No a salary cap doesn't guarantee anything EXCEPT, other teams get a fair shot at some of the more talented players on the market. Few teams can afford to do what is the norm for the Yankees. Now, the second part of what you said matters more than anything even with a cap, be smart with the money you are spending, know the talent you are bringing in.

Even with a cap don't you think players are more likely to choose the big markets over the small ones? Endorsement deals are better for big market teams and there is a lot to be said for location. Like, "Hmm do I want to spend my summer in Kansas City or New York City?" Many more would choose the latter over the former, especially if they are married.

This Disease is one that is not studied by enough physicians and Doctors or more reactive than proactive. i dont blame the yankees for exploiting the system. but they are breaking a rule by exceeding the set spending limit and they pay a heavy luxury tax for it. see thats part of baseballs dirty litle secret. they overspend, then pay the price, baseball takes advantage of the yankee greed and the league gets rich too. it is not the yankees fault they have more money than everyone else and spend it so freely. good for them. it is baseballs fault they have fostered such a ridiculously uneven playing field. any and all competitions should be waged on a fair and balanced stage. baseball is not.
