Marshawn is here!
Alex (Anaheim)
Marshawn, we loved you in the Cal band! Do you miss anything about college football, or is the NFL even more fun?
Marshawn Lynch (12:45 PM)
I have three cousins that I played with while I was at Cal. I miss playing with them. Getting up in battle with my family. Other than that, I'm happy to be playing on the level I'm at now.
Garrett (Richmond, VA)
This was a contract year for you, Mr. Lynch. In your new contract, how many bags of Skittles will you be paid?
Marshawn Lynch (12:46 PM)
HA! Oh man! That's a great question. With the amount of Skittles they threw on the field from last year, I think that Skittles won't be an option, I think I'll have them for the rest of my life. However many that adds up to, but it will be a lot.
Matthew (Columbia, NJ)
Marshawn: Did you ever play Madden when you were growing up?
Marshawn Lynch (12:47 PM)
I always liked to play it, but I was always left out on it, because my two cousins were always hogging the controllers. I was outside practicing my moves. But when I was allowed to play, I probably won 21-0.
Joey (SC)
You are a BEAST for sure. But another BEAST MODE is QB Connor Shaw at the University of South Carolina. It's okay for multiple people to have the nickname Beast Mode right?
Marshawn Lynch (12:48 PM)
You can stop that right now....that's false. I didn't even finish reading the question. There will always be imitators. But the Beast Mode speaks for itself. I don't need to parade it around.
Jason, cali [via mobile]
Hey mr. lynch, im glad ur back to your old ways, where do u like playing more, seattle or buffalo.
Marshawn Lynch (12:49 PM)
I have no problems playing in Buffalo. The fans showed me a lot of love and respect and they continue to do so. The 12th Man have shown me a lot of respect too. I love playing both.
Kevein (CT)
What do you think your chances against Chris Johnson?
Marshawn Lynch (12:50 PM)
I'm not sure how I made it to the second round or how Chris made it to the second round, but my chances going up, since I believe I didn't do the first video and I still made it to the second round. If I move on, it's good. If not, big ups to Chris.
Marshawn Lynch (12:51 PM)
I got my cousin in my ear back here saying you don't want to be on Madden...there's a curse!
Dave (Ohio)
What are your goals for next season?
Marshawn Lynch (12:52 PM)
My No. 1 goal is to make sure that I don't give up a sack, to protect the QB for as long as I can. To continue to get better as a RB, as a player and continue to help my team in anyway I can. Simple goals. Simple, short and sweet.
Dave (Ohio)
Why did you start eating Skittles during games?
Marshawn Lynch (12:53 PM)
Well, my mom used to give them to me to settle my stomach and it took off from there. It became a routine. It started in high school and then at Cal. I took it to Buffalo, but I kept it under wraps more. I took it to Seattle and it exploded from there.
Phil (NJ)
Did you talk to Flynn yet? How do you think the QB battle in training camp will go?
Marshawn Lynch (12:53 PM)
No, I haven't talked to him yet. I'm pretty sure he's a competitor. I know TJack is too. It will be interesting for the fans as well as us. Let the best man win.
Chris (NJK)
Offseason plans?
Marshawn Lynch (12:54 PM)
Actually, I have had big plans. I've been working with my youth foundation in Oakland. We've been trying to get this youth center going.
Jay (Oakland,Ca)
Wuddup Marshawn,How many times during the course of a game that you are thinking TOWN BUSINESS?....SORRY other chatters it's an Oakland thing.
Marshawn Lynch (12:55 PM)
I don't stop thinking Town Business. Every chance I get, I make sure that I represent. To let everyone know that Oakland is doing something and get rid of the negativity. Any chance I can do that I will.
matt (PA)
Marshawn, your run against (my) eagles towards the end of the year.... you know when you ran through 9 defenders, was stellar. What was going through your head?
Marshawn Lynch (12:56 PM)
Oh man....I guess they call it the "Houdini Run." As long as the pile is moving forward and I haven't dropped yet, I'm going to keep moving. Keep your feet moving and I was going to try to get out the back of it. I learned that in Pop Warner and kept going.
David (NYC)
Any trips this summer?
Marshawn Lynch (12:57 PM)
I wish! To be honest, I've just been at home, working on this foundation, putting on events and talking to kids.
Paul (Boston)
What do yout hink of this new found following you've got and Beast Mode?
Marshawn Lynch (12:57 PM)
I'm just glad that my work got noticed. It's not being overlooked. I put some hours in. I'm glad that it doesn't go unnoticed.
Eric (LA)
Best NFL achievement?
Marshawn Lynch (12:58 PM)
Probably getting drafted.
naga (california)
Do u like chocolates??
Marshawn Lynch (12:58 PM)
I don't eat the Skittles for the taste. It's more for a stomach coating.
Eric (DC)
How do you feel about M. Flynn coming in? In relation, do you feel Seattle is a serious contender this year?
Marshawn Lynch (12:59 PM)
We're not going out there to play for second best. Our goal is to play for the Super Bowl. Why wouldn't I?
steven (seattle)
What made you want to resign with the hawks instead of taking your services else where
Marshawn Lynch (1:00 PM)
I like the coaching staff up there. Being up there for a year and a half, I've grown to know some of the players. I know some guys from Cal. It's being taken care of where I was at. I was comfortable there. I like Seattle.
James (IL)
Marshawn, do you believe in the Madden Curse?
Marshawn Lynch (1:02 PM)
I won't be naive to it and I've seen how it's effected the players. If I was to make it, I would probably want to be the player to break the curse. If I'm not, I want that player to go break the curse.
Otto (CA)
Does Pete Carroll say pumped and jacked a lot?
Marshawn Lynch (1:03 PM)
Coach Carroll is pretty good at getting us pumped up. He always has a plot for each day. When it comes down to game time, he brings out his best.
Marshawn Lynch (1:08 PM)
I want to say to the fans that have voted and have not voted, I appreciate it if you do and if you don't, I appreciate that too, now that I've heard of this curse. Also, if you have time, go ahead and check out my foundation. That could be a way for you to show me some love and support and see what we're doing for these kids out here.
