Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:00 PM)
Good afternoon everyone...hope it's been a good week so far and you are ready to......get this partaaaaayyyyy started!
Daniel (Indiana)
hey mark, here's a list of eight guys: 24, 48, 11, 14, 39, 42, 44 and 47...any potential winners there, and if not, where do you think they will finish?
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:03 PM)
48,11, and 24 I think have a serious chance to win..14 has outside shot and could run top-5..39 and 42 are potential top-10...44 and 47 have a shot to run top-15...
Billy (TN)
All Knowing-All Seeing, Great Guru Garrow, how did the meeting with the ESPN big bosses go? We have a job next year? Thanks
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:04 PM)
We had a great conversation in Charlotte. They are working on some new games and like Arnold once said...I'll be back...
Nick Rolando (Orlando)
Mark, I think my line-up this weekend is money: 48-14-11-47. Thoughts? Also, I'm here in the computer lab and wondering if Roush starts to put some of his developmental drivers over at RPM after 2011 when Allmendinger and Sadler's contracts run out?
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:06 PM)
Nick your line-up of four drivers pretty strong..I like the 24 though just a little bit better than 14..one spot better that's al..47 could be a real darkhorse Sunday and I talk about him in my race preview. As for Roush putting his developmental drivers over at RPM..hard to say..but if he brings along some cash...like all good used car salesman put it...money talks and nobody walks..lol..
LeBron (Cleveland)
All-mighty Guru, hope the chat with the ESPN higher-ups went well last week. They better know who butters their bread! Two questions: One, the 88 has produced some consistent results here at Martinsville, but is he too messed up in the head right now to take a chance on? And two, I have one allocation left for the 47, would you use him here or save him for Phoenix? Many thanks as always.
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:08 PM)
First, thanks for the props..Second, Junior's big speedway program hasn't been all that great this year but he has kept some of his short track mojo..I'm looking for him to have a top-10 run this weekend..As for Ambrose..I'd probably hold him until Phoenix..Martinsville can be a wild card race just like Talladega..On the other hand, if he doesn't have problems Ambrose has an outside shot to run top-10.
Doug (Wis)
Hello Mark...Do you think Montoya has a good chance to win @ Martinsville, or where do you think his best chance of winning yet this year? I would guess maybe @ Texas, considering how fast he was @ Charlotte.
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:09 PM)
No, I don't think Montoya has much of a chance at winning at Martinsville..Texas, Talladega, and Homestead...he'll be pretty racy at those places.
Denny Hamlin (Martinsville)
50/50 WINNER or BUMMER?
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:10 PM)
You got a chance dude...read my preview..if Johnson goes down on Sunday, I'm figuring you're the guy who's holding the whupping stick...did you hear that Alan in PA?....lol..
chad (Florida)
Slowly but surely I'm moving too the top, Thanks Guru! let's get this out of the way, group one pick one? 24 or 48? group two pick two 2,9,39,42,88,26? group three pick one 47 or 44?
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:12 PM)
48...39 and 42...47..okay Chad...now go be bad!

QUESTION TO MARK GURU GARROW AT 3.20 GOOD WEDNESDAY WHO DOES THE MARTINSVILLE GURU HAVESUNDAY
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:13 PM)
Ray Gordon..good afternoon my man...I'd have to have rocks in my head to bet against Jimmie Johnson..The man is on fire and he's won five of the last six at Martinsville..
cactus jack (new mex )
can the 88 pull it togather this week?
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:13 PM)
Cactus Jack..I really think he can run top-10..He was third at Martinsville a year ago and eighth in the spring. The rest of his deal is junk but short track program not too bad.
cactus jack (new mex )
i have my eye on montoya, newman, ambrose and kurt busch. any issues with those guys?
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:15 PM)
Kurt Busch...Cactus Jack have you gotten into the fire water today?..lol.. What has he done at Martinsville lately? Answer: Nothing!...drop down and take Denny Hamlin.
Big Mama (Yazoo, Miss)
I am back bay-bay! give me Jeff Gordon for the win this week to make the chase really interesting.
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:16 PM)
Big Mama..it's good to have you back...and it would be cool for Gordon to win Sunday..I'm better though it's not going to happen..
Mark (Edmonton)
Good Wednesday afternoon, Guru! I need help with this week's draft. I'm in first place and need one more driver. My draftmates left me to pick one of the following. 09 36 37 64 66 71 75 82 87. Any insight on the Start and Parkers? Which one of these should get me the most points this week. Thanks again for all you do!
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:18 PM)
The only one in that group Mark..and nice first name by the way......that I'm confident won't be a start and park is 82 of Scott Speed..I also think 09 with Sterling Marlin might run the wholedeal.
Vince (LA)
Hey Mark. Who do we like for the floor, 12, 6, 43, or lower? Is Gilligan racing the whole race?
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:20 PM)
71 car doesn't have sponsorship so I doubt they go the whole way..ranking those three before crew chief chat..43,12, and 6.
mike p (danbury ct)
hi mark,my nascar poll is as folloes, you can only pick a driver twice for instence if i pick the 88 twice i am done for the year.thats how that works. need a little help now theirs a double point at dega and triple at homestead. the others are reg points. the drivers i have left are 48,14,88,29,31,twice,00,twice and the 33. please rank them by race by your best guess including dega and homestead. thanks by the way thanks for kasey kane last week. i hope that was better.
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:24 PM)
Mike..not sure I have enough info under my fingers to help you with this too much..48 at Martinsville..Tony or Junior at Talladega..00 at Texas and Homestead..Harvick and 31 at Phoenix..33 maybe Texas or Phoenix..
Cal (NYC)
Any faith in the 88 for this week and next? Or should I try the 26?
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:25 PM)
88 has much more upside in my opinion than 26..who will now probably go out and win the race to make me look bad...lol..
Mike (NC)
Thinking about this so far 48, 11, 33, 88, 6, any suggestions?
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:26 PM)
Mike, that's a decent team going in..we'll need to keep an eye on how the 33, 88, and 6..might have to make a change or two after qualifying and practice.
Ken (Hendersonville)
Mark: Please post the right time for the Sunday chat...just thought I would throw a little salt on your wounds.
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:27 PM)
Thanks buddy..appreciate that...again my bad for the wrong start time this past weekend..it's 10:00 am eastern this Sunday..
Laura (VA)
Hi Guru! Can you please rank these guys for me: 39 88 33 18 and 99? Thanks for your help, as always!
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:28 PM)
39..33...18...99..88...and you're welcome!
Rikd (FL)
Who you see as a good floor candidate. Going with 14,5,48,88 and thinking 71
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:29 PM)
I think the 71 might turn out to be a start and park..if you have to go low, low..if Sterling Marlin is running all the laps and I'm not sure if he is..he might be worth looking at..He practiced at "Little Rock" yesterday with Jimmie Johnson and John Andretti.
JJ GLOOR (Hicksville)
789 not to bad back to back over 760 48,9,33,20,6!!!!! Any how ragan has done ok but last two races top10 and a 20th place and hes .7 too the good Well before i stat babaling more what ya think of my line up to carry over??Stay away from rookie? Try and get #11(Thats right Alan) in?? Only 1 finish worse than 8th here
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:32 PM)
I think you'll want to get your hands on Hamlin..I'd just don't see the 20 doing much..this is toughest place for a rookie to get the hang of..and Logano I believe is going to have it rough again just like in the spring.
Brad (SD)
How's the weather looking this weekend out there? We getting everything in?
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:32 PM)
That could be an issue...just have to kep our fingers crossed right?
Joe's Wife (FL)
I hope all went well with the bosses this past weekend!! I had the 20 last weekend with a very top heavy team...my question is, should I hold him for this week, (I had the 18 + 20) ..or trade for the 39 47?
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:33 PM)
I think that trade will strenghthen your team..18 should do okay but 20 could hurt you.
Brett (Iowa )
Whats up with the guru? So the 11 hurt me big time last week. Do you think he pulls it together for a whole race?Only got 1 start left with him and I know Martinsville he averages his best finsh among tracks left. Do I put him in the lineup and see how he practices before I decide to start him or do I just sit him from the get go?
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:35 PM)
This is as good a place as any to run Hamlin. He's bad to the bone on this track and has scored more short points than anyone else.
mike p (danbury ct)
thanks i tried to make it simple. how about tony at homesred is triple points
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:44 PM)
Mike that wouldn't be a bad ..over last three years Tony as an 8.0 average there.
Nick Rolando (Orlando)
Mark, what's the deal with the 1 car next year? I heard McMurray wasn't a candidate then on Jayski I heard he was heading there? As a Ford Fan I hate to see him go b/c I think he's a good driver and woule be a good fit at RPM.
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:46 PM)
I also heard McMurray was out of consideration at Earnhardt-Ganassi..now he's apparently back in..as for RPM..Sadler's got a contract through next year and is a Richard Petty favorite..only way somone else fits in there is if Menard takes a walk with his sponsorship money..a.k.a..Daddy's big check..
George L. (CA)
Rank these Mark .... 77,43,44 ..... thank you sir !
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:47 PM)
44,43, and 77 and you're welcome..
Mike (Los Angeles)
Thoughts on 48-42-18-88-26 as an early prelim lineup?
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:48 PM)
Mike it has potential..I want the 11 though instead of 42..18 is really good on the other short tracks..but record kind of spotty at Martinsville..Shrub was 24th in the spring..only top-25 in last four starts there.
Joey G (Tampa)
Mark, Who's your Top 25 this week?
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:49 PM)
1. Jimmie Johnson 2. Denny Hamlin 3. Jeff Gordon4. Tony Stewart 5. Ryan Newman 6. Mark Martin7. Clint Bowyer8. Juan Pablo Montoya9. Joe (FL)
Yea, the wife spanked me again - need to start my team from scratch - can you rank these for Martinsville - 39, 42, 9, 88, 29, 00, Thanks
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:52 PM)
First Joe should you be talking about your wife spanking you in public?...she's done it so many times people are going to starting thinking you like it...lol....39..42..88..29...00...and 9..
Mark "Guru" Garrow (3:59 PM)
Okay..slow day..you guys are just taking it easy on me because you're going to lay it on hot and heavy Sunday morning...Alright I can live with that...Sunday morning chat 10:00 eastern..This time I got it right Ken..so call off the toy poodle peeing on my leg please..lol...may the force be with you and hope all of you have a great week...talk to you Sunday..."The Guru has left the building!"
