Something is wrong with Brad Lidge. He has already blown six saves in only a third of the season. Also, two in a row against the Dodgers. Brad didn't blow any saves last year. I wonder if he's hiding an injury?
Toby Ft.lauderdale, Fl
The Magic can't win playing five on eight. The strips gave the Lakers at least six points and took eight points from the Magic. That's a 14 point swing in a game where one point would have made the difference.
Roger Plantation, Fl
I'm so sick of everybody saying Kobe is such a GREAT player. He's a good player not great by no means, He hasn't accomplished anything since Shaq left and he comes up small on the games biggest stage. Yeah he scored 40 points in gm 1 but it took 34 shot to do so, and last night with some help frm the stripes he came within a lay up of losing a critical game at home and we're even going to mention last years finals performance. Great player, give me a break!
Moderator (9:58 AM)
Roger, come back to us...no one debates Kobe is a great player, the only question now is - how does he stack up against the game's all time greats...
Viva
So how much of a bonehead is Courtney Lee right now? Granted he's a rookie so he has that to fall back on
Michael (Kentucky)
Good Morning Dana, Jay, and crew!! Hope you had an excellent weekend!
CJ (SLC, UT) [via mobile]
Would you say, Skip, that Superman has looked more like Clark Can't in the Finals?
Jim Furyk
C'mon Tiger. Do you always have to hit those heroic shots on the 72nd hole? I mean I don't have many wins left under my belt and I really needed this one. Can't you share the wealth just a little bit?
Donald NJ
Why is Reddick in the game in overtime. Why not put Lee and alston. or nelson and lee
fayetteville, north carolina
i dont know if its me or not but is Stan Van Gundy allergic to waeing a tie?
Trevor (warner robins, ga)
hey Dwight, i mean SMALLVILLE! Superman wants his cape back! And where in the heck has the laker bench been? Someone must have said CANDYMAN'S name 5 times or something.
Ray (Maryland) [via mobile]
Courtney Lee missed a good opportunity no doubt. But at the same time turnovers and free throw shooting seemed to do the Magic in. Is there a silver lining for the Magic considering Howard is a non-factor with the Lakers length on defense but they almost won the game?
Moderator (10:05 AM)
All I can think of when I watch that Courtney Lee miss is Jackie Slater from the Super Bowl, dropping that pass, and the announcer screaming 'bless his heart, he's got to be the sickets man in America!!!'
Donald NJ
Once again my daily yankee rant. Tex for mvp.
Matt (Satellite Beach, FL)
Dont be so hard ion Lee, he just used the glass and his momentum made it a harder shot then it was.
CT (THE D)
How about them red wings? Looks like another summer with Lord Stanley!!!!!
marvin Fayetteville,NC
maybe if Stan Van Gundy wears a tie, they will finally win a Finals game
Viva
Yeah but they also seemed to ignore Howard in OT. Regardless I think Magic will win Game 3 though. This won't be a sweep.
oli tx [via mobile]
Don't remember jordan getting stuffed or losing man with gm on line
Chris (Virginia Beach)
I don't care about the Finals. I am here today to hear what Skip has to say about Tiger!!! Let's get to Tiger Talk!!!
Moderator (10:06 AM)
Chris, Tiger talk with Skip coming up later in 1st Down....
Juwan (Virginia)
If Gasol is soft then Superman is the weakest superhero ever.
Tomwit NJ [via mobile]
Superman looks more like Perry White. Great Ceasar's ghost!
Donald NJ
Great point mod. its the finals you gotta make that. Win or go home
Stevie Y (Detroit)
Everyone knows that the Stanley Cup Final is better than the NBA Final right?
Craig(Buffalo,NY)
Let me guess:Kobe, Tiger, and more KOBE. How bout Roger Federer winning the French Open
Cameron ( Orlando, FL)
Why is everyone bashing Courtney Lee, it was a good pass but he caught the ball behind the backboard, while running full speed and jumping 10 feet in the air, with only .6 seconds left. Cut him some slack it was a tough tough shot.
Moderator (10:09 AM)
c'mon Cam, he's an NBA player...make the bunny
Jay Crawford (10:09 AM)
good morning room! happy monday to all!
Joe Tex [via mobile]
The Magic did have a chance to close out the game but the Lakers played great in ot with Pau and Kobe leading the way.... 14 straight free throws to close the game.
Craig(Buffalo,NY)
Donald, Tex can BUY a MVP trophy. He can't win one
hector, florida
patrick ewing had mised an easier lay up infront of the rim against jordan and the bulls
Moderator (10:10 AM)
you're thinking of Charles Smith vs. the Bulls, hector...Ewing missed his bunny vs. the Pacers...and neither was in the FINALS
Wayne (Virginia Beach)
For all those on the Courtney Lee hatewagon this AM, check out the lead photo on SI...his body is 3/4 out of bounds on the shot...his shoulder is up against the botton of the glass....why don't you all make that shot with .06 left and see how you fare? Classic, "I can do better than the professionals" slant...that's why all of us are typing about those who are "in the game"
sean(harlem,ny)
Courtney Lee's Shot Was Easy But Not That Easy .. His Body And Momentum Was Taking Him Under The Backboard So It Wasnt Like He Just Went Straight Up And Missed His Body Was Leading Him Out Of Bounds........give'em a break PS NICE WAS TO THROW YOUR PLAYER UNDER THE BUS "STAN VAN"
Bobby (Richmond,VA)
It seems kind of hard to call that a bunny
jeff(la)
The refs are horrible. The phantom call on Pietrus and then Turk on Kobe. Ariza hip checking Turk on 2 separate occasion and no call. Then call the pushoff on Turk. The weak continuation on Fisher. I know that the Magic didnt lose because of the refs but that was ridiculous
Dana Jacobson (10:12 AM)
morning folks!
Rip Hamilton ( Motor City)
How about those Red Wings!!!! We need some Hockey Talk on 1st & 10.
Dana Jacobson (10:12 AM)
Rip not sure if you're getting it today...hockey not a skip favorite. BUT man that game was unreal!
Donald NJ
Your in the NBA you make that shot courtney lee. its the finals
Jay [via mobile]
Lee missing that shot was karma for Dwight sticking his arm through the basket to prevent a Pau poster and getting away with it!
Phil (Bridgewater)
Dwight Howard's sub par offensive skill set is really being exposed in this series.....What is Pat Ewing really there for??
Charod (pa)
jay or dana do you think this is surprisingly good laker defense in the last two games or just poor shooting and execution by orlando? i think its a little of both
Wayne (Virginia Beach)
Moderator, you're just as bad....make the bunny? Give me a break....
Dana Jacobson (10:13 AM)
charod i'm one who always believes its a combination. first quarter yesterday NO ONE hit a shot!
sean(harlem,ny)
How Dwight Howard Has Only 1 Or 2 Dunks In This Finals
Dana Jacobson (10:14 AM)
sean its a question everyone is wondering. seriously...3rd q yesterday first dunk. lakers bigs are NOT that good
Viva
Ewing was a vastly overrated center he was good but he wasn't as good as say Hakeem, Shaq etc.
Mike. Queens [via mobile]
Kobe would own against these "legends". There's no one I'd ever want with the ball down 2 with 5.3 than kobe. Look at the teeth grit. If there was a cy young closer in basketball it's mr Bryant. Mark tex = MVP
Dana Jacobson (10:14 AM)
viva, i don't think people are saying ewing was...but he wasn't just your average guy. id expect more
Kyle: (Springfield, Mo)
J.J. Reddick had to play a large number on minutes because pietrus and lee were the punching bag for the refs to layer fouls on them
Paul(Warwick,RI)
JJ Redick does'nt belong on the floor, ever,in the nba.
Mayor ( Hockey Town USA)
Maybe, when the Wings win the Cup...AGAIN, they will get the top story on Wednesday.....Wishful Thinking right?
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
Thanks for bringing up Charles Smith, Mod. I'd almost forgotten about that sad excuse of a play. At his size, that should have been a throw down with authority.
Michael (Kentucky)
Viva....Lee is not as much of a bonehead as you for calling him one. That lay up was not as easy as it looked.
Moderator (10:17 AM)
ahhhhh, Brett Favre talk in 2nd down...
Ken (Atlanta, GA)
Degree of Difficulty = 8/10
Lance (New York, N.Y.)
Figures, Brett Favre's surgery is a bigger headline than Roger Federer winning the French Open. Great...
Donald NJ
How bout Howard Putting his hand threw the basket to block a shot
john- pc bch,fl
Still say Magic in 6-I expected them to lose at Staples. All they've got to do is win the NEXT one.
Rich Miami, fl [via mobile]
How bout doc halladay? Grienke or halladay cy young in the AL right now?
sean(harlem,ny)
I Say The Layup Before or After He Missed (In The Paint)When He Should Of Used The Backboard Was A More Makeable Layup
Dunn . Philly [via mobile]
I'm so sick of Brett Brett Brett. I'm glad Marino didn't take 15 years to retire. He's like a hollywood wannabe celeb. Brett needs to hear bout Brett. Remember 4th n 26 brettie boy.
Jarvis Chicago il
That was a great play draw up by Stan Van But he should have had a better athlete in for that play lie maybe Petreus or Lewis
Paul(Warwick,RI)
Courtney Lee should've hit the lay-up,both times he had chances atthe end of the game.
Umor (Detroit)
Dwight not gripping the ball when he goes to the hole.
jason thomas (Huntsville AL)
I think Skip And Rob are over analyzing the Magic, the found the Lakers weakness last night and thats maintaning intensity. the longer the series goes the more the Magic can potentialy wear them down. It aint over till its over.
JBarbs (Allston, MA)
Dear Dana: We want Glauber!!! We want Glauber!!! Get to tha choppa!
Tom (River North)
Brett Favre talk? Yay! Let's talk about a retired player having surgery instead of all the great sports events going on right now: Tiger's win, Federer's win, NBA and NHL Finals...
Trevor (warner robins, ga)
Anyone remember the last days of Montana, thats what Favre is going to do to his legacy. He may have the right to keep playing, but his best days are behind him and if you dont think you can win, why bother? I just dont see him leading any team to a ring. I think he would make the almighty Patriots look human.
James Denver
The MOP went Hollywood got a haircut! Tried to clean himself up for the Finals.
fayetteville, north carolina
Stan Van Gundy put on a tie!!!!!!!
Jay Crawford (10:23 AM)
you like you nba head coaches in ties eh?
kyle: (Springfield, Mo)
Favre needs to stay retired. He is just tarnishing his great career. He can not play at a top level and his interceptions continue to rise. If he come back he is only going to be worse.
phoenix [via mobile]
R u kidin me lee should of made that shot. We b talkin about a tied series.
oli tx [via mobile]
Lee missed a difficult yet shot he had 2 make man wed be watching kobe makin excuses 4 getting beat on play but oh well
Donald NJ
The farve saga continues
Lance (New York, N.Y.)
Please tell Skip and Rob that Mickael Pietrus couldn't stay on the court because of foul trouble. That's the only reason why J.J. Redick was on the court at all.
David (Kansas City)
Stan and Lee did'nt lose that game Skip.20 TO's by the Magic lost that game for them
candace kc,mo
viva im with you. who is p.ewing? yeah he did his job but what has he won? that's why howard sucks. just tell me when howard is in the dunk contest.
Jay Crawford (10:25 AM)
good pt. they lost that game countless times before the missed layup. make your free throws and dont turn it over 20 times!
Mike. State college [via mobile]
Dana. Whose mr clutch, tiger or Kobe?
Freddy Byrd:East Point,GA [via mobile]
C'mon Kobe is my boy and everything and I want him to get a ring without Shaq but if Lamar Odom's stats don't add up it definately won't be a sweep. But big ups to Courtney Lee we needed that fluke, everybody knows you don't give Kobe a second chance to seal the deal in one game
Dana Jacobson (10:25 AM)
mike, kobe
Donald NJ
Hey Jay How bout them yankees.
Paul(Warwick,RI)
Pavel Datsyuk,after game 4 said"HOCEY IS'NT FUN TO WATCH,IT TAKES A LOT OF BEER."
chris rockledge, fl
why doesn't anyone mention that there should have been a goaltend call at the end of the game.. pau gasol's hand clearly hit the rimm when courtney lee attempted the last minute layup.. if anyone looks closely the rim and backboard is slightly pushed up which could have caused the shot to go off.. NOT a Magic fan either..just an avid NBA fan
Jay Crawford (10:25 AM)
1-1 against the rays in this set...not overwhelming.
Dana Jacobson (10:25 AM)
paul, great quote. great to have him back!
Donald NJ
Lester Pitched a hell of a game. Red Sox rotation is for real. you were right Jay
Demitry (NJ) [via mobile]
Lakers wlll sweep the Magic because Kobe will turn it up and Dwight Howard is being defended very well
Umor (Detroit)
Datsyuk the Wings best player. He's no 1 on offense and After lidstrom. he's the best defensive player.
Craig(Buffalo,NY)
Thank You Tom. I care more about Pavel's injury than farve's
Jay Crawford (10:26 AM)
they are deep donald. it will be a fun fall in boston and ny!
Dana Jacobson (10:26 AM)
craig i missed the earlier back and forth, but good for you. smart man
Ray (Arlington, VA)
Let me guess. Skip on Tiger..."I'm not convinced. Let me see Tiger come from behind at Bethpage..." TW has only been in the top 10 in every stroke play event since his return and won 2 of them. It's only a matter of time before he's better than he's ever been.
Philip (Tampa, Florida, USF)
We are tired of Farve, he is a great player and if he announces he is joining a team, awesome, report that. Until then, please for the love of jeebus report on sports that are going on, it was a huge SPORTS weekend for events actually being played out
Earl, Auburn, AL
I do not normally do this. However, I agree with Skip 100% on the Courtney Lee attempt at the end of regulation. I would like to see those in the media who think it is an easy shot to try it. Plus, Skip is right on the money on VanGundy playing J.J. Reddick so much. Again I have not always agreed with Skip including when he defended Jerry Jones during the '90s. But I agree with him on Courtney Lee.
Ron Balzack (Grundle, LA)
Dana, do you think Kate should take Jon back on Jon & Kate plus 8?
Dana Jacobson (10:28 AM)
ron, i don't watch and unlike many folks out there have no opinion on it. sorry
Kevin detroit mi [via mobile]
Bettman should focus on a franchise like the wings instead of two players who lose composure and fall short of the cup. Thats how i would market my league. Be like detroit
Cowboy Ron (Piston, PA)
Dana, was wondering if you think that Candace Parker is a role model for young women in how quickly she is coming back from pregnancy and returning to work. Whatever happened to staying home to raise your children?
Dana Jacobson (10:29 AM)
cowboy ron, lots of moms work and go back right away. who's to say what's right
jason thomas (Huntsville AL)
And I hate to say it but JJ DAG ON REDDICK lost that game for them and Skip is right about SVG what the hell was Stan thinking. You got Skip to My Lou on the bench. REALLY? are you serious?
Bobby (Richmond, VA)
Phoenix, do u think Lee practices that shot?
Viva
Yes but at least Montana retired with far more dignity than Favre will and he only retired once.
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
Favre has never had a RB behind him as good as Peterson. He might do very well with the Vikes if he doesn't have to be the main guy.
Marvin (Chicago, IL)
Ask skip if he is ready to change his tune about Tiger being "the greatest front runner in history?" Tiger came back from 4 shots down before teeing off and and was 2 shots down with 5 holes to play. Time ti give Tiger some credit Skip.
carnalito la,ca [via mobile]
You guys are lakers haters !!! It's all about the lakers 4 in a row sweep let's go lakers...
Jay Crawford (10:33 AM)
no laker hate here!
Atlanta Ga [via mobile]
Also no more Favre talk he is washed up! Maybe some Matt Ryan talk would be more interesting!
Donald NJ
Farve is finished. He will not last a whole season. Body is failing him at this point in his carrer
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
I'm a Viking fan and I'm not tired of Favre right now. He is the best QB option available and I want him signing a contract soon.
JBarbs (Allston, MA)
Somebody shut that clown Cowboy Ron up. Let's talk about sports, not burning social issues. This isn't Nightline. Anyone else with me?
Jeff(jax)
YOu mean rafer" I am 2-20 in the series" Alston. They need to cancel halftime becuase I think it messes up his rhthym
Craig(Buffalo,NY)
Can anyone tell me if the Diamondbacks and Padres are still playing?
Jay Crawford (10:34 AM)
ridiculous game! how about 9 hitless innings for the dbacks pen???
Andrew, Moorhead, MN
I am thirteen and I could pf made the shot that Courtney Lee missed
R Mom (Spring Valley, NY)
I am ashamed (not too ashamed, though)to say it, but I missed Tiger's comeback pounce because I was watching the LPGA's State Farm Classic.
Umor (Detroit)
Why was reddick out there. Thats the best ball handler you got left on your team.
Jay Crawford (10:35 AM)
great ?? umor...wow!
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
Not a Laker hater but more of a Laker 'I-Don't-Carer' here. Only three more weeks until the NBA season ends, right?
Selena (Louisiana)
I seriously doubt the Lakers sweep man. Orlando is not going down without a fight. I expect a better game 3 from the bench since they are at home.
Mike (MA)
Skip is right. Lee caught the ball when it was behind the backboard and below the rim at his waist. The timing and the pass were not in sync.
jeff(jax)
Howard is getting tripled teamed. What more can the guy do? He is making the good pass. The Magic guards were 6-29 last night. If they start making the shots Howard will be able to score. The Lakers bigs arent that good individually but as a unit make it tough.
john- pc bch,fl
Anybody notice that Phil isn't complaining about the refs? That's because he's using the "hack-a-Shaq" defense- so he EXPECTS fouls. he's got 18 to give- between pao, bynum,& odom (not that they will CALL them on pao)
Jay Crawford (10:36 AM)
you're right. i wouldnt be shocked with a magic otown sweep. although 2-1 is more likely.
Jake, UT [via mobile]
Consistent home cookin at the Staples Center, oh wait LA gets that advantage everywhere. Sad to say but it's gonna be a long few games in Orl.
Umor (Detroit)
Bret Farve, come back to the high road, AND STAY RETIRED.
Trevor (warner robins, ga)
Anyone read the SI article on C.Holdsclaw? I admire her courage and her strength gives me hope because im having a tough time myself right now and its good to see others rise from the ashes.
Bobby (Richmond, VA)
Andrew, come on, you know that was a tough shot

the MAgic shot lights out from the three point line against the CAVALIERS but those same shots are not falling now.WHat happen to their so called inside presence?
Trevor (warner robins, ga)
good answer President Bosh!
Lance (New York, N.Y.)
Man, you mean to tell me Chris Bosh has been continuing great internet stuff AFTER that All-Star video? Incredible...I should go check out his stuff
Selena (Louisiana)
Dwight can't get a good shot off because the guards aren't hitting any open shots. Once that happens than they triple team of Dwight will stop.
Blake Chicago IL
You can't blame Coutney Lee for losing the game when it shouldn't even have come down to him making that shot. The Magic had plenty of chances to win the game before that.
Cowboy Ron (Piston, PA)
dana, I'm just saying that raising your own kids in this day and age is the most important thing you can do. Candace will be on the road most of the summer. there is no substitute for a parent raising their own child each day.
Dana Jacobson (10:45 AM)
cowboy ron it is. But we don't ask this same question of tiger or the baseball players out there. We don't know what arrangements she's made. Maybe someone will bring her baby wtih the team on the road. I know moms who stay home, moms who work, same for dads. As long as your kids know they're loved that's the most important thing.
robert from chicago
it wasnt jackie slater who dropped the pass in the super bowl..jackie smith..slater was an ot for the rams..
Moderator (10:45 AM)
My bad, Robert, you're right
R Mom (Spring Valley, NY)
Dana, did you see how elated Roger Federer was after winning the French? He DID acknowledge that he was biding his time for the day he didn't have to face Nadal at Roland Garros...Sounds a little hollow.
Dana Jacobson (10:45 AM)
R Mom, hollow or realistic???
john- pc bch,fl
This is Orlando's 1st play-off, this is a "learning curve" Be patient.
Dana Jacobson (10:46 AM)
John, i think it was dennis scott that said this last week, danger is you may never get back there. i hear you on the learning curve...but you're not guaranteed another shot
Tom (River North)
Does Cowboy Ron not realize how many couples work just to make ends meet? I know that's not an issue for Candace, but why should anyone have to give up what they've worked hard for all their lives? Let it go and let's talk some sports!
Dana Jacobson (10:47 AM)
Tom you know we talk all things...we talked chick flicks last week. will ferrell. but bring on the sports
correy, atlanta,ga [via mobile]
u can't blame Lee by himself 4 tha loss. they had problems executing down tha stretch. No pg in tha game n crunch time & they still almost won....u tell me!!
Andrew, Moorhead,MN
Lf you were Roger Federer would you have hit the guy who ran on the court with your racket
Craig(Buffalo,NY)
How bout what Doc Halladay has done his last two starts. AL Cy Young is in the bag for him.
Dana Jacobson (10:47 AM)
correy you're right BUT the final shot was in his hands. That part, you can't deny
Axel, MS [via mobile]
How can we make sure as NBA fans that we are getting complete honesty and no bias from the refs and the league? I've been watching the playoffs and it looks like if you are not Lebron or Kobe you are not getting the same touchi fouls that they get, to me that is disrespectfull for the game of basketball.
Dana Jacobson (10:48 AM)
axel, you can't. they're human.
Bobby richmond, va
Speaking of movies, is anyone going to see Year One?
Dana Jacobson (10:48 AM)

the only difference with the Magic in this series ad the Cavs series is that the magic are not maing shots simple

Can a man breastfeed Dana?No and I will tell you why. It hurts to boil the nipples.
JOE - NJ
I don't mind hearing you talk about Brett Favre, but he does need attention like a little 5 year old. I can't stand the guy, just do us all a favor and leave football already
Dana Jacobson (10:50 AM)
tomwit, i'll leave it after this. not everyone breastfeeds. and you can pump. ok seriously, this has even reached a new curve for me

Dana, we've got at LEAST two more shots.
Dana Jacobson (10:51 AM)
John, finals you think? i only ask b/c in my kings days i remember that talk and they never got back to the western conf finals. i know they didn't make the finals..just saying they were pretty good. injuries happen, other teams get stronger.

The difference in the NBA finals is: The Lakers have 3 athletic bigs to bother Howard, who has no offense anyway.
Dana Jacobson (10:53 AM)
paul, we're seeing that. but did you think they'd have the impact they're having..no dunk till 3rd yesterday? and it isn't even the bigs who are forcing him into turnovers

The Lakers are on pace of winning a championship, Detroit Red Wings are ready to hoist up Lord Stanley, Yankee continuing to manufacture Steinberg's dollars and Tiger, well, being Tiger. Have the sport world return to normalcy?

3 games at home, Orlando has to capitalize on that. Hit some shots! Alston needs to suck it up and play like Skip to my Lou.

Putting LeBrick James in the same sentence as Kobe or Jordan, is like putting Drew Brees in the same Sentence as Montana and Elway. It just should not be done!
Zach (Hattiesburg, MS)
Ok Dana, if we're bringing on the sports talk, where's the love for NCAA Road to Omaha? Far too many great story lines for the network that carried every game to not give at least 5 min. Plus Hattiesburg finally has something other than Brett to talk about!

Jarvis columbus,ga [via mobile]
Dana, do u think that edwin Jackson of the Detroit tigers is deserving of the all star game? I do and for the record I think he's being overlooked as a good young pitcher.
Jay Crawford (10:56 AM)
ha! yeah, i wasnt sold either. kinda cheesy
sean(harlem,ny)
When Skip"I Shop At Payless"Bayless Talks Why He Always Have To Ask The Person He's Talking To "Do You Agree Am I Right"Its Like He's Trying To coax or Entise Them To Agree With Him Or Seem Like He's Right With The Comments He Makes
Donald NJ
Twins yankees ALCS
Dana Jacobson (10:57 AM)
jarvis, last i looked all the tigers seemed to be getting overlooked. although in fairness dont really remember pitching order. i don't know jacksons stats off the top of my head but the midwest clubs always get a little less love, just happens. porcello was great last month, verlander's back on track, grandersons had some monster moments.
Paul(Warwick,RI)
Axel is completely right. The refs called 4 "SUSPECT" fouls against Turgolu, and Pietrus in the 4th qtr.everytime kobe drove to the middle.
josh in ms [via mobile]
Dana please answer this. My LSU tigers are in the CBWS and no love at all. No love for the UT horns either. Why isn't the CBWS getting the love it deserves.
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
I can't wait until Cutler's first three INT game to listen to him whine about wind conditions or something else. Big talent but also a big baby.
Dana Jacobson (10:58 AM)
josh, honestly may just be timing of when we could get guests and avail space in the show. we did some cws last week on a monday its rough
flavinc71 elizabeth NJ [via mobile]
all of these corny comments and questions being asked and none of my comments can get a response!? P.S. Bosh is corny! stick to basketball!
john- pc bch,fl
How bout "Land of the Lost", Dana?ESPN's ben promoting it heavily. They give y'all tickets?
Jay Crawford (10:58 AM)
yeah, you can almost see that one coming like a blustery day in chicago in january.
Donald NJ
I'm starting to shake i need my football fix (non farve) Where's cover 2?
Dana Jacobson (10:59 AM)
john, land of the lost looks AWFUL to me too. wasn't a fan of the original either
Jay Crawford (10:59 AM)
hold tight donald... its coming...
Blake Chicago
Jay do you think something needs to be done about all the homers at the new Yankee stadium or that they should just leave it the way it is? I still think they will be able to get any pitcher they want because they are the Yankees and they can pay the money.
Umor (Detroit)
Jackson Porchello and Verlander. We GOt Pitching in TigerTown.
Jay Crawford (10:59 AM)
i do blake, but what can they do? the stands are built right behind the fence. pretty wild deal.
Dana Jacobson (11:00 AM)
definitely. all star love would be great, but i'll take a spot in the world series
Tom (River North)
How are we supposed to take college baseball seriously when they use metal bats?
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
Kyle: (Springfield, Mo)
Orlando still is in the Finals. They need to take all of their home games but they will have their fans behind them when it gets crucial.
ray warner robins ga [via mobile]
Will everyone finally see da lakers r actually a good team and not just kobe. Give king james dat team. He wud have two rings by now
BEN, Akron, Ohio
Which lame duck stars in Cleveland is more likely to leave, Lebron James or Brady Quinn?
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
You know I really have to question if Dwight Howard is a big time player. He's been AWOL at the end of two important playoff games now. He's got lots of talent, no question, but doesn't seem to be the take charge player the team needs. You can't have Jimmy Olsen doing Superman's job.
Fayetteville,NC [via mobile]
You know lakers are going to win....because good teams find a way to win when they don't play their best
Trevor (warner robins, ga)
Its easy to defend a big man who has no moves down low or has trouble passing out of the double team. Tim Duncan doesn't have those issues.
Jay Crawford (11:04 AM)
good point!
Elijah, Long Beach, Florida
Jay, can we talk about college football? Lets talk about the real Superman in the state of Florida, Tim Tebow. Only the real Superman can bounce off 3 to 5 would be defenders off of him.
Jay Crawford (11:05 AM)
he is a freak thats for sure! but can the gators win it all???
Roy C, Hanford Cali [via mobile]
Hey SKIP! Can u please tell me why people think LeBron is better then Kobe? Has everyone forgot about the 81 point game, or when shaq was on the team who was making all the clutch shots while teams invented hak-a-shaq???
captain (texas)
the germans didnt bomb pearl harbor!!!
Jay Crawford (11:06 AM)
hey captain, go see animal house, then get back to johnny!
Matt (Norfolk, VA)
Tim Tebow throws like a girl
Chesapeake, Va [via mobile]
How does Kobe let Hedo block that last second shot? Great defensive play, but Kobe is suppose to provide better offensive, since he is been given the best closer title. Joe G
Jay Crawford (11:06 AM)
4 defenders closed on him and hedo blocked it from behind. great dee by turk
Bobby Richmond, VA
captain, minor detail
flavinc71 elizabeth NJ [via mobile]
wow I finally surfaced! don't you think Lebron would be a great fit in jersey with Devin harris and carter and lopez? the other nets owners should make Jay Z get Lebron to jersey! aren't they friends?
Rob (Tallahassee, Fla.)
college ball is one thing, wait to see of Tebow makes it as a pro before you start calling him Superman
Lance (New York, N.Y.)
As a Nets fan, thank you, Mark Cuban! It's thanks to him that the Nets have a wonderful man in Devin Harris.
Knox, New England
Hey Rob Parker, David Ortiz says he wants his glasses back.
AntBaLL (Lewisville GA)
Dana and Jay when u gonna make mention that Magic never won without Kareem, but Kareem(Lew Alcindar) won without him....kinda like Kobe/Shaq
Jay Crawford (11:08 AM)
thats been stated.
captain (texas)
well sorry i never saw that movie.. .to busy serving my country!!
Jay Crawford (11:09 AM)
well kudos and thanks to you! we are all grateful! but you should check it out. hillarious movie!
derek (iowa)
Big Papi or Big Pop Up
Jay Crawford (11:09 AM)
pop up.
Donald NJ
Magic Need Wade in 2010.
Jay Crawford (11:10 AM)
that would be a sick line up!
Joe - NJ
Jay - Ken Griffey Jr a top 5 Baseball Player ever??? I think so, what do you think?
Jay Crawford (11:10 AM)
top 20...not 5... healthy, top 10, maybe top 5!
Jay Crawford (11:10 AM)
great question tho joe!
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
I thought the new nickname was Big O-fer.
Ray (Arlington, VA)
Ooops forgot Devin is now with the Nets! My bad.
Phil (Bridgewater)
Nobody has ever claimed Dwight is an offensive powerhouse.....so why do we rag on him when he doesnt perform well....thats the equivalent of getting frustrated when Yao doesnt play D or run up and down the court
Dana Jacobson (11:12 AM)
phil offensive powerhouse no, but better than this on the biggest stage, yes. if you want to win
chris (cleveland) [via mobile]
What will it take to get Chris Bosh to Cleveland to play with LBJ?
Dana Jacobson (11:13 AM)
chris, money
derek (iowa)
maybe dwight howard should find a phonebooth to crawl into!!
Dana Jacobson (11:13 AM)
derek, nice
R Mom (Spring Valley, NY)
Dana, Roger Federer is a great (possibly the greatest) player, I was just shocked he said "[Nadal] can't be there all the time." He should want to beat the best since he is the best. He basically admitted he doesn't think he can beat Nadal at Roland Garros. Lacks competitive fire. If Nadal had this attitiude, there wouldn't have been the greatest Wimbledon final when he finally overtook Roger.
Dana Jacobson (11:14 AM)
R Mom, i hear you. but truth is nadal until this year unbeatable there! i think there's part sarcasm part reality in there. its ok to know your weaknesses. but i do hear what you're saying
Don (Detroit MI)
Dana, How about them Wings!?!? I say they take game 6 if they play even close to the effort they had the other night. 5 in 12 years....Dynasty??
Dana Jacobson (11:15 AM)
don, it was a thing of beauty. and yes on 6...but man pens were tough last year in game 6 at home, i expct it again. tomorrows show we're doing something on sports dynastys over the last decade
Gary, Minnesota
You go skip I agree. By the way Dana...Twins or Tigers for AL Central?
Dana Jacobson (11:16 AM)
gary, you know i am biased. BUT trying not to be i'm going to say tigers b/c they're on top now and are incredibly balanced. i know silly reason but if all things remain equal, i'll go with detroit. they need to step it up against teams like the red sox
Bobby (richmond)
The Wings arent a dynasty. are they?
Dana Jacobson (11:17 AM)
bobby, better description top sports franchises over the last decade. dynastic in success if not wining it all.
Dana Jacobson (11:18 AM)
we're sort of playing with the dynasty word..
flavinc71 elizabeth NJ [via mobile]
hey dana do you think plaxico will be a jet when its all said in done?
Dana Jacobson (11:18 AM)
flavinc71, this upcoming week will be a huge sign. his attny trying to work out a deal. jets want him it appears
Chris (Ohio)
I'm sorry, but I really do not care to sit and watch LA sweep the Magic, it is like the excitement of the entire playoffs has been destroyed since Cleveland did not make it. Even if Orlando would come back and win, who cares because all the talk would be about LA losing it and not Orlando winning it
Steiny (NYC)
nice word dana.....dynastic!
Dana Jacobson (11:19 AM)
steiny, long time. welcome back
Barron (Boca Raton FL)
Instead Cleveland just settling with Chris Bosh if they are interested why not grab dwayne wade as well. Have a big 3 in Cleveland.
Dana Jacobson (11:19 AM)
barron, they'd all want max deals. they'd be the only 3 players on the team i think. remember bostons guys had been around a bit and could play with money more. these guys are going into that big contract year
Paul(Warwick,RI)
The Wings need home ice to beat the Pens, see you in Detroit for game 7.PENS IN 7
Jarvis Chicago Il
the Bears should go after Plaxico
Jarvis Chicago Il
Barron if they pay all 3 of those guys they would only have enough room under the cap to sign you and your neighbors
Donald NJ
The Bears should win the NFC North
Dana Jacobson (11:22 AM)
donald shoulda, woulda, coulda....things aren't always as they appear
imari, las vegas
do you think Greg Ellis will sign with a team in the NFC East like the Redskins
Dana Jacobson (11:22 AM)
imari - last i heard pats were very interested. so east, but the afc vs nfc.
Phil (Bridgewater)
Why would any team go after Plax.....The chances of him even playing this season are slim to none
Dana Jacobson (11:23 AM)
phil no one would go after him till the legal stuff was done/known.
Ari (Los Altos, CA)
Fed was 1-0 against Nadal on clay this year. How then can you claim he would have had no shot at beating him had they met in the french?
Dana Jacobson (11:23 AM)
Ari, don't know if anyone claimed no shot but look at past history and at the french open nadal was unstoppable
Kevin (Houston,Tx)
do yall think the next game in the Stanley Cup Finals will be another blow out?
Dana Jacobson (11:24 AM)
kevin, no
G MONEY, PHILADELPHIA
DANA REMEMBER I TOLD YOU THAT THAT MOVE WAS GOING TO RUIN RAFER ALSTON'S EGO
Dana Jacobson (11:26 AM)
gmoney neither he or jameer got love yesterday. and i still say he needs to man up and get over it.
Trevor (warner robins, ga)
Its sad when the Stanley Cup finals are better than the NBA finals. lol
Dana Jacobson (11:26 AM)
trevor not sad at all!!!
SteveFitz (Cicero, IL)
Maybe the Cavs can sign Wade, Bosh, Yao, then trade for Nash and Amare and then maybe James can win his title. Or even maybe Kobe can opt out of LA too and sign for the league minimum to play with and get James his title.
Dana Jacobson (11:26 AM)
stevefitz - perfect!
cheesy (seattle)
wings arent that great just better than the penguins
Dana Jacobson (11:27 AM)
cheesy - seriously?
Selena (Louisiana)
I don't know cheesy. I saw that shut-out on the Pens.
Craig(Buffalo,NY)
Dana, it's sad that you guys aren't covering it.
Dana Jacobson (11:29 AM)
craig, covering what?
cheesy (seattle)
Sorry Dana I just laid down the bottle, I wasn't thinking before I said that.
Dana Jacobson (11:29 AM)
lol cheesy
Jesse(illinois) [via mobile]
Do think the lakers are going to sweep the magic?
Dana Jacobson (11:30 AM)
jesse, i don't...
Josh Dallas Texas [via mobile]
Dana does this series go back to LA?
Dana Jacobson (11:30 AM)
josh, yes.
Bobby (richmond)
I like how Jay and Dana have to put up with us in the chat saying how their not covering something enough
Craig(Buffalo,NY)
Just wait I got hockey analysis right here.
Christopher Downes (nashville Tn.)
skip said if tiger ever came from behind on a sunday to win he would admit tiger is the best !
Tom (Austin, TX)
I love college baseball but do agree the metal bats have got to go! Please!
Dana Jacobson (11:33 AM)
craig, you're preaching to the choir. we don't all get what we want.
cmj, california [via mobile]
Dana, the lakers may not be THAT good but they are that tall that athletic and that strong to prevent an offensively limited big man from getting to the rim.
Dana Jacobson (11:34 AM)
cmj , well they're doing it so i guess you're right. i just didn't expect it
Rosco (Phoenix)
the wings are great your insane cheesy the wings have 4 lines of great players and i don't like the wings
Dana Jacobson (11:36 AM)
rosco cheesy admitted he was a little crazy sayin that
Chris (Ohio)
Dana, do you know what happened to the running back from Auburn that the Bengals got in the draft 2 years ago that got hurt before he ever played
Dana Jacobson (11:37 AM)
chris i don't sorry
Craig(Buffalo,NY)
Dana, who wins Game 6 tomorrow? Penguins or your Red Wings?
Dana Jacobson (11:37 AM)
craig i'm so torn. detroit was robotic almost saturday night if they bring that, wings. BUT i saw how tough pens fought last year and they weren't as good. I fear its pens and we're going 7
Anthony (Miami, FL)
Dana, have you had the chance to interview Rich Rod yet? If so, what's ur take on him?
Dana Jacobson (11:39 AM)
anthony i have a few times and talked with him without cameras. Take in what way? The man knows the game..he wants to win. I think he's overlooked some important michigan traditions and needs to do better with some of that. you can change a program but still respect some winning traditions.
