ESPN Radio (1:27 PM)
Hey folks, Ryen Russillo will be ready to chat in just a few minutes. Get your questions in.
Mike (Chitown)
who do you think gets signed 1st: Vick or Burress?
Ryen Russillo (1:37 PM)
Michael Vick.
Joe (NYC)
have you seen The Hangover? What did you think of it?
Ryen Russillo (1:37 PM)
I've lived it, I don't need to see it.
Chris (Phoenix)
The West Coast is awesome, the US Open should be out here every year as it is never bad weather. Even here in Phoenix!!
Ryen Russillo (1:38 PM)
I kind of agree, but the part of the U.S. Open that I like is that it's on different courses all the time. We have to stay up until 1a for baseball games, so can't we have tournaments from time-to-time?
Clay (Charlotte)
Need some advice. It's my big brother's birthday. I want to get him something cool. Well he went to UF, so I found a poster autographed by Emmitt Smith, Steve Spurrier, and Urban Meyer...pretty cool. But I found a guitar signed by Billy Donovan and Urban Meyer...pretty cool too. The price difference isn't that much. Which would you want?
Ryen Russillo (1:39 PM)
I think a guitar is more unique. You get to a certain age where you can't really hang up posters anymore.
Bob (Indiana,Pa)
Whose Championship win was more impressive, Lakers or Penguins?
Ryen Russillo (1:40 PM)
Penguins, not even close. They were the first team to win on the road in a Game 7 in the finals since the Pirates in the '70s.
Carl Spackler (Bushwood Country Club)
I think we should keep going. I don't think the heavy stuff is gonna come down for quite some time.
Ryen Russillo (1:41 PM)
I'm still waiting for Spackler's spin-off. Do you still have a lot of stuff on back order because of credit trouble?
Bandit (Shreveport, LA)
I want to ask you about the proposed extended NFL schedule. As an NFL junkie, I'm a little torn. I would love to have more football to watch, but I also would like to see less injuries in the game. I see a 17 game schedule as something that will lend to more injuries. Everybody wants their team to have their best players available at the end of the season don't they?
Ryen Russillo (1:43 PM)
I don't know that it would be so much that the product would change, but one of the attractions of football to me is that we always want more, so they should probably be careful with their approach. However, two more games might not be that big of a deal. And if it eliminates preseason games it should be good for the fans, and it'll be more money so it probably ends up happening.
E (Boston)
What should the Sox do with their rotation?
Ryen Russillo (1:46 PM)
Sell Dice-K back to Seibu. Trade Penny for a power-hitting prospect. Or not worry about it and be psyched that they have seven starting pitching options.
Steve (Syracuse)
Ryen- where do you see Flynn going in the draft, and do you think he will succeed at the next level?
Ryen Russillo (1:48 PM)
The highest he could go is four. Sacramento loved him in his workout. Lowest is 10 to Milwaukee. A couple spots in-between all would be fits. I think he's tough as can be, finishes at the rim and is going to be in the league for a long time.
Alex (VA)
Tiger or the field?
Ryen Russillo (1:49 PM)
Ogilvy.
Jack (Washington DC)
Who is your NBA favorite heading into next season?
Ryen Russillo (1:49 PM)
Celtics, if healthy and they still have Rondo.
Ryen Russillo (1:49 PM)
But still way too early with no draft or free agency.
Steve (Va.Beach)
Roy Williams best active college coach? True or False?
Ryen Russillo (1:50 PM)
False. Give me Izzo.
Jeremy (NJ)
Will Holliday be dealt before the deadline? What do you think the Mets would have to give up to get him?
Ryen Russillo (1:51 PM)
Yes, I believe he will be because Oakland won't want to give him arbitration. The Mets will have to give up a Fernando Martinez type.
George (Mason, GA)
I'm trying to start a campaign to for an All-Bad Boys NFL team. I vote for the Raiders. Al Davis would love it. And everyone would watch Farve, Vick, Stallworth and Burress on one team, wouldn't you?
Ryen Russillo (1:51 PM)
Yes, I would.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Better to be in rainy CT today or at rainy Bethpage?
Ryen Russillo (1:52 PM)
There's no beer here. I'd find a way to make it work out there. I'd work the "I fill in for Tirico
Steve (Syracuse)
George left off Brandon Marshall from that list...
Steve (Va.Beach)
whats up with all the Flynn love? Lawson led his team to the title and couldn't be guarded. Lawson>Flynn
Ryen Russillo (1:54 PM)
Maybe they should take Danny Green in the lottery, too.
Marc (Charlotte)
Ya, Izzo's record against Roy is great....
Ryen Russillo (1:54 PM)
I guess that solves it then. I was wrong.
Harold (Los Angeles)
Would the NY sports media even cover the Jets games if Plaxico joined the team? It would be like Shaq and Kobe..cept it could be Sanchez and Plaxico.
Ryen Russillo (1:56 PM)
The New York media would go nuts to a degree, but that's such a Mets' way of thinking. "Let's get the back page."
Steve (Va.Beach)
Danny Green is better than Flynn too.
Ryen Russillo (1:56 PM)
How many copies of the Tar Heels' Sports Illustrated championship package did you order?
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Marco Scutaro just turned a walk into a double by not stopping at first base. You don't see that often.
Ryen Russillo (1:57 PM)
That is awesome.
Justin (Ohio)
Ryen, never heard of you before. Are you a career radio guy or former athlete?
Ryen Russillo (1:57 PM)
Both.
Marc (Charlotte)
Did you go to dook?
Ryen Russillo (1:58 PM)
Yes.
Steve (Va.Beach)
none...YET. but I am a Heel grad. Just think Lawson will be very good in the league.
Ryen Russillo (1:59 PM)
I don't love Lawson, but I can understand guys being frustrated because he played so well, A:TO is sick and he shot the ball very well. But a lot of scouts worry about his size, lateral quickness and the fact that he'll have to run more half-court sets than just Roy Williams' style. And I think they're legitimate concerns.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Don't you have a radio show to do?
Ryen Russillo (2:00 PM)
No, I like to do both.
Steve (Va.Beach)
Ok Ryen, thoughts on Hansbrough and his production in the league?
Ryen Russillo (2:01 PM)
Measured bigger than people thought. He'd be a good role-player in the league, but he'll never make an All-Star team. Time to get to work. Thanks, everyone.
ESPN Radio (2:01 PM)
Listen to the show on ESPNRadio.com. Thanks for chatting, all. Have a good Thursday. Stay dry!
