Brandon (State College, PA)
If you ever get tired of objective reporting watch Skip.
dana (10:11 AM)
brandon, skip is reporting, he's being a commentator which means opinion. As far as I know opinion always is subjective in some way.
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
I knew it...Excuses for Cutler...I knew it...I'm sure all 17 picks this year were someone elses fault
mendy (okla.)
Skip what I saw last night was cutler forgetting what team he was throwing to.
Reischea (10:12 AM)
Happy Friday everyone. As I've said in the past, if today is not your Friday, my apologies. But keep your head up... your weekend surely is nearing!
dana (10:12 AM)
mendy i agree with skip that 2 of those picks were on him BUT i disagree that he was under major pressure. his line isn't good but he takes some of this blame. he does need more around him
Daniel (Kentucky)
my colts are fixin to gunsmoke them pats
Mike (Syracuse, NY)
What's up Dana!
dana (10:13 AM)
hey mike
Loopy (usa)
I wonder how many Gator fans are glad that Nu'Keese Richardson didn't sign with them now. My friend was ecstatic.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Cutler's favorite pastry: The turnover.
john (panama city bch, fl)
LMAO- Varejao sent a message last night- go with what you know... he shoulda "FLOPPED"
Umor (Detroit)
I agree with kenny smith, you double team the stars of the other team. Lebron and Wade gonna get their points. Double team them and let the other players beat ya.
Bag On Skins Fans Head (Wilmington NC)
My heart is rooting for the Colts, but my head thinks the Pats will prevail
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
Skip will be resigning from First take to take the job of Jay Cutler's Public Relations specialist...With Cutler's big contract he can afford to keep him in Mountain Dew
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
Colts all!!
Chris (Boston)
Cutler was running for his life last night. Just b/c he didn't have any sacks on him doesn't mean there wasn't any pressure.
mendy (okla.)
Jay love the jazzy tie.
Champ (Bmore)
Hey Reischea ;)
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
mornin everyone big weekend for cincy football
Africa (Brooklyn)
Ok, I kno people like the Pats-Colts games but considering they are not in the same division, why have they played each other 7 straight years?
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
jb now thats funny
mike (Atlanta)
after watching that first and 10 i feel kind of sick. More excuses for skips boy. i don't care if there were somone else fault. Bottom line he's the first Bears QB since 1962 to throw 4+ ints in 2 games in 1 season.
Brandon (State College, PA)
I understand just sometimes I feel like he's becoming a caricature of himself.
Bernard (Augusta, Ga) [via mobile]
Does Skip still think the Suns are better than the Lakers? And if Cutler look for more than Olsen maybe he could have had a TD to go with all those picks.
Bag On Skins Fans Head (Wilmington NC)
Skip is the kind of guy viewers love to hate. This show would not be as good without Skip
Scott (Colorado Springs)
First Take, I didn't want to do this, but I have called The Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus and they are sending their second string circus Monkey to replace Skip Bayless and the third string to take over for Jay Cutler. When somone does well you rip them and when someone sucks it up you defend them? Shock Value just like Chad said.
Mark (Ann Arbor)
Dana - we all know Skip loves Cutler. No matter what happened last night he was going to make excuses for him. He has always done it with him. Do you think if ELI manning had thrown 5 INT's Skip would have defended it?
Brian (Naples,fl)
Mendy- a few of his pics were his receivers fault
scott (niagara falls)
cutler is a joke
Brian (Naples,fl)
Cutler is a good QB, but he has to stop being self absorbed, and get a better o-line.
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Skip will defend anyone from Vandy down to the last breath.
Chris (Boston)
Is Skip on crack? Man, calm down a little and take a breath.
Africa (Brooklyn)
Ok, can some1 tell me what happened with the chat?
colin (clifton park)
so skip says peyton manning overrated lebron james overrated, but cutlers performance rating a b+ on the yr. but last nights 5 ints not his fault. oh yeah matt forte had 40 yds rushing how about the 120 yds receiving. come on skip
Brian (SoCal)
Please Skip. Stop enabling Cutler. He needs to protect the opportunity to win the game and not throw that ball up for grabs when they had one more chance.
scott (niagara falls)
i guess my lakers brought the suns back to earth last night
Isaac Castro (Salinas, CA)
So much for Skip's B+ for Jay Cutler....
Dylan O. (Virginia)
Okay well LeBron and Wade I think will be on a team together. And possibly Bosh. If so say goodbye to the rest of the NBA for a couple of years. Aren't I right. No one can even play with them if they do it.
mendy (okla.)
Goooood morning!!! I bet there is a lot denver fans that were totally upset 10 weeks ago but are like'in life these days.
Reischea (10:16 AM)
How ya' doin' Champ (Bmore).
T.I. (Baltimore Md)
Chicago will not go any were with cutler he stinks so bad i could smell it when he was in Denver
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Jean-Jacques is a good analyst!
EmBEARSment (Chicago)
By DA BEARS giving up too much for Jay Cutler is Lovie Smith job on the line
Ben (Miami)
What's your take on the Pacquiao and Cotto ? Who is Skip picking in this fight ?
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
It's Friday the 13th....Jason would be a better QB than Jay Cutler
Brian (SoCal)
Lakers pounded Suns last night. Fans only upset because they didn't get their free tacos.
Deric (Belle Center OH)
Wished I would've played SanFran's defense last night in my fantasy leauge
mari (ok)
mornin guys...big weekend...gonna be good...go pats
Umor (Detroit)
MQF, Damnit Janet, Cutler threw another interception.
Ray (Arlington, VA)
Cutler gets a B+ from Skip. 'Nuff said.
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
Skip must have been up all night to make his excuses for Cutler
Nathan Nevins (Gainesville, Fl)
Can we stop talking about TCU? Their best win is at clemson??? is that a joke?
Chris (Boston)
Dana just mentioned this, but as soon as I heard LeBron say that he was going to switch jersey numbers my first thought was...the NBA is loving this next year with ticket sales$$
Rhino (Springfield)
Ease up on Skip, he's right, Cutler doesn't have an offensive to worth so like the great ones he spreads the ball around, and last night he went to 7 different WR and 5 diff Defensemen, that's spreading the ball around!
Chris (Boston)
My favorite # 13 is Dan Marino
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
d wades' dunk was sick last night!!
Daniel (Kentucky)
nice segway dana lol
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
That last post from Scott looks like the same one from yesterday.
THE_REAL_FAN ((TWITTER))
Bengals/Steelers - it is going to be a great game at Heinz Field. This game will prove if the Bengals are a contender.
Africa (Brooklyn)
Thank you Mark. He has his favorites
THE_REAL_FAN ((TWITTER))
Caddy, I hope you are not talking about Jason Campbell. With Campbell has quarterback, we are backtracking to Halloween.
mike (Atlanta)
you wanna know why cutler was running for his life last night. He was holding on to that ball too long. Brett farve gets the ball out in less than 4 seconds. Thats what you have to do.
Young Yellaboi (ATLANTA,GA)
CUTLER LOOKED CRAPPE!
Brian (Naples,fl)
Ben-Pacquiao will dominate as always
Champ (Bmore)
Colts will lose simply because they don't run the ball enough.
scott (niagara falls)
we want woody
Guy (Jacksonville)
I would like to see some love from Skip and all the Cav's Lebron/Shaq haters, after spanking Orlando and Miami!
Mark (Ann Arbor)
LOL Caddie Mike - Its true
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
The Steelers are playing the best all around football in the NFL right now.
Chris (Boston)
Varejo got POSTERIZED last night!!
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
skip will eat his words monday morning!!!
Africa (Brooklyn)
No team can afford LeBron and D-Wade unless one takes a severe paycut. The salary cap is too low.
Mike (Toronto)
Hi Dana,I have another nickname for Kobe, "postmaster". What do you think?
john (panama city bch, fl)
I prefer Skip's commentary to Jesse Palmer's!!!
Daniel (Kentucky)
jacques stick to reporting on your cowboys don't sleep on them colts
scott (niagara falls)
somebody tell that dude the colts and pats arent even. colts are 8-0
Fred Flintstone (Bedrock)
Skip you need to get more sleep you grump old grouch.
Bag On Skins Fans Head (Wilmington NC)
Dana thanks for the Props!
Mark (Alabama)
Jay you think my Crimson Tide will stumble against Miss StateGood Morning
stacy (georgetown)
hey danaandnjay how are you today?
T.I. (Baltimore Md)
i know it early but lets get it right in the booth
Mark (Ann Arbor)
THe Bears offense is not that good. But Cutlers decision making is not good. The INT he threw on the goal line in the 2nd quarter is inexcusible.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Jay Cutler's favorite lottery game: Pick Five.
mike (Atlanta)
like reggie miller said last night varejao got his feelings hurt last night.
Daniel (Kentucky)
colts will win because they are the best team in football
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
hey bengalbill ocho said he was gonna give the steelers some ketchup..lol
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
When the season started who honestly thought that Brett Favre was going to be the best QB in the NFC North?
Young Yellaboi (ATLANTA,GA)
Y DIDNT THEY FINE DEANGELO HALL?
Champ (Bmore)
Hey Colin! That was the most bizarre statement so far today.....But that's Skip being Skip lol
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
absolutely they will beat the steelers
Pimp D (O-Town)
As soon as Culter hike the ball, a 49'er was in the backfeild
scott (niagara falls)
can my bills beat the titans this week dana
Dylan (Alaska)
not looking so good for lane kiffins first round of recruiting...
Isaac Castro (Salinas, CA)
I wish Skip was my professor...I'd be getting a B+ for everything I turned in...as long as my last name was Cutler.
john (panama city bch, fl)
Morning Mod, dana- crew and gang!
tomwit nj [via mobile]
Cutler is just not a great quarterback.
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
I can't wait to see what Skip says about his boy Cutler during 1st and 10
mike m (canton oh)
jj hickson looked pretty good last night.i hope he can keep it up,he will be a big boost for the cavs
mari (ok)
seems that winning coach of the year is a bit of a curse....9 games in is a lil early
Dylan (Virginia.)
What about the Cavs. Are they playing they will the rest of the season?
Champ (Bmore)
I'm great Reischea. Thanks for asking. I'll be much better when my co-worker comes back with my Caramel Macchiato :)
john (panama city bch, fl)
I think J.B. stayed up all nite-lol
Rick (Pittsburgh)
People hate skip because skip speaks the truth flat out
THE_REAL_FAN ((TWITTER))
I am shocked that Bryon Scott got fired so early in the season. The Hornets have not even played 10 games.
Daniel (Kentucky)
who cares about cutler or the bears they're insignifigant
Guy (Jacksonville)
Chicago should have kept Orton. Well at least he will get to go to the playoffs.
Brian (SoCal)
It's never Cutlers fault right. Vandy wasn't good, Broncos weren't good. Bears were good now that Cutler is there now they're no good too. Seems like a trend.
Reischea (10:20 AM)
What's even more sweet about that D-Wade jam... the fact that Varejao's hand was literally on his face and still couldn't deter the destiny.
MSimmer (Tempe, AZ)
Bet cutler wishes he was back in Denver where they have real recievers
Chris (Boston)
Dana, did Bag On Skins Fans Head bribe you with a cyber $1 to get that on the air???
Mark (Alabama)
Dana you like Mark Ingram for the Heisman so far ?
stacy (georgetown)
who wins on sunday dana?dallas or philly?
Brian A. (Naples,fl)
Wade is a beast...
dana (10:21 AM)
cant find the post now but i do know that just b/c it wasn't a high number of sacks doesn't mean cutler wasn't under pressure, i thought he had more time to throw than i've seen in previous games. unlike skip i don't watch every second of every game so i'm going off what i have seen previously. if you've seen all of the previous bears games in their entirety you'd know better than i
dana (10:22 AM)
scott - possible yes. these 2 teams are such inconsistent, uncertain question marks. does that make sense? neither has an identity. based on momentum alone i'd give the titans the nod..but no gage is troublesome
Loopy (usa)
I shouldn't be surprised that Chad got fined. No Fun League strikes again.
dana (10:22 AM)
loopy he knows he's going to get fined when he does it, he does it anyway. that's cool...because otherwise it would be the no fun league.
Isaac Castro (Salinas, CA)
Aaron Rodgers knows about sacks...not sure about Cutler
Champ (Bmore)
0 sacks last night Dana. Cutler just stink! Tell Skip I said so lol
Brian (SoCal)
Cavs find two good road wins. Maybe you have some hope Jay.
ryan (maine)
I just have to say hey Skip....go look at the tape of that game in the 99 playoffs with the Vikings, Rams!! The Vikes never had a prayer and it was NOT even close.....Know your stats before you talk!!!
dana (10:23 AM)
isaac, yes he does.
Umor (Detroit)
Resci, That was a L.A. game in Miami. The stars came out for LeBron to come to the Heat.
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
anyone watch rutgers wipe out south florida? that surprised me
THE_REAL_FAN ((TWITTER))
The Cavs started horrible last season.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Actually all of these came to me this morning. Cutler makes it too easy to pick on him. Oh did I just mention 'Cutler' and 'pick' in the same sentence? Scary.
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
My Lakers looked tough last night...love watching Derek Fisher play...a true champion
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
how much did chad get fined did not hear that
Champ (Bmore)
Ochocinco got fined?
Trevor (Clinton Township, MI)
Only Skip Bayless would attempt to justify/downplay a 5 INT performance as not that bad/not the QB's fault.
jason007thomas (Huntsville,Al)
good morning everybody and happy football friday
Champ (Bmore)
I still think Melo's dunk over Millsap was better than DWade's. Not taking anything away from "Flash" though
Bernard (Augusta, Ga) [via mobile]
GUY-Lets see if they can beat L.A. Which I seriously doubt.
MSimmer (Tempe, AZ)
Mark Ingram has got to be the favorite hands down to win
Fred Flintstone (Bedrock)
Mark Ingram for the Heisman would be awesome as long as its not the ever so great Tim Tebow. He is no good just look at his numbers
Pimp D (O-Town)
Varejao needs to pick a building cause he has been posterize
Young Yellaboi (ATLANTA,GA)
DALLAS BEATS GREEN BAY 24 -10
Guy (Jacksonville)
Come-on Wade should have been called for a foulf on V>
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
Not Jason Campbell, REAL FAN, Jason Voorhess from the Friday the 13th movies
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
good one reisch.
john (panama city bch, fl)
stacy...yes
Mark (Ann Arbor)
Rick - How much Kool Aid have you drank this morning?
Ray (Arlington, VA)
Byron Scott is a classic victim of a superstar's wishes getting a coach booted. CP3 got Byron canned. Too bad for the Hornets...
john (panama city bch, fl)
dana, I'm impressed with your admission. I STILL think that you're one of the best informed ppl at ESPN. Enuf luv- I STILL disagree w/ you occasionally, lol
quentin (Hayward ,Ca)
Cutler is a great Qb with help skip was right about everything he said about culter!! just need ahole lot help.
Mark (Ann Arbor)
Ryan - your right. The Rams hammered the Vikings in that divisional playoff game.
Umor (Detroit)
Byron Scott shouldn't have been fired. Way too early in the season. He can turn teams around. He's done it before.
T.I. (Baltimore Md)
whats good Dana
THE_REAL_FAN ((TWITTER))
The NFL knows how to turn a $1 into $20G. Chad, thank God you didn't have a C-Note.
Brian (SoCal)
How did Chad get fined for a joke and D. hall didn't when he was involved in that big sideline jawjack?
Bag On Skins Fans Head (Wilmington NC)
Cleveland needed a few games to gel. Having Shaq inside is a different game than they have been playing, now they are getting it together
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
AI for delonte
Rajesh (Atlanta)
I don't know that it is just because it is a contract year, because these guys always seem to play hard. But man, D. Wade, Bron, and Chris Bosh are playing some high quality ball.
Reischea (10:25 AM)
What surprised you about it... fourth straight time Rutgers has beaten South Florida. Last year it was 49-16.
Guy (Jacksonville)
Yes the Cavs will beat the Lakers on Cristmas-day.
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
I guess Lebron doesn't have any respect for Bill Russell since he's wearing #6 ;-)
mike m (canton oh)
james should change his #.the true 23 is mj
Trevor (Clinton Township, MI)
Add Byron Scott to the "Coaches I wish the Pistons had" list
Abel (Oxnard, CA)
how did you guys talk about the western conference and not talk about the lakers?
Mark (Alabama)
Dana who you got on your wish list for the Detroit Lions
Champ (Bmore)
Hey Ray. I was thinking the same thing because nothing else justifies his firing 9 games into the season
Pimp D (O-Town)
What about the Assitant Coach who gave Ochocinco the dollar, he should be fines too
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
My Mountaineers can't beat South Florida, South Florida can't beat Rutgers, Rutgers can't beat the Mountaineers...
jason007thomas (Huntsville,Al)
Cutler just needs an actual receiver, not an experimental #1
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
its no wonder why chad buys his bling at claires he has to save money for godells vaction home
Rick (Pittsburgh)
Why do people worry about the NBA its the most overated pro sport there is
Roller (Kentucky)
C. Paul is the most overrated player in the league
willie (topeka basement)
and thaat dunk was sick
Pimp D (O-Town)
Rajesh....don't forget Joe Johnson on that list
Champ (Bmore)
South Florida was soooo overrated this year
jamie krieg (dayton ohio)
BENGALS WILL WIN IM REALLY CONFIDENT. THE STEELER FANS ARE JUST soooo scared.
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
Hey if i knew MJ was in the stands watching me i'd go off too!!!
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
D WADE with the posterization !!
Kevin (OH)
Rajesh, it isn't just a contract year...it is THE contract year
willie (topeka basement)
varejo was so hurt
Young Yellaboi (ATLANTA,GA)
WHO'S GON BE ABLAE TO SIGN LEBRON AND D.WADE IF IT HAPPENS DANA?
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
reis thought south florida offense to much for rutgers d
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
Morning Dana
Ty. New jersey [via mobile]
Would take wade over lebron
Demetric (Orlando)
Skip, has a point, Leborn might be buddies with, Wade, but he did his teammate wrong and if he wants a title now, he would need Varioyao on the same page
Rajesh (Atlanta)
It seems like just yesterday when the Hornets signed James Posey that everyone said that might be their piece to the championship puzzle...what a turn around for the worse.
Rick (Pittsburgh)
id take wade over anybody and woody paige needs to come back full time
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I think it's fine that LeBron wants to pay tribute to MJ but there is no reason no one should ever wear #23 in the NBA again. LeBron called MJ a pioneer. Really? What did he pioneer in basketball?
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Lebron cares more about being one of the "cool kids" than taking up for his teammate.
Manny (Harrisburg Pa)
Wades is a beast
mike (Atlanta)
of course. OF COURSE. a question about dwayne wade and skip goes right the the bashing of lebron james. Gonna mute my TV real quick.
willie (topeka basement)
miami has cap room
scott (niagara falls)
the steelers are going to wax the bengals
MSimmer (Tempe, AZ)
hey ryan(maine) that game was a complete shoot out both qbs were throwing the ball all over the field george had 4 tds with 1 pick while warner had 5 tds and 1 pick pretty much the def of shoot out
Guy (Jacksonville)
Wade should get best foul not-called of the week.
THE_REAL_FAN ((TWITTER))
Skip loves to throw some shots at LeBron. I thought the topic was on Dwayne Wade.
Chris (Boston)
Ochocinco got fined b/c he used the word "bribe" not b/c of the act on the field. So they say.
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
reis but thats big east football you know what a terrible conference they are lol
Brian (SoCal)
gimme Kobe over wade or bron-bron.
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
ha dana good segway...
mike (Atlanta)
THE QUESTION IS NOT ABOUT MICHAEL JORDAN OR LEBRON JAMES. STAY ON TOPIC SKIP. oh man skip getting my blood pressure up.
stacy (georgetown)
morning adam g.
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
Very good point Jason(Morgantown)...Bill Russell has what 11 rings or so...He should take the #1 jersey because he thinks he's the best ever
Rick (Pittsburgh)
amen scott
THE_REAL_FAN ((TWITTER))
Verajao's shouldn't have LeBron coming to his defense. Verajao is a grown-man, he has to defend for himself. Wade didn't throw a punch, he just punched it in on him.
stacy (georgetown)
morning dana how are you?
Umor (Detroit)
LeBron changing your number and still gonna get the Skip Bayless hate.
willie (topeka basement)
skip always brings the subject back to the ppl he hates on
CANDACE (KC,MO)
wow roller. chris paul is the best player on his team and the one of the top 3 point guard in the game
Champ (Bmore)
Melo is better than Wade and Lebron.
Lucas (Fargo, ND) [via mobile]
Good point skip, LeBron should have b een trying to posterize some from the heat instead of talking about how good of a dunk it was by D-Wade
john (panama city bch, fl)
If the papparazi were SO aggressive- they'd catch LeBrick offering a dollar to the refs! STILL the most 3-pt lay-ups in the league.
Mark (Ann Arbor)
Ocho was right. Skip is all shock value.
Abel (Oxnard, CA)
kareem is the best ever! retire his number not jordans.
Champ (Bmore)
Please stop comparing Lebron to Mike. I love King James but Kobe is closer than Lebron
Brian (SoCal)
Now that he is out of New Orleans, Byron Scott might have a chance at Lakers job if Phil doesn't come back next year.
mike (Atlanta)
i like that idea brian but i'm not sure phil will ever step down.
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
Byron Scott got a raw deal wow
Reischea (10:33 AM)
Interesting comments from COO of Hornets though. Basically said, Jeff Bower, you picked this team, you better make 'em win.
mike m (canton oh)
abel kareem wasnt even the best center ever, let alone better then mj
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Let's hope and pray that Kareem gets well.
Chris (Boston)
DANA, ask Skip who the better 6-2 team is...the Cowboys or Patriots.
Ray (Arlington, VA)
Number change for LeBron = more jersey sales
Roller (Kentucky)
Why can't these guys just be who they are and not be like mike?!
Demetric (Orlando)
Fear my Hawks...tonite we crush Boston
scott (niagara falls)
kobe is the man
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Chris Paul is playing the best ball in the league right now according to the Hollinger Player Rater stat.
MSimmer (Tempe, AZ)
Kobe is garbage
Daniel (Louisville)
Does anyone know the chances the cavs bring d-wade to cleveland?
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I kind of wish we were doing MQF today. Just not enough good stuff in sports yesterday worth talking about.
Bag On Skins Fans Head (Wilmington NC)
Sports Nation did a poll yesterday about who fans would want to take the potential game winning shot... Kobe was #1. I think LeBron was next, but Id rather have D Wade as the second option. Mello was under 10% I believe
Roller (Kentucky)
finally! some real basketball talk- college
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
rick i hope your team aint as cocky astheir fans gonna be using the towels to wipe up the tears after sunday
THE_REAL_FAN ((TWITTER))
LeBron wasn't born when Bill Russell played, so he is not disrespecting him by wearing #6.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
LeBron changes to number six and immediately starts making passes that get intercepted.
Abel (Oxnard, CA)
Toby Gerhart is a beast! he reminds me of mike alstott.
Zack (Maine)
or he could coach college basketball
mike (Atlanta)
why in the world is TCU favored by 20 this weekend? Utah is ranked 16th.
Demetric (Orlando)
The Crown Prince James, knows nothing about loyalty, he crushed addias for nike
THE_REAL_FAN ((TWITTER))
LeBron might change his number to prove that he can win six championships as well. Ummmmmm....
jason007thomas (Huntsville,Al)
Please ya'll - are we gonna Bron it all Day??? that guys team is a lost cause - stop it - Skip has put a spell on all of you
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Ask Pat Forde if WVU has any chance to upset Cincy tonight please!
Champ (Bmore)
Oh yeah!!!! My Caramel Macchiato is finally here. Hey Reischea, I would love to share with you :)
Brian (SoCal)
LeBron could get Skip's love...all he needs to do is go to Vandy.
stacy (georgetown)
guys let me say this...skip is insane...
Rick (Pittsburgh)
skip speaks the truth people don't like him cause the truth hurts
John H (Lincolnton NC)
The thing is everybody has crown Lebron the next Michael Jordan, when Jordan came in the league nobody was callin him the next magic or docter J
Guy (Jacksonville)
If Delonte West had his mind-right I think the Cavs would be undefeated now.
Reischea (10:35 AM)
But remember Mike (Atlanta), Phil walked a few seasons back before coming back again. He's closer to shutting it down than holding on much longer, especially after surpassing Auerback for titles.
THE_REAL_FAN ((TWITTER))
With the versatility of the Lakers, Phil would only leave if his health could not sustain a full 82-game season.
Champ (Bmore)
They told Phil that he don't have to go to road games. Do you really think he has any intentions of leaving the Lakers
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I think it's interesting at how impatient NBA owners seem to be. I mean the season is 82 games long and just about everyone makes the playoffs. Why wouldn't you give a coach some more rope?
jason007thomas (Huntsville,Al)
look the reason I say MJ is the greatest cause he played in the era where you could get a Bill Lambeir Dennis Rodman Facial punch on the way up to the rim - its a different era, MJ did it when it was bad for your health to drop 50 on some body
Kevin (OH)
Daniel, 17:1
Reischea (10:35 AM)
Yeah Champ, but even Phil knows, that deal won't work.
Brian (SoCal)
The zenmaster has been Farving the last two years so you never know. That said with the players lakers have now phil will not likely leave.
scott (niagara falls)
if the lakers seem good now, just wait til gasol gets back
Mark (Alabama)
Dana Reischea whos yalls heisman vote go to so far?
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Byron Scott had the best haircut in the late 80's early 90's
Roller (Kentucky)
Does anybody know if Roy Williams sent Matt Daugherty a championship ring from the first champ. that R. Williams won with Matt's team??!
Umor (Detroit)
Bill Russel Number, He done alot on and off the court.
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
Rediculous to fire Byron Scott after one tenth of the season...and then they hire Tim Floyd as an assistant?...going to be a long season in New Orleans...but they have the Saints this year anyway
john (panama city bch, fl)
Brian- nah, he'll have another job by the end of the season.
CANDACE (KC,MO)
wade is underrated. look at his team. they look like a ncaa team. the heat came to kc and i was able to watch him live. wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Zack (Maine)
phil should retire
mike (Atlanta)
true reis but if they win back to back Is he really going to walk away from another possible three peat?
Whitney (Iowa City)
I pick Iowa to beat Ohio State! Go Hawks!
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
Lebron will be wearing Dr. J's number next year, what';s the difference LJ
Trevor (Clinton Township, MI)
I don't put much stock in National college football offense and defense rankings because there are just so many teams (120) with varying levels of toughness in schedules....plus you have teams that throw all the time like Texas Tech and Houston, and teams that run all the time like Navy...just not an accurate gauge IMO.
Guy (Jacksonville)
I think it is time to start pumping up the talk on this MNF game. I know this will be hard to believe, but Cleveland Browns win big over Baltimore. Quinn passes for over 300-yards.
Brian (SoCal)
good one J.B.
Mark (Ann Arbor)
If i didn't know any better I would think Skip is posing as Rick in Pittsburgh right now.
Loopy (usa)
Wait a minute. Lebron is changing his number? Which NBA exec "suggested" that?
john (panama city bch, fl)
LeBricks new number should be 1/2. Instead of being one-fifth of a team, his teammates- combined- become his "supporting cast"
scott (niagara falls)
msimmer GARBAGE you obviously dont watch basketball
Zack (Maine)
boston can crush any team in basketball
Fred L (Greensboro, NC)
Only Skip "Lebron is No Jordan" Bayless can take the steam out of one of D'Wade's greatest posterizations and turn it into how Lebron is no Mike. Seriously?!?!?
Andrew L (Stamford, CT)
Why did you guys even have D-Wade's dunk as a topic of discussion? Dunk is way overrated. I'm disappointed in you Skip you usually call it like it is.
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
finally someone who sees through tcu's patsy schedule
Reischea (10:37 AM)
Well, we'll likely be smelling somethin' if Byron is an assistant for the Lakers next season. Unless of course Phil wins another title and says yep, I'm good to go now.
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
whitney gonna be a bad saturday for you then
Roller (Kentucky)
I'm gonna break it down for you guys: the SEC is gonna dominate in basketball this season too so don't be crying!!
ryan (maine)
Simmer (Az).......I am the biggest Rams fan and I'm watchin the tape of that game! The Rams 1st play from scrimmage 80 yrd Td to Bruce!! 5th play from scrimmage a 40 Td to Faulk!! 14-3 4 mins into the game and it was over!!!
Abel (Oxnard, CA)
mj didnt play against anybody.
jason007thomas (Huntsville,Al)
Rick (Pittsburgh) I agree but sometimes Skips speaks in WKRP shock jock madness (And he aint even in Cincinnati)
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Vandy isn't a sleeper team. Everyone is picking them to win the Big East. Look for the Mountaineers to shock everyone this year in basketball.
Kevin (OH)
Going to be a rough weekend for ya Whitney
Msimmer (Tempe)
Cavs would not be undefeated with d west aweful comment Guy
Mark (Ann Arbor)
Whitney - Iowa might not even score an offensive point on Saturday. It's going to get ugly in the horsehoe.
Brian (SoCal)
Agrre with you Adam. Dr. J is as big an icon for many as MJ.
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Woohoo, he stole my analysis about WVU b-ball.
Ty. New jersey [via mobile]
Elton brand is the biggest bust
mendy (okla.)
Roller..football not so much but BB the big 12 will be strong like always.
Demetric (Orlando)
Zack...the Hawks will Attack the C's tonite
john (panama city bch, fl)
Andrew, that dunk was S I C K. Varejao forgot to flop, and paid for it by being EMBARASSED!
Champ (Bmore)
I hope you are not saying TCU is overrated BengalBill.....?
jay (10:39 AM)
happy friday room!
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
You're also supposed to feign an injury after you get dunked on like that.
Rajesh (Atlanta)
Demarcus Cousins is an absolute beast...I saw him play during his senior year in high school. He looked like a man amongst boys
Trevor (Clinton Township, MI)
Calipari will do what he did at Massachusetts and Memphis...win a bunch of games....make the final four and lose...get the hell out of dodge before the crap really hits the fan.
CANDACE (KC,MO)
hey skip nobody will ever be jordan. look how bad kobe wants to be him. it just wont happen. it wasnt his skill it was his heart it was the fire in his eyes. wow!!!
jason007thomas (Huntsville,Al)
Mark (Ann Arbor) yeah your right that red shirt freshman QB of IOWA couldn't hit a bull in the but with a base fiddle
Mark (Alabama)
Jay do you think Bama will get upset this weekend ,hope not
Rick (Pittsburgh)
I see why people dont agree with skip but you cant say that its not refreshing to hear someone just speak about true things.
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
overrated i don't know but they are not better than the bearcats
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
That dunk was embarassing for Jay's boy Varejao he's probably in his hotel room crying.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Thankfully the Knicks have not retired the number six yet.
mike m (canton oh)
mod abel should be banned for saying mj never played anyone, what about l bird, magic,i thomas,d wilkins and c barkley
Joel (Stanwood, WA)
The acquisition of Shaq is going to be bad for LeBron late in games, unless they take Shaq out. Lebron likes to drive the lane and try to creat fouls late in the game and he can't do that with Shaq clogging up the lane.
Roller (Kentucky)
Not much time left to get on the bandwagon for UK, after tonite the wagon is pulling out!! haha
Brian (SoCal)
Hey Jay. bigger game for Ohio. cincy/WV or OSU Iowa?
john (panama city bch, fl)
WooHoo, welcome jay!
Msimmer (Tempe)
Bay or Holliday who is a better fit for Boston
Guy (Jacksonville)
The SEC is already overrated in football-no-way will they do anygood in basketball...
mendy (okla.)
Champ tcu is overrated. let them play the gators or bama.
scott (niagara falls)
whats up jay
Abel (Oxnard, CA)
i agree with charles barkley who said the the nba should retire magic and birds numbers cuz they saved the nba.
Champ (Bmore)
Your right Reischea but with that team, Phil got at least 2 more years in him.
mendy (okla.)
mike m well put!!!
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
Jay I told you about how vulnerable Varejao under the basket. Remember Hollins posterized him last year for the Mavs.
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
College basketball is cool...and the great thing is Roller, there will be a tournament to decide who is the best and it's all about the teams, not stars...
Jacob (Dallas, TX)
Can we talk about tcu? I think they are extremely oevrrated. They need to get off the jv schedule and play at least 3 GREAT teams. If they can defeat good programs in the regular season, then I'll think they are the #4 team in the country.
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
The Bearcats are the best college football team in the state of Ohio!
Rick (Pittsburgh)
LeBron wont go to NY he would have about a 6% chance of winning
Umor (Detroit)
Yeah Byron Scott will be with another team by the break I bet.
Guy (Jacksonville)
Hey Skip, still room on the Cav's band wagon-want on?
dana (10:43 AM)
allright i have some movie choices to make this weekend - thoughts what i need to see?
Bag On Skins Fans Head (Wilmington NC)
Dana - I liked Law Abiding Citizen, but my date did not, maybe try Men Who Stare At Goats
Joel (Stanwood, WA)
I would like LeBron to go to the Suns. Seeing him and Nash together would be a fun thing to watch.
Bag On Skins Fans Head (Wilmington NC)
Doesnt it make the most sense for LeBron to go to the Lakers? Hard to imagine that he wants to join the misery in the Garden
Roller (Kentucky)
((Caddy Mike)) agree 100%
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
Jason they are the best team in ohio this year but ohio state is still the best program, I say that objectively being an ex bearcat football player
Champ (Bmore)
Just because they cant beat Fla or Bama doesn't mean they are overrated. They'll do better than Cincy!
Umor (Detroit)
LeBron in Dallas. How about that.
jason007thomas (Huntsville,Al)
Abel (Oxnard, CA) yeah it should be a Magic Bird Shrine somewhere (forever the Gods of the game)
Mark (Ann Arbor)
Jacob - you say they need to beat 3 great teams. Can you name me 3 great teams that Florida or Alabama have beat this year?
jeff (bengalland)
bearcats rule ohio
dana (10:45 AM)
i heard law abiding citizen was good - men who stare at goats i've heard mixed and i was excited to see it, so i think i'll wait.
Kevin (OH)
Brian, cmon...its OSU/IOWA....Cinci is technically not even in Ohio (It's southern ohio, big difference)
Joel (Stanwood, WA)
How fast was Jay able to throw a fastball?
Zack (Maine)
Hawks need to play better defense
Abel (Oxnard, CA)
when did mj start winning championships? when they all were on their way out of the league.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
'Sup, Jay. Hey did Jay Cutler throw you a pass last night too? He seemed to hit anyone else not wearing a Bears uniform.
Champ (Bmore)
Don't be surprised if WVA shocks Cincy tonight. Those RB's are amazing!!

LeBron will stay in Cleveland (sorry NY) and Wade will stay at Miami...just pumping up the new contracts.
mari (ok)
i'd like to see ND finally end the weis regime and bring in Kelly
Trevor (Clinton Township, MI)
Jacob, Boise State has a worse schedule than TCU, you should be crusading against them instead. Neither is making the "national championship" game any way.
Zack (Maine)
there gonna give joe johnson alesson
Brian (SoCal)
GM to coach usually a bad move. remember isiah?
Demetric (Orlando)
Byron Scott........ PLEASE COME TO ATLANTA
mari (ok)
precious and the blind side
john (panama city bch, fl)
Guy (Jacksonville) ROTFL- and, If you come back...I will taunt you again!
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
Good one Rick
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I still say if LeBron comes to New York he won't be the only big acquisition the Knicks make.
Zack (Maine)
The celtics are going to own the hawks tonight
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Playing Shaq for any more than 8 minutes per half at this stage of his career is more of a hindrance than a help.
Whitney (Iowa City)
Vandenberg is going to be much more prepared for this weekend So I think he will be just fine, and our defense is awesome!
Kevin (OH)
Dana, do yourself a favor and do NOT see Men who Stare at Goats
THE_REAL_FAN ((TWITTER))

Here are some teams for LeBron, what do you guys think? Memphis- LeBron and Gasol, Clippers- Blake and James, Hornets - Paul and James, Magic- Howard and James. It could happen!!!
Rajesh (Atlanta)
Big Al (Horford) is awesome...If he didn't have to play out of position so much..He would be even better. He's a 4 and often has to suck it up and gaurd 5's. He still saves the Hawks as a legit 10 and 10 guy.
Zack (Maine)
D-wade is kinda better than Lebron this year
Rick (Pittsburgh)
law abiding citizen, the box, must sees
Joel (Stanwood, WA)
Rent My Sister's Keeper. It will make you cry.
Champ (Bmore)
TCU is physical enough to beat down Tebow for 4 quarters and Bama might be too one dimensional. So now that I think about it, if they handle Utah, TCU could possibly win the national championship lol
Trevor (Clinton Township, MI)
The Men Who Stare at Goats is the worst movie title EVER
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Dana: Unless it is animated or done by Disney, I don't see many good movies these days. Word is that '2012' is pretty good but do I really want to see a movie about the end of the world?
dana (10:47 AM)
zack some said he was kinda better till he got hurt last year.
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
Nash Wade Lebron keep Amundsen he's a good hustle player

Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
Jay it was Rutgers against USF last night you think about me just jokin (Piscataway-Tampa)
James (Denver)
D Wades performance in the Finals is the most overrated playoff performance in NBA history . Wade went to the free throw line 92 times in that series most in NBA Finals history . In a 6 game series he got to the free throw line more then Jordan ever did in a 7 game series . D Wade is the most overrated player in the NBA .
Brian (SoCal)
tiger taking his PAID winter vacation in the south Pacific. Nice appearance fees.
stacy (georgetown)

john (panama city bch, fl)
Jason- that's like saying..."I got the best seat on the Titanic.
Trevor (Clinton Township, MI)
Dana, if 2012 is out, I'd go see that...but some of the CGI looks really bad from what I've seen in previews...it looks like you're watching Jumanji from 1995 lol.
Joel (Stanwood, WA)
I wonder if Skip has ever cried while watching a movie.

dana (10:50 AM)
chris i've heard about it but now can't remember what it's about
Mark (Alabama)
Dana did you enjoy your ride with Skip?
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
In our house we are excited about "Area 51," coming out next week. The cool thing about animated films these days is that kids and adults can both enjoy them.
Mark (Ann Arbor)
John - I don't disagree. Just don't say that TCU hasn't beaten anyone when they have won At Clemson Virgina and BYU. The only good win on FLorida' schedule is LSU.
Daniel (Louisville)
I wonder if skip has ever ever cried from stepping on a nail.... or maybe he criticized the color and the type of metal its made of :p

mark, actually skip went with our producer pete, i drove with jon ritchie and actually had a great time. we bonded. it was cool. seriously, good guy. i love road trips. way back i was with skip and pete and it was cool...
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I understand that in '2012,' The Lions and Wolverines are both undefeated before everything starts to fall apart.
jeff (bengalland)
would skip wear ochos jersey all day monday when we sweep the steelers?
Joel (Stanwood, WA)
Skip woke up crying one morning because he had a dream that he wasn't able to work out for an entire 24 hours.
Reischea (10:53 AM)
That movie was really good Champ. I was just a little miffed at the end though. That's only too obvious moment to me.
lawrence (stowe vt)
SKIP'S"END OF THE WORLD" is not having a protein shake or a treadmill for breakfast.
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Are there any more rumors about Larry Johnson going to the Steelers?
Carlos (Atlanta)
Dana, what does the Sanchize have plan for this week
James (Denver)
Rajesh in Atlanta only Skip Bayless and others that know nothing about basketball thought the Hornets were legit contenders last season . They got lucky 2 seasons ago and had a nice little playoff run but what did they ever win . To people that know basketball they flew under the radar for 1 season and made the playoffs thats it and if James Posey is the final piece to any teams championship puzzle there in trouble .
Zack (Maine)
in your dreams jeff
CANDACE (KC,MO)

Skip is pumping his fists for the Cowboys, but I am going to be really surprised if they could make it to the NFC Championship.
Fred L (Greensboro, NC)
I wouldn't go to the Knicks if I was Lebron. The people that make the decisions for the organization has proven that they don't make good decisions i.e. Marbury, Isaiah Thomas. Plus D'Antonie doesn't coach defense. No championship hopes for them.
Daniel (Kentucky)
Danny Granger is the best player in the N.B.A.
willie (topeka basement)
its always to huh skip
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)

James (Denver)
Even after what Ive seen so far this season with the Broncos quick start and Jay Cutlers struggles in Chicago I would still take Jay Cutler as my starting QB before Kyle Orton any day !
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
Daniel what are you talking about maybe the best on the Pacers
Demetric (Orlando)

Rick (Pittsburgh)
NO LJ we dont need him
THE_REAL_FAN ((TWITTER))
In the latest issue of Sports Illustrated, the prediction is that the Saints will beat the Steelers in the SuperBowl. The Saints have been barely winning games lately; I think they will choke in the playoffs.
Rick (Pittsburgh)
and don't say goal line runner i don't buy that comment at all with a good o-line skip should score from the goal line
Brian (SoCal)
Steelers better win or they are effectively 2 games back.
Mark (Ann Arbor)
mark alabama - Jay made his 3 minute appearance in the chat today. He has turned into one of those celebrities that get paid to show up at an event for 10 minutes then they take off!
Daniel (Kentucky)
Look at the stats adam. because he's on the pacers is why he don't get no love. Since Uncle Reggie left they've gone from a team that matters to the bobcats

I hardly ever find college football to be disappointing. I kind of like the fact that the SEC looks no better than any other conference. I have tired of listening to the SEC elitists over the years.
Daniel T. (Louisville)
The pacers are no bobcats.... they actually have a chance to make the playoffs every year placing 9th in the eastern conference every year since their last playoff berth...
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
That's quite an obstacle course you guys have to run through to get to each set.

Did LeBron just realize that Jordan was as good as he was? Why did he take the number 23 in the first place?! He's just doing this to center more attention around himself.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Zach: Eventually he will retire but right now he's got his team on top and looking really good.

LeBron just said the thing about MJ and #23 because he wants to distract attention away from his free agency talk. Brilliant move on his part.
Daniel T. (Louisville)
D-wade in a pacer uniform would be my dream come true.... dreaming of the 90's pacer playoff runs :p
john (panama city bch, fl)
Let's form a Debate Championship Series- WITH play-offs between Skip, Ritchie, Ocho, Jamele, and Woody. Winner gets a RING. THEN, in years to come we can rate THEM,lol.
Zack (Maine)
the bengals are no match for the steelers
James (Denver)
Byron Scotts New Orleans Hornets lost a home playoff game by 54 points to my Denver Nuggets . Scott should of been fired at halftime of that game ! He was forced out by the players in New Jersey . Hes odviously a terrible coach and deserved to be fired .
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
pacers need another superstar..any ideas?
Roller (Kentucky)
feel sorry for people who had Cutler on their ff team
Big Kev (Bag over the head Redskins Fan)
Dallas will lose to us!

willie (topeka basement)
i have to say this yes a cpl were dropped but cutler was trying to force those balls
lawrence (stowe vt)
The diffrence between lebron and kobe is kobe wants and knows how to win and lebron talks about winning while doing all the self promotion possible.
Zack (Maine)
Chuck Norris
Rick (Pittsburgh)
kobe should switch from 24 to 23 now that lebron said hes going to 6 haha do it kobe take lebrons spot light
Joel (Stanwood, WA)
The Lakers should sign Reggie Miller just for the playoffs and brin him off the bench if they need a 3 pointer. Dude can still shoot and wants a ring.
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)
Jay I told you! $20,000 fien for Chad!!!
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Reggie Miller is even older than Ty Law.
Zack (Maine)
Chuck Norris could beat the bengals
Abel (Oxnard, CA)
lebron should change his number to 85 so he can be the ochocinco of the nba.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
D-Wade and LeBron playing for the Knicks would be great for me but I'd be just as happy with LeBron and Bosh. I am pretty much boycotting the NBA until the Knicks are relevant again.
Daniel (Kentucky)
peyton=mvp
Chizzie (Thornton, Co)
I was looking forward to Portis, running wild on that Denver defesne. But, I guess it won't happen.
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
How many chairs could the first take crew bring to the set in the time it takes Jay Cutler to make 5 picks?
Chris (PA)
I'm anxious to see how the Heinz Field turf holds up this weekend...2 games in under 24 hours
Jay Crawford (Minnesota )
Dana. Please let Skip know he is tragically byes when it comes to Jay Cutler. How can Matt Forte be horrible when he and 120 yards receiving? Yes only 40yard rushing but isn't he behind the same line Skip blames for Jay throwing the ball to the wrong team 5 times? Is Cutlers line throwing the ball? No! Let?s kick the crutch out and make him accountable. He can always throw it away if the pressure is that bad.
clint (seattle)
ocho's bribe was hilarious
Guy (Jacksonville)
Whats the big deal, LeBron will own 23 in a few years anyway!
Daniel T. (Louisville)
zack your right.... the bengals didn't beat the steelers earlier in the season.... its all an nfl conspiracy

Sporttown (Indianapolis)

Reischea (11:06 AM)
Are you really a horrible coach, when you were named coach of the year 2 seasons ago? They did have a great season that year. Not saying change was or wasn't necessary, but he was successful in New Jersey and New Orleans, I can't call him horrible.
Daniel (Kentucky)
who cares who wears 23 in the nba
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
JB, you will be boycotting for a long while
Rick (Pittsburgh)

J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Willie: Blindside I think.
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
bengals will win again, colts v pats= bile creeping up my esophogus
Chizzie (Thornton, Co)
Chad Johnson ( I refuse to call him that other name) is a moron. He just wants attention.

The Steelers/Bengals game is just as exciting as the Colts/Pats matchup. The AFC north is on the line to start the second-half of the season. With the defense of Cincinnati, I think we are in for a treat.
mike m (canton oh)
jb if your waiting for the knicks to be good again your going to have a long wait, they seem to be the pittsburg pirates of the nba right now

J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I think they are a step above the Pirates, Mike, but we'll know for sure in the off-season when the big time FAs are out there.
Umor (Detroit)
Steelers win. Will not allow themselves to be swept by the Bengals. And hating that the Cincy D is getting more talk than theirs.
Chizzie (Thornton, Co)
could you imgaine what, Ronnie Lott, would've done to Chad Johnson, if he was playing today. That would've been awesome.

Tonight? Are you talking about in Madden Zach? Anyway I got the Steelers winning by 6.
Reischea (11:10 AM)
someone asked where NFL Fines go.... great question btw. Looked it up and the only thing I found was that some money goes to the disabled players association. Read somewhere else it goes simply to support the NFL Players Association. Also read that it goes to various NFL Charities as well. Hope that helps.
Chizzie (Thornton, Co)
Reichea, how's it going? I have a question for you. Has your take, on the Colts, changed? I mean you said (earlier in the season, they always start off great then get bounced from the playoffs?
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Why all this talk about Pats/Colts and Steelers/Bengals? Everyone knows the most important game of the weekend is Vikes/Lions. A Minnesota win could put them four games up on the rest of the division.
john (panama city bch, fl)
Chiz- Ida LOVED to see that!!
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
I miss john madden, how is he doing?
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
If the Steelers lose Sunday, I will legally change my name to Jason El Bobo
Rick (Pittsburgh)
could you imagine what any safety would do to ocho if they new they wouldnt get fined $25,000
Umor (Detroit)
Chizzie, Ocho would stay as far away from Ronnie Lott as possible.
Joel (Stanwood, WA)
Playoffs? Don't talk about the playoffs! Playoffs?
Brian (SoCal)
I am not a big fan of the retire the number thruout the league thing. I agreed with jackie robinson because of the social impact but not really Gretzky although he was a great player.
Ray (Arlington, VA)
Reischea agree that Byron is a solid coach. But, I think his demeanor can rub guys the wrong way after awhile. He's not a "player's coach". Much like Avery Johnson, he wears out his welcome quickly.
mike (Atlanta)
i think we just buried zack

I wonder if sexy rexy grossman is thinking that he at least got the bears to a SB.

Hasn't changed yet. That said, I don't see a first round knockout by this squad. I do believe they are the most quiet undefeated out there right now. I wouldn't mind a Saints Colts Super Bowl... but then Peyton would have to lose, cuz' I am all about the Saints going all the way this year. Its no where near time for my Niners yet.I'll see where I'm at in a couple of weeks.

steelers 33 bengals 17 on SUNDAY

If you retire 23 in the NBA, you had better retire number 3 in baseball then.
jeff (bengalland)
i am a huge jordan fan but you retire that number then likewise 33,32,6,
mike m (canton oh)
wow skips is actually dead on for once with the #23 debate

Hayden (Logan, Utah)
Dana, Jay, Reis, can you please use your pull to make college football teams play better opponents in their regular season games? Im sick of LSU, USC, and the SEC getting all of this acclaim for beating each other.

Mickey (Memphis )
Skip just a Jordan fan. That's why he's with LaBron.
Daniel T. (Louisville)
farve, brees, neither should be considered over Manning for mvp... neither one has done more with less than Manning has... among the colts, vikings, and saints only one team lost their head coach and the Colts lost a HOF coach. Favre has peterson at his back, and Brees has his full complement of receivers and RB's at his back.... Only manning has had to train 3 new rookies, garcon-brown-collie, and has lead his team to 8-0, remove Manning from the colts and they go the way of the titans or the bucs
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)

Abel (Oxnard, CA)
is lebron pulling a kobe by changing his number?
mike (Atlanta)
well the only time skip likes lebron is when he is honoring michael jordan. But i agree with him. Jordan needs to get retired all across the board. Doesn't baseball have someone retired all across the board?
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I'm really hoping to see Minnesota win the Super Bowl this year. I've waited to see that happen for pretty much my whole NFL-watching life and to see one of the most storied Packer players ever lead the Vikes to victory would make it oh so sweet.

Daniel (Kentucky)
the only number that should be retired is 42.for every sport in america
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
That fake Jay Crawford from MN is beginning to get on my nerves.
Africa (Brooklyn, NY)
You don't retire numbers everywhere because of statistics, retiring the number league wide means the PERSON under the number has far surpassed and endured more than anyone else.
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
Basketball should be about the name on the front(TEAM) and not the number on the back
Joel (Stanwood, WA)
They should retire Sage Rosenfels number.

Jason, the NHL should have retired itself in 99
Rick (Pittsburgh)

Joel (Stanwood, WA)
Exactly Africa. Like Jackie Robinson for example.
mike (Atlanta)
tomwit i dont even Understant the question. Better player than jordan? What?
Trevor (Clinton Township, MI)
Yes Mike ATL....Jackie Robinson's #42...aside from him, I don't think any numbers should be retired league wide.
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
MJ's HOF speech was the best ever
mod (11:18 AM)
I agree Hayden

J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I just think LeBron needs to read a few books about the history of the NBA. It makes him sound uneducated about his league when he makes comments like, 'MJ is a pioneer.'
john (panama city bch, fl)
How about we just retire bERT fARVER- i REALLY don't care about his number!!!
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Hayden agrees with me? Is this '2012?'
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
how is lebron hated more than Kobe 'rapetime' bryant?
clint (seattle)

Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Noel Devine needs at least 200 total yards for my Mountaineers to win tonight.
Roller (Kentucky)
MJ wasn't the first great or the last great player.
jeff (bengalland)
bengalbill who will be starting for rivers
Andrew (Toledo)
No one will ever have a bigger impact than Ruth in baseball. He simply changed how the game was played via the home run. Someone may put up bigger numbers (without steroids), but no one will ever change the game like that again unless baseball changes its rules.
Reischea (11:21 AM)
Bill Russell also endured some pretty heady stuff during his day. Also remember, coached and played, with one or two of those 11 titles coming in double duty... I'd say his is far more the most worthy of league wide retirement if you want to go there.
Mark (Alabama)
Reischea whos your heisman
mod (11:21 AM)
I don't care what numbers you put up, unless you made a change on AND off the field, like Jackie, and no one has since Jackie...I don't believe you retire a number league-wide
Guy (Jacksonville)
Once again Wade should have been given a foul.
Zack (Maine)
bye
Abel (Oxnard, CA)
they should retire bo outlaws number.
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)

J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Wait, what did I say, Hayden?
Africa (Brooklyn, NY)
And it's a miracle Rivera is wearing it cuz it would suck if some role player had it.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Actually my sister got me a Brett Favre Vikings t-shirt for my birthday. I plan to wear it with pride every Sunday until the end of the season.
Demetric (Orlando)

Reischea (11:22 AM)
You know what Mark, I don't have one yet. No one is really got me thrilled. Sorry.
Rick (Pittsburgh)
so if you wore 42 before they retired that number that means you could still use that number ?
mod (11:23 AM)
bingo, and I think Mo's the only one left in the Majors who is still around who had it before they retired it
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
jeff I don't know
jeff (bengalland)
jason he has a good chance our d is not that great
mike m (canton oh)
ok wilt scored 100 in a game but mj and kobe are a more complete players could score outside or in the paint plus if kobe could score 81 im sure if he really wanted to try and not care about winning a game he could jack up enough shots to score 100
Trevor (Clinton Township, MI)
Yes Rick, but it was grandfathered in, if you were already wearing it you could still wear it, ala Mo Vaughn....must be a Mo thing lol. People were shocked when Selig retired Jackie Robinson's number throughout the MLB...it wasn't something that was expected.
Daniel T. (Louisville)
if they keep retiring numbers soon they are gonna have to go with triple digit numbers.... skip, who do you think would wear #666? :p
Brian (SoCal)
Yes he does. MLB said that anyone currently wearing 42 could keep wearing it but no one else could start wearing it. So Mo will be the last to wear 42 in MLB.
Demetric (Orlando)
Bill Russell played in a bed and breafest era were everything game easy
Africa (Brooklyn, NY)
No, if you currently held the number, it's yours until you give it up or retire. After Mo' rides off into the Hall of Fame, no more 42 until the end of time.
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
go vikes JB
Chizzie (Thornton, Co)
look at, the Colorado Avalanche, they retired Ray Bourque's number. He only played 1 1/2 season for the team.
Daniel T. (Louisville)
oh please.... i can think of 10 players in the nfl that deserve their number retired before favre would even be considered
Mickey (Memphis )
Are everyone on this chat crazy? Who's Jordan to have his number retire. If they do that, you might as well retire Bird, kareem, magic, you see where I,m with this.
jeff (bengalland)
reischa what about the back up in cincinnati
Mark (Alabama)
thanks for answering
Adam G. (Tampa, FL)

that is what you get if you combine uc q bs
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)

JB, vikes Super Bowl champs this year, and yes, I am freaked out about agreeing with you too
Roller (Kentucky)
How can you argue against Russell being better, if you wanna talk rings he has more than any one athlete!?
Africa (Brooklyn, NY)
Reishea, basketball fans (today) live in the highlight era of sports. All they know is Jordan scored a lot of points, won a bunch of titles with a lot of good teams and a HoF coach and sold a lot of sneakers.
john (panama city bch, fl)
There are a FINITE amount of numbers to be used- realistically, therefore the ability to retire a number from use- MUST transcend stats, and reflect an over-the-top contribution to the sport, that's why we HAVE H.O.F.s
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
if baseball retired all of its players and numbers I wouldnt care much
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Jeff, our pass D is putrid. So maybe it will be a high scoring affair.
mendy (okla.)
Rei thanks...mark's been on it with that question...maybe wanting some love for ingram.
James (Denver)
Reischa alot of bad coaches that are long gone from the NBA have won coach of the year and alot of great coaches havent . George Karl Jerry Sloan and Phil Jackson have never won it so does that mean they arent good coaches ? Coach of the year is given to coaches whos teams exceed expectations and New Orleans did fly under the radar and win for 1 season . He was forced out by the players in New Jersey . He couldnt get along with JR Smith and gave him away . Hes a terrible coach sorry .

I believe so. Grandfather clause basically, but the league could very well say, find another number.
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
numbers are meaingless, who cares? Id wear 00, 99, 69, whatever!!
Roller (Kentucky)
You can't compare the different era's in sports, the guys that played at different times played the best competition out there just like the guys that play today, against the best comp. so that is a baseless argument!
Trevor (Clinton Township, MI)
The best Heisman moment ever....1916 Georgia Tech - 222, Cumberland-TN - 0....GT head coach John Heisman runs up the score against a patchwork Cumberland-TN squad for a 22-0 baseball defeat where Cumberland-TN reportedly used professional players. Don't mess with Heisman lol.
jeff (bengalland)
like it was for us against uconn
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Having Jackie's number retired league wide is about the only good thing Bud Selig has done for baseball (let the J.B. bashing begin).
Rajesh (Atlanta)
Tuberville just praised Notre Dame. He cant be SEC biased..
Andrew (Toledo)
If TCU or Boise gets left out of the BCS this don't be surprised to see an anti-trust lawsuit (that would win).
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
this is the first year in a while when the Heisman is up in the air so late in the season, agree?
mod (11:26 AM)
OK Hayden, now you're pushing it, I already agreed with you once today
Rick (Pittsburgh)
agree hayden
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Most dominate "move" in sports: Rivera's cutter, Jordan's fade away, Barry Sanders' juke, or what?
Reischea (11:27 AM)
99 was the Worm wasn't it? Random thought here. As a kid, I thought you could only do numbers 0-5, because the refs could represent the number with one hand. 99 threw me!
mod (11:27 AM)
I like that question, Jason
Abel (Oxnard, CA)
sky hook is the most dominate!
Rick (Pittsburgh)
reggie white club and swim moves
clint (seattle)
skyhook from karreem......lol
jeff (bengalland)
b sanders juke unstoppable
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
west virginy in trouble tonight bearcat d built for defending spread offenses thats why kelly went to 3 4 defense hard to get the edge on cincy ask oregon state
Umor (Detroit)
The Talent wasn't as streech out as it is today in Russel Era. He played against the best teams.
mendy (okla.)
Actually Hayden there is meaning in wearing a certain # on any level of play at least it was for me back in the day.
mike m (canton oh)
its not the # on the outside of the jersey, its about the player inside of it
Abel (Oxnard, CA)
hayden its up in the air every year.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Ah a fellow Vikes fan. Amazing we don't agree more, Hayden.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Kareem's sky hook for most dominant move nominee.
Daniel (Kentucky)
larry legend busting heads from deep
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
rajesh whatch him on espnu inside the polls which they should change to inside the sec since all the analyst are from sec schools
Trevor (Clinton Township, MI)
The 2001 Heisman was up in the air til the last moment...Eric Crouch won (Grossman should have gotten it IMO) but a lot of the votes were lost in the mail I believe because of 9-11 stuff and the anthrax scare of the time. Voters were still hellbent then about not giving the Heisman to a Freshman or Sophomore...Rex was a soph.
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
most dominate move in sports right now is the Brady to ref signal for a call
mike m (canton oh)
kareems sky hook,unblockable
Chizzie (Thornton, Co)
Hawks are playing over their heads. They're a good team, but, not a great team.
Guy (Jacksonville)
Ali's catch fraise...
Demetric (Orlando)
Andrew, Tuberville just wants the Notre Dame job
Daniel (Kentucky)
skip wins the heisman because no one runs like his mouth lol
Africa (Brooklyn, NY)
Rivera's cutter. He has ONE postseason loss, outside of that, if the yanks had the lead in the 8th inning, time to head to the parking lot
mendy (okla.)
Jason hands down barry sanders!
Rajesh (Atlanta)
Jason--my opinion Rivers's cutter...man I dislike the Yankees
Chizzie (Thornton, Co)
Dr. J's slam dunk from the top of the key is the best sports move
Abel (Oxnard, CA)
kobe has that pump and spin move that is nice too.
mari (ok)
sky hook
Trevor (Clinton Township, MI)
Reischea, Dennis Rodman was #91 in Chicago.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Reischea: I thought the same thing about the numbers, at least for guys wearing double digits.
Loopy (usa)
A right from Tyson if he hits is dominate.
Daniel T. (Louisville)
Mannings audibles at the line... nobody can counter them cause i think noone knows what they mean
john (panama city bch, fl)
Jason- you forgot LeBrick's "Crab- dribble" AND Skip's "Crawfish Debate"
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
kobe dominates by drawing fouls
Joe (Atlanta)
I agree Ali's catch fraise
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Another nominee for most dominant move: Moses Malone's charging through three defenders while knocking them to the ground and not dribbling. I used to call it, "Moses parting the Red Sea."
Daniel T. (Louisville)
Daniel from Kentucky... noone could have said it better
Guy (Jacksonville)
What number would you give Tiger Woods? Numbers are not important.
jeff (bengalland)
girvins fingerroll wow that was unstoppable
Demetric (Orlando)
Chizzie, the Hawks will win the East this year
clint (seattle)
dr j never jumpedf rom top of the key srry
Abel (Oxnard, CA)
i think peyton manning showing up for the game is the most dominate.
clint (seattle)
freethrow line yes but many can do that now
Chizzie (Thornton, Co)
Daniel T (Louisville) I think your right, maybe his own teams doesnt know either...j/k...LOL
DAVID (Bowie,Md)
DJ, THE MOVIE 2C IS "2012".....HAPPY WKND....
Africa (Brooklyn, NY)
Nolan Ryan's fast ball?
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
ok, sounds good, so you are a great analysist and deserve a raise?
Trevor (Clinton Township, MI)
If Tiger Woods had to wear a number....its really quite simple....#1.....
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
The Jim Halpert spin serve (I hope some of you get that one).
Reischea (11:33 AM)
Its funny JB, I remember asking my hoops coach about it and I thought he told me the same thing.
Daniel T. (Louisville)
If tiger woods ever wore a number it would be invisible... cause noone could touch it
Hayden (Logan, Utah)
pro sports are hard to watch because of all of the ref involvement. what happened? Why? makes me sad
Joe (Atlanta)
Mike Tyson's overhand right
Chizzie (Thornton, Co)
Nuggets WILL beat the Lakers tonight. Melo will have 40+ points tonight...GO NUGGETS!!!
Rick (Pittsburgh)
who cares about boxing jay
Hulk Hogan (LA)
My leg drop is the most dominate move in sports.
Demetric (Orlando)
Fear the Hawks
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
Tiger's putting stroke under pressure is a pretty good move
jeff (bengalland)
woods number would be 20 thats how many majors before he calls it quits
Daniel (Kentucky)
best move in sports is old school George Foreman's right hand
Daniel T. (Louisville)
Your probably right Chizzie
john (panama city bch, fl)
Kobe doesn't draw fouls- they're a gift from the refs! Gasol, and LeBrick are alternate recipients...
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
I used to officiate youth leagues and they all wore numbers that were less than six.
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Don't forget about Moses missing three times on purpose so he could rack up those offensive rebounds.
Rick (Pittsburgh)
Final Four teams this year anyone ? i know it early
Africa (Brooklyn, NY)
WHEN we will get Pac-Man vs Pretty Boy Floyd?!
Reischea (11:34 AM)
Gotta get back to you on that one. Sorry Mark.

Mark, Who's your Heisman guy?
Joe (Atlanta)
Evander Holyfield's left hook
Sporttown (Indianapolis)
rei..u play b-ball @ Usc ?
Rajesh (Atlanta)
I rather see cotto vs. Floyd than pac vs floyd
Reischea (11:35 AM)
No. I stopped after high school.
lawrence (stowe vt)
When I take off from the freethrow line I can get net
BENGALBILL (CINCINNATI)
pete rose's head first slides
willie (topeka basement)

Roller (Kentucky)
I guess no one got the joke Ty Cobb's # number! He didn't wear a #.
mod (11:35 AM)
you're a riot
Umor (Detroit)
Barry Sanders Juke. Broke alot of Dlinemen legs with that move.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Bud Selig's negotiating skills are most dominant. They gave us a year without a World Series, something not even war could do.
clint (seattle)
now mr snapy from da big unit was very nasty pitch i gotta say
Little Mac (Nintendo)
My star punch is most dominate.
Reischea (11:36 AM)
I did high jump for the Trojans though. Even contributed points to the Women of Troy's first EVER Pac-10 championship.
tomwit nj [via mobile]
Yes I said it. Some day an NBA youngster will make us all forget about MJ. I know its heresy. When I was a kid it was Wilt Chamberlain. Nobody that big and that good. Now those type players are common. Players get better every year. There are nn crystal balls. And the world goes round. Plus it would be sad to think that we have witnessed the best tha there could be and thats that.
Daniel T. (Louisville)
best move in sports.... benching roy williams
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Roller: I got it. I felt no need to respond but I thought it was pretty good.
Demetric (Orlando)
Rick; Final Four Teams : Georgia Tech, Duke, North Carolina, UCF
Rick (Pittsburgh)

Hayden (Logan, Utah)

J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
You know after a slow start and despite no MQF, this chat has been solid today. Well done, people!
Guy (Jacksonville)
The QB for Nevada should be in the Heisman running, the kids a monster TD machine.
mike m (canton oh)

jeff (bengalland)
rick and keeping the hit king out of hof

Demetric (Orlando)
The best move in sports might sound crazy but hear me out; Brad Lidge smoking Carlos Beltran in that 07 NLCS game....nasty
Daniel (Kentucky)
c'mon rock u know it's the stunner
Trevor (Clinton Township, MI)
People, the word is DOMINANT, not dominate...pet peeving over here lol.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
The Jay Cutler Pick. It has single-handedly brought the Bears to their knees.
Joe (Atlanta)
PBF would beat Pacman just as he has done everyone else. It woild take him a couple of rounds to figure him out and once that happens, it's over
Rajesh (Atlanta)
I would tip my hat to Mayweather if he had fought Cotto two years ago..Instead of ducking...If he won-- great, but you can't say Mayweather is great and never ducked...
Loopy (usa)
Skip pounding the table is dominate and intimidating.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Reischea is like an onion. Just so many layers.

Jason (Morgantown, WV)
The Shaq dunk is definitely dominate.
mendy (okla.)

Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
You are going to see a lot more players like Portis and Westbrook missing games for concussions...even though Goodell poo-pooed it at the congressional hearings a couple weeks back
Umor (Detroit)
Oh Pistol Pete hand passing. Magic before there was a Magic.
Africa (Brooklyn, NY)
Hayden: USU? stop
mike m (canton oh)
anything bruce lee did was dominate
James (Denver)
You can say Bill Russell was the greatest defensive player ever but he wasnt a very complete player . Wilt was 10 times the scorer Russell was . Having the most championships doesnt make you the best ever . Is Trent Dilfer better then Dan Marino ?
Reischea (11:47 AM)
Sorry JB. I had to yield on Friday. Although, I was very tempted, cuz you're right... it was a slow start. We'll get back to the off subject stuff again, its just probably gonna be a Tuesday or wednesday thing, We'll see.
Reischea (11:48 AM)
Thoughts on MQF will likely change with college football nearing bowl season and all.
Africa (Brooklyn, NY)
Why should we trust anyone the Oakland Raiders are 'impressed' with?
Alex (Detroit)
Raiders are a mess. They should release, trade all of their players and just start over.
tomwit nj [via mobile]
Just rewatched Deniro and Goodman in Men of Honor about first African American Navy Diver the late Carl Brashear. Never realized he was uncle to NHL Player Donald Brashear. Small world. But I wouldnt want to paint it.
Reischea (11:49 AM)
Is that true.... wow, how neat.
mari (ok)
yeah release them all and send seymour back to the pats
Reischea (11:52 AM)
Tomwit, thank you for the history lesson (Donald Brashear's great-uncle). That is a really neat little factoid. I mean it, thanks.
Umor (Detroit)
Well Have a great weekend y'all, Go Michigan.
Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)
Secretariat had some pretty dominant moves in the 1973 Triple Crown year
Alex (Detroit)
Everytime Skip dis anyone pro player i just roll my eyes and say " What have you done in your nfl career?" oh right..
Africa (Brooklyn, NY)
Until Al Davis turns over personnel decisions to....well anyone else on the continental US, the Raiders will never improve
Roller (Kentucky)
Jay- how are ur Buckeyes looking for the upcoming b-ball season?
mike m (canton oh)

Reischea (11:54 AM)
He may not want to turn things over to Randy Lerner.
mod (11:54 AM)

Caddy Mike (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida)

Jason (Morgantown, WV)
Wasn't Marty McSorely's uncle the Deniro character in that film?
James (Denver)
Your right on Chizzie the Avalanche retiring Ray Bourques number after playing here for less then 2 years is the stupidest number retired in all sports . Except maybe the Heat retiring 23 for Jordan .
Chad Ochocinco (Ohio)
Thats so bad that the NFL takes time out to suspend me for being competitive.. I guess thats why people stay in college or go to the AFL.
mendy (okla.)
Skip that's sooner talk.......way off.
Jason (Morgantown, WV)
They should retire Secretariat's number across the board.
