Buzzmaster (10:00 AM)
Gooooooooood morning!
Bob (Lowell)
Let's go.
Pete (NC)
So it seems LeGarrette Blount was ITG all along.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Good morning, folks! Happy Friday!
LeGarrette Blount (Smurf Turf)
What was that Buzz? What'd you say to me? **Punches Buzz in the face**
LaGarrette Blount (Oregon)
Buzz, if you don't start this chat on time I'm going to punch you in the face.
me (my house)
Pedro is good again, spent a lot of time at home in the Dominican... Anyone else think he might be taking a new Dominican wonder drug?
stephanie (cincy)
Well Buzz, the start of the CFB season didn't quite turn out as I expected. One snooze fest followed by an assault and battery. Wow
Jordan (Peoria)
What did you say to me Buzz? (Punches Buzz) That's right, I am the man now son! I just put my whole career in the tank but I showed you what was up!
Mark (HOFCity)
Hey. Is this thing on?? Here goes: WOOOOOO! PIG! SOOIE!
Tim (ATL)
As a very embarrassed duck fan, can i be the first to say that Blount needs to be kicked off the team... i'll be more embarrassed if he's allowed to wear the oregon uniform again
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Hey Buzz you're early and by early I mean on time.
Bob (Lowell)
Fantasy injuries at 11:00 am. Is that like injuries suffered by hypocondriacs?
Johnstone (Wicker Park)
Happy Friday you savage.
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
Sad, sad news about Ernie Harwell. What a great man.
Marc (Charlotte)
NC State and South Carolina set football back 40 years last night.
Urban Meyer (Gainesville)
You're either for going for 2 in the 1st quarter or you aren't. If you aren't, then you probably shouldn't watch when we play Tennessee, because I'm going to run it up on them.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Purdue takes on Toledo this weekend. I've got a weird feeling about this, because Joe Tiller's first game as head coach of the Boilers was a loss to...that's right, Toledo.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I did not watch any of the CFB games last night and from the scores, it appears as though I didn't miss anything.
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
LeGarrette Blount is just preparing for his NFL career as a Bengal.
Buzzmaster (10:04 AM)
And once again we see the hit and than back away, a la Carmelo Anthony. "Hey look at me! I'm Mr. Tough guy! I'm going to punch you like a big tough man and then run away cuz I'm so tough!"
Matt (IN)
Good morning everyone. The Harwell news sucks.
Johnstone (Wicker Park)
Instead of being buried or cremated, I think I'm going to opt for being stuffed.
XACGIRL (New York)
I am trying to find out if there are any internet sites that will air the SEC football season. I live in the Northeast and can't seem to watch any of my teams games on TV!! HELP!!!
Buzzmaster (10:05 AM)
Uhhhhh, it's called CBS.
Brian (Madison, WI)
Not justifying what Blount did, but it seems like no one is pointing out the fact that the Boise St. guy went out of his way to taunt him. Win with some class and then maybe stuff like that wouldn't happen to you.
Buzzmaster (10:05 AM)
The Boise St. player SAID something to the guy and the Oregon player HIT him. Not exactly a rational reaction.
Ryan (San Diego)
The Boise St guy was taunting him a little...no excuse for punching the guy, but a 2 handed shove was probably the right play there
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
I'll never forget curling up in my bed listening to Harwell when I was a kid. Besides my Mom, Harwell was the biggest influence on me as a baseball fan.
Bob (Lowell)
Buzz is always stuffed.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
As if the punch wasn't bad enough, he then wanted to go after the fans, a la Ron Artest. I'd be stunned if he gets less than a rest of the season suspension.
Internet Tough Guy (Cyberspace)
No I'm Mr. Tough Guy Buzz
Scott (Brewtown)
I tried to watch the Packer game last night...really, i did. I, unfortunately fell asleep on the couch by 7:30 due to the high level of excitement in the game.
Marc (Charlotte)
Bloodsport was on last night, I got roped in to watching it for 20 minutes for no apparent reason.
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
Besides, wasn't Blount doing the smack talking before the game? The Boise State player was just returning the favor after the win.
Rickey Henderson (Hall of Fame)
Rickey never played college football, but if Rickey did Rickey'd be the greatest college football player of all-time.
Brian (Madison, WI)
That will learn him for running his mouth. Maybe next time you should take your win and head to the locker room rather than find the nearest opposing player and talk smack to him.
John (Georgia)
It's football. Taunting occurs after ever single play
Jason (Ellicott City, MD)
No one is in the office today. Shocking.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
So, because you get taunted, that makes you justified to assault someone?
Christian (High Point, NC)
Nate wanted me to tell y'all he's going to Boston. I'm relaying this information not so much because we'll wonder where he is, but because it should be a warning to all Bostonians to lock your doors and secure your alcohol.
XACGIRL (New York)
They do not televise all the games though. Only a handful this year.
Buzzmaster (10:08 AM)
Uhhhhh, then move to the state where your team plays.
Mark (HOFCity)
Good thing Blount doesn't live in Ohio. GF's daughter did the exact same thing to a girl in a bar and is now serving 7 freakin years!
Anthony (NY)
Jordan was up by 2 and in three questions only had to get one right. Got every single one wrong.
Buzzmaster (10:09 AM)
I officially stopped watching Big Brother last night. I might check out the ending of the finale show, but with the remaining players, maybe only one is deserving of the money.
John (Georgia)
I tend to disagree that a cheap shot and subsequent running away "learns" anyone.
Clay (Charlotte)
I hit a guy in college because he spit a beer on me...but he was running his mouth too, does that make me a bad person?
Mark (HOFCity)
I hate judges, lawayers and anyone else involved in the NON-justice system.
stephanie (cincy)
XACGIRL, google any SEC team's fan clubs. There is sure to be a bar in NYC that shows all of their games.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Natalie with a shocking HOH upset last night. This is going to get interesting. Looks like Jordan and Michelle get nominated Sunday.
Buzzmaster (10:11 AM)
It doesn't even matter who wins the HOH in the week of the final four. It's all about who wins the veto. Basically, whoever wins the veto ends up being the person who has the power to vote out whoever they want.
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
People get this confused all the time, but technically what he did was battery. Assault is when you threaten someone with immediate harm. Battery is the harm itself. Hence, the charge of assault AND battery.
samson (east LA)
You people need to toughen up. Guy got punched, so what. We've all thrown a punch and no assault charges were brought against us. If I were the Boise player, I would refuse to press charges. Take it like a man; dust yourself off and have a beer. Laugh about it later. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeesh. Bunch girls in here
Dalton (Dallas)
Well i guess the best thing that can be said about Blount is thank goodness for him he isn't n the NFL, that punch would have cost him a couple mil in playtime bonuses.
Johnstone (Wicker Park)
Buzz, Raycom shows a ton of SEC games. Just buck up and buy Gameplan.
Jason (Ellicott City, MD)
Can you tell SEC whiner to get the ESPN game plan then and can it?
Brian (Madison, WI)
It's not acceptable, but don't taunt people. You never know who the crazy ones are. There are some really dumb people out there.
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
Does any reality contestant ever really "deserve" the money, Buzz?
Buzzmaster (10:12 AM)
Some times.
Christian (High Point, NC)
Can't we have a "1 day a week only BB discussion" rule?
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
Oh, man, Big Brother talk again? Yuck.
Mark (HOFCity)
Go ahead and admit it. You missed me, didn't you?
Robbi (Clinton Ky)
Hello. Have I missed anything?
Scott (Brewtown)
I'm heading up to northern Wisco again this weekend. Shockingly it's supposed to be sunny and in the mid 70's the entire time. Personally I think the Stateof Wisco bribed the weathermen to falsify the forecast in the good name of tourism.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Michelle is right now the most deserving of the money. Kevin would be my runner up for his orchestration of the lies to get Jeff out. Jordan is most annoying of the remaining four. Natalie is just a coat tailer who did one significant thing.
Buzzmaster (10:13 AM)
Natalie hasn't done squat.
Johnstone (Wicker Park)
When has missing any part of this chat amounted to "anything"?
Bob (Seattle)
wow answer 5 questions and get 1 mil bucks impressive
Clinton (Indianapolis)
And samson takes the early lead for Tool of the Day!
Natalie (BB House)
This is for you Chima! You quitting and primadona hussy! This one is for you because I think you got hosed!
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Telling people to toughen up/man up/take it like a man: Tool-like.
Jason (Ellicott City, MD)
Sarcasm aside, what is there to see in Wisconsin?
Marc (Charlotte)
Asking "Have I missed anything?" in the MB is like asking if Nate and Brian are sober on the weekend? Everyone knows the answer.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
She won HOH yesterday, Buzz. Kind of significant.
Buzzmaster (10:16 AM)
True, but this week, the power of veto really holds the power, because there's only one vote. Jordan/Michelle wins it, they vote out whoever they want.
Brian (Madison, WI)
Uh oh Scott, I'm heading to northern Wisco as well. Beautiful weather. Nate was supposed to head up with me, but then randomly bought a ticket to Boston and is now on a flight out there.
Marc (Charlotte)
The Miller Brewing Company.
Bob (Seattle)
cheese
XACGIRL (New York)
I'm sorry, I thought I was actually in a Sports Fan Chat room? APparently I was mistaken. Not whining...just asking for advice. Won't be back, here in the future.
Scott (Brewtown)
Northern Wisconsin if one giant forest, with about 5-6,000 lakes. If you dont like the outdoors, nothing to do. Southern Wisconsin is about as exciting as Nebraska
Eric (Atlanta)
One Game for the punch!!! Nice example that would be- JOKE
samson (east LA)
Tool-like is not just secretly watching reality shows, but openly discussing them
Alfonso Soriano (Chicago)
I'm already on vacation.
Buzzmaster (10:17 AM)
And have been for months now.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Let's see: Kevin wins veto = Jordan gone; Jordan wins veto = Kevin gone; Michelle wins veto = Kevin gone; Natalie wins veto = Jordan gone. Based on that, Michelle and Natalie seem safest for this coming week.
Buzzmaster (10:17 AM)
I don't know. I think Kevin and Natalie focus on Michelle. Jordan's easier to win competitions against.
Ryan (San Diego)
How much more for the punch? The guy wasnt hurt...if you go past 2-3 games you're overkilling it
Buzzmaster (10:18 AM)
Him getting hurt has nothing at all to do with the suspension.
samson (east LA)
XACGIRL, this is not a sports fan chat room. This is a chat room for whiny crybaby "men" who love to talk reality TV.
Mark (HOFCity)
XACGIRL = XMB'ER.
chaz (sa tx)
<-- kinda suprised erin andrews picked oprah over buzz do chat with.
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
It's not just the punch. He also tried to charge into the stands, Artest style.
samson (east LA)
Thank you RYAN!!! Finally someone with a brain of their own!
Ryan (San Diego)
I think it does Buzz...check Todd Bertuzzi suspension thanks
Buzzmaster (10:19 AM)
Yeah. He got a suspension appropriate for blindsiding someone.
Phil (Happy Valley)
Blount=gone for the year
Tom (River North)
Just read that the university will have to make a decision on Blount because the punch didn't happen during the game. I'm guessing he gets 6 games.
Jason (Ellicott City, MD)
If Sheriff Goodell ran CFB he would suspend him for a year.
tom* (parkville, md)
Maybe the best penalty would be forcing him to live in Boise.
Robbi (Clinton Ky)
Coach Cal is coming here Monday for a pep rally and I'm going to miss it.
Christian (High Point, NC)
This chat is slowly entering the twilight zone.
Louis (Fredericton, NB)
bertuzzi's punch was way more dangerous. A full strengh punch behind the head and he fell on the guy afterward
Clay (Charlotte)
Having a brain and using it correctly are mutally exclusive.
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
Only the Bengals will now consider Blount during the draft. That's punishment enough.
Chad (Denmark via Vegas)
Man I missed the punch. Any suspension for the guy yet?
Buzzmaster (10:21 AM)
Not that I've heard of.
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
Cant stay long, gotta 'work' for a sc, but, hey Buzz, hows it hangin'? That oregon guy has a wicked right cross eh? Wonder if Dana White saw it.
Marc (Charlotte)
Don't worry Robbi, in a year or so Coach Cal will have to vacate his visit.
Ryan (San Diego)
Well this guy's punch was a sucker punch from the side...you're telling me if he broke this guy's jaw or something more serious the suspension talk wouldnt be for the season?
Buzzmaster (10:23 AM)
He threw a punch. Period. For the most part, that's kinda all you need to know.
Chad (Denmark via Vegas)
Whoa I just saw the low-light of that puch on ESPN.com. That kid needs to go. I don't care what the other kid said he should be suspended for at least 4 games for that sucka punch.
Jason (Ellicott City, MD)
Fact or fiction. I am > Greg.
Buzzmaster (10:23 AM)
Fiction. You = Greg.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
This is not about the damage but the act. Blount should be suspended indefinitely for that display.
Scott (Brewtown)
What caused Nate to spur of the moment jump on a plane to Boston? Mail order Bride?
chaz (sa tx)
cmon everyone saw it it was not a sucker punch the guys eyes were on him the whole time, he didint think he was going to do it. does it make it right?> NO, but it was not a sucker punch
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Gang I have to run. I have some unpleasantness to deal with regarding one of my direct reports. Enjoy the long holiday weekend, stay safe, and get out and have some fun. For the MB FFLers, get your draft rankings in order because the autodraft happens at 5:00 AM Sunday. Peace.
stephanie (cincy)
Tyler Moeller from Ohio State got suckered punched in a bar in Florida. He had to have brain surgery and is out for the season, or longer. The guy who did it was charged with felony assault. I guess it is only a crime if doesn't happen of the field after the game.
Marc (Charlotte)
He's also a college student. I'm sure the Univeristy has some sort of rules/guidelines for player conduct.
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
What did Marcus Vick get kicked out of VT for, stomping on a dude in a play? Hes gone for good in my book.
Kids (everywhere)
Those guys are supposed to be role models for us! They can't punch people! What kind of example does that set? We blame ESPN!
Ryan (San Diego)
So why so much outrage over this when fights happen all the time in every sport?
Buzzmaster (10:26 AM)
I think your sense of "all the time" may be off. There are 32 teams in MLB and they all play 162 games. There have been, what?, handful of "incidents" this year. That's not really all the time.
Marc (Charlotte)
What sports do you watch Ryan?
Christian (High Point, NC)
The only conduct Oregon will punish you for is not wearing Nike
Chad (Denmark via Vegas)
4 games and take 1/2 his scholarship away. That would be just in my book.
Sean (Philly)
"I have some unpleasantness to deal with regarding one of my direct reports." Someone must be eating up J.B.'s bandwidth and is causing his posts to come in late.
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
Well buzznation, stay buzzed, hope to see some more mma style football this weekend!!
Ryan (San Diego)
Hayden, cmon. Vick did like 10 things before that. The stomp was the last of his many lives
Michael Vick (Philly, PA)
C'mon, people, I scored a TD! Why we talking about a punk, we should talk about me!
Christian (High Point, NC)
Fact: Fights rarely happen in Rowing
Jason (Ellicott City, MD)
Maybe Ryan is confusing every sport with boxing/mma.
Greg (Ellicott City)
Can we talk about something important? Like Bret Favre? Or Vick? Or rowing?
Mark (HOFCity)
Another example of a BCS-school beating up on a lower tier school!
Marc (Charlotte)
Buzz, how about lightenin the mood with a little ONB action?
Buzzmaster (10:27 AM)
Let's do it.....
Maury Povich (TV Stage)
Dirk Nowitzki, you are NOT the father. In fact, she is not even pregnant!!
Julian (Myrtle Beach, SC)
I think that if Blount from Oregon is suspended then the Boise State player that provoked Blount should be suspended too. You all are stuck on the punch and leaving out what really started it. As a sports fan, as a person that pays attention to the news, and what goes on around him I notice that for every action there is a reaction, but you all aren't looking that way because if you was then you all would say that both players should be suspended. Is because Blount is a black athlete?
LeGarrette Blount (Ore)
Anyone got somethin to say to me?
Jack (FLetcher NC)
i would like to see more questions and answers from fans themselves on the show. get some crazy fans and just let it rip!
Jesse Ashe (Kelso, WA)
i just got done watching the Broncos Ducks game. And I must say that Legarrette Blount needs to be benched. That was a horrible thing for the Ducks. i admit I think the shaking hands before a game isn't that great of idea. But what Blount should not be accepted. The team should sit hime for three or four games!
Jeff (Nashville)
That guy from Oregon deserves to lose his scholarship. What a jerk! If I was the coach, he'd be gone now!!!!
Nate (Madison)
Buzz, I hope I make the ONB!!! I'm buzzed, little late....was out for a bit tonight with Brian and Jon. However I will miss the TMB due to the fact I got a last minute flight to Boston to visit my cousin. EVERYONE TAKE CARE AND HAVE A SAFE WEEKEND!
Leon B (Plano TX)
Tonight I have witnessed the wrost display of sportsmanship, ever in a collage football game L Blunt should not only have to sit out the next game, but the rest of the season. I understand how emotions can run high afther a loss, but if this young man can not conduct himself properly on the feild of play, then he does not need to be on the feild. I hope that Oregon does not let Mr Blount off the hook.
Mike (Seattle)
Get that guy from Oregon out of football! Goin after opposing players and then trying to go after the fans! Blount we are past this! Get out of here!
Dirk Nowitzki (via mobile)
*tremendous sigh of relief*
Quentin (Green Bay)
My god! The Brewers actually won a game! It's a miracle! The Milwaukee Brewers actually did something relevant!
Paul Sandman (Albuquerque NM)
When I click on your tv schedule
Buzzmaster (10:28 AM)
And that's it....
Christian (High Point, NC)
Ok, I have a meeting to go to. Everyone have a great Labor Day weekend, try not to labor too hard, and we'll come back here Tuesday ready and waiting to tackle the week ahead. Peace out!
Robbi (Clinton Ky)
I would like to see a fight happen in rowing!
Buzzmaster (10:29 AM)
What do they do? Take their oars and start splashing the other boats?
Tom (River North)
I thought the best thing I saw was this poster: "Oregon = Paris Hilton. Famous for nothing and a rich daddy."
Cory (PA)
Not even a drunken Nate could save that ONB
Jonathan (Madtown)
Quentin, the win was great but when you are 16 games back it is no longer relevant when you win.
Matt (IN)
When I click on your tv schedule....I don't see any rowing.
Ryan (San Diego)
Maybe not all the time, but previous fights there hasn't been reaction of kick him out for the season. A punch like that is nothing more than 3 games...in my mind that is as bad of an offense as the cheap shot the Boise State guy put on the Oregon qb last year
LadyBuzz (CT)
Laying on the couch all weekend?
SteveFitz (Cicero, IL)
Sweet, office closing at 1pm today since we're closed on Monday. That pretty much means I'm out at noon.
Robbi (Clinton Ky)
Maybe they just throw down their oars and start punching each other.
Tom (River North)
THE ONB is like Brett Favre. Never goes away and always disappoints...
Scott (Brewtown)
A fight in Rowing would be great if the boat was in an eel infested lake
stephanie (cincy)
No, Julian it is not because Blount is black. It's because he behaved like a thug
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
This weekend, I'll be in Clinton's fair city visiting the in laws. Indy zoo one day. Should be fun.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Or they start swinging the oars at each other...
Cory (PA)
When I click on your TV schedule...God kills a kitten.
Jonathan (Madtown)
I love fans that talk trash in their slacks and ties and are 40 years old as if a 21 year old football player cant get over a wall and beat you down Artest style. Fans need to know their place.
Buzzmaster (10:33 AM)
There's something about being at a game that can turn fans into morons. I don't condone what Blount did by any means, but what exactly are the fans proving themselves by taunting him? Do they really think they could take him in a fight?
Ed Hochuli (Chat Ref)
Jonathan, I'm older than 40. No one is gonna beat me down. Hit the showers, rookie.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
When I click on your TV schedule...I drink your milkshake! I drink it up!
Brian (Madison, WI)
Did a fan really threaten Blount with a chair?
Buzzmaster (10:34 AM)
From what I saw in the video, Blount started jawing with the fans on the way out. When it started to get nasty and he made a move toward the section, I saw part of a metal folding chair. Don't know if someone was picking it up or moving it. Then the guy he was yelling at did throw his arm as if to punch, but Blount was gone by then.
Fake Clinton (Indianapolis)
When I click on your TV schedule . . . it hurts the hell out of my arthritic fingers.
Mark (HOFCity)
Hitting player - uncalled for. Hitting loudmouth fans = priceless!
Jay (NYC)
I wish to start a petition to fire buzz. I don't like his screening process for posts. Not fun anymore. I think I will change my name to clinton. (shiver down spine)
Chad (Denmark via Vegas)
Has there been any mention of Chelsea not being allowed to sign any players until 2011? Big news here, I am guessing not so big news there.
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
That's what still kills me about the Artest brawl. He beat down the wrong guy. That's probably what would have happened to Blount, too, if he had made it into the stands.
Jason (Ellicott City, MD)
Wow Jonathan. You are assuming too much of a kid and too little of an "adult."
John (Georgia)
Whats for brunch? Barbecue and a Snickers
Louis (Fredericton, NB)
I've always considered taunting opposing players as my place as a fan
Bob (Lowell)
Be right back. Gotta go put some beer aside before Nate gets here.
Jim Ross (WWE)
My Gawd! Blount is going into the stands. All Hell is breaking loose on the Smurf Turf. Noooo! Nooo!!!
Brian (Madison, WI)
I'm going to keep with my theme that bad things happen to people that run their mouths.
Christian (High Point, NC)
Spectators don't think they're really involved in the action. It doesn't occur to them that a player could "break the 4th wall" and attack them. It's not that they think they could take him in a fight, it's they never think a fight could happen. (PS: My meeting was cancelled)
Dalton (Dallas)
Yeah as much as i dislike artest and the pacers, the fans in that fight are a great example of morons messing with behemoths that only concern themselves with fitness for a living. Wrong person to throw your drink at.
Boise St Fan (Boise)
Yeah, I can take Blount with the help of ITG, I'll pound his face in so hard you won't even recognize him
Sean (Philly)
My friends told me about when they were morons at an Eagles game. They were heckling the kicker for missing a kick of the defending Super Bowl champs, after a little while, he turned around, flipped them the bird, and placed his ring on his middle finger. They stopped heckling him after that.
Chad (Denmark via Vegas)
Are you saving beer for Nate or hiding it from him?
Ryan (San Diego)
Chad, thats not that big of a deal, they have the best team in Europe right now
Jordan (Peoria)
Good luck Jay...Maybe if your posts werent THE SUCK Buzz would put them up
Buzzmaster (10:37 AM)
Or if he sent in more than that one. Classic "you won't post my stuff" sent in as the only post chatter.
Jonathan (Madtown)
Buzz it looked at those the two college kids were talking trash and then the old man in the tie yelled a four letter word and then Blount spanned. Blount was in the wrong but you can only push someone so hard when they are already fired up.
Barcelona (Spain)
Ahem, Ryan, we're the Champions League champs. We're the best team in Europe.
Rick (Tampa, FL)
Long time no talk nation and the one and only Buzz, what up all. Buzz you could have gotten a 1st down if you were playing for Oregon in the 1st half right?? And Blount as no right hand either...
Clay (Charlotte)
I'm waiting for them to start including "off-field" problems into Madden and NCAA games. Sorry, your starting RB has been suspended for 6 games due to a domestic dispute.
Buzzmaster (10:38 AM)
"WR out due to court trial, may be reinstated by Week 10."
Jordan (Peoria)
Brian, you mean like Blount did before the game. He ran his mouth, got his bum whopped, and was told so. Doesnt mean he should punch someone
stephanie (cincy)
Fans love to yell "Come up here, I dare you" Well, sometimes they do come up there.
Paul (Ohio)
Two words Louis....GROW UP
Clinton (Indianapolis)
So, has anyone else seen the video of the guys cleaning out an Apple store in 31 seconds? Got off with about $40K of stuff. That's more than $1,000 a second!
Bob (Lowell)
Just trying to make sure there is some left for me.
Brian (Madison, WI)
That would have been unexpected had Blount made it into the stands and then all of a sudden he gets crushed in the skull by a folding chair WWE style.
Mark (HOFCity)
I only whine about my non-posts on my 20th post sent.
Rick (Tampa, FL)
Wow relax Jordan calm down my man it's the weekend and a holiday at that.
Eric (Philly)
I wouldn't mind taking a couple punches from a pro athlete, ate least I could win some money off of him, but getting beat up by a college athlete probably won't get you to much.
Brian (Madison, WI)
Blount talked smack, got whipped. The Boise guy talked smack, got whipped.
jim (columbus)
Growing up is no fun.
Chad (Denmark via Vegas)
NBA player is waiting paternity test results. 2 weeks of stats down by 25 percent.
Brian (Madison, WI)
They've talked about adding off the field problems to the NCAA and Madden games, but the NCAA and NFL won't allow them.
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
That's a great idea, Clay. I'd play that game.
Matt (IN)
We went to St Louis once and we were out in center during pregame, and Smoltz, Glavine and Maddox were jogging on the warning track. The first time around we didn't say anything but when they came back one of my friends said "Glavine your wife's a dyke" there was this brief pause and then Smoltz and Maddox just busted out laughing.
Buzzmaster (10:41 AM)
Did your friend feel big and tough after that?
Tim (ATL)
ok, the idea of non-football suspensions in Madden (and/or college - USC RB suspended due to improper benefits??) is AWESOME!!
Louis (Fredericton, NB)
You're right Paul.... everyone knows getting drunk on the parking lot before a football game is the perfect example of acting like a grown up.
Pete (NC)
Seriously, this generation is the generation of "You can't tease me, offend me, taunt me, call me names or else I'll punch you in the face."
Sean (Philly)
$1,000 a second, that is more than we collectively waste in a second while on the MB.
Christian (High Point, NC)
Why is everyone so feisty today? It's only 5 days until Beatles Rock Band comes out! Peace and Love, everyone!
Tatum Bell (in hiding)
Buzz, I've got a couple of new ipods here if you're interested. I uh, found them.
jim (columbus)
The moral of the story, Buzz, is that it was okay because Smoltz and Maddox started laughing.
Matt (IN)
It was a stupid thing to say, yes, but we laughed at the time.
Chad (Denmark via Vegas)
Madden 2011....Ricky Williams on the cover smoking a blunt. Does he get caught and suspended or doesn't he....It's up to you!
Christian (High Point, NC)
Retired QB can't decide whether or not to come back. All other QBs on roster lose 10% of stats.
Rick (Tampa, FL)
North Carolina VS The Citadel in Chapel Hill @ 6:00 pm Saturday evening, look for yours truly.
John (Georgia)
Taunting players during BP has led to some great conversations. We talked to Lance Cormier for like an hour after beginning with an ice breaker about how he was built like a 13 year old girl
Keith Hernandez (New York)
There was a second spitter!
Jonathan (Madtown)
Blount is lucky it was Boise and not USC, in So Cal they have guns and use them.
George Costanza (NY)
I slept with your WIFE!!
Sean (Philly)
Louis, you can't get legally drunk until you are an adult, so yes you are correct in saying "getting drunk on the parking lot before a football game is the perfect example of acting like a grown up."
Brian (Madison, WI)
Umm I think punching happened a lot more frequently in previous generations. The presence of cameras, the internet, TV coverage, etc. has lowered that a lot I believe.
Marc (Charlotte)
Alumni Basketball Game in Chapel Hill tonight.
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
That would have been classic if Glavine had responded, "My wife's in a coma!"
George Carlin (RIP)
Legally drunk. Well, if it's legal, what's the bleepin' problem? "Leave my friend alone, Officer, he's legally drunk!"
Pete (Canada)
Buzz......i forgot what i was going to say
Louis (Fredericton, NB)
I admit that taunting isn't the most intelligent thing to do, but the whole sports experience is not about acting rationally. I don't think many people thinking rationnally would pay 150$ for a jersey or 10$ for a beer
Jordan (Peoria)
Buzz when I click on your tv schedule...All I get is Matt Damon movies
stephanie (cincy)
Tomorrow is a full day of CFB and me riding the couch. The Buckeyes host Navy and after that, I don't know, it's football and that is enough.
Buzzmaster (10:46 AM)
I like your style.
John (Georgia)
I'd say, in general, trash talking was much more likely to get you decked in the 50s
Chad (Denmark via Vegas)
Pete...You're in Canada you said it yesterday.
Sean (Philly)
NFL - NCAA games, you should have decide how much money to put into scouting/recruiting as well as paying off law enforcement of your bitter rivals.
Christian (High Point, NC)
Fact: Ty Cobb got stabbed in the back before a game while walking the streets of Philly (was there any doubt?). Still played that night.
Jonathan (Madtown)
Hang over Friday!!! Lunch.......a nap!
The Suits (Bristol)
Buzz.......since when do you have time to watch TV, obviously you need more work.
Scott (Brewtown)
Sorts education 101: Fan = Fanatic = not sane
Clay (Charlotte)
Louis, are you really coming on a sports site and talking bad about people who enjoy them. It's called entertainment, it's to take your mind off of how crappy your job/life/family life is. If I want to watch sports, drink beer, and spend MY money on it...it's none of anyone else's business.
Robbi (Clinton Ky)
I'm hungry.
Sean (Philly)
I always meant to take the Sorts class.
Spelling Police (MB Chat)
I must have forgotten to take sorts 101 in college. Here's your ticket.
John (Georgia)
So the best fan bases are the ones who sit there properly and never say a cross word? Not a chance
Buzzmaster (10:48 AM)
Not at all. But there's a line out there and no reason to cross it.
Clay (Charlotte)
Instead of hiring just scouts, you have to hire PR agents in Madden, depending on how much money you spend the suspension goes down.
Jonathan (Madtown)
College Gameday tomorrow!!! Lets start this party now.
Tim (ATL)
friday before a holiday weekend - need to forget about the --- whuppin the ducks took last night. Lunch = GOLF COURSE!!
Sean (Philly)
Why does everyone have parties on Monday? Sunday would make more sense, then you can relax at home before gong back to work. At least that is what I preferred when i had a job.
Christian (High Point, NC)
Update: I read Peanuts 1973-1974 last night. Definitely starting to go downhill, although there was a new layer of seriousness added to the mix.
Marc (Charlotte)
I like to do the crossword.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Fan = fanatic = not sane = main reason I don't attend football games in person anymore.
Rick (Tampa, FL)
How many of the nation thinks St Thomas Aquinas Lauderdale, FL High School can beat a division 1 school in football, hmmmmmm.
Ron Artest (LA)
That guy was nuts! Who would ever do something like that?
Jason (Ellicott City, MD)
Not so fast my friend, Jonathan.
Chad (Denmark via Vegas)
I am upset at ESPN. No 24 straight hours of CFB chat before the season starts this year.
Buzzmaster (10:50 AM)
We only did that the one time.
Rick (Tampa, FL)
10:50 AM ET ( LLLLUUUUNNNNCCCCHHHH )
Robbi (Clinton Ky)
Lunch: Seafood salad, unsweet tea.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Lunch: Hardee's. Got a coupon for free fries and a drink with purchase of a burger. To quote my late grandfather: "Only a sucker pays full price." Yeah, he was notoriously thrifty.
Marc (Charlotte)
Lunch: No idea.
Christian (High Point, NC)
My problem is that I'm a fan of the sport more than I am a fan of a team or a player. So I never scream at the ref if the call is legit, even if against my team. Other fans hate that.
Scott (Brewtown)
Lunch: Turkey sandwich, nutri grain bar and a water
Marc (Charlotte)
Buzz, so I was walking home from the bar last night and ran into about 8 deer. Needless to say, I was startled.
Scott (Brewtown)
Chad, your in Denmark....they're showing 24 straight hours of Futbol over there
Mark (HOFCity)
I am going to be the BIGGEST Navy fan you have ever seen!
Buzzmaster (10:51 AM)
Just don't throw any punches when your team gets whopped this weekend.
Tom (River North)
Lunch: whatever the Pizza Hut buffet in Battle Creek, MI has. I'm on my way back to Ann Arbor for the start of the Tate Forcier era.
Chad (Denmark via Vegas)
To all you people going to a college game this weekend. Do me 1 favor. Take a cab home! Don't drink and drive.
Scott (Indy)
Buzz, one of the bosses came in today at 9:30 and just left for the day. Should I feel bad when I leave at 2pm? And why even bother coming in for and hour?
Buzzmaster (10:52 AM)
No and I have no idea.
stephanie (cincy)
Robbi, why not some sweet and low for that tea?
Drew (Buffalo)
Lunch: could use some suggestions... I'm starving but don't know what I want...
Clay (Charlotte)
Lunch: Fried Shrimp, baked potato, cole slaw
Jason (Crozet)
Hooray beer! College football is back...so glad I waited all year for NC State/South Carolina to open up the season!!
Pete (NC)
Clinton, the local Hardee's back in Chapel Hill had a deal that if you show your school ID, you get free fries and a drink with a Thickburger purchase. Needless to say I was there at least once a week.
Sean (Philly)
Hmmm, Lunch....don't have much around the house for lunch, guess I'll get something at the supermarket when I go there. Maybe a salsalito turkey sammich.
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
Lunch: Vegetarian quiche and zucchini pancakes made by my wife. Outstanding work!
stephanie (cincy)
Mark, what a shock.
Jason (Ellicott City, MD)
buzz where is the fantasy sports focus at 3pm with Pierre!
Buzzmaster (10:53 AM)
Not around any more.
Chad (Denmark via Vegas)
I had REALLY good pizza for lunch. Who knew the Danes could make a decent pizza.
Bob (Seattle)
Lunch: no idea
Clinton (Indianapolis)
I have to cover two desks this afternoon, because people leaving early so they don't go over their 40 hours. Hope it's quiet.
Brian (Madison, WI)
My boss just left for the day and the guy I share an office with just said that he doesn't feel like doing any work. Good day.
Rick (Tampa, FL)
Publix deli sub/foot-long and chips w/sweet tea.
Robbi (Clinton Ky)
Don't like the sweetness,(or the after taste) drink my coffee black too.
Christian (High Point, NC)
Lunch! Uh ... running out to the library and Borders ... maybe ... McDonalds? Smokey Bones if I'm feeling wacky.
John (Georgia)
UK Louisville is next weekend. I hope I remember the game
Matt (IN)
Lunch: Telling jokes with John Smoltz and Greg Maddux.
Pete (NC)
Buzz has no problem covering two desks because, you know, he's fat.
Alex (Littleton, CO)
Was at the Broncos game last night...starting to think that brandstater kid is better than Orton or Simms.
Christian (High Point, NC)
I had a Hawaiian Pizza when I was in Belgium five years ago. They used deli slices of ham.
Alex (Littleton, CO)
Lunch - Prosciutto and Cappicola on italian, pasta salad
Buzzmaster (10:55 AM)
We've got 5 minutes left. Five minutes.
stephanie (cincy)
Renewing my license after work at 12:00, so lunch will be around 3:00 I am guessing
Tom (River North)
It is my understanding that Belgians have the best french fries in the world with multiple dipping sauces.
Tim (ATL)
why would you get a hawaiian pizza in belgium?!?! get Frites in belgium...
jim (columbus)
HOLY CRAP!!! They did not!!! Deli slices? DAMN!
Buzzmaster (10:56 AM)
Why the hostility today?
Sean (Philly)
Deli sliced ham is the way to go. I have a place near me where I get pepperoni and ham, deli ham is so much better than what the other places use.
jim (columbus)
Must be the punch
Tom (West Bloomfield, MI)
Hawaiian pizza = THE SUCK.
Robbi (Clinton Ky)
I am soooo ready for the long weekend.
Drew (Buffalo)
Lunch: havent had pizza in a long time... thing I'll have that, 2 slices and a mountain dew
Clinton (Indianapolis)
I blame LeGarrete Blount. And samson.
Pete (NC)
Lunch: hoot dogs and mac
Chad (Denmark via Vegas)
If I lived in Columbus, OH I would be hostile all the time as well. Ohio St can do that to a fella.
Tom (River North)
I got a Hawaiian pizza in San Diego and they used pork tenderloin.
Christian (High Point, NC)
Trust me I got a ton of frites while there too (seriously, why the heck don't we have Friteurs/Snack Vans in the US outside the Rutgers campus?)
Brian (Madison, WI)
People aer a little fired up on a Friday before a long weekend.
fred (omaha)
tom that doesnt seem like outstanding work! this time, i think i will go somewhere else for lunch
Tom (River North)
I blame NYC. Nothing but hostility comes from that place.
Anthony (NY)
Lunch: White Castle again, but this time only mozzarella sticks
jim (columbus)
I live in Columbus, Georgia but good call on the Buckeyes
Christian (High Point, NC)
Fact: I was in Belgium for longer than one meal
Marc (Charlotte)
Buzz, no 2:00 chat?
Buzzmaster (10:58 AM)
Hit refresh.
stephanie (cincy)
I do recommend the Angus Burger from McDonalds.
Rick (Tampa, FL)
Have a great holiday weekend nation and Buzz, please nation if ur going to drink adult beverages this weekend get a cab or a designated driver, good day to all...
Mike (Belvidere, IL)
I just got to the chat and the first thing I see is someone insulting Hawaiian pizza. Ridiculous.
Pizza (USA)
Don't put fruit on me you sick people.
Marc (Charlotte)
A guy on the UNC message board posted his Rutgers preview. He said Rutgers was the third best team in the nation. It made me laugh.
Clay (Charlotte)
Maybe we can get our hosility out now, so when we pull a Nate and Brian, we won't pull a Blount.
Cory (PA)
Sub from local pizza place: The gizmo, cheeseburger sub with deli ham off the griddle. I add bacon cuz I'm a man who likes me some cholesterol.
Sean (Philly)
Everyone have a safe and fun weekend. Peace and Love, Peace and Love.
Matt (IN)
Everyone have a safe weekend, enjoy Monday off if you get it. And if you happen to see LeGarrette Blount, don't mouth off.
