Scott will be here any second...and he has to tape an interview with Troy Tulowitzki. So, this chat may have a little A.D.D., but we'll get it done nevertheless. Meanwhile, get your questions in!
Scott Van Pelt (1:06 PM)
Tulo is on the phone right now...I'm ribbing him about his cycle. It wasn't a triple.
Eric (Livingston)
Any relation to Bo Van Pelt?
Scott Van Pelt (1:07 PM)
Nope, not at all. People call me Bo by accident sometimes though.
Ken (Dallas, PA)
hey scott, ever try wearing contacts?
Scott Van Pelt (1:08 PM)
Yeah, tried them for a day. They bothered my like crazy. Never again. Then again, my radio logo wouldn't make much sense anymore if I went contacts.

i love your show, but you know what i love even more? your commercials pumping up your show. i hear them most often during colins show. that music in the background coupled with whatever you happen to be talking about legitimately fire me up. its almost like the final scene of last of the mohicans or when andy dufrane busts out of jail and the rain is pouring down on him. to be honest, your commercials aren't quite that good, but they get about as close as a talk show radio commercial can get. keep up the good work.
Scott Van Pelt (1:10 PM)
Wow....that's deep. I'll tell the production folks! Almost off the phone with Tulo.
Clay (Charlotte)
Double and an error...tell him Peezy...it was a doulble.
Scott Van Pelt (1:11 PM)
I did. He laughed and said "hey, it's in the books as a triple, so it's a triple!" He doesn't believe it either.
David (Duluth, GA)
What's your take on the Stallworth suspension?
Scott Van Pelt (1:13 PM)
I have a lot on this...tune into the show at 2 PM ET to hear it all.
Joe (Austin)
So what was Ryen's excuse for not chatting this week?
Scott Van Pelt (1:14 PM)
He's on vacation. Weeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaak.
Drew (Buffalo)
You're hardly chatting this week too, so lay off Ryen!
Scott Van Pelt (1:17 PM)
Sorry, got in late and Tulo was on the phone to tape the interview. Tried to chat during that, now working with producers to figure out the show. The last 10 minutes of this chat will be on fire.
Clay (Charlotte)
Madden releases tomorrow. Excited?
Scott Van Pelt (1:19 PM)
I'm an NCAA guy. I've never even played Madden in the 2000's. Last time I was playing it, was when I was at Maryland on Sega. If you got to the corner with Thurman Thomas and hit the B button, he gained like 20 yards on the spin. I would whip your #%# in that game.
Joel (Ohio)
Tiger is charging at the PGA... if he is leading after day one is the win a lock?
Scott Van Pelt (1:21 PM)
Hard to think otherwise, his first round in the other three majors this year have been garbage and he still had chances at Augusta and Bethpage. If he's not having to make up ground after round 1, he's an enormous favorite.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
OK so are you anxiously awaiting the release of NCAA '10?
Scott Van Pelt (1:22 PM)
Awaiting??? Come on playa!!! I'm in the ACC championship game against North Carolina! Coincidentally, they are unbeaten and #1.
Craig G. (Fairfield, CA)
Hey SVP, how much do you think Rick Pitino's "situation" will negatively impact the public's view of Louisville and their recruiting?
Scott Van Pelt (1:23 PM)
As I was saying yesterday, the type of recruit that's looking at Louisville is typically a top 50 type kid. All those players think they are going to the NBA. Pitino's coached in the NBA and gets players to the NBA, what I'm saying is I don't think they care.
Steve (Syracuse)
SVP- What are your thoughts on the media attention that Paulus is bringing the Syracuse football program? Do you think he will make an impact this year, and more importantly, will you tune in September 5 to see if he does anything when Syracuse takes on Minnesota?
Scott Van Pelt (1:25 PM)
If he does, it speaks to two things. 1) He really was a great quarterback 2) Syracuse has really fallen as a football programI know they beat Notre Dame last year, but if you take a point guard from Duke and turn him into your starting QB 6 months later...what are you doing?
Rick (Key West, FL)
As a Cubs fan, I'm absolutely embarassed with the bleacher fan dumping his beer on Victorino last night. How do we control one idiot from people generalizing about the whole fan base?
Scott Van Pelt (1:28 PM)
It's a great point. I know Philly fans are pointing West and yelling "SEE!" The truth is it's a party in the bleachers, everyone knows it, and drunks do dumb things. It's not exclusive to Wrigley Field. The Bleacher Bums ought to do like MLB and police themselves.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
What type of offense are you running and at what skill level? I prefer the spread offense with a lot of option plays. Also, do you do the recruiting or do you just play a season then start again from scratch?
Scott Van Pelt (1:30 PM)
My beef with the game is that I can't customize my playbook anymore. The folks at EA assure me, next year they will fix this. I run Maryland's offense, which I've become proficient with, but I miss a little Flex Bone flavor.
Scott Van Pelt (1:31 PM)
Sorry I was a little late to the party, and wasn't firing off answers initially. I will explain on the air...Essentially I missed the bus. Remember that feeling? Yeah...sucks doesn't it? See you at 2.
ESPNRadio.com (1:32 PM)
Tune in on ESPNRadio.com as we'll be joined by Troy Tulowitzki, Penn State DC Tom Bradley, Merril Hoge, and Mike Tirico.
Bryan (Davis, Ca)
Why isn't anybody talking about the 7 blown calls in the Dodgers-Giants game. Unfortunately the first game was decided by the blown calls and the last game almost was too. The giants have a hard enough time playing the Dodgers with out the umpires helping the Dodgers out too.
ESPNRadio.com (1:32 PM)
(BONUS QUESTION)Bryan you are right, there were some of the worst calls I've ever seen in that game, it was really remarkably bad. That's all.
