On the WRs: I don't think they can get Steve Smith from Carolina, and I think re-signing Moss would be a better move for them than bringing in a high-risk guy like an Ochocinco or Plaxico or T.O. or that other Moss guy. I also think Leonard Hankerson becomes more of a factor as the season goes on. Assuming there is a season, of course.

As for Bradshaw/Rosenhaus, yes, I would think that hiring Drew indicates that Bradshaw will go where the money is. Of course, that could be the Giants. They like him a lot.

Agree on Mikell, who's a class act and a strong voice in the locker room. Bradley wasn't a factor last year and seems to have been replaced by Jamar Chaney. I think they're probably moving on from both. Teams with coaching staffs like the one the Eagles have generally rely on their coaches' ability to maintain that chemistry come what may.

How can people call Tony Romo overrated? Lets compare Romo to Matt Ryan. Ryan has a career completion percentage of 60.8%, avg per completion is 6.9yds, and almost 2-1 TD to INT ratio. OH and winless in the playoff. Romo has 64.1% completion, 8.0 per completion and a 2-1 TD to INT ratio. And romo is 1-3 in playoffs. Romo has started 5 seasons (2 shortened by injury 1 shortened by Drew Bledsoe) and Ryan has played 3. Yet Matt Ryan is considered a top tier QB and Romo is overrated? I just do not get the critics - can you help explain?

The first half he really wasn't playing well at all. Than after the surgery he was back to playing above avg to good. Free played at a good level consistently all year a far surpassed any and all expectations and answered all of the critics questions

Lists like this, I tend to use "Which guy would I want on my team right now?" as the criterion. So I guess Peters' track record probably moved him ahead of Free for me. Surely, Free was great last year and Peters was one year removed from being completely awful. But he's obviously still a force when healthy. A year from now, Free may be way ahead of him. But that was my thinking as of now. Thanks for asking nicely!

I read a report on bloggingtheboys.com that says if the Cowboys release Roy, they actually can save $5.1 million this year. I say release Roy, Barber, Newman and Columbo and go out and get Nnamdi, C. Jenkins, and Huff. Resign Free, Bowens, Hatcher and Sensabaugh and we have the foundation for at least a winning season. The Cowboys can play as close to the salary cap max as they want. The Jones' aren't strapped for money. Your thoughts?

I think any Plaxico speculation has to assume that he'll be happy with any job he gets. As I've said before, I've never been to prison, but I have to believe it humbles you. As for how he fits, they don't have anybody with his size in that WR corps, and I think that's his appeal to Andy Reid. A receiver who can dominate with his size in the red zone.

I think he put the Beck stuff out there publicly for a couple of reasons: 1. To let other teams/agents know he's willing to go with Beck if they're planning to stick him up on cost for someone else, 2. To prop up Beck in case that's who he's stuck with (remember, he's not allowed to call Beck and tell him himself) and 3. To prepare fans for the possibility that they won't be able to do any better. My theory. But in the end, I think he's willing to go with Beck if he can't get a favorable deal for someone better. I don't think they're going to break the bank for QB two years in a row.

But I can't count the number of things Andy Reid's done over the past year or so that I disagreed with, and they usually seem to work out for him.

I think the biggest change would be in QB value at the top. I don't think you'd see teams forcing a QB into that No. 1 spot the way, say, Carolina did this year. If they rein in bonus money for the top guys, then you might see more teams go "best player available" there. Also might become easier to trade those very high picks.

I think there are equivalent rivalries elsewhere (NFC North jumps to mind), but I do think that's a special thing about this division. I actually mentioned that to our NFL editor when I was interviewing for this job as something that I believed would make it fun to run this blog -- the hatred of all other teams by fans of each team in the division. So far, it's lived up to my expectations.

I saw that you didn't like the pick of Watkins for the Eagles, but who cares about his age when this team is built to win now with Vick? If he can come in and start right away then that will be huge. The offensive line really was the only major fault of the Eagles offense this past season and Watkins was one of two major moves the Eagles have made to fix that up. The other major move being them bringing in Howard Mudd.If the Eagles offensive line improves like it should with Watkins and Mudd, especially that right side of the line which is Vicks blindside, then I really don't see how teams stop the Eagles offense in 2011.

Your points are all valid. He should upgrade the OL at a key spot for 2011. Just saying, with draft picks it's about value, and a first-round pick should have long-term value -- for me, at least. I agree with you on Mudd and I think the hiring of Jim Washburn for the other line will be huge as well. The Eagles know what they're doing. They don't need to care what I think. But someone asked, so I offered my opinion.

Going off the offensive player rankings that came out today, I have this question: do you and the other voters account for scheme? Scheme has a ton to do with production and certain guys in other schemes don't work *cough* Haynesworth. Just look at the Eagles: They have small fast recievers that fit into a west coast scheme but would lack production with say, the Dolphins.

It's a very good question, and I can't answer for the other seven guys. My feeling is, we can only evaluate what we see. If a guy isn't achieving in his "scheme," I'm not going to sit here and say, "Well, I'll rank him higher because he's being held back by scheme." I think I rank based on accomplishments and ability. D Jackson's 47 catches last year may have been a result of a "scheme" holding him back, but it is what it is. I can't project and say he'd have caught 85 if he'd played for the Packers.

I think Helu could produce in Washington as starting RB. I think Kerrigan has a chance to be a monster on the outside in the 3-4 in Washington, especially if Orakpo draws the focus of the opponents' blocking schemes. And I think Amukamara will have an impact for the Giants, though not as much this year as down the road. For now, he's in a rotation in that secondary, because that's the way they like to do things there.
