Buzzmaster (10:00 AM)
Gooooooooooood morning!
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Good morning, people! Hope everyone had a good weekend.
Steve (NJ)
GOOOOOOOD Morning SportsNation! What a Sunday! What a Sunday! Kris Jenkins gets the 'quote of the week' after calling Rex Ryan's pregame speeches a PED. Spent most of Sunday afternoon at Mickey Mantle's with a buddy in from Houston. We got 2 free rounds after they forgot to bring us our pigs-n-blankets and hot wings. Almost bought a Kevin Maas-signed baseball as a gag gift for a friend of mine - $50.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Good morning, Buzz Nation. Hope everyone enjoyed Week 1 of the MB FFL.
Ryan (San Diego)
Can I just get this in? Cutler....hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Kanye West (Out of Nowhere)
Buzz I'm gonna let you finish but I have to say that the Pulse chat was the best chat ever!
Neal (Philly)
Morning Buzz. How many Kanye West posts will be sent in interrupting you?
Don (San Francisco)
Good morning Buzz. I thought he was pretty clutch against ND, but I didn't expect to hear Joe Montana being invoked when they talk about Tate Forcier.
Steve (NJ)
Can I just get this in - McNabb goes down, Vick can't play until Week 3!
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Alma mater lost, Colts won, and I won a little bit of money at the casino on Saturday night. I'll call it a thumbs-up weekend.
Matt (IN)
Good morning everyone. Roger Federer...wow.
Buzzmaster (10:03 AM)
Can we stop calling Rafael Nadal as being on the same level as Federer? While Nadal was busy getting beat in straight sets, Federer was busy winning in straight sets to get to his 17th Grand Slam final out of the last 18 finals.
Serena Williams (US Open)
Buzz, I'm going to take this tennis ball and shove it down your throat.
Buzzmaster (10:04 AM)
Good. Then you can lose yet another match. I've seen a lot of things in my life, but that was one of the dumbest.
Pete (NC)
TMB is so much easier when celebs give us ammo. Thanks Kayne, Jake Delhomme, Jay Cutler, tOSU, Charlie Weis, etc etc etc
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
As fun as it was watching Cutler implode last night, I have to figure he's going to do much better as the year progresses.
Scott (Brewtown)
Good Morning! Looks like the NFC north is ....well....still ugly football
Vicki (Indiana)
Wow what a football weekend!
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Bad weekend for Ohio football teams. The Bungals allowing an 87-yard TD pass from 'Orton Hears a Boo,' and AP takes the first half off and STILL puts up 180 yards and three TDs. I won't even talk about OSU letting a freshman go 90 yards on them for a TD...oh wait, I just did.
Godish (Chicago)
Time to dust off the old Grossman jersey.
Clay (Charlotte)
Why do people find it nessisary to sing Happy Birthday on your voice mail? Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the gesture, but just say Happy Birthday...I don't need to hear your crappy singing.
Buzzmaster (10:05 AM)
Bah humbug to you too, sir.
Christian (High Point, NC)
The best part of the Serena Williams incident will be the torturous defenses of her by certain scribes.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Agreed, Buzz. It was match point! Match freaking point! How do you do that on match point?
Pete (NC)
Oh and Serena Williams, how could I forget that?
John McEnroe (Amex Commercial)
Wait, what's wrong with yelling at the umpire?
Buzzmaster (10:06 AM)
For some reason, you yelling at an umpire was kinda funny. Granted, that's probably because you didn't threaten bodily harm.
Nate (Madison)
Jordan's speech at the HOF was pure awesomeness.
Buzzmaster (10:07 AM)
I agree. Yet there are all these whiny people saying how he was being petty or getting on him for it. I thought it was great.
Rex Grossman (Houston)
Hmmm, which job do I want? The Texans job or back to Chicago?
Ryan (San Diego)
USC USC USC....tonight Chargers Chargers Chargers.
Brian (Madison, WI)
Watching Wisco barely beat Fresno St. was not all that exciting, but a win is a win I guess. Anytime the Pack can take out the Bears and embarass their supposed savior I will say this weekend was a success.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
So they switched over to the Bengals-Broncos game after the Colts game ended. I saw Stokely grab that ball, and I actually said out loud, "you've gotta be #*!@ing kidding me," even though there was no one around.
Trevor (Texas)
Larry Fitzgerald may want to sit out this year...the Madden cover curse looms again.
Clay (Charlotte)
Nate, I totally agree, only MJ could get away with cussing during an induction speech and get away with it.
Pete (NC)
After only one game, you would never believe the attitude in Charlotte. EVERYONE is calling for Delhomme's head.
Vicki (Indiana)
I love what Jordan said at the end about limits.
Steve (NJ)
Ohandbytheway - Derek Jeter was all class after taking the crown from Gehrig.
Steve (NJ)
I particularly enjoyed him mentioning how he didn't see the 'team' playing with a broken ankle.
Greg (Ellicott City)
This may have been the greatest sports/celeb weekend ever.
Michael Jordan (Hall of Fame)
Buzz, I shocked the *edit* out of you, didn't I?
Buzzmaster (10:09 AM)
All I have to say is good thing the induction was on cable and not over the air channels or else people would be up in arms. I'm surprised more aren't.
Christian (High Point, NC)
Pete (NC) is conveniently forgetting the playoff game. So that's two games.
Scott (Brewtown)
The best part about the Pack beating the Bears is living close enough to listen to Chicago sports fans snivel and @#$%@ about it all day!
Trevor (Texas)
I also love how everyone is crowning Matt Barkley as the greatest QB of all time. The guy had 2 passes on the last drive, one a swing pass to McKnight. Not all that spectacular. Ohio St. gave that game away.
Louis (Fredericton, NB)
Call me whiny all you want, but using a HOF sppech to settle scores is petty. There was good part in that speech, but the guy is unanimously known as the best player ever. Stop settling scores
Buzzmaster (10:10 AM)
I don't think he was settling scores. I think those were settled a long time ago when he beat the heck out of everyone on the court.
Nate (Madison)
Barkley did nothing great that game. OSU lost it, USC didn't win it.
Brandon (IL)
HOW BOUT THEM 9ERS!!!
Nate (Madison)
Jonathan from Madison is one of those haters. Claiming Jordan's speech was wrong, cocky, and that Sloan/Stockton looked pissed. I of course, disagree.
Don (San Francisco)
By the way - we held our very-late football draft on ESPN. It was an auction style, the first for everyone. It was awesome - much more fun than snake style. Good work, ESPN.
Brian (Madison, WI)
I just have to say the best part about the Bengals-Broncos ending was me realizing how much I missed Gus Johnson in my life. It's been a good 6 months without him. He makes every sports moment better.
John (Lexington)
Two complaints....I had both RBs in fantasy for the Sunday Night game and they sunk my chances of winning this week.Secondly, not really a complaint but a sad realization, the NFL causes me to have to stay up all night reading the cases I should have been reading during the games. Still worth it though
Nate (Madison)
I love how he mentioned Isiah, with it being well known that Isiah was against him in the start of his career and Jordan was the reason Isiah wasn't on the Dream Team.
Neal (Philly)
At least my date ended early enough that I got to watch the second half of OSU/USC.
Christian (High Point, NC)
Not only are the Panthers boned because Delhomme just signed a new contract, they traded their #1 pick in 2010 (which is looking like a top 6 right about now). I hope Bill Cowher can work some miracles because otherwise the next few years are going to be painful ones down in Charlotte.
Fake JB (Texas)
Jordan had the most overrated induction speech of all time
Nate (Madison)
No lie, I got a date postponed until this Saturday because I wanted to watch Michigan/ND and OSU/USC.
Jimbo (Brooklyn)
Welcome to Mark Sanchez and Bart Scott! I look forward to watching them play great for the first 10 weeks or so.
Jason (Ellicott City, MD)
Jordan is such a bad person that it's hard to root for him.
Clay (Charlotte)
Well the Panthers can franchise Pep again, and get at least a 1 and a 2 pick for him...so...yeah, there's that.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
WAL MART DEPRESSES ME. I'm my usual chipper self and they are all droll and BORING and old and sad and STUFF!
JB (TX)
Didn't watch the speech, wasn't surprised when I heard about it.
Christian (High Point, NC)
As an OSU fan, I do give props to Barkley for maintaining his composure on that final drive. Twice he faced 3rd-and-9 and did what needed to be done. The blame rests on the defense (who frankly were probably exhausted at that point), but you have to respect the fact that many other "rookie" QBs would've folded in that situation but Barkley didn't.
Ron (Ohio)
who really cares about the hof speech except the people there. he has his fame, billions of dollars and groupies. move on
Trevor (Texas)
Oh and Terrelle Pryor will not win a Heisman, sorry Ohio.
Nate (Madison)
Stokley went all Tecmo Bowl on Dem Bengals by running down the goalline
Buzzmaster (10:15 AM)
That was funny. I was expecting him to run back to the other endzone, then run back for the TD, just to waste the clock.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
I missed all the speeches, too. Apparently I missed something big.
Jack (NB Canada)
Buzz did you take IV at your softball game and then hit 2 homers out?
Buzzmaster (10:16 AM)
No. No softball. The season's over. However, I am happy to report that after a 10-2 loss in the first game, LadyBuzz's kickball team tied 5-5 yesterday. LadyBuzz went 1-1 with a sac "bunt." Her single helped prolong the game in the fifth (last inning) with the team down 5-3.
Nate (Madison)
Think Pryor regrets not picking Michigan and their spread option?
Trevor (Texas)
This week can't end fast enough. College Gameday in Austin on Saturday...come on Friday.
Rickey Henderson (HoF)
Who is MJ? Rickey is the greatest of all time!
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Can I just testify that the word gobbledygook is hilarious?
Steve (NJ)
Christian, now the the world's oldest woman has died, who do you go to for your 'remember 1895?' conversations?
JB (TX)
I can't believe Ryan hasn't mentioned San Diego's own Tate Forcier this morning.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
A tie? Time constraints?
Buzzmaster (10:18 AM)
They play five innings or one hour, whichever comes first.
Matt Damon (Buzz's House)
Lady Buzz is clutch. I taught her that.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I was going to watch BB last night for a bit but found out it was a clip show, which was good because then I got to watch Cutler suck it up uninterrupted.
Christian (High Point, NC)
Nate: Let's wait until Michigan beats a team that isn't perennially overhyped before we start crowning Rich Rod, hrm?
OJ Simpson (Prison)
Brendan, you never testify man!
Fake Buzz (Here)
Prolonged game = more time for me to hit the concession stand!
Jack (NB Canada)
Forcier was home-schooled so he could practice football more. Allan Iverson would not approve.
Don (San Francisco)
Was Rich Rod already at Michigan when Pryor was being recruited? Anyway, I think their guy had a much better day than Barkley. He carried that offense on his Flutie-like shoulders.
Vicki (Indiana)
I bet the Bears are regretting that trade now
Brian (Madison, WI)
I have to say that Terrelle Pryor needs to run more and not force as many passes. I have to wonder if its because of how much Tebow gets criticized about how his game translates to the NFL
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
What's the over/under on weeks before Cutler cries that he wants out of Chicago?
Buzzmaster (10:21 AM)
Not going to happen. Relax people.
Ryan (San Diego)
Tate Forcier is only good because he comes from San Diego. But I'm a USC fan so I wasnt that happy really
Stephanie (Cincy)
I am in no mood today to talk college football.
Pete (NC)
So Buzz, is Simmons chatting only during the Pats game or during both games?
Buzzmaster (10:21 AM)
I believe during the Pats game. But if you beg him enough during his chat, who knows.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Steph: The best QB in the Big Ten plays in Happy Valley.
stephanie (cincy)
Tressel needs to LET Terrelle Pryor run. Terrible play calling by JT
Tate Forcier (Ann Arbor, MI)
This is my first chat, Buzz, but I'm not nervous, in fact, I never ever get nervous
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
I think Cutler is fine in Chicago. Think about it: They held the pack to low points, but lost in a td at the end. Bears are fine, Cutler is fine. Once he realizes he's not in Denver anymore the Bears will be okay.
Neal (Philly)
Congrats to Washington for finally winning a game, even if it is Idaho.
Clay (Charlotte)
J.B. it's probably more than the over/under for weeks until TO starts screaming about the crappy offense in Buffalo
Buzzmaster (10:23 AM)
Yeah, I'd be more worried about that.
Brian (Madison, WI)
Anyone ever played co-ed softball before? Nate and I start a league tonight and are a little nervous that the co-ed part is going to be the suck.
Buzzmaster (10:24 AM)
Relax fellas. It's softball. You're not playing in the pros.
John (Lexington)
I am so sick of Joseph Addai and his dancing in the backfield only to lose a yard
Trevor (Texas)
The whole "I've been preparing for this my whole life" quote is ridiculous.
Jack (NB Canada)
How many TD's for Brady tonight Buzz?
Buzzmaster (10:25 AM)
3.
Rex Grossman (Chicago)
If nothing is open, I am chucking it downfield.
Trevor (Texas)
I liked Forcier's interview after the game. "I've been preparing for this my whole life"...really? So when you were born, you started thinking about playing QB for Michigan and beating Notre Dame?
Clinton (Indianapolis)
nervous about the co-ed part = afraid the women aren't going to be attractive.
Clay (Charlotte)
I must give props to Zorn for the fake field goal for a TD while they were down by 20. At least they tried.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Holy Moly guys! It's MNF CHAT AMIRIGHT? PUNTATHON PLZ.
Mike Singletary (San Fran)
Buzz, open the ONB now or I will be forced to drop my pants in disgust.
JB (TX)
ONB?
Buzzmaster (10:26 AM)
Let's do it.....
Serena Williams (NY)
Buzz, I'm going to take this ball and shove it down your #*$)ing throat!
Vince (Great Meadows NJ)
I have a new found respect for Chris Carter. I enjoyed listening to him on the mike and mike show today.
Rich (Douglas AK)
ESPN BOSTON? Why do that, now there will be two of them.
Rich Rod (Ann Arbor)
People who think I can't coach need to get lives.
dame cleve oh [via mobile]
Buzzmaster after the first sunday in the nfl who to look the most exolosive?
Andy Reid (Philadelphia)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!! *inhale* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!
Jesse (BB Jury House)
Hey, Buzz? Could you send me a shirt or two? It seems I've ripped off every shirt I brought with me and now I don't have one for finale night. Thanks.
Buzz (Chatter/Moderators HOF)
I would like to thank jumerms, Rastall, Hurrican Jeff, and all the other losers who annoyed me. Your drivel just drove me to show how much better I am than all of you. I used that to be the best moderator ever. I did it all by myself. You all tried to screw me so I just had to show you. I win! I win! I am in the hall! I am number 1!
Michael Jordan (Springfield, MA)
Everyone slighted me my whole life. I am the only reason I have ever succeeded. I had to show everyone. I am better than you. I was always better than you.
Michael Jordan (Springfield, MA)
... I also remember that time some fat guy named Buzz stole my hamburger and fries. I decided right then and there I would show him who he just messed with and signed a deal with McDonalds...
Buzzmaster (10:26 AM)
And that's it....
Christian (High Point, NC)
It's not that far from the truth, Trevor. I've been training my toddler to beat Notre Dame, he's got some nimble toes so I'm thinking RB.
Jay (NYC 8-7)
You're slacking buzz
Nate (Madison)
Clinton....that is one concern.
Brian (Madison, WI)
Buzz you've obviously never seen us play softball. *sarcasm*
tom* (parkville, md)
I'm so happy! My Lions lost to the Saints by only 18 points! Maybe we can hold the Vikings to a two touchdown victory! Go Lions!
Christian (High Point, NC)
Brian's worried about the co-ed part? Is he afraid of cooties or something?
Steve (NJ)
Loved the Andy Reid post.
Nate (Madison)
I loved Jordan calling out Jerry Krause.
Clay (Charlotte)
Nate, Brian, just remember not to hit on the girls while they have a bat in their hand.
Neal (Philly)
You're softball league is starting tonight? Isn't it snowing in Wisconsin now?
Nate (Madison)
I'm more worried its going to be people not playing hard, taking it easy because of the girls, etc. Just being lame, I want to win.
Buzzmaster (10:29 AM)
Again, I say...it's softball.
Clay (Charlotte)
Yeah, I was all over the 10.5 point spread on the NO/Det game...I mean if gambling was legal.
Matt (IN)
I'll try again because my post might've gotten lost in the ONB shuffle. Coed softball is a lot of fun if you're playing with girls who can actually play. If they suck, it will drive you crazy.
Buzzmaster (10:29 AM)
What about dudes that can't play?
Neal (Philly)
Brian's afraid the girls are better than him.
John (Lexington)
It was great seeing Drew Brees throw 6 TDs and all, but the Saints looked terrible. That game should have been over in the first quarter
Clinton (Indianapolis)
So, Nate's that guy who tries to break up double plays in a rec league. We all HATE that guy.
Brett Favre (Undefeated)
Almost halfway through the chat and no mention of me? I look pretty good as a game manager.
Trevor (Texas)
I play in a flag football league and I always find it humorous when you see "those guys" who act like they are playing in the NFL. I'm not tearing my knee ligaments to win a meaningless flag football game.
Serena Williams (US Open)
I'm going to take a football and shove it down the throat of the person that sent in the Favre post.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Just kidding, Nate. Try not to take it too serious, though. Just have fun with it.
Matt (IN)
It will drive you to about the same level of craziness that playing with guys who can't play do. Is that better, Buzz?
Greg (Ellicott City)
How hard is it to hand off to AP and let him do all the work?
Buzzmaster (10:31 AM)
I don't know Grason, you tell me, Jareg.
tom* (parkville, md)
Sorry, Bret. When it comes to handing the ball off to the best running back in the NFL, you're no Scott Mitchell.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Brett: Starts with a Shut ends with a up. You know what I'm talking about
Jay Cutler (Chicago)
Was it a bad thing talking pre game with Jake Delhomme.?
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I know in some co-ed leagues if a guy walks and there is a woman batting behind him, she automatically walks too. I don't really care for that because everyone should be seen as equal.
Christian (High Point, NC)
If you're not getting paid, there's no reason to care whether you win or lose. (He says, still griping about finishing 2nd in his bowling league back when he was 11 ... freakin' handicap)
Nate (Madison)
I almost got laid out by a guy trying to decleat me on a blindside block in flag football last year. Lucky for me I noticed him just in time. I hate those "hardcore" guys that think scouts are in the crowd.
Steve (NJ)
Prediction - Brian goes 0-4 with a K.
Louis (Fredericton, NB)
Game manager = not throwing INT
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Trevor just reminded me of the 'Real Men of Genius' commercial with the overly aggressive touch football player guy.
Don (San Francisco)
I think Adrian Peterson just stiff-armed another Cleveland Brown.
Scott (Brewtown)
I was sickened by the picture from Lambeau of the 3 people, side by side wearing the 3 jerseys of Favre. It's the Packers Bears people Favre was nowhere to be found!!!!
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Grason backwards is Nosarg
Buzzmaster (10:34 AM)
I first read that as "Nos-rag" - nose rag - and thought it appropriate.
Scott (Brewtown)
Prediction: Brian gets drilled in the melon because he's too distracted by the good looking women....on the other team.
Greg (Ellicott City)
Buzz, can you have ladybuzz tell Matt Damon that I cant wait to see his new movie?
Nate (Madison)
Saturday was typical gameday, 12 hours of drinking....fun times. In other news, the sky is blue.
Leslie Nielsen (Airplane)
At this time in the chat I'd just like to say to you Buzz, good luck, we're all counting on you
Trent Dilfer (ESPN)
What's wrong with being a game manager?
Buzzmaster (10:36 AM)
Won him a Super Bowl. Now Trent's doing a great job as an NFL analyst.
Drew (Buffalo)
How much is too much to pay one of your roommates to do your laundry for you?
Buzzmaster (10:36 AM)
5 bucks a load.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Today was a bad day to quit sniffing glue.
Ryan (San Diego)
Scott, come down to earth. Good looking women are here in sunny california
Steve (NJ)
Don't pay more than $.035 per pound.
Eli (NY)
yeh whats wrong with being a game manager. Can I get Plax back? Please
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Matthew Stafford's debut with the Lions wasn't exactly stellar either.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Can we please not have the "my town has better looking women than your town" argument, please?
Christian (High Point, NC)
Favre doesn't have the personality for a game manager. Once they face a team that actually has enough talent to defend against the run, it's all over.
Trevor (Texas)
Today we salute you Mr. Overly Competitive Touch Football Player. A little friendly competition never hurt anybody, unless that anybody happens to be the person your covering. BRING THE PAIN!
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Trent predicted the Niners would beat the Fins last year. And was wrong. I DEMAND PERFECTION DILFER!!!!!!
Don (San Francisco)
What I'd be more worried about playing softball is pulling a muscle trying to swing like Vlad Guerrero on every pitch.
Brian (Madison, WI)
I'm actually getting my first taste of flag football on Wednesday night too.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
The Real Men of Genius commercials are some of the best ever.
Nate (Madison)
It's about time to start going to apple orchards. That means one thing. Homemade apple cider, the alcoholic variety of course.
Buzzmaster (10:39 AM)
You make your own hard cider? Nice.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Unresolved anger from being cut from the football team 17 years ago? You bet. "I STILL HAVE ISSUES!"
alan (nyc)
i did just that. pull a muscle in my forearm swinging like vladdy. on the DL for 2-4 weeks.
Vicki (Indiana)
send me some, Nate
Trevor (Texas)
You leave it all on the field: your blood, your sweat, you dignity. DIGNITY IS OVERRATED!
Nate (Madison)
No, but will buy homemade cider from the orchard then add the booze myself. But my aunts and mom make homemade stuff so I guess I could go that route too.
Buzzmaster (10:41 AM)
Good call.
Al Michaels (Booth)
Alan is in the lockerroom fighting a forearm.
Greg (Ellicott City)
I bunt in softball. Anything to get on. Its all about the W.
Ed Hochuli (Chat Ref)
Calling the Jets and Texans game yesterday I was tempted to rip off my shirt so that Sanchez could see what a real man looks like.
Buzzmaster (10:41 AM)
I saw that. Good job Ed.
Daniel (Fort lauderdale)
Wow I cant beleive I botherd to get on here so you guys could talk apple cider
Buzzmaster (10:42 AM)
Would you prefer us to talk about hard lemonade?
Scott (Brewtown)
Apparently two weeks ago should have been apple picking time in my neighbors yard. Now they lay all over his yard, rotting and stinking up the entire neighborhood, not to mention attracting bees by the millions
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Whoa, when did they cancel Murder She Wrote?
Christian (High Point, NC)
That's why I say when life gives you rotten apples, make honey.
Daniel (Fort lauderdale)
I thought this was sports talk , goodbye
Nate (Madison)
Sorry Daniel, how might we fix this chat to fit your needs?
Steve (NJ)
Bothered? Was it so difficult to click a link? We're not exactly an exclusive club, dudechiefsonmanbrokid.
Neal (Philly)
Don't knock apple cider. It's a great drink, alcoholic or non-alcoholic.
Christian (High Point, NC)
Ok, I want some advice for training for next year. I have three targets: a (bicycle) century in my area (I've done one before on the coast, but there are hills here), a marathon, or one of the Susan Komen 3-day 60 miles walk. Ignoring the fact that 2 of the 3 would be charity-oriented (since would substitute a different charity elsewhere), which of the 3 is a more impressive and/or obtainable feat?
Buzzmaster (10:44 AM)
Most impressive - marathon. Most attainable? Probably the walk.
tom* (parkville, md)
The big fan above my head just went off. The big fan above my head has never gone off before.
Buzzmaster (10:44 AM)
Run for it!
Drew (Buffalo)
Apple cider is amazing.
Steve (NJ)
(knows Buzz only posted that for the dudechiefsonmanbrokid)
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Doesn't the E in ESPN stand for Entertainment?
Cory (PA)
I hate joining the chat too late to get in the flow.
JB (TX)
I was actually at that Jets/Texans game yesterday. Thank God I'm not a Texan fan. Both me and the guy next to me had Leon Washington on our fantasy teams.
Vicki (Indiana)
my parents have an apple tree in their front yard but 98% of the apples end up going to waste.
Nate (Madison)
Do them all you wimp. Ok, I'm kidding.....my thoughts second those of Buzz's comment.
Steve (NJ)
Do the century - it's the easiest.
Internet Whiny Guy (Everywhere)
Buzz, I still can't believe you're still no talking about sports. It's like you're not listening to me
Matt (IN)
Marathon easily the most impressive. I've ridden 100 miles on a bike before. It's overrated. I could never do a marathon.
Vicki (Indiana)
that's what I thought Brendan
Rich Rod (Ann Arbor)
If he's really from Ft. Lauderdale, perhaps he would like to talk about the Marlins and their spectacular home attendance?
Buzzmaster (10:45 AM)
It's ratings, not attendance!
Greg (Ellicott City)
Who is this Grason you always reference?
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Should I be worried about a NFL lockout next year? Circle Yes or No.
stephanie (cincy)
Real fans attend the games
Trevor (Texas)
I've been playing racquetball like a mad man. I never realized how much fun that game is.
Whiny Sports Fan (Everywhere)
I can't believe you guys aren't talking about sports? This is a sports chat? I'm posting about sports but you're restricting my freedom of speech? I'm out of here, I guess I'm not cool enough to be in your little club.
Greg (Ellicott City)
Serena is part owner of the dolphins now? Talk about an owner you dont want to piss off.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
The Morning BuzzOur resident chat host, Buzzmaster, hosts a daily chat from 10-11 a.m. ET to help ease SportsNation into its day. Chances are we'll hit on any and all important topics, such as food, TV shows, pop culture and, yes, even sports
Vicki (Indiana)
*circling yes*
Neal (Philly)
I never thought I'd ask for ITG. He needs to kick the crap out of Internet Whiner Guy.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Steph: You can be a real fan and not attend a game. Some real fans can't afford to go to the games. Tell me the corporate people who own luxury boxes are real fans. Many of them couldn't tell home plate from a dinner plate.
Buzzmaster (10:50 AM)
Especially now since they make these trendy dinner plates with angles instead of them being circles. That makes it even harder.
Internet Tough Guy (Cyberspace)
I don't often show my softer side, but I heard Neal's call. IWG you need to shut your whiner rear end up before I kick the crap out of you.
Christian (High Point, NC)
Lunch chat! I think I'll be digging into my stash of pepperoni pizza lean pockets today.
Cory (PA)
Lunch: Shamefully eating at McDonalds solely to get a Coke glass. Good thing the Angus burgers aren't entirely horrible.
Buzzmaster (10:51 AM)
I've been brownbagging it lately, but didn't feel like making a lunch this morning. Going to be going out myself. We'll see how that goes.
JB (TX)
I like they way food is listed first in the topics. It's listed that way because Buzz is fat.
Scott (Brewtown)
Lunch: Chicken sandwich, chips and a bottle of h2o
Clay (Charlotte)
J.B., I've sat in a box suite (which is awesome by the way) but you don't sit in a box to watch the game. You sit in the box to schmoze and drink free alcohol.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Lunch: Sandwich, chips, and a soda.
Brian (Madison, WI)
Lunch: Sandwich and chips.
Steve (NJ)
I refuse to see a game at the Meadowlands after October - it's too damn cold, you have to park 3 towns away and get bussed in, and the beer costs too much
stephanie (cincy)
Lunch: Lean Cuisine to offset the nacho's, pizza and beer consumed on Sat.
Matt (IN)
Lunch will be at Subway. It's close to the office.
Buzzmaster (10:52 AM)
I'm leaning that way too.
Godish (about to jump off ledge)
Chicago Tribune is saying Urlacher is likely out for the season. I'm gonna jump.
Sean (Philly)
Anyone want to hear about my fantasy teams? How about the bad beat I had n Poker? No, then I guess I will have a sammich and soup for lunch.
Louis (Fredericton, NB)
lunch chat: leftover seafood chowder. That's one leftover I can do with
tom* (parkville, md)
Lunch = Likely the local salad bar.
Clay (Charlotte)
Lunch: I think my boss is taking me out for my birthday...course he'll probably make me pay.
Vicki (Indiana)
drinking pomegranate green tea during my class today
Pete (NC)
Christian, that's really odd because I'm also having pepperoni lean pockets.
Jeff (Iowa)
Read through the posts and I have one question. When mentioning apple cider, it is a known fact that doritos go great with cider.
JB (TX)
Home plate or dinner plate Buzz will eat off of it, because he's fat.
Nate (Madison)
Lunch: Leftover stuffed shells. Love going back home for a couple hours on the weekend and coming back with a ton of mom's leftovers.
Greg (Ellicott City)
Lunch chat: $5 footlong.
Jonathan (Madtown)
Lunch: Jay Cutler Kool Aid
fred (omaha)
i wonder what tom from west bloomfield is having, i'm hungry
Line Judge (US Open)
Lunch: *gulp*... a tennis ball? Right, Ms. Wiliams?
Greg (Ellicott City)
DONT DRINK THE PUNCH.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Lunch will be whatever I can find in the vending machines as I am skipping a formal lunch due to some after work commitments.
Steve (NJ)
Chicken souvlaki in a pita. a water
Trevor (Texas)
I have no idea what I want for lunch...Subway possibly.
Christian (High Point, NC)
I once sat in the 406 Club at Fenway. Pedro pitching against the Orioles. Fantastic game, but absolutely sucked being in there.
Alex (Littleton, CO)
Way late today. Lunch = cheese steak and a tasty cake
Brian (Madison, WI)
Urlacher's out for the year? I love when bad things happen to Da Bears. Next up: Looking at you Mr. Favre.
Caveman (Restaurant)
I'll be having the roasted duck with the mango salsa.
Ron Burgundy (San Diego, CA)
Lunch: Milk on a hot day.
Jason (Ellicott City, MD)
Lunch chat: Tuna with coleslaw
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Excellent response to the home plate comment, Buzz. Made me laugh.
Tom (pa)
Hey christian i sat in my season ticket seat watching pedro last night. and the view was awesome.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Who you got tonight, Buzz? Pats and Chargers?
Buzzmaster (10:56 AM)
I would say those are two safe bets.
Brett Favre (via mobile)
I am looking back at you Brian...and I see no future. Not unless you buy some Wranglers.
Trevor (Texas)
I hope Urlacher isn't out for the year. Not a Bears fan, but I'm a huge Urlacher fan.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Clay: I've had several opportunities to sit in the suites and yes, there are some great perks even if you don't drink (like me). However, when I'm the only guy in the box who sees that a pass that gains 25 yards is bad because had the QB hit the WR in stride instead of making him go to the turf to make the grab, I know I am among those who don't care about the game and to me, that takes the fun out of it.
JB (TX)
Lunch: $5 footloooong. Anyway, Kanye may be legally insane, but how did Beyonce in a leotard not win??? Come on now...
Buzzmaster (10:58 AM)
Kanye may be crazy, but how does Beyonce lose Best Female Video but win Video of the Year?
Clay (Charlotte)
Sitting at the bar Sunday was fun because the Dallas fans were talking smack and my response was "That's great guys, so how long has it been since you won a playoff game?"
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Nice chat to start the week, Buzz Nation. Look forward to recapping Week 1 of the MB FFL tomorrow. Have a great day and enjoy the games tonight. Later.
Alex (Littleton, CO)
Urlacher is a stud, but losing him isn't like losing him 5 years ago.
Christian (High Point, NC)
I just realized the Pedro-Orioles game was a decade ago. I'm feeling very Clintonish all of the sudden.
Drew (Buffalo)
yesterday while wathing the games, my friends and I looked up the most lopsided victory in NFL history because we are worried the Patriots will set the new record tonight....
Clinton (Indianapolis)
Why does MTV still have categories for videos? Everybody knows they don't play them anymore.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Because it is MTV Buzz.
Nate (Madison)
VMA's are crappy anyways, who cares. Doesn't reward good music, it's a popular vote and based on the persons video not song...for the most part.
Ryan (San Diego)
MTV set up the whole Kanye thing, look how many people are talking about it today. They are going to get so much cash from advertising and tv viewers on the replay now
Clay (Charlotte)
Alright SN, everybody have a great Monday, be safe and we'll see you tomorrow. Peace...and Happy Birthday to me.
Buzzmaster (11:00 AM)
All right everyone. Thanks for starting the week off strong. We'll be back again tomorrow. Until then, stay classy SportsNation!
Don (San Francisco)
Have a good rest of the day Buzz. And I hope you don't get replaced by a rookie ESPN employee anytime soon.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
73-0 isn't it? Bears over Redskins?
JB (TX)
I've only been in a suite once, at Petco Park for a Padres/Royals interleague game. And trust me, the only way you'd want to see Padres/Royals is from a suite w/free liquor.
Matt (IN)
My kids love the old Weird Al videos.
Drew (Buffalo)
Lunch: No idea..... perhaps Arbys?
Drew (Buffalo)
By the way, it was 73-0. I think the Pats have a legit chance to break it. Have a good monday everyone
Pete (NC)
ESPN>VH1>MTV>>WNBA>........................................>IRS
Trevor (Texas)
Good day to all. Monday Night Football is finally back...Monday's aren't so bad anymore.
Clinton (Indianapolis)
