Shane (Iowa)
Spikes receiving a half game suspension against Vanderbilt is just as pathetic as what Spikes did! The punishment is just as bad as the crime in this case and shows you just how bad sports have become in terms of teaching kids how to be right and just and have good sportsmanship! Money talks and correct punishment walks!!
Ronnie Flaugh (Knoxville)
1/2 game suspension for spikes is just a JOKE, way to go Urban, sell you soul for the RING in waiting.
Roller (Kentucky)
Phills all the way baby!!
Roller (Kentucky)
What about C. Hamels, should Charlie tell him to just pack his bags and head on home? Whats up with the attitude?
mike (Atlanta)
Can cliff lee pitch game 6 and 7? if he could phillies could pull it off.
Roller (Kentucky)
Maybe R. Howard should just DH in New York and put a better defensive first baseman on the bag.
Jayson Louk (Webster City, Iowa)
I love your show, and Skip makes it the best show on television. I just wish you could find someone who could give him a challange in the debates. He demolished Ocho Cinco twice and everyone else who ever tried to take him on. Skip you rule!
Umor (Detroit)
Chase Utley breaks the HR record next game.
Roller (Kentucky)
I know Ryan Howard is in a slump and will come out of it and he is one of the best hitters in the game when he is on but man is he a terrible defensive first baseman.
Mike Webber (Alaska)
If Skip new 1/4 of what he thinks he knows he would be Dangerous!
Kevin (Michigan)
I have a question...if the Yankees win the world series, who is the favorite to be series MVP?
mike (Atlanta)
The ncaa needs to step in and suspend spikes for at least 2 games.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Good morning, First Take crew. Disappointing game last night. That should have been Chad Gaudin losing to Cliff Lee.
Umor (Detroit)
Maybe Cliff Lee can pitch game 7 if it get's that far.
jeff (ohio)
just goes to show you big money rules the world. spikes should be gone for at least a game
stacy (ky)
welecome back dana....hey jay.
Kevin (Michigan)
THe world series needs a game 7
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
I'll have what Chase Utley is having
Umor (Detroit)
And man that was bad philly defence in the 8th. They almost gave it away last night.
DJ_1_Slick (follow (Gifford, FL)
Chase is what MLB baseball players should emulate. humble, team-oriented and PRODUCTIVE! by the way....Yanks in 6.
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
who thinks the ncaa should take the refs out of the individual conferences hands and make it a national organization overseen by the ncaa?
mike (Atlanta)
What? how did last nights game get to 27-35? did i miss something. changed the channel after atlanta turned it over on downs?
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
morning all.
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
Morning Jay.
OnTheFly (Oklahoma)
Good Morning, missed chatin yesterday...Larry TX if you are out there...You guys killed us..
Patrick (TAMPA)
If i had a bad hamstring i dont think i would be jumping up and down lol
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
looks like the yanks just wanted to win at home thats all.
Ty. New jersey [via mobile]
Phillies gonna make history
Dylan J (Alaska)
the vikings and the saints are the two best teams in the NFC. GO VIKINGS! too bad we let sharper go, we need a good safety!
Scott (Phoenix)
Urban Meyer could have suspended him for more than a half. But he didn't. I lost alot of respect for Urban Meyer
mike (Atlanta)
you know that is just like the new york media. forget what tex has done for you all year.
mike m (canton,oh)
is there a nfl owner that seems as stupid as al lerner in cleveland, you fire your gm that your head coach hand picked, kokinas was the scape goat for the browns debacle,if kokinas has to go so does mangini, only half the teams still belives in mangini and they are his former jets players
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
27 outs til 27 championships Jay! They waned to bring it back to NY to the new stadium.
joey (tx)
where are the people that picked OSU to beat Texas?
Mark (Ann Arbor)
The NCAA and the SEC want that Florida Bama SEC championship game. They willl do anything not to derail it.
DJ_1_Slick (follow (Gifford, FL)
hey Jay, whattup wit Skip callin u out bout your followers the other day? he really IS the DH huh? LOL!
DJ_1_Slick (follow (Gifford, FL)
Yanks orchestrate the fairy tale ending to the World Series...see yall in NY....(champagne chilling in the background)
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
MVP is Mariano or Jeter
joey (tx)
Ya Derek "Double Play" Jeter should win it.
Scott (Phoenix)
Utley should be the MVP regardless of the Phillies win or lose the World Series. He has been the best player on the field and its not even an arguement at this point.
Kevin (Michigan)
Is there any team more exciting to watch right now than the New Orleans Saints....they are my adopted team in place of the Detroit lions so I can actually root for a pro team
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
The other thing here is we are talking VANDERBILT! You can't sit the guy for the whole game against Vandy? Urban Meyer is a tool and if you didn't hate Florida before you should now.
DJ_1_Slick (Gifford, FL)
hey Dana, whats easier...closing out the World Series as a pitcher...or an NFL 2-minute drill when a field goal wins it?
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
Bring back Woody!!
OnTheFly (Oklahoma)
Hey joey if i was a crying person i would have cried a river this weekend....it was bad.
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
Chase Gehrig is doing his thing Skip.
Jonathan (ATL)
The NY papers (Post and Daily News) are tabloid rags.....how can they be critical of the Yanks when they're one game away from winning the series....just trying to stir up drama that's all.
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
Pedro is going to get rocked
mike (Atlanta)
i though baseball game was going to be a blow out so i switched to football. then the stupid yankees cam back and i had to watch that and missed some the football game.
OnTheFly (Oklahoma)
Mark i agree...had that been a player from some another team there would have been stiffer action taken by ncaa. ncaa not on my fav. list..
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
ha good one dana.
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
I love Jamele...she can handle Skip's nonsense!
Rick (South Carolina)
Jayson Werth is going to come up clutch again against Pettite in Game 6.
Andrew (CT)
The yankees will knock pedro out the game early and win big
Mark (Ann Arbor)
I think if that had been some 2nd string Defensive lineman for Florida he would have been suspended more than a half. But since its an all american linebacker, he gets a pass.
Jonathan (ATL)
Didn't Skip say last week that Howard would get out of his slump before ARod........I'm glad Skip is sticking with Howard. That means he'll go, at best, 1-4 tomorrow the one hit being a single.
jeff (ohio(bengalland))
when skip talks i here blah blah blah i hate blah blah blah.... anyone else
stacy (ky)
good one dana ha!!!!
COLE (PHOENIX)
IF I WERE JOE GIRARDI I WOULDN'T HAVE STARTED AJ....PROBABLY WOULDA GONE WITH CHAD GAUDIN. I'M VERY DISSAPOINTED IN MY YANKEES BUT I BELIEVE THAT TEX CAN PICK IT UP AND JETER AND A-RUTH CAN STAY HOT. PEDRO IS GOING TO GET LIT UP....WHO'S YOUR DADDY!!!!
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
Pedro who's your daddy? You're the most influential pitcher in Yankee stadium? Yea ok it's a wrap for Pedro.
Kevin (Michigan)
remember blood sells papers...that is why they are critical of everyone...positive pieces never move papers
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Kevin: Saints are very exciting but the Vikes are making all of their games a pretty exciting watch too. Best two teams in the NFC right now.
Mark (Alabama)
Hey Dana ,Jay what is yalls opinion on the Spikes punishment,(if you can call it that)
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
Too bad we dont play the saints..then we could show the world the colts are number 1!!!!!
Jonathan (ATL)
Mike, you should have stuck to the WS the way Matty-Ice played last night for the Falcons. Deion Sanders said this the other day and he's right...Flacco is definitely separating himself from Ryan as the better QB.
COLE (PHOENIX)
SKIP:DIDN'T YOU SAY HOWARD WOULD BUST OUTTA THE SLUMP BEFORE A-RUTH?YOUR THOUGHTS SKIP....
Roller (Kentucky)
Hey Jay- isn't it nice watching the Yanks and all the money go down the drain????
Ty. New jersey [via mobile]
Phillies will light up pettitte
Kevin (Michigan)
Who agrees with me....Jayson Werth looks like Edge from the WWE
Andrew (CT)
someone tell skip there will be NO game 7
Kevin (Michigan)
I would love to see a Saints - Vikings game...two dome teams. They would be great
Mark (Alabama)
I think Dana new job is Skippy's handler
OnTheFly (Oklahoma)
jeff sometimes that blah blah blah has some truth to it.
Roller (Kentucky)
Wow, people already picking MVP, after the Phills win the WS J. Girardi is getting fired cause what else can management do, they already tried to buy the world series for him?!
Jonathan (ATL)
Roller....have you had a few early morning cocktails? Last I checked the Yanks were up 3-2 heading to NYC.
Roller (Kentucky)
People just love to hate the SEC period and look for ways to constantly talk them down.
Jeff (Lemont, Il)
This year's Phillies remind me of watching 1964's version of Brad Lidge - Jack Baldschun blow leads - where's Jim Bunning when we need him?
COLE (PHOENIX)
KEVIN FROM MICHIGAN.....YESSSS!!!!!!!!
Scott (Phoenix)
Sporttown how many times have the Colts started out like Gangbusters and then flamed out at the end of the year or playoffs? Pretty common trend.
mike m (canton,oh)
roller have you been sippin the sauce this early,no way the phillies win both games in ny
jeff (ohio(bengalland))
sometimes? when i like skip but who does he give credit to.... oh yeah vince young
Mark (Alabama)
Alright everyone "If Spikes was just a second or third stringer, would the punishment be more severe"?
joey (tx)
Ya some truth but he loses credibilty when he doesnt put Texas in the top 5.
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
Ryan was due to have a sophomore slump. Mainly because his O-line isn't as good as last year.
Umor (Detroit)
I'll give pedro the edge B/C he's hasn't played as much as Pet. And he's been money this post season.
Shane (Iowa)
Pretty pathetic when players believe media comments that are chopped up and edited to sell more papers and make more news over their teammates. I have a little suggestion for such players; ASK THEM YOURSELVES WHAT HAPPENED/WHAT WAS SAID!!!
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
myers/hamels beef will be the philly downfall!!
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
Cole Hamels needs to get back to reality. He hasn't put last year behind him.
Andrew (CT)
Roller (Kentucky) I dont know what you been watching but the yankees are up 3-2 going home...so what money going down the drain would you be talking about!!!
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I think if this does go seven, the Yankees still win it. Too much going on with the Phillies and Cole Hamels right now. I think that can become a distraction. If the Yankees don't win it though, oh boy are they going to be sore in the Bronx.
Mike (Maine)
Spikes gets suspended for a half for that garbage he pulled and dez bryant gets suspended for a year for talking to a former player?? total garbage urban meyer should be ashamed of himself
Kevin (Michigan)
Ryan was due for a slump because there is no way they could continue to run the ball like they did last season
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
Do you think meyer would have suspende spikes at all if it were a must have game
Andrew (CT)
mod you should ban roller from this chat
Ty. New jersey [via mobile]
Hamels mind is on surfing and sun
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
Non issue except if you are Buster Olney and you need something off field to talk about
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
I'm doing a rain dance for a world series postponement so that Cliff Lee might pitch again.
mike (Atlanta)
i sat pierre thomas in my fantasy league and lost my game cuz of it.......Thats going to hurt for a while
Roller (Kentucky)
Hey I'm just saying its not over and when the Phills win the next one I don't want to hear any crying!!!!!
jeff (ohio(bengalland))
bengalbill... no way would he do that to much money on the line.
Shaun (ohio)
im pretty sure any major league hitter can hit home runs like utley when the pitches are right down the middle of the plate, yankees are goin to win in 6-look for pedro to be ousted in 5
Flemming (Copenhagen, Denmark)
Why would anyone pay attention to Brett Myers?
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Roller: The kid gouged someone's eyes and got a slap on the wrist. The SEC schools seem to have someone being investigated by the NCAA or on probation every year. Maybe if the SEC cleaned up its act people would leave them alone.
DAVID (Bowie,Md)
There will be a game 7...Book-it...ha
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
Hamels is a cry baby. Sounds like Manny to me.
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
A MINIMUM of 2 games is what I would have suspended Spikes for that thuggish act, Or 1 game with public apology to Georgia player and some sort of community outreach.
joey (tx)
The football game was stupid play calling Turner was runnung great and when het got to the red zone they would throw it and get nothing. Its like they want Matt Ryan to get all the TDs. Like Florida and Tebow.
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
BCS should stand for BECAUSE CASH SPEAKS
Umor (Detroit)
Jay I'm with you, Miss half of both games switcthing back and forth last night.
mike m (canton,oh)
if tex bat ever wakes up in game 6 or 7 the yanks will roll right over the phillies at home
Jonathan (ATL)
Roller....are you related to Skip cause you sure sound like him.
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
Hey Shaun...a 2-seam fastball still moves. Look at the first HR from Utley. He read it well.
Scott (Phoenix)
Someone needs to ask Lane Kiffin what he thinks of how Florida handled Spikes suspension. I can only imagine what he would say, and I know it would be awesome.
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
Im calling my shot now, Yanks in 6. Scoreboard.
mike (Atlanta)
anyone catch iverson's debut...........yea i didn't think so.
scott (niagara falls)
hey jason thats the only chance of winning your phillies have
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I don't see any problems with owners investing in their teams to make them winners. So what if the Yankees pay top dollar? At least they show they care about the product they put on the field and in keeping fans happy.
robert (hattiesburg, MS)
the saints aren't as good as everyone is making them out to be. on paper they have lost 3 games. remember mcnabb was hurt. kolb had a big day but he also threw 3 interceptions and went 1-5 in the red zone. with mcnabb at qb the eagles score 2 more red zone td's and 2 less interceptions. if miami stays within their gameplan in the second half the saints lose that one. the jets beat the saints on paper but 4 interceptions and 1-4 in the red zone was the difference
Jerimie (Philly)
Any one think that maybe Myers was just making a joke at Hamels? Maybe Myers was joking about how much of a big deal the Media (and some fans) are making out of Hamels comments?
OnTheFly (Oklahoma)
Bengalbill right on the mark...that's what it come's down to
Kevin (Michigan)
The BCS needs an SEC versus Texas championship game...how low would ratings be for a FLorida vs. Iowa game?
Umor (Detroit)
a half game Suspendsion is a joke. SEC is protecting Florida again.
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
My fantasy matchup had me lose with Thomas' late game TD. We were tied when Ryan fumbled at the end of the game.
Roller (Kentucky)
Hamels needs to take his hind end to the house cause last year is over, come on man!!
dana (10:23 AM)
morning folks
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Is Derek Jeter still "Mr. November" or has Utley usurped that title?
Trevor (Clinton Township, MI)
I hear Kordell Stewart routinely mispronounce last names...Pierre Thompson? I guess that's FIU head coach Isiah's brother?....
Jonathan (ATL)
the ESPN MNF machine is in full effect talking about the Saints going undefeated this season. Like that really matters. Just ask the '07 Pats how that worked out for them. Layoff the undefeated talk.
COLE (PHOENIX)
DANA, WHO WOULD YOU PUT ON THE BUMP IN GAME 7 FOR THE PHILS?
craig (philly)
Like Skip said, Cole needed to get hit verbally right between the eyes. In Philly we call it a Sucker Punch. Cole needed that,Stop crying Cole.
Kevin (Michigan)
morning Dana
Umor (Detroit)
Saw IVO highlight, And he's still complaning about coming off the bench.
dana (10:23 AM)
cole, i'd go with cole with a very short leash
tomwit nj [via mobile]
Spikes was retaliating for getting his helmet pulled off and poked in his eye. He just put his fingers in the helmet. Any 3 Stooges fan knows a real eye gouge when they see it. Now,like the Blount incident its National news. What if they were white kids? Im white and I see the big picture here. Give them a break. Conrad Dobler was beloved for being a dirty player.
Andrew (CT)
roller sounds like a red sox fan
Shaun (ohio)
but when the pitch comes over the middle of the plate thats what major league players that make millions of dollars should do
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
Utley is a savvy hitter, you can't leave a "meatball" dead middle of the strike zone and expect him to just look at it.
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
Hands down Kordell these guys are the best.
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
Martinez will outlast Pettite, Pettite only good for 4-5 innings with short rest. Howard is OVERDUE for a HR.
mod (10:24 AM)
so is Tex
DJ_1_Slick *Twitter* (Gifford, FL)
i hate 2 say this...but Skip is absolutely correct. you don't awake the sleeping giant a.k.a. Mr. Howard by challenging him 2 hit. stick 2 your guns and win this thing on YOUR terms Girardi!
dana (10:24 AM)
dave that's hte danger if you do pitch around utley and howard really is due...i like my suggestion, flip a coinj
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
Mangini is a DEAD coach walking no doubt about it. Fans are calling the shots there, no more GM.
Jeff (Dallas)
I want to know if other people feel the same way I do. I think there should be a rule that goes something like this: I you get busted for drus, guns or anything illegal you lose your contract, you're fired!! Or if you throw a punch, or poke someones eye out you are also fired!! If it was you or I that did that at work we would be fired. So whats the differnce in sports, it's a job and it should be treated like one!!
Shaun (ohio)
when utley has as many rings as jeter then you can call him mr november
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
Shaun, a 2-seamer moves away from a lefty...not to mention that AJ has a sick breaking ball. I agree that a MLB hitter can take a fastball out, but give the kid some credit.
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
He gets a half a game suspension in a game where Florida is favored by 35 points...insane
Jonathan (ATL)
Robert your right about the Saints. Unfortunately they have a cupcake schedule for the remainder of the season. They're only challenging games are the Cowboys (and that iffy to call challenging), Atlanta again on the road and the Patriots. I think the Pats and Atlanta will expose them.
joey (tx)
So if Vince wins 5 or more games is Fisher gone?
Scott (Phoenix)
Tomwit - are you Urban Meyers spokes person? Please
Shaun (ohio)
so is tex
OnTheFly (Oklahoma)
Saints are the real deal...They are good and well they have proven it on the field..
willie (topeka basement)
can my falcons still make the playoffs?
Kevin (Michigan)
that wasn't a stooges eye gouge...that was a pro wrestling eye gouge
scott (niagara falls)
can we play game 6 1st people it wont even go to game 7
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
lets face it the good ole buys conference aka the sec is proving this year how crooked they are from top to bottom
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Dana made it today! Still trying to figure out how your teams lost to Illinois and the Rams over the weekend?
Shane (Iowa)
J.B. you summed it up about Meyer succinctly!!
Mark (Alabama)
Bama VS Texas
arnold (st.louis)
howard will break out in a dramatic fashion
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
Colts are the best!!!
jeff (ohio(bengalland))
the saints only chance of miami is home field. brees cant play outside. keep winning drew and you will go to the show
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
What happened to 2 big dudes on a lil couch. Now its the medium dudes on 2 chairs.
dana (10:26 AM)
JB preplanned vaca time but yes the weekend was not so good sports wise for me.
Jason (Tampa)
It will be Yankees turn for their bats to wake up tonight. Remember Posada and Matsui will start in the lineup.
Shaun (ohio)
utley is a great player but he should be hitting with the pitches he is seeing
dana (10:26 AM)
cory that's thursday and friday
jay (10:26 AM)
what a great sports night! 2 awesome games! great stuff!
Trevor (Clinton Township, MI)
J.B., the Lions loss isn't that surprising....yes they won a game this year, however they still have a nasty 2-29 streak going here.
Jonathan (ATL)
By the way, kudos to Outside the Lines for not letting Tom Cable off the assault and battery hook. I think the Raiders will take too much heat and end up firing him at the end of the season.
Andrew (CT)
who cares about the saints being undefeated! Look what happened when the pats went 16-0, they lost in the SB...the saints will be lucky to just 1 game in the playoffs
GregP (cincinnati, OH)
Dana I think that you have to go back to Cliff Lee. I hate that our baseball era is so little hearted that we can't dream of a major league pitcher going on little rest. THAT'S WHY THEY ARE PROS AND GET PAID THE BIG BUCKS
mike m (canton,oh)
it wont matter if the phillies win game 6...who will the phillies start in game 7 against cc cuz you know he will start on short rest again
OnTheFly (Oklahoma)
We been placing bets on which week mangini gets fired...it'll happen
jay (10:26 AM)
oh btw...gooood morning to the best sports fans in the universe!
Jerimie (Philly)
Robert, thats why they play the game on the field and not on paper...would haves, could haves, should haves don't win rings!
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
I know DANA, but what do I watch tonight? Glad NBA started.
dana (10:27 AM)
greg p, ou prepare him to go but see what cole can give you. you can put lee in as soon as needed
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
Great stuff Jay!
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
Jeff: You and I are replaceable at and turn. These guys are held to a different standard because of the revenue thats is generated. No big deal, if we were in that position we would expect to be treated like that also. Just the way it is.
Scott (Phoenix)
I am not sure what is worse. The officiating in a Lakers playoff game or the officating in a Florida or Alabama game.
Umor (Detroit)
Man the Browns get rid of their GM under guard. There incompetence is in the Lions league now.
john (panama city bch, fl)
Sub-Urban Meyer showed his most MASTERFUL example of clock management. By addressing the Spikes incident so quikly, he forced the NCAA to act hastily- much the same as making a quick snap before a play is reviewed. Will the NCAA respond by back-peddling...I HOPE so!!!!
mike (Atlanta)
hey jay you going to take that GM role in Cleveland? Did mangini call you yet?
Jonathan (ATL)
Andrew...as this is election day, I endorse your comment about the Saints.
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
mornin jay got coffee?
Shaun (ohio)
its not mangini; no talent in cleveland
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
thats cold skip.
Roller (Kentucky)
Howard will have a monster game Wed. so go ahead and challenge him.
mike (Atlanta)
why do we do this. Break down an undefeated team and say they are not that good? THERE UNDEFEATED! bottom line.
Roller (Kentucky)
They should have kept giving Turner the ball he couldn't be stopped but I guess it was MNF and they wanted Matty-Ice to shine.
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
everyone keeps talking about the colts choking in the post...at least we're always in the play-offs...how about your team?
Roller (Kentucky)
Why didn't they go ahead and send Mangini out the door also, cause he sucks too
Reischea (10:29 AM)
Morning Nation! Hope all is well.
dana (10:29 AM)
roller jay and i were talking about that earlier, gotta wonder if mangini said it's not me it's not me, it's him and thats why kokinis is going. afterall he was mangini's pick
mike (Atlanta)
yeah skip im sure that when the saints started this season they said...if we lose 2 games this is really going to be a disappointment
mike m (canton,oh)
shaun it is mangini hes lost the teams except his former jets players
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
Caldwell is doing a solid job!! we know football here in Indy!
Umor (Detroit)
Dana ask skip this. 16-0 And lose the SB or 14-2 And win the Superbowl.
Scott (Phoenix)
Browns vs Lions in a couple weeks. Should decide who the worst team in the NFL is.
GregP (cincinnati, OH)
I agree Sporttown, as a die hard bengal fan not being able to cheer my team in the playoff, I find myself always routing for the Colts because THEY MAKE IT!!!
Mark (Alabama(Roll Tide))
morning Reischea, Dana, Jay,
Mark (Alabama(Roll Tide))
Jay whats your opinion on Spikes punishment
dana (10:31 AM)
umor no need to ask him, you know when skip's mind is made up...i'm with you though. i dont think a couple losses in the regular season hurt. i think it's a wake up.
joey (tx)
Its not Mangini they were horrible last year and this year they got rid of his 2 best offensive players. They are just bad.
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
The ravens aint a bird you find in the jungle! think they get defeathered again this weekend
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
well said roller.
Charles J (Baton Rouge, LA)
Who dat talking about beating them saints!!! It would be milestone for the organization to undefeated, However, i would take a loss, come back down to reality, and refocus for home field advantage. The goal is to when it all!!!
Shaun (ohio)
brandon macdonald should not be a starting db, we have a terrible right side of the line, we dont have an nfl qb
john (panama city bch, fl)
Last nites game should be dubbed- "Monte Python's Flying Circus"... incredible grabs (and hops) on BOTH teams! I'm starting to think that Matt Ryan is for real...Oh, and did someone play baseball?
Patrick (Houston)
Believe it or not, I dont usually disagree with Skip. But calling Ryan Howard the best clutch hitter in baseball is rediculous. Im an Astros fan and I have to admidt that title belongs to Albert Pujols. He's actually the third best clutch guy on his own team behind Rollins and Utley. Read this to Skip!! Ryan Howard is a modern day Sammy Sosa- strike out, or home run.
jay (10:32 AM)
man i think its a joke! a half game for trying to scratch a guys eyes out???? wow!
DAVID (Bowie,Md)
good morn jay,dana,andreis...
Scott (Phoenix)
Ask the Patroits if they would have rather gone undefeated or 15-1 and won the Super Bowl.
Umor (Detroit)
Thanks DJ.
mike m (canton,oh)
jay whats your take on the browns gm situation
OnTheFly (Oklahoma)
mangini can't coach if his life depended on it. he too wishy washy ..he trys to mimic someone he won't ever get close to being
Mark (Alabama(Roll Tide))
Jay analyzing pitching the way you can do you think Pedro still has what it takes in the WS
john (panama city bch, fl)
When will Mercury Morris put out the WELCOME mat,lol
Umor (Detroit)
Still don't see how the Bat bit Manu. He swatted out of the air clean. Musta bit him when he picked it up.
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
Cleveland is a bigger joke than Oakland, sorry Jay. At least Al doesn't let the fans run the show, he runs into the ground his self.
Tim C (Bakersfield,CA)
Do any of you guys know how much that kind of stuff happens on the football field, under piles a lot worse happens. The eye gouge happens more than you all realize. I wont go into details but a little eye gouge probably not your biggest worry under the pile, get over it
jay (10:32 AM)
biggest embarrasment in cleveland pro sports history. and trust! that's saying something.
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
I will take 9-7 and win the Superbowl over 16-0 and losing the Superbowl....duh
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
money talks jay the sec aint doin squat to their cash cow
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Pittsburgh at Denver on MNF. Yes!
dana (10:33 AM)
scott despite the loss to the rams, i'd argue detroit is better. not going rex ryan on you but missing a key component in calvin johnson. and the safety after the pick. wow...that's like the lions safety last year stepping out of bounds. rams, chiefs, browns, bucs, and lions all in that pool...let's see who survives the battle of attrition.
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
thats alright neighbor gregP...the bengals might be there this year ..go ocho!!!
Flemming (Copenhagen, Denmark)
Clutch doesn't exist.
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
(looking at calendar) When will the Bucs win a game? Maybe we should use our throwbacks, we are already losing.
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
David Bowie is in this chat?!
mike m (canton,oh)
i dont know what lerner will do,who is going to want to come into that situation while being handcuffed with mangini and brian dabol
mike (Atlanta)
now if we look back to skips prediction on the vikings in the preseason then brett favres are should fall off soon and the vikes will lose 6 of there last 8 games
darryl (indiana)
CLEVELAND HAS TO KEEP MANGINI BECAUSE DONT NOBODY WANTS TO COACH THERE
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
Jay at least you have the rock-n-roll hall of fame....you know cause Cleveland Rocks!!!
jeff (ohio(bengalland))
bengal fans its a huge week. skip do you think ocho will prove you wrong AGAIN
Trevor (Clinton Township, MI)
That's right, Iverson isn't a 6th man....7th through 12th is more like it. He's not a starter in the NBA anymore...he's a glorified ball hog...thanks for those 39 wins last year AI...
Roller (Kentucky)
Yeah Dana, he must have been saying it wasn't him but man how can a guy like Mangini even have a say in who is managing the team cause he hasn't proven anything
dana (10:34 AM)
darryl there are always guys who want a chance, otherwise no one would be coaching the raiders or lions.
Shane (Iowa)
Whoever said people are always discrediting the SEC and trying to bring it down must be drunk this morning!! Most, if not all sports analysts I listen to and watch are always saying how competitive the SEC is and how other conferences can't compete with them. Now, if you said that about the BIG 10 I could understand.
jay (10:34 AM)
he can give the phils 5 solid innings. id put him on a hard 85 pitch count no matter what. he fades hard as we know. he can be great particularly on longer rest, which he doesnt have here. this series is in the hands of the phils bats. if the scratch out 5 in each game, they will win the series. if not, number 27...
Shaun (ohio)
we dont have talent
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
If there is a game 7 and Hamels struggles early, who do you put in? Happ?
darryl (indiana)
CLEVELAND PLEASE START BRADY QUINN!
Scott (Phoenix)
Dana, I agree when Calvin Johnson is healthy the Lions are better than the Bucs, Rams and Browns. But he is not, which is a HUGE loss.
jeff (ohio(bengalland))
the browns should go get marty back
stacy (ky)
funny....
Shaun (ohio)
thats probably true darryl
THE_REAL_FAN ((TWITTER))
I am relaxed and feeling great!
Shane (Iowa)
Cable obviously has anger issues and comes acrossed as nothing less than a thug. Anyone else liking the fact that Raiders are losing for such reasons?
Umor (Detroit)
Jay that's not really a suspension. half a game. And the next game against a push over for florida
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
Get him Jamele
jay (10:35 AM)
better of 2 evils. i agree. anderson has been painfully bad.
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
Yes, JA Happ or Moyer. 2 starters in the bullpen.
mike m (canton,oh)
i agree jeff i miss marty ball
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
The Bengals have a chance to clinch the division after week 10
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
You're late, Reischea. I hope you brought a note from Epstein's mother.
joey (tx)
Well dont blame the SEC. Why wouldnt they want there cash cow to keep winning? Its good business.
Trevor (Clinton Township, MI)
I agree with Dana that the Detroit Lions aren't the worst team in the NFL, but they'll lose to any team on any given Sunday for no rhyme or reason. If they play any of those horrendous teams, they'll lose, its just what they do...Sunday was exhibit A.
jeff (ohio(bengalland))
sprottown you are so right peyton is a beast and a great leader
jay (10:36 AM)
id accept that. hey they're bringing back bernie and accorsi. how about ozzie newsome?
Shane (Iowa)
The Browns fire their GM who they have only had since January? He hasn't had enough time to do his job and is nothing more than a scapegoat. Browns fans I wouldn't expect to start winning anytime soon because of this big, bad, bold move!! (sarcasm)
jay (10:36 AM)
oh we're not.
Mark (Alabama(Roll Tide))
Jay maybe the Cable Guy needs to slap around Browns coach
jay (10:37 AM)
gruden wouldnt take it. the cupboard is bare. his next job will need better players. his rep is somewhat at stake after the way tampa ended.
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
cleveland needs parcells jay
Tim C (Bakersfield,CA)
Umor, it should not be more than it is. It happens all the time. anyone that played football knows this. why do you think players started wearing visors?
Shane (Iowa)
Redskins fans it's time to stage our own walkout! We need to get rid of our GM A LOT worse they did!!
GregP (cincinnati, OH)
begalbill I hope so...WHO DEY!!!
john (panama city bch, fl)
If this happens "all the time" in pile-ups (and I've played, and i know it happens SOMETIMES) it should be ADDRESSED and CURTAILED H A R S H L Y!!!
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
lol..mark
jay (10:37 AM)
yeah, sure. he'll leave south beacj for the lake erie shore. i wish!
Scott (Phoenix)
Jay maybe the Browns can bring back, Eric Metcalf or Webster Slaughter out of retirement. i am sure that would be an upgrade from Jamal Lewis and their receiving corre
mike m (canton,oh)
jay ozzie would be great but why would he want to come into such a bad orginization
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
So who may Chambers sign with that could use him?
Jeremy (Florida)
I agree that a 1/2 game suspension for Spikes is a little light, it was an act of malicious intent to harm another player. However, there is no evidence that Spikes even got through to his face and touched the man. Afterall, the RB didn't jump up and complain or leave the field with discomfort. Watching the video, it looks like Spikes has a lot of trouble fitting his gloved hand through the face mask. Thus, if the glove don't fit, you MUST acquit!
jay (10:38 AM)
because...he's a brown. always will be.
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
Gruden likes his gig at MNF. Look how long Al Michaels has been there. Gruden would want full operating control.
GregP (cincinnati, OH)
Was anyone else upset at the Saints chant of WHO DAT?
Jonathan (ATL)
Mangini is gone.....I'm sure the Cleveland ownership doesn't want to go through the drama of dealing with a coaching change in the middle of a terrible season. It's not like changing the coach will make them a playoff contender this year. So they just wait it out and fire him immediately following the last game.
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
Skins fans...you need a new O-Line. You have the talent there.
dana (10:38 AM)
chris A, dolphins, ravens, texans come to mind.
willie (topeka with my lady)
the nfc looks tough this year
Digger Phelps (NYC)
This is a PAYBACK for AROD vs. PEdro Whats up Adam G
Mark (Alabama(Roll Tide))
Jay does it make it worse that the Bengals are winning?
JP (Florida)
Jeremy, does it really matter? its against vanderbilt? why not just suspend him the whole game to LOOK like you care.
Nick (VA)
Wow...the Raiders accusing ESPN of reporting "falsehoods"...FAIL. They have more pressing issues to deal with than blasting people for doing their job.I still consider myself a Raiders fan...barely. Don't know if i can keep that allegiance much longer.
DJ_1_Slick *Twitter* (Gifford, FL)
lol @ Jeremy
jay (10:39 AM)
nope. im not a hater.
DJ_1_Slick *Twitter* (Gifford, FL)
hey Jay and Dana, don't you want 2 see just a little more Mike Vick when the Eagles play?
jeff (ohio(bengalland))
marty was great. he had such bad breaks. the drive the fumble wow... only in ohio. we had the 49ers each time
tomwit nj [via mobile]
Let me tell a nice Cole Hamels tale. In 2003 my daughter was hit by a car at age 6 and was covered in scrapes and sitting in wheelchair at Lakewood Blueckaws stadium. Phils A team. She had a sharpie and all passing players signed her cast but Hamels. He pushed past her with a face like he smelled a dirty diaper. He made a little girl cry.
dana (10:41 AM)
tomwit not making excuses for a guy but ever had a bad day? ever gotten bad news and then had to walk past a bunch of people? that was 6 years ago...maybe he's matured..but be careful judging a complete person on one incident. sorry he made your daughter cry.
john (panama city bch, fl)
Jeremy, if he DIDN"T get through, it wasn't from a lack of trying. His INTENT was enough to prosecute. There is NO PLACE in sports (much less society) for people to try to maim each other!!!
Ryan Wooldridge (Wisccosin)
hey jay you sould bring on shaq on first take and have skip take him onj in a ball game live sometime!
GregP (cincinnati, OH)
i agree dana sometimes thats not whats on there mind and we cant judge them as fans based on one incident
Shaun (ohio)
i am a baseball fan but my fav team is the yankees (since birth) they still dont have a dominating pitching staff...with that said pettite needs to be huge and show that playoff grit, if he does that the yankees will win game 6 with ease
Kevin (Michigan)
I'm excited to see the Len Bias movie tonight..the 30 in 30 have been real good. I really liked the USFL and Gretzky movies
Scott (Phoenix)
Maybe the Phillies should hire that dad from the commercial with rocking out the sandals and white tube socks. He could possibly help his confidence. Seemed to work in the commericial
Tim C (Bakersfield,CA)
yeah JP, and last year Ole miss was just Ole miss. You never know with an opponent. Why don't everyone start looking at players ripping there helmets off, or when the running back dives for that extra yard, and the refs blowing the whistle, the defender is still pulling the player back while another player has his legs therefore folding the ball carrier in half
jeff (ohio(bengalland))
i love sports but we ask to much of the athelets. its just a autograph. means nothing, lets stop putting them on a pedastool
Andrew (CT)
No thats BS! even if he was having a bad day he could have took 2 sec to sign something for a fan...hes a loser for that
Umor (Detroit)
Tomwit, Hammels not in Brandon Inge league.
DJ_1_Slick *Twitter* (Gifford, FL)
imma Tampa Fan and i never did like the fact that Gruden just waltzed into the Super Bowl with a "Dungy Team" and won it, but i really enjoy what he brings to Monday Night Football. he always seems to see that much needed angle to make the NFL seem more intellectual than just brutes banging heads. very nice fit.
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
"Ginobli"!!!
Kevin (Michigan)
I'm surprised Ginobili didn't flop after hitting the bat
Steiny (NYC)
where is the grammar police today???
jeff (ohio(bengalland))
did the bat die
Roller (Kentucky)
Pedro is gonna pop A-Fraud again and A-Fraud isn't going to do anything cause he don't want Pedro putting the smack down on him in front of Kate!!
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
The Saints lose to the Patriots and Cowboys at home and on the road in Atlanta
OnTheFly (Oklahoma)
The raiders have always been a troubled team of sorts and will always be as long as the mad man is at the helm
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
lol..kevin
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
It's generally a series of 5-7+ shots for rabies.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Maybe the Browns can coax Rick Mirer out of retirement.
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
OOOOooo they clownd' you dana.
Nick (VA)
DANACATION!!!
Roller (Kentucky)
Ginobli is gonna have PETA after him if the bat died!!!!!
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
gruden is way better than the pti guy on mnf. that dude from pti was annoying as heck
Andrew (CT)
Roller you still here talking crazy? you sound stupid calling a-rod that...he is having a monster post season and everyone knows it
Shaun (ohio)
remember new york is pedros daddy, lol
jeff (ohio(bengalland))
dana make skip sit in the trunk...please
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
YES! Please bring a video camera...should be great TV.
Charlie (Philadelphia)
Great moment for Jeter last night. Loved seeing him ground into that double play to end the rally. I hope he stays cold like Teixiera and the Phillies bats stay hot.
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
Pick me up on the way DJ
Reischea (10:47 AM)
The bat flew away, so the couldn't test it. Hence, he and anyone who came into contact needed to get rabies vaccinations just in case.
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
im with you jemele..wow!
DJ_1_Slick *Twitter* (Gifford, FL)
Jay, so u have to be a hater just to want to see more PT 4 Vick? I'm lost...
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
Gruden had the Raiders playbook still in his head from year previous and inherited Dungy's stingy defense. When Raiders won their conference, the SuperBowl was all but won in my mind. In fact, that SB was over at halftime.
john (panama city bch, fl)
DJ Slick, in the post-game interview after the Super Bowl win , the FIRST thing Gruden did was to acknowledge Dungy's contribution. I thought it was pretty classy.
Reischea (10:48 AM)
I figure that bat probably felt punch drunk though after that swat.
Flemming (Copenhagen, Denmark)
Really, Roller? Still with the *A-fraud*? Really? How very grown-up.....
jay (10:48 AM)
nope, i was answering another post about do i hate the bengals are winning. sorry you got lost.
DJ_1_Slick *Twitter* (Gifford, FL)
sick of the ginobli-bat thing. ppl are so soft in the new millenium. must be all the air-conditioned lifestyle cuz ppl back in the day wouldnt have thought twice about "batting" the bat down. i'm hating the swine-flu generation.
mod (10:48 AM)
you guys are gonna like that show from the Coast Guard training center next wed.
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
Skip, VANDY is not feared anywhere!!
Charles J (Baton Rouge, LA)
the suspension for spikes is a joke
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Holiday-na Jacobson
jay (10:48 AM)
jason...brilliant...holiday-na jacobson! wow!!!
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
surprised pita aint raisin hell about him hitting the bat
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
That bat made out far better than that bird that Randy Johnson hit.
Jonathan (ATL)
Jemele is right. The punishment is a joke and what's even more stupid is the SEC endorsement of the punishment.
Reischea (10:49 AM)
You are a braver person than me, cuz no way would I try to swat at a bat. I can't even watch spiders and snakes on tv... my skin is crawling with the words alone.
mike (Atlanta)
to me woody paige was the best guy to go up against skip of all time
Kevin (Michigan)
Jay, are you worried that Michigan will beat Ohio State this season?
jay (10:49 AM)
nope. not even a little bit.
darryl (indiana)
WILL U GUYS BE TALKING ABOUT THE MIGUEL COTTO AND MANNY PACQUIAO FIGHT IN THE UPCOMING WEEKS?
Reischea (10:49 AM)
I remember when I saw that... my jaw straight dropped. That was unbelieveable.
jay (10:50 AM)
as it gets closer, for sure!
DAVID (Bowie,Md)
CAP MAY, IS COLD THIS TIME OF YR...DRESS WARM....
jay (10:50 AM)
love cape may! vacation there every summer with several of my MANY weeks of jay-caytion.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Jay should be a little concerned about his Buckeyes' match up this coming weekend. If PSU wins, that gives me bragging rights over 2/3 of our chat hosts.
DJ_1_Slick *Twitter* (Gifford, FL)
Off Day-na Jacobson and Ferris Crawford
jay (10:51 AM)
the only of the 3 im very nervous about is penn state. iowa = overrated!
dana (10:51 AM)
feel free to keep track at home next year and at the end of the year give me the finally tally on our off days. we just take them at different times and in different chunks.
Umor (Detroit)
Danacations are long weekends. Jaycations are Man when is he coming back this month.
Steven (O-H......)
BREAKING NEWS: Florida Linebacker Brandon Spikes was sent to bed early last night without dessert, as punishment for trying to blind someone.
Steven (O-H......)
but seriously i wonder if the SEC would have stepped in if someone had done this to Tim Tebow..
john (panama city bch, fl)
Dana, do you consider the "X-Games" a vacation? You sure seemed to have fun. Just curious so I'll know how to score it,lol
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
Bart Scott is a bit of a monster...I hope Jay got his rabies shots!!!
dana (10:55 AM)
talked to him in the green room. nice guy
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Come on, folks. It's the SEC, the most lenient conference in college football.
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
Urban Meyer just suspended Skip for a half (2 downs of 1st and ten)
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
Steven, Of course they would, if anything happened to posterboy
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
Dana is secretly entered in the X games much to Jay's dismay....the event.....the pen drop.
mike m (canton,oh)
bart scott isnt a monster hes a beast
Umor (Detroit)
That was sour grapes from bart scott after the game. He was angry the specail teams defence didn't stop ginn either time.
Bob (pa)
they would have stopped the presses if that would have happened to Tebow.
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
Let him play, then take back Urban Meyer's wins so he loses out on BCS championship.
OnTheFly (Oklahoma)
Steven pretty funning...
john (panama city bch, fl)
Steven, GREAT POINT!!!
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
barts a beast!!
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
congress would have called an emergency meeting if it happened tp tebow steven
Kevin (Michigan)
No, Brandon Spikes had to miss the first half of trick or treating for the eye gouge
Joe (NJ)
The sec baby's Florida. Any other player on any other team would have been suspended at least a game.
darryl (indiana)
I STILL THINK JETS R A PLAYOFF TEAM
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Actually the suspension wasn't for the eye gouge. It was for forgetting to say, "Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk," while he did it.
willie (topeka with my lady)
man if that had happened to tebow the sec the ncaa and the press wlda been all over the guy who did it to him
GregP (cincinnati, OH)
steven you know they would make it out to be a wrong doing from the player that was injured
joey (tx)
whose that guy talking about people being soft? The swine flu generation. He send that in on Twitter. Now thats soft.
Jason (VA)
what is wrong with the jets
Scott (Phoenix)
I can see why Bart Scott was mad. The Dolphins scored 21 points without the defense ever being on the field.
joey (tx)
Ya I heard Destination Truth was going after Bart.
Umor (Detroit)
Jet's a wildcard team.
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Leave Holiday-na alone, she's going on a whirlwind tour of throwing out first pitches for Winter Ball down south.
Bob (pa)
It must be no holds barred in the ncaa football.who runs the sec, vince mcmahon?
tomwit nj [via mobile]
Someone did try to gouge out Tebows eye. They broke their finger on it!
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
Oh, hot dog gate...still should've been a super pretzel with nacho cheese and/or mustard
DJ_1_Slick *Twitter* (Gifford, FL)
retaliation punch for taunting after a loss....gone for the season. (Oregon player in opening season game). almost blinding another player on a routine play.....half-game suspension (Florida player in a RIVALRY game). things that make you go....WHAT?!?!
john (panama city bch, fl)
Legarret Blount was TAUNTED (not making excuses) but Spikes tried to MAIM a kid!
jeff (ohio(bengalland))
bart keep saying what you feel...who cares what people think. you are the better team
stacy (ky)
we want pen drop....
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
well said bart.
Kevin (Michigan)
An eye gouge wouldn't effect Tebow....unless it is a Kryptonite finger
Mark (Alabama(Roll Tide))
throw a steak on the floor and RUN JAY
Steven (O-H......)
We'd have a congressional hearing, complete with finger pointing
Jonathan (ATL)
Dana, the shape of the bottle is a dead giveaway.....you're drinking a Diet Coke.
COLE (PHOENIX)
dana, put that diet coke away!!!!!you're gonna get suspended!!!
Roller (Kentucky)
I can't believe I'm not hearing a bunch of V. Young praising going on.
Kevin (Michigan)
don't spill it on the table
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
Come on dj
Steven (O-H......)
It's a Diet Coke.. i saw it, too late
mod (11:01 AM)
you guys are quick, bunch a sleuths in here
Seth (sc)
Clearly diet coke...
dana (11:02 AM)
seth you could tell??
DJ_1_Slick *Twitter* (Gifford, FL)
hey Dana...no crystal meth in that soda...rrriiiight?!? LOL
Seth (sc)
How absurd is Urban Myer with that suspension...doesn't he realize that he just gave Kiffen more ammo in the recruiting wars.
COLE (PHOENIX)
yes.....we are very quick
scott (niagara falls)
y should we praise vince young he only threw for 100 yards and beat the jags
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Who cares if Dana is drinking a Diet Coke? Van Pelt drinks the stuff by the case.
dana (11:02 AM)
no DJ unlike andre agassi I know what's in my diet coke
Mark (Alabama(Roll Tide))
Just like the real thing Dana
Mark (Tulsa)
If you people actually think that eye poking is the worst thing that goes on in a pile-up like that, then you have a lot to learn about football. That is mild and tame by comparison to other things. Wow.
mike m (canton,oh)
diet coke is nasty pepsi all the way dana
dana (11:03 AM)
mike sorry been a diet coke gal since college
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
OH, low blow dana. I still love me some Agassi
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
Grey label MOD=Diet Coke
dana (11:04 AM)
chris a, i do too...it was funny come on.
Reischea (11:04 AM)
Not necessarily... ever heard of Barq's rootbeer...
Reischea (11:05 AM)
You know, Mike Golic went off about those type of comments, saying it is not the norm and that it is completely unacceptable.
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
Yes Reis...love it but Dana wants no sugar...all Diet Coke since college.
Reischea (11:06 AM)
If I'm not mistaken, the Barq's diet label is grey.
jeff (ohio(bengalland))
reischea what about pike
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
look at his mechanics skip ball to low on passing he will get beat up in the nfl doesnt set his feet when he throws will be overwhelmed by nfl team speed in the secondary
scott (niagara falls)
golic rocks
Seth (sc)
Yeah ries....saw that and was proud of Golic there....seemed to be the first one to say that.
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
who listens to Golic?
Seth (sc)
Bart Scott is a fantastic interview...very little filter....love it.
Jonathan (ATL)
Bottle shape is Coke, gray label is Diet Coke...my girlfriend drinks the stuff introvenously
mike (Atlanta)
tebow has horrible mechanics. It will not translate. i would take lockler, classuen, mccoy, bradford all over tebow.
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
yeah i'll take colt mccoy.
DAVID (Bowie,Md)
it was funny,DJ....ha
Ty. New jersey [via mobile]
Nfc east is tight, the way it should be
matt (iowa)
Iowa plays the top three teams in the Big Ten from last years 2008 season on the road. Penn State, Arizona and Wisconsin are all rated in the BCS top 25 and have suffered defeat to the Hawkeyes. Overrated? I think not!
Steven (O-H......)
Tim Tebow will be selling insurance with Eric Crouch, Charlie Ward, and Andre Ware in a few years.. BOOK IT!
Joe (NJ)
Tony Dungy is wrong here...I wouldn't take Tim Tebow...Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy and the big surprise here i would take Tony Pike over Tebow as well..
DJ_1_Slick *Twitter* (Gifford, FL)
@Mark(Tulsa) youre right bout the pile, but the under part of the pile isnt caught ON CAMERA and broadcast NATIONWIDE for all to see! theres a difference. it isnt what you do, its what you do that gets seen that you get punished for...just ask (insert political figure's name HERE)
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
I bet $10 that someone punches Rex Ryan out on the field before his career is over.
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
I hope tebow rocks the nfl's world and all of the skeptics bow in shame, kinda like the Favre thing
scott (niagara falls)
golic is a very smart football man
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Sam Bradford is the best college QB prospect for the NFL.
mike m (canton,oh)
colt is to short to see over a nfl o-line
OnTheFly (Oklahoma)
Hayden ...Golic is a smart man....
Scott (Phoenix)
Tebow is a good college QB. Doesn't translate to the NFL at all. Look at the good you QB's in the NFL right now. All of them didn't play in spread systems in college. Matt Ryan, Sanchez and Flacco
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
HAHA I haven't had root beer in years...but I don't doubt you're right Reischea
Reischea (11:08 AM)
And I am mistaken, Barq's regular label is actually grey.
dana (11:08 AM)
agree seth
Bobby (Virginia)
Didn't Iowa need to block 2 FGs at the end of the Northern Iowa game to win in the first week of the season?
willie (topeka with my lady)
who shlda been fired jay?
darryl (indiana)
ME AND MY FRIENDS AT SCHOOL HAVE ARGUMENTS ABOUT TIM TEBOW I THINK HES OVERRATED AND WILL NOT DO ANYTHING IN THE NFL
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
Golic may be smart, but that doesnt mean I need to listen to him. I disagree with alot of sportscasters, all the time
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
Did someone just call Golic smart? Where's Greeny?!
Scott (Phoenix)
The most ready and complete quarterback in college right now is Jimmy Clauson. He plays in an NFL style offense right now and his mechanics are good.
mike m (canton,oh)
jemele is dead on mangini has to go
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
Sanchez was just trying to find his inner hot dog from the beginning of the season. Maybe he should have stayed with USC, they surely needed him against Oregon.
Umor (Detroit)
Hey Rex Ryan needs to be himself. Thats what got him here. Not his daddy name but his skills.
Kevin (Michigan)
I agree Hayden...hope Tebow does awesome! He is a class act
Steven (O-H......)
Jimmy Clauson looks about as good in the offense as Brady Quinn did
COLE (PHOENIX)
mike i agree i wish jemele would be on the show alot more.
Reischea (11:11 AM)
Unless Sanchez was switching it up to defense, it didn't matter who was running the offense. We couldn't stop anybody!
Kevin (Michigan)
USC didn't need Sanchez...they needed a defense
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Matt (Iowa): Can't deny that Iowa has beaten some good teams on the road but I think right now, Penn State is actually the best team in the Big Ten. They didn't play a great game against Iowa though and that's going to cost them a chance at the BCS title.
john (panama city bch, fl)
Chris A- Greeny's off...ironing his socks,lol
Seth (sc)
Ususally golic sides with the players so i was glad to see him go off on Spikes.
OnTheFly (Oklahoma)
Hayden which is good...think how boring sports would be if everybody agreed all the time...
Scott (Phoenix)
Dave if you watched that game you would realize it wasn't Barklyes fault. USC's Defense gave up over 300 yards on the ground and 47 points. But i forgot Barkley plays defense to.
COLE (PHOENIX)
and brady quinn hasn't done much
Roller (Kentucky)
Please don't start the Notre Dame talk, please!!!!!!
Seth (sc)
Rick mirer, brady quinn, jimmy claussen...enough said. (dont go joe montana on me either)
Chris A (Bella Vista, Arkansas)
I'm out FT! "John Ireland" to you guys!
Reischea (11:14 AM)
Yeah, but he's not just a sportscaster, he is a former NFL player. I kind of take what he says about the inner happenings of the game to heart. Then again, he's Notre Dame alum too....just kidding.
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
Mr Gouge just got unlucky that he was caught. He was obviously getting back at someone for some dirty play.
Kevin (Michigan)
depends who drafts Clausen...if he ends up in Cleveland or another bad organization he will be a bust..if he goes to a good organization he could be a good NFL quarterback
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I'd like to see either PSU v Alabama or PSU v Notre Dame in a BCS bowl game. I'd feel pretty good as a PSU fan that they COULD beat either one.
Bobby (Virginia)
A stable organization like Oakland should draft Clausen
Steven (O-H......)
Now that the Browns fired Koukinis, who will get Mangini's sandwhich orders everyday??
Seth (sc)
Legarit blount gets a year, dez bryant a year for a dinner, and this kid gets a half vs vandy? Absolutely embarassing.
COLE (PHOENIX)
ouchhh.nice one reischea!i like having kordell on the show......anyone else agree?
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Seth: How could you forget to mention Ron Powlus? Beano Cook, who I respect a great deal, had that kid winning MULTIPLE Heisman Trophies!
willie (topeka with my lady)
thats a big olb
tomwit nj [via mobile]
It looked to me as if Spikes was picking the guys nose. Thats just uncommon. Not mean.
Umor (Detroit)
The good is ted ginn running back the Kickoffs for two TD's
john (panama city bch, fl)
Hayden, that justify's it? Two wrongs make a right? If it happens "all the time" this is EXACTLY why it should be punished SEVERELY, as a deterrent.
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
Congratulations to Lanny Wadkins, Jose Maria Olazabal, Christy O'Connor Sr. and former President Eisenhower inducted to the World Golf Hall of Fame last night...Went to a very nice ceremony here in St. Augustine
Roller (Kentucky)
Cleveland needs to give the whole thing to Cowher.
Mark (Tulsa)
@DJ Slick Twitter -- agree, but i dont like people putting him in the same boat as Blounte. Clearly apples and oranges. He just happened to be the one guy to get caught out of probably about 6 others that were doing the same or similar things.
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
the thing I saw on a chat the other day was the dude who was gouged didnt even flinch! no blood, no foul
Bob (pa)
kevin(mich) odds are,he will end up at a bad orginization, all the good orginiztions have there qb's.
Steven (O-H......)
agreed seth, he could have seriously injured someone
Roller (Kentucky)
Didn't B. Cook pick ND to win it all?
mod (11:18 AM)
I think Lou Holtz did
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
cowher wont coach in the same division as the steelers
COLE (PHOENIX)
remember when Ohio State played the Gators in the BCS game a couple years ago when Ginn Jr ran the ball back first play and then mess up his leg? What happened against the Jets this week?I was waiting for the limp.
scott (niagara falls)
its good he can back kickoffs cause he cant catch
JP (Florida)
JB im tired of big 10 teams always getting those bcs bids and getting worked. its time they should give a second one to the pac 10, aka the conference tied for the #1 ranking in the computers
Seth (sc)
Two questionable moves by Myer this year...the rush back of Tebow vs LSU, and now the half suspension...lost a lot of respect for him this year.
Roller (Kentucky)
I don't agree, kick Kordell off the show!!
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Oakland is drafting Usain Bolt, not Claussen.
Scott (Phoenix)
Lou Holtz would pick Notre Dame to beat the Saints
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
If I were a Florida Gators fan, I'd be embarrassed today. Your coach has basically turned a blind eye (pun intended) to thuggery.
Steven (O-H......)
We get it Hayden, you really like Florida and Tim Tebow.
willie (topeka with my lady)
bad dunk
Scott (Phoenix)
I hate Notre Dame, but Clauson has more NFL potential then Tebow or McCoy. College Spread quarterbacks that run do not translate to NFL Qbs. Name me one that has panned out and been a good NFL QB?
john (panama city bch, fl)
tomwit....COMPLETELY unsanitary- what message are we sending our kids, lol
mike m (canton,oh)
roller no way cowher will come to the browns to many ties to the rooneys and pitt
Bobby (Virginia)
I hope players trying to blind other players for the rest of their lives doesn't happen all the time
DJ_1_Slick *Twitter* (Gifford, FL)
whatever happened to just PLAYING FOOTBALL?!?! leave all the eye gouging and cheap shots to the politicians!!
john (panama city bch, fl)
Hayden, no blood no foul? So you're saying that our tax dollars should be used to subsidize this violence- you can't ALWAYS give someone their vision back. What happens if he goes blind?
Mark (Alabama(Roll Tide))
usually in a pile like that "Things Are Grabbed and Pulled"
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
Spikes should be forced to wear two eye-patches on punts and kickoffs.
Umor (Detroit)
Don't throw a jump ball to Austin.
Chad (Las Vegas)
Who would get the biggest homer at ESPN awawd? Lou Holtz-Notre Dam, Kirk Herbstreit-OSU, Tim Graham-Big 12, or Jemelle Hill for her comments yesterday?
Bob (pa)
think cowher is waiting for a team in the south.so he can stay close to home
joey (tx)
McCoy is not a typical spread QB. You cant compare tebow to mccoy. Tebow cant thor McCoy can.
Roller (Kentucky)
Do you people really know what goes on in the pile up that doesn't get noticed?
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
The refs should be forced to watch the game film to see what else went on during the game
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
I was at the game this weekend, the ugly was Seattle Seahawks, Cowboys rolled!!
Seth (sc)
The safety by the intercepting ram going back into the endzone was pretty ugly as well guys.
Mark (Tulsa)
These comparisons that people are making are just insane.
Roller (Kentucky)
Wow, someone has worked in tax dollars and eye gouging in the same comment!!!
Umor (Detroit)
Cowher going to a NFC team, Down south, Carolina or maybe the Titans now that I think about it.
Kevin (Michigan)
If I were Cowher...I wouldn't leave the braodcast booth
DJ_1_Slick *Twitter* (Gifford, FL)
thats it....Austin is officially OFF my celebrity 3-on-3 fantasy B-Ball team. LOL
COLE (PHOENIX)
let's talk world series
Hook (Southern Maryland)
If you can't dunk on the field goal, shoot it like it is a 3 pointer. Just don't miss that.
willie (topeka with my lady)
thats true anyone who has played ball knows things happen in piles.
Scott (Phoenix)
Chad - I think you could throw Brent Musberger=OSU in there as well. I know he didn't go there but any time he does an Ohio St game he acts like Tressell can walk on water.
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
Tebow's dippy passes he throws on the run will get swatted by the D-line like Ginobli did to that bat.
Seth (sc)
Cower will coach again....the question is where?
Kevin (Michigan)
Mike Leach is great
darryl (indiana)
AT LEAST MY MAN MILES AUSTIN TRIED HE JUST DONT HAVE HOPS BUT AT LEAST HIS HANDS R GOOD
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
Cower + Dalllas = Championship
Scott (Phoenix)
How can you not love Mike Leach. One of the best sound bites in college football
Umor (Detroit)
Tebow will adjust to the NFL speed on D faster than most people think. He got the Body for the NFL right now.
joey (tx)
Ya who needs to jump when you are wide open?
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
greatest rant by a coach ever
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
"fat little girlfriends"
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
is baseball still going? wow
Steven (O-H......)
how can a girl be both fat and little??
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
The finger roll instead of the dunk on the crossbar is acceptable also.
Chad (Las Vegas)
Scott-That is because he is sucking up to Herbstreit. ESPN could have found someone better to fill Keith Jackson's shoes. Hard shoes to fill but Herby is too much a homer.
mike (Atlanta)
can we ask leach about his players fat little girlfriends. honestly if he had referred to my girlfriend that way we would of had a problem.
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
cowers gonna coach in london
Charlie (Philadelphia)
Hayden-- not for Cole Hamels, he quit after Saturday night
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
Mike low blow brother, my fat lil girlfriend wouldn't like me calling her that publicly. Oops!
Mark (Alabama(Roll Tide))
Cant wait til he's on a beer commercial
tomwit nj [via mobile]
JB he obviously couldnt see punishing him further.
OnTheFly (Oklahoma)
I see Leach's points but man calling the girlfiends fat... little too far. that's not cool.
Steven (O-H......)
I'll take "I'm a man i'm 40" anyday
john (panama city bch, fl)
Steven- length times girth over height, lol
mike (Atlanta)
uh...no sorry mike leach i had a big problem with it and i would like to hear if your players did.
joey (tx)
had a problem? He would say go find another team.
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
I like tubby little girlfriends better. The word fat isn't PC coach.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Chad: Throw Mark May in there too. Maybe not so much a Pitt homer but definitely a PSU hater. Guess he's mad that he couldn't play for Joe Pa.
mike (Atlanta)
steven that was easily the most random rant ever.
Steven (O-H......)
Leach saying that is like the Kettle calling the pot fat
Scott (Phoenix)
I agree Chad. You can't fill Keith Jackson's shoes. Greatest College football announcer ever.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
JP: You can't think that way. It's unfair to judge a team this year for what has happened in the past. I think Penn State matches up pretty well with both Alabama and Florida. They still have a long way to go this season but if the Lions go 11-1, they deserve a BCS bowl bid.
Roller (Kentucky)
Bottom line.....if you can't dunk don't try!!!!!!
Umor (Detroit)
Denny Green best rant ever.
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
Tebow is the 2nd best passer on his own team, Brantley's technique, arm strength and delivery is better....The Jags will still take him to sell tickets
Mark (Tulsa)
There must be something in the water in the SouthWest. All those Big 12 coaches say ridiculous crazy things. Except Mack Brown, he has no pulse. But Stoops, Leach, Gundy, Mangino..
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
I really don't see how it helps recruiting by repeating those comments over and over. After all college football is ALL about recruiting.
DAVID (Bowie,Md)
ONTHEFLY,sure ur rite...
Kevin (Michigan)
people are too sensitive
Roller (Kentucky)
I'll take "I'm ready for the season to be over" by Hamels.
Chad (Las Vegas)
Cower + Jerry Jones = EXPLOSION.
Bobby (Virginia)
Penn State struggled in the Rose Bowl last year because USC's defense was the greatest of all time
Bob (pa)
whoa!!!!!!!!! nelly, let me tell ya about keith jackson
Daniel (Van Horn Tx.)
"They are who we thought they were" the girlfriends I mean just kidding!
Umor (Detroit)
PHAT girlfriend is exceptable also.
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
cory coach jerry cant keep from medling
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
I see Tebow in a Frank Wycheck type role in the NFL.
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
If Cowher worked for Jerry Jones we have a scene from Last Boy Scout.
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
Will any team come within 14 points of challeging UT this year, doubtfully. They should be ranked number 1.
Scott (Phoenix)
Yeah the Jags will take a huge mistake and take Tebow. Then in 5 years be relocated to Los Angeles because they can't afford to have a team anymore because they stink
DJ_1_Slick *Twitter* (Gifford, FL)
tubby = soft language. fat is FAT. so Dave...i guess u dont have Toilet paper in your house, u got "Bathroom Tissue" right? planes dont CRASH in your world....they have "Water Landings" right?!?! PC people scare me.
Steven (O-H......)
I'll take "i'm retiring" by Skip Bayless... not that he said it yet, but i'll take it.
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
what does leachs comment say about texas tech players taste in women?
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
another good answer!
Bobby (Virginia)
Texas DID struggle vs Colorado this year
john (panama city bch, fl)
Shoudn't it be...."tubby l'il girlfriends/boyfriends"?
joey (tx)
He hasnt meddled this year.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Keith Jackson with Frank Broyles covering Nebraska v Oklahoma. If you didn't enjoy watching that, you don't like college football.
THE_REAL_FAN ((TWITTER))
mod, there is some Colts coverage. The chatroom can calm down.
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
good answer antwion!
Roller (Kentucky)
I'll be glad when Philly puts the smack down on the Cowboys so I don't have to hear anymore about how Romo is playing so great.
willie (topeka with my lady)
maybe he was saying phat which is why the players r cool with it
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
coach jerry would not let coach cower do his thing
john (panama city bch, fl)
Who HONESTLY thinks Bill Cowher would allow himself to be a "puppet" for Jerry Jones?
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
BengalBill, he actually has done a nice job of staying out of the way this year. We definitly need a GM not a Jerry-M.
joey (tx)
Wheres Drew Bennett? Vince Young sure looked good Sunday.
Matthias the Peevish (York, PA)
Colts are strolling into the playoffs .... and then strolling out of the playoffs in their first game. Would love to see them in the superbowl though, just to see Manning on the big stage again
Umor (Detroit)
Jerry Jones wants a coach he can control, And that anit Cower, or Jeff Fisher.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Our chat hosts are conspicuously absent. Guess they are just going to let us fly.
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
Antwion!
Kevin (Michigan)
Fisher will coach in college
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
good pass joe
Kevin (Michigan)
Romo is playing well to try and get another celebrity girlfriend
Bob (pa)
jerry and cowher, the biggest screen in football, and the biggest grill (teeth) in football. It just might work?
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Well fun as this has been, time for me to depart for today. Thanks to everyone for chatting with me today. Have a great day, get out and vote, and see you back here tomorrow. Peace.
Chad (Las Vegas)
I really hope we get an 18-0 New Orleans vs an 18-0 Indy in the Super Bowl. Mercury Morris would go NUTS.
Kevin (Michigan)
the niners chances are high because they play in the NFC west
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
For a ring Jerry will back off for 1 season if he gets one of the big fish out there to be his next coach. Wade's only chance of returning is goin to the Super Bowl.
Jermaine (Charlotte)
Skip, Tony Romo looks good but the problem is he always looks good in October. And about those 3 running backs that make them better than the Eagles. Weren't they playing when the Cowboys got destroyed in the last game of the season last year?
john (panama city bch, fl)
Singletary needs them to attack that hill again....they've got BIGGER hills to scale to make the play-offs!
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
Colts first step is to get homefield advantage throughout the playoffs...because they are going to have to handle Ravens, Steelers, Patriots, or Broncos at some time, and that will be tough...I'm pulling for them
Hook (Southern Maryland)
Forgot today was Election Day. There is nothing to vote for in MD.
DAVID (Bowie,Md)
umor,depends on your kool-aid...lol
Steven (O-H......)
Patrick Willis is a monster, I may go as him next year for halloween.
DJ_1_Slick *Twitter* (Gifford, FL)
which would win....Cowher's strong jaw-line, or Jerry Jones strong credit-line?
mike m (canton,oh)
a.i should stand for always illrelevant for the rest of his career
john (panama city bch, fl)
J.B.- it ain't election day here,lol
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
P. Willis is a beast!
Umor (Detroit)
See ya. Have a great day.
Bobby (Virginia)
Jermaine, not all of them
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
Singletary is my kind of coach. His intensity is matched only by his knowledge of the game.
Bob (pa)
not a niners fan,but kudos to singletary. If you don't believe you can make the playoffs, than you won't
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
When does singletary snapp and tackle someone on the sidelines
tomwit nj [via mobile]
Singletary is a mans man. He could probably beat ME up.
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
Is anyone else disappointed that Owen Daniels is out for the season. A injury that the Texans won't be able to over come, and unfortinutly will miss postseason because of it. Sorry Texans fans.
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Haha, nice plug for Ubisoft.
Steven (O-H......)
We get to vote on a Casino.. i'm voting yes, my bank account is voting no.
Ty. New jersey [via mobile]
Cowboys 24 eagles 9
Tyler (Iowa)
Does going 9-0 with the second longest winning streak not mean a dang thing anymore? Colin Cowherd doesnt seem to think so...Go Hawkeyes
Bobby (Virginia)
Mike Singletary could beat Tim Tebow up
willie (topeka with my lady)
where can i get an intern job like that? espn? im here
dana (11:43 AM)
hugely disappointed about owen daniels actually.
scott (niagara falls)
me too dana hes on my fantasy team
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
I would intern at First Take and keep Dana supplied with Diet Coke and Jay with pens.
mike m (canton,oh)
ubisoft makes some pretty good games
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
YOU MY BOY TY!!!
JP (Florida)
tyler, iowa is a pretty good team, and this gets over looked. they have a harder strength of schedule than all the other teams in the bcs top 10 except oregon and georgia tech
Mark (Tulsa)
Iowa winning 9 in a row does not mean anything when you barely beat average to bad teams and live in the Big Ten. Wait till they play against the SEC or Big 12 and get blasted by 3 touchdowns.
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
Cory, Daniels out for season hurts but it helps Kevin Walter's chances of getting some looks from Schaub.....finally.
john (panama city bch, fl)
TY...I'll take $20 on that action!!!
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
BengalBill, he does look like he can suit up and play, at least the 1st 2 downs. He would still strike fear into me if i was a qb.
tomwit nj [via mobile]
I see Tebow as a Crash Jensen type. The exDolphin.
joey (tx)
Anybody else love Law and Order Svu marathons?
Chad (Las Vegas)
Sorry Cowboys you beat up on ATL and SEA the past 2 weeks. Mediocre teams. Philly puts you back in your place this weekend.
DJ_1_Slick *not PC at all* (Florida)
shameless Ubisoft plug
Scott (Colorado Springs)
OMG! Patrick Willis is wearing a Yankees hat, what are we going to do?
scott (niagara falls)
thank god i picked up brent celek
JP (Florida)
Mark, Iowa has played a tougher schedule so far (22nd) than most SEC teams
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
Cowboys will not put up 30 points on Philly's defense. I predict Romo gets picked at least twice.
woodsie (NH)
Hope that things has good brakes
mike m (canton,oh)
skip should go off on willis if that was lbj with a yankees hat hed be goin nuts
mike m (canton,oh)
mod i thought this was a sports chat not a tv series chat..c,mon and get it together mod
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
Chad, this is the week to put up or shut up no doubt about that. But with revenge on their minds, Cowboys ROLL!!
Bobby (Virginia)
How come when the Cowboys beat a team, they become mediocre?
COLE (PHOENIX)
i would like to see tebow play for the niners....agree dana?
Chad (Las Vegas)
My money, literally, is on Philly.
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
Romo's streak may end but the Cowboy's wont
Mark (Tulsa)
Do you think if Iowa was playing a REAL team last weekend that they would win with 5 interceptions? No, of course not. But they were playing Indiana, so they win by twenty. Unreal.
mike (Atlanta)
to me ray lewis is the best linebacker of all time but if he was ever going to be second to anyone it would be mike singletary.
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
The cowboys are the most mediocre team that every one keeps talking about like they were undfeated c'mon man
john (panama city bch, fl)
Chad- Atl. MEDIOCRE? They gave the Saints their best game yet!! Philly STILL can't decide how to use Vick in mid-season!
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Steelers 21 Broncos 17
JP (Florida)
I never said that they would, I am just saying, look at the SOS before you spout off that they havent played anybody.
Bobby (Virginia)
Iowa may have the most impressive win of the season, going into Happy Valley Whiteout and winning
scott (niagara falls)
the cowboys havent beaten anyone good thats why
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
Mike, what about Ken Norton Jr, the only player ever to win 3 consecutive rings, 92, 93, 94. He was a big reason those D's were in the top 3 each season.
Mark (Tulsa)
Strength of Schedule? Please. They have exactly ONE quality one, and that was against a vulnerable and shaky Penn State team. I am looking right at the schedule as I type.
Chad (Las Vegas)
I said this yesterday. ATL will finish the season 9-7. ATL vs NO is a rivalry game. ATL has secondary issues that will show in a few weeks. They have a couple of cupcakes then their schedule gets a bit tougher.
COLE (PHOENIX)
steelers 14broncos 13
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
best games this weekend are as follows BENGALS RAVENS STEELERS BRONCOS
mike m (canton,oh)
mike atl ray lewis is a great lb but imo lawernce taylor was the best lb of all time
DAVID (Bowie,Md)
Mike/L. TAYLOR made the position...
john (panama city bch, fl)
Jason that's not a bad prognostication, BUT it MAY wind up with the numbers reversed.
Jonathan (ATL)
Hey Dana, do the 1/2 marathon. Trust me, you'll hate the journey but absolutely love the accomplishment.
Tyler (Iowa)
Every team has its bad days, wait until we beat ohio state and go undefeated and listening to colin on the herd pisses me off because i know stanzi is only consistant in interceptions but we have a great defense
COLE (PHOENIX)
dana do the 1/2 marathon!!!!!
tomwit nj [via mobile]
I grabbed Celek and then Vernon Davis . Now I look like a prophet for trading Daniels for Thomas Jones.
COLE (PHOENIX)
dana do the 1/2 marathon!!!!!!!
Cory (Lake Jackson, TX)
So alanta's not good, they almost beat New O last night. In my eyes thats a measuring stick.
DJ_1_Slick *DJ is my job* (Florida)
Dana is like the DREAM CHICK. beautiful AND into sports!
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
everyone, have a great day!!!
Dave (Tallahassee, FL)
Mike Singletary can win a stare contest against anyone. I remember his NFL playing days was those eyes of his glaring out from under his helmet.
COLE (PHOENIX)
dana.......do the 1/2 marathonn
dana (11:54 AM)
i know...it's been a long running thing for me. trained for a marathon back in 2001 but i broke my foot and couldn't continue. so i've toyed with the half for a long time.
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
Dana, Run your half marathon with diet coke as your sponsor...we'll contact People Magazine!
Reischea (11:55 AM)
Have a great day everyone. Talk to ya' tomorrow.
dana (11:55 AM)
good idea caddy mike
Val (Burleson, TX)
CUDOS to you for highlighting an athlete w/ a disability as, an athlete who, so happens has a disability...nice
dana (11:56 AM)
man val, made me feel lazy. ill tell you that!
dana (12:14 PM)
talk to you folks tomorrow.
