Andrea Adelson (4:01 PM)
Let's chat!
Jerry (South Florida)
who do you think Cincinnati will play with their two open dates? Any chance FSU may fill one of those dates?
Andrea Adelson (4:02 PM)
Biggest unanswered question right now is what happens to these teams with holes to fill. I know FSU wants a home game, which is probably complicating matters for Big East teams. Pitt needs a home game; Rutgers needs a home game ... everybody needs a home game. I really think the Big East has to move to bring somebody in for 2012 to alleviate this scheduling nightmare.
Jan (Alexandria, VA)
I think I would rather watch paint dry than watch a Memphis football game. What was the Big East thinking? Big East needs improvement on the football field and not on the basketball court. Each of the Big East expansion moves just push me and other fans further away. How about establishing a Big East conference with eastern teams, what a novel concept. East Carolina, Temple, UMass, Buffalo, Florida Atlantic to name a few.
Andrea Adelson (4:03 PM)
Jan, I am sorry to tell you but those schools you mentioned do about the same as Memphis for football excitement. No offense East Carolina fans. This is a split league and always has been. Memphis was a hoops move plain and simple.
Krystal (Pitt)
Do you think Pitt and the cuse none try and bolt a year earlier? Do you think its time for the BE Commissioner to resign given the way he has bungled this thing? Way to go WVU!!!
Andrea Adelson (4:04 PM)
I think Pitt and Cuse will be gone for 2013; I do not think Marinatto will resign. Should he resign? Far be it from me to tell somebody they should be fired. I hear that every day!
Doug (Tampa)
A.A how ya doing? Questions for you. Which future BE rivalry games do you look forward to the most and why? Im looking forward to the USF/ UCF , Houston/SMU and Boise/USF games. Keep up the great job.
Andrea Adelson (4:05 PM)
Thanks, Doug. I think UCF/USF really has potential because you guys already hate each other so much, and I don't know if USF is really THAT happen about having UCF in. I don't get the same sense that Houston/SMU is much of a rivalry. SMU/TCU hate each other much, much more. USF-UCF just seems like a natural.
George (NJ)
At the time I am writing this, the top four headlines on ESPN NCAA College Football are TCU, Georgia, Florida, UCONN players being arrested and/or suspended. Is this a result of more policing and aggresive discipline by Colleges or are things (player behavior) getting worse at the college level?
Andrea Adelson (4:06 PM)
I don't think it's unusual to see players getting arrested and/or kicked off teams. Happens every year, most particularly in the offseason.
Bart C (Charlotte NC)
I think that bringing in Boise St this year would be more beneficial than some realize. As some have stated, it would replace WVU with a comparable football program - one that would bring interest. The BE could use some of the money they received from WVU to help defray Boise's costs. And as an unintended consequence, there would be several programs (from the MWC) that would now have open dates, which might help some Big East teams to fill the void left from TCU. Granted those programs might not quite be the level of TCU, but it would be better than scheduling an FCS school. The Big East could work with those schools and possibly provide an incentive for them to use Big East schools to fill the void left by Boise St leaving early. Do you agree?
Andrea Adelson (4:07 PM)
I think the only way Boise does it is if it doesn't take a hit in the pocketbook. The only way that happens is if the Big East pays up. I don't know how many of the MWC teams would have a hole in the schedule, though, because they will play 8 conference games and have 10 league members.
rufanjerry (Jersey)
It is no secret that Rutgers does not want to play at Boise this year. Do you think it is possible that they can pressure to the Big East to flip this should Boise enter the conference? What leverage would they have?
Andrea Adelson (4:07 PM)
Well the MWC certainly flipped and let Boise host TCU last year. I am not sure what the Big East stance is on flipping home games and such. It would be a good question to ask.
Kyle (Morgantown WV)
Fist of all I want to say that the blog has improved 10 fold from the first week and I wanted to say you are doing a great job. I have a simple question. When will WVU be moved from the Big East Blog to the Big 12 blog?
Andrea Adelson (4:08 PM)
Thanks, Kyle. Yesterday was the last day of WVU coverage on the BE blog, save for the final 2011 player and position rankings. Enjoy the Big 12!
BearcatTerritory (Cincinnati)
Sex scandals, drug sweeps, conference realignment, you know the list. How many more punches to the gut before college football fans begin to tune out? Or has an erosion of the fan base already begun, e.g. bowl television ratings. Obviously, most businesses that lose focus on its' customers begin to feel it in the pocketbook. At what point is mismanagement in the college football industry going to catch up with it? (Which may be a good thing if it leads to substantial restructuring.)
Andrea Adelson (4:10 PM)
Good question. I realize the TV ratings were down, but I only think that was a function of bad matchups and the fact that all the games are now on cable, whereas they used to be on network TV before. Higher ratings on networks. I have not really seen an erosion in fan interest despite all these scandals. You guys comment more than ever, and I think a playoff would generate much more interest than ever. If the fans really want to hit in the pocketbook, they should boycott games. Period. IT would send a message if a team shows up to play and nobody is in the stands.
Mitch (Charleston, WV)
Your opinion! With Pitt and Syracuse announcing that they were leaving the Big East to join the ACC, why is WVU being picked on for being proactive and joining The Big 12? I know geographiclally it may not be a good fit but all the other factors say it was a good move. $20 Million dollars is just chump change which WVU will recouped within a couple years.
Andrea Adelson (4:11 PM)
Probably because of the manner in which WVU did it, saying they had no regard for BE bylaws or the scheduling holes they were creating.
Dave (Rutherford, NJ)
With West Virginia out, does this mean that Rutgers can actually win a Big East crown this year?
Andrea Adelson (4:11 PM)
Great question! Stay tuned for the spring preview next week for my discussion of that very point!
Rick (England)
Do you foresee Rutgers, UConn, Cincy, Louisville, or USF harboring any residual grudge against WVU that lasts more than a year or so. Any revenge in the future?
Andrea Adelson (4:11 PM)
Revenge how? They are most likely never going to play again.
Brian (State of Rutgers)
AA, in a best case scenario, who do you see Rutgers playing as an 8th league opponent and for their missing OOC spot?
Andrea Adelson (4:12 PM)
I have heard Arkansas floating around as an OOC opponent. The 8th league opponent would either be a new team for 2012 or some other plan the Big East comes up with if that one falls through.
Brian (Ohio)
With Schiano out, will Rutgers cease their adoption of the Bill Snyder OOC game scheduling philosophy and start playing legit teams?
Andrea Adelson (4:13 PM)
I think Rutgers sees a real need to upgrade their OOC scheduling. You aren't going to see 2 FCS teams on the sked in the future, and should be seeing 1-2 marquee teams a year.
Mike (WV)
WVU should have dropped MD with FSU and kept Pitt. What do you think?
Andrea Adelson (4:14 PM)
I am always in favor of preserving traditional rivalries like the Backyard Brawl.
BE Fan (Providence)
Question about your comment " IT would send a message if a team shows up to play and nobody is in the stands".Hasnt Pitt already adopted this policy? I see nothing beautiful yellow seats on TV when Pitt plays. LOL
Andrea Adelson (4:14 PM)
Touche!
ADAM (Boise)
As a Bronco fan i'm looking forward to the Big-East chats in 2013.... you think we'll get to do it a year earlier?
Andrea Adelson (4:14 PM)
All depends on the $$$, in my opinion. And how badly Chris Petersen wants to make the move a year early. I bet he has some say in the matter.
Mike ('Cuse)
What is your overall opinion of Daryl Gross and the job he's done at Syracuse? Many in Syracuse are split, and I want to hear an outside opinion. And yes...we all can agree the GRobb hire was abysmal!
Andrea Adelson (4:16 PM)
Well his biggest decision was to move Syracuse out of the Big East and into the ACC. So your opinion on him should probably go along with your opinion on whether this ensures the future of Syracuse in a more stable conference. I hate how the Big East is breaking up, but he was looking out for Syracuse and at this point in time, the ACC looks much more secure than the Big East. So you have to give him a good grade for the job he has done re: football.
John (Louisville)
Gotta get a UofL comment in here, anychance of us beating Boise IF they jump early?
Andrea Adelson (4:17 PM)
All depends on when they play. I think Boise will be much better at the end of the season than they will be at the beginning of the season, the same as Louisville was this year. Boise is going to have a really, really young team. As it stands today, I think UL would win.
Ryan (Ohio)
Will a Big East school ever play WVU again?
Andrea Adelson (4:18 PM)
I don't see it. Maybe Pitt. But I wasn't encouraged by the comments of Oliver Luck and Steve Pederson on that matter.
WVUPHIL (cleveland)
AA , who has more followers right now your or Jeremy Lin ?We will miss you next year. Mountaineer nation is ready to take on Mr . Ubben with his bold prediction that that the Mounties will not win the Big G 12 for a decade ! Should we take it easy on him ?
Andrea Adelson (4:18 PM)
Definitely Lin. Even I have Linsanity or whatever people are calling it these days. My answer is easy -- you did not take it easy on me, did you?!
Adam (Philly)
With the loss of UCF/TCU and WVU on Pitt's home schedule, what game is worth attending aside from our OOC game against VT. Have you seen any projections on lost revenue from all of the schools or the Big East as a whole?
Andrea Adelson (4:20 PM)
Great question. I thought it was quite interesting that as part of the settlement, the Big East asked WVU to try and help Pitt get a game. I don't see how that is going to work. But the home sked is slim pickings. I would figure if Boise comes in then Boise would go to Pitt to make up for WVU and that would definitely be worth attending.
Kyle (Piscataway)
Rutgers has 3-4 years of very good talent on the team to make a big conference believe it is worthy before talent level takes a hit. True of false?
Andrea Adelson (4:20 PM)
I think I have said this before, but on-field results are not the biggest factor in most every expansion case. Cough, Memphis.
Matt (Music City)
34 yards passing against Utah. Incredible. Anyhow, is Nick Temple a budding star for the Bearcats? JK Schaeffer was raving about him after the Liberty Bowl.
Andrea Adelson (4:22 PM)
I was wrong. IT was 38. But anyway, I definitely think the future is bright for Temple. He had a great performance vs. Vandy that should really springboard him into next season.
Brian (State of Rutgers)
I think Memphis and Louisville could develop into a great rivalry (assuming Louisville stays put). That being said, do you think Memphis will develop into a respectable football program.
Andrea Adelson (4:24 PM)
I think that is the hope, especially from the Big East office perspective. Memphis used to be respectable, and I am not sure why things have fallen off so badly. This is a program that is well supported from a financial standpoint and is in an area where they should be able to get some decent recruits. Fuente has done a good job at TCU but I think it is going to take some time before Memphis turns things around. Especially now that it will be playing a much tougher schedule.
Dave (New Jersey)
With West Virginia leaving in the manner that it did, there is going to be hard feelings going forward and I doubt that they will have any out of conference games with any of the northeastern teams in the future. But do you think that this will hold with Syracuse and Pittsburgh as well? I wouldn't mind Syracuse continuing to play teams like Rutgers and UCONN in the future after the move to the ACC.
Andrea Adelson (4:25 PM)
I think the ACC is moving toward a 9-game schedule so the openings for nonconference games are going to be really limited. I don't know what the future holds in that regard.
Troy Nunes (Syracuse)
Do people really think joining the ACC is going to revitalize Cuse football? I think its just the opposite. Look at the state of BC - yuck!!!
Andrea Adelson (4:26 PM)
I don't know that people think it is going to revitalize football. I think people are happy to be out of the Big East for football. Unless I am wrong, please tell me. I would like to know what Cuse fans think.
Sabrina (new york)
How does it benefit the Big East to bring Boise in a year early? They keep the Autobid this year regardless. Without Boise, Rutgers or Louisville has a much better chance of getting that bid (vs. when there are a dozen competitors). Also, saves lots of $$$ not having to pay for their early exit.
Andrea Adelson (4:27 PM)
How else do you propose filling one-game hole in the conference schedule? Bringing in a new member a year early is the best option.
PittPanther (Pittsburgh, PA)
Any word on Grahms recovery
Andrea Adelson (4:28 PM)
I think I saw him say on Twitter he started to run this week. I'm working on trying to get an interview with him, so stay tuned.
Robinson (Louisville)
The Big East commish said that the schedules should be released this coming week or the week after correct? It's taking forever! Release them already!!!!!!! Got away travel plans to make! GO CARDS!!
Andrea Adelson (4:28 PM)
They can't release them. Nobody has a complete schedule!
Mike ('Cuse)
I'm happy for the ACC. But I feel bad the Big East fell apart. (I don't think it needed to!)
Chris (Hartford CT)
When UConn was forced to jump to the Big East a year earlier in 2005, the conference waived it's entrance fee. Have you heard of the BE proposing something similar for Boise? The Broncos are scheduled to pay a $2 million entrance fee I believe and waiving that could help offset some costs.
Andrea Adelson (4:29 PM)
I am sure that is part of the discussion. The Boise State AD made it clear in his interview with the Idaho Statesman yesterday that $$ was a very big factor.
john (cincinnati)
AA, it looks like a number of Big East teams (Pitt/UC/Rutgers/UConn) have a question mark regarding who the starting QB will be heading into the 2012 season. Will productive QB play be the most important factor regarding who competes at the top of the Big East?
Andrea Adelson (4:30 PM)
This is still a league predicated on good defense, so I still think that is going to be the case. There are definitely a lot of question marks at QB this year, and that is going to factor into the shuffling of the league. But the QB ? at RU has not stopped people from believing the Scarlet Knights will contend for the BE title this year.
Adam (Philly)
If Boise state doesn't jump, then who? Are we looking at 2 - 1AA games? Any word on if the ACC will help Pitt and Cuse out with their schedule issues since they are still delaying their own schedule release?
Andrea Adelson (4:31 PM)
I do not see why the ACC would help. They are BE property right now. Steve Pederson's statement basically said the BE was going to help. If Boise doesn't jump, I don't know what Plan B is, to be honest. Only school I have heard mentioned as a possible early entry is Boise.
Troy Nunes (Syracuse)
I've heard alot of my fellow fans say the same thing. Very happy to be going to a stable well-known conference. Afraid football will crater like BC. Losing out on Big East Tournament is a big deal for alot of alums - that was special and will be missed.
Shawn (Denver)
Any validity to these rumors that Rutgers is telling recruits that they will be in the B1G soon?
Andrea Adelson (4:32 PM)
Same rumors as Temple telling recruits they would play in the Big East.
Brian (State of Rutgers)
AA, what do you think the chances are that WVU gets embarrassed in the B12 next year? That would be amazing.
Andrea Adelson (4:32 PM)
I don't see it. Big 12 has a lot of rebuilding teams next year.
Ryan (Ohio)
What is the likelihood of the Catholic basketball schools becoming disgruntled with the new Big East line up and breaking away to form a new conference with St. Louis and Xavier?
Andrea Adelson (4:34 PM)
I've heard a lot of that chatter but I don't know how likely it is. I think you also asked about TV $$ being a part of a football league and being on its own. I really would have to ask a TV expert on that.
Chris (Pitt)
Why didn't Marinatto make any of the new members' join for 2012? The BE had to know that WVU was forced to leave for 2012, why didn't they do the same to some desperate non-AQ school?
Andrea Adelson (4:35 PM)
I wonder the same thing myself and almost said that in response to the mailbag questions from yesterday. I think it is because they were afraid if they did that, then that would show their hand with the lawsuit against WVU? Like yeah we know we are going to lose WVU if we admit somebody for 2012? I really don't know. You would think the BE would have the leverage on an incoming non-AQ school.
Sabrina (new york)
Why not add one of the C-USA schools? Would keep the conference at 8 and give legacy members ability to win this year.
Andrea Adelson (4:36 PM)
They could but from what I have read they have not been asked.
Mike (Storrs, CT)
Can you give me one good reason why the football schools shouldn't band together and give Marinatto the Beebe treatment?
Andrea Adelson (4:37 PM)
Well the incoming football schools wouldn't do that, because they are thankful they got in. The basketball schools probably wouldn't do that. So I don't think they win that vote.
Ryan (Ohio)
Wouldn't it be great if WVU did poor enough in the Big 12 this year that they had to play a Big East school in the Pinstripe Bowl? How intense would that be especially if they met Pitt?
Andrea Adelson (4:37 PM)
Big East bowl projection?
john (cincinnati)
AA, at least one Big East school is invited to one of the other 5 AQs before February 1, 2013....true/false????
Andrea Adelson (4:38 PM)
I am assuming you want me to say whether I think the Big 12 is going to add Louisville or some other BE school by 2013? Let me think .... I am going to say ... no. But I have been known to make really awful predictions.
Adam (Philly)
You should do an AA versus Food for each school, highlighting the best places to tailgate/grub for traveling fans. It would make the boring dead times go quicker. Maybe I'm just hungry and haven't had lunch though.
Andrea Adelson (4:38 PM)
Anybody else want to see this?
Mike (Storrs, CT)
Is there any time table the league has on getting this scheduling nightmare they created resolved? Seems like they need to do something and do it fast.
Andrea Adelson (4:39 PM)
I think they are working as fast as they can. But in the Big East fast usually equals snail's pace. BE is finally done with expansion over a year after it started!
Conner (Louisville, Ky)
Considering Louisville's biggest two rivals for the conference championship have either left the conference (WVU), or lost their coach and have yet another year of QB controversy to prepare for, do you see them as being the undisputed favorites to win the league, barring some unexpected resurgence out of USF/Pitt/SU?
Andrea Adelson (4:40 PM)
I think I had Louisville behind WVU in my last power rankings, which would obviously bump up the Cardinals. But I wouldn't rule out RU getting some votes. I really think it is going to be close between those 2 for the preseason pick.
Brian (State of Rutgers)
Crystal ball prediction time: Is it more likely than not (>50%) that Rutgers, Louisville, and maybe UCONN will leave the Big East conference within 5 years?
Andrea Adelson (4:41 PM)
FIVE YEARS is a bigger window than one. I would say it is on the more likely side.
Rob (Boise, ID)
Re: Chris (Pitt)I wouldn't classify a school like Boise State as "desperate". They are grateful they finally get the chance to prove themselves in the upper echelon conferences, but desperation is hardly their stance. If anything, the Big East NEEDS Boise State to keep it afloat. Without Boise State, the conference becomes the C-USA. You think the conference is going to be competitive with UConn, Rutgers, Cincinnatti, or Houston? You are out of your mind!
Andrea Adelson (4:42 PM)
I don't know that Chris was specifically referring to Boise. We can let him answer on that.
Ryan (Ohio)
3rd in a 6 (or 7) team Big East and a trip to the Pinstripe doesnt sound too unreasonable for Pitt. Then again, you have to take my bowl predictions with a grain of salt because I called for a 12-0 season for USF last year.
Andrea Adelson (4:42 PM)
Ooof!
john (cincinnati)
AA, where are you going for spring practices?
Andrea Adelson (4:42 PM)
I do not have my travel plans yet, but will let you guys know when I know!
Jon (NYC)
You would think at least on the basketball side, Cuse would continue to play Gtown and St Johns (to have a game at MSG). I don't think the bball only BE schools will hold as big of a grudge. Gtown's AD basically already said as much
Andrea Adelson (4:43 PM)
I would really applaud that if those games remain on the sked.
Chris (DC)
AA, let's pretend the BCS decides on an 8-team playoff (we can all generally agree the Big Ten would never let this happen, but for now, just go with it). For the 8 teams, the AQ champs get auto-bids, and there's a few at-large spots. In this set up, does the Big East get an auto-bid or not? Personally, I say no
Andrea Adelson (4:44 PM)
I don't know that there will be auto bids. Might just go 1-8 based on BCS standings.
john (cincinnati)
AA, if you think it is likely that the remaining 5 "uninvited" Big East programs are going to move to another conference in the next 5 years, do you think that the other 5 AQ conferences will be moving to 16 schools???
Andrea Adelson (4:45 PM)
I think it would be naive to believe this is the end game for conference realignment.
Andrea Adelson (4:45 PM)
Looks like you all are in favor of the food challenge. I am going to need all your suggestions!
Go Cats Go! (Clifton)
What do you make of the defensive shuffle. Seems a little odd this way? Anything you read in the tea leaves?
Andrea Adelson (4:47 PM)
You mean having a run game coordinator, pass game coordinator and defensive coordinator? Jancek and Banks shared the coordinator duties the last two years and that seemed to work out OK. I just think Butch wanted to spread some of the responsibility around. I wouldn't read much into it more than that.
Adam (philly)
i know SP has said publicly that PSU and ND are our two priorities going forward. I also know ND was pretty harsh with it's criticism towards Pitt after the ACC announcement and the PSU athletic dept has bigger issues right now. Have you heard of any support from either school in continuing or renewing a current series after the current contracts expire?
Andrea Adelson (4:48 PM)
I have not heard anything one way or the other. Pitt has its own issues to worry about right now. It might just be a wait and see, depending on how Pitt wants to structure its nonconference games as ACC members. I believe they are going to 9 league games when they move.
Ryan (Ohio)
The AA vs. Campus Food Challenge definitely needs to involve Chili 5-Ways in Cincinnati.
Andrea Adelson (4:49 PM)
I ate at Terry's Turf Club when I was there for the WVU game. They made a seat for me at the bar. Awesome burger! And yes, I watch Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
Mike ('Cuse)
If the AQ goes away...what real incentive does the remaining conferences have to expand? From what I gathered, 16 could bring an extra AQ, so that's out the window. And it looks like the Big 12 can appeal to the NCAA for a championship with only 10 teams, if they wanted to. Would it just be T.V. dollars then?
Andrea Adelson (4:50 PM)
And the eventual split into 2 divisions between the "haves" and "have nots."
A Husky Man (Hartford)
What are your thoughts on our non-conference schedule? Also can the BE petition the NCAA for a waiver on the only being able to count 1 I-AA game towards a bowl? Its not these schools fault that WVU screwed everyone.
Andrea Adelson (4:52 PM)
Well it looks about the same as last year in terms of winnable games, yet that didn't mean anything in the end. As for the waiver, that is a good question. I would have to find out for you.
Brian (State of Rutgers)
I sounds like Rob from Boise thinks that his team is going to own teams like Rutgers, Louisville, and Houston. I think he's in for a wake up call. If there is anything that I've learned, its that the Big East has parity and any team can win any week. Boise goes 4-4 or 5-3 in conference if it joins next year.
Andrea Adelson (4:53 PM)
I think it is going to be tough for Boise if they join this year because they are going to have such a young team. And will be playing an entirely new set of teams. Again.
Doug (Tampa)
UCLA got a waiver this year to go bowling with a losing record.
Andrea Adelson (4:53 PM)
Yes. I thought that was absurd.
Mike ('Cuse)
I guess I was asking, why should the Big 12 go back to 12? Their tv contract was not effected, and they could probably have a championship game if they wanted. Wouldn't going back to 12 just be more mouths to feed?
Andrea Adelson (4:54 PM)
You bring up a good point. I think Mack Brown and Bob Stoops are very happy at not having a championship game. From what I have seen, the Big 12 does not have plans to expand at this moment, but who knows if those plans change, especially if there is another perceived threat at destruction. Or if Texas/Oklahoma really REALLY REALLY decide they want to go to the Pac-12 next time.
Bob (Syracuse)
TexanMark has a blog for all current BE schools that discusses hotels, food, and things to do. http://texanmarktailgate.blogspot.com/
Andrea Adelson (4:55 PM)
Thanks, Bob!
Chris (Pitt)
RE: Rob form Boise. I was thinking every team, but Boise and Navy are desperate for that spot.
Card Fan (Louisville)
Seems like we are the only ones excited to get Memphis in. They do have an upside esecially if FedEx dude puts money in like the Nike guy and TBoone did at their schools.
Andrea Adelson (4:55 PM)
Everybody should be excited. Easy W!
Da 'Nati (Cleveland, OH)
Along those lines do you think the "big schools" are going to split from the NCAA and their ridiculous rule book?
Andrea Adelson (4:56 PM)
I think a split is an eventuality. I cannot put a time table on it, but this is nothing new. It has been talked about for years and years.
John (Cincinnati)
I love the fact that nobody is looking at Cincinnati to repeat as Big East champs. Same coach and our qb already played three huge games for us last year.
Andrea Adelson (4:57 PM)
He wasn't a world beater, John! And there are tons of holes to fill everywhere.
john (cincinnati)
AA, did the Big12 schools sign away media rights revenue to keep the schools from leaving for the next 5 years???
Andrea Adelson (4:57 PM)
After 5 years? I just don't think anything is stable. The thing is, nothing ever is stable. Conferences have changed their makeup plenty over the years.
Ryan (Ohio)
How would you feel about the BE playing a 9 game conference schedule in 2013 and 2014 while waiting on Navy to join?
Andrea Adelson (4:58 PM)
Call me crazy but I like the 8 game league sked. I like getting to see teams play other conferences. You get a breather game vs. FCS and hopefully 2 against good BCS opponents and 1 from a non-AQ. That is how I would handle scheduling.
Rob (Boise, ID)
Re: Card Fan (Louisville) Maybe FedEx will "deliver". Lol!Anyway.... I don't think Boise State is going to be as bad as everyone thinks. Although not starters, most of the defense has considerable gametime experience. In addition, we only lose one WR. Think you can stop Matt Miller? Georgia couldn't. We return DJ Harper and most of our line. Boise State will be fine. We'll have at least 10 wins our first season in the BE. Bank on that.
Andrea Adelson (4:59 PM)
I will say that if Boise joins this year, Boise will not win 10 games. If you are using DJ Harper as proof that you have a solid run game -- the dude cannot stay healthy! I hope for his sake that he does because I hate to see any player with the bad luck he has had.
BE (East coast)
Will WVU be eating crow if Texas and Oklahoma bolts for the Pac 12 in 5-6 years? Karma anyone?
Andrea Adelson (5:00 PM)
I don't rule anything out in expansion.
Jon (NYC)
The problem with an 8 game schedule is if everyonw else is doing a 9 game schedule you will not be able to fill out a 12 game
Andrea Adelson (5:01 PM)
Yes that is a good point, Jon. And probably further proof we are moving in the direction of a split.
Andrea Adelson (5:01 PM)
OK guys, thanks for joining me today! Lots of great questions. Have a great weekend everyone!
