Hello everyone, thanks for all your questions. I am just about to get Reggie on phone.
Reggie Rankin (2:01 PM)
Before we get to all your questions, don't forget to watch the ESPNU signing day special 2-4:30.
With all the talk of Ohio State and UNC, where do you rank Memphis 2010 class? It seems to me that have a great guard class and added balance with Hippolyte Tsafack. Why no talk of great class new coach Pastner has recruited so far?
Reggie Rankin (2:04 PM)
Hello Trina, Memphis is a legit top 5 class in the country. They have done a great job in bringing in top perimeter players Barton and Jackson. Now Tsafack will give them an inside presence. Josh Pastner has done a great job recruiting near and far.
Dan Herbst (NY)
Reggie, Syracuse has a great recruiting class next year already and will have some good front court players returning. They could really use a great PG to run the show. I see they are involved with Brandon Knight and Josh Selby. What chance do you give them to land one of those players?
Reggie Rankin (2:06 PM)
Hey Dan, Syracuse's class is terrific. You are right on about their front court players. Also Dion Waiters can make plays with the ball in his hands, although he's not a true PG. They should have a better shot at landing Selby and if they do this already-great class goes to the next level.
Is Duke going to get Barnes? If not, who else do they have a realstic chance of signing?
Reggie Rankin (2:08 PM)
Hey Lee, I think Duke has a shot, but UNC is in the mix and you can't count out the Jayhawks. I see OU and Iowa State being outside chances as well.

Where do you think Trey Zeigler will end up?
Reggie Rankin (2:10 PM)
If he stays in Michigan, it may be the Wolverines. If Mich. St has scholarships available they will be in the mix as well. I also like UCLA because he's familiar with the coaches and his father was on Ben Hollins' staff -- so there is a level of comfort. He would be a great perimeter complement to Josh Smith, who just committed to the Bruins this week.
Brad M. (Marion, IN)
With Butler signing Khyle Marshall, ESPNU 100 from Florida, and the great year they should have this yr., do you see Butler becoming a player on the national recruting scene?
Reggie Rankin (2:12 PM)
Yes, I think Butler with their consistent success they have become a top-25 program. They have become the Gonzaga of the Midwest. The Bulldogs should be able to recruit the talent-rich, home state of Indiana and throughout the country because of their academic and basketball reputation.
Will Brandon Knight be a Jayhawk? And what kind of player is Roscoe Smith?
Reggie Rankin (2:14 PM)
I think KU has a shot at Knight. He is a good fit for their style of play and they have a great PG tradition. Smith is an excellent shooter who knocks down 3s in transition or comes off screens. He has a nice middle game and can make shots in bunches, when open. He is one of the better shooters in the Class of 2010.
Ey Reggie, how are you? My question: Which recruits will end up at Kansas? Do you think they have a shot at Barnes?
Reggie Rankin (2:18 PM)
Hey Kenneth, I'm doing fine. Thanks for your question. The way it stands now, Brandon Knight, Roscoe Smith, Doron Lamb and Julian Washburn are all in the mix for Kansas. As far as Barnes goes, I think they are probably third behind Duke and UNC, but it's never over until its over.
Is any info starting to leak out about where Harrison Barnes plans to commit to this afternoon?
Reggie Rankin (2:19 PM)
Hey Cliff, not yet but makes sure you tune in for the ESPNU recruiting special, which is airing now, and see it live. He should make his decision around 4:00 pm et
Reggie, What do you think of the job Anothny Grant has done at Alabama they are a small team right now maybe we can get us a 6-10 or 7'0 guy
Reggie Rankin (2:22 PM)
Hey Brad, Grant has done a great job and will continue to do a great job. He has experience in the SEC from his time as an assistant at Florida He is connected as a recruiter in the Southeast, especially his home state of Florida. He will fill the teams needs in a way Tide fans will be proud of as he gets himself established in Tuscaloosa.
T (San Francisco)
Marquette scored big by bringing in Vander Blue, can they add Tarik Black to the mix? Or perhaps Javaughn Pinkston?
Reggie Rankin (2:24 PM)
T, I agree Blue is a great get for the Golden Eagles. He is an immediate impact guard in the Big East. If they can add Black or Pinkston that would give them a physical forward who could compete immediately due to their toughness and aggressiveness. They have a legit shot at both.
Mike W (Chicago)
Where does Shelby end up going? Does Indiana have a shot to get him with his official visit this weekend?
Reggie Rankin (2:28 PM)
Yes, I think Selby is really considering KY, Syracuse and Kansas but Indiana is in the need for a marquis PG and i'm sure they will show Selby how much playing time is available on his visit this weekend, which could make things interesting -- especially after losing out on Kyrie Irving.
Jeremy (Los Angeles)
How do you see UCLA's class shapping up?
Reggie Rankin (2:30 PM)
I think your class is shaping up great. Tyler Lamb is already in the fold with Josh Smith, so the Bruins are off to a great start. Lamb is a great wing player with a great basketball IQ. Smith is an explosive true center that gives them an instant post presence. They have done a good job of continuing to work the West Coast.
Bill (St. Paul)
How good is Harrison Barnes, just as a gauge, if he were in the John Wall class where would he rank and how does he project to the NBA?
Reggie Rankin (2:33 PM)
Hey Bill, Barnes is a special talent. He is a combo of size, skill and basketball IQ. He reminds me of a cross between Grant Hill and Paul Pierce. If he was in John Wall's class, he is still a legit top-10 player. He has definite NBA potential, but lets let him play his first college game.
Terrance Jones updates?
Reggie Rankin (2:35 PM)
Hey Matt, Jones is continuing to be a hot commodity. KY and OU have made strong pushes and west coast favorite UCLA is also in contention. But I'm sure the Ducks and Huskies are in hot pursuit.
devin (whtimore lake mi )
reggie what kind of player is evan smotrycz
Reggie Rankin (2:41 PM)
Hey Devin, Michigan fans are going to love watching Evan compete. He is a perfect fit for John Beilein's system because of his tremendous size, skill and basketball IQ. He was a treat to watch play this past spring and summer.
Dan H. (OKC, OK)
It seems that Jeff Capel has elevated Oklahoma's recruiting since he arrived. Will they soon be recruiting on the same level as Kansas and Texas?
Reggie Rankin (2:44 PM)
I think they already are and he established his recruiting last year with his signings of Tiny Gallon and Tommy Mason-Griffin. He is right there and should be able to compete easily with Texas and Kansas. He has followed it up with two ESPNU 100 players in 2010 class -- No. 18 Cameron Clark and guard T.J. Taylor.
Better passer: Kyrie Irving or Kendall Marshall?
Reggie Rankin (2:47 PM)
In my opinion, Marshall is the best passer I have seen in the 2010 class. Irving is second Lenzell Smith is third. I have seen Marshall dominate a game, while taking minimal shots.
Any news on possible recruits for Umass?
Reggie Rankin (2:52 PM)
Daniel, UMass has landed Maxie Esho who is a PF that will provide them a pretty versatile player rebounds and plays inside and out and finishes around the basket. Plays with good energy and urgency should be an immediate contributor.
Tyler (New York)
Where do you think Tobias Harris will land?
Reggie Rankin (2:54 PM)
Harris is being recruited by a who's who of college programs -- syracuse, kentucky, louisville and maryland are the four I think that are in the mix the heaviest.
Virginia back on there way to the top?
Reggie Rankin (2:57 PM)
I think Virginia has one of the brightest young coaches in the country, Tony Bennett. They have made their presence felt on the recruiting trail and they are taking the right steps to getting back to an elite level.
How good is Reggie Bullock? I haven't seen him play in person but he looks to be extremely strong and have a great jump shot.
Reggie Rankin (2:59 PM)
Bullock is a terriffic talent. He is a wing player with great size. He can score in transition, from behind the arc, mid-range pullups and is big enough to finish at the rim. He reminds me of Atlanta Hawks wing Joe Johnson.
Reggie Rankin (3:01 PM)
I have heard they are in the mix for Roscoe Smith, that will provide them a tremendous shooter and PF Tony Mitchell that would provide them a rebounding PF. Both would be great fits in John Thompson's Princeton style offense, if they were fortunate enough to land one or both.
Brian (White Plains)
Dion Waiters sounds a bit like Paul Harris with a jump shot. Fair assessment?
Reggie Rankin (3:02 PM)
I think Waiters is a powerfull combo guard that can make scoring plays with the ball in his hands for himself or others. Although he is not a true PG, he reminds me at times of Dwayn Pearl Washington.
Horatio (Durham, NC)
Reggie, give me a up-and-coming coach who is making a name on the recruiting circuit.
Reggie Rankin (3:06 PM)
I think you have to look at Josh Pastner at Memphis and Scott Drew at Baylor. Memphis has a top-5 player in the 2010 class in Will Barton and a top-25 player in Joe Jackson. While Baylor lands the No. 3 player in the country in Perry Jones. Also, Darrin Horn at South Carolina is someone to pay attention to because he ahs landed two top 100 players and has a 5 player class to date.
Reggie Rankin (3:09 PM)
