KC Joyner (4:00 PM)
Good afternoon! Let's talk some fantasy football!
KC! Did we get this one yesterday?Frank: I'm single! I love being single! I haven't had this much sex since I was a Boy Scout leader! [Music stops playing. Everyone stops talking and stares at him] Frank: [to everybody] I mean at the time I was dating a lot.See any stats/metrics that merit TB Defense being a worthy pickup for the playoffs?
KC Joyner (4:02 PM)
I think that was one Leslie Nielsen movie quote that didn't make it into yesterday's chat - very funny! RE: TB's fantasy playoff value, considering that they play Detroit in week 15 and the Lions might be sporting a 3rd string QB, they could definitely be worth a lineup spot.
Rick Bobby (If you aint first, your last!)
Since I live by that motto and am looking to set my team for playoff championship (14-16). Would you trade Megatron or Wayne for Lloyd in a ppr?
KC Joyner (4:03 PM)
Either of those two for Lloyd is a great deal, even in a PPR league.
Ok KC I need you here. Out of the 6 weeks they both have played I went with matchups and rankings and have been wrong 5 out of 6 times. This week is it Eli or Big Ben?
KC Joyner (4:04 PM)
Eli all the way. It comes down to whether to play an injured QB or a QB with WR injuries. Always play the healthy player, which in this case is Eli.
Hi KC, can you pick one of the following as my flex play - Jonathan Stewart, Hines Ward or Johnny Knox. Thanks!
KC Joyner (4:05 PM)
Always good to hear from London! Knox is the best option there, as he is due to face Alphonso Smith, the CB who got torched on Thanksgiving. Even if the Lions bench him, it would be a good matchup for Knox.
Strategy question. I've learned two things from reading all the chats over the course of the season: 1. don't worry about your opponent's players and 2. kickers don't matter just pick one. However do you recommend picking up a kicker to reduce your opponent's big threat, especially the QB? For example if your opponent has Brady picking up Graham to make his passing td's 3 pts, rushing 5 pts, and reducing yardage points essentially if they kick fg's. Is this a sound strategy since you're just picking a kicker anyway? Thanks.
KC Joyner (4:07 PM)
It is one of the few kicker strategies that makes sense - you win something when your opponents win. Only caveat is that you lose points if your opponent does really badly, but that isn't a bad thing.
Harry Caray (The Moon)
If you were a hot dog...would you eat yourself? Also, which Bill will be the most productive for my flex spot this week...Steve Johnson or FJax? Or, start both and bench Megatron or McFadden?
KC Joyner (4:09 PM)
Quite a quandary on the hot dog question. Johnson has a better matchup than Megatron, so definitely go with him. Would take FJax over him and would take Johnson over FJax.
I know you hate repeat questions - but i tried yesterday and need your input for playoffs...i know you like kitna slightly over eli this week....why? and how about rest of the playoffs? thanks!!!
KC Joyner (4:10 PM)
Dominant presence at wideout - Eli has backup WRs and Kitna has Williams/Bryant/Austin to throw to. As long as that is the case, Kitna is probably a better play than Eli but as soon as Nicks and Smith return, Eli's the better choice.
Aside from Revis-Island, look at Megatron's production. What is the deal with all the Megatron hate?
KC Joyner (4:10 PM)
With you on this. Will point out that he does have a 3rd string QB this week, so that may be part of the concern for some fantasy owners.
*SINGING* "All the bombs in the air!* KC with Matthews coming back and Tolbert nursing a hand injury, would starting Brandon Jackson be an option this week?
KC Joyner (4:12 PM)
Too funny! Definitely don't trust Mathews, as he just hasn't proven he can handle the physical rigors of playing in the NFL. Starting Jackson over Tolbert also makes sense due to the "always start a healthy player over an injured one" rule.
KC my friend! As always, your advice brings peace to Eternia! Here is the latest dilemma at Castle Grayskull: I would like to start Gates & J Ford as my flex, but they both play in the 4 pm games. Would it be a smarter and safer play to start Gates and B Marshall at flex, and sub in Ford if Gates doesn't play? Please help. YOU HAVE THE POWER!!!
KC Joyner (4:13 PM)
Really not trusting Marshall right now, both from an attitude and an injury perspective. Ford's got a tough matchup but he'd be the choice for the starter spot either way.
Hi KC. Trying to win my division this weekend. Who would you play this week? Malcom Floyd,Jacoby Ford, or Danario Alexander? It is a PPR league and would be a flex. Thanks for your help.
KC Joyner (4:14 PM)
Tough call - would probably go with Floyd given the state of that offense and how much upside he offers, especially if Asomugha is out.
Derek Anderson (Phoenix)
I put my heart and soul into this chat. It's not funny and I need to know which players to target as my deadline is today. It's fine!
KC Joyner (4:15 PM)
Thought the funniest comment on that one was when Bill Simmons tweeted how that was Anderson's Coors Light audition tape - about fell on the floor laughing!
Guerthaniel (New Mexico)
Are you worried at all by Peyton Mannings recent woes?
KC Joyner (4:16 PM)
Yes from the standpoint that he might finally be showing a bit of signs of age. No from the standpoint that he is a must start against a bad Dallas secondary.
He- Man (Home)
Do I have to post something with He-Man in it to get my question answered? You always answer those, Fitzpatrick or Freeman and Garcon or Boldin?
KC Joyner (4:18 PM)
It isn't He-Man per se that gets one to the front of the list - it is any funny/well-themed question. We've covered tons of movies and other material through the season, so just find something interesting to say along with the question and it is much more likely to get posted. Fitz and Boldin.
Dr. Jim "Playoffs" Mora (New Orleans)
You can tell me, I'm a doctor. 1 WR and 1 flex from SRice, Blount, James Jones, Obomanu, Welker.
KC Joyner (4:20 PM)
I can't for another two hours! Just kidding - Obomanu and Welker.
Derek Anderson (I'm not even worth talking about anymore)
KC! Quick PPR Flex question. Goodson/Garcon/Floyd. Ready, set, go...
KC Joyner (4:21 PM)
Hey now, Anderson's situation is quite humorous - he was laughing and now everyone else is. Like Floyd's matchup a lot but Goodson is the way to go on that one.
Herm Edwards (New Jersey)
I'M PLAYING TO WIN THE GAME!(And I Have AP, FJax, DMC, and Gerhart. Which 3 should I start? Stupid to play both AP and Toby?)
KC Joyner (4:23 PM)
Had a Mr. Inside/Mr. Outside radio segment on the Brian Kenny Show w/Herm a couple of nights ago - good guy. Not stupid to play AP and Toby versus Buffalo, but who to sit? Probably should go with AP, FJax and DMC and hope DMC breaks out again.
Steve Johnson (I will not Forget this Answer)
I praise you 24/7 KC!!! And this how you do me!!! You expect me to learn from this???How??? I'll never forget this ANSWER!! Ever!! Thx Tho. Sit one... Mike Tolbert, Fred Jackson or Mario Manningham?
KC Joyner (4:24 PM)
Very creative, although I actually never hope to see anything near that kind of post directed my way. Sit Tolbert due to the injury.
Randy Moss (Nashville)
I'm going to try this week. I promis. Start me
KC Joyner (4:25 PM)
He might, but there is no way he should be started until after he show that this is the case.
Feris Buheler (My day off )
Hey KC, Cameron and I were wondering how to start this week...1 of these 3. Bradshaw, T jones, or LT. Im playing Rooney, really need the W! Thanks KC!
KC Joyner (4:26 PM)
Mrs. Scientist and I were just talking about that movie last night. Jones is the way to go in that one, as Denver can't stop anyone on D.
Kim Kardashian (Beverly Hills)
Which NFL receiver should I date next...and start in FF:Floyd or Manningham?
KC Joyner (4:27 PM)
TFS giving Kim Kardashian dating advice - just not a good idea! For FF advice, however, the recommendation is Floyd.
Not that creative (NY)
For all the other non-humorous people out there, help me out man. I have AP. I'm worried. I picked up Gerhart. My other running backs are BJGE and LT. Would you pair Gerhart with AP over LT or BJGE? Help a non-funny brother out.
KC Joyner (4:28 PM)
Give yourself credit - taking the "I'm not creative" approach is creative! Go with BJGE this week - barring bad weather, that will be a high scoring contest.
KC Joyner (4:28 PM)
Relatively speaking for Jets-Patriots, that is. Thinking 27-20.
Candace Flynn (Tri-State Area)
Mommmm!! KC is doing a fantasy chat and not answering my question...Who to start at RB2 and flex...Goodson, JStewart, Steve Johnson or Austin?
KC Joyner (4:30 PM)
A Phineas and Ferb reference - that works! Go with Goodson and Johnson.
Elmo (Sesame Street)
Elmo loves cowboys. But Elmo wants to know which Cowboy KC likes better this week - Mr Miles Austin or Mr Felix Jones?
KC Joyner (4:31 PM)
First time Elmo reference here, but my kids are fans of his, so it works! Austin.
Frank the Tank (College)
WE'RE GOING STREAKING!!!! Orton or Cutler? Pick 2 of Sid Rice, Crabtree, and James Jones. My playoff life depends on you.
KC Joyner (4:32 PM)
Another new movie reference - breaking new ground today! Orton, Rice and Jones (don't like Crabtree's matchup).
Phineas Flynn (Tri-State Area)
KC I know what I'm going to do today. I'm going to ask you if Ben Obomanu should sit in place of Earl Bennett this Sunday.
KC Joyner (4:33 PM)
Nope - Obomanu is on the kind of hot streak you have to ride out until the wave crashes.
Just a Bill (Sittin' Here on Capitol Hill)
Tax cuts for millionaires or Unemployment Insurance extension? Drop A Hernandez (keeping Cooley) to pick up Freeman as a backup to Big Ben? Would you play Freeman over Ben this week?
KC Joyner (4:34 PM)
Schoolhouse Rock rules! Got the DVD of all of the SR episodes and my kids love it - Conjunction Junction being the favorite. Would play Freeman over Ben this week, even if that meant dropping a TE.
Johnny Fontane (the "Don's Office)
I don't know what to do... PPR Flex...pick 3 from DMAC, DEZ, B Jacobs, Obomanu & Westbrook... You can act like a man
KC Joyner (4:36 PM)
As long the Don doesn't slap me when asking this question! Go with Dez, Obomanu and Jacobs.
I've been on 3 chats this week trying to get some help...H-E-L-P-P-L-E-A-S-E!!!!!WRs: m. manningham, m. wallace, m. austin or m. williams (south)QB: should I dare start Orton over Brees?
KC Joyner (4:38 PM)
Not sure how many WRs you need - Austin rates first on that list. And don't start Orton over Brees - Orton has a great matchup but Brees will be facing an injury riddled Bengals secondary.
Ricky Bobby (Running around in my underwear)
HELP ME TOM CRUISE! HELP ME OPRAH! HELP ME KC! Would starting Reggie Bush over Donald Brown cause me to crash and burn?
KC Joyner (4:39 PM)
I've only seen bits and pieces of that movie but laughed at all that I saw! Wouldn't trust any Indy RB right now, starting Bush over one of them is a good move, especially considering the state of the Bengals D (Saints probably put up 40 on them).
Sorry about that, I needed 2
KC Joyner (4:40 PM)
Would go Manningham for the other.
Bill Simmons (MAN UP TIME) (booktour stop #238)
to all of you jackwagons in namby pamby land, MAN UP and stop begging for KC to answer your question - you mommas boys!
KC Joyner (4:41 PM)
R. Lee Ermey rules! Full Metal Jacket is a great movie.
KC Joyner (4:42 PM)
Will answer any fantasy football question if anyone can say how Ermey landed that role.
Rod Tidwell (Show me the Money)
You are hanging on by a very thin thread and I dig that about you! KC, now show me the money. SHOW ME THE MONEY! Win and I'm in. I'm having difficulty deciding which receivers I go with this week. I need to pick two of the following: R. Moss, Floyd, Rice, and M. Wallace. I can also pick up White or Alexander (Stl.) off the waiver wire. You advice is greatly appreciated.
KC Joyner (4:43 PM)
Mrs. Scientist was watching that movie again last week. She didn't remember watching it the first time (many years ago) but liked it so much it is now becoming one of those flicks she'll watch again and again. Go with Floyd and Rice, although playing White over Rice could make sense if Collie does not play.
Google (internet land)
gotta love WkipediaErmey also served as the technical advisor on the film. Initially, he was only intended to be the technical advisor, but Kubrick changed his mind after Ermey put together an instructional tape to convince Kubrick he was the right person for the role, in which Ermey went on an extended hair-raising drill instructor tirade towards several Royal Marines cast as extras, all the while being pelted by oranges and tennis balls, and managing to do so without repeating himself, stopping, or even flinching
KC Joyner (4:44 PM)
No question with this one but that is the answer! Ermey getting pelted by oranges and he doesn't even flinch. If there is a Youtube video of that, it would be an all-time classic.
R. Lee Ermey (Not in namby-pamby land)
He performed a demonstration on videotape in which he yelled obscene insults and abuse for 15 minutes without stopping, repeating himself or even flinching - despite being continuously pelted with tennis balls and oranges. Stanley Kubrick was so impressed that he cast Ermey as Hartman. (h/t IMDB)Felix or Tomlinson?
KC Joyner (4:45 PM)
OK, this one has a question to go along with it! LT is the way to go, as NE is on pace to allow the most passing yards in NFL history and the Jets should be able to put up points against them.
Ricky Bobby (If you aint first, your last!)
KC help from earlier question; Which do I deal Wayne or Mega for Lloyd (ppr). Thank you!
KC Joyner (4:46 PM)
Dean Prichard (Headmaster)
He put together an instructional tape to convince Kubrick he was right for the role and got it. Goodson or Knox?
KC Joyner (4:47 PM)
Knox is the way to go. And I'm trying to get as many questions in as possible since today is such an important week.
Thing (Fantastic 4)
Choose one please Lynch, Dixon, Choice or Best. Sad but what's a rockhead to do?
KC Joyner (4:47 PM)
Would go with Dixon, rockhead!
pick 2 WRs .5 PPR... Bess,Ward,Crabtree, JJones, DAlexander? This answer will make or break my season
KC Joyner (4:48 PM)
Gonna go quick from here on out. Bess and Jones.
Jose (New Braunfels, TX)
Just need one baby! Obomanu (minus Williams), M Thomas (minus MSW) or Danraio Alexander.
KC Joyner (4:49 PM)
Its my first week of playoffs, help a brother out!! Jacoby Ford or Brandon Jacobs at the flex?
KC Joyner (4:49 PM)
Jacobs - don't like Ford's matchup.
Phil Elliott (North Dallas Forty)
"Better football through chemistry." which DST ...STL @ ARI or SEA vs. CAR?
KC Joyner (4:49 PM)
Best football movie of all time! St. Louis.
Ron Burgandy (San Diego)
Worried about Rice. Go with Toby, Forsett or Goodson instead?
KC Joyner (4:50 PM)
Go with Goodson. And stay classy!
Ben Obi One, Thomas (MSW out) or Austin
KC Joyner (4:51 PM)
Ben Obi One - very cool! Would go with Austin in this case, as he is facing the vertical coverage liability that is Kelvin Hayden.
Battlecat ROOOOOARRRR!!! (Eternia)
Miles, James jones, garcon or blair white - pick 2
KC Joyner (4:52 PM)
A roar right back at you! Miles and Jones are the way to go.
PICK ME!!!!!!!!!!! (stressed out law student)
LT or Goodson (PPR)
KC Joyner (4:53 PM)
Let's lower the stress level! Goodson.
Mrs TFS - help this guy out or no dinner (Kitchen)
my man KC - please helppick 2 for this week and playoffs - ronnie brown, benson, choice, bjax, bensonand you like mike williams tampa and manningham as my wr 2 and wr3 for thsi week and playoffs...have bowe as wr1
KC Joyner (4:54 PM)
Don't give her any ideas! Will stick with this week, as the playoffs question would take too long. Jackson and Choice.
It's like getting picked last in kickball.... (schoolyard)
Need One : R. Moss, LDT, Blount, Obomanu
KC Joyner (4:55 PM)
Forget what Nielsen movie that's from - one of the Naked Gun ones, right? Obomanu.
Dark Helmet (Space)
"Evil will always triumph over good because good is dumb"... Which bench WR to drop for playoffs; Harvin, S.Rice, H. Ward, VJax?
KC Joyner (4:56 PM)
Spaceballs rules! V Jax - sounds at this point like he won't be back at all this year.
Crying Wimp (Namby-Pampy Land)
KC, You know what makes me cry? When a fantasy guru won't pick 2 out of DMC, BJGE, Westbrook, Ryan Mathews, Ronnie Brown, Brandon Jacobs, Tashard Choice and Jonathan Stewart.
KC Joyner (4:57 PM)
Had to stop laughing before I could answer this! BJGE and Jacobs are the ways to go.
Looks like Im going 0-3 in chats today. 1 more try..........Steve Breaston or Sid Rice? And, would you play Gerhart over any one of those two for flex?
KC Joyner (4:59 PM)
We try to answer every question but when hundreds of them come in, it's impossible to get to them all. Would probably go Rice on the hope that he returns to being his old self. Would play Gerhart over them.
Yellow Makes Me Sad! (FLEX Hell)
TB Williams or NYG Jacobs as flex
KC Joyner (5:00 PM)
Have a tissue and go with Williams.
TFS RB CHARTS (cyber)
you have miami rbs and nyjets rbs rated above choice and bjax in your week 13 rb charts from last night....still pick choice and bjax?
KC Joyner (5:02 PM)
The RB charts are ranked by the highest RB on the team. Would take the Miami RBs over BJax and Choice, as Choice wasn't listed on the RB charts.
Sergeant Hartman (Boot Camp)
YOU LITTLE MAGGOT! YOU MAKE ME WANT TO VOMIT! Now that I have your attention, in a PPR, I need to sit one of D. Mason, D. Amendola or M. Thomas. I'm thinking Amendola but want to know what Private Jackwagon thinks about it.
KC Joyner (5:03 PM)
Private Jackwagon?! Sounds like an insult but I'll man up and say bench Thomas because Garrard is injured.
At the Buzzer! (Huntington)
Pick 2: LT, Shonn Greene, or Tony Gonzalez??!?!
KC Joyner (5:05 PM)
Like Gonzalez's matchup but would play LT and Greene due to thinking that will be a high scoring game - although keep an eye on the weather and put Gonzo in front of Greene if it is inclement. Well, it's been a lot of fun but Mrs. Scientist and I have two kids to get fed, so gonna have to run. Quick note - the TFS Twitter feed is @kcjoynertfs. Hope to see you all next week!
