If I need help in ERA and WHIP, what do you think of me picking up a guy like Bard or Kuo to help? Is this a worthwhile strategy? I am currently -80 IP.

Yes, but at this point it's really tough to make up ground in ERA/RAtio esp. with RP. Hard to say without knowing your league size, etc, where you are at, etc... to do it effectively you'll need more than just one guy.

What is keeping Steve Slaton out of the typical "first round" discussion? He's the featured back on a great offensive team, who plays indoors, has an above average QB, arguably the best WR in the league (AJ) to take pressure off, he's never been hurt, he catches passes, he was 2nd in the NFL in red-zone carries in 2008, he averaged 4.8 YPC and the head coach hasn't signed another back.... should I keep going?

Well, there's concern about him being a one year wonder... Remember Dominick Davis? I like him a lot and agree with you - he's probably going a but too low - but once you get past the first four, it's personal preference...
