Bill Conley (3:01 PM)
I'm here ready to go with the chat; fire away!
Jacob (Pickerington Ohio )
Who does Ohio State have the best chance of landing: Seantrel Henderson, Lamarcus Joyner, or Jordan Hicks?
Bill Conley (3:02 PM)
Good question. I would say the Buckeyes have the best chance to get Hicks; second would be Joyner (Duron Carter may have influence); Henderson would be third.
Cole (Notre Dame)
Where can we expect Brandon Linder to commit to shortly, does it seem we have the inside edge? Also, how badly do you think our latest lost (Navy) will affect our positions with the top prospects we are targeting (Henderson, Joyner, Prater, Nix)?
Bill Conley (3:05 PM)
I think ND has a great chance of getting Linder in the near future. The next couple of games may have a major influence in terms of the future of Weis; thus the future of the recruiting class. The advantage ND has, however, is the fact their great tradition carries a lot of weight.
Jordan (Pasadena Tx)
is Texas still in the mix for Jordan Hicks?
Bill Conley (3:07 PM)
No doubt about it, Texas as well as some SEC schools. It could end up between OSU and Texas.
Jay (Erie PA)
Will any of the players that saw Penn St. last weekend committ to Joepa?
Bill Conley (3:09 PM)
Not sure how many unofficials were there but their were two officials scheduled; running back Marcus Lattimore of South Carolina and wide receiver Kenny Stills of California. The Nittany Lions have a shot at Lattimore but Stills is a long shot with Oklahoma and Florida leading. Don't look for either to make a commitment anywhere before the first of December.
Ryan (Akron)
Do you think both Robert Bolden and Paul Jones will end up sticking with the Nittany Lions?
Bill Conley (3:10 PM)
I think both are solid as long as Joe Pa is still there and there is no reason to think he won't. Bolden fits in well to the PSU offense and Jones is from Pennsylvania.
Frank (Los Angeles)
Since Jordan James is going to commit tonight, any idea where he is going?
Bill Conley (3:12 PM)
He is a very talented athlete and whoever gets him will gain a great player. I think he will stay in-state so look for Cal or UCLA to win that recruiting battle.
Jeff (Myrtle Beach)
What players in the ESPN 150 from last year are having a good freshman year in the college ranks?
Bill Conley (3:15 PM)
A lot of those kids are contributing already. Some are Matt Barkley (USC), Manti Te'o (Notre Dame), Duron Carter (Ohio State). Jacobbi McDaniel and Greg Reid (Florida State) just to mention a few.
Bob (Harrrisburg, Pa)
Do you see Evan Hailes fitting in at PSU?
Bill Conley (3:17 PM)
Absolutely, he is a stout 6'1" 310 pound defensive lineman with strength and toughness. He should fit in well with the PSU tradition of powerful interior defensive linemen.
Jim (Houston)
Coach, how does a head coaching change effect recruiting?
Bill Conley (3:19 PM)
It all depends on the individual athlete and whether he chose the school because of the system, opportunity to play, closeness to home, tradition of the program, or the coaches. A coaching change may not have any effect if the school and the program were the main factors for the initial choice. The one position which usually pays attention more to a change is the quarterback because the system may change with a new staff.
Erik (Atlanta)
Do you think Georgia Tech will be better when Paul Johnson's recuits hit the field? Do you see them having a top 10 recuiting class, for the next couple of years? Will they be able to lock in some bigtime recuits?
Bill Conley (3:22 PM)
First of all, Paul does a great job of recruiting and coaching. I think he will and is attracting good players. He should get some very good running backs for his offense but I don't think they can haul in a top ten class on a regular basis; competition there is tough.
john (chicago)
tell me where theyre going: seastrunk, luc, powell, jeffcoat, hicks, latimore, floyd, joyner
Bill Conley (3:26 PM)
I have already mentioned some of these guys but here are some possibilities: Seastrunk-Auburn or USC; Luc-in state to FSU or Fla; Powell- Fla or USC; Jeffcoat- Texas or Arizona State; Floyd- Notre Dame/Ohio State or Penn State. Just guesses!
Mark (Minnesota)
is it possible for seantel henderson to stay in his home state of minnesota?
Bill Conley (3:27 PM)
Possible but not probable in my mind. Too many big name programs are after him.
Nittfan (Harrisburg, Pa.)
How good is Penn State's class
Bill Conley (3:28 PM)
PSU is having a very good recruiting year. To no ones surprise, the Nittany Lions along with Ohio State and Michigan are all doing well in the Big Ten.
James (Alabama)
How do you think Michael Dyer will fit into auburn's offense?
Bill Conley (3:29 PM)
Dyer is a great player that will fit into anybody's program.
Bill Conley (3:31 PM)
Thanks for all the great questions. See you next time!
