Bruce (1:58 PM)
Thanks for dropping by. Am home in sunny LA and will be at the Rose Bowl tomorrow before making my way to AZ for the BCS title game. Let's get to it.
Michael C. (Westport, CT)
Do you think UConn coach Randy E. should seek a bigger job while the iron is hot, seeing that the chances of his school playing in another BCS game in the future is problematic at best?
Bruce (1:59 PM)
His stock is pretty high right now. I know his name came up for some consideration this winter, but some jobs may not be better situations than he has at UCONN now that the program has been elevated.
Chuck (Las Vegas, NM)
We watched Utah get battered in every big game they played, including a mediocre Notre Dame, and they barely got by Pitt in overtime at home. Do you still think Utah will be an upper level team in the Pac10 next season?
Bruce (2:02 PM)
I do, but part of that is because of the gap there seems to be between the top of the league (Oregon, Stanford) and then USC and Arizona and then the rest. Washington made a strong statement yesterday, but a big part of the league is in transition. Meaning I think Utah would be a favorite over 7-8 Pac-10 teams.
deputy Gator (Vero Beach, FL 32962)
have you heard anything on the coaching staff that will be put together ant florida any names worth wild listening to
Bruce (2:04 PM)
The one name I've heard connected to the UF staff that I could see happening is Seahawks DL coach Dan Quinn coming there to help run the D. He and Muschamp coached together with the Dolphins and I know Pete Carroll thinks highly of him.
Bruce - Don't you think that if the refs are going to call a penalty on celebrations don't you think they need to nail it down and all of them call them consistantly.I have never seen so much inconsistant rulings from the refs to the NCAA.I don't think it is good for college footballYour repected thoughts please?
Bruce (2:05 PM)
I wrote about this in today's mailbag. I hate this rule because it has gotten so muddled between taunting and celebrating and then you get a call on that little salute. It's ridiculous.
What is your take on the call against KSTATE that arguably cost them a chance at the win?
Bruce (2:05 PM)
One of the worst calls I've ever seen.

QUESTION TO BRUCE FELDMAN AT 2.25 PM HI BRUCE ROSE BOWL BADGERS OR HORNED FROGS
Bruce (2:06 PM)
I picked the Badgers in my blog yesterday.
DDo you think the Forcier issue @ Michigan will be the straw that broke the camels back with regards to Rich Rodriguez?
Bruce (2:08 PM)
No, if Rodriguez is out, as I've heard he probably is, it'll have more to do with the "no defense" issue and not being more competitive against the upper level of the Big Ten in the second half of this season. That said, can they dump him in Year 3 if he wins the bowl game and they get eight wins?
deputy Gator (Vero Beach, FL 32962)
i have been hearing charlie wiess as a potential name for florida oc spot any legs to that
Bruce (2:09 PM)
Don't know. Just saw that thrown out on Twitter earlier today. Didn't think he'd come back to college and certainly not to work for somebody. I'd be surprised if he did.
Bruce Feldman Super Fan 99 (Manchester, NH)
Does Todman get over 150 yards rushing tomorrow against OU?
Bruce (2:10 PM)
I dont think so. My hunch is they'll fall too far behind for him to get enough carries.
Josh (Flushing, MI)
What are Tate Forciers options now, Jc, Division II or III?
Bruce (2:11 PM)
He hasn't burned his redshirt season so he could transfer to an FBS program and sit out and play in 2012.
Mark (Los Angeles)
Can we expect an ncaa fb rule change for next year, that will prevent coaches from abusing the clock at the end of a game, like what happened in the Music City Bowl?
Bruce (2:12 PM)
I'd think they'll have to consider the NFL's 10-second run off rule.
Josh (Knoxville, TN)
What happened to Nebraska? They looked primed for a big run this season and they wound up losing to a 6-6 team. I saw at one point in the 4th Q last night they had -36 yards.
Bruce (2:13 PM)
Great question. Not sure but it's clear they had developed some bad chemistry on offense. That Washington defense gave up over 40 four times and then holds Neb to 7?
Mary (Ann Arbor, MI)
What do you think about Coach Tressel's announcement today?
Bruce (2:15 PM)
It's such an odd circumstance. What happens if Pryor has an even better game than he has in last year's Rose Bowl and in the same spirit of the comments that he needs to help his family out financially, announces he needs to go to the NFL now?
charlie (Sherman Oaks, CA)
What do you think about the recent NCAA rulings, "ruling on the side of the Student-Athlete" and USC's appeal. What about the 70 players who had nothing to do with Reggie Bush and their special opportunity to play in a bowl?
Bruce (2:18 PM)
The "I didn't know" defense and the "high-profile athlete" nature as the NCAA defined it will be noteworthy.
Jeff (Chicago, IL)
Do you think Kevin Wilson to Indiana has been one of the best hires thus far-is it the most underrated hire in the country?
Bruce (2:19 PM)
I do like the hire. He's a very good offensive coach.
What are you thoughts on the issue of oversigning in conferences such as the SEC, Big XII? Why don't journalist keep pressing this issue, especially on ESPNU's recruiting show?
Bruce (2:21 PM)
We did an Outside the Lines show on it last Sunday. The SEC did make its "Houston Nutt Rule" to address how signing 38 players looks.
Chizzie (Denver, Co)
Bruce whats your thoughts on CU Bufflaoes hiring of Embree as their coach? I think its an ok hire. They could've done better.
Bruce (2:22 PM)
Not sure about him as a head coach because he's unproven. I do really like the staff he's surrounded himself with though.
Bruce (2:25 PM)
In regards to that K-State controversial penalty, here is Randy Edsall's thoughts on it. (He is chairman of the rules committee)http://www.asapsports.com/show_interview.php?id=68145
Josh (Knoxville, TN)
As a college football writer, do you like the spread out schedule of bowls that have resulted from the TV contracts? Or did you prefer the old system where we were pretty done on New Years?
Bruce (2:27 PM)
I like it spread out because if 10 games are on at once it's hard to watch it all.
Bruce (2:30 PM)
Wow.. Mort just tweet that Charlie Weis is likely bound for Univ. of Florida as offensive coordinator.
Austin, Tennessee [via mobile]
FSU is killing it on the recruiting trail. Chances they have the number 1 class this year?
Bruce (2:32 PM)
Pretty good. They've been cleaning up, but landing blue-chip recruits never seemed to be an issue at FSU.
Music City Bowl? Your thoughts on what happened
Bruce (2:33 PM)
Baffled. Lots of really odd calls. Bad clock management.
More odd, Syracuse DB getting injured celebrating or Tedd Ginn getting injured by Roy Hall celebrating?
Bruce (2:36 PM)
I'll go with the Cuse DB.
What are the Hogs chances against OSU? A little worried.....
Bruce (2:38 PM)
Bowl games are usually tough to figure because of all the external factors and long layoff, but this one is even trickier because of all the intrigue surronding OSU. I have made my pick yet, but am now leaning to Arkansas.
After two years of inconsistent and often terrible offensive production, will Bo Pelini pull the trigger and fire Shawn Watson as OC? If so, any thoughts on who would make a good replacement?
Bruce (2:41 PM)
He said he didnt expect to make any changes. We'll see if he that holds up. As for a replacement, not sure what Bo wants to run. If Rodriguez gets fired would Pelini want to hire Calvin McGee, his OC?
Your opinion of Al Golden to the U is....
Bruce (2:42 PM)
I kinda like the hire and what he had done. My biggest question is hiring a guy who hasn't spent much time in South Florida and will need to develop those ties.
Scott B. (Hot Springs , AR)
Who is your difference maker for each Sugar Bowl team??
Bruce (2:43 PM)
Pryor for OSU and Jerry Franklin for Arkansas.
Bruce (2:44 PM)
Thanks for all of the questions. If I didn't get to yours send it to me via Facebook at BFeldmanESPN. Enjoy the games.
