rome, GA)
I wouldn't mind having T.O. as my neighbor...I just don't want him on my team!
Dana Jacobson (11:31 AM)
But dustin, you're talking about specialty shows...no nhl tonight - access is different. i'm talking about whether or not you do a story thats negative about the face of the league. to say its only b/c fans were talking about it is silly. first of all, part of our job is to do things fans are talking about...hockey gets less pub cause fewer people talk about it. but to say we wouldn't do it b/c it was negative is just ignorant. im sorry. i'm not trying to sound obnoxious but i've been here awhile and in this business for a bit. it's just not the case with this story.
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Lol, Pete...unless Tiger gets hit by a car (God forbid) he's gonna break the majors record. He's 33 years old.
Reecie (Akron, Ohio)
I am a Cavs Fan, I love the pre-game skits, and showmanship my cavs does. I think we forget the NBA is here to entertain us. LeBron and crew have a job to do that is to entertain people. I' sorry other teams haven't decided to do more to entertain there fans. I would hate to see the NBA become another NFL (no fun league).
logan (MI)
will federer win the french this year
Steve (Malden mass)
Sorry Dana, i wasnt speaking about you. I was talking about ESPN in general and their constant oogling of Lebron. Just doesnt make sense to me, it isnt like he's jordan and clearly the best with no one even close (sorry clyde, dominique and charles), i mean alot of people think Wade is the best and ALOT MORE think Kobe is the best. And i dont think any of them are "wrong", just like anyone that thinks Lebron is the best isnt "wrong" either. (But if you thinhk anyone other than one of those 3 is the best: you are heavily medicated, in denial, or both). Then again i can see why he got all the lvoe this year, he did win the MVP award and his team had the best record in the league, where-as Kobe wasnt quite as dominant this year and looked to be pacing himself, and Wade's team around him was garbage and only won 43 games. So i apologize, it wasnt directed at you.
Dana Jacobson (11:32 AM)
steve, don't need to apologize. of course money guys love a lebron or a kobe or a florida or patriots. they bring eyeballs and ratings which is money. im just trying to say that the news dept makes a lot of decisions that are separate from that. no one is perfect but trust me when i say there are a lot of people who are fighting every day to do the right stories...
Chris (WV)
Dana, me and you in a shin-kicking contest.
Dana Jacobson (11:33 AM)
chris can i wear heels?
Vince S, LB, CA
Lets get Charles V to the Lakers
Michael Kim (11:33 AM)
Federer's looking good so far. With all the top contenders dropping -- and Monfils is a serious threat. If he doesn't win it this year, he may never win it.
James ( Columbus, Ohio )
Skip know's he and T.O. will be having a cup of tea every morning!
Dana Jacobson (11:33 AM)
james i'd pay to se that
Spencer (THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY)
Back to LeBron after game 6. Do baseball teams line up and congratulate each other after each game, especially after big games such as the world series? No, the winning team lines up and high fives their own teammates, while the loser walks away with their head down. What is the big deal?
veda13 atlanta,ga
tiger is a far superior golfer than jack...it would have just made for better drama with better player.but he still would be dominate
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
When Tiger is "on", no one beats him, even Nicklaus. Jack was a more steady player though and might edge Tiger in the long run over time.
Dana Jacobson (11:34 AM)
spencer, only one of the majors that's like that. hockey is bitter out there, they shake, basketball shakes, football not as organized but they shake.
Jeremiah (Bolivar,NY)
Skip is over the top mostly, but he is spot on about LeBron. Skip complained about James' showboating and people said c'mon Skip but look at the way LeBron continues to show poorsportsmanship
Chris (WV)
Absolutely. Can I wear flippy floppies?
matthew (greeneville,tn)
...dude don't ever dis MJ u now have no right to speak
Dana Jacobson (11:34 AM)
deal chris
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
More gutsy performance? Jameer Nelson coming back for the finals or TO coming back for the Superbowl?
Dana Jacobson (11:35 AM)
steve, to was still hurt wasn't he? drs didnt think he should be back...i think jameer's getting the you can go. so i'd go to...
John, Austin
Adrian Gonzalez 22 HR Nats 14 wins by the way, 9 guys have more HR than the Nats have wins.
Michael Kim (11:36 AM)
I love this prop bet -- but I still think the Nats end up with more than 50 wins.
Bernard (California)
Spencer- Are you kidding me? We aren't talking about what baseball does. Lebron stayed around and took the handshakes from Detroit and Atlanta. So I guess he isn't man enough to shake hands and congratulate another competitor.
Juaqin (Mike and Mike)
It's gonna be a Dwight Dwight Dwight Dwight shiny day!!
john- pc bch,fl
Billy Mays- the "voice" of the SVG puppet- close your eyes...
Hook (Southern Maryland)
Nyjer Morgan diving play- 6 Pretty routine. Joba the Hut play- 8 The belly flop is cool. Monfils play- 8
Josh (Norco, CA)
Jameer Nelson will have absolutely zero impact on the series.
Chris (WV)
I agree Skip. Good dive. Not the best.
Donald NJ
Joba is the best of the plays
Nathan (St Paul)
Whats with Scoop and Charlie, that tennis play was by far the best!!!
Andy(nebraska)
lmao i like charlie v calling out his travel.
Moderator (11:42 AM)
love that
Demetric (Orlando)
Dana even though I know you won't post this I'll say it anyway; ESPN in fact has a MAJOR cruch on Lebron. That whole "Lebron in the NFL" on the front page was too much, especially when he had to not only win the series he was playing in. When he hit the game2 winner, you had a poll on sportsnation comparing it to Jordans series winner (I guess the nation answered that loud and clear) and you had a chessy "Day after thread" after he hit that shot. Face it, ESPN is Lebons biggest fan
Hook (Southern Maryland)
Villanueva dunk- 9 SLAMMA JAMMA!!!
Dana Jacobson (11:45 AM)
demetric on the dot com story - its been talked about. not by espn people per se....maurice jones drew brought it up on our air the weekend b/f the draft. everyone can have their opinions. that's great. i'm just giving you my perspective... and espn wouldn't have all the lebron stuff if everyone out there didn't eat it up. i think that nfl/lebron story was one of the top rated that week if not the top rated/most read.
seth marietta,ga
i now have a six pack..and not coors..do to skip..everytime he says something i disagree with..i do 50 crunches..i may market this workout..thanks skip
Jay Crawford (11:45 AM)
great idea seth!
Tone (Seattle)
Dana are we sure stern wants to talk to him about skipping the media, or about the comments he made later..to me the comments he made later was much worse.
Dana Jacobson (11:46 AM)
tone my understanding is the whole deal. the non handshake, the media skip, and probably what he did say. only stern really knows...
veda13 atlanta,ga
if scoop skipped would you call that hip hop
Jeff (Agawam, MA)
I agree the Lebron NFL article was a reach- but tell me if you are ESPN you ignore the best player in the game today- they cover because viewers care- not the other way around.
Jarod Bentonville Arkansas
In a skins game in their primes? Thats different Tiger would win but there would be some expensive holes because Jack would be right there with him most holes. Oh the beauty of opinions and fantasy.
ALAN(TAMPA BAY)
I AGREE WITH SKIP. THAT FULL EXTENSION DIVE ON THE CLAY WAS DEFINITELY A TEN.
Jonathan (Atlanta, GA)
Sorry Charlie.....you get a 1 on the dunk. My 7 year old can make that dunk.
Dana Jacobson (11:48 AM)
jeff, i loved it. you have parcells and randy moss weighing in among others and actually saying the guy would be good. it's a what if story. sports is supposed to be fun remember?????
Umor (Detroit)
veda OUCH
Brian (Michigan)
Dana, it was read because LeBron in the NFL is just a ridiculous notion.
Brian (Michigan)
LeBron would probably be taking less heat if he wasn't flexing, posing, snarling, and screaming like a maniac earlier in the series.
Josh (Norco,CA)
Does anyone else thing that Roddick was robbed against Malfils in his home country?
seth marietta,ga
honestly...you have to be real unbiased to judge talent..cause the majority of people are going to go with the best player of his/her generation...unless it is just a stand out talent such as michael jordan
Jay Crawford (11:48 AM)
josh, it was a little strrange. 930 at night, too dark to play tennis.
Juaqin ( Mike and Mike )
Jay Crawf who ya got Lakers in 6?
Jay Crawford (11:49 AM)
lakers in 7.
Michael Kim (11:49 AM)
Seth - Even then you have people who question where MJ stands in the pantheon of sports and in the NBA.
Dana Jacobson (11:49 AM)
brian, sports is fun. why can't we ask a what if question. is he going to give up millions to play..no. but to hear moss say how great he thinks he'd be, even parcells say if he went at it he'd probably succeeed i found it highly entertaining and interesting. open your mind folks. really. aren't you sick of the police blotter? it's not all about roster moves sometimes its about going outside the lines!
Billy (Beaumont, TX)
The Skins game from today should have been nationally televised. That would bring alot of ratings and alot of people calling into work.
Donald NJ
Demetric, Doesn't the world have a crush on lebron. its not just espn. sorry wait. thats all you watch cause its the best station in the world. nuff said
Dana Jacobson (11:49 AM)
billy i think it's on the the golf channel
Gary, Mn
Looking forward to Jack and Tigers skins game...should be good for golf dont you agree?
Aaron (Denver)
I would love to pose the "Who would win more Majors?" question to Jack and Tiger personally...and get an honest answer
Josh (Norco, CA)
Poll: Lakers in 4 5 6 or 7. Oh. or Magic in 7.
Dana Jacobson (11:50 AM)
josh i say lakers in 7 but would love to see the magic win, great story.
Hook (Southern Maryland)
What do you think about my girl Danica Patrick saying she whould take PED's if she didn't get caught to win the Indy 500?
jBarbara Sacramento
I agree with skip about the MLB giving suspensions when the pitchers decide to deliberatly hit a player with the ball. They should also fine them. All a suspension does is give them a day off. Texieria should be suspended too. What he did was wrong, If your going to get even, get even with the person that hit you not someone who had nothing to do with it.
Dana Jacobson (11:51 AM)
hook, later said she was kidding...but i think ask most people, they'd have a hard time saying no...whether its the right thing to do or not.
Chris (WV)
LA in 6
Donald NJ
I want to live next to t.o. free tickets
Selena (Louisiana)
Totally off the subject but I would like to see LeBron Act in a movie. I watched Space Jam last night with Michael Jordan. Space Jam 2.
Sam(Itta Bena, MS)
Plus we know ESPN is Kobe's biggest fan anyway...I mean They moved an entire studio to LA just to be closer to him.
Dana Jacobson (11:51 AM)
lol sam
Mick (Rome, GA)
Dana...did you just say Lebron was going to be playing on the golf channel???
Dana Jacobson (11:52 AM)
no..the skins game with tiger, jack,
Lance (New York, N.Y.)
I was really looking forward to a Roger Federer-Gael Monfils thriller. After the first set tiebreaker, Monfils was deflated. Oh well...
seth marietta,ga
come on buffalo..he is not a registered sex offender..when you make the playoffs and dallas doesn't..make sure you help carry in boxes
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Dana, what about all the media vans swarming the neighborhood to watch T.O. do sit ups in the front yard.
Dana Jacobson (11:57 AM)
jason one day out of the guys entire life and actually ive noticed when tv crews are somewhere people swarm and like it

Dana Jacobson (12:06 PM)

Umor (Detroit)

Dana Jacobson (12:07 PM)
umor it was...played with milts kids and chets. i was very lucky. saw milt and his son years later and we reminisced
Carlos (Atlanta)
Dana, that guy demeti was right about the whole NFL thread about Lebron, it was a cleary way for ESPN to market him since they knew he wasn't going to make the Finals, and what about the "Day After thread" it was chessy
Dana Jacobson (12:08 PM)
carlos, they're supposed to put stuff up people will read. right? wouldn't be in business otherwise. i don't get why folks are hating it was fun and interesting. apparently im wired differently
James Denver
Dana in order to be Andys neighbor you would have to move to Nebraska and who wants to live there. They would force you to support the Corn Huskers!
Dana Jacobson (12:11 PM)
not moving to nebraska sorry.
John, Austin
Dana, the Pens finally found something that worked, play with 6. Maybe the Cavs should have tried it.
Dana Jacobson (12:11 PM)
john if they'd scored then i would have been furious!
Dana Jacobson (12:11 PM)
gotta go folks!!
