Terrence- How much has coming from such a lacrosse hotbed of Manhasset High School aided in your success at the collegiate level? What players do you remember watching growing up?

Great question.... Growing up in Manhasset has allowed me develope my skills and knowledge of the game at a young age. At Manhasset High School, I was fortunate to have been coached by men like Alan Lowe and Bill Cherry. I remember watching the Ghittlemans (sp), Millers, and Gags (John Gagliardi) growing up.

This question goes to Terri. How do you manage to balance a Master's Program with Division 1 lacrosse and all the while maintain a great physique? Also, would you consider yourself a Veteran now that you are in your 5th year at Duke? Say hi to Rullan for me,Earthchild

Time management skills and the desire to be excellent are essential to balancing grad classes and getting swollen in the weight room. Being a 5th year is veteran by nature, so obviously yes.

Business-like .... thats easy, Tom "the street" Montelli. Hard to say who most "LI" is on my team, considering more than half are from THE Island.

This one is for my favorite player, Terrence. Why did you change your number from 30 to 32?

I changed my number from 30 to 32 for a couple reasons. First off, at Manhasset High School it is an honor for a senior midfielded to wear 32 because it is in memory of John Driscoll. At Manhasset, it went to the middy who was most dedicated to the team. Secondly, at Duke, Sam Payton wore #32 last, and I wanted to keep the number within the midfield position. Ideally, I would like to see the number passed on to the next John Driscoll/ Payton / like player.

This years team is an entire new saga. Every year, teams change and take on different personalities. I am excited to play with younger guys who are hungry to play and compete.

At the end of this year I will have laxed in 4 NFL stadiums. Raven, Patriots, GIANTS (not Jets), and Jacksonville .. I may be forgetting one

I think the set call was installed to cut back on f/o guys rolling into the whistle. Personally, I think players have adapted to the change already.

Terrance, lemme run this situation by you. Georgetown vs Duke, national championship, overtime, and your at the faceoff x vs matt sutherland, long time friend and hs team mate. Who wins the draw, the ground ball and eventually the game?

Gtown vs Duke, has always been a great game for me. My brother, Cullen, played there and graduated in 2009. As for SUDZ and I going after it at the X, it would be a scrap of the century. You got to believe, that I would win that battle and move the ball on to my teammates..who would win the game.

Advice for d-mids..work on your stick skills everyday, you never know when your team will depend on you to stick a shot.. Groundballs, never loose the battle.

Terrence obviously you come from a storried program on long island in manhasset. What is your feeling on going into your your last season at duke and how does it compare going into your last season at manhasset. Obviously the stage is bigger but describe the contrast and comparison between your overall goals and aspirations from both seasons as a senior leader of both programs

Being a senior at Manhasset was special because I grew up with my teammates (Suds, brugal, heske, giamo, Tommy MAC, Billy Bitter, Fly, Matt Bren, Judge, Madison,etc...) That season did not end well for us, so I will take what I learned and apply it to this years team. I am in a very similiar situation now, being that a lot of seniors graduated last year. Right now, we are taking one game at a time, but we always have our eye on the prize..

I try to constantly change my speed and focus on protecting my stick. Don't try to get into any pushing matches, use your speed and change of direction.

Nick- In your opinion, what is Notre Dame's strongest part of the team?

I think the strongest part of our team is our defense. I think we have great athletes who fit well into our system. Each defender brings something different to the table, but collectively they're pretty tough to score against. They give me fits in practice.

If you have to pick one teammate who will end up on SportsCenter for a play in Sunday's game, who would it be?

That's a tough one. I think Zach Brenneman and David Earl are amazing shooters, I could see a shot on the run from them being on there. Max Pfeifer is pretty nifty. Or... Tyler Kimball could blow someone up.

Nick: How did the amazing Notre Dame run last season in the playoffs propel your team into this season in terms of expectations, work ethic, and team chemistry?

Our team really became closer during the tournament. We were all living in one dorm, spending every second of everyday with each other. In terms of work ethic, we see the progress and the level of play that need to be achieved throughout the year and late in the season in order to make that type of run.

That's a toss up. Ridgway's fundamentals and footwork will frustrate you all practice, but Barnes's athleticism and strength will leave you crying on the sideline. I'm going to say I take more pleasure out of beating Ridgway, but I can't say for sure which is more difficult.

How did the leadership of the seniors when you were a freshman help you through your career to this point and how has it helped you with your leadership skills today?

I've been fortunate to have some great leaders ahead of me who really took me under their wings. Attackmen like Swezey, Hoff, and Hicks really helped me learn the system, as well as show me the way to teach others. Leaders like Davey Melera, Scott Rodgers, last year's seniors, and even this year's seniors have shown me that they way you work in practice says much more than the things you say. Anyone can hoot and holler.

The beauty of the Notre Dame family is that there is always someone willing to help. I know I can give any former player a call if I have a problem and they'll be willing to share advice or an experience they've had playing here. I still talk to a good number of former players at least once a week.
