Tim Graham (3:03 PM)
Good afternoon from the home office in Coral Springs, Fla. ESPN is using new chat software, and this is my maiden voyage with it. I'll try not to botch it up.
Bill (Fairfax)
Tim, which training camp site do you like the most?
Tim Graham (3:05 PM)
I would go with the Patriots and Dolphins because they're most convenient. They hold theirs at the regular facility and don't require extra travel. I'm not looking forward to the Jets in Cortland, N.Y.
JR (Tampa Bay)
Hey Tim, I've been hearing a little bit about Anthony Armstrong lately. Does he have any real chance to make the Phins' team?
Tim Graham (3:06 PM)
He has a shot. He has terrific speed, and Tony Sparano noted Armstrong always seems to catch the coaching staff's attention in practice. But I have seen him drop a lot of passes.
Drew (Baton Rouge)
Can The USFL draft NFL bloggers too? You think you would be a top pick like Jake Long or a sixth round hidden gem like Tom Brady?
Tim Graham (3:06 PM)
I'd be the Maurice Clarett.
Matt (Santa Clara)
Does Gisele being pregnant distract Brady and give the rest of the AFC east a chance?
Tim Graham (3:07 PM)
If that's what you're hanging your hopes on, then you're already in trouble.
Dave (NC)
Hey Tim, I've heard nothing very positive about Pat White. Is he struggling that bad or is it the haters?
Tim Graham (3:08 PM)
I've seen White several times and have not been impressed. His passes have been all over the place.
Christoph (Orlando)
Sean Smith is a boss, but will everyone else view Vontae as a bust since Will Allen and Smith will be the probable starting cb's? I think his tackling would be excellent as a nickel in run support. Whatcha think?
Tim Graham (3:09 PM)
I'm not sure where you're getting your info that Smith will be the starter. It's only June. All players, but especially cornerbacks, prove themselves at training camp and in preseason games. That's where they earn a coach's trust. On the last day of minicamp, Davis was getting first-team reps. So let's wait a while to see how that battle shakes out.
Matt (Santa Clara)
How many sacks does Langston Walker give up this year? I'll put the over/under at 5.
Tim Graham (3:10 PM)
I'll take the over and spot you an extra couple sacks so I don't feel so guilty about taking your money.
Joe (NJ)
Tim, do you see Sanchez the opening day starter for the Jets. If so, will the Jets sign Clemmens next year as the backup?
Tim Graham (3:11 PM)
If the battle is remotely close in camp, then Sanchez will be the starter. Clemens is going to have to shine, or Sanchez will need to fall apart for that not to happen.
Mike (Rochester)
Langston has allowed 3 sacks in the last 32 games
Tim Graham (3:12 PM)
At right tackle. He's the left tackle now. He'll be facing guys like Joey Porter. In fact, the Bills face six of the NFL's top 11 sackmasters from last year. Buckle up.
mendel (fl)
tim, over or under 12 sacks for cameron wake?
Tim Graham (3:13 PM)
Way under. He'll start off as a situational player and will need to jockey with Jason Taylor and Matt Roth for playing time.
Chris (St.pete)
Any info on how Camarillo is doing off is injury? And do you think he can be just as good as last year?
Tim Graham (3:14 PM)
Greg Camarillo's knee is coming along. He looks OK and says he's doing well.
D. William Parcells (Miami)
I think there is a 87.2 percent chance that Langston Walker gives up more than 5 sacks.
Diane (Doylestown)
With all of the good press on Ronnie Brown, do you think they can keep Ricky busy enough that he stays focused and "out of trouble"?
Tim Graham (3:15 PM)
Ricky is fine. He's enjoying his low profile and seems to be handling life quite well these days.
Jamie (Ontario)
cameron wake will be an absolute beast. im from canada i watch the cfl regularily and im telling you rite now im more scared of him then joey porter. if he cant get a starters role. somethings wrong with their coaches
Tim Graham (3:16 PM)
And Dave Dickenson will edge out Peyton Manning for MVP.
sean (albany)
Who do you think has the bigger year...TO or Lee?
Tim Graham (3:17 PM)
I think Evans will have more yards and Owens will have more touchdowns.
Chris (Rockville,MD)
Hey Tim - What kind of quarterback do you expect Henne to be? One that can win games on his own or a game manager type?
Tim Graham (3:19 PM)
Game manager is a roundabout way of saying he wins with his head and not his skills. The Dolphins see him as complete quarterback with an arm and intelligence. Having Chad Pennington as Henne's mentor for a couple years could prove more valuable for the Dolphins in the long run than having Pennington at quarterback.
Scott (Colorado Springs, CO)
TIM!!! Are you as pumped as I am about the new Transformers movie? Megan Fox is HOT
Tim Graham (3:19 PM)
I am not as pumped up as you are.
Marco Polo (Providence, RI)
Timothy, Did you see in Ginn what Sparano sees in Ginn lately? That is confidence, crisper route running, DOMINANCE??
Tim Graham (3:20 PM)
Dominance? In all caps, no less? I haven't heard Sparano say anything in the neighborhood of that.
Chris (St.pete)
I've heard nothing but great news about Patrick Turner supposively human vacuum cleaner. But does he have the speed to be a starter?
Tim Graham (3:21 PM)
Turner does have sensational hands. I couldn't stop watching him at rookie camp. Speed and separation will be an issue, but he should be on the field on obvious passing downs and in the red zone.
bill (fairfax)
Your thoughts on J.P. in the UFL.
Tim Graham (3:22 PM)
I think it's a good move for him. He needs to go somewhere and play. Signing for backup work and getting limited reps won't do him any good. If he wants to rehabilitate his careers, this might work.
Bobby (Philadelphia)
Tim, if Langston Walker is so terrible why didn't the Dolphins just line up Joey Porter on the right side last season? Especially on passing downs.
Tim Graham (3:23 PM)
Because Joey Porter plays on the right side.
Matt (Santa Clara)
You were kinda rough on TO with the housing problem and sided with the realtor. Doesn't TO have the right to be upset when his realtor says the size of the house, the neighborhood, and the builder as well as talking to the AP in the first place. With that info is wouldn't be too hard to figure out where it is?
Tim Graham (3:25 PM)
How was I rough on T.O.? He was the one who tweeted his displeasure with the realtor. Was I too hard on Channing Crowder and Rex Ryan for making a scene?
Brandon (Albany)
Can you please explain your hatred for Langston Walker? I don't know where you were for the first couple of weeks of last years season when Walker played LT when the so called great LT Peters didnt feel like playing.....but he played pretty well and the offensive line played their best games those first couple of games when Peters wasn't in the lineup.
Tim Graham (3:25 PM)
Please show an example where I have expressed hatred for Langston Walker.
Tim Graham (3:27 PM)
And Langston Walker started a grand total of one game at left tackle last year.
Scott (Colorado Springs, CO)
What Brandon meant to say is how come you dont show him any love.
Tim Graham (3:27 PM)
Why does an average NFL tackle deserve my love?
David (Quebec)
Hi Tim, great blog!!Do you think the Pats will be able to sign their 3 key players soon? Meaning wilfork, Seymour and Mankins? If they don't what do you think could happen?
Tim Graham (3:29 PM)
I can't fathom the Patriots moving forward without all three of those players. They're all integral components and are young enough that they should get locked up. I'd be surprised if any of them got away.
Chris (St.pete)
Now that we've got Taylor back along with the addition of Wake I see the Phins having one of the best pass rush in the league.
Tim Graham (3:29 PM)
They sure do have a lot of talent lined up there.
Mike (Rochester)
@Brandon...."hatred"? c'mon man. As a Bills fan, I'm not too worried about the OLine this year, but I can't blame people for expecting it to be bad. I certainly don't think Tim has showed hatred for the guy.
Tim Graham (3:31 PM)
I actually find Walker to be one of my favorite people to interview. He's incredibly smart and has a great sense of humor. But most scouts I talk to say he doesn't have the footwork to handle the best pass rushers in the NFL.
Brandon (Albany)
That one game the offensive line with Walker starting at LT they gave up one sack against a defense that includes patrick kearny and then when Peters comes back to start the offensive line gave up 3 or more sacks in the next 4 games. So please explain where you see a drop off from Peters to Walker.
Tim Graham (3:35 PM)
You're right. Peters did give up more sacks. That's what happens when a guy misses every OTA, minicamp, training camp and all four preseason games. That doesn't mean Walker is just as good. If he is, then he should be holding out for Jason Peters money right now.
Samuel Jackson (Hartford, CT)
What do you think of Rex Ryan so far? I think he's in over his head. He can't even conduct himself like an NFL coach right out of the gate. Jets will be 5 - 11 at best. He won't last more than 2 yrs.
Tim Graham (3:36 PM)
He sure is a lot of fun. We can see why his guys love to play for him. He puts it out there, and they relish proving him right. That act might seem like he's in over his head to outsiders, but it plays well in the locker room.
Robby (Tampa, FL)
I was trying to post a comment about Maurice Clarett and my computer froze. Coincidence? Me thinks not.
Kevin (Austin)
Are the Jets in any way interested in Braylon Edwards anymore? If Plax signs with the Bucs, or is suspended for a significant amount of time by Goodell, could the Ewards-to-NYJ talk heat up?
Tim Graham (3:38 PM)
Keep an eye on the Brandon Marshall situation. Reports keep mentioning the Browns as a possible landing pad. If so, then Braylon Edwards becomes expendable.
Mike (New Rochelle,NY)
@ Samuel- the Jets wont win 5 games? have you seen there Defense Rhodes, Shepp., Scott, Revis, Pace, Jenkins not to mention the potential of Gholston this D alone will win the team 8 easy
Sean (TR NJ)
Attempt #6 With the talent at wideout in the division do you think the Dolphins lack what it takes to defend against them or will they be fine with a good pass rush and the additions in secondary they have now
Tim Graham (3:40 PM)
I don't see a major hole at cornerback. They still have Will Allen on the left, and it wasn't like right corner Andre Goodman was a worldbeater last year. Eric Green isn't the answer, but I don't think it's time to panic. And remember, the Jets don't have much to worry about at receiver ... right now.
Ed Hochuli (Chat Ref)
We have illegal procedure against every chatter that continues to bring up Langston Walker. There are better things to talk about than left tackles. 5 yards and it remains 2nd down
jason (Mississippi)
Will Pat White be listed as a WR with the 3rd qb rule
Tim Graham (3:42 PM)
The last time I spoke with Tony Sparano about it, he said White would be the second quarterback and Henne the third for gameday purposes.
Ben ((Mass))
The Patsies made a great mistake letting Matt Cassell go. Tom Brady's noodle knee won't make it through the season. Knee ACL injuries are historically devastating to QB's careers.
Tim Graham (3:44 PM)
Everybody I've spoken to says Brady's knee looks great. I sat with ESPN's injury expert, Stephania Bell, at minicamp. She's a physical therapist who specializes in pro athletes. She was amazed at how Brady was able to put torque on his injured knee. You wouldn't know he had surgery if you saw him run and throw.
ozzie (west palm beach,fl)
Hey tim do you see any free agents comin into miami to mentor the young WR core we got?Someone like say..Marvin Harrison??
Tim Graham (3:46 PM)
I think the Dolphins are happy with their receivers and go into the season with what they have.
Sam ((hartford, CT))
who will be the better receiver for the BILLS, Steve Johnson or James Hardy and if those 2 started who would be your #1 wr and who would be your 2?
Tim Graham (3:47 PM)
Going on what I'm hearing from the folks at One Bills Drive, Johnson is ahead of Hardy based both on skill and the fact Hardy is coming off that knee injury. But they are different types of receivers.
Chris (St.pete)
I remember when Carson palmer came off the knee injury. Brady may still be good but he wont be the same on gameday.
Tim Graham (3:49 PM)
There certainly is a mental aspect to it. We'll see how Brady handles a live pass rush or throwing on the run. Those will me telling moments in the preseason, especially since a big reason for Brady's success has been his able to hang in the pocket that extra second and let the play develop. We'll see how that left knee affects his pocket presence.
Scott (SD)
Hi Tim, who do you think will start at RG for the Dolphins?
Tim Graham (3:50 PM)
If he can stay healthy, Donald Thomas.
Kyle (Boston, MA))
Funny thing about the people who doubt Brady's knee - they are putting their fortunes on his knee and hoping he is hurt...because if he isn't they know it's O-V-E-R!!!
Zack (NYC)
I tell ya what.. this new chat thing is AWESOME. No more refereshing the pages.. also.. i love the new pic tim.. gained some weight there i see.. ehhhh???
Tim Graham (3:51 PM)
I went from cruiserweight to heavyweight. Glad you like the chats. It's a little tougher for me because the questions are refreshing in real time. Tough to read them when they're automatically scrolling.
Chris (NY)
Could you please explain how Staalworth got a slap on the wrist compared to Vick. I hope the commish wont be as kind.
Tim Graham (3:55 PM)
Totally different courts. Vick was federal. Stallworth was Florida. Plus, Stallworth and the family of the victim reached a settlement. The family essentially signed off on the sentence. Also, the guy who got hit was partially at fault for bolting out in front of Stallworth to catch a bus. I agree that 30 days is a light sentence, but you can't compare it with Vick.
woody (boston)
can we please not compare carson palmer's mental toughness to tom brady?
Ben (SLC)
How much of the no huddle are we going to see from the Bills this year?
Tim Graham (3:57 PM)
I foresee them opening games with the no huddle and sticking with it as long as it works.
Robby (Tampa, FL)
Why do we say "an" hour, instead of "a" hour? I thought that you used "an" when preceding words that start with a vowel, and "a" when proceeding a word that starts with a consonant. These thoughts keep me awake at night.
Jesse Harris (Boise, ID)
Are the Bills fans the most tortured in the division?
Tim Graham (3:59 PM)
For sure. The other teams have other things to think about when their teams don't win.
Paul (oceanside, ca)
@woody, Dan Marino was every bit as mentally tough as Brady but still was never the same after his surgery. Be concerned, be very concerned.
Laurence Maroney ((Boston))
Am I the best running back in the AFC East?
Tim Graham (4:00 PM)
No. It's Marshawn Lynch.
sean (albany)
Who do you think gets fired quicker...TO'S next realtor or Jauron?
Tim Graham (4:00 PM)
The realtor, but in a twist of irony, Jauron is selling houses within two years.
nayan (ct)
lynch over Ronnie? wow
Tim Graham (4:01 PM)
Tough call, but that's how I have it.
sean (albany)
woooahh Tim bagging on the bills because they have passionate fans??
Tim Graham (4:03 PM)
Bagging? Because I said they were tortured?
Andrew (Buff.)
Tim, Sully said you might be moving back up to WNY. If so, how many days in town before you hit the Swanee House?
Tim Graham (4:05 PM)
Oh, I've been at the Swannie House several times since I moved away. I try to go every time I'm in town for the Bills. But I will be moving back to Western New York next month.
KL (Boston)
You could argue Freddy Jackson is better than Marshawn
Tim Graham (4:05 PM)
Not with a straight face, I couldn't.
RonnieB (Miami)
Bills fans woke up on the wrong side of the bed today... or is it just waking up in Buffalo EVERYDAY that pisses them off?
Sean (TR NJ)
Attempt #10 (now surely you must have respect for asking the same question this many times so why not post already?)I feel the pass rush will have a lot to do with our success this year with the Dolphins but I also believe we need to be more physical on o line. I hear Grove is exactly that type of guy whats your take?
Tim Graham (4:07 PM)
Just a point of order for those unaware ... I can't possibly see every question when it comes in. They come in too fast. So the number of attempts don't make me answer out of sympathy. In fact, when I notice you asking a question over and over and over by cutting and pasting and stacking them up, I have a tendency to ignore it.
Tim Graham (4:08 PM)
But I will say the Dolphins think Grove is a big upgrade over Satele. I spoke to Jake Long about it last week, and he think they're much better equipped to establish the run. That's not just because of Grove, but also the new offensive line coach.
andy (buffalo)
its not easy to wake up here when you make more moves in an off season than you have in years and the experts still expect you to miss the playoffs...tim whats your projection for the bills record?
Tim Graham (4:09 PM)
7-9 a fourth straight season, maybe even 6-10.
andy (buffalo)
i'm going back to bed
Tim Graham (4:10 PM)
Sorry, Andy.
Scott (Colorado Springs, CO)
Atari, Nintendo or Sega Genesis?
Tim Graham (4:11 PM)
In order, I had Intellivision, Nintendo, Sega Genesis, PlayStation.
Jesse Harris (Boise, ID)
Do you the Bills are a better or worse team from last year disregarding expected record?
Tim Graham (4:12 PM)
I think they'll be better. But the schedule is significantly tougher this year.
Zac (San Diego)
Rock, Paper or Scissors?
Tim Graham (4:12 PM)
Good ol' rock. Nothing beats that!
Chris (St.pete)
Outrageously tougher. i think the league was like we have to give Miami the hardest schedule. We cant allow them to make it to the Superbowl.
Tim Graham (4:14 PM)
Either that, or the schedule cycles were laid out years ago. But you're probably right, Chris. Gotta be a conspiracy.
Brad (NM)
I hate when ppl ask "experts" such as yourself to predict a team's W-L record, especially when it's June. You have no clue..it's purely a guess and it spoils some excitement Bills fans such as myself hold for the upcoming year.
Tim Graham (4:15 PM)
People think what I say matters.
Diego Cuenca (Tampa)
To be quite honest, I don't think any of the RB's in the AFC east are that great. I'm a jets fan and I don't even think Jones is good, he had success because of the O line. So he needs to shut his mouth and stop whining. Lets see how much TDs he scores this year now that Favre isn't there to take the pressure away from the run game. I rank them like this Jones/Brown, Lynch, Maroney.
Tim Graham (4:18 PM)
I do believe that Lynch can be great. He just turned 23. But the off-field trouble has to keep the Bills front office awake at night.
Anthony (NYC)
Tim what do you think the Pats will do offense be more run oriented or continue the passing attack, Belicheck tends to throw a wrinkle every 2 seasons.
Tim Graham (4:20 PM)
The Patriots' run game should be much better, especially if Maroney can stay healthy. But it will be difficult to keep Brady from throwing to Moss, Welker, Galloway and Lewis.
Diego Cuenca (Tampa)
Well he can't be great if he doesn't play because he's in jail.
Tim Graham (4:20 PM)
When we get to that point, I'll move Ronnie Brown ahead of him on my list.
Scott (NM)
Intellivsion!! Do you remember that Burger game? What was that called?
Tim Graham (4:21 PM)
BurgerTime ... I was addicted to it.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rnRRph4bcE
Ryan (Howell, New Jersey)
Will Gholston get any sacks this year? Do you think he'll take over the starting OLB position this season or next?
Tim Graham (4:22 PM)
Word out of Jets camp is that he'll be used as a nickel defensive end, getting him with his hand on the ground like he was used to at Ohio State. I think that's where the transition begins.
Chris (St.pete)
Ronnie will prove himself this year.
Tim Graham (4:23 PM)
Brown has proven himself already. Nobody is saying he's a bum. But if I'm putting a team together from a pool of AFC East players, I'm taking Lynch.
Tim Graham (4:23 PM)
Based purely on football, that is.
Scott (NM)
What team did the Phins new O line coach on last year?
Tim Graham (4:24 PM)
Giants.
Sadihy (Venezuela)
Hi there Tim! Have you seen JTaylor taking snaps on his "new" position? Does he look any good or even comfortable there?
Tim Graham (4:24 PM)
I wrote about that last week. http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-8-194/After-years-of-being-right--Taylor-sees-what-s-left.html
Diego Cuenca (Tampa)
How would you rank the rbs in the afc east?
Tim Graham (4:26 PM)
Lynch, Brown, Jones, Washington, Maroney (if healthy)
Zack (NYC)
How would you rank the QB's in the AFC East?
Tim Graham (4:26 PM)
Brady, Pennington, Edwards, Sanchez, Clemens
Nate (Colorado Springs)
Brian Moorman is the best punter in the AFCE - hands down!!!
Tim Graham (4:27 PM)
You know it!
Tim Graham (4:27 PM)
Best holder on field goals, too!
Ed Hochuli (Chat Ref)
That's illegal use of the hands against Nate for posting a comment about a punter. 10 yards and it is 3rd down
Fred Taylor (Boston)
I'm in the twilight of my career but none of those cats can even carry my jock strap!
Tim Graham (4:29 PM)
Fred Taylor probably will finish with more career yards than Jim Brown. That doesn't seem right.
Joe (Indiana)
Does Miami keep Pennington after this season, or stock up on picks in next years draft?
Tim Graham (4:31 PM)
Pennington is entering the final year of his contract. Unless he carries them to the payoffs, I think this will be his last year with Miami. Of course, he could agree to return as the backup, but Henne looks like the 2010 starter.
Dan (Lancaster NY)
HEY TIM, WHERE'S THE FRED JACKSON LOVE? HE'S NOT ON YOU TOP RB LIST AT ALL.... 1000 AP YARDS THIS YEAR 400 AT LEAST IN THE FIRST THREE WEEKS WITH LYNCH GONE
Tim Graham (4:34 PM)
The first four guys have made a Pro Bowl and the other one started in the Super Bowl. Just because I don't list him doesn't mean he stinks. Between this and everybody claiming I hate Langston Walker, I'm starting to wonder about Bills fans' ability to reason.
Madden 09 CHAMP (FL)
Does Ronnie Brown rush for 1500 this year?
Tim Graham (4:36 PM)
I doubt it. He has had durability issues, and the Dolphins have to find carries for Ricky Williams. Guys who run for 1,500 are workhorses. Brown doesn't fit that description.
Matt (YO)
Damn Tim, now you hate us?
Tim Graham (4:36 PM)
You're further proving my point.
Jon (Rochester, NY)
Bills fans' ability to reason? We haven't been to the playoffs in 9 years and the Bills are selling even MORE season tickets. You're just starting to wonder?
Ryan (Howell, New Jersey)
Does Thomas Jones go Over/Under 8 Touchdowns and 1100 rushing yards?
Tim Graham (4:38 PM)
That's too hard to predict now. The contract could play a role, and we don't know how the Jets plan to use Shonn Greene yet. Given Jones' age, Greene's arrival and maybe Washington getting more touches ... I will say under.
Mike ((a Bills fan))
Can you Bills fans please stop whining? You're making the rest of us sane Bills fans look dumb.
Robby (Tampa, FL)
Tim, if I whine about you picking on Miami based on nothing but my craziness will you finally admit you hate Miami. I mean, come on, lets be real now, all this "hate" for Buffalo was CLEARLY a back-handed shot at Miami. I know it, you know it. Pick a side man, we're at war.
Mike (South River NJ)
How have the Dolphins fans in general embraced the new ownership and the change of name for the stadium to Landshark (to me its always Joe Robbie)
Tim Graham (4:40 PM)
They're pretty apathetic. Huizenga was a beloved owner, but Ross hasn't overseen any significant on-field success/failure yet. As for the name to the stadium, I think most of the fans who do care about such things were embarrassed they couldn't find a sponsor for years.
Shawn (Ohio)
I know it is only the first game of the season, but if Buffalo were to beat the pats, would you predict Playoffs!
Tim Graham (4:41 PM)
Remember when the Bills beat the Patriots on opening day in Orchard Park? Sports Illustrated put them on the cover with the headline "SUPER!"
Madden 09 CHAMP (FL)
Does Pat White rush for 500 and pass for 500 in his rookie season?
Tim Graham (4:41 PM)
No and no.
Cory (Buffalo)
Who lines up opposite of Lee Evans at WR next year?
Tim Graham (4:42 PM)
This guy named Terrell Owens. I hear he can play a little. You should Google him.
Ryan (Howell, New Jersey)
Two questions answered? I've came along way from being the first ever to be ejected from the chat
Tim Graham (4:42 PM)
We're all about second chances here, Ryan.
Jesse (Boise, ID)
25-Over/Under on number of Buffalo residences arrested for rioting if the Bills beat the Pats
Tim Graham (4:43 PM)
You accidentally typed the word "arrested." I think you meant to type "burned to the ground."
Gian (Miami)
Tim, most interesting player during these OTAs down in Miami?
Tim Graham (4:45 PM)
Because there were no pads, the player we were able to learn most about was Pat White. But the player I'm most interested in learning about his Cameron Wake. We'll have to wait for training camp.
Chris (Melbourne, FL)
When Joey Porter said that the road to the afc east goes through Miami even though the favorite is New England, does it look like Miami can still be a challenge even if they have the toughest schedule in nfl?
Tim Graham (4:46 PM)
For sure. The Patriots schedule is only a smidgeon easier. They have only two unique opponents.
Sadihy (Venezuela)
Seriously Tim, after all the misundertandings and nonsense coming from the Bills' fans you still want to move back there? You probably got a bad case of heatstroke cause by south FL's weather!!
Tim Graham (4:47 PM)
I do hate the weather down here. I turned on Conan O'Brien the other night and the local NBC affiliate does the time and temperature ... It was 95 degrees at 11:30. Last night, I walked 30 feet to my car and broke a sweat.
Jacob (Washington DC)
I think Cory was referencing the 2010 season, for who would start opposite Evans, seeing as TO only has a one year contract...
Tim Graham (4:49 PM)
Ah ... Well, if that's the case, I'll have to say Steve Johnson. I guess. Maybe James Hardy. I don't see a clear-cut No. 2 on the roster.
Urban Meyer (Gainesville)
You're either for the Florida weather or against it. If you're for it, you can buy a ticket in 37F
Joey (Brooklyn (fins fan))
im sick of all the jets fans raving about how mark sanchez is the savior and hes guna be matt ryan. hes played 12 games in his whole college career do u think he has even a minor chance to be as good as ryan was last year?
Tim Graham (4:51 PM)
This is the first mention of Mark Sanchez on this chat, and we started 1 hour, 50 minutes ago. But to answer your question, I don't think Sanchez will have a rookie year like Ryan's. The Jets won't ask Ryan to do the same things. They'll want him to handle the job as Flacco did last year: Just play it safe and don't cost us.
Dick (arizona)
I was going to join this chat but I think Tim hates me
Sam (CT)
Which is more likely: Welker gets 100 catches, or Bills get 9 wins?
Tim Graham (4:52 PM)
That's an easy one because I think one will happen and the other won't. Welker.
Gian (Miami)
Any undrafted free agents you see with a shot at making the team? Dolphins..
Tim Graham (4:53 PM)
It's hard to evaluate at minicamp, especially interior linemen. But I asked Sparano a few weeks ago how many undrafted players need to make the team, and he said about two.
Scott (NM)
Enjoyed the chat Tim! Keep up the good work! When does training camp open?
Tim Graham (4:54 PM)
Thanks, Scott. Bills are the first to open in the AFC East on July 25.
Ed Hochuli (Chat Ref)
Tim, your comment about Sanchez is under review (It doesn't look good)
John (Nashville)
Best return man in the AFC East is Roscoe Parrish, right? Don't you say Leon Washington.....
Tim Graham (4:56 PM)
Roscoe Parrish might not be the best return man on his team. It might be Leodis McKelvin.
Tim Graham (4:57 PM)
And I would take Leon Washington over Parrish if given the option.
Louie (WI)
With the upgraded secondary and re-adition of JT is Miami's defense the best in the East?
Tim Graham (4:57 PM)
I'd like to see the Jets for a couple games first.
Ed Hochuli (Chat Ref)
After reviewing the play, the replay shows that Mark Sanchez was indeed mentioned earlier in the chat. The chatters will not be charged with a time out
Tim Graham (4:58 PM)
Got me. I still can't remember it, but I trust Ed's review.
James (WPB)
Does Matt Roth beat out JT for the starting spot on the left side?
Tim Graham (4:59 PM)
I see Roth playing on running downs.
Shawn (Ohio)
Is Rex Ryan the most over-rated first time head coach?
Tim Graham (5:00 PM)
Ever hear of Gerry Faust?
Tim Graham (5:01 PM)
Or, for an NFL answer, ever hear of Steve Spurrier?
Matt (Boston)
Which coach wins an AFC East cage match?
Tim Graham (5:03 PM)
Great question. It would be like the original UFC, four different fighting styles ... although I see Sparano and Belichick coming from the dojo. Jauron might be in the best shape, but he's the only non-lineman. Tough call.
Gian (Miami)
Tim, pre-training camp AFC East rankings?
Tim Graham (5:03 PM)
Patriots, Dolphins, Jets, Bills.
Louie (WI)
How do you see the playoffs seeding out in the AFC? Division champs and Wildcard teams
Tim Graham (5:03 PM)
I predict two teams coming out of the AFC North and AFC South. That means only one AFC East team making the playoffs.
Tim Graham (5:05 PM)
I want to thank everybody for stopping by. We went over the two-hour mark and generated 920 (and counting) comments and questions.
Tim Graham (5:05 PM)
I'll answer a few more, and then I have to return to the real world.
Shawn (Ohio)
Are we chatting next week
Tim Graham (5:05 PM)
I think so. I'm not traveling, at least.
Matt (Boston)
Will the Wildcat offense be featured in Madden 2010? Will Madden be featured in Madden 2010? I mean he retired... that could be the biggest improvement to the series yet!
Tim Graham (5:06 PM)
The Wildcat will be in Madden 10
Chris (Syracuse)
Why with their unproven QB, rookie coach and average-at-best WR's are the Jets consistently ranked ahead of the Bills?
Tim Graham (5:07 PM)
because they have one of the best O-lines in the NFL, two Pro Bowl running backs and are expected to have a great defense based on their acquisitions.
Gian (Miami)
Best of lucks Tim. Go Dolphins. Favorite Football Movie?
Tim Graham (5:07 PM)
The Longest Yard
Tim Graham (5:08 PM)
The original.
Capt. Obvious (The Internetz)
@ Chris: Because he hates you of course.
Tim Graham (5:10 PM)
How does everybody like the new chat format?
Ryan (Howell, New Jersey)
Its easier not having to refresh the page and looks better as well
Paul Kuharsky (AFC South)
How do I get a question answered here? Sheesh.
Tim Graham (5:11 PM)
Shouldn't you be hiding in Vince Young's bushes?
Blaine (Latham)
I think at the beginning it was a lil rockier but all together its an improvemnt.lets not kid ourselves though, its your opinion that counts
D. William Parcells (Miami)
I am 63.7 percent in favor of the new format.
Tim Graham (5:12 PM)
It's six of one, half-dozen of another on my end. Just took some getting used to.
Shawn (Ohio)
does it make it easier to answer questions?
Tim Graham (5:13 PM)
A little tougher because of the constant scrolling of questions as they come in. Before, it would lock after I answered a question. It was like a snapshot of the 15 most recent submissions.
Matt (Boston)
I wish there was a time stamp on the posts. And maybe pictures of AFC East Cheerleaders
Clinton (Philadelphia)
It's nice. But not as nice as Leon Washington
I have a complaint! (AFCE chat)
there was too much football talk this week. that is all.
Tim Graham (5:14 PM)
I agree. Strange that at a time when all four teams are in their dead period, all the questions were about football. And when there's actual stuff going on, everybody wants to talk about videogames and TV shows.
Matt (Boston)
Who is your favorite person to follow on Twitter?
Tim Graham (5:15 PM)
No favorite, but I have to follow T.O. He might say something newsworthy.
Drew (Buffalo)
Tim, have a good weekend. Sorry for the sub par chat performance today. I'm off my game...
Tim Graham (5:15 PM)
There's always next week, Drew.
Tim Graham (5:16 PM)
Thanks for stopping by, everybody! Have a nice weekend, and to all you dads out there, Happy Father's Day.
