Chig, You placed pretty well in c-bus( 4th for the 9th seed ), you upset instinct, how do you feel going into Dallas?
Chig (4:00 PM)
Definitely feel pretty confident going into Dallas. I think we can do it again.
Eric (Cleveland)
How did Classic do at the 4-team LAN and did it boost your confidence going into Columbus?
Chig (4:01 PM)
At the LAN, we played really good on Saturday and Sunday. Most of the series were really close. Going into the tournament from that LAN, we were really confident knowing that we could place really good.
Warhawk3025 (Lawrence, KS)
What does it feel like to catch fire at a live tournament like Classic did at Columbus and upset a heavily favored team like Instinct?
Chig (4:03 PM)
It feels great catching fire going into a tournament, because everyone doesn't expect you to do well. When you do catch fire and do well and pull the upset, it's just great.
david (mn)
what separates pros from semipros?
Chig (4:05 PM)
Attitudes. Some of the semipros have an attitude that they're going to get better. If they drop someone from their team, they're going to place better. But if you just stick with the people, you'll get better instead of dropping people.
Ryan (CT)
How did it feel taking out instinct?
Chig (4:06 PM)
After the third game, we lost game 1 and won the next two games pretty easily. After that game, we thought we knew we could do it. And then we won game 4 and pulled off the upset.
Tim (Chicago)
What do you think went differently at Columbus to allow you have such a high placing?
Chig (4:06 PM)
We were all working really well together. We had a sick team shot and our team work was perfect, it seemed like.
Brownie (Lexington, SC)
How were y'all able to surprise all the hyped up teams like Status Quo and Instinct? We're y'all just playing really well in the tournament or did y'all really practice and strategize in between tournaments?
Chig (4:07 PM)
We played Status Quo at the LAN before the tournament. We played them and beat them there. We were really confident there and go into the series and beat them. We were really confident going into those series. We were just on fire against Instinct. We just said we needed to do what we were doing and we'd come out for me.
Eric Hurley (Grand Island, Nebraska)
How did you become pro...like how did you get noticed?
Chig (4:08 PM)
At first, before the first tournament in '08 at the Meadowlands, it was online. I guess I was known for my sniper. I got 9th place in San Diego. That's just how it all started.
Travis (New Jersey)
Chig, What have you been doing to practice and how are you going to prepare for Dallas?
Chig (4:09 PM)
Since Columbus, we haven't gotten to practice as a team. We've been taking a couple week break before we start. We'll probalby get a LAN or two in before Dallas and then just probably play as much as we can online.
adam carroll (ireland)
how is team classic working out compared to ambush?
Chig (4:11 PM)
Classic, we're all individually skilled and we can each go off and get hot. Unlike other teams I've been on. Where we had some anchors on the team that would set us back, I guess. But on Classic, we are all individually skilled and can catch fire at any time.
Gonzo (Oak Lawn, Illinois)
How do you feel on ur team's solid finish at Columbus? And how are goin to start preparing for Dallas?
Chig (4:12 PM)
We were all really happy after the Instinct series and getting No. 4. There was a couple of things that we could have played better against Final Boss that we think we could have done. But overall, we were really happy.
Sylvain (calgary)
Hey Chig, What sports games do the guys on your team play? Any chance you guys will go after the Madden challenge down the line?
Chig (4:13 PM)
Best Man I think I've seen him play one. I think it was an NBA game. But the rest of us pretty much just play Halo.
Raheem (Toronto Ontario)
hey man how do you like your team so far and u think u can give me a 1v1 practice some time
Chig (4:14 PM)
The first time we practiced was at the 4 team LAN. Friday, it didn't go so well, but Saturday and Sunday, that LAN started really clicking.
Warhawk3025 (Lawrence, KS)
Chig, first of all, congratulations on your Columbus placing! Do you feel that you've been overlooked as top-tier talent up until your recent success on Classic?
Chig (4:15 PM)
Yeah, I kind of feel I've been overlooked. I haven't played up to par at Dallas. At Orlando and Toronto I played well at those tournaments and people just didn't recognize it. But they didn't recognize it because we didn't place top 8.
Chig (4:16 PM)
Shout out to my teammates, Status Quo and In the Clutch. Expect our montage out next weekend.
