Chat with Dhani Jones

Jones is going into his fourth season with the Bengals.
Welcome to SportsNation! On Friday, we will have Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Dhani Jones stopping by to chat football and his show "Dhani Tackles the Globe."
As an NFL veteran, Dhani Jones has been a leader on and off the field. On the field, Jones lead the Bengals last season with 113 total tackles and was tied for third with 3.5 sacks. Off the field he founded Five Star Ties in order to "bring the traditional look to life and give it a fresh image."
Along with being a stylish dresser, Jones travels the world in his show Dhani Tackles the Globe in which he finds the love of sports to be universal, providing common ground wherever he lands.
Follow Dhani on Twitter @dhanijones and be sure to watch "Dhani Tackles the Globe" Monday nights at 11 p.m. ET on the Travel Channel.
Send your questions now and join Jones Friday at 3:30 p.m. ET!

Buzzmaster (3:33 PM)
Dhani will be here in a minute! I can hear him in the hall.
Mac (CT)
Did that bike ride in Italy suck as much as it looked like it did. Impressive that you finished it. Really cool show, which sport did you find most challenging?
Dhani Jones (3:34 PM)
That was one of the most challenging sports. It was difficult, but it was probably the most amazing cultural experiences I have ever had, just being there.
RJ (Boston)
Big D-hani!! Love your work man. Having played rugby, did you find any of the strategies there-in could be employed by an NFL team? Like.... use a kicker who can run, tackle and handle the ball... ?
Dhani Jones (3:35 PM)
There's definitely some strategies from rugby that can be used in football, but that's appropriate because football essentially derived from rugby. It's all one.
Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)
What do you think of Super Bowl XLVIII to be held at Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford,NJ?
Dhani Jones (3:35 PM)
I think it's awesome. I think it's exciting for the city. I think it's exciting for the fans, but it's even more exciting for the taxi cab drivers and TLC.
aiden (muncie, in)
how many ore seasons of dhani takles the globe?
Dhani Jones (3:36 PM)
Not sure. I'm hoping for a third season. If you want to make that happen, get together as a group and send lots of letters to the Travel Channel.
Bill (Washington, DC)
Better gig: Starting NFL lineman or host of a travel channel show?
Dhani Jones (3:36 PM)
Thank God I don't have to decide, because I can do both.
Matthew (Columbia, NJ)
Hey Dhani, what's the biggest difference between playing with the Bengals compared to your time in Philadelphia?
Dhani Jones (3:37 PM)
It's just different. Two different cities. Two different personalities. Both amazing experiences.
Ryan (Massachusetts)
What was your favorite place to visit
Dhani Jones (3:37 PM)
New Zealand. Brazil. Italy. Three of the most amazing countries.
RJ (Boston)
Mr, Jones!!! Love your show and a lot of what I've read about you and your philosophy on living. Is it true you used to dress (way-way-way) down and play music for pennies in the subways of NYC?
Dhani Jones (3:39 PM)
Absolutely. No one's above playing music in the subway. I always sing about what's the worst case scenario, singing for dollars in the subway isn't that bad.
Dave (Richmond, VA)
It's unfortunate that the Bengals don't get their due for being undefeated in the division, winning the AFC North, and having a solid foundation of character players on the team. How do you guys as players in the locker room deal with all of the negative spin?
Dhani Jones (3:39 PM)
We don't really let it effect us. We just let the negative spin spin out of our hands and control what we can.
Devin (Syracuse NY)
Besides yourself, who is the best linebacker in the NFL? and why?
Dhani Jones (3:40 PM)
Keith Rivers and Ray Maualuga.
Matt (Sterling Heights, MI)
Dhani, give us a glimpse of a former Wolverine's feelings towards the current scandal in Ann Arbor.
Dhani Jones (3:40 PM)
There once was a time...there will be another time...but right now, it's not the time.
Craig G. (Fairfield, California)
Hey Dhani, I enjoy your show and the radio interviews you do. What is your favorite "non-mainstream" sport?
Dhani Jones (3:41 PM)
Cricket. Cricket is awesome. Probably one of the best sports.
Bob (Los Angeles, California)
Dhani....love the show. I really enjoyed the cycling show that was on a couple of weeks ago. Do your travels and production demands keep you away from the Bengals OTA's that are going on now?
Dhani Jones (3:42 PM)
I go to the practices, but I don't go to the offseason training.
Greg (MN)
Totally agree on Italy being one of the best places. Could you imagine playing in the Colliseum?
Dhani Jones (3:42 PM)
I think that would be awesome. I think they should have the rugby, football championships in the Colliseum. They should bring all of the sports that originated in Europe and bring them to the grandest stage of all.
CK (Macon, Ga.)
Dhani are you into Basketball? Who do you think will be in the Finals? Me At first I thought Lakers & (my) Celtics, now I think it may be Celtics
Dhani Jones (3:43 PM)
What do you mean? The World Cup?
Lane (Kukuihaele, HI)
You played with Charles Woodson when he won the Heisman at Michigan. Should Suh have been the 2nd defensive player ever to have won that award?
Dhani Jones (3:44 PM)
Charles Woodson is a Michigan man. End of discussion.
Jennifer (Front Royal, VA)
Hi Dhani! Hope you are well. Would you do Sumo Wrestling in Japan? Japan is a nice country.
Dhani Jones (3:45 PM)
Sumo is awesome. If we could get out there to do that, I would love to go to Japan. The only difficult thing with is with Sumo, they only let a certain number of people into the stables, so it's a little harder to set up.
nick (dublin, ga.)
do u think michigan will have a winning season?
Dhani Jones (3:45 PM)
If Michigan does not have a winning season, we will next year because we will have a new head coach.
Ben (Albuquerque)
Hey Dhani, thanks for chatting. Have loved you since you were a Wolverine. So what do your Bengals teammates think of your globetrotting curiosity?
Dhani Jones (3:46 PM)
They enjoy the show. Every Tuesday they come in after watching the show Monday night at 11 p.m. on the Travel Channel. For the most part most of them watch it.
Brad (Gadsden,Alabama)
Dhani, Do you have any pre-game rituals?
Dhani Jones (3:47 PM)
Oatmeal is a key to any sustainable diet.
Brian (Richmond, Ky.)
Since you're tight with the Travel Channel guys, how about getting the Man vs. Food guy to Cincy or central Kentucky? I'd love to see him tear into some Gold Star coneys.
Dhani Jones (3:47 PM)
He's crazy. All of us who work at the Travel Channel are quite close. We all hang out. Know each other. Bourdain is a little elusive, but he's cool.
Ryan (Massachusetts)
If you didn't play professional football what other sports would you have tried?
Dhani Jones (3:48 PM)
Tennis. Soccer. Swimming. I probably could have been a professional snowboarder.
Ben (Albuquerque)
Is the Bengals defense excited about the prospect of someone other than Big Ben starting for the Steelers?
Dhani Jones (3:49 PM)
Whoever Pittsburgh puts in at QB will be a talented individual. Ben is a talented individual, but there are others out there that have equal talents. But it's more the team we get ready for than the said QB.
Ben (Albuquerque)
Any concerns from the Bengals' front office that you'll sustain an injury doing the show that would affect your ability to perform on the gridiron?
Dhani Jones (3:50 PM)
In the offseason it's important to do as much training and exercise as possible. I choose my TV show as a crosstraining platform to become a better player.
Brian (Richmond, Ky.)
What did the guys in the Bengals locker room think about Ocho doing Dancing With The Stars?
Dhani Jones (3:51 PM)
People don't dance anymore. All they do is this...all they do is this.
Dustin (Missouri)
Is Steven Jackson the best all around in the league and what are your thoughts on him
Dhani Jones (3:53 PM)
Steven Jackson or Ray Rice. Rice is another example of another great all around back. I'd take Ray Rice.
Dhani Jones (3:54 PM)
Don't forget to watch "Dhani Tackles the Globe" Monday night on Travel Channel at 11 p.m. ET. Go out and get your passport and we'll see you on the road.
