Welcome to the SVP chat...Scott should be in studio in a matter of moments so get your questions in now...
ESPN Radio.com (1:36 PM)
Looks like Scott is stuck trying to find a parking spot. Any questions for the moderator or the intern?
ESPN Radio.com (1:38 PM)
I would lean towards Morneau...he's a batting champion and he is also 2 years younger than Youk. Although I would actually prefer Teixeira
Kevin Cobb (Washington D.C.)
Hey Scott, big fan here. I was just wondering what would you say is your favorite assignment you have covered in your broadcasting career? GO Terps!
ESPN Radio.com (1:39 PM)
If Scott were here, he would defintiely say nothing beats working on the radio show because of the awesome people that help him.
Michael B (Owensboro, KY)
Is there anyone that is more important for the Magic than Skip to my Lou? I mean, I don't think there is anyone for the Lakers that can guard him straight up, and the more focus they put on him, the less focus that's on Hedo and Rashard. He's the glue
Scott Van Pelt (1:42 PM)
You really think that? I was curious/concerned about how they would bring Jameer Nelson back into the rotation. It's obvious that it has been trickier that Van Gundy thought it would be because he lost Alston for a minute. He was great the other night, but he's not the most important player on the Magic. Dwight Howard is...
Scott Van Pelt (1:45 PM)
Anytime the British Open is at St. Andrews it's hard to discribe what that place is like. But it's a pretty remarkable spot to visit every 5 years.
Ashley (SLC)
Scott - I have a travel question. I am heading out of town for 12 days to attend a wedding and do some other vactioning... how many pairs of shoes do you think I should take
Scott Van Pelt (1:47 PM)
I need to know where you are vacationing and what type of wedding it is. For instance, you might need a pair of white bucks...always a classy touch. If you're going to the beach, flip-flop, a pair of running shoes and 1 decent dress shoe should certainly be enough.
Kyle (minneapolis)
Great work on Tiger '10, thats all i have to say SVP.
Scott Van Pelt (1:48 PM)
Tiger has a second kid...he needs the money...go buy it today
Andrea (NY)
How hard is it for people to try to be objective and/or downplay their love for teams they grew up rooting for once they start working for ESPN? (especially commentators)
Scott Van Pelt (1:50 PM)
I think people assume it's harder to do than it is. Take Jay Bilas for example, I don't think anyone is better on Duke than he is, and he played and coached their. Sure I lock myself in my office during Maryland games, but from 11-12 you take off your Terps hat and put on your objective hat. We're all from somewhere, and we're all fans...
Cosmo (Anytown, USA)
We all know Tiger wins next week, so who does he beat and by how many strokes?
Scott Van Pelt (1:53 PM)
I love how he goes from ? to ! based on one round. If he drives it like he did at Memorial it isn't close. I'll give you Casey, Harrington, maybe a Shawn O'Hare as people who might play well. But let's be honest, idetifying someone who is going to play well in the US Open is like hanicapping a 3rd world election. Who thought Rocco was going to play well last year at Torrey Pines...besides Rocco?
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Does SEC stand for Sanction Every College? Why does it seem like that conference gets into more trouble with the NCAA than any other one?
Scott Van Pelt (1:54 PM)
Someone suggested to mean it stands for Sure Everyone Cheats. Winning means as much as it does there, people will always have their toes right up against that line.
Cosmo (Anytown, USA)
Did you catch Pelfrey talking trash to Utley last night? Utley says nothing and hits the game winning HR. Do you think the Mets will learn to win something first, then talk later?
Scott Van Pelt (1:56 PM)
three words..."World Bleeping Champs" (that's an Utley quote from the victory parade in case you don't remember)
MJ (Lakeville, MN)
Twins were ripped apart for picking Mauer over Mark Prior. Can the GM finally give the world a big "told you so!"??
Scott Van Pelt (1:57 PM)
They could have done that long, long ago.
Scott Van Pelt (1:58 PM)
Sorry I was late, US Open next week. Ryen Russillo is not as hot as I am, but ask him how much he shoulder shrugs. He's totally on the juice.
ESPN Radio.com (1:59 PM)
Thanks for all of the quesitons. Listen to the show from 2-4 on ESPN Radio.com. Mitch Kupchak, Peter Gammons, Rocco Mediate and Chris Paul will be joining Mike and Scott today.
