KC Joyner (4:01 PM)
Good afternoon! Let's talk some fantasy football!
Try to be the first one in! Tamme or Daniels? Both seem relatively healthy after not being so...
KC Joyner (4:02 PM)
Would go with Tamme because the matchup is so incredibly favorable and because he's got more of a production history this year.
Tattoo (Fantasy Island)
I have a question about how players are ranked. I've notice that every week Matt Ryan is always ahead of Jon Kitna on the player rankings and every week Kitna has been out scoring Ryan on a consistent basis. Dallas offense throws the ball more then the Falcons. Do the rankers take into consideration the type of offenses these two players have as well as where they are playing and would you start Kitna over Ryan? They both have favorable matchups but Kitna is at home where Ryan is on the road where he struggles.
KC Joyner (4:04 PM)
Can't think of Fantasy Island without thinking of Ricardo Montalban. Kitna probably suffers from the fact that he is a backup and has to do more to prove he's worth being ranked high. He has to sell that his game is rich corinthian leather.
Homemade pizza tonight, need little help with that but need help with picking one of TJ, Ronnie Brown, and LDT. Also Garrard or Freeman???
KC Joyner (4:06 PM)
Homemade pizza rocks! My boys and Mrs. Scientist make that every so often and it beats delivery pizza. Would go with Brown and Freeman.
After being VJaxed by my opponent last night, I'm going to need strong production out of the WR spot this weekend. Which one do you sit - Welker, Austin or Britt?
KC Joyner (4:07 PM)
V Jax as a verb - definition - when a late season waiver pickup kills your fantasy team's playoff chances. Sit Britt out of that group.
Our coaching staff stinks. Are they going to feed me the ball this week because I complained all week long? If not should Austin or S. Rice replace me in the lineup?
KC Joyner (4:09 PM)
Note that pretty much everyone is ignoring Owens' comments because they know the Bengals situation isn't the fault of bad coaching. Austin is ranked higher on the TFS charts in any event, so start him in front of Owens.
Worst to First in 2 Leagues (Thanks to The Scientist!)
KC, Thank you for all your help this season made a big difference. to me. Now let's win one! PPR RB Benson or Blount? Also, is it worth starting Mike Thomas or Devon Bess over Holmes of Bowe this week in a PPR?
KC Joyner (4:10 PM)
Glad I could help! Blount over Benson. Could make a case for both Thomas or Bess but don't sit Bowe if Cassel ends up starting.
Bob (Newton, NJ)
KC! Long time follower... never answered (until now). Good options @ TE. Pick 1: Keller, Boss, Daniels.
KC Joyner (4:11 PM)
Thanks for following and taking part in the chat! Daniels has the most favorable matchup of the three and certainly looked healthy last week, so go with him.
Princess Leia (Over Tatooine)
Help me KC, you're my only hope! Who should I have as my playoff backup for Brady? Keep Orton, or drop him for Garrard, Kitna, Campbell or Collins?
KC Joyner (4:13 PM)
Never been contrasted to Obi-Wan before! Really like Garrard as the choice, as he has Washington and Houston in weeks 16 and 17.
Travis (New Jersey)
Now that McNabb got Shannahanned, what does that do for Ryan Torain's value? Should I go with Tashard Choice at the flex in my PPR league instead?
KC Joyner (4:14 PM)
Shanahaned - verb - to get benched by a coach for political reasons. That's two new words for the day! Torain is still likely to get more carries than Choice, so stick with him.
Mel Brooks (New York)
Yesterday you suggested that I roll with VJax instead of Mike Wallace. You were right; today, it's definitely good to be the king!
KC Joyner (4:15 PM)
Glad I could help! I only wish I had been totally on the VJax bandwagon for everyone - figured he might have a good game but three TDs wasn't on the radar screen.
Mr. Scientist...REALLY need some help with a D. Options are CAR, NYJ, or ATL. My gut says CAR...reason being , their sack numbers are very good, their turnovers are good, John Skelton is not very good and ARI always plays poorly at 1pm on the east coast. Am I crazy? What do you think??
KC Joyner (4:17 PM)
My kids get a kick out of both that movie and the classic cartoon. Atlanta is probably the best option, as their D has been fairly stingy of late.
I rode Orton and Lloyd all season, and certainly can't anymore. I already sat Lloyd for VJAX (Worked Amazingly) should I play Campbell over Cassle even if Cassle says he's good to go?
KC Joyner (4:18 PM)
This week has had more of question marks of this nature than any week I can remember. Guys who have been go to are killing their fantasy teams either with benchings or injuries. Would go with Campbell even if Cassel is good to go because Campbell has been producing well, is healthy and has a great matchup.
QB Project (UC Irvine Cal)
Need a Football Scientist to figure this equation out. Who do you go with in place of Rodgers and Orton: Collins or Campbell... or even Tebow or Flynn? Or is there a not highly owned option that looks interesting to you? Thanks!
KC Joyner (4:20 PM)
A California QB project - sounds like a place for a Football Scientist road trip! Mrs. Scientist has never been to California before, need to get here out there. Campbell is the choice - he's apt to hava a really good game this week.
Seth Maxwell (North Dallas Forty)
Hell, KC, we're all whores; might as well be the best. PPR Flex, Pick 3, from: Jennings (Flynn starts), Witten, Hightower, B.Jacobs & Garcon (Collie Plays)...Awe Shucks Poot...
KC Joyner (4:21 PM)
I'm just now going to send that film to a friend for Christmas - best football movie of all time. Witten, Hightower and Garcon are the ways to go, Poot.
Winston Churchill (Jolly Old England)
Lady Astor: "If you were my husband, I would poison your tea."Me: "If you were my wife, I'd drink it."Pick your poison! Drop Gates and pick up Owen Daniels, or keep Mr. Badfeet around just in case he gets healthy? Thanks!
KC Joyner (4:23 PM)
Never thought we'd get a Winston Churchill joke in the chat! My older brother Scott would be proud - he's a big Winston fan and has recommended good reading on him. Hate to drop Gates but it does look like Daniels is healthy and a healthy dominant player is always better to keep than an injured one.
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
What happens if Rex Grossman has a better game than Jay Cutler?
KC Joyner (4:24 PM)
Wouldn't that just stick in the craw of Bears fans?!
Will - guy making food references (That you're not digging)
I tried to be funny but I am still not. Can you help a brother out KC? My opponent just posted a goose egg with Vernon Davis and he's still got a 9 pt lead on me from last week. LT, Santana Moss, or Lance Moore. Also, Bo Scaife or Ben Watson. I believe in you KC!
KC Joyner (4:25 PM)
It may very well be that you are funny but that I just didn't see the question (hundreds of them come in, hard to see them all). Moore is option #1, as he has been highly targeted all year (2nd on the Saints if memory serves correct). Would go with Watson if only in the hope he can replicate two weeks ago.
George McFly (Hill Valley)
Last night, Darth Vader came down from planet Vulcan and told me that if you didn't rank my Rodgers 'fill-in's' that he'd melt my brain. Maybe that's not a big to you KC? Kitna/Freeman/Collins/Campbell/Tebow
KC Joyner (4:27 PM)
My kids love the Back to the Future movies but I'm not sure I remember that line. In any event, Campbell is the best pick, but Freeman could be just as good and a bit safer.
Hey KC. Skeletor unloaded VJax on me last nite and I need your help. So to make up for it who do I start in a 6 pt TD league? Freeman, Eli, Orton, Cassell, or Fitz?
KC Joyner (4:28 PM)
Hate that Skeletor guy! Orton and Cassel are no gos (just can't trust someone coming off of an injury). Fitz is a risk. Freeman is the safest pick but Eli may have more upside. Go with Eli.
Hey KC - if Cassel sits should i sit Charles for BJGE??
KC Joyner (4:29 PM)
Law Firm should have a really good week, have him very highly rated on the TFS list. Would start him over Charles.
"You made a time machine? Out of a DeLorean?" Speaking of time, is it time to pick up the Cardinals defense while dropping the Packers, K.C.? I'm really liking their match ups in two of the next three weeks.
KC Joyner (4:31 PM)
No better use for a DeLorean, right?! Wouldn't give up on the Pack, as they face Eli and Cutler in weeks 16 & 17 - tons of potential ints there.
BSB (Back off the PUP list)
Can Garcon have two straight good weeks? How is his match up looking this week?
KC Joyner (4:32 PM)
Glad to have you back in the chat, BSB! Garcon has Rashean Mathis this week. For that reason, and for his recent performance, Garcon is listed as an absolute must start this week (the highest rating a player can have).
Al Roker (New York)
Why all of the love for Jason Campbell? My forecast calls for 6 days of rain for Oakland, starting today!! I love Kerry Collins in my lineup better, with 40 degrees and sunny in Nashville!
KC Joyner (4:33 PM)
Weather was supposed to hurt a lot of fantasy players last week and it did squat in most cases. Campbell can throw in the rain.
Andre's Right Hook (Finnegans Head)
Two questions: Who ya got, Andre vs Finnegan round 2 and pick one for WR3 Manningham, MSW, Knox, Webb (duel eligible).
KC Joyner (4:36 PM)
As long as they go to an MMA cage and don't fight on the field (hate in-game fighting), would go with Johnson because he is a lot bigger. Like MSW the best out of that bunch, but that may not be saying a lot given the risky nature of all of those starts.
Mike Wazowski (Monstropolis)
Considering starting woodhead in a 1ppr/.5ppc as a wr in place of Lloyd!!!!what do ya think?
KC Joyner (4:38 PM)
My kids have watched Monsters, Inc probably a dozen times at least. Woodhead is certainly a safer start, so as long as you can give up the upside potential of Lloyd, go for it.
Rod Tidwell (Show me the Money)
Flex Play: Fred Jackson or Mike Wallace?
KC Joyner (4:39 PM)
Just got through watching that movie again - forgot about the scene where Tidwell just won't work with the camel. Very funny! Wallace is slated to face Revis and the Island is back to full strength. Go with Jackson.
Lady Astor: "You're drunk!"W. Curchill: "Your quite right madam, and you're ugly. But tommorow I shall be sober but you shall still be ugly."Collins or Kitna?
KC Joyner (4:41 PM)
Churchill was a classic and he helped save Britain. Funny and admirable, very unique combination. Like Collins matchup a lot but Kitna is rated higher.
I know you like Garcon, but what if you also start Tamme? I could play Austin or Britt instead. Thanks!
KC Joyner (4:42 PM)
Austin is right up there with Garcon but Peyton is on pace to possibly throw more passes than anyone in NFL history (single-season). There are more than enough passes to go around, stick with Garcon.
Joe Webb (TBD)
Because I have WR eligibility, it is worth starting me over Blount or Felix at flex??
KC Joyner (4:44 PM)
Been asked about Webb tons of times. The TFS take is that the Vikings offense is in terrible shape and is facing a strong D in Chicago that won't be the least bit thrown off by playing outdoors (last week notwithstanding). Would try to avoid all Vikings offensive players if at all possible (although, of course, don't bench Peterson unless you have a must start-level option in his place).
Rod (St. Louis)
McFadden has turned out to be my RB#1. Last time Oakland played Denver I rolled with McFadden and Michael Bush at flex and it paid off. Do I roll the dice on this again or go with FJax or Steve Johnson at flex? Pick one please.
KC Joyner (4:45 PM)
Run DMC in this one - the Denver D is abysmal.
KC, now you have my attention. If you like Garcon so much, does that mean I bench Bowe whether Cassel starts or not? Thx.
KC Joyner (4:46 PM)
I know Bowe has been great this year but Garcon is at home with a great matchup and a healthy QB. Bowe is on the road with a QB coming off of an injury and playing a solid Rams D. Always advocate playing the odds and in this case Garcon's odds are better.
Henry Hill (In Hiding)
KC, ya know... It's funny, you know. you tell a good story, it's funny, you're a funny guy...Pick a DST, OAK vs. Den if Tebow plays or NE if Flynn or Rodgers plays?
KC Joyner (4:48 PM)
The Joe Pesci character in that film is positively hilarious - well, at least until he shoots that kid. Go with Oakland in that they might get a special teams TD to go along with their strong D.
I don't know anything about Tebow. Can he chuck it or what? Does Lloyd still have an upside if he is behind the centre?
KC Joyner (4:50 PM)
There are things to like about Tebow but if you really want to know what his Denver tenure has gone, check out Rick Reilly's article on being a Denver fan. It will show why Lloyd's fantasy prospects are considered extremely risky.
I can't say why but me ol' gut says to trust the Mike Williams south this week over Deion Branch, what does your inner fortitude recommend here? Cheers.
KC Joyner (4:52 PM)
Cheers to you as well! Branch could have Tramon Williams in coverage and Williams has been simply fantastic this year (should be an All-Pro). Wiliams south has Nathan Vasher, so go with him in this one.
Perry V. (Maryland)
First time in Semi Playoffs in 3 years! pick 2 RBs: Hightower, Bradshaw, Blount... pick 2 WRs: Boldin, Austin, Mike Williams (both)... Really need your opinion! I used Vernon Davis last night... I need to make up some points! (ppr)
KC Joyner (4:53 PM)
Congrats! Hightower and Bradshaw on RBs, Austin and Williams south.
No questions about Austin Collie? Please elaborate
KC Joyner (4:54 PM)
Like Collie a lot, have him rated as a must start as long as he plays.
My History of Football that I got from Old Man Biff says that win my fantasy playoff game this week but not whether I should use T.O. or ines Ward. Can you help me out. If not make like a tree and get outta here.
KC Joyner (4:56 PM)
That History of Football book just doesn't cover the things that it should, does it?! Both Owens and Ward have red-rated matchups this week but Owens ends up being rated a bit higher on the board, so go with him.
Troy McClure (I Miss Phil Hartman)
Don?t kid yourself, Jimmy. If a cow ever got the chance, he?d eat you and everyone you care about! Which one do I drop? Charles, S. Jackson, or Stewart?!? Also, should I start Garcon over Welker?
KC Joyner (4:58 PM)
Phil Hartman ruled both as McClure and as Ronald Reagan. Stewart would be the one to drop, as he is most apt to split carries (Thomas Jones notwithstanding). Welker is also listed as a must start but his matchup is a lot tougher than Garcon's, so go with Garcon.
Doc Brown (Hanging from the clock tower)
I'm gonna need 1.21 gigawatts to win this week. Who gets me there? Torain, BJGE, or Blount? BMW, S. Moss, or L. Murphy?
KC Joyner (5:00 PM)
Will try to help with a lightning strike! Law Firm and Murphy are the way to go.
Quint (Belly of Shark)
I am one who benched VJax for AJ, Maclin and Austin. Feeling as if I'm on the SS Indianapolis, and want to know who ride at TE between Daniels and Lewis?
KC Joyner (5:01 PM)
Tough call on that one, but those three ought to keep your ship afloat this week pretty well. Daniels is the better play of the tight ends.
Buzzer beater.... like Stoudamire last night! Flacco or Kitna this week?
KC Joyner (5:03 PM)
Got Kitna rated just a bit higher. Well, it's been fun but a radio interview in Indy is on the agenda here in a moment, so I've got to run. You can follow the TFS material on Twitter @kcjoynertfs. Hope to see you all here next week!
