In your experiences leading up to becoming a pro, how intense has your training regimen been? How many hours a day did you play and how long have you been in the Gears community?
Perfec7 Uno (4:02 PM)
It becomes very intense at first. I practice anywhere from 4 to 7 hours a day. It becomes intense the farther you go in the run. You have to keep the same energy and momentum. When you go to these events, you're already accustomed to it and it's not as hard.
Cody B. (stuckinGB) (Lakeland, FL)
Hey Perfec7,what is your favorite aspect of the MLG experience?
Perfec7 Uno (4:03 PM)
My favorite aspect would have to be playing on main stage. I say that because you're up there and the other team is on the opposite side of you. You have all your fans around you, but the lights are so bright that you can just focus on the screen. That's the best.
Jason P. (NJ)
So why Gears? why not the norm, the big game halo?
Perfec7 Uno (4:04 PM)
Honestly, I felt Gears 2 was more competitive than Halo 3 and it's more exciting to watch. I feel that Gears gets more respect than it gets. I'm not knocking Halo 3, it's a great game, but I feel that Gears is more exciting.
rman (california )
Who do you think is your greatest rival in dallas
Perfec7 Uno (4:05 PM)
I would have to say MbN. They have the first seed. They only lost three matches the whole tournament. They'll be one of the best teams in Dallas. I'm looking forward to playing them.
Darren (Lancaster PA)
Although i dont play GOW all my friends do and they are quite good (kung fu flip action!). What advice could u give them to bring there talent to the MLG Main stage?
Perfec7 Uno (4:06 PM)
Well, my advice would be start off by playing Game Battles. Try a team or make a team. Find a couple of players or friends and just play. Be competitive. After a while your game skill and the correct practice, you'll get the skill. Then when you feel you're ready to compete on MLG, go for it.
KingKong (Det,Mi)
Pdo7 how does a pro like you take all the pressure at events away. So you can preform at your highest level.
Perfec7 Uno (4:07 PM)
Well, for me, the biggest part in being able to focus is having the headphones on. You can't hear anything but your teammates. You're just hearing the game and your teammates. It becomes pretty easy to focus. But it can also be easy to get distracted, but I never let that happen.
Taylor/Nero (Dallas, Tx)
How do your friends/family feel about you playing video games competitively?
Perfec7 Uno (4:08 PM)
Well, my family is very supportive as I scrim and play. They sometimes will sit behind me and say good job or better luck next time. They'll go with me to events and the tournaments that I have planned. My friends, they just congratulate me. They tell me that they always knew I could do it.
john (sc)
are you friends with any halo 3 pros, ive been wondering do any of you guys ever talk at the events?
Perfec7 Uno (4:09 PM)
Yeah, we do. I'm actually pretty cool with Anarchy and Twilight and a couple of others. They don't try to downsize us so we don't downsize them. We get along pretty well.
Skippy (Indianapolis)
How did you manage to become one of the only breakout players in MLG? What steps did you take to get there?
Perfec7 Uno (4:11 PM)
Well, I played on the dailies and I'm very friendly and I got to know a lot of people. After a while you get to know people higher up and guys who have played for a while. Then you start scrimming and you get noticed. Game Battles is a good use to helping to becoming noticed. After I just kept playing. I went to my first event this year in April and I performed my best. It went well.
Timmy (Chi Town)
So why does the melee play such a important role into your game play as a team?
Perfec7 Uno (4:13 PM)
The melee plays an important role because some times the opposing players can be one shot from being down or you might be one shot down. And he loses over half his health. The melee becomes a very effective move in this game.
Steve (Bradenton, FL)
I know you used to play GOW and were on a pretty dominant Gamebattles team. I was wondering how the transition was from just playing GOW on Gamebattles to playing GOW 2 and knowing you were ready for MLG.
Perfec7 Uno (4:14 PM)
Well, first I was really good and I got noticed for being high on Game Battles and more people got to recognize me. Then I played on the higher standards. Then people wanted to play with me, so I picked the best players. I just stuck it out and in the end I was rewarded.
Jeremy (Lexington)
Do you ever play any sports games competively like Madden Challenge or anything like it?
Perfec7 Uno (4:15 PM)
No. I never really got into that. When I first started playing XBox, I played the sports games, but I didn't know about the competitions, I just played with my friends.
Perfec7 Uno (4:15 PM)
Thank you to all my fans. I love all you guys. I love my family and I love my girlfriend. Thank you for being supportive.
