Scott will be here is a minute...get your quesitons in now to make sure they are answered.
Scott Van Pelt (1:00 PM)
The people from Auto Tune the News are coming on the show today...it's a good day.
Robert (San Antonio, TX)
Hey Van Peezy, are you going to be watching David Beckham make his return to the MLS tonight? Let's get the soccer train rolling!
Scott Van Pelt (1:01 PM)
What do you think? Is he back from Milan? Thanks for the effort David.
Jake (Ocean City,NJ)
Scott, do you think Pedro will be able to bolster the back of the Phils rotation?
Scott Van Pelt (1:02 PM)
It's not great right now. I think he can help, but I would keep my expectations low if I were a Phillies fan. That way anything I got would be a bonus.
frank sparks (columbia, missouri)
why is alot of people saying the chiefs made a mistake by signing matt cassel to a long term contract?
Scott Van Pelt (1:03 PM)
Because 60 plus million is a lot to give a guy base on a relatively small sample of work. I'm a Cassel fan however...I think the Chiefs are going to be a surprise team this year.
RAy gordon reid ( YAZZOO CITY MS 39194)
questuion to scott van pelt HI SCOTt VAN PELT GIVE ME YES OR NO BRETT FARVE ATMINNESOTA VIKINGS TRAINING CAMP JULY 30 OR 31
Scott Van Pelt (1:03 PM)
Yes...I don't know anyone who does think othewise.
frank sparks (columbia,mo)
do you think albert pujols is one of the best pure hitters in baseball today?
Scott Van Pelt (1:07 PM)
Is this a trick question. I think he's the best player in baseball by a lot.
Sheila (Daly City, CA)
First of all as a Giants fan I would like to thank you for praising the giants as much as you have. Secondly, if you were the Giants would you go after a starting pitcher or a hitter?
Scott Van Pelt (1:08 PM)
They've already got as much pitching as they need. If I could go across the bay and get Holliday I would. I just don't know if they score enough runs to keep winning.
frank sparks (columbia, mo)
if roy holliday ends up going to the st louis cardinals do you think they are the favorite to win the world series
Scott Van Pelt (1:10 PM)
Favorites is a strong word. Boston's pitching depth is formidable. The Dodgers are just so tough across the board, but a 1-2 of Halladay and Carpenter would make them as tough as anyone.
Mr. Clean (cue-ball, TX)
Bald... adjective or life-style?
Scott Van Pelt (1:11 PM)
In my case...inevitability
Matt (Philadelphia)
How many victories will the College Park folk be celebrating at Bentley's this fall?
Scott Van Pelt (1:13 PM)
Which sport? The Terps have won a bunch of National Championships lately. Just not the big 2...but you can go to Bentley's to celebrate any occasion.
Jason (Maddenland, MA)
Madden NFL 10 comes out next month, are you gonna pick it up?
Scott Van Pelt (1:15 PM)
I'm strictly a EA NCAA 2010 player...I don't think I have enough jean shorts or jerseys or side ways hats to play Madden. At least not at an elite (by that i mean televised) level.
Kyle (Arkansas)
I saw a report at the All-Star game that President Obama thought Joe Maddon (Rays Manager) had the best glasses in sports. Do you think yours are more stylish? Do you have the best set of eyewear in sports?
Scott Van Pelt (1:15 PM)
I had mine before Maddon...I'll leave it at that.
nick (bethlehem PA )
do you think you could get me a job at espn
Scott Van Pelt (1:17 PM)
What are you good at?
Joe (DC)
Who would you rather have dinner with? John Madden or Joe Maddon?
Scott Van Pelt (1:18 PM)
I suppose the punchline answer is Joe this way I get to eat something.
nick (bethlehem PA )
talking sports, I know everything about every sport
Scott Van Pelt (1:20 PM)
well then you're not welcome here Nick...that means you will probably take someone's job, maybe mine. In all seriousness, start a blog or something. Put your knowledge on display
Brett (San Diego)
Do you think if we had house music in the 30's World War II would have never happened?
Scott Van Pelt (1:21 PM)
Thank you for that. You're like Jack Handy.
Cosmo (Anytown, USA)
SVP, I shot a 56 at Turnberry yesterday (on Tiger '10) - just thought you should know.
Scott Van Pelt (1:22 PM)
And now everyone knows. On what level and was I complimentary?
Drew (Buffalo)
That was an awesome question from Brett
John (Miami)
Bruno - yay or nay?
Scott Van Pelt (1:23 PM)
For me, Bruno is always the character I liked the least of the 3. So I will pass.
Jason (Ellicott City, MD)
Do you miss the golf channel?
Scott Van Pelt (1:24 PM)
I wish them well and will always be endebted to them. But I think I am where I'm supposed to be.
Jason (Ellicott City, MD)
Pedro of 1999 or Lincecum 2009?
Scott Van Pelt (1:27 PM)
We have a tendancy to make anything that is current better than something that is older. Pedro was 23-4 is 1999 and struck out 313 people. I love Lincecum, but the correct answer is Pedro.
Max (Great State of Texas)
How difficult would it be to get a signed Scott Van Pelt tearaway sports suit like from the commercial? I need one of those for work!
Scott Van Pelt (1:33 PM)
I tried to find the LeBron James chair after the fact, and it's gone. The tear a way suit is in the same place that chair is...gone...
nick (bethlehem PA )
what are you going to be talking about on your show today
Scott Van Pelt (1:34 PM)
Second have baseball questions, Tom Watson and the dudes from Auto Tune the News...which you should check out. Thanks for chatting, see you at the top of the hour
