Pennacchio is a member of the professional gaming team, Status Quo. "Totz" is one of the youngest MLG pros and his squad has been a consistent staple in MLG's pro ranks this season with their stellar play. Totz is here!
Justin (OKlahoma)
What type of mindset do you have entering each tournament? and what do you see yourself doing in 5 years?
Totz (3:58 PM)
I kinda have that cocky/confidence where you go into the tournament thinking that no one can touch you so that when you play against the bigger names, you aren't thinking about it.
Wade H. (Ohio)
If you had to pick your favorite Halo game which would it be Halo 1, Halo 2, or Halo 3?
Totz (3:59 PM)
I would have to say Halo 3. I wasn't a big Halo 2 player, I actually never played it. Halo 1 was around when I was 8, 9, 10 and I didn't really know what I was doing. I could shoot the pistol a little bit.
Will (Orlando)
Do you like tater tots?
Totz (4:00 PM)
No, my brother's name is JoeFries, still is. He made up the name BabyTotz and I just took off the Baby part and now it's just Totz.
aaron (nj)
what do your friends and classmates think about you being a pro at halo 3? good luck in cal
Totz (4:01 PM)
I actually am taking a little break from high school right now, because I am trying to game a lot. My classmates all know that I am doing it. They all think it's cool. They don't really get the concept but I try to fill them in on it and how cool the events are. They all think it's pretty sick.
Ian (IL)
What did you do to go MLG pro, and what would you suggest to those trying to get their name out there?
Totz (4:03 PM)
I started off going to Meadowlands '08, which was my first tournament. We did very poorly. We were out in the second round. My goal was to become a pro. I started playing with Flamesword because my brother played with him in Halo 2. We played a lot. They started teaching me things. They dropped Prolific for me and we went to Toronto '08 and we placed 12. All of those who are not pros, I would suggest just going at it. I would suggest also getting lessons. If you can get lessons from a top player and go from there.
AlexQc (Montreal)
Which team do you think is the team to beat? How will you be preparing to beat them? good luck
Totz (4:03 PM)
The team to beat is definitely Triggers Down. They won the majority of the tournaments. They are definitely the team to beat. If you beat them, you're in good shape for the rest of the tournament.
Jonathan (Cali)
how is legend fitting in on sq?
Totz (4:04 PM)
Legend is definitely a really good fit for us. He has the play style of Strongside and he's a veteran. He's an older kid, so he knows the game more than anyone on our team. It's good to have a teammate like that. He's kind of like Yoda. I call him Daddy. It's great teaming with him.
North (D)
If your team falls out of the top 8, or again plays poorly, what will the team decision be come 2010?
Totz (4:06 PM)
If it does come down to that, I see us possibly splitting up. If you don't make it into the top 8, you might need to split up. That's the goal is to get into the top 8. I don't think that will happen to us. I am not going to think about it until Orlando if it does go bad.
john ivanic (houston,Tx)
How is status quo going to prepare for anaheim?
Totz (4:07 PM)
Actually, we've been trying to get on all the time. But Aaron, Ace, is moving and there is a lot of stuff going on with him moving, so he can't get online. When he is on, Flamesword has school. We're really depending on these two LANs we have set up. We're depending on them to boost our morale and get us ready for Anaheim.
Kevin (OH)
What games do you play outside of tourney competition?
Totz (4:08 PM)
Outside of tournaments and Halo 3, I do not play any video games. My dad just got Daytona racing, where you actually sit in the car to play. (I am the No. 1 Daytona racer in the house.) I don't know if you consider that a video game. Other than that I just chill with my friends.
Wy mlg pros r gud (canada)
when you first started playing halo 3 did you know you were going to be pro?. and 1 more question how long do you train each day for a tornament?.
Totz (4:09 PM)
No. That was always my goal, but I never thought of it. I could never imagine playing for top 8 or top 6. I was like a brigadier grade 2. I was always a 47 and couldn't get over that 48 hump. I never ever thought about being pro until I went to Meadows '08 that I saw Walshy and thought I really wanted to be a pro.
Cameron (Atlanta, GA)
Who do you think is the number one halo player right now?
Totz (4:10 PM)
It looks like Pistola is winning that race right now. He's got back-to-back-to-back MVPs. I would say he's the No. 1 Halo player right now.
Ryan (Cape Coral, Florida)
Who would you say your biggest rival is in the Pro Circuit?
Totz (4:11 PM)
Our biggest rival would have to be Triggers Down. They're the only team to beat us on a LAN over the course of a weekend. They're an all around solid team. We've had our arguments and fair share of fights with them in our house. Every time we go against them, it's like war. It's a big deal.
Totz (4:12 PM)
Thanks for the questions. I hope I answered them well. Root for us in Anaheim. We'll be coming up with some new shirts to give away and wrist bands. We have two events left and look to do some big things.
