Buzzmaster (10:00 AM)
Gooooooooooood morning!
Marc (Big D)
Good morning Buzz. I just sold that last half of my breakfast because it wasn't living up to my expectations and I felt I paid too much for it.
stacy (georgetown )
hey guys how are you?
Buzzmaster (10:01 AM)
Please don't be annoying today.
SteveFitz (Cicero, IL)
Back from Atlanta after 10 days and work still sucks.
Marc (Charlotte)
Super busy morning at work. Don't know how much I'll be able to contribute today.
Buzzmaster (10:01 AM)
So, nothing will change.
reice shipley (new york)
i tjink mark renoylds on the arizona diamandbacks is on a red hot streak i mean he has more home run's than i can ever imagin and vladimir gurrerro is on fire since he has been back i mean like he has had like 7 home run's since he has been back
Christian (High Point, NC)
Anyone else think that "mindless Vick speculation" has replaced "mindless Favre speculation" as the chief NFL media game?
Greg (Ellicott City)
Good morning Buzz.
Ryan (NY)
I'm superrr, thanks for asking.
Matt (IN)
Good morning everyone.
Greg (Ellicott City)
LUNCH CHAT!!!!
Marc (Charlotte)
I set you up for that Buzz. You should thank me.
Eddie (Long Island)
I agree with Skip, Tulowitzki's cycle was not that impressive!
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
What's up, Buzz? OK for me to come back to the chat?
Buzzmaster (10:02 AM)
You were gone?
Christian (High Point, NC)
While I understand why the rules for timing are in place, good for Tiger sticking up for Paddy.
Scott (Indy)
Ok, I've been thinking about the Ortiz (and everyone else) saying their supplements were spiked argument. I think I might be starting to believe them. Follow me here...they make money by people continuing to buy their product...people buy their product when they get results...the best way to ensure results is by having steroids hidden in their product. When I started thinking about it this way, I'm pretty surprised that a company WOULDN'T put steroids in their product.
Cory (PA)
Buzz, that's like telling water not to be wet.
Paul (Ft Worth)
Let's get ready to Stumble!!!
hayden (logan utah)
Tulo's cycle is still pretty sweet.
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
Kenny Williams getting a jaywalking ticket for crossing the street to get to Safeco while talking on his cellphone, hilarious. The fact that the cell phone call was to finalize the White Sox' absorbing Rios' HUGE contract, priceless. Nothing like $56 added onto millions and millions.
Christian (High Point, NC)
And today's "Excellent imitation of an ONB post" award goes to Reice Shipley.
Kev (NYC)
Buzz, it's been like 3 months back I'm back for one day
Vicki (Indiana)
quiet morning?
SteveFitz (Cicero, IL)
Why does Tony Dungy have so much invested in Michael Vick's return?
Buzzmaster (10:05 AM)
Because he's trying to help someone get his life turned around. Because Tony Dungy's a good human being.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Hey I just didn't want to be put in the same category with former WIR composer, Robert, who quit on the chat. I was just out of town.
Buzzmaster (10:06 AM)
Good distinction.
Christian (High Point, NC)
Scott: You mean besides the fact that it'd be completely illegal?
stacy (georgetown ky)
are any of my new friends in the room today? and what do you mean about annoying today?
Dave Dombroski (Detroit)
Yeah, Kenny Williams is an idiot. Say, do you think Dontrelle Willis should start throwing right-handed?
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Good morning, folks. Sorry I'm late!
Paul (Ft Worth)
A cycle is a cycle...duh
Bob (Lowell)
Morning Buzz, I haven't had time to search for mistakes that you won't own up to but I'm sure they're there.
Marc (Big D)
Uh oh is the caster down again?
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Buzz, I think the caster may be down again.
Marc (Charlotte)
Buzz, I don't believe the auto refresh is working.
Vicki (Indiana)
Scott, if that was true, I'd be able to lift my car by now
Brian (Michigan)
This chat still sucks, it just disappears on me at random.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Let me just say that Ocean City, MD, is highly overrated.
Greg (Ellicott City)
If Buzz and Prince Fielder show up to a buffett at the same time, who wins?
Christian (High Point, NC)
So everyone is upset about Brooks and Dunn breaking up, right? Right? *crickets*
Marc (Big D)
Almost time for Madden. It will be nice to have someone to throw with on the Bears.
Bob (Lowell)
So JB was in a town without internet?
Eric (Livingston)
C'mon Buzz, good human beings don't exist.
Louis (Fredericton, NB)
Nice thing to put up the jacket poll on SN. I thought it would be closer
Buzzmaster (10:10 AM)
The green jacket had an early lead yesterday, but the gold jacket seems to be running away with it.
Cory (PA)
Dave I think Dontrelle should start throwing strikes. BTW, First Take is thataway --->
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
That was a fairly tainted cycle. Tulo would have been dead at third with a good throw and if Soriano picks the ball up cleanly in LF to begin with, he might not even try for the triple.
Brian (Madison, WI)
And we call breathe a sigh of relief now that I am here.
Paul (Ft Worth)
Buzz wins by 3 ribs and a bowl pudding
Brian (Madison, WI)
The 64% of people that said they would rather have a gold jacket over a green jacket, would they take the major body aches and pains that come with playing a HOF NFL career?
Nate (Madison)
I thought Derrick Brooks and Warrick Dunn broke up a long time ago when Dunn went to Atlanta?
Hugh Hefner (Mansion)
I like my smoking jacket better.
Brian (Michigan)
Who cares, cycles aren't that great. I'd rather hit 4 home runs.
Alfonso Soriano (via mobile)
It's not my fault. You think I get paid for my defense?
Greg (Ellicott City)
No, J.B., OC, MD is properly rated. It sucks.
Drew (Buffalo)
Scott Porter!! Well done Buzz. I like it
Buzzmaster (10:13 AM)
Oh yeah! Hey everyone Jason Street is chatting at 3 today. Be sure to check it out.
Eric (Livingston)
Wait wait wait... Price is a vegetarian. No way that buffet-off is fair. Much better matchup: Buzz v. Andy Reid.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Green jackets match with more, don't they?
Trevor (Texas)
You can't fault Tulo for Soriano being a garbage LF...
Matt (IN)
Oh man, Nate. I can't bring myself to boo..
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Bob: Didn't bring the laptop to the beach. Vacation time is family time.
Cory (PA)
But, if he hadn't hit the ball really hard he probably wouldn't have had the homerun. I like this *if* game.
Jeff (Iowa)
Morning, Buzz! Been a long time! How is everyone?
Buzzmaster (10:15 AM)
Well, well, well. Look who it is. Thanks for all the hard work lately on the corn. I've been eating my fair share of it on the cob the last couple of weeks.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Hello, Jeff! Welcome back.
Eric (Livingston)
Is it too mean to say that he wouldn't have a leg to stand on in an argument (it's a Friday Night Lights joke)
Clinton (Indianapolis)
I had to go look that up. Did I mention I've never seen Friday Night Lights? *ducks debris*
Buzzmaster (10:15 AM)
It's your fault that the show is on the fence of being cancelled!
Jeff (Iowa)
Just wanted to check in and say hello and thanks for the nice thoughts regarding my wife. She is four weeks into recovery from her hip replacement and everything is going well. I hope to be a more active participant again in a couple of weeks (I know - thanks for the warning!).
Marc (Big D)
Is there something wrong with me that I didn't get Pulp Fiction. I get that it tied all of the people together but beyond that...
Buzzmaster (10:16 AM)
That's OK. I still can't stand that movie Crash. I don't get that one either. And I get yelled at when I say that.
JB (TX)
95% of triples are on poorly played balls in the OF. Who cares?
Brett (Butler,PA)
id rather hit 8 Dingers whats your Point Brian???
Sean (Philly)
Buzz, where did all these Mark's with a C come from?
JB (TX)
Jeff! How's your sis-in-law been?
George Brett (World of Awesomeness)
I hit for the cycle 3 times in one game.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Trevor: Not faulting Tulo but the official scorer for being a homer on a play that wasn't even close.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Haven't seen Crash. Heard it was pretty awful, though.
Bryan charlotte nc [via mobile]
Forget green jacket gold jacket i only wear my acid washed jean jacket covered in buttons i got from Spencers. Thats a champions jacket.
Matt (IN)
I guess I gotta duck to. I've never seen that show either.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
(Hanging head in shame for not knowing who the heck Jason Street is.)
Steve (Miami)
My Morning Buzz is drinking a lot of coffee.
Sean (Philly)
Andy Reid has lost around 75 pounds, bot sure he could keep up with Buzz.
chaz (sa tx)
what is wrong with you BUZZ CRASH WAS A GREAT MOVIE!!
Brett (Butler,PA)
Buzz,if i were you i would just focus on the MB instead of advertising for other chats.
Drew (Buffalo)
You aren't alone Buzz, I didn't really see what the whole deal with Crash was either.
Bryan charlotte nc [via mobile]
Crash was vastly overrated. Pulp Fiction was good but Reservoir Dogs is still Quentins best.
Jeff (Iowa)
Buzz, the sweet corn crop has been fantastic!! We've consumed quite a bit of it the last two weeks - have two dozen ears in the garage fridge ready to clean now!!! And JB, my sister-in-law is pretty much the same - she and my mother-in-law spent two weeks with us after the surgery. I will tell her you say hello - but she still thinks you are creepy with huge potential for stalking.
Rickey Henderson (Greatness)
Did everyone see Rickey get mentioned in the Page 2 article yesterday? He said Rickey was great and defining, but he failed to mention that Rickey defines greatness.
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
I too have never seen Friday Night Lights. And I refuse to duck.
Robbi (Clinton Ky)
Good grief, why do they send all the nut cases to me?
Nate (Madison)
Crash, the movie, wasn't awful. Maybe not the Picture of the Year, which it won, but a good movie.
Buzzmaster (10:21 AM)
Awful. Same with another movie that I can't remember that got a lot of praise but was turrible.
Brian (Michigan)
I think my point was 4 home runs is better than a cycle. But I see how that could get lost.
Trevor (Texas)
Good to see Mel Kiper Jr. is about to wake up from hibernation. I wonder if he locks himself in a basement after the draft is over, only emerging when college football starts again...
Cory (PA)
Oh no Buzz! You've angered chaz. You know he doesn't throw those caps around lightly, just look at his name!
chaz (sa tx)
<--- agrees with Bryan reservoir dogs is the best! i will always think of that movie when i hear "stuck in the middle with you"
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Yeah, Crash winning Best Picture over Brokeback Mountain will go down as one of the worst Oscar moments in history.
Christian (High Point, NC)
In movie circles, Crash is probably the biggest argument of the past decade. It appears people either hate it or love it. I prefer the one from the 90s with James Spader and Holly Hunter.
Good Taste (commen sense)
Me and buzz have never gotten along.
Eric (Livingston)
Then you've just been hit in the head with a stapler Tom
Bryan charlotte nc [via mobile]
Buzz i think you are thinking of Bio-Dome.
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
The real question, Jeff, is how does the Dorito crop look this year?
Nolan (Hartford)
So I have been sneezing a ridiculous amount yesterday and today, so the annoying lady like 3 desks away walked over with a bright pink sticky note, stuck it on my computer, and it says "Bless You". Thoughts on how to react?
Buzzmaster (10:23 AM)
I have plenty, but they all might end with you getting fired.
Drew (Buffalo)
You have to look at the movies Crash went up against, perhaps it was just an awful year for movies. I don't remember personally but that could be a reason it won Picture of the Year
Robbi (Clinton Ky)
I thought Directv had picked up FNL again this year.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Nolan, just smile, say thanks, and get on with your day.
Jay Bilas (Bristol)
I'll tell ya guys, JB (TX) has serious stalking potential with an enormous wingspan
Cory (PA)
Actually Trevor, he has to take a few weeks after any particularly stressful period to head up into the mountains. This gives him a chance to relax and his hair a chance to hunt game in the wild.
Brett (Butler,PA)
buzz is very smart,im pretty sure his IQ is 110.or was that his weight at birth...........?
Jeff (Iowa)
Well, Tom, the Dorito crop was on a record pace until some hail went through some of the large corn producing areas in the state over the weekend. Lots of damage in the northern part of the state - looks fantastic where I live - I anticipate Dorito prices to remain fairly constant.
Bryan charlotte nc [via mobile]
Reservoir Dogs kills. Some of the best dialog. The ear scene does tend to stick with you. "you gonna bark all day little doggie or are you gonna bite."
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
The movie I hate that everyone seems to love is Gladiator. Turribly boring.
Jeff (Iowa)
So, it's been a while since I've been here - any new MB lingo/vernacular that I need to get up to speed on? Anyone been in rehab?
Troy Tulowitzki (Denver)
Buzz why don't you complete the cycle by posting the ONB?
Greg (Ellicott City)
Too soon for the ONB?
Buzzmaster (10:26 AM)
Let's do it....
Craig (Medfiled MA)
You totally missed mint chocolate chip on your best ice cream poll!
James Delk (West Chester)
Who the hell is Scott Porter? Lame, just like the rest of this stuff. ESPN sucks.
RAY GORDON REID ( TOCOCA GA 33507)
MY COMMENT AT 10.25AM NOW NOW BUZZ I LOVE FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
Travis (Deer Isle, Maine)
Kyle Busch is racing like a phenom in the Nation Wide Series and all he can do is complain that 10 straight first and second finishes should all have been firsts. Is Kyke Busch trying to get all of the face to face time with the espn reporters kept on himself, so that no one checks to see if his nationwide car has P.E.F.'S(Performance Enhancing Fuels)?
Trevor (OR)
I swear if Nascar delays SN at 1 today for me again I will run Tony Stewart over! Thats worse than soccer and tennis delaying it
Mikey (New York)
Can anyone tell us who took Tony Dungy's place as the head coach for the Colt's?? and when did it take place..... Tony will be missed....
gary franklin (akron ohio)
I just love espn and sports and i just want to get this read on air i watch the show daily my girlfiriend hates it lol but plese jus read this on the air!!!! please!! lol
Trevor (OR)
So I saw on ESPN's privacy policy if I have any questions or comments to call this 1-800 number.. so I did and said I have a question.. Is Buzz really as great as I think he is..? And then I had a comment.. Yessss!!
Derek Jeter (Cuba)
do u like WAFFLES!!!
Ken (Wilmington, DE)
Why is it that Joel Zumaya gets no media attention? Yes, he is injured now, but the guy threw 104 mph this season, and nobody seems to care! Where's the love?
Timmy T. (Gainesville, FL)
Buzz, I saw the way you signed off the SN chat yesterday. It touched my heart, deeply, knowing God compelled you to speak that way. Only speak the truth, and you have nothing to fear.
Matt (Boulder, CO)
In the spirit of Jerry Seinfeld, the Little League World Series... What's with it. It is a joke. They play on tiny fields, can't lead off, and use softened rubber baseballs, yet they are glorified by appearing on ESPN when my 9 or 10 year old team would have clobbered any one of the teams. There are much better leagues and tournaments out there, talent wise. Why not show those?
Buzzmaster (10:27 AM)
And that's it....
Nate (Madison)
Agree to disagree. I put movies like Dude Where's My Car, Rob Schnieder movies, etc in the awful category. I can't put Crash in there with those.
JB (TX)
Actually my wingspan is pretty normal but my hops are ridiculous. I can still grab the rim at 5'10" and I'm in my 30s now...
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I never saw Crash or Brokeback Mountain and can honestly say my life has not suffered for it.
Drew (Buffalo)
is commen sense different from common sense?
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Crash was up against Capote, Munich, Good Night and Good Luck, and Brokeback Mountain. All four of those were really good movies.
Brian (Madison, WI)
Jeff, rehab is for quitters.
Bryan charlotte nc [via mobile]
Gladiator was good but it too is pretty weak for Best Picture.
stacy (georgetown)
buzz am in the room ?i dont see my posts?
Zack (Louisville, KY)
All Shooter McGavin wanted was a Gold Jacket, so that's good enough for me.
Sean (Philly)
A remake of a movie should never win Picture of the Year.
Brian (Michigan)
104 MPH! ZOMG! I'm a Tigers fan and I think Zumaya is garbage.
Jeff (Iowa)
I think Trevor in Oregon has some serious man love for Buzz.
Marc (Big D)
Matt in Boulder ladies and gentlemen.
Cory (PA)
I'm surprised Jeter was so curious as to your stance on waffles...
fred (omaha)
tell trevor in oregon to stalk someone else.
Vicki (Indiana)
I think I'm the only female on Earth who didn't like Gone With the Wind.
Buzzmaster (10:30 AM)
Frankly, I don't give a damn.
Buzzmaster (10:31 AM)
See what I did there?
Nate (Madison)
WHOA WHOA TOM...you hate Gladiator?!?! Wow. On that note, some old man wasn't happy that I was walking around the Coliseum asking if Russell Crowe was buried there or why the place looked so nice in the movie and why the city let it just fall apart over the last 9 years.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Did someone actually put down the LLWS in the ONB? How low can one stoop to put down baseball in its purest form?
Brian (Madison, WI)
I think the worst movies I've ever seen were some movie where Billy Crystal was a NBA ref and some Tom Cruise movie that I never understood. No idea on their titles.
Buzzmaster (10:32 AM)
Tom's son Connor is going to be in the remake of Red Dawn. Not sure how good of an actor he is, but I don't know how I feel about the remake. The original was awesome.
Jeff (Iowa)
Um, Buzz, have you seen the light, and I'm not talking about the fridge light in the middle of the night?
Jeff (Iowa)
I guess Brian answered my question!!!
Cory (PA)
Frankly my dear (Vicki), I don't give a damn.
Bob (Lowell)
Yea...your Rhett Buzzler imitation.
Trevor (Texas)
Gladiator was great. It was the quintessential epic film definately deserved Best Picture.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Went back and looked at some of the movies Gladiator was up against: Erin Brockovich, Chocolat, Traffic, and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. That's an interesting group.
Bryan charlotte nc [via mobile]
Shooter McGavin is a national treasure.
chaz (sa tx)
GO WOLVERIINES!!!!!!!
Vicki (Indiana)
Brian, the Billy Crystal one was Forget Paris. I need more details on the Cruise movie.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Tom Cruise movie that you never understood = Vanilla Sky?
Sean (Philly)
Wow, did you guys see that 5'10" guy jump and hang from the 8 foot net? He has mad hops.
James (Boston)
Gladiator was great, much better than Crash
fred (omaha)
stacy you are creepy, buzz doesnt like that stuff
Matt (IN)
What??? They can't remake Red Dawn. That is turribull.
Jeff (Iowa)
Did someone mention Robert is no longer with us - not literally, but not in the MB anymore? What happened?
Buzzmaster (10:35 AM)
He quit on us.
Johnny (Scranton, PA)
I think the Billy Crystal movie was called, "French Kiss."
Christian (High Point, NC)
I still don't understand the popularity of Gladiator and 300.
Zack (Louisville, KY)
Brian- Forget Paris is the Billy C movie. I'm guessing Vanilla Sky is the Cruise movie.
Nate (Madison)
I'm not a huge fan of any Sylvester Stallone movies. Rocky, Cobra, Rambo, etc. I can stomach them and sit through them, but none will make my favorite movies list.
Nolan (Hartford)
Buzz, can anyone even hear you when you sneeze, or are you too secluded?
Russel Crowe (Hotel)
Are you not entertained?
Vicki (Indiana)
I loved Gladiator. Still want to see 300.
Bryan charlotte nc [via mobile]
Buzz not big on the idea of a Red Dawn remake but the original has not aged well. Also Id take Traffic and Crouching Tiger over Gladiator.
Bob (Lowell)
He may have been put in solitary. Cut him a break.
JB (TX)
Tom Cruise movie I never understood: Jerry Maguire. I mean seriously, how do you get all the way up to the night before the draft and NOT have Cush signed to a deal? And who negotiated the Reebok deal to get him all those free shoes? Wasn't the writing on the wall, Jerry? I'm just sayin...
James (Boston)
Buzz, win the crowd, and you'll win your freedom
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
French Kiss is a Kevin Kline vehicle.
Robbi (Clinton Ky)
Oh It's working now!
Marc (Big D)
Almost Famous got the shaft that year to not atleast getting a nom.
Sean (Philly)
I am going to guess Eyes Wide Shut or Vanilla Sky for the Tom Cruise movie.
Jeff (Iowa)
Julia Roberts was really good in Erin Brockovich.
Bryan charlotte nc [via mobile]
We need the soviet union to reform. They made the best movie villians.
chaz (sa tx)
wow page started auto refreshing all of a sudden. good job buzz.
JB (TX)
JB's nominees for worst movie ever: Joe vs. the Volcano and Weekend at Bernie's 2. How could that possibly have a sequel?
Nate (Madison)
Kind of moving over to TV, The Wire doesn't get NEARLY the credit it deserves. Possibly one of the best TV series of all-time yet there are still many that have never seen it.
The Suits (Bristol)
Great. We fix the chat and Buzz gets the credit. Buzz always gets the....oh wait...nevermind.
Vicki (Indiana)
Heck, the first Weekend at Bernies was horrible.
Bernie (Beach chair)
(Waving)
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Good call, Sean. I'd forgotten about Eyes Wide Shut. That one was messed up, too.
Nolan (Hartford)
Loved Julia Roberts in Hook....
Fake Clinton (Indianapolis)
I remember when movies didn't have sound. Then Jazz Singer came out and ruined everything!
Jonathan (Madtown)
Worst Movie(s) ever? Anything with the name "Final Destination" in the title.
Christian (High Point, NC)
Weekend at Bernie's is a classic. "We didn't see anything -- I was looking at my watch" "I'm blind"
Jim (DC)
Red Dawn hasn't aged well? Check his papers!
JB (TX)
Forget Paris is the Billy Crystal movie you're thinking of. FYI, I am a former movie theater employee.
Greg (Ellicott City)
I got Weekend at Bernies 2 for free for buying a Papa Johns pizza a few years back.
Jeff (Iowa)
I don't think I've chatted since my son's baseball season ended. We got beat in the district finals, ended up ranked 9th in the state - he had a really good year, getting a lot of D-2 college interest - hopefully a good fall league can get him up the ladder some.
SteveFitz (Cicero, IL)
Best soviet enemy movie = Red Dawn
Eric (Livingston)
Weekend at Bernie's is my nominee for "most unrealistic plot that tries to be realistic". I like how rigormortis never set in with Bernie.
Zack (Louisville, KY)
Weekend at Bernies is an American masterpiece.
Marc (Big D)
I have heard people say how there weren't as many classic movies in the aughts as there were in the 90's and Chris Connely made the great point on the BS Report that alot of the epic TV series had taken over for some of the movies. The Sopranos, The Wire etc. Makes some sense.
Bryan charlotte nc [via mobile]
Oh Bernie Lomax will you never decay?
Buzzmaster (10:43 AM)
They should make a Weekend at Bernie's 3, in which time has passed in real time. So, it's like 10 years later in the movie and they're trying to pull the same tricks while the body is decaying.
Cory (PA)
Anyone remember that Patrick Swayze movie where he worked at a Road House as a bouncer and if anyone acted up in the Road House he would throw them out of the Road House? I think it was Dirty Dancing?
James (Boston)
Is it wierd that I never saw Caddyshack?
Sean (Philly)
Spies Like Us = Best Soviet Movie
Brian (Michigan)
Ivan Drago is the best evil Russian ever. It's not even close.
Robbi (Clinton Ky)
So that would be a horror film?
Bernie (Weekend at Bernie's III)
(Waving, arm falls off)
Paul (Ft Worth)
all time classic - hunt for red october
Bernie Lomax (home)
Look Paulie, don't kill them when I'm around
Nate (Madison)
Just watched Three Amigos last night. Not a top comedy but has some pretty funny parts in it.
Cory (PA)
Sure they could call it "Weekend at Bernie's 3: Decade in Prison"
Bob (Lowell)
No Cory. It was Ghost.
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
The movie I've never seen that everyone else has seen (at least everyone else my age of 33) is Top Gun.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Would you say I have a plethora of pinatas?
James (Boston)
Top Gun blows, don't waste your time Tom
Brian (Michigan)
I loved the attempt to pass Irish Sean Connery over as Russian.
Vicki (Indiana)
oh my brother and I watched Top Gun a million times. One summer that was the only movie he'd watch.
Chris (Philly)
Three Amigos is classic.
Sean (Philly)
Yes James, that is really wird. And I am not sure, but I would go with Roadhouse, and I wouldn't make fun of it, or Patrick Swayze might rip your throat out.
Brian (Madison, WI)
They just prop up a skeleton and have a bunch of dumb blonde beach bums talking to Bernie? Sounds good to me.
Fletch (Fletch II: Fletch Lives)
All I have to do is get a computer. And then a 10 year old kid to show me how to use it.
Buzzmaster (10:46 AM)
Fletch was great. The second one, not so much, if I remember correctly.
Cory (PA)
New ranking! Worst Movie Remake/Sequel Ever. I vote for Blues Brothers 2000, the Poseidon Adventure and any of the Freaky Friday's
Matt (IN)
I'm Gonna Git You Sucka > all these other movies you people keep talking about
Trevor (Texas)
Back to the Future is also a classic movie.
Jonathan (Madtown)
Top Gun, one of the best movie soundtracks all time?
RJ (Boston)
Top Gun is GREAT!... It is...! First you';ve got Maverick, he's right there. He's on the edge...
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Movies I've Never Seen that Everyone Else has seen: All the Karate Kid movies, all the Rocky movies.
Buzzmaster (10:47 AM)
Well, I'm not sure anyone has seen all the Karate Kid movies. I know I haven't gotten to Karate Kid VIII yet.
ryan (ny)
YEAAA IM gonna git you sucka, whasuppp
Maverick (Top Gun)
That's right.......Ice........man. I am dangerous.
Sean (Philly)
Caddyshack 2. No questions asked.
Keith (MD)
The Outsiders has more actors before they became famous than the law allows.
tom* (parkville, md)
I just sent two employees to adjust some shelves. I gave them rubber mallets. I am concerned.
Brian (Michigan)
Top Gun is an awesome 80's movie. You guys take these movies way too seriously. I loved it when Val Kilmer wore Aviator sunglasses in a bar at night with a girl on his arm while sipping his drink. Talk about cool.........
Brian (Michigan)
Wargames is an underrated USA vs USSR movie.
Buzzmaster's Evil Twin ((Somewhere, USA))
How about best Sports movie ever. (It's as close as we'll ever get to talking about sports.)
James (Boston)
The last Karate Kid I saw had Hilary Swank I think...wats up with that?
David (Banning)
Why I waste my time reading the posts I missed I'll never know.
Jeff (Iowa)
When did Buzz put Cory in charge? And when did he lose his show on Nickelodeon?
Jim (DC)
That's a negative, ghost rider.
Nate (Madison)
Everytime I see those old VW vans I can't help but yell "IT'S THE LIBYANS!"
Buzzmaster (10:49 AM)
I will forever call those vans terrorist vans. Always.
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
Nate: My wife and I do the same thing. Classic line.
Drew (Buffalo)
The last katate kid was horrible. but I watched it about 30 times.... not sure why, but I had to get that off my chest
Chris (md)
Talladega Nights is a great movie.
David (Banning)
How much for one rib?
Christian (High Point, NC)
Me too, Buzz. That's why I've started blowing up hippies, to save Doc Brown.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I'm sure they missed a few things in the Back to the Future series but overall they nailed almost every change that would have happened due to the events of the time travels. Remember that they even changed the name of the mall because when Marty went back the first time he knocked over a pine tree.
Doc Brown (Twin Pines Mall Parking Lot)
They've found...I don't know how but they've found me...RUN FOR IT MARTY!
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Favorite part from Top Gun: Watching the guy carrying the tray of coffee getting run over by the tower supervisor.
Nate (Madison)
Can I get a TAB. Hey son, you have to order something to start a tab. Ok, give me a pepsi-free. You want a pepsi, you have to pay for it. (sorry, it was on this weekend)
Brian (Michigan)
Alright the 80s movie talk has got me back on board.
Christian (High Point, NC)
Lunch chat: Last remaining grilled hoot dog
chaz (sa tx)
funniest thing to do is to call ur local radioshack and ask if they carry flux capacitors.. good stuff..childish, but great.
Sean (Philly)
Miracle is a great USA vs Russia movie, and is also probably a top 5 sports movie.
Alex (Littleton, CO)
Nominee for best sports movie: Original Mighty Ducks
JB (TX)
Best line in I'm Gonna Git You Sucka "You can take the window, or you can take the stairs."
Bryan charlotte nc [via mobile]
Just you 37 punks against kung fu joe?
George McFly (1955)
You're my density.
Marc (Big D)
OK this is getting bizarre. My famous cube neighbor just turned on Lady Gaga for like 10 seconds. He is like 50.
Sean (Philly)
Hoot Dog...I haven't seen that on here in a while.
James (Boston)
I think I'm too young to really GET the whole 80s scene
Chris (Philly)
How about Pedro getting moved into the starting rota....I forgot, I have to go to a movies website to talk about sports.
Nate (Madison)
I've come to think what I could have done for this world if my brain got rid of all the movie quotes in my head and used that space for something productive.
Buzzmaster (10:53 AM)
Probably not much more than you're doing now.
Brian (Michigan)
I'm only 23, but my brother is 30 and I grew up watching whatever he watched.
Matt (IN)
And as far as a non-sports 80s movie is concerned, Breakfast Club is awesome.
Robbi (Clinton Ky)
Lunch: grilled pork chop, pasta salad, unsweet tea.
JB (TX)
Lunch: Something cheap, maybe Jack in the Box. HUGE Back to the Future plot hole - How does Biff get back from to 2015 and return the Delorean? The 2015 he would be returning to would be based off of the messed up 1985 Marty and Doc were about to return to. Other than that, great movie. I'm just sayin...
Greg (Ellicott City)
Buzz, could you please call Whine One One to get a Whambulance for Chris (Philly).
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Lighten up, Chris.
Buzzmaster (10:54 AM)
I don't want to speak for Chris, but I think he was being sarcastic. Granted, he didn't slop on enough of it.
Vicki (Indiana)
lunch: whatever is in my parents' kitchen. going to their place today after UPS delivers two packages due to arrive today.
Sean (Philly)
Pizza, delivered or frozen is still up in the air.
tom* (parkville, md)
People who remove all movie quotes from their head are evil, evil people.
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
You can't talk 80's movies wthout mentioning all the great action: Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, and all the Schwarzenegger movies. Great stuff.
Christian (High Point, NC)
Best two movies of the 80s are still Fright Night and Fraternity Vacation.
Jeff (Iowa)
Lunch - grilled brauts and sweet corn - hungry, Buzz?
Buzzmaster (10:54 AM)
Always.
Alex (Littleton, CO)
Lunch: White Pizza
Buzzmaster (10:54 AM)
Nasty.
Biff (Hill Valley)
My insurance? It's your car, YOUR insurance should pay for it. I wanna know who's going to pay for this. I spilt beer all over my jacket when that car ran into me.
Nate (Madison)
Ok, it hasn't been mentioned yet so I will. Ghostbusters, classic. Hands down.
tom* (parkville, md)
Vote for Pedro!
Brian (Madison, WI)
75% of Nate's vocabulary is movie quotes.
Ed Harris (Cleveland)
Yo bartender, Jobu needs a refill!!!
Sean (Philly)
Fraternity Vacation? Never even heard of that.
James (Boston)
the Die Hard flicks are great, and they have aged very well (especially Die Hard 2)
Drew (Buffalo)
Lunch: I'm thinkin arbys
Marc (Big D)
I might go double duty on Chick-Fil-A today. Breakfast did me some good. Chicken is good for you right?
Chris (Philly)
I still think Ferris Bueler's Day Off is the best movie of the 80's.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
The Blues Brothers is a classic, too.
loyd (D and D'er)
SAAAAAaaaaaaaMSSSoooooonite!!!!!
Jeff (Iowa)
Okay, folks, I think I will get back to work. It has been great coming back for at least a day. They may check my sanity for saying this, but I have missed the MB. Peace out.
Nate (Madison)
You ever try to pick up a girl asking if she was the gate keeper? No? Neither have I, just checking.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Lunch: Sandwich, chips, and a soda.
RJ (Boston)
Airplane! is still the best comedy ever put to the big screen.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Caddyshack and the original Vacation were two outstanding 80s comedies.
Trevor (Texas)
Die Hard is a classic series until Die Hard 4...
Matt (IN)
Naked Gun movies had some good stuff too.
SteveFitz (Cicero, IL)
Someone tried to explain to me once how someone who travels to the future sees himself in the future. How is that possible if you left the present to go to the future? Made my head spin he was such a nerdy treky.
Steve Carell (Hollywood)
KELLY CLARKSON!!!!
Chris (md)
How come the Sox got Alex Rios off waivers. Its not like they are in the AL East
JB (TX)
Don't underrate Beverly Hills Cop as a great 80s movie either.
Brian (Michigan)
I still make the "drinking problem" joke when I spill my drink on my shirt.
Jim (DC)
Best 80s sports movie was Lucas
Chevy Chase (On vacation)
What about my vacation movies? Those are classic!
Matt (IN)
Hoosiers > all other sports movies
Buzzmaster (11:00 AM)

Best '8o's sports movie = Bull Durham
