Thanks for that clip "Greensboro." Everybody in this room seems to be asking Greg about "the hit."
Alex (Omaha)
Hey Greg, I was just wondering...what was in your mind AFTER you blasted that DB with that hellacious shoulder on Saturday?
Greg Jones (1:50 PM)
Well, nothing special was really on my mind going into it. I didn't plan for that. Same old. Then after I just got back up and thought, "let's do it again!"
david rogers Tall. Fl
Greg- Did your cousin Joe Frazier teach you how to throw that right upper forarm? Keep up the good work !!!! FSU Grad & 40+yr. fan-David Rogers
Greg Jones (1:51 PM)
haha. No he didn't, I learned that just by watching good football.
Tallahassee, FL
Greg, we all want to see you play more. Do you think you'll get more carries against Maryland, especially with L. Washington out?
Greg Jones (1:52 PM)
Yes, I think I'll get more chances, but at the same time I don't know b/c it is all the coaches decision. I hope so, though.
Nate Sloan.....Immokalee fl
Damn dawg you need to tell Bobby Bowden to give you more carries, he's messing up your heisman chances, your easily the best running back in the game....tell him that your not accepting anything under 25 carries...just think if you win the heisman....you'll be the first running back taken in the draft and you'll make more money than him...so holla at Bobby. later kid! p.s. that had to be the best run over I've ever seen!
Greg Jones (1:53 PM)
Bobby is trying to work me back into the rotation slowly, but by the end of the season I'll be fine. I'm getting there.
Steve, Boston Ma
I am a huge noles fan. You are the darkhorse for the Heisman in my book. Are you thinking about the trophy at all? Is it a goal of yours?
Greg Jones (1:54 PM)
It's not really a focus of mine. Of course if I were to get it I would be very honored and happy, but it's not really my main goal.
Brandon, Winter Haven Florida
Nothing makes a Florida State fan happier than a healthy Greg Jones. Welcome back. What are your goals this season? Do you think you can break Warrick Dunn's single season rushing record? Or perhaps things like that dont matter to you. Thanks for your reply.
Greg Jones (1:55 PM)
One of my goals is to break the rushing record and of course, same as every year, we want to win a national championship.
Joe (West Palm Beach)
Greg, what's the secret of your super-strength? Is it that soul food you love so much? How do you stay in such amazing shape?
Greg Jones (1:56 PM)
It's not easy, Joe. Plenty of practice and working out, but I'm just blessed with it, I guess.
jon mark capps :(NYC, NY)
Greg, Doctors say the ACL has healed tighter than before. Is this true and does it change your style of running? LONG LIVE THE SEMINOLES AND ALL THAT THEY HAVE BROUGHT TO COLLEGE FOOTBALL and ATHLETICS. jmc in NYC
Greg Jones (1:56 PM)
I hope it's true, but no it has not changed my style of running.
Scott - Orlando
Coach Bowden has said the toughest part of your rehab is the mental fear of your knee giving out again while making a cut. Do you agree?
Greg Jones (1:57 PM)
Yes I do. The thinking game is the worst part about it.
Jay, AL
Sup, Greg! Its been a pleasure to watch you these last three years. How's the knee? Will you be able to go 4 quarters if needed on Saturday? Thanx, And I'll be the guy who sounds off the air horn when you score!! GO NOLES
Greg Jones (1:58 PM)
My knee is not fully 100%, but I do think I could go four quarters if I had to.
Fort Benning, Georgia
A lot has been said about FSU losing there "swagger". I realize its only been one game but do you notice a difference in last years team compared to this years?
Greg Jones (1:59 PM)
I notice a big difference. I think the big games will really be the indicator, that will be the test to see if we really have it back or not.
Nathan, Valdosta
Greg, what would you want more? beating Florida in the Swamp or Miami in Doak Campbell
Greg Jones (1:59 PM)
Beating Miami in the Doak.
DJ Oshins
Would you have turned pro if you had never gotten injured?
Greg Jones (2:00 PM)
I don't know, I don't know what I would have done. The injury changed everything.
Omar (Thomasville, GA)
Greg, awesome game on Saturday! How confident do you feel behind the young offensive line?
Greg Jones (2:01 PM)
Omar, I feel very confident, just becuase they are young does not mean they aren't talented. I trust them completely.
jay (Panama, Panama)
Hi Greg, It's great to have you back on the team! How is the locker room spirit, in light of the quarterback situation of the past months? I hope you are all trying to give Rix all the support you can muster. Good luck this season!
Greg Jones (2:03 PM)
The locker room spirit is real good right now. The chemistry is good, everybody is getting along, there is no big conflict on the team. There are 120 guys, it's not going to be perfect all the time but we are coming together real well. Chris has our support.
James M. West Palm Beach, FL
Greg, how is your relationship with Leon and Lorenzo? All three of you seem to get along very well.
Greg Jones (2:04 PM)
We get along real well, that helps us on the field. I think we help each other out a lot and it is positive for us on the field.
Sean (College Park, MD)
What do you think about the Maryland defense you will have to face this weekend?
Greg Jones (2:05 PM)
Your Terps are tough. Better than what they were when they played Northern Illinois. We're pumped and ready to go for Saturday. We're physcial teams.
tim(Tallahassee)
dude, wheres the registrar on campus?
Greg Jones (2:06 PM)
Tim, I have no idea.
David Parler Columbia, SC
I remembering you playing high school ball hear in SC. Man, I wish you would have been a Gamecock, but it's good to see a SC boy doing well. Good luck with your knee because you are a lot of fun to watch run the footaball.
Greg Jones (2:06 PM)
Thanks David
Brian R. (Olrando, FL)
The brace you have been wearing on your knee is very big. Do you feel it slows you down or limits you at all?
Greg Jones (2:07 PM)
It does slow me down a little bit, but hopefully it will be off my knee in a couple more games!
Preston, ATL, GA
Greg, I am a Gator and I think you are the most underrated player in the college football. You are a man among boys out there! What do you have to do to gain the recognition you deserve?
Greg Jones (2:08 PM)
I guess I just have to keep playing the way I am, I hope that's enough, Preston.
kyle (Charlotte NC)
After missing the last games last year how did it feel to be back on the field? What did you learn from your injury? GO NOLES
Greg Jones (2:08 PM)
It feels great to be back on the field, the biggest lesson I learned was the importance of patience.
Charles (Detroit)
WHat up Greg! Other than the Noles, of course, who are some teams that you think can win a National Championship this year? Thanks!
Greg Jones (2:09 PM)
Miami looks like they could do it, Ohio State of course, Texas, Oklahoma.
Marcus Nordt - Raleigh NC
Greg, FSU is on the rebound and is the best looking team that I've so far in week one. Since this is the ten year anniversay of FSU's first National Championship. Do you think that this FSU has what it takes to win it all?
Greg Jones (2:10 PM)
I do Marcus, I do. We've got what it takes. Hopefully luck will be on our side like it was in '93!
greg (durham NC)
Tell Tim that the Registrar's is in the University Center at the Stadium. I know Greg's seen the stadium once or twice. Go Noles!
Greg Jones (2:12 PM)
Alright everybody, I have to get to practice. Thanks for all the questions and all of your support. I hope to be 100% soon. Go Noles!
